1. Introduction: hi and welcome to the Force, where you will learn everything about editing in Premiere Pro. My name is Eric. I'm a full time filmmaker and an award winning editor doing feature length films and commercials for big brands. In this three hour course, you will learn house Organizer files how to do basic editing, how to apply creative effects and transitions, how to achieve cinematic color correction and cinematic look for your videos. I'll teach you how to work with audio, and finally, I'll show you the best export settings for your videos. I also included free color free sets and hold the clips that I filmed that you condone, load and work with to make your learning process easier. The main goal of the course is to help anyone become a professional editor. No matter with your editing skills are. So join me now and let's get started 2. Project Organization: Before you start editing any video, you have to organize all your files to keep your project clean. The best way to do it is to create a separate folder for every video that you want to edit . In my case, I have a folder that's called Editing Lesson. And inside that folder I have five sub folders. The first folder I have here is assets. This is where I keep all the pictures and logos I'm gonna use for my video. Then I have audio folder. This is where I keep all the songs, order recordings, voiceovers and so on. Then I have clips. This is where I keep old individual clips that are going to be used to create my video. The next folder I have is Project. This is where a premier project file is going to be saved. So, for example, if I'm editing a video and then I want to continue editing the same video the next day, I can always find the premier project file here. And the last folder I have here is renders. This is where I'm going to export a finished video to 3. Premiere Pro - Interface: Let's open Premiere Pro and have a look at its interface. So I'm just going to click on Premieres Aiken and wait for it to finish loading. Now you see a start screen where you can open your previous projects if you have any. Or you can create a new project by clicking here. New project. Here, you can choose a name for your project and choose its location. So let's name our project editing. And now I'm going to click on Browse to choose its location. So I need to find a folder that I previously created. So I'm going to go to my desktop select editing lesson than select Projects Folder and click on Select folder so that my project is safe in this Project folder. Let's leave the rest of the settings untouched and breasts. Okay, so this is how premieres in their face looks like. Yes, it may seem very complicated, but it's actually not. There are six main windows, so if I select one of the windows, you can see that there is a blue line around the window, which means that this window is selected so the first window we have is program window where you can play back your edit. Then there is the timeline window. This is where all the magical happened. This is where you can add your eclipse, change that Werder, add music and so on. Then there is a window with different tools that are needed for editing. And here is a project window where you can find all of your project files. There are also different tabs here, like media browser libraries, info and so on. If you click on these two arrows, you can see all of the tops that are in this window that we have a source window where you can preview all of your files. And we also have different taps here, like effect controls, where you can change the scale and position of your clips. Make adjustments to video effects that you apply to your clips and so on. And on the very top. You can change the layout off premier so that it's easier to work with color, graphics, audio and so on, but will come back to it later. You can increase or decrease the size of the windows. You can move them around by dragging, and you can also move the taps inside the windows. If you see that your interface changed too much and you want to reset it, just go to window workspaces and click reset to safely out. 4. Import and Preview: All right, let me show you how to import files in Premiere Pro. The easiest way to import files is by dragging and dropping them inside the project window . So if I go back to my desktop and open Edison glass and folder, then go to clips. I can select all the clips and just dragged them inside the project window, and you can see them here, limit the lead them for now. Or I can select the entire clips folder and just move it to the project window. And I'm going to do the same with audio folder. Just drag and drop it right here. So now we have two folders inside of Premiere Pro. We can open each of them and breathe you f I'll just by double clicking on it. The file will open in the sores window where you can scrub through it or played back by pressing the space bar. You can switch between video preview and audio preview. So let me open the clip that has audio. And if I click this icon here, you can see audio way forms. Hi, My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. And let's switch back to video preview. You can also zoom in if you need to or zoom out. I'm just gonna select fit. 5. Creating a Sequence: Now that you know how to import and preview your files, it's time to start the editing process. But first, we need to create a sequence where we can drop all the video and audio files. So this is the timeline window, and you can see that it says no sequences, and right below it says drop media here to create sequence, and this is a very easy way to create it. So if I go to the clips folder, I can just drag and drop one of the clips here on my timeline on a sequence will be created automatically. So now this sequence that you can see here has the same name as the file that we just dropped here, clip one. So if you want to change the name of the sequence, just go to the project window, find the sequence that you've just created is gonna have this little blue I can hear in the corner, right click on it and select rename, and I'm gonna name it editing. So if I change the view off the project window from I can view to list view, you can see the different rate off our editing sequins is the same as all the other clips, and also the resolution is the same. Now, if you need to change the settings of your sequence for some reason, you can just right click on it and select sequence settings. The main things you can change here is the frame rate off your sequence and its resolution . For example, I can make it four k instead of full agency. So I'm just gonna type 3840 and to 160 which is the resolution off four K video, and I'm just going to click. OK, now you can see in the program window that the clip that we have on our timeline is two times smaller than the sequence settings is because we change the resolution off the sequence from full HD to four K, which is two times bigger. So this was the first way. How would you create a sequence? And now I'm gonna show you another way how to do it. Let's delete the sequence that we've just created. So I'm gonna go to the project window, select the sequence and president late on my keyboard. So the second way to create the sequence is to click on this icon here, new item and then choose sequence here you can see different presets. So, for example, I'm gonna go to Ari. Then I'm gonna choose 10. 80 p, and I'm gonna choose 10. 80 p. It's when you're 3.976 Because I know that this is their resolution and the frame rate of my clips. Or I can go to settings right here and choose the exact settings I need manually. So again, the mains things I can do here is I can change the frame rate off my sequence and I can change its resolution right here. Make sure that the pixel aspect ratio is set to square pixels and field is said to know fuels Progressive scan. Let's name our sequence again. I'm just gonna name it editing, and now I'm going to click. OK, and now we've created a sequence where we can drag our eclipse to and start editing process 6. Basics of Editing: There are so many things you can do with editing. So let's start with the basics and then we go move on to some more advanced thinks in premier broke to start editing, you have to move your clips to the timeline, and there are two ways how to do it. So let me show. Get the first way. Let's go to Clips folder in the project window analyst. Just Dragon Drop and you clip to the timeline. You can press space bar to play it or just move the play hat to screw up through the clip, and the second way is to double click on the clip and it's gonna be opened in the preview window. And here we can see a clip off a girl woken straight and making a 3 60 term. Let's suppose that we don't want to have the entire clip on the timeline. Instead, we just need a little part of the clip right before she starts making a turn and a little bit after she makes the turn. So I need to create in and out point, just like the exact moment that I need. I'm just gonna move the play hat to the moment right before the girl starts making a turn. So and both here and then I'm going to click on this icon here, Mark in. Then I'm gonna move the play hat to the moment where she starts woken straight again, and I'm going to click on the second Aiken mark out. You can also create in and out points with shortcuts. So let me reset this election. I'm just going to right click and I'm gonna click on Clear, in and out. And instead of clicking on this icons here, you can just find the right moments and press I on your keyboard to mark in and then press O on your keyboard to mark out. Now you can see that we have a selection right here. And if I dragged the clip to the timeline, you can see that we have a clip of the girl making its earn without too much walking before that. So let's figure out how the timeline when the works, because this is where all the magic happens. So now I have two clips on my timeline, and right below you can see a scroll bar. I can move it to the right or to the left. I can also zoom out or into my timeline just by dragging this point right here. We have video and audio tracks on the timeline. It also says here V one v two, V three, which stands for video, and right below it says a one a two, a three, a four and so on, which stands for audio, for example, of this clip right here, clip to has both video and audio tracks. Now I can make any of the tracks bigger or smaller. For example, if I want to make V to attract number one bigger, I just need to place my mouse between video track number one and two. I need to replace my mouth's on this line here and just drag it up, were down. Or I can just double click on this space right here. And I can do the same with audio tracks. Let