1. Introduction: Starting a YouTube channel could be quite lucrative. It is the norm. It is something which is very powerful to have, whether you're an entrepreneur, business owner, someone trying to grow your personal brand and share with the rest of world. YouTube is a very powerful starting point based on my experience as an entrepreneur, business owner, engineer, educator, and a professional, YouTube or a content creator, where my channel is growing per day, reaching thousands upon thousands of subscribers with over 400 thousands of s and counting per minimum. Based on the tactics that I'm going to be sharing with you in this current class, based on the lessons, tips, tactics, hacks, strategies that you need to apply just simply to eliminate the fluff. Most probably you have understood and what have you already realized if you are an owner of a small, a YouTube channel or a content creator trying to start a neTube channel. This class is very powerful for beginners. If you're someone who's quite professional in terms of YouTube, you could find some of these key insights very helpful to help you take your game to a different level. In this current class, I'm going to teach you what works in terms of YouTube search engine optimization. Most probably you have came to learn that it's very difficult to grow a YouTube channel, especially if you have zero views, zero subscribers, it is very, very difficult over 80% of YouTube channels de tend to fail. Why? Because due to the lack of knowledge, that's one, due to the contradictory knowledge, that's two and the lack of the actual technical insight and the proven mechanisms. Which actually work, and often they are not shared quite clearly and transparently with the rest of the community who are really aspiring to grow their YouTube channels. And this is what I'm going to be doing in this current class. I'm going to be sharing with you my expertise based on my successful YouTube channel, which I managed to grow over the years, through a lot of mistakes, through a lot of obstacles, many things which I've tried as the things that should work. They didn't work. On the other hand, I've discovered things which actually work. Rather than the see out of the normal practice, but they surprisingly work and I'm going to be sharing them with you in this current class, such that you have a clear blueprint for YouTube search engine optimization, SEO specifically for YouTube, which will help you leverage these tactics to grow your YouTube channel. That's one. If you are a complete beginner, a new county creator, someone who is planning to start a new YouTube channel, course is very powerful. It will save years of mistakes, years of going through obstacles. In a crash class, you're able to learn all of these. You're able to bypass the time frame needed to actually get to that level. I'm going to be sharing these details with you. I truly hope that you find it quite helpful and beneficial for your journey, based on my experience as a YouTube content reader, where my channel has over four k subscribers and growing per day. Over 400,000 views up to this current stage, probably if you're landing on the current video, it's going more and more every single day. And guess what? All of that is an autopilot. So once you set these things right, most probably whenever you go to my channel, you realize that there haven't been too many videos back to back where you have to upload every single day, every single minute. You got to have that schedule and when you need to apply, you do not want to miss an opportunity and all that stuff that you hear about posting a video on YouTube or art or how to grow your YouTube channel. On the contrary. Once you apply these tactics, the strategies, the tips that are going to be teaching you in this current class, you will realize you do not have to upload that often. Once you reach a certain level, your channel grows by itself. M channel is a living example of the tactics that I'm going to be sharing with you in this current class that actually works. Every month or so, If I do have the time because I'm quite occupied as a business owner, I need to have some time to actually craft tailor, design, shoot and release a video. It's time consuming, regardless of what you hear. It takes a lot of time to actually plan a proper video. Nevertheless, shoot one every single day. So in order to facilitate the process, especially if you're a business owner, you're entrepreneur. If you notice these lessons, they are very helpful to business owners, marketers. You need to act smart. You need to work smart rather than to just keep repeating the same things over and over again and hope things work out for the best. To save you time, save your effort, I'm going to share these tactics, strategies, tips with you in this current class, which have helped me in my own YouTube channel, and I truly hope it helps you Tube channel as well. 2. Your Project: Your project for the current class revolves around creating a YouTube video, applying the key tactics and lessons strategies. I'm going to be teaching you in this current class in order to help you video get search engine optimized and rank for search on YouTube, after which you are going to take a look at the analytics to assess the results and share your feedback with the rest of the community for insights. 