ASSIGNMENT

Find a simple object you have laying around the house and study it carefully. Set 3 minutes on a timer and using just a pen ( or pencil) and paper capture the main characteristics of the object. Draw it out as many times as you can within the 3 minute period. You may wish to repeat this 3 minute challenge with any number of objects.

By looking carefully before hand then setting a 3 minute time limit you will focus and draw only the important characteristics of the object of your choosing. By repeating this exercise several times your powers of observation and pen (pencil) control will increase. It's perfectly OK to make mistakes - learn from it and just move on...

DELIVERABLES

At least one example of a 3 minute drawing. But I'd love to see at least 3 examples - that will take less than 10 minutes!

You will need:

Pen or pencils

Paper - printer paper is preferable as it will feel less precious

A timer - either on watch or phone
