At the bare minimum your assignment is to:

Conduct one brainstorming session using post-it notes to develop your piece of fiction or nonfiction.
Photograph your wall of post-its and share your snapshot along with some context for what you're working on.

If you look at my project, you'll see I go into detail as I build up my wall of post-its with multiple snapshots - that's happening over months, and it's more for demonstration purposes - for you it'll suffice if you just show us one snapshot of your wall from one brainstorming session.

I know I sound like a broken record by now, but for this project you truly can't make mistakes - as your wall of notes will probably be very rough, raw, unfinished and in some places unintelligible. The point of the project this time around is simply to do it and share what you've created; we'll be limited in what feedback we can give you, but hopefully we'll be inspired to see all the different writing pieces the technique is being applied to.

Please do give us a line or two giving us some context for what you're working on - maybe how long you've had this idea, if the technique of using post-its helped you, or not, where you're struggling, etc.

If you find the technique to be helpful, then scale up and perform more than one brainstorming session, you can always update your project space with more snapshots as you make progress, leading all the way up to the first draft of your piece if you desire like I did.

Again, the piece you're working on can be fictional or nonfictional - because the building blocks of any piece of writing is the same. And many of the issues we deal with as writers are the same.

Remember the point of the class is to:

take a break from your computer and desk
stand up, move your body
work spatially, physically
start small
turn off your inner editor

When you get stuck, take breaks, come back to it. And please don't judge your results by how many post-its you end up, more is not better, less is not worse!
