1. Introduction: Hello, everyone. I welcome you all to my scripture class. My name is JudiaGaval and today we are going to have a class for zentangle meditation with Christmas trees. In this class, we're going to learn how you can create an art piece with a Christmas tree at the center and a whole lot of entangles around it. This class is a wholesome package of entangling meditation and the use of brush pens while drawing and coloring the Christmas tree that we have drawn at the center. You can create any other masterpiece also, but in this class, I'm focusing on Christmas tree. Also at the end of this class, there is mentioned a project work that you have to complete and submit in this class. All the steps how to submit the project are already mentioned in that lesson only. Yes, yes, I know you all are eagerly waiting to start the class, so I'm not taking any more of your time and let's jump to the next lesson, which is starting with our material that we need for this class. See you there, bye. 2. Material Required: So, guys, for this Ss we need a white sheet of paper. You can also use a colored sheet. Here, if you see I'm showing you with my fingers the size of the sheet that I am going to use. You can use a bigger sheet also if you want to create a pigger art piece. I'm also going to use a black sketch pen for outlining a pencil and an eraser for drawing it beforehand so that I don't have to draw it with sketch pen directly, and this will also help me to correct my mistakes if I make any. I'm also going to use this black pen that I'm showing you here. Next, I'm showing you here the brush pens that I am going to use. I'm going to use this medium because I find it easy to color with. You can change the medium if you want. Let's see in the next video for the next step. 3. Drawing the Christmas Tree: Welcome back, everyone. In this lesson, we are going to learn how we are going to create or draw a Christmas tree. We have to draw it and we have to color it also. We are also going to draw some gifts and some decorations around it to make it a complete scene of a Christmas. Here, I'm using a pencil to draw the Christmas tree, and I'm drawing it very, very lightly so that if I make any mistake, I can use erasor to correct my mistakes. As I always explain in my classes that it is very necessary to hold your pencil very lightly and draw very lightly because if you make any mistake, you can easily correct it without going to damage your sheet. If you are going to draw very dark and then you are going to erase it, you will find that you have left so many marks on your sheet that will not look good once your art piece is going to be ready. So if you want a flawless art piece, or you want to showcase for a longer time and you want to get a feeling of pride after watching your artwork, please make sure that you are using pencil very lightly, and you are using eraser to correct your mistakes. Many times I come across the students who say good artists never use erasor. They simply drop the pencil and then it's done. But then I explain them that it is necessary that you understand the importance of eraser and the process of erasing and the skill to use the eraser in your artwork. It is not who is using and who is not using the eraser. It is who is using the eraser skillfully. By making the basic shapes, I have created the upper part of the Christmas tree. Now to draw the trunk of the tree, I'm going to use my pencil only. I'm going to draw two lines parallel to each other, a bit slanted at the ends, and then the ground area with a semicircle kind of a shape. Now draw the angelic star on the top of the Christmas tree. This is essential for any Christmas tree to have this angelic star. Basic drawing of the Christmas tree and the angelic star is done. Let's now move to the next step, which is outlining the drawing. I'm going to outline the drawing by using the black sketchpen. You can use the sketchpen that you have selected as per your artwork. As you can see here, the structure of the tree is not very rigid. Hence, we cannot underline or outline the drawing with very rigid lines or to outline everything with the same intensity. No. Here I am using my free hand to outline the things. I have made a rough with pencil. Now I'm outlining this pen and not everything is exactly onto the pencil. Some things are out of the pencil and some things are on the pencil because freehand drawing is what makes the trees look real. Oh. After this basic outline, take out your eraser, your great weapon again and start erasing those extra pencil marks on the sheet. This step is necessary here because there are so many pencil marks on the sheet that are not covered by the sketch pen. So erase very lightly so that your ink, do not spoil the sheet or your eraser, do not spoil the sheet with a very light hand, with a very light pressure on the eraser, erase out the extra pencil marks from it. Buzz off all the eraser waste from the sheet, this is very important. Use your arms, use your fingers to move that or you can also blow some wine on it, and you can also use a cloth to simply remove all that dust. Now I'm again using the pencil to draw some circles onto the Christmas tree. Here, drawing it with a pencil, you can draw it with the sketchpen itself because this is basic simple circle. And here also one thing to notice that I'm not drawing every kind of Christmas hanging here because that will make this look very messy. I'm not going to cover much of the sheet with the