Create your own animated illustration!

You’ll complete your class project by illustrating a character of your choice with a fun background, and animating it on a loop using the following techniques:

The CC Bend it effect
Expressions
Animated textures
The Wave Warp effect

If you don’t feel making your own illustration or just want to practice before animating your creation, I’ve also made an After Effect project available in the resources section that contains 4 short exercises with reference animations. You’ll complete the exercises by using each of the techniques covered in the class.
When you’re done you can upload your illustration, your final animation, and/or your 4 exercises in video or gif format.

6- Looping and Refining your illustration

The Loop In & Out Expression used on the CC Bend it effect keyframes:
loopIn()+loopOut()-value

7- Animating with Expressions

The Looping Wiggle Expression that can be applied to your position, rotation, or opacity properties:
freq = 1;
amp = 110;
loopTime = 3;
t = time % loopTime;
wiggle1 = wiggle(freq, amp, 1, 0.5, t);
wiggle2 = wiggle(freq, amp, 1, 0.5, t - loopTime);
linear(t, 0, loopTime, wiggle1, wiggle2)

10- Final Touches

The Time Expression used to create the hand drawn look:
