Postcard from the Thanksgiving Table

For me, Thanksgiving starts the night before. That's just how I grew up.

Mom would put the turkey in the evening before, and we would stay up all night basting it between action and Christmas movies.

Since we've all grown up - like, really grown up. I'm 43, and I'm the youngest - she's continued to do this. A turkey cooked any other way won't work. We don't know that, we don't want to jinx it! So, she takes one for the team and watches Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, and a smattering of Hallmark Christmas movies to bring us a turkey that is never dry.

Next year, my sister and I are going to join her for a pre-Thanksgiving pajama party, and we'll see if she's will to let us take care of the turkey.

Let's Have a Quiet Little Book/Craft Fair of Our Own!

Yesterday, I attend a local Christmas art fair, and it was so beautiful! I felt like I was in a movie. The weather was perfect. It was cold enough to wear a jacket, but once you got moving, you felt comfortable. Everyone looked cozy and happy to be out in the world with their neighbors.

We picked some beautiful handmade soaps form Fire and Sage, got some delicious macaroons from a local baker, and I saw Glitter and Toadstools who I met at the Green Eyes Festival.

This got me thinking about you.

I think we have our own quiet little book/craft fair in the comments of this newsletter. This will let everyone know where they find your work and maybe even give folks some good ideas for holiday gifts!