me just choose a clip that has some sound. I'm just gonna double click on it. Then I'm going to click this icon here to see audio waves, and I'm going to create in an outpoint to make a selection. Then I'm gonna go back to video preview. By clicking on this, I can hear, and I'm gonna drag the clip to the timeline. Just click anywhere on the frame and drag it to the timeline now, because the clip has sound. I can see audio waves here, so let me just make the audio track bigger by dragging the line and you can see audio waves clearly. Now, also, I can move video and audio separately from the preview window. So let me delete the last clip. I'm just gonna select it and press delete on my keyboard. Now, if I only want to have video from the selected clip on my timeline, I have this little I can hear. That's as drag video only. So if I click on it on drag it to the timeline, you can see that Onley video is moved. So there is no audio on the audio track like before. And if I want to have audio on Lee, we have this little I can hear the second icon that says Jack Audio only. So I'm going to click on it and drag it to the timeline. So now you can see that we've added audio track on our timeline. So basically editing is moving video and audio files around. And of course, I can do it here in the timeline window. So let's add one more clip to the timeline. But before I'm going to select these files and I'm gonna delete them that I'm gonna go to Project Window, select this clip, make a selection and move both video and audio to the timeline by dragging the entire frame to the timeline. So now I have three clips on the timeline. Here is the first clip, the second clip and the 3rd 1 I can move any clip to the right or to the left. I can move them all together if I just like them all like that. And now I can move them all. I can change the order of them. So, for example, I can select the very last clip with feet and make it the very 1st 1 So I'm gonna select it and move it to the left. And now you can see that this clip is in the very beginning off the timeline. Now, let's see what happens if I take this clip, put it on video track number two and then drag it above the clip on video track number one . As you can sell, we can see the video that was on video track number one anymore. Let me just make it smaller on DSM in just a bit. So if I move this clip right here, clip three below clip number two, we're not going to be able to see it as well. And this is because the clip on video track number two is dominating. So everything that's going to be put underneath the clip on video track number two is not going to be visible. If I want to see the clips from video truck number one again, I can just move the clips so that there is nothing above them and I can view them again. Now, let's suppose that you wanted to move clip number three and you accidentally overrode Clip number four like that doesn't mean that the part of the clip that you just overrode is gone now. Well, of course not. This is an editing program. You can do whatever you want to fix that. I'm just gonna move the clip number three to the right to make some room. Then I'm gonna place my mouth to the right side of the clip that I've just over written, and I'm gonna drag it to the right to make the clip longer again. So not only in the preview window you can choose the what part of the video you need, but you can also make your clips longer or shorter in the timeline window. So, for example, if I decide that I don't want the clip number two to be so long, I can just trim it from the right side and make it shorter, or I can trim in from the left side just like that. Now, let me delete the audio here. And if I move clip number four to clip number two, you will see that it snaps to clip number two just like that, as if both clips are magnetic. And this is because we have this snap to enabled here. So it says here, snap in timeline. If I disable it, the clips will no longer snap to each other. I always prefer to have this snap to own because it makes it easier to work with clips. Now let's add some more clips to the timeline. But first, I'm gonna select all of the clips and move them to the very beginning of the timeline. Then I'm gonna go to Project Window and just add some were clips here. Let's suppose that you're afraid to delete or override the clips from video truck number one by accident. So what you can do is you can lock the whole track by clicking on this. I can hear it, says Tuggle, Track lock. As soon as you do it, you won't be able to move, delete or override the clips that are on video track number one and you can lock any track like that. So let me make the window a little bit bigger so he can look video track number two Number three. And you can also lock audio tracks. And the last thing I want to show you in this section is how to disable a track. So right now you can see that we have two clips on video track number two, which means that we can see the clips that are on video track number one. If I do want to see the clips that are on video track number one. I need to disable video track number two, and I can do it by clicking on this. I can hear this. I Aiken it says so go track outputs. And now the video track Number two is disabled, so these two clips are still there, but we just can't see them. If you want to enable the truck, just click on this. I I can again. So now you know how to do the basic editing in Premiere Pro. You can move your clips to the timeline. You can trim them the way you need. And you can also change their order to create some kind of a story. And now you're ready to move on to some more advanced techniques. 