3. What is YouTube SEO: First things, first, if you are a new beginner, you're learning about YouTube SEO, you to understand what is search engine optimization. First of all, Google is considered to be one of the biggest search engines, and most probably you have tried to use Google where you go on the search bar and you type a certain phrase or a certain keyword and you get a list of results. YouTube is the same analogy as Google, based on video. Once you go to YouTube, you get a search bar and you place a certain phrase, a certain keyboard, then you have a list of videos which have been populated based on your search query. Now, most probably, you ask yourself, how these results are presented to me based on my query. How is that established? How from millions and millions of videos uploaded every single day, these select few are shared based on that query. That's what we refer to as search engine optimization, in which once you type something into the search bar, your video should be optimized in a way to be picked by the YouTube algorithm to be represented for that specific search term? As simple as that sounds. The same logic applies for any search engine. On Google, whenever you type a phrase, you get links. You type a search keyword, you type a sentence, you get a couple of links, blog posts, for example, you click on them and you find and you scan through to see the results. However, when you go to a YouTube, it works the other way around. You are going to be presented by a list of videos, and these videos are going to be based on search query. The whole goal from this current class is to help your video get listed on that list after that search query, increasing the exposure of your video, also in turn, increasing the exposure to your own channel, which, by default, if you are using it for your own business, for your own personal brand will help you increase the exposure to that as well. So Search engine optimization revolves around refining the output based on a certain keyword input. How is that done? For example, in the case of Google, they have what we called as crawlers or bots. Once you have a certain page, Google will send bots or crawlers in the form of an algorithm to scan that web page, to scan that web page for certain keywords, which should match the search query. This what we called as relevance. It should be related to the search inquiry. For example, if you go to Google anytime how to boil an egg. Most probably the results that are going to be getting. All of them will include those terms, how to boil and eg, and the priority. Then as you scroll down first page second page third page, you've got other options which are related to it. So this is the whole target, how close are, how related RE to the actual search term. And the same applies to YouTube. Whenever you put on the search bar at YouTube, a certain keyword, a certain phrase, the YouTube algorithm will operate in the same way, trying to pick the videos which match your search query. This is in very simplistic terms, what we call a search engine optimization in which the search query is matched with a certain result in the best relevant way possible. 4. Why is Youtube SEO Important for YouTube Growth: Why is Tube SEO quite important? First of all, it saves you a lot of time and a lot of effort. Once you get these tactics right and these strategies right in terms of optimizing your video. To be discoverable by search on YouTube. Also on Google, by the way, if you get this right, you can show on both YouTube and Google. First of all, it increases the exposure. Every single time, someone searches for that specific term. Your video will pop out. And this could be an ever green video. Once we say evergreen, it could be timeless. One year from now, one month from now, I got videos, which have been uploaded over five years ago. T till today, they're actually growing my channel on a day to day basis. Once you approach this with, strategy tactics, rather than just simply throwing videos out there, copying what everyone else is doing and hope for the best. The things I'm teaching you are strategic. We approach this with a sense of technicality. We're trying to make this work the smart way. If you are a business owner, entrepreneur, working professional, you barely got time on your hands to release a video every single day. How would you benefit from YouTube? Is through optimization, especially if for a new channel. This is very critical for new channels. I mean by new channels, more channels, you get less than 1,000 subscribers and you're just simply getting started, and you're trying hard to get views, to grow your audience. These strategies, these tactics, the search engine optimization will help you get that traction to actually get the exposure for your channel, to attract some members, to grow your subscribers, and guess what? It gets easier along the way. Like I'm telling you, Mike channel is a living that. On a daily basis, on a monthly basis, Mel is getting hundreds upon hundreds of subscribers on autopilot. Why? Because from day one, that channel has been set up based on the tactics and the strategies, I'm sharing with you very transparently in this current class. It's very important to keep search engine optimization for you tube in mind because it will help you get the exposure over and over again. 5. The Four YouTube SEO Pillars for YouTube Growth and YouTube Automation: Now let's say you've identified a winning keyward. Now we're ready to shoot the video, you've done shooting the video, and you're ready to upload the video. Now, once you click upload on the YouTube page, you have three main elements to keep in mind. You got the title, the video description, and the tags. Well, a fourth element, which is the thumbnail, which is indirectly related to the search engine, but we're going to be covering it in the script class. These are the four key pillars to keep in mind, the title, the inscription, the tags, and the thumb nail. We're going to talk about every single one of them in turn with key important tips, tactics, tricks that you're able to implement to witness changes in terms of your YouTube search engine optimization results. 