Hello there! I am a passionate watercolour artist, and I'm here to share the magic of this versatile medium with you. Contrary to popular belief, watercolour is easier than it seems, and I truly believe that everyone has the potential to create beautiful art.

My love for watercolour is deeply rooted in the joy of capturing life's most memorable moments in my ever-present sketchbook. Alongside these cherished sketches, I also take great pleasure in creating full-size watercolour paintings that bring vibrancy and depth to the canvas.

As a mother, I've discovered the delight of sharing my passion for watercolour with my daughter. It's not only a wonderful way to bond with children, but also a creative outlet that nurtures their artistic growth.

Let me guide you on this... See full profile

1. Intro: Hello. My name is Natalie, and I'm a watercolor artist, sketcher, and drawing instructor. Lately, I deal deeply into the study and depiction of the sea. It's exciting sheets and its changeable mood. This passion has led me to create a series of watercolor lessons dedicated to maritime seams. I invite you to the first of four lessons, and this will be a true journey into the world of sea colors and techniques. Together, we will immerse ourselves in the atmosphere with the sea. Learn to convey its movement and light and explore different approaches and methods so that each of your strokes brings the canvas to life. Now, is a perfect time. Turn back on this exciting, maritime adventure. Grab your brushes, get ready for new discoveries, and let's create something magnificant together. 2. Plot and materials: Glad to welcome everyone to today's lesson. And I suggest we draw a beautiful scene together. I can see in come weather and I see this is a perfect scene to start with when exploring maritime themes. Today, I will show you how easy and quick it is to draw such gentle waves. Let's start with an overview of the materials. What will we need today? First and foremost, a watercolor paper. I usually use ba home paper, cotton called press 300 gram squreimre density. You can draw in a sketch book or on a separate sheet, it's up to you. The most important thing is that I suggest securing it with pinta tip so that is fixed and it doesn't move. You can fix it on a drawing board or directly in the sketch book. If you don't have a drawing board, you can use a sick piece of cupboard. Next are watercolor paints. I have chosen three colors, Coval turqore, celium and dantron bloom. You can use the same colors, or if you don't have the shades, pick something similar. The most important thing is to have a light airy blue shade and a rich blue. If you don't have dontron blue, you can take any deep dark blue, or the most common color available everywhere, ultramarine. Just darken it slightly with gray form or black to make it less bright. Though you can choose to make it very bright if you prefer. It's up to you. We tissues to dub off the liquid and remove excess moisture and water container and brushes. Actually, I plan to paint this scene with one brush. But the most popular combination that can bring any sent to life is a medium sized soft squirrel head brush or a synthetic squirrel head brush. The main scene is that it has a sharp tip. Then you can paint everything perfectly. The second brush should be synthetic, resilient, the bristles firm, absorbing less moisture and also with a sharp tip. 3. Watercolor drawing: Let's start. Now, I will explain the action plan. We will make a gradient wash from top to bottom, and note that the sky is darker at the top. We start with a dark blue color, then fill it with light blue, the closer to the horizon, the light to the sheet. Now we prepare the color so that later we don't get distracted by mixing them. I chose oval Turks and Sul because I really like the combination. Separately N would have suited me. Now let's star little we'll start with a dark color. We take the paint from the tube sick with enough water to make such a wash. Let's start feeling gradually blending it into the light sheet. Add water. And such a light color, you can go down to the very bottom. Now, we will take the dark color, start drawing as if moving upwards. Here is a wet as area now and we will start working with it because here very smooth transitions. We take the pain to prevent it from spreading and try to repeat the patterns drawn by the sea. If the paint runs too much, it means that you have taken too much liquid. Makes the paint sickly. And then outline the Cors. The father, the tin. You can also define the horizon by the pin. Continue drawing with light movements. Okay. Now, we take a really rich dark color and add contrast where we want to deepen the color. I want to dark on the front part a bit more. Now I rinse my brush and gently soften the tradition so that it doesn't stand out too much. Why. Let me show you what makes a synthetic brush different. A synthetic brush itself picks up less moisture and produces proce lines. That is in the background here are exactly was. I will draw them now. Make sure they are not all the same to prevent the picture from being symmetrical, let there be a dark areas, lower on the one side, higher on the other. But don't over detail the distant view because our attention is a bit in another area. More precisely, we detail here, and pay attention here on the light areas. You can directly play such dark spots. Also draw waves. This will add details and slightly enliven our scene. I paint the excess details, this light area too large, it seemed. I soften the edges with a soft brush. Let's see where else you might want to specify something and don't forget to stop in time. I want to show the distance a bit more precisely. Flop the brush slightly in this way and draw water near the horizon line. I think it turned out exactly what we wanted to convey. Let's take a look. Let's add a few more waves here. And on this, we will stop. Now I will dry the sheet. And after that, I can remove the tape. And let's see how the final vision will look. Well, what about the favorite part of the work? Be sure that the shed has dried so as not to damage that walk. Okay. The sketch is ready. This lesson can train you different techniques. To make a gradient feel to walk on wet paper, just to work with a dry and wet brush. Try it and be sure to share your art. I'm very curious to see. 4. Outro: And so our first swim has come to an end. I hope you enjoyed the soft gentle painting session. I sincerely try to make it not only engaging, but also informative. Don't miss our next lesson, which promised to be particularly exciting. We will move on to a completely different unusual and interesting thing, which I'm sure will inspire you to new creator fits. Son and medio creativity will always bring your joy and satisfaction.