7. Advanced Editing Techniques: Now let's I've been into some more advanced editing techniques in Premier Pro. All right, let's start with the tools window, which you confined right next to the timeline window right here. If you don't see it, just go to window, find tools and make sure it is selected. Inside the tools window, you can see different tools that can help you edit your videos. So let me drive a couple of videos to the timeline, this one on this one, for example. Then I'm gonna zoom in just a bit, and here is our clips. So by default, you always have the selection to selected. If it's not selected for some reason, just click on it or breast V on your keyboard. So this election to is quite simple. It just lets you move your clips inside the timeline window so you can move your eclipse to the right or left, or you can move them up or down the next. Very important, so we're gonna talk about is the razor tool. So to selected, just click on it or breast C on your keyboard. With the razor tool, you can add cuts to your clips. So, for example, I can make it cut to this clip. I'm going to cut it just in health, and now you can see that we have two different parts off the same clip. And now I can move the second part of the clip to the right and put clip number four in the middle like that. Let me just make this track a little bit bigger. So now what we have is the beginning of the clip. Then we cut to another shot, and then clip number two continues. You can also get rid of unwanted part of your clips with the razor to. So, for example, if I don't want this clip to be so long and I wanted to end here, one way to make it shorter is by trimming it just like that. Let me undo that with controls. That, and another way to make the clip shorter is to select the razor tool and add a cut right here. Then you can select this part and just deleted by pressing delete on your keyboard. Personally, I never used the razor to like that, because I have a special keyboard shortcut to add cuts to my clips and This is how real professionals work. So let's create a keyboard shortcut to add cuts to our eclipse. Let's go to edit. And here I'm gonna click on keyboard shortcuts now in the search window type and and it and let's change the default shortcut. So just click on Control K and Press s on your keyboard. Then just delete the control key. A short cut. This way we will be able to edit much faster. And since we're here, let's change a couple more shortcuts. So let's go to the search window and type. Zoom in and let's change this shortcut as well. So just click on it and press W on your keyboard and delete the old shortcut. And let's change one more shortcut. Just type zoom out. Analysts changes. Shortcut to que and the lead the haute shortcut and let's click OK, to get back to editing. Now, let me explain you what we just did by creating the shortcuts. So now, for example, if I want to add a cut to this clip right here, let me just zoom in so I don't need to go to Razor to then click here to add a cut let me just do that. What I can do. Instead, I can just drag the play had where I needed to be and just breast s on my keyboard to create a cut. And I can add as many cuts as I need just by moving the play had. And this shortcut can save you a bunch of time because now you don't need to switch between tools anymore. Another two shortcuts we now have is W and Q buttons. So before, if we wanted to zoom out or into the timeline, we needed to use the scroll bar like that. And now you can just press Q or W Chisholm out or in, and this helps a lot. When you want to add cuts to your clips, let me explain you what I mean. So I'm gonna press Q a couple of times, threw them out and then dragged the play, had to the very beginning off the timeline. And now, since the play had is in the very beginning, when the press W to zoom in is going to be zoomed in right where the play hat ISS and it always works like that. And now, by present, as on my keyboard, I can add a cut to every single frame, and I'm gonna delete every second frame by selecting it and pressing delete on my keyboard . Now I'm gonna zoom out using Q button on my keyboard. Move the play had to the very beginning and press space bar to see what we've done. As you can see, we've created this Interest Inc flickering effect just by using the razor to let's move on to the next tool in the tools window. But first, I'm going to select all the videos and press delete on my keyboard to the lead Old Eclipse . And now I'm gonna add some more clips. Let's add the new ones just like that. So the next to I want to show you is this track select forward to? So if I select it, you will see that now we have these two arrows on our timeline. And now if I click anywhere on the timeline, for example here, everything beyond this point will be selected. So if I, for example, want to drag over the clips, I just need Teoh click in the very beginning of the timeline, and then I can move older clips like that. Now, let me add some more clips to explain it Better to you. So I'm gonna add this clip like this. I'm gonna add this one