1. Introduction: Hello, welcome. In my class, my name is and Grabowski Krupa. I think it will be hard for you to spell, but I'm watercolor painter. Watercolor painter. And in this short class, I'm going to teach how to paint a very beautiful and easy watercolors succulent. I think that every beginner, we'll get through this steps very easily. So you don't have to have any previous knowledge about water colors. So I hope you will enjoy my class and see you in the next lesson.
2. 1. Colors: Today I'll show you what we'll be using to paint such a characters, such as soccer and characters. So first, we'll need watercolor paper for sure. I'm using Gamma water color, 300, watercolor paper, which is 300 grams. And it's got 10 sheets of paper. Okay, so we've got paper covered. We'll be using watercolor pens. I've got this little set from Roman nochmal. It's a Polish company page and it's designed for art. It's outdoor implants. So despite was designed for their birthday. They are 40 years on the market. So but I love this color, so I'm used to using this. Today. I will be using colors Hansa, yellow followed blue, quadrant, magenta, and by Payne's gray. So you can choose or use your own watercolor. Colors. Could ever brand to your half. You can use. Similar similarity to this colors. Also, I will be using separate sheet of watercolor paper to test my colors. I will be using tracing paper to trace the outline to travel gave you into this course, onto watercolor, watercolor paper. So to stick with the tracing paper onto watercolor paper, I'll be using quotient tape. Also. I will be using glass with clean water. Mixing palette. I'm using a plastic one, pretty simple. And we'll be using watercolor brushes. This one is from Winsor and Newton and it's number eight. And I will also be using my brush, number 4. Number 4 brush. At the beginning, I will show you the colors, once again, showing you the chorus for you to see how they look like. So the first color we'll be using will be, once again, look back onto pallets covered. So we'll be using hansa yellow. It's a very bright color, very bright shade of yellow. So we'll be using hansa yellow. We'll be using fallow blue. It's green shade of blue. I don't see this green tint in that shade, but it's on the cover of the palate. It says that it's green shade of blue. But whatever infallibly have, I think it will be great. We'll be learning how to mix different shades of green from this two or even three colors. The third color will be magenta or quadric con magenta, but the regular magenta we'll define a regular pink will be fine. And also the last color will be, think Payne's gray. But if you don't have Payne's gray, the regular block also would be fine. So don't worry if you don't have Payne's gray. And in today's cars will be using only these four colors. And we'll be learning how to mix different colors from this four basic one.
3. 2. Outline: So the first thing we will do will be transferred to follow our sketch from this drawing to our watercolor paper. To do that we will be using tracing paper. So we taught our tracing paper on water color paper. Seconds we will place our outline on it and stick with the washi tape. At the top. When you do that, you're even when you move your paper, it won't hurt your drawings. So it's better to have done it, to stick it to the paper with your washi tape for this drawing not to move. So when we have done that, we can start tracing our outlines with penicillin. And we only outlined as bigger the shapes of the leaves. We don't transfer it down. Shading of the leaves Today to our work. This shading will help us. Then while we paint to know where exactly we have shadows, shadows are where exactly we have flights on our paintings. So for now, we only draw around the leaves. I'm not transfer, transferring into the shadows. If you're not sure what it is that you have drawn after, you can simply dick Tracy paper and your sketch up and see what you have. I see that I have a very strong outlines so I don't need to not push so hard with my palate seals. So I'll try truss lighter. Let's check if everything to say. Oh, we missed something in here. Rather. It's rather I have missed some leaves at the top of the cacti. So let's draw it. I suppose it's all, let's check once more. I think we have everything. Now. I've missed one leaf in here, so I've missed this one. Let's see all I think it's ever gain covered. We have all so sure. I've got everything and just remove my sketch my outline with the tracing paper. And we'll be moving to the next step.