drawing because I have to cover the area with the entangles. I'm going to use this small area to show some gifts over here so that it look a good Christmas tree with some gifts over there. So just make simple gifts, make some boxes, and add some ribbon drawings over it. It will look like a cute, simple gift kept under the tree. So that is the basic idea here. You can keep two or more. You can keep the gifts on the both sides also, but I prefer to keep it on one side only. So let's do it. Now it's time to color out what we have drawn till now. So starting with the Christmas tree, I'm going to use green brush pen over this. But firstly, I'm going to use the red brush pen to color all the circles that I have made inside this tree so that the green colour will not spoil the area that I have to cover with the red colour. And I have to cover red color area very less amount and the area that I have to cover with green is greater. So it is very basic that we are going to use red color first. Be very sure that you are not running the shape. You are into the circle only while using the red brushpin. Simply color all the cherry kind of hangings with red. If you want to change the color, you are very much welcome to do so. But I suggest you to keep it only one color that highlights on green because we are going to add so much cen tangles in the background that if you are going to use much colors on the same sheet, it will look very messy and it will not give you the satisfaction of doing cen tangles all over around. So yes, you can go with the variations, but this is my suggestion for you. I'm now done with the red colour, and now I'm going to outline this so that this is separated from what we are going to do on the outside of the circle that is basically the green colour. This time, I'm outlining after coloring. Note this point because the area that I have to color with red is very small. If I'm going to do black color first, the water in the brush pen can rune it. So I want that circles to be brighter, so I have not mixed any black color into it. So I have outlined and everything done with a red force and then made an outline with the black so that it will not mix. Now, let us outline the gifts that we have made and the outline to be made with black is not compulsory. You can use any other color because you can use dark or light both while outlining the gifts because this is a gift that might be wrapped into something sparkling paper or some shining paper. Also the light outlining will work very well here. To start with coloring the green color into the Christmas tree. Make sure that while coloring, you are not going to take the color out of what we have outlined on the tree and you will not take the color inside the circle that we have made of red colour. You have to be very careful about this and you have to go very slowly. Here I am fast forwarding the process a bit so that you will not be bored much while looking into it. I have not fast forwarded the first first portion of it and I have forwarded the rest of the portions so that you are not going to get bored and not going to waste your time looking what I'm doing. I'm going to tell you the technique. You are going to try your hands on this instead. Going to fast forward a lot in this process so that you get to know the techniques and not going to look what I'm doing and doing because this is the same thing that I'm going to repeat in the whole process while coloring So just make sure that you are not going to leave any space in between. You are not going to cover out any other space that we have designated to red circles or we can say the outlines that we have made with black. So that is the basic purpose of this step. While looking at the video, you might feel sometime that I'm doing it very quickly and I'm not taking care of it. Still the work is doing better. No, it is not like that. I have taken so much time to complete this, and you also have to take time to take care of all the boundaries that we have to work on. Maybe the circle on it the outline everything. So it is not fast working by me. It is just the fast forwarded video that you are watching. Now for the trunk on the stem of the tree, we are going to use brown colour, and here you can use brown grey and brown pencil color also because that also gives the texture of wood. But I'm continuing with the brush pens here. A, you have to take care of all the boundaries that we have made, for example, the ground area and the trunk area that you should not exceed the trunk area that we have designated with a sketchpin only. Now is the time to colour the angelic star. We are going to color it by using a yellow colour brush pin, and you can use sparkle pin here also because sparkle pin also looks very, very beautiful with the Christmas tree on Angelic Star. Now, color the gifts with different colors because the gifts cannot be of the same color. So I'm going to use blue, pink. You can also color different ribbons on it, so that also looks beautiful. Color these as per your choice. So basic coloring and drawing of the Christmas tree is done in this lesson. So I just want to create and stand out border for this. In the next lesson, we are going to see how we can do that. So see you in the next lesson. Bye. 4. Making a Stand Out Border: Okay, so let's make a standout border in this video. In this lesson, I'm going to make the border by the help of a ruler and a brushman. Firstly, I have decided to make the borders using the black color, so