like that and maybe this one as well, and I'm gonna move some of them here, so I'm just randomly adding clips to the timeline to explain how this track select forward tool works. So now we have a bunch of clips on the timeline, and instead of moving every clip individually, I can just select the point on the timeline and everything that is beyond the point is going to be moved. So, for example, I can click here and now this cliff will be moved. Or if I clip here, everything that is beyond this point will be moved. Or if I click for example here, everything apart from the very first clipped will be moved. Now, let me move this one clip closer to the rest of the clips to show you the next to. So if you have a look at the tools window, you will see that some Aikens have this little triangle in the bottom corner, which means that if you click and hold on any of the Aikens with this little triangle, there is going to be a drop down menu. So let's click and hold on tracks I look forward to, and you can see that there is a drop down menu with another to track the like backward to. So let's select. The tracks are like backwards so and see what it does. So this to work the same way as select forward to. But instead of selecting everything that is beyond the point where you click it, select everything that is before the point where you click. So, for example, if I click here, you will see that only these two clips will be selected. And then I can move them if I click here everything that is before this point. So all these clips are selected, and now I can move them. If I want to select older clips, I just need to click here so that old Eclipse are selected, and now I can move all the clips at once. Now let's go back to the tools window, Click and hold here and select track. Select forward to again. Let's suppose that you only want to move the clips that are on video track number one so which you can do is you can hold shift on your keyboard, then select the clips that are on video truck number one and only these clips will be selected. So now if I take this election so I can move these clips on Lee. Another way to select multiple clips is just by selecting them like that. Or, for example, if you only want to select video without audio, you can hold out on your keyboard and then select video on Lee so the audio is not selected as you can see. That way we can, for example, select all the audio and then click delete on your keyboard to get rid of audio. Now, before we move on to the next to let me share a couple of tips with you to make your workflow war efficient. Now, before we move on to the next to let me share a couple of tips with you to make your workflow more efficient. If you want to make a copy off a clip, you can just select it. Then press control C on your keyboard dragged the play, had to where you want, then you clip to be and then press control V to baste the clip. Be careful and pay attention at what video and idea truck is selected. So if I select video track number two inside of video track number one and then press control V, you can see that video was copied to video track number two. Let's elect video track number one again. Another way to make a copy off a clip is by holding out while moving it. So if I start moving this clip than I hold out and when I released the clip, you can see that a new copy is created now. You can also create a copy off a clip by moving it to another track. So, for example, if I drag this clip to video track number three and then I press wrote, and when I released the clip, you can see that a new copy was created on video track number three. Now let's delete some of the clips from our timeline, so I'm gonna select them like that, then President lead on my keyboard, and I'm gonna add a clip that was shot in slow motion so Here's the clip. I'm just gonna drag it to the timeline. So here's the clip that was shot in slow motion. Let me delete the audio first. So I'm gonna press wrote on my keyboard that I'm going to select the audio truck and I'm gonna press delete to the lead the idea. And now let's go to the tools window. Click and hold this I can hear and select right stretch toe or just click R on your keyboard. So what this to allows me to do is to stretch a clip or compress it to speed it up or slow down. So now if I select the clip and dragged the end off the clip to the right, I will stretch the clip and it will play back at 4 to 6% off its original speed. So now let's see what we have. As you can see, we've created this smooth, slow motion because the clip was shot in 60 frames per second, whereas our timeline is set to 24 frames per second the same way I can speed up any clip. So if I dragged the end of the clip to the left now I will compress the clip which will make it play faster. So let me zoom in just a bit. And now, as you can see, the speed of the clip is now set to 236% off its original speed. So if I played back now, it will be really fast. Have a look. Another way to change the speed of your clip is by right clicking on it and selecting speed duration and you can see that a new window opened up here. You can also decrease or increase the speed of your clip. Since my clip was shot in 60 frames per second, I need to slow down to 14% because the timeline is set to 24 frames per second. So here is quick mass for you, 60 frames per second multiplied by 40% and we get 