4. 3. First wash: Okay, so the next thing we're going to paint will be the light wash of our cacti. So first, we will be mixing a very soft shade of green, and we will be mixing it with two colors. Actually. Even tree, we will be mixing it with our yellow hansa yellow color and fallow blue. But some water on my palette. So also we'll be using a bit of magenta. To do that. Put a lot of water onto my palette because I want it the shade of green to be very soft and light. That's why I'm putting a lot of water here for my mixing palette. Then I will add a bit of blue. See how beautiful green we have. I will show you how the screen looks like, only created with yellow and blue and follow through. It's okay, but I, but I need a very light shade of green. That's why I will put more water on my palette To make it even lighter. So let's check how the ClO, how the screen looks like. I need a very pale shade of green and I think this will be okay, but this is too bright for me. I would like to have a very muted color. That's why I will use a bit of magenta. Mix, a bit of magenta into my green color and see how it is promoted, it gets. So let's check once more how the color looks like. You see, this is a mutated version of this first green. And when we had that color, we will be painting alone. I'll be painting the whole cacti leave. Finally, if you to paint one leaf and you notice that your color is too dark, then simply grew up only water onto your brush. And simply with that water on your brush, move the color around the leaf, then it will get lighter. Freewill dependent Inc, each live separately. And now we'll view moving around my cacti. I will not paint leaves which are next to each other because I don't want the color to bleed between lives. That's why I'm painting. One here, another dire next here. While this dries, I will paint next to this, to this one. So without much talking, let's paint. And also when you need a smaller brush because I'm using a number 8, just grab it. If it's easier to you to paint with a smaller number, then simply crop it. I use the tools which are coastal. Yes. Next picture. Okay. Okay. And so this is the first layer.
5. 4. Second wash: So when our first layer is dry, we'll be painting a set second layer of color. So to do that, we again need to mix color. This color will be a bit darker than the previous one. So I'm going to use the previous scholar, but I will add some more pigment into it. So once again, I will add a little water to a yellow color. Once again, at fallow blue. Some follow blow at how dark the color is. So is it darker than the previous one? And also, I will mix it really a bit just on the tip of the brush, magenta to mute this color down. And this shade of green is okay, so, well starting to paint with this new color. But you need to make sure that the first layer is fully dry. And once again, we'll be painting Khalif by leaf, but this layer, well, we'll start to paint from the inside to the outside. From the inside of the leaf to the outside. And also we'll, we'll leave some unpainted areas next to the border of the lives. And the technique is that first I will put some water onto my raphe. Then I will clean my brush into the water with the water. Then with a clean but fresh, I will be mixing my paint into the leaf. I want the color to blend slightly this darker. This second layer of color blend slightly into the previous one because this first layer, and I'm doing it with water. So let's do this one, the second leaf. Let's do this again. For example, with this big wave. First, I'm picking some paint, which I have mixed earlier. Paint on the live, but from the inside of the leaf, leaving this unpainted areas next to the border. And with the clean brush with the water. I'm moving the paint around the leaf. I'm blending it with the previously. If you think that you have too much water on your leaf, simply dry your brush with tissue and pick this too much water, which you will have on a leaf for this dry brush. And we'll be painting each leaf with this technique. So let's start painting without much ducking. Let's start painting. And I think it will be easier for you with the smaller brush. I switched to number 6, but I think also even smaller than sixfold, be nice and will be more comfortable for you to paint. So is the bigger brush is too hard to you to master then switch to thank you. And our shape for the fall with every step. Oh, I forgot to share that. I should start from the inside. Outside. Simplify this a bit darker shades inside. So we finished the second player, just like before, the first layer. The second layer to the next step. Okay, So this is our coffee after second layer. Just as I said before, this layer also showed try. I've noticed other than paint on, this layer also showed a try before we move to the next one. So see you on the next morning.