6. Important Note on Competition: Another important tip to keep in mind is to assess your competition. Once you've identified the potential keyword, once you put it on the YouTube search bar, take a look at the channels that you have. Go, go four, let's consider to be the weakest channel in the sense. What I mean by weakest, it means something a channel which has very low number of subscribers. And yet was able to rank for that vio. That's considered a very great opportunity. If you have a channel, which is, let's say, very close to yours, yet they are showing on the first page, it means you are able to rank for that as well. In order to assess the competition even further, examine that channel. Click on it. How many views does it have? Is that vio getting a lot of engagement, a lot of shares, a lot of comments? If so, it means the margin of competition is higher. So we need to be quite judgmentally here. But if the channel is fairly close to you in terms of the subscribers, it has fair views, not that many. The engagement is quite fair. It means it's a new channel, which is similar to you that managed to rank for that same search term. It means you have the opportunity as well. This is how you assess the competition for that specific search term easily. On the other hand, if you input a certain search term and you got a list of videos, a list of channels, and all of them, they got every single one of them, say, got over 1 million subscribers, over 1 million views on that top ten video list. It's quite difficult for you to squeeze in that competition, even though you could have a great idea. This is another pro tip to keep in mind as you assess your competition while you're doing your keyword research. 7. The Most Important Step for Your YouTube Channel Success and YouTube Growth : Now we're diving into the tips as tactics that you need to apply, straightforward, very concise, to actually see a difference in terms of your YouTube search engine optimization efforts. First of all, this was one of my biggest mistake that I've done. I started to create videos at the beginning with the whole idea that the more videos I put out there, the higher the chances that I'm going to have my channel succeed. But this is true partially. If the videos are well optimized, then the more videos that you put out there is going to work out for you. But if your vos just simply randomly shot randomly released, without any planning, without any consideration, let's say you have a 50 50 shot in terms of making it work. The first thing that you need to do before even shooting a video, releasing a video, editing a video, this is something which it took me years to identify, unfortunately, and I'm sharing it with you within a couple of minutes is keyword research. You need to make sure that you are actually researching the video, that you're planning on releasing without even releasing it. If you're planning on releasing a video, for example, on how to make French fries. Instead of jumping directly, start releasing the video, shooting a video and releasing it as is you need to increase the chances of it ranking in the first place. The first thing they need to do is do some keyword research. Now I'm not going to get into what tools to use and all that stuff. You can just simply go on Google and take a look at the Google planner and see what others are searching for. But because this is a subject for another day. However, when it comes to dealing with starting point, the first thing that we need to do is go through the keyword research part regardless of the tool. They are not 100% accurate, but they give you an indication of what other people are searching for. When you are keyword researching, there are two things to keep in mind. First of all, competition. Are there many big channels going for the same term that you're trying to shoot a video for? That's one, and the search volume. If you do have a lot of people searching for a single term. And then you do have a very high competition. The simplest way to take a look at there's competition or not, simply going and you do, type the name of the video that you would like to watch. Take a look at the list of the channels in the ten videos on the first page, take a look at them. Do all of them have more than 10,000 50,000 1 million subscribers, in other words, are all of them bigger than your channel. All of them are significantly bigger than your channel. You do have a popular term But you do have a lot of competition. Even though if you would like to shoot that video, the best thing to do is not shoot that video because though it could be really good, but unlikely it's not going to frankly speaking. The only way to make it rank is if you do have a really big channel, and you're competing with channels within the same caliber. Close margins in terms of the subscribers count, the same number of views. If this is close to you, then you do have a chance of your videos rank. Now, the stuff I'm sharing with you, most probably you've never heard them before, or they seem quite foreign, but you thank me later. Make sure that you apply them. It will save you time. Do not do my mistake. Do not replicate my mistake. Whenever you're planning to shoot a video, The first thing that you do, take a look at the search engine results from YouTube. You type in the phrase, take a look at the list of the videos populated for you. If all of the channels, first ten, all of them, they are bigger than your channel, they have a lot of views compared to your channel, they have a lot of engagement, a lot of comments compared to your channel. It is very unlikely that you will be able to compete and rank for that video, even though your video better. Keeping in mind, we're optimizing our videos at the stage for search engine on YouTube. On UT you get search engine optimization, you get suggested optimization. Now we're not tackling the suggestive videos, we're tackling the search based videos. These search based videos are optimal for new channels for beginners. This is where you start. This is where you hit the ground punting first, and then you could move to suggestive various because we'd like to get some results quite quickly. The suggestive varios, they take a lot of time for the algorithm to actually pick up your video and match it. It's something