Consistency

HOOK

[Close-up. You’re struggling with something simple — maybe solving a problem, learning an instrument, editing, working out,

VO :

What if the things you think you're bad at...

aren't actually things you're bad at?

Maybe...

you just never did them long enough.

[Pause.]

Because if there's one trait that can completely change what you're capable of...

I think it's consistency.

And the weird thing is...

you've probably already proved this to yourself.

You just didn't notice it.

SETUP

[Cut to you sitting at a desk. Notebook open. Pen in hand.]

When I was around ten years old...

I used to solve a ridiculous amount of maths problems.

Not because I was some super-disciplined ten-year-old.

[Beat.]

I liked my maths teacher.

That's it.

[Small smile.]

So I paid attention in class.

I went home...

and I solved more problems.

Then the next day...

I solved some more.

And some more.

And some more.

[Quick cuts: notebook pages, pencil moving, equations, erasing, page turning.]

I wasn't thinking,

"I'm developing a skill."

I wasn't trying to become great at maths.

I was just...

doing it.

Again.

And again.

And again.

BUILD

And eventually something strange happened.

Maths stopped feeling difficult.

A problem would appear in front of me...

and somehow my brain already knew where to start.

Things that used to require effort became automatic.

Almost like...

second nature.

[Pause.]

And because it felt natural...

I started thinking:

"I'm good at maths."

[Cut.]

But...

there was chemistry.

[Visual shift. Close-up of chemistry book being dropped onto desk.]

I hated chemistry.

And honestly...

I don't think my chemistry teacher was particularly excited about it either.

[Small humorous beat.]

So I didn't pay much attention.

I didn't solve extra questions.

I didn't spend time trying to understand it.

And because I wasn't very good at it...

I avoided it even more.

And because I avoided it...

I became even worse.

[Pause.]

Eventually, I had another belief about myself:

"I'm just bad at chemistry."

And for years...

that explanation made perfect sense to me.

Good at maths.

Bad at chemistry.

Simple.

[Beat.]

But it wasn't simple.

Because when I looked back at those two versions of myself...

I realized something.

With maths...

I had hundreds of repetitions.

With chemistry...

I barely gave myself a chance.

CHANGE

[Music drops or becomes very minimal.]

Maybe maths wasn't my superpower.

Consistency was.

[Pause.]

And maybe chemistry wasn't my weakness.

Maybe...

inconsistency was.

[Hold the shot slightly longer.]

That changed the way I think about being "good" at something.

Because sometimes we look at someone's ability...

or even our own ability...

and call it talent.

But we don't see the hundreds...

or thousands...

of boring repetitions that came before it.

REFLECTION

[Visuals of you doing something you're currently learning. Failing, retrying, improving.]

Think about something you're really good at today.

Driving.

Cooking.

Speaking a language.

Using a computer.

Playing a game.

Your job.

Whatever it is.

There was probably a time when you were terrible at it.

But you kept doing it.

And eventually...

your brain stopped treating it like something new.

It became normal.

Then comfortable.

Then automatic.

Second nature.

[Pause.]

And I think that's what's so powerful about consistency.

It doesn't always feel like you're building something.

Most days...

it feels like nothing happened.

You practiced.

You showed up.

You did another repetition.

And that's it.

But those ordinary days start stacking on top of each other.

Until one day...

something that used to feel impossible...

feels like you.

[Cut to close-up / direct eye contact.]

So maybe the question isn't:

"Am I good enough to do this?"

Maybe the better question is...

"Can I keep showing up long enough to find out?"

[Pause.]

Because if you can do that...

I bet you're capable of a lot more than you think.

[Cut to black.]