24 frames per second, which is what we need. So let's click. OK, and now you can see that the clip is slow again. Also, if you right click on your clip, select speed duration and then choose reverse speed and then click OK, the clip will go backwards. So have a look. And this is just a quick tip for you and other two tools that I often use our this pencil right here and the type tool right here. But we're going to get back to them a little bit later. There are more tools in the tools window, but I only showed you the once and that I find most useful. The majority of editors never use the tools apart from the ones that I've shown you. 8. Adjust Clips' Properties: Now we're going to discuss how to change clips, properties and apply different kind if effects to your videos. All right, let's drag a couple of clips that it's online, and then let's go to this window here. Source. Window and select effect controls tap. If you don't see this tap, just go to window and make sure that effect controls is selected at the moment, it says. No clip selected. So let's just select a clip. And now, as you can see, we have many different properties of the clip that we can change. Let's start with position, so basically you can move your clip horizontally or vertically. And if you want to reset the position property, you just have to click here. Reset Paramus hurt. Then you can see scale. So basically, if you increase the number, you will make your clip larger, and at the same time you can move your clip the same way I can make the clip smaller if I need to. Just by reducing this number here and let's move into the middle, you canosa, rotate your clip one way or another way. The next parameter is Anger point, which is this blue circle Here, let me just zoom in. So this blue circle is the anchor point. If you don't see it like that, just go to effect controls and click on motion, and you will be able to see it. Right now, the anchor point is right in the middle of the clip. So if I rotate the clip, it's gonna be rotated around this point. But if I move the anchor point to the top left corner and then rotated again, you can see that the clip is rotated according to the position off this point. Same refers to scale. If I decide to reduce the scale of the clip, he's gonna be reduced according to this point. All right, let's reset everything by clicking on these arrows here. And the next thing I want to show you is capacity. You can make your video less or more transparent. Let me move this clip to video track number two and move this clip under it, and I'm gonna show you one more thing. So I'm going to select the clip on video track number two. Here it ISS. Then I'm gonna go to effect controls and see what happens when I change the opacity as I decrease it. You can see the clip that is below it so you can see the clip number three and right below capacity. You can change the blend mode of your clip to create different looks. For example, if I click on this arrow here and then choose multiply, for example, I can create this interesting look from my video. I'm going to set it back to normal because I don't want to use annual blending modes for my video. 9. Effects: and now I'm gonna show you how to add different creative effects to your clips. All right, let's go to the been window, and here you will be able to find effect sap. If you don't see, just click on these two arrows here and select effects. And now you can see a list of different things, Bree says. Lumet trip presets, audio effects, audio transitions, video effects and so on. But for now, we only are going to focus on video effects. So let's click on this arrow here to expand video effects, and I'm going to make the window a little bit bigger. First, I'm going to show you how to add an effect to your clip. For example, if I want to blur this clip right here, I just need to find, blur and sharpen inside video effects folder expanded and, for example, I can drag the gosh and blurry effect right to my click. So I'm just gonna click on it and hold it and drag it to my clip, and then I'm going to release it. As you can see, nothing happens. So let's fix that. So let's go to the source window and select effects controls Tap. Make sure your clip is selected and here you can see the effect that we just added. Gosh, and blur. So right inside the effect control step, we can change the settings off our effects that we apply to the clips. So if I want to blur the clip, I just need to increase the value of blurriness right here and let's edit to around 100. And now you can see that the clip is blurt if you want to delete in effect, you just have to select it in effect control. Stop. So I'm going to select Goshen Blur and then breasts and delete on my keyboard. And now you can see that we deleted the gosh and blur effect. Another effect I want to show you is horizontal flip effect. So right now the girl is walking from right to left. And let's suppose that I want her to awoke from left to right. So I need to add horizontal flip effect. And instead of going through oldest effects right here trying to find horizontal flip, I'm just going to type it right here horizontal and you can see horizontal flip and by typing the effect names that you already know. You save a lot of your time. So right now you can see horizontal flip here, and I'm gonna do the same thing. I'm just gonna select it, hold it