completely different. Our main focus over here is the search based varios. What we need to do is, we need to have some proper keyword research at the beginning. We need to make sure that we've identified a keyword, and preferably, something which is quite long, has a question, how to create a shirt using certain linen, for example. This is very specific. If you're able to find something very specific, it has a lot of search volume, very low competition, based on your knees, go for it. Because this will drastically increase your chances of franking your video. You need to have a lot of interest, lot of search volume for that specific keyword, and very low competition for low competition. How do you establish this? Very simply put, go on YouTube, type in that keyward, take a look at the results. Are you finding that exact term? Take a look at the number of views for the various videos. Are they high enough? Are you able to find channels close to you and they're able to get those views? If that's the case, there could be an opportunity over here. Now, there are various tools that you could use Peel fee to research those to actually find out the search volume and the competition for those keywords. But I'm giving you the j, the insights that you need to keep in mind on the first step. Do proper keyword research before clicking that play button. This is very crucial. You could have a very well optimized video. Perfect editing. Very high resolution, great messaging. Everything is perfectly fine, but there's a lot of competition out there. So unlikely your video will ever show on the search results, unfortunately. So we need to be smart and the way to do it with the first step, you need to identify the keyword which has high search volume, very low or low competition. Based on your own nee based on your own criteria or subject matter expertise, then you go for it. 8. Title SEO Optimization and The Ranking Power : One of the most important determining factor for your search engine optimization is the efforts is the title, the YouTube video title. Now the things I'm want to be sharing with you, most probably, you haven't heard them elsewhere. When you are trying to craft a title, you need to keep these things in mind. First of all, you have identified a keyword. You're shooting a video with a keyword in mind, you've noted down a keyword. For example, cooking a cheesecake. This is one keyword, cooking a cheesecake. Now, It is very important in order to successfully rank your video, that that keyword, the keyword of choice is present in the YouTube title of the video. So that video title, the amount of characters that you have on YouTube, first page, the YouTube title, you need to make sure that the keyword that you're aiming for or you're planning to shoot the video up on is actually present. Because if that keyword is not there, by default, your rankings will plummet drastically. We're aiming to optimize our videos for search. The first thing that the videos are scanned for is the title. And if the title is very close to the search term, this means that we have what call as a high relevance score. It means the video is very related to the search query. Therefore, the chances of a ranking is quite higher. The key take from this current class or from this current lesson at this current stage is to keep the keyword in the title. That's one. Now, this is the advanced protein. The order of the keyword in the title makes a difference, and this is often that you haven't come across elsewhere. So what I mean by that. If in the title of the YouTube video, the keyword is placed at the beginning of the title, this has the highest ranking power. If it's placed somewhere in the middle, as is, this has the second highest ranking power. If the keyword is split to parts, as we have mentioned, let's say, how to bake a cheesecake or how to make a cheesecake. If we have the entire term, how to make a cheesecake at the beginning. This has the highest ranking power. If we have, for example, cook with passion, how to bake a cheesecake, how to bake a cheesecake. Afterwards, this has the second highest ranking power. Let's say, learn how to cook something delicious, such as a cheesecake. We've split the keyword. We've taken the how the cheesecake, and we have put it in the title. Even though the main keyword has been broken down to, let's say, sub keywords or sub words, and they are injected in the title, this has the third ranking power. This is the order. In order to have the highest ranking power, the keyword should be placed at the beginning of the title. The second option is to place it somewhere in the title but maintaining the full keyword as it is. The the weakest option is to actually split the keyword into its components and inject them in the title. This is up to you. As you are trying to rank your videos, obviously, once you shoot a video and you release a video, there are stages where you need to further optimize it. This is where you go to the analytics to see is the video doing well? Is it ranking You could rank your video with the third ranking strategy for the title or the second. If things are really not working, go for the first one. Even though it looks quite though, there's nothing catchy about the title, but it serves the purpose because our purpose is to match that query from the search with that specific video. This is our end. 9. SEO Optimization for the YouTube Video Description: So we're done with optimizing our title for search. Now we're transitioning to an e hidden element, which is often not talked about, the description of the video. Now on YouTube, the description part actually works the same way you have a blog post. It gets scanned for keywords as well. If you've got a well optimized title based on the tactics that I've taught you earlier, once you're crafting a video description, take the opportunity to include the keyword that you're optimizing your video for in the first three