Your class project is to create this peony hoop with me!

Before you begin this class, you'll need to gather the following supplies:
*Embroidery hoop (I like the wooden ones best and I'm using a 4" hoop in this video.)
*Embroidery needle (Chenille needles are great for beginners, but embroidery needles are fine too!)
*Cloth (I'm using a linen/viscose blend in this video. Cotton and linen are both popular! Just don't purchase any stretchy fabric.)
*Scissors (Fabric scissors are best for your fabric of choice. You can also use embroidery scissors for the stitching process.)
*Light source for tracing (I use a Crayola light tracing pad, you can also use a natural light source such as a window, or trace the pattern digitally with an iPad or laptop screen.)
*Transfer pen (I use a Pilot Frixion heat erasable pen)
*Embroidery floss (DMC 3727, 819, 523, 3820)

After you've collected your supplies:
Once you've collected all your embroidery supplies, download my peony pattern listed with this class. I've included the peony design in three different sizes so you can choose how your design looks inside your hoop of choice. The hoop pictured in this class is a 4" bamboo hoop.

Now it's time to start the class! I will lead you through the process of preparing your hoop, stitching each section, and finishing your hoop. For further assistance, you can also download my "Peonies Cover" document for a photo reference to each stitch type.

When you've finished:
When you've finished all the lessons and have a completed hoop, snap a picture and share it in the projects section!

FYI:
After collecting your supplies and preparing your hoop, you can complete the actual stitching in any order you'd like! For example, if you'd rather start with the back stitch video than the satin stitch, by all means jump around with what's comfortable for you.