6. 5. Purple tips: So hello. In step number 3, this time, we will be painting the tips of the leaves. And to do that, we will be mixing purple shade of, purple shade. To do that we will use I've got a crowd, crowd recall com, magenta. But it could be any magenta you have mixed with the blue. Let's see. What do we have? I see right now that it's Tupelo. I need to mix more magenta in it and more water. So I'm mixing more magenta because I see that it's too thick. I'm mixing more water into it. And this is better. This one is better, but I would like to have more pinkish tone. That's why I'm mixing more magenta and also water because I would like to have not so dark color, not so dark shade. And this one is perfect. To paint the tips of the leaves, we will be using a smaller brush. I'm using my number three brush. First, I will show you the technique. So the first, the second player is trying now, Powell put this color onto my brush. And let's see, and from which leaf also we will, we will be painting if lift by a leaf. So let see from which we start, for example, this one. We paint only on the edges, on the top edges of the leaf. Next, I clean my brush but don't water. And what this clean wet brush. I'm moving next to my paint to blend it with the previous layers. So it looks like this. I can put more paint here about the previous version or was also fine. So I will show you once again on the second player stiffening. So we paint on the edge of the leaf up the top of the leaf. Next, I clean my brush with water and clean air and water. We push. I'm painting with the clean water over the edge of my paint. So in my kit. For the previous layers, the same. We are doing this steps with all of our lives. Like it's even a quicker. Sometimes I just, for example, first, tree leaves, only the tops. The tops of the leaves. And while the spend is still dry, I'm cleaning my brush and clean water to my brush. Moving the paint around, just using just some of the leaves in one step. So for example, here will be a second patch of the leaves. But remember that you have to do it this far, this far bokeh shape. Try. So this five-fold keeps on some leaves without it. And it still is fine. This purple. So it's your choice. How much goes to say like them to be sometimes quite dark. It creates interests when they are not the same. Okay. Perhaps in here because some, it looks quite different when all the sleeves has purple tapes and this 1 thousand. So I'm changing that and I think this step is over. So before we move to the next step, we once again must wait until this. There is tri, so see you in the next step.
7. 6. Details: We'll paint some more details on our cocktail. To do that, we need very dark shade of green, which we will be mixing. Of course, just like you noticed, we mixed every color you use. So I'm starting on the previous color which is almost empty and dry. I'm putting some water in it. Doing this because we will be using this same, almost the same colors. But this time we needed this shades to be very dark. Sky. Comforting bit of yellow. To this mixture. I mixed vary. And then one ish, show the brain. I'm putting into it to shun fallible, not Prussian blue. And this shade of green, It's like it's got a bluish tone in it. And it's quite dark. But I want it to be darker, even darker than this. So I need more paint and less water, just like you see it on. And I I also need a bit of pins gray, just on the tip of the brush. And let's see what we get. What we've got. I think I'll mix some more Payne's gray if you don't have pens, creditors use black if you have. So I'm mixing more wince cry. And I think this shape is quite, quite a ride. And also pink picking a smaller brush. Number six will be using six. But if you have something like four or tree will be better. I don't have, I just lost my four. Number four, That's why I will be using six. And once again, we will be painting Khalif by leaf. But right now we will be painting, painting the shades. So places where the leaks gave us some shapes. So mostly on the inside of the inside of the leaf. And once again, with the clean brush. We will be mixing paint with the previous layers. And this accent, I will live that way as it is. Because I want to simulate that is on stem of the leaf. That it's so stem of the leaf. So I will leave it that way. Next. We'll paint this one is all black with cause it's very small leaf and it's the inside of the cacti, so it's usually very dark. This one I will live for now because I want this tree to dry. And after they dry, paint this, this one and this one. I'm painting here some more. And also leaving some marks to simulate the artist terms of the peacock t. But if you don't like them, you don't have to place them on your lips. It's optional. You don't have to if you'd like. I think the leaf, so it will get darker. Phones which are at the top. So when it doesn't, doesn't have to be perfect, Let's paint a Zuko. Go with the paint and the brush guide you. So I wanted to be a joy from you too. You don't have to stress that it doesn't came exactly how it's on my drawing. Because it's I think it's a beauty of watercolor is that no two paintings are the same. So I will move. So I made some market share still when it's wet and I've got a dry brush. Let's just try this code up. Subscript, try it. Before it tries. We finish just a few left. I missed here. I didn't even missed. I just left them to paint at the end. So our plane, this barriers areas. And I'm also painting some more marks here for example. And here I think this will be, this will be our last Marx. It's our last layer. I hope you enjoy the painting would mean I would like to see all of your works. I think you can also search for different kinds of succulents over the net or over the Pinterest and make your own sketches and paint with me. I would like to see all of your pictures, so please put it into gallery class gallery. And thank you for watching and see you in the next class.