lines of the description. Keeping in mind, what I'm teaching you is quite specific. No general advice, apply them without the fluff and you will see results. For the first three lines, inject the keyword you're optimizing your video for. In the first three lines, why? Because the same way it works on the Google Search, the Metadata, the first three lines pop on the search bar as well. When you go on YouTube, try to search for video, you notice you have video titles and you get small lines, a couple of lines under them, which include similar keywords, one to two lines. In the first three lines, once you put in the keywords that you're trying to rank four, the main keyword. In addition to any additional keywords that could be searched in the search board. Feel free to inject them into three lines as well. First three lines. If you're done with that, then as you go about the description, you add more context of description. You add these keywords, the main keyword and any supplementary keywords that you are going to be adding into the description, which will help you give your video even a higher push. Not just for the main keyword that you're shooting the video for, but for supplementary keywords related to the same topic because different people they search for different terms on YouTube and they use different word arrangements and they have a different way of searching, right? So the more options that you have, the more search terms that you're ranking for, guess what? You get more traffic now, which is very powerful because from one video, you're able to rank it across various search terms and get the traffic from all of them. This is a very pro tip that you need to keep in mind. Once you optimize the title based on the on the lesson I've taught you earlier, once you go for the description, You focus is on the first three lines. You have some keywords from the search part, you get a list of options that people search for. You could pick a couple of them and try to inject them in the description. This will help you rank for your own keyword in addition to other keywords which have been searched and another another hack. Even though on YouTube, it's mentioned that tags are quite irrelevant, just the final part that're going to be talking about. In the next lesson. If you found any tags that you've added in the tag section, feel free to inject them in the description as well. Tags, they serve as secondary search terms. You get the main keyword which you have optimized your video for, but like we have mentioned, different people use search differently, but they revolve around the main keyword. Once you identify from the drop down list on the search bar, various options, try to add them on the tags in the tags and in the video and the video description as well, and take the opportunity. In the video description to link to other videos on your channel. Once you've optimized the description like I'm currently teaching you, use the opportunity to add links to other videos. This will help pull the ranking of other videos. If the video is something quite powerful or it has ranked really high. Once you link to it, Within this video and within the other video like cross linking between them, it will help give it a boost as well in terms of the ranking. Use the description quite wise. It's not just simply a matter of putting your socials on there. That's mainly on the contrary. Have it properly. Designed description, optimized description. First three lines to include all the relevant keywords. Of course, no keyword stuff. You got to make it humane. Then add some more details. For example, links to your website, links to other videos, links to your socials and add some hashtags, hashtags based on the topics. Yes, hashtags are going to help you because it will show your videos for people following certain hashtags on YouTube, since YouTube shorts is a big deal right now. You're covering all grounds in the description to help increase the chances of your video ranking quite high. 10. Tags Optimization for a Powerful Boost: Then once we've optimized our title, we've optimized our description, we're going to optimize the tags. Often on YouTube, once you apply the tag ss they're quite irrelevant. Well, there's nothing wrong with think about the video as like a package like a box, and you're adding ribbons and banners to it, hopefully giving it an extra push. The tags, which you know for sure, that they should be there. You can add them to your YouTube video and the beauty of the tags is. These terms within the tags, you need to add them in the description because such tags will get a push through the description of the video in addition to the title. That way, you have a full package, you got a title which is optimized, you get a description which is optimized, you get tags which supplement your title and the description. That way, your YouTube video at this current stage has all the components that will help it get pushed and increase its relevance for search queries. 11. The Window of Opportunity for Ranking and Going Viral: Optimized our video, the title, the description, and the tax, we've clicked published the video now is live. We're not done yet. This is very advanced. This is something which is not quite talked about because the next 24 hours after the release of the video are crucial and here's why. Once the video is released on YouTube, automatically, give it a couple of hours. Go and search on the YouTube search bar for that specific search term. Most probably you're going to find your video on that list. Now, YouTube once publishes a new video, it gives it an opportunity to just simply drizzle down the search options. When people engage with it more, it slows down the process. You go from one, two, three, four, keeps falling down. Think about your video being thrown at the top results and simply falls down towards the bottom to the dark hole of YouTube. How do we capitalize all this?
