I really really loved this class! The different prompts got me to draw/paint things I have never attempted before which built my confidence. It was also a great practice in letting go, I did sketch out a lot of my paintings before hand, but for the few where I just went for it, I am glad I did. They are not necessarily my favorites but I need to focus more on the process than the outcome. I also enjoyed working with a limited color palette a lot more than I expected.

Day 1-what I am listening to. This is my favorite podcast that I have been listening to at work for years and its helped me through a lot of boring, tedious work! I used watercolor pens and black pen.

Day 2-Recently I learned. I love drinking warm drinks in the winter but I can only have so much coffee in a day so I have recently upped my lemon water intake so this prompt inspired me to look up if there were any health effects like I've heard and I found a few. Painted with gouache.

Day 3: Creating with. I enjoyed painting with only two colors way more than I thought I would, today I went with watercolors from tubes. At the end I got a little rushed so I will have to make sure to slow down tomorrow with the next prompt 14 Days of Journaling Prompts - image 3 - student project Day 4: What I've recently read. I struggled with this one even though it should have been pretty straight-forward I found it hard. I recently got some gold gouache and thought this would be a great chance to use it because the title of Transcendent Kingdom is written in gold but I really struggled and gave up. Day 5: The ingredients to my mess!-I loved this prompt! This gave me an excuse to pick up and see what kind of things I tend to leave around. My allergies have been driving me crazy today so the crumpled tissue takes center place. I recently got new running shoes (thank you stimulus check) and they always come with these weird key chains, what am I supposed to do with that? 14 Days of Journaling Prompts - image 5 - student project Day 6: Morning Routine. I am big on my morning routine and can feel off if I don't do things I had planned in a certain order, need to work on that. First things first is coffee, I switched to French Press a few years ago but I am considering going back to pour over since I can make much bigger cups of coffee lol. With my coffee I catch up on news (and social media), try to meditate for a few minutes, plan my day and then if the weather is right and if my day allows, I go for a run. Then bike to work and start my work day :)

Day 7: Currently craving. I ended up working both days this weekend due to the timing of experiments, which I am used to, but I did this prompt at the end of the weekend and that was what sounded good at the moment. Not my best effort but glad I did it.

Day 8: Constantly wearing: I am not sure how much this prompt would have changed for me before vs after the pandemic lol, but i guess the fact that it is winter has a big influence on what I wear. I don't usually enjoy painting clothes (cause I don't think I am good at it) but Dylan made this prompt super approachable and I ended up having a lot of fun with it.
