Hello Brent,

I'm Harshita, a 30-year-old mixed media artist who has exhibited internationally. I have been making art since 2019 and I did not have much experience in drawing, as I went directly for the paint, due to my subconscious fear of drawing even basic shapes.

I took this course on my own pace, starting from December 12th, 2025 and ended it on 7th May, 2026.

For the lines, ovals and shapes, I practiced them on printer paper (A4 size) filling in 35 pages in total. I practiced the lines especially vertical lines multiple times. I then proceeded to draw the above.

I drew the above using a regular HB pencil. I barely used the eraser for the Scrub Jay, Flowers and the Figure Drawing, and for the shapes and lines practice, I did not need the eraser at all.

For the figure drawing, I barely used the regular eraser and for the hands and legs, I used the Kneaded Eraser.

I had fun drawing along from this whole series. I am determined to apply these principles to drawings that I make in the upcoming future.
