Animate your own falling objects.

Try your hand at animating a variety of falling objects to understand how their different weights will affect their movement.

Start by choosing your objects. You can either animate the tennis ball, cinder block, and feather along with Jake by downloading the After Effects template, or illustrate your own objects to start from scratch.

Then, follow along with Jake to tinker with aspects like speed, timing, and motion paths to make the animation feel more realistic—while still having plenty of personality.

Whatever you create during class, share a GIF of your final animation in the project gallery! If you aren’t sure how to export your animation as a GIF, Jake has a short class with instructions that you can check out here.
