Your project in this class is to design your very own manifesto.

I would like you to create and design:

Option 1: A personal manifesto with a list of 5 to 10 rules to live by, a list that will be your magical mantra, to guide you to achieve your goals and to share your personal vision with the world.
Option 2: A manifesto on a subject that speaks to your heart as a call to action or to bring awareness to a cause you believe in or fight for.

To complete your project, you'll go through the process of:

Collecting inspiration
Completing the exercise sheets
Writing your manifesto
Creating your mood board
Learning about colour
Learning and applying basic design principles, like alignment, proximity, contrast, repetition, white space and hierarchy
Learning the basics of typography and how to pair fonts
Sketching your ideas
Bringing your ideas to life on Adobe Illustrator (or any other program of your choice)
Sharing your project in the projects gallery

To follow along with the class project, you will need a computer with Adobe Illustrator or any other graphic software of your choice. You can also design it analogically if you prefer.

Once you have your project finalised, please share it in the projects gallery, so other students can be inspired by your project and I will also love to see your creations! Sharing is caring :)

Michael has been able to work for some seriously impressive brands—including NASA, Adobe, Boeing, and more—and in this class he’ll teach you the digital pop-up paper style that’s landed him his biggest clients and even a few design awards. By seeing how he goes about creating his signature style, you’ll learn plenty of new ways to add a sophisticated and fun look to your own work.

Add a Human Touch to Your Designs with Aaron Draplin

Once you learn the rules of great design—it’s time to break them! While legendary designer Aaron Draplin has spent most of his career creating work on the computer, he’s always been inspired by the rough quality of vintage graphics that were created by hand. In this class, you’ll learn all about how he adds that signature “scrizz” to his digital designs—and why those little imperfections can actually make your work better.
