When I saw the Houses in Munich project, I knew I wanted to paint the colorful row of shops and stores along the coast of Portree on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. I visited this little harbor-side town with my husband last year during our 25th anniversary trip and I loved the bright buildings. So here it is Kandinsky-style!

My first concentric circles piece using watercolor paints on cold pressed water color paper. I used a palette called "Watercolor in Nature" that I picked up at a little art store where they make their own pigments. Mark making was done with colored pencils, markers, Posca pens, and Micron pens. This was so easy, enjoyable, and relaxing.
