As a class project, complete the following assignments:

Assignment #1

During the “The basics of character drawing” part of the class, make at least one sketch of a fox by using the help of reference pictures. (Find the references in Resources)

Example project:

Optional:

make a copy of your final thumbnail and play around with different color combinations;

draw a few more foxes from different angles (for example, a straight look and a side look).

Assignment #2

During the “Action lines” part of the class, practice making the dynamic human figures of a guy and a girl.

Use the same action lines as you’ve seen in the video or use your own. (Attached file: Action lines)

Practice just the simplified figures If you don’t want to work on details at this stage.

If you are creating some design try making it not too complicated (it may be very simple and cartoony, and if you want you can use some references).

Assignment #3

As the last assignment use the base of the knight from the Project & Resource tab (or use your own line base of a character(s)),

and do the following:

Prepare the colored base: add flat colors & simple volume;
By using the Visual Association method pick at least 2 random words from the prompt list and implement them into your base drawing;
Create at least 2 different designs besides the base coloring.

Optional:

After having all the options, pick the one you like the most and continue your rendering process by using the knowledge you gained from the previous parts of the course. (Pay attention to the lights and shades, materials, and detailing zones.) Or keep your final drawings as the “concept art” thumbnails.

To get feedback and to show your creations, don't hesitate to share your project in the project gallery: share the final results or the process shots, including your:

inspiration & references;
sketches;
thumbnails,
color palettes;
stages of character creation, etc.