I'm going to place a white sheet below my worksheet. This will cover the background which is black and will help me to identify the thickness of the border easily that I have decided to make. Firstly, I'm going to place the ruler like this on my worksheet, and then I will take the brushpen to draw the very thick outline because I have decided to make a standout border. I'm not making very light border. You can also use sketch pen or any other pen and do multiple layerings on it to make it thick. But here I'm using brushpen because in one or two strokes, this give me a very thick layer. That is the only wholesale reason to use the brush pen for the borders. I'm going to repeat the same process of making the thick outlines or thick borders on all the four sides for the rest of the border sides. Once you are done, you have to check whether the thickness of all four sides is equal or not. I have decided to make this thickness equal, but if you want, you can do it in unequal or unbalanced manner also. Here, I'm already taking care of thickness. That is why I'm not going to check it again and again. But if you want to do it in unbalanced way, you are most welcome in your drawings. We were using the white sheet in the background, so as we have to focus on the border color that was black, now we have to focus on the white color that is left while coloring the border. So we are going to remove the white sheet and check it on the black background because with the black background, it will be easy for us to find out where we have left the colog. So this is best way to check if there is some white space left in your sheet. Use the black background. I'm covering all the white space that is left in the border by using the black brush pen only. This can be another reason of using the brush pen for the border purpose. Because if you are going to use some sketch pen, pencil color or maybe the crayons, plastic crayons, it will be difficult for you to colour them back. So by using the black brush pen here, I'm solving a big problem here. So if you are facing such kind of problems, try to switch between the mediums with which you are coloring or creating. So this was all about this lesson. See you in the next lesson for more and tangles. 5. Process of zentangling: Welcome back to my class. In this lesson, we are going to enjoy and meditate with the process of entangles. Making entangles is the process of meditation and getting your thoughts moved free. With all the curves, the smaller and the longer ones, we are simply detangling our thoughts. The process of Zentangles allow us to draw freely, to express freely, to think freely, and to work freely. There are no limitations and boundations in Zentangles. You can draw lines straight or curved, smaller or longer, upside, downside, right side, left side, circular, straight, curved, any direction, any form, any shape you can draw. Zentangles allow us to slow down the process of thoughts, to slow down the speed of thoughts running in our mind. Drawing various shapes of various sizes with various designs and lines into it help us to identify the kind of thoughts we are having in our minds. W in this particular lesson, we have to fill each and every space that we have with the shapes, with the drawings, with the lines and everything. Filling the background so much with lines and shapes, and it is still looking simple and bright. Why? Because of the color combination that we have choosed for the tree, we choose the tree to be in a very simple colours, for example, green and red only. Remember, in my last to last lesson, I told you that please pick only two or three colors for the tree. This was the reason that our Zentangles in the background should overpower the whole artwork because the class is related to Zentangles only. If we had chosen so many colors in the Christmas tree itself, our background with so much shapes and lines would have been not in sync with what we have created till now. So just remember the shapes and lines are a very big content of zentangle rather than the middle design that we are creating. So keep the middle design, whether it is a Christmas tree in this class, or any other shape or design or any other drawing you are doing for practicing zentangles and meditating entangles. You have to keep it with simple colors, and the background should be more with lines and shapes and should be more of one color. This will look good. Here, I'm almost done with all the spaces that I had in the background, and this is truly looking good to me and I would love to see your project works now. So your project work is in the next lesson. Go and have a watch. Let's start with that. 6. Project Work: So here is your project work. Firstly, you have to draw a Christmas tree and then make its proper border. After making the border, go for the process of entangling and meditation. Click it picture and then upload the picture to the project and resource section of this class. I will be eagerly waiting for what you create in this class and what you have learned to showcase. So please upload soon, and it is a wrap for this class. I'm all done with the project work and my class. Please do not forget to review my class so that I can make my future classes based upon your reviews. Also, if you want to get more content like this from me, please do not forget to follow. You will get more updates if you follow me. Thank you so much for joining me in this class. Hope to see you in my next classes soon. Thank you. Bye.
