Talk about a resurrection
I've had these sneakers for almost 20 years (!!!) hence them falling apart (I mean, the leather is peeling...)

I was cleaning out the closet, and under a suitcase there they were, staring up at me like, "WTF Woman?! Why have you forsaken us?!"

I wasn't sure if I could save them, but I decided to give it a shot.
The big question was, "How was I going to cover up the peeling leather"?
My best guess: Draw over them?...

So I did.
And this is the result.

Even when you look up close, you can barely see the "wear & tear" it's gone through over the years, because of the zentangle drawings.

I know you're asking what I used to draw on this art style?

The pen I used was an OIL-BASED Sharpie (Black/Noir) in Fine Point & Miaosun's OIL-BASED pen (Black) in Extra Fine Point

The reason I put an emphasis on oil-based is because, unlike water-based markers:

It dries quick.
It doesn't smear (especially after you hit it with the blow dryer or apply the finisher).
It will create a full, clean line in 1-2 passes.

To do any extra clean up, I used the finest brush I have and Angelus in Black.

So, if you have a pesky rip, tear, or gouge in your sneaker you need to cover up - get creative with an oil-based marker.
