Color-themed watercolor painting collections has been fun, efficient, and has been responsible for me landing two brand collaborations so far. It's a powerful tool when it's done well, and will take you further than you know.

That's why I'm so excited to share my newest class, Watercolor Collections: Scroll Stopping Color-Themed Artwork! Inside, I'll show you how to build a small 3-piece watercolor collection inspired and supported by a single color palette. The few colors you use will unify your collection pieces, making it a scroll-stopping attraction.

Tools & Materials

Watercolor paints- I’m using Viviva Colors watercolor colorsheets because they are very saturated in color, 100% biodegradable, vegan, and made with natural non-toxic dyes. You can learn more about them here.
Watercolor brushes- I’m using medium and small round brushes and a medium flat brush.
Watercolor paper- at least 140lb/300gm which is absorbent enough not to buckle excessively. It’s a bonus if it’s made with cotton.
Pencil -You an use any pencil you have on hand. I’m using an 2B or HB pencil and keeping my strokes light.
Eraser that doesn’t leave marks on paper. I’m using a polymer eraser but gum erasers work well too.
Jar(s) of water to rinse brushes. You can also use recycled cups, mugs, and anything else that will hold water. I’m using two of them to keep my brushes extra clean, and so I don’t have to change my water as much.
Rags and/or paper towels- I use a combination of both. Having a white rag or towel to clean brushes with ensures you know all the paint has been removed. The cleaner you keep your brushes, the longer their lifespan!
Sketch pad to create some thumbnails for pre-planning your collection.

Project Upload Instructions (Detailed instructions provided in Lesson 2)

First click the Projects and Resources tab under the class videos.
Then click the green CREATE PROJECT button.
Upload a cover image for your project choose a file, then click SUBMIT.
Use the slider to make it larger or smaller, and you can drag it side to side to position it.
When you're happy, just click SUBMIT.
Create a TITLE for your project. It can be simple or clever.
Place your cursor in the Project Description field.
Click the IMAGE icon below to add images of your project and even your process.
Place your cursor below the image to type in descriptions.
You can also add a VIDEO or LINKS with the icons below the Project Description field, but not required.
When you're done, just click the green PUBLISH button. You did it! :-)

This skill has helped me get noticed in a sea of artists, and I can't wait to share this process with you!
