Teacher

I'm Ketan, a Brand Consultant and the Founder of Brandzpree. I love writing blogs and creating videos on topics like Branding, Logo Design, Brand Identity, Brand Strategy, and Graphic Design.

I created Brandzpree to support and educate fellow branding lovers, and at the same time, help start-ups and small businesses turn into huge brands that people love and relate to.

I'm a huge fan of 'Minimalism' - the idea of "Less is More". And, this is one major principle that I try to incorporate in my designs, blogs, videos as well as in the way I live my life. Another cool principle I love to use in my design is Geometry!

1. Class Trailer: Branding is a multidimensional discipline that shapes how a business is perceived in the minds of consumers, and creating this perception requires an intricate blend of three fundamental fields of study. Hey Guys! My name is Ketan, I'm a brand consultant and the founder of a branding firm called Brandzpree. And, welcome to a new mini-class in my branding-focused series, here on SkillShare called, "Branding Bites". In this class, we'll look into the three fundamental components that make up the field of branding. Creating a successful brand involves the knowledge and significant expertise, particularly in these core fields of study, which are Business and Psychology, Graphic Design, and Communication. 2. Class Project: As part of the class project, please list three famous companies and try to explain why they could be considered as a "brand" by writing about the perception that each of these popular businesses tries to create in your mind. Upon completing the project, please upload your work to the "My Project" area in the 'Projects & Resources' section of the class. Also, keep an eye out for any interesting guides and resources available in this section. 3. Business & Psychology: The business side of things includes a few aspects of business studies that form the essential initial steps in the branding process, such as industry research, market study, business model development, and competitor analysis, to name a few. And, psychology involves understanding the human mind and people's behavioral patterns through the use of psychology-driven branding tools such as target demographic study, customer journey maps, color psychology, shape psychology, etc. 4. Graphic Design: Also referred to as Visual Communication Design, this field deals with conveying a particular message to the intended people through the use of appropriate visuals like colors, images, patterns and illustrations. The sub-fields of graphic design that are most relevant to branding include: brand identity design, print design or editorial design, packaging design, UIUX design, motion design, or motion graphics. 5. Communication: In the context of Branding, communication refers to how a brand talks and behaves with potential customers as well as existing customers. It includes the development of a consistent tone of voice for the brand's messaging and advertising campaigns that its target audience would relate to. The communication component is what supports the lead generation and the sales of the business, since it acts as a direct medium of bringing people to the brand. 6. Conclusion: Though there are various interdisciplinary fields that make up branding, a successful brand is only when all of them work together to create a strong perception that perfectly resonates with its target audience. The three overlapping components mentioned in this class give rise to three more subfields that form the crucial stages in a typical branding process, namely, brand strategy, brand identity, and marketing. For a much deeper understanding of the branding, business, and design world, please check out all the other classes listed on my SkillShare profile page. And if you found this class interesting and insightful, please feel free to leave an honest review about the class. Thanks a lot for joining in. I'll see you in a different class. Have a wonderful day!
