For the class project, you'll follow along and paint with me, to create your own realistic illustration of pastry or bread! I encourage you to share not only the finished work, but also the process. If you'd like constructive feedback, please be sure to mention it when you post your work and I will do my best to offer it!

Step-by-Step:

Download my reference image, or choose a reference image of your own. If you choose you're own, be sure to keep in mind the criteria for selecting a good reference image that we went over in Lesson 2.
Create a sketch, and transfer it to your art paper; Create an underpainting
Use washes of watercolor to gradually build up color
Add detail, texture and nuance with colored pencil
Blend, and add finishing touches

Materials:

Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor pencils (sub: Prismacolor)
Hydrus Liquid Watercolor & palette (sub: any watercolor you like)
Prismacolor Colored Pencils (sub: Arteza, low; Caran d'Ache, high)
Gamsol OMS (sub: Mona Lisa, USA; Zest It, international)
Sharpie Paint pen (sub: Posca or Uni Signo)
A #2 round acrylic brush, a #2 quill brush and a #6 round watercolor brush
A few sheets of printer paper
A kneaded eraser
Fabriano Artistico 300lb cold pressed watercolor paper (sub: any cold pressed paper at least 140lb)
DB Mier Light Pad (sub: Your window!)
