Share your illustration and use the project space to show your progress, challenges, and thoughts.

Steps to the assignment:

Think about the person you would like to draw. As an example, you can use any of the photos provided.
Print out any of the images (skip this step if you don’t have a printer).
Observe different portrait examples in the file named Portraits with Different Characteristics, provided.
Take a transparent piece of paper and put it on top of your image.
Outline the portrait with a pencil without worrying about the small details.
Put another transparent piece of paper on top of the outlined object and simplify it more.
Repeat the previous step as many times as you want.
Look at the image that you just created. Open the file named Features, and try to fill in the table
Redraw the portrait with his/her/their characteristics in mind.
Redraw the portrait with the emphasized characteristics.
Choose and add the color for your character.
Name your illustration.
Digitize or remake your illustration by using digital software.
Try out applying the illustration to the mockup designs.
Share your work with the class on the Discussion or Projects & Resources pages.
