Explore nature, create a pattern!

ASSIGNMENT

The assignment for this course is to create a repeating pattern inspired by your favorite things found in nature. Your final pattern should be complex, seamless and engaging. Take plenty of time to learn the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator first, then carefully research, photograph, sketch and study your inspirations. Choose a color palette that is unique and engaging and your final pattern will be stunning!

DELIVERABLE

When you're ready, begin uploading your process and final pattern to the student project gallery. A complete student project should include:

Inspirations from nature
Moodboard
Sketches
Color palette
Motifs
Final pattern

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Below are a few of the tools that will be helpful in this course.

Adobe Illustrator (begin a free trial here)
Sketchbook
Pencil and dark black pen
Camera or Smartphone

Not mandatory, but useful tools include:
