2. Organizing Project Files: Before we start creating a
project in Adobe Premiere Pro, you need to have your
project finds organized by categorizing your project assets into separate sub-folders. It will be easier for
you to input them into Premiere Pro as well as to find them whenever
you need them. The folder structure
that I use is a numbered parent folder
for every new project. Also, I add that folder too quick access to access
the project files quickly. Inside the project folder, I use several
sub-folders based on the media files that I'm going
to use for that project. The most common ones
or video clips, where I keep all my
video files that I shot or downloaded audio clips. Here rise to all the
voice recordings, background music, and sound
effects that I wanted to use. Images. I store all the pictures
that are images, GIF files and logos here,
adobe project files. This is the folder
where you will be saving the Premier
Pro project file, which contains all your
editing information regarding the project. You might need to access them
later if you want to make some changes or revisions to your edits, Render Output video. We will use this folder to export the rendered final video. Sometimes you might need to make toward more versions
of fluoride it like using different effects or different background music. It's a drug using a separate
folder for exporting rendered video avoids confusion with the source video clips. Moreover, it will be easier
for you to find or access it when you upload this video to YouTube or other
online platforms.
3. Create a Project: When you install Adobe
Premiere Pro on your computer, you will be welcomed by
this home or start spring. Once you have started working on projects in Premiere Pro, you can see your most
recent projects you have done here in
this Start screen. Alternatively, if you want to specifically open any
previously worked on projects for the
purpose of making any revisions or to continue our work in
progress project. You can click on this
open project button to open any previously
saved project. Since you are new here, we need to start a new project. So click on the New
Project button. You will need to choose
a name and location. Let's name it known
video editor project, and go to choose location. Let's save it in the subfolder. Adobe project files inside the Premier Pro for non
video editors folder. Once you are in the subfolder, click the Select Folder button. Traditional ways of importing videos or discussed
in the next video. Premiere Pro has introduced
this new import, edit and export taps. Since version 22.3. Under this import data, you can browse to any folder you want by clicking on these
links in the sidebar. Then navigate to any folder where your video and audio clips or let me open desktop Premier
Pro for non video editors. And then open video
clips folder. This is where I have saved the videos to be used to
teach you this course. You can also watch the clips from left to right
to see the preview. If you don't have
this thumbnail view, make sure you have switched to the thumbnail view from the list view to
preview the clips. You can also adjust the size of these thumbnails by
moving this slider. After previewing. If you want to import the
clip into the project, first, you should select it. You need to select this
checkbox to select the clips. If you can see the checkbox, just mouse over the clip
to view the checkbox. If we want to import
multiple clips, you can select multiple clips. Just continue checking
the checkboxes of multiple clips
to select them. If you have previously
organized all your clips, like we discussed in
the previous lesson, all of your video clips
would be in the same folder. So you can easily select all the video clips you need
inside a single folder. If you want to select
the audio clips or images which are
in another folder. Or if you want to select some more video clips which are in a different
folder than this, then you can do that too. You don't need to click
on the Create button now and start all over again. Just navigate to
the folder value or other clips or
and select them. After selecting the clips. The clips will appear here
in the bottom as thumbnails. If you have mistakenly selected
some additional clips, or if we have decided to remove some clips
from your selection. For any other reason, just click on the thumbnails here and remove them by
pressing the Delete key. You can add or delete clips later in the project panel two. On the right side, you have
a few other options too. You can choose to copy these media files to where
you save your project files. Since we have a better
way of organizing files, we don't need this. Else. This option copies
all the media files that you have selected across various folders to the folder where you
saved your project. In our case, it would be this folder, Adobe
project files. New bin means a new folder. Instead of importing
the media files directly into the project panel, this option will
create a new folder, aka new bin, and inputs, all the media files
inside that bend. It won't create a new
folder in your storage. It just creates a new folder inside the project panel alone. You can also choose to
create a new sequence from here itself and
give a name for it. To understand what a sequences. Let me give you this example. To edit this course. In the Premiere Pro, I would have created a project in the
name of this course. But inside the project, I would have created many sequences and each
one for each lesson. In case of wedding videos, you can create a new
project for a wedding, but different sequences
for engagement video, wedding video and highlights. At this stage, you might
not understand what a bin or a sequence or
project panelists, as you're not seeing it. We will discuss all
these in the next video. When I explain to you the
premier pro workspace. So for now, let me uncheck
these things and click create. All the files we have selected are important here into
the project panel. This is how Adobe Premier
Pro workspace looks like.
4. Workspaces in Premiere Pro: Learning, assembly,
editing, color, effects, audio,
caption, and graphics. These are the default workspaces that are available
in Premiere Pro. If you can see these workspaces, click on this
Workspace button and select Show workspaces tab. If you can find this
workspaces button itself, then update your Premiere
Pro to the latest version. Premier Pro has a lot
of panels inside it, or what we used to
know as windows, each serving its own purpose. You will need different tunnels at different stages
of video editing. That's why they are organized in different sets and
different workspaces. When you click on any
of the workspaces, these different sets
of panels appear. The existing ones also
get rearranged and resized to make the best
use of the space available. For example, assembly Workspace displays a big project panel, source monitor run
program monitor, one behind the other, along with Timeline
panel at the bottom. This will be useful to assemble clips from
the project panel, preview them in
the source panel, and then assemble them in
the timeline panel easily. Let's go to the
editing workspace. Here the project panel
has become smaller. And the source monitor, as well as the program monitor
or arranged side-by-side. This, these suitable when you do editing in the
timeline sequence. Color workspace is best suited for color correction and
color grading of footage. If you want to give a
cinematic look to your video, this is where you do that. Here you can see
Lumetri Scopes on the left and Lumetri
Color panel on the right. The Lumetri panel is used to do color correction or grading. The Lumetri Scopes panel is used to examine the
color of a clip. Effects workspace is to
be used while applying video or audio effects and transitions to your video at it. It will show an effect
controls panel on the left, and effects panel with a list of effects and transitions
on the right. Effect Controls panel shows different properties of effects that are applied
to the timeline. You will find this
workspace comfortable to find various effects
and customize them, or add animations
using keyframes. You can also manually rearrange the balance or re-size the panels to based
on your comfort. If you want to view a particular
panel in full screen, then press Tilda key
on the keyboard. You can find this key
below the escape key. Press it again, come
back to normal view. Sometimes you might
close some panels. And as a beginner, you might not even remember
what it is that you closed. In that case, you can
reset any workspace to its default settings to
bring all the panels back. To reset your currently I
would go to Window workspaces. Reset to saved layout, or click on this
workspaces button and click reset to saved layout. Alternatively, you
can press Alt Shift 0 on Windows or Option
Shift 0 on Mac. This resets your current
workspace alone. If you want to reset any other workspace to
its default setting, switch to that workspace
and then reset the layout. Let's switch to
editing workspace and discuss more about some
essential panels in Premier Pro. This is the timeline panel. This is where all of your
cuttings and editings happen. Here you can assemble
various video clips, audio clips, and apply
special efforts. Time moves from
left to right here. This is called the playhead. And if you move or place
it at any particular time, the video preview at that time will be shown in the
program monitor panel. You can place the audio
and video clips on various audio and video tracks
in the timeline sequence. Here, v1, v2, and v3
or video tracks A1, A2, and A3, or audio tracks. By right-clicking here
and selecting add tracks. You can add more video
or audio tracks. When you preview the timeline
in the program, monitor. The clip in the upper
track, such as v3, will appear in front of
a clip in lower track, such as V2, V1 virus. All of the audio tracks, that is A1 to A3 play together. So you can create a sound mix by adding multiple layers of sound on different audio tracks. Project panel is used
to import and organize all the media files that you
will need in your project. You can manually create
individual folders called bins. By clicking on this button, you can import
into your folders, into the project panel by just dragging and dropping them. Let us import our
media assets from the Adobe project
files folder by just dragging and
dropping audio clips, video clips, and images
folder into the project plan. If there are any subfolders
inside the folders you drop. You will get the same
folder structure here. Or you can simply double-click the empty space here inside the project panel and go
to the location where your video so and
select the files. Or you can import the
entire folder to. Premier Pro has a new
way to import videos. Since version 22.3, you have got the import edit and
export links here. Click on Import. Here, you will get your
local files and folders, including some sample media
from Adobe tutorials. Here too, you can select multiple clips from
several folders, or select the entire
folder itself. Once the selection is over, you can choose to create a
new bin and a new sequence. Or you can simply import, press this Import button. The files will be imported. You can either view the files in the project panel as
lists or thumbnails. Thumbnail view shows a
preview of the first frame of the video clip or a default
waveform for the audio clip. If you mouse over the
thumbnails from left to right, you can preview
the clips quickly. Inside the thumbnails. List view shows all the
technical details of the clip, such as frames per second
video in our duration. And they are media duration
and some audio details. Source monitor panel is used to preview the media in
the project panel. The space bar key is
the shortcut to play or pause the preview to zoom
in or zoom out the preview. Use this drop-down list. Most of the clips that
are taken straight out of camera can be shaking the beginning and end as the videographer needs to
press the shutter button. So as an editor, you might prefer
to cut them out. Also, not always, the entire
clip looks interesting. You might wish to take
only a certain portion of each clip to be included
in your final edit. There can be several
clips like that. That's where Morgan and
markup buttons help you. You can select a specific
part of the clip that you want to add to the timeline
sequence using these buttons. Take this clip, for example. After having a glimpse of this
clip in the project panel, I double-click on it to preview in the source
monitor tunnel. Then I will click
the Run button at the position where I think the good portion of
this clip starts. I will end this selection by clicking on this
mark out button. Alternatively, you can use
the keyboard shortcuts I for my alkyne and
o for more gold. If a clip has both
audio and video, then you can preview just
the audio alone using this drag audio only button
in the source monitor panel.
5. Timeline Sequence: After importing
reduce into project, it's time to assemble them
in the timeline panel. Only if we create
a sequence first, we can assemble clips inside it by clicking on the new item
button in the project panel. And by choosing sequence, you can create a new sequence. Each sequence in
the timeline asked for several technical fields. But the essential
ones or resolution or reduce size and
frame rate or FPS. Like I said in the
previous lesson, you can create many sequences inside a single
Premiere Pro project. But often video editors work with one master sequence
to produce their redo. You can either create a sequence based on the properties
of the clips imported or based on your
own custom requirements. If the resolution, frame rate, and aspect ratio of
the important clips or the same as the output
video you want to produce. Then you can simply create a sequence with the properties
of one of the clips. You have important. To check these
properties of the clips. Make sure you're in the List
View in the project panel. Right-click on any
one of these videos and select New
Sequence From Clip. A new sequence will
be created with the exact same name and properties as that
of the video clip. At first, it might be
confusing to identify which one is the video clip and which one is the sequence. Look at these icons. If you're in thumbnail view, you can find these icons in
the bottom-right corner. In the list view, you
can identify easily the icon for the
sequence will be different from the
icon for video clips. This taste icon for sequences. To differentiate the sequences
easily in the future. Rename them as soon
as you create them. You can just click on the name of any sequence in
the project panel. To rename it. Let me rename it to
sequence couples on ***** and place it in a separate
been named sequences. Other shot ways to create a new sequence is to drag the video directly
into the timeline. Are you can drag a clip, the new item button
in the project panel. In both these ways to the sequence name and the properties will be
same as the clip name. So rename it as soon as
you create the sequence. Permute Pro also offers
you some presets for sequence creation based on different camera
configurations. Let's see them too. If you click on this
new item button in the project panel
and select sequence, you will get this
new sequence window. Here, you will be presented
with a lot of camera presets. You need to choose
the one that's relevant to your camera when
you're recording settings, as well as the
resolution frame rate as per your required
output production video. For example, if I have
recorded a ten ADP video in a Sony mirrorless camera in
AVC HD format at the TFP is, then I would expand AVC HD, then ADP, then select
AVC HD, ten ATP. But for the same
recording configuration. If I wanted to
produce a video at 720 p resolution and frame rate, then I would expand 720 p
and select AVC HD, 72024. Here, AVC HD is the code
that my camera uses. But 72 ATP and 24 FPS, or the resolution and frame
rate of the production video. I want, once you have chosen a preset given name to the
sequence and click Okay. A new sequence will be created. But if you don't know your camera settings or if you have chosen
some wrong presets. You don't need to worry
when you add the clip from the project panel to the
sequence for the first time, you will get a clip
mismatch warning. And you can choose to adjust the sequence settings
to match the clip. Or if you are sure that the sequence settings you have created is the one you want, you can choose to keep
existing settings. Sometimes your
imported video clip may have a different resolution, aspect ratio, and frame rate than what you want to produce. Or the available presets may not have the combination
of settings you want. For example, you might
have imported a video with four K resolution
120 If p is frame rate, that is slow motion video. But you might want to produce a cinematic than ATP
video ad 24 of peers. Technically, you will
be editing a fork a video to produce
a ten ADP video. That is called down scaling. Or you might have imported
a widescreen aspect ratio, that is 16 is to
nine, like your TV. But you might wish to produce a square aspect ratio video for Instagram at one is
to one aspect ratio. Or you might even wish
to produce a nine is 216 vertical aspect
ratio with you for TikTok, in all these cases, you will need to
create a new sequence that is based on your own
customer requirements. Let's see how to create
one such sequence with custom resolution
or frame rate. Go to file new sequence, or just press Control
plus N on Windows, or Command N on Mac. To create a new sequence. Skip the sequence presets, and come to settings. Under editing mode. Choose Custom. Under time-based. Choose your frame rate. If you want to produce
cinematic videos. Choose 24 FPS. If you are producing
for the web, then choose 30 FPS or 60 FPS based on how smooth you want
the produced video to be. Change the frame
size accordingly. For widescreen, choose a resolution in
16 is 29 aspect ratio, 1920 by 1084, full HD. And the T8 40 by 2164449 is 16. Vertical aspect ratio. Just reverse it. That is 1080 by 1920. As soon as I enter
1080 instead of 1920, you can see the aspect ratio
changed to one is to one. If I enter 1920 here, it will change to nine is 216. So you can conform the
aspect ratio here. Leave the fields and display
format to default values. Under walking color space. Normally you will work
with Rick seven or nine. If you are going to work with
high dynamic range videos, that is HDR videos, then choose 2100 here. Leave the audio and video
preview settings to default. Give a name to the sequence, and click Okay to
create a new sequence. Sometimes you might have
thought to produce a for K24 FPS video and create a sequence
based on that setting. Later, based on the assets or clips required or due
to client budget, you might need to
change it to ten ADP. That if p is technically
you can edit your entire sequence
in for K24 of peers, but exported in ten ADP piece. But it's just a scenario
that I'm saying. If you ever want to change the sequence settings after
you have created one, then right-click
on the sequence in the project panel and
select sequence settings. You can change the
resolution from 3840 by 2160 to 1920 by 1080. That is for k 210
ADP resolution. And also change the frame
rate to as per your needs. To delete any sequence. Come to the project panel, select the sequence
and press Delete. Just closing the sequence
in the timeline panel. Won't delete a sequence.
6. Learn Editing skills in Adobe Premiere pro: In this new Adobe
Premiere Pro project, let us simple editing. This is folded from the
download resources. We have bought six video clips
and background music file. Let's see a quick
preview of these clips. By moving the mouse
over the thumbnail. I would like to
Markin and Margot the interesting portion of these clips before adding
it to the timeline. To do that, double-click on Eclipse to open-end
the source monitor. Use this baseball game
to play or pasta. Let me play from the beginning
and pause exactly at the moment from which I want to select the
interesting portion. We can either press this button or press
I on the keyboard, hit the Spacebar key again
to continue playback and posted this bond where we'd like to
finish the selection. Press the record button or press O on the keyboard to
finish the selection. To clear the molten or market. Right-click on the selection
in the source monitor. Then select clearing
or clear out or clear in-and-out based
on what you want to do. People don't like to watch boring, unnecessarily
long videos. As an editor, you should choose only the interesting
portions of each group. As we have already selected such a portion using
mark in and out points. Click and drag the clip from the source monitor to
the Timeline panel. Insert just the selected
portion of the globe. Alternatively, you can drop the unedited clip into
the timeline directly and then remove the
boring portions using the selection tool
in the Tools window. Bring the point or the
start of the clip. It will change to a left square bracket
and a right arrow mark. Click and drag the beginning of the clip rightwards till you
reach the mark and position. You will be shown in
the program monitor. It will show two previews. Left. One is the previous
frame in the timeline. If there are no clips
immediately to the left, then a blank preview
will be shown. The right one is
the frame we are marking as Mark in position. Similarly, bring the pointer
near the end of the clip. It will change to
a left red color, arrow and right square bracket. Click and drag the end of the clip leftwards till you
reach the market position. Here the left preview
shows the market position, and the right Preview shows the next frame in the timeline. Most of the time,
the imported clips name would be meaningless
numbers along with some words. When you have tens
or hundreds of clips imported into
the project panel, you will lose track
of which clip you have important and
which clip you haven't. Don't worry. Here is an important tip. Once the clip is added
to the timeline, you can see this blue
video and audio icon in the bottom right corner of this ellipse thumbnail
in the project panel, which denotes that this clip
is present in the timeline. Clips without these blue, I can denote that they are not
yet added to the timeline. If you keep the mouse over
this for sufficient time, it will also show how many times the clip is
used in the timeline. So if you have mistakenly added the same clip
multiple times, you can find the doubt. Sometimes you might not need the recorded audio to be
inserted along with the video. As you might have a
separate voice-over track, or simply you might be
adding background music. In those cases, you may just like to add the
video portion alone. To do that, click and drag this video only button
to the timeline. Similarly, you can drag and drop just the audio alone to using
this audio alone button. Like I said before, you may have tens or hundreds of clips imported into
the project panel. And you may wish to select an import multiple clips
into the timeline. If you want to select
multiple random clips, hold Control key on Windows, or Command D on Mac. Click on each of the random video clips
you want to select. If you want to select
multiple clips that are arranged in an order. Click on the first clip, press and hold the Shift key, and then click on the last clip to select
all these video clips. Then drag and drop them into
the timeline in any track. Input them into the timeline. Let's see how to zoom in
and zoom out the timeline. As you will be doing this
a lot while editing. If you want to zoom in into
the timeline a little, then press Plus key
on the keyboard. If you want to zoom out
the timeline a little, then press the minus
key on the keyboard. Alternatively, you
can press and hold Alt key on Windows or
Option key on Mac. And use your mouse wheel to zoom in and zoom
out the timeline. If you want to see the
entire timeline at once, then press Backslash key. You can find this key
about the Return key. You can increase or decrease the track height by clicking and dragging here in
between the tracks. Or simply double-click
on the negative space of any trunk to increase
or decrease its height. Let's cut the
unwanted portions of the next clip using
the selection tool. After I made the cut. There are some empty spaces
on left and right, isn't it? If we play the preview
in the program monitor after the end of Q2, there will be a brief moment of blank screen before T3 place. To remove that,
right-click on the space between 23 and select
ripple delete. Let me undo it to show you
alternate methods to undo. Press Control plus Z on
Windows or Command Z on Mac. Suppose if you want to
undo and undo, redo, press Control plus
Shift plus Z on Windows and Command plus
Shift plus z on Mac. Alternative to ripple delete. You can click and drag the clip three to the end of crypto. When you do that, they will get magnetically attached
to the clip too. Because snapping timeline or magnetic
timeline feature is enabled. If you disable this
magnet icon here, clips aren't attracted to each other when you
bring them close. Know that most video editors like to keep this
feature enabled. If you want to
remove an eclipse, just select it and press Delete. But it will leave an
empty space like before. If you don't want
that empty space, when you delete clips, you
should ripple delete it. To do that, select the clip and press Shift plus Delete on Windows or Shift plus
function plus Delete on Mac. You can even delete multiple clips at once
in the timeline by selecting multiple
clips and then deleting them to select multiple
clips in the timeline. Hold, Shift key and click on the clips or drag them
out you to select them. Then press Delete key
to delete them. Simply. Press Shift plus Delete on
Windows or Shift plus function plus Delete on Mac to
ripple delete them. Holding the Control
key or command key won't work to select multiple
clips on the timeline. The more of the clips
within the timeline. Just click and drag a clip
with the selection tool. Take the selection tool under the tool's box or press
V on the keyboard. And you can just click and drag any clip to a new position. If you can't find
these tools window, then go to Window menu
and enabled tools. When you click and
drag to move it. If you drop it in an empty
place in the timeline, the clip will be moved from the existing spot
to the new spot. But if there are some clips already present,
when you drop it, then those previously
present lips will be overwritten by this new club. If you don't want to
overwrite the previous clips, then you can insert
the nucleus there and push the previous
clips to the right. To do that, click and drag
the clip to the new location. But hold Control key on
Windows or Command T on Mac, and then drop the clip
on the new location. This action will
insert this clip there and push the existing
clips to the right. Then you add a clip with
audio into the timeline. Though it's video and audio are separated on different
video and audio tracks. By default, they will
be linked to each other and they will
move together. In case if you want to
move them separately. First, you need to unlink them. Right-click the clip
and select unlink. After that, you can move the
video and audio separately. If you want to turn
off the linking foreign entire sequence
with lots of clips, then disabled this
Linked Selection button near the magnet button
on the timeline panel. Once unlinked, you can move or edit or delete the video
and audio separately. Whereas if you just want to delete just the audio or
video of Eclipse separately. You don't need to disable
Linked Selection for that, or you don't even need
to unlink the clip. There is a faster way to do that by just holding the
Alt key or Option key, select the video or audio, and then press Delete. To split a clip at
any particular time. Use the Razor Tool or
press C on the keyboard to take the tool and
click on a clip in the timeline at any
particular time. It will be split into two. At the time. You can do this multiple times to
split the clip. Several spots. We deleted just the video
or audio separately. You can cut just video or
audio alone in a clip. Hold the Alt key on Windows
or Option key on Mac, and cut the video or audio using the razor tool to
cut them separately. If you want to do that
for an entire sequence, wherever needed, then disable
the Linked Selection first, and then use razor to
this d is helpful when you want to cut
out the silence or noisy portion of the
audio alone in a clip. For example. To cut out some parts of
audio in this sequence. Take the razor tool or press C, then place a cut at the
starting point of the noise, and then place another good
ending point of the noise. Repeat this for all
the noisy portions. Then take the selection tool or press V and holding Shift key, select all the noisy
potions you want to remove. Technically, it will just be every other alternate
audio clip. Then press delete, copy and already existing
clip on the timeline. Hold Alt key on Windows, Option key on Mac, then click and drag a
clip to take a copy. Sometimes you might
not be able to edit the lower tract clips
in the program monitor. If there are videos presenting
the track above them. In those cases, you
can temporarily hide the upper tracks and do the
edit in the lower tracks. To hide and upper track. Click on the icon on the track. The preview of the
track won't appear on the program monitor when
you play the sequence, even in exports, the
track own preference. Whereas if you
simply don't want to mistakenly make edits
in the upper tracks, while you select an edit
clips in the lower tracks, you can simply log
the upper tracks. To lock a track. Click on this log button. Once logged, it won't allow you to make any
changes to the track. But the preview will be
shown while playback, as well as in exports. That's the difference
between hiding a track and locking a track.
7. Add Transition effects: A transition happens
between two clips. Transition begins at
the end of trip on, finishes before to begins. Most commonly used
video transition in Premiere Pro is
cross dissolve. And that for audio
is cross fade. As they are the default
transition of applied, these default transition affects Move your point or
in-between two clips. It will change into
either the left or right red square bracket. Right-click and select,
apply default transitions. Let's see the preview. The transition looks in
a way that clip to start spraying a few seconds
before clip on finishes. To create this effect, the cross dissolve
transition effect uses the unused frames
in the beginning of trip to and at the
end of clip one. If there are no
such unused frames, then you will get a message,
insufficient media. The transition will
contain repeated frames. Let us see the preview. It looks like the
transition effect is applied between
the first frame of clip two and last few
seconds of clip one, followed by the lost
frame of clip 1, first few seconds of a clip to find whether a clip
has a news media or not. You can look at the top left, and right corners of each
clip in the timeline. If the triangle is present in
the beginning of the clip, then it's the first
frame of the clip. There are no unused
frames before that. If the triangle is present
in the end of the clip, then it's the lowest
frame of the flip. There are no unused
frames after the, if we want to apply
either cross dissolve or cross fade effect to
video or audio one lead. Then select either
video or audio by holding Alt key or
Option key and keyboard. Then right-click and select
apply default transitions. If you want to apply
other transition of its other than the default ones, then switch to Effects
workspace on the top. Or you can press
Alt Shift seven in Windows and Option
Shift seven in Mac. Other method is to go
to Window workspaces. Then efforts go to the Effects
panel on the right side. Though there are a
lot of things here, such as presets, Lumetri
Presets, and much more. We are going to deal with video transitions and audio
transitions in this lesson. Expand video transitions
and then expand slide. Now click and drag the Push
transition between two clips. You can increase or reduce
the length of the transition. Let me zoom in on the timeline. Please. The pointer
in the beginning or end of the transmission box, the pointer will change
to a red square bracket. Click and move towards the
center to reduce the length. Drag away from the center to increase the length of
the transition effort. To select the transition effect, click on the
transition of a box. It will change from semi-transparent and
low, too wide color. On the source window panel. Go to the Effect Controls tab. Here you can change the
duration of the transition, changing this value manually, or clicking and
dragging the mouse up and down or left and right. Change the alignment to center a cut or start or end at GOT. Change this dot and n positions. A black border in Greece or reduce its width,
change its color. You can even reverse the
transition from right to left. This set of options change
for various transition of x. But you can play around
with these options anytime and customize
the transition of it the way you want to change to another transition
of instead of push, just drag and drop that
effect on this push effect. For instance, let me change
the transition to white. If I drag and drop this white perfect
onto the push factor, it will change to wipe with a customized duration
and alignment options. Similarly, you can
add any transition of it if you want or editing and rendering
of your video to take advantage of the graphic
out on your computer. Then you count this accelerated effects button in
the effects panel. It will hide the non
accelerated effects. All these efforts
use the graphic code instead of just the
processor to render. So they will be much faster. Which means you can preview on the goal without
rendering first, to render a sequence, select anywhere in the sequence, and press the return
key on the keyboard. Also keep an eye on the
usage of these transition of it's often because
if you add more, then it may spoil
the field of edits. Make your video
edit as seamless as possible for a better,
unprofessional.
8. Add Visual Effects: We are going to add
some visual effects to the video clips in the
timeline whenever you want to apply any effect or customize and all
predicted by defect. Switch took the fence workspace. You can find all the effects
listed in the effects panel, which is placed from
the right side. In this lesson, we are
going to use the effects under the audio effects and video of its
folder, one leaf, to find an effect that
we want to apply, we can either open these individual folders
inside the video of x folder or audio effects
folder and choose an effect. Or if you want to find
a particular effect, then type the name of the defect in the effects panel search bar. As you start typing, all the effects that
match will appear. For example, if you wanted
to apply a blur effect, but you are not sure about the exact name
of the video filter. Just start typing blur
on this search bar. Premiere Pro will show the
matching video filters. Make sure to choose a blur effect inside
the video of x folder. Not under presets
or transition of x, you can drag and drop any of
these blur of what's under Video fits onto the video
clips in this project. How placed a text with a bit of manual tracking done as
the camera moves up, the text tracks this
region knows accordingly, adding text and trucking. For another lesson.
In this video, let's concentrate
on adding a blur of like directional blur. Click and drag the directional
blur effect to this clip. You might see no
change in the preview. That's because we need to
change the blur amount in the effect controls to see
some change in the preview. Make sure you have
selected the clip. Under Effect Controls tab, expand the directional
blur and then blur length. Let's increase it to
something like seven. If you like, you can change the angle by rotating this knob with the mouse to reset any options under the
Effect Controls tab, click on the corresponding
reset button. The blur we applying appears
throughout the clip. What if I just need the
clip to blur right at the start of the text
and end with the text. Place the timeline play head right at the beginning
of the text. Select the video clip. Under the Effect Controls tab. Click on the stopwatch like
toggle Animation button. To the left of blur length. A diamond shape appears here, which denotes a keyframe. A keyframe marks the value of a certain effect at a
specific point in time. Your marks the blur
length value to be seven at play head position
1 second in timeline. Now place the play
head a few frames before and change the
blur length to 0. This will create a new keyframe with blurred linked value 0. Let us see the preview. You can see the blur gradually increasing between
these two keyframes. Now place the play head
at the end of the text, select the video clip, and come to the
Effect Controls tab. Click on this diamond. Once we add a key frame with the value seven
at this position, move the play head a few frames, right, and change the
blood length to 0. Once you have toggled
the animation. Whenever you change the value, new keyframe will be graded. To delete any key frame, select the keyframe and press delete to remove the
visible entirely. Simply click on this
fx button to disable the effect or select
the defect in the Effect Controls
tab and press, Delete. Let me undo and see the preview. Before trying other
visible effects, let's dig into the pre-play
defects for a clip, select a new clip for which you have not applied
any effects. Go to the Effects Control tab. You can see Motion, Opacity, time remapping and
some audio firms. Motion takes care of the basic transformation
of the video clip. Double-click on the video
in the program monitor. The clip will be ready
for transformation. Click and move the clip. You can notice the
position changing in motion f. Similarly, you can scale or rotate, resize width and
height independently, uncheck uniform scale, and
then resists the clip. If you move the anchor point, the rotation will give
a different result. Rotation around the
new ankle point. Let's place another clip. Or if we've reduced the
opacity of this clip. We can see both clips
with a semi transparency. You can go all created
with this when you use it along with the masking,
this circle mask. Now this clip appears
only within this mask. To invert the mask
click on inverted. You can use this to show picture in picture of your
talking head videos. And that's just a start masking. You can do a lot more. We will deal with this
masking in detail later. Now let's see some more effects. You can add a basic 3D
effect and a perspective. Change, the swivel and the tilt angle and
distance to the image. You can add the lens
flare effect under Generate and create some lens first by changing
the Flat center. Brightness. Lunchtime. If you want to blend the video
with the lens flare, then you can increase
the blend width, original amount you
like. Under distort. Let's add the mirror of it. You can change the
reflection to 90 degrees to the horizontal reflection effect that is on top and
bottom of the frame. To see the vertical
reflection effect on the left and right
half of the frame. Divide this first
value by two and enter half of 1280 is 640. So let me enter here. Let's see the proof. You can combine multiple
effects on a videoclip. Adobe Premiere Pro has one of the best stabilization affects. This footage is taken with
stabilization enabled, but still, it's certainly
couldn't do a decent job. It still needs to be stabilized. Let me drag this footage
to the timeline and add the Warp Stabilizer
effect under distort. This is an accelerated effects. If your computer has
some graphics power, it will be faster once they drop this effect onto the clip. It starts analyzing
the clip frame by frame in the background. After that, it will start
stabilizing the clip. Then we can customize the options under
Effect Controls tab. Default values should surface
most of the scenarios. But if you would like to change, then you can start with the
end result as smooth motion. That is gimbal lake
or no motion that is tripod like change smoothness
from 0 to 100, percentage. Change stabilization method
to position or position scale and rotation or
perspective or subspace warp. To understand the stabilization method options, it's best. You try these options with
an unstabilized clip. You can also change the
framing options and rolling shutter reduction to if you are not aware what a
rolling shutter means. Let me add some links to
this video explaining them. Let's just preview
this clip now. This is before. This is often you can try more effects by dragging and dropping
onto the video clips. Play with the effect controls for each effect you're trying. Only that's how
you can learn them all and get accustomed
to this video of x.
9. Text and Graphics: When you want to add any text, our shapes to your
video did switch to caption and
graphics workspace. You will find the essential
graphics panel on the right. Text panel on the left. Switch to the graphics
tab and texts balance. Here you can use this
type tool or press T on the keyboard and
click anywhere on the program monitor
to insert a Text. Red box will appear. Just type your text. Once done typing, don't
click anywhere on the program monitor as it
will create a new text box. Instead, press Escape or
click on the Selection tool. If you have mistakenly
added another text box, you can easily delete to select
the anti-tax layers here, press Delete or right-click
and select Clear. Another way to add
text is to go to Edit under Essential Graphics. Click on this new layer
button and select text. Not just text. You can also add shapes like a rectangle, ellipse,
and polygon. Let's create a vertical
text and a shape this way, go to essential
graphics spanned, edit, then click on new layer button
and select vertical text. You can create shapes
using the dude box to click on this elliptical
or rectangle tool. Then click Rectangle Tool, and then click and
drag the cursor in the program monitor to
create a rectangle. Similarly, you can
add ellipse to. But when it comes to polygon, you can add it, but it will
create a triangle like this. It's basically a
three-sided polygon. To add more sides
to this polygon, change this number of fields. Let me change it to five. Another interesting
tool, the pen tool. This tool and make cliques in the program monitor to
create your custom shapes. Instead of simply
click at each point, you can click and
hold each point to create a KOH instead of
just straight lines. Once you're joined back
to the starting point, the custom shape will be formed. Even after that,
you can click and drag the points to
alter the shape. Place you open along the lines. It will show plus sign. Then you can click here to add new points by holding
Control key or command key, you can click on a joint to remote by holding the
Alt key or Option key. If you just click
on a code join, you can convert it
to a strike joined. Whereas if you click and drag
any joint by holding the d, then you can convert a strike
joined into a code one. Similarly, you can
use the pen tool to alter any shape that
you have already added, such as rectangle, ellipse. Let me hide all other layers. Here is the ellipse. You can use the pen tool
to change its shape. Pond selection tool
to change at sites. Let's clear everything and add just a text on
a rectangle shape. Click on the new layer button
and select a rectangle. Repeat the strep text to move them to the
center of the frame, hold Control key on the
keyboard or command key on Mac. And select both the layers. Under alignment
transform section, press the vertical center button and horizontal center button. Alternatively, take
the selection tool. Hold the Control
key or command key, and move the shapes or
text within the frame. Premiere Pro will show
you guidelines to align these shapes
and ticks easily. Go, Let's make this
rectangle a bit bigger and place it at
the center here, again, align vertically, bottom and
plane left, horizontally. Right buttons. They
can be used to align individual layers
within the frame, select the rectangle, loan, and press these alignment buttons to align it
within the frame. But if you select multiple layers and use
this alignment buttons, then it will align
within those layers. For example, selecting both text and rectangle and clicking on a lying dog will align the text to the
top of the rectangle. If not both of them to
the top of the frame. Apart from this, you can change the position by either
using the selection tool. You can use these fields. Similarly, you can scale or
change the anchor point. Opacity, or width and height, or the rounded corners too. The last thing in Ireland
and transformers, you can click on
these five buttons alone to toggle animations. They are position, scale, anchor point,
rotation, and opacity. You can also do this via
the Effects Control Tab. Let's see it in action. Let me claim them correctly. Select both of them. Move the play head
to the beginning, click on this position
button to toggle position animation
and scale button to toggle scale animation. Move them to the starting point. Now plays the play
head near the end. Change the position and scale. Now let's see the preview
of the animation. We created. This automatically grids
keyframes for you. So you don't need to
manually create them. Coming to the text section, you can see it Monday when
you select a text layer, you can change the font family. Let me disable these layers
so you can see it clearly. You can change bold italics
to draw formed size. Alignment of the text using these alignment buttons
increase character spacing. Folks bold, folks, italics. All caps, small caps, superscript,
subscript, underline. Left to right typing or right-to-left coming
to Appearance section, you can change the fill
color enabled stroke, change its color and thickness. Shadow, change
distance, shadow color, opacity, angle, size, blur. To show how this
mask can be used, we need to move this shape layer in front of the text layer. Now, if we enable this mask, then this shape acts as mosque and the text will be visible only through
this mosque. You can enable invert
to invert the mask. Let me delete this
new text layer. Watch this animated text
layer I have created already. Let me show you how I did insert a text layer using the type
tool and type your text. Press Escape. Once typed, click on
the Selection tool. Change the font, family, type, and size like your desire. Move the play head to the
beginning of the graphics. If you can't go exactly to the first
frame of the graphics, zoom in into the timeline and place the play head
approximately. Use the selection tool to place the text
over the seawater. Some sports. Chance this way. Click on the Toggle position. It will create a keyframe in the Effects Control
tab automatically. It will be shown as a circle to select or modify the
diamond keyframe, expand text, and go to position. Now please the play
head near the end of the graphics layer and move
the text near the same vein. It will create another
keyframe, automatically. Created a few more
animated deaths. Now let me disable this
newly created layer and let us see the proof. I shall add these videos used in this lesson as resources. I suggest to do them as a project work and submitted
via the discussion board. If you face troubles
uploading videos, either upload as G5 or upload your video to YouTube
and post your video link.
10. Audio Editing Basics in Premiere Pro: Before learning to edit audio, you need to learn to
see and understand all your files rather
than hearing them. Audio file select
voice and music or represented in waveforms
in Premiere Pro. You can see there are two
waveforms here on polio, track one and track two. Both audio tracks have
the same audio clip. It's just that I have already
removed all the pauses, silences from this
clip in track one. Track two has the
unedited audio clip with all pulses on silences. I would like to play them
both to you separately. If I simply hit the play button, all the audio tracks in this
sequence will play together, creating a sound mix. Let me mute audio track
one by clicking on this M or mute button and
play the unedited clip. First, I'm having
practicing and teaching FU since the past decade or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. So excited, dye now have the privilege of being your
instructor for this course. You heard the short pauses and silences between
sentences, right? Let's her the edited
clip in truck one. Now, instead of meeting track to that is clicking
on the mute button. We can also click on the solo or S button of the track
you want to hear. So let's hit S on track
one and hit Play. Having practicing and
teaching SU since the past decade or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. So excited, now have the privilege of being your
instructor for this course. This sounds much
faster than before. Since I cut the
silences already, the audio clip on track one has lesser duration than the
unedited clip contract too. If you want to edit
audio on track to, but you don't want to mistakenly make edits to audio track one, then you can lock truck one by clicking on this lock button. Once locked, whatever you add it to the rest
of the sequence, the locked track
remains untouched. The purpose behind this
playback is that I want you to notice the waveforms when you
hear silences in the audio. These waveforms
represent the volume or amplitude of sound. Sound is measured in decibels. In real life, 0
decibels is silent. Your normal conversations
happen at 60 decibels and a gunshot at a 100 feet
sounds like a 140 decibels. But here in Premier Pro, to the sound is
measured in decibels. 0 dB, or 0 decibels is
the maximum sound volume. And minus infinity dB is
the lowest sound volume, or what we call as silence. For example, the audio
levels for voice, usually you're in YouTube or set between minus six and
minus 12 dB range. These levels are shown
in the sound meter here, displays the
instantaneous amplitude of the sound when you
play the timeline. Let's go fullscreen
off this time and panel to view bigger. Select the timeline panel and press Delete key
on the keyboard. You can find this key, the bow, the Tab key
on the keyboard. Let me increase the
height of these drugs. If the waveform is higher, it denotes more amplitude, which means louder sound. Here, it will be near 0 dB. In Premiere Pro. If the waveform is lower, The denotes lower amplitude or sounds with lower
volume or loudness. If the waveform is almost
flat near the bottom, like this, then it
denotes silence. Anything less than
minus 30 decibels. You cannot cure much. Let me replace some of these silent ports
of the waveforms. Now have the
privilege. See none of these sections how wise
or legible music in them. They are simply silences, are some low-level noise. If the audio has some
background noise, then the waveforms won't go
all the way to the bottom. But you will still be able to differentiate voices
from noise as the wise or music that
first recorded will normally how significantly
higher volume. Than the background noise. To cut down these silent ports. You can use any of the editing techniques that
we have discussed already. Let me show you one of them. Take the eraser tool or press C, make a cut at the
beginning of the silence, and another cut at the
end of the silence. Take the selection
tool or press V, select this and press Delete. Once you have learned
to understand and predict the audio by just
looking at the waveforms, your editing will get faster. Let's exit the full-screen. Look at the sound meter. Once they start the playback. These lines in the
song meter show the instantaneous
dynamic peak amplitude. Practicing and teaching SEO. Since the past decade or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. These bars show the aptitude
range of the sound. So excited. Now have the privilege of being your instructor for this course. Amplitude is just the
audio level and be constituted is the value of the highest amplitude
in the clip. Generally, peak
amplitudes don't loss clung to assist the
peak amplitude easily. Right-click on the sound meter
and select static peaks. Let's play once and check the peak
amplitude of this clip. I've been practicing
and teaching SU since the past decade or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. On the other hand, if you would like to view
the lowest amplitude, then right-click and
select Show Values. Let's play it again and see how it shows
the lowest attitude to have in practicing and teaching SEO since
the past decade, or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. So excited, now have the privilege of being your
instructor for this course. Typically the sound meter
shows 0 dB to minus 60 dB. If you're working with
very low volume sounds, then you can change
the range to when your peak amplitude goes
beyond minus two decimals. As it nears 0 dB,
the sound fidelity, we'll start reduce and there will be distortions
in your audio. It will sound too harsh
for your audience. So you need to reduce your audio levels such
that it's not distorting, as well as increased the same. So it's audible enough. Loudness of your audio is
measured in RMS amplitude. Here, autonomous means
root, mean square. You don't need to dig
deep into the armies. Just imagine it as overage
amplitude or overage loudness. So if I tell you to keep
your wise at minus six dB, minus 12 dB, then minus six dB here denotes
the peak amplitude. And minus 12 db denotes
the lowest amplitude. Since y's or music
has highs and lows, it cannot be defined at
the constant aptitude. But for this peak
amplitude range, the RMS amplitude may come
around minus nine dB. The ideal range of
sound levels for voice is minus six
dB, minus 12 dB. For background music,
it is minus 18 db, two minus 20 dB. For sound effects,
it is minus 12 db, two minus 18 db. Most of the time, your audio clips will either have one or two
channels of audio. Single-channel audio
clip is a monoclinic and it will have only one row
of waveform, like this. Dual-channel AudioClip
is a stereotype, and it will have two rows
of waveform like this. If your sound is low, you might need to increase the loudness levels or audio
gain to increase the volume. It can be done in three ways. Method one, select the clip, go to the Effect Controls panel, go to audio, then volume, and then increase the level. If you add five dB
in the levels than the average volume will
increase by five dB. It also increases the previous
peak amplitude by five dB. Having practicing and
teaching SQL method two, Let's play this clip. Can see the peak amplitude
first in the sound meter. Or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. Or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. Let's adjust the
gain by five dB. It should increase both autonomous and peak
amplitude by phi TB. Let's play it again and
check the peak amplitude, or 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. It has increased by five dB. Using this way, you can adjust the audio gain of
multiple clips at once. Just select them. All right-click, go to Audio Gain and then
adjust the game method3. Here we are going to adjust
the audio level line. You can notice a horizontal line in each audio clip, right? It's the audio level. By default, it will be at 0 dB. 0 dB does not denote
peak amplitude. The amount of volume we
have added, whole reduced. If we increase it
to plus five dB, means we have increased
the gain by five dB. If you reduce it
to minus five dB, then it means we have
reduced the gain by five dB. If you want to silence a clip, instead of just deleting it, then just pull this
audio level line all the way down to minus 999 dB. If you can't increase or decrease the line in
any particular value, like five dB or 5.5 dB. Then hold Control key
on keyboard in Windows, and Command key on Mac, and then adjust this line. Holding Control key or
command key makes it easier for you to adjust
to precise levels.
11. Adding Background Music: Adding background music lifts
up the feel of your video. But when you sequence has both
wise and background music, that's when you have
some work to do. Uh, how added this
background music to this talking head video? Let's play it once. The background music or BGN, it's so loud, I couldn't
hear the voice clearly. I need to reduce the audio
gain of background music. Typically, the wise should be ten to 12 decibels louder
than background music. Let me click this solo
button for the voice track. Uncheck the overage voice level, as well as peak amplitude
in the sound meter. Having practicing
and teaching since the past decade or a 100 thousand satisfied
and successful students. And the peak amplitude is
around minus 15 decibels. And the outrage seems to wander
around minus 20 decibels. Let's check the volume
levels of background music. Uncheck the solo of
why strap and muted. Right-click on the sound
meter and reset indicators. Note that I have
selected static beaks. If you have selected
dynamic peaks, the peak board will
draw off for a second. So you don't need to
reset indicators. Let's play it again. The peak amplitude of this initial part is
around minus 15 decibels. But most of the time the sound meter boards
fluctuated minus 18 decibels. That's where the RMS
amplitude should be. There is a difference of around one to two disables between voice and
background music. But to get a twelv
decibel difference, Let's reduce the volume
of background music by six decibels and increase
the voice by six decimals. Click on the volume
level line and the BGN, drag it down to reduce the
volume level by six decibels. Remember, you can press and hold the Control key on Windows
and Command key on Mac. To fine tune the adjustment, select all the y's flips, right-click and
choose Audio Gain, just gained by six dB. And click OK, unmute
all the trucks. Let me change to dynamic
peaks in the sound meter. Here, both voice
and be GM together. Having practicing and thinking. In suppose decade or a 100 thousand satisfied
and success for students, it's much better now, if you would like to
make the BGN even more subtle than you can reduce
it by due to three decimals. If you want to quickly assess
the peak and RMS amplitude, enable attract as solo, and just move the play head from start to end of the clip. You can notice the peak aptitude and average level
in the sound meter. But instead of doing
these processes manually, Premier Pro has an
essential sound panel. We are which all
these volume levels can be set in a few clicks. Go to audio workspace. Select all the voice clips. Choose dialogue, tag, click
on Auto Match under loudness. This will automatically set the appropriate volume levels
for your voice audio clips. Let's skim through
the trach ones to see the volume levels. Well, it revolves around
minus 12 decibels. Select the BGN, apply music tab, click on Auto Match
under loudness. Initial silent part revolves
around minus 27 decibels. And the later Bede's sound
or minus 18 decibels. To bring the down. Let's increase the track height. Take the pen tool. Click on the BGN
audio level line here to add the keyframe. Add one more key frame
off for a second. Take the selection
tool or press V and pull this down by
nine to ten decibels. You can play the sequence, can't adjust it dynamically to automatically
reduce the volume of background music
wherever there's why's Premiere Pro has
got a preset for that. Select the background music. Click the Clear audio type. Go to Presets music and
select smooth vocal duckling. Now let me delete
this audio clip here that you can see how
the ducking walks when there is no voice clip here under this ducking section,
click generate keyframes. Let's see the preview now. Having practicing and teaching
SU since the past decade. So excited, dye now have the privilege of being your
instructor for this course. Here the BGN extremes beyond our video track usually happens. You can dilute this in two ways. Method one, take
the selection tool, go to the end of the
background music clip and reduce it exactly to the
length of your video. Then we can add a fade-out audio effects
in the effects panel. Go to audio transitions,
crossfade, drag, and drop this constant
power audio effect to the end of the GM clip. Let's zoom in into the timeline. In Greece, the duration
of this audio transition. Method two, premiere Pro
has got a remix tool, which you can find
in the dunes box. Take the tool and go
to the end of the BGN, click and drag till the
length of the video. Alternatively, let
me undo it first. Taking the razor tool, I'm making a cut here. Let me delete the rest. Now, take the remix tool and expand background music to
the length of the video. The remix tool cannot
extend or reduce the length of the background music to
the exact duration you need. But it can do it more or less of the which
you can manually reduced the link
like this and go to effects on your transitions. Crossfade, drag-and-drop, constant power audio transition. At the end. Your instructor for this
course. For this course.