and drag. It's you my clip, and I'm going to release it. And now you can see that we flipped the clip and the girl is walking from left to right now . And you can also see the horizontal flip effect in effect, controls tap. Let's add one more effect and make the clip black and white. So I'm gonna go to effect sap and I'm gonna type black white, and I'm gonna drag the black and white effect to my clip. Now the clip became black and white, and you can also see that black and white effect in effect Control sap. All right, let's move to the next effect. So here on the timeline, I have a clip. Have a look, and the clip is very shaky because it was shot hand helped, but we can get rid of the shaking is by applying work stabilizer effect. So let's go to effect stop and type work stabilizer and dragged the effect to our clip. Now you can see it's us analyzing in background, which means that Premier pro stabilizes the clip. Once the Clippers symbolized, the analyzing in background will be gone. So let's have a look at the clip after applying warp stabilizer. Look how smooth it is now and here is the before. So let me go to effect controls select warp stabilizer and by clicking this affects. I can hear. I can disable the effect. So here's the before very shaky and let me turn it back on and here's after. As you can see, the difference is huge. But what if you don't want your footage to be so smooth? But you just wanted to be a little bit smoother? Well, in that case, you have an option to reduce the value off house Muth. You want your footage to be so let's go to effect control Stop! And here underworked stabilizer. You have this value here, 50% of smoothness, so let's make it 3%. So now if you have a look, you can see that the footage is now stabilized, but not so much so There is still a little bit off shake, which is what we want it now. Like I said before, there are hundreds and hundreds off effects, and the best way to learn them all is just by experimenting. So what you might want to do is just go to effects tap right here than expand video effects and then expend some more folders here and just drag effects one by one. For example, Aiken, drag the invert effect right here and just see what it does. And just like that, you confined effects that you like and that you want to use in your future videos. 10. Masking and Creative Effects: in this lesson. We're going to learn everything about masking in Premiere Pro, create cool transitions, effects and other chicks into the basics off using masking in Premiere Pro. And then we will move on to creating awesome transitions and effects. Let's elect a clip from our timeline, then go to affect controls. And here you will find a pass ity under opacity. There are three Aikens. Click the 1st 1 for now and you can see that our mask was created. Let's change its shape. Just drug. This points here and here and now you can see that our girl was masked out the way we need . We can change the position of our mask if we just hold our mouths. And then we can move our mask to any position. We can also feather the edges off our mask if we go here, mask, feather, and change this number from 10 to, for example, 400. Now you can see that the feather off our mask changed. Let's bring it back to zero. You can also make your mask bigger or make it smaller. So if you go to mask expansion and play around with this number here So, as you can see, you can increase your mask or shrink it down. Let's go back to zero, and the last thing you can do here in opacity, you can invert your mask so you feel click here. This box. You can see that now Our mask is inverted. Now, if I put our clip to video layer number two just like that and put another clip under our main clip, you can see our mask in action and everything that's going to be below. Our main clip is going to be visible. Let's delayed our oval shaped mask, so go to a pass, ity a mask and click delete on your keyboard. And now let's click on the second icon, that rectangle Aiken. And now you can see that we've created and rectangle shape so same thing you can increase its feather. You can also expanded, were shrink it down, or you can change its shape by dragging one of the corners or all of them. For example, let's delete it. And here is that so I used most open is the Bantul, so I'm gonna select it, and now I can draw any shape that I need so I just need to create some points here on the screen, and now you can see that our mask was created. If you need, you can make some of the corners of your mask around it. If I zoom in just a bit, then click and hold on my keyboard and click on one of the corners. You can see that now we have the option to play around with it and changes roundness just like that, and we can do it with any corner. If you decide that you need to have some more points for your mask, you can just click anywhere on the edge of the shape and create new points just like that. And then you can move them to change the shape of damask. You can make them around it again. If you click and hold out on your keyboard and move your mask to any position, let's learn how to clone a person in Premiere Pro. For this effect, you will need to put your camera on a tripod so that it doesn't move and also make sure that the lighting doesn't change. I have a clip of a girl standing in the middle of the shot. Then she runs to the right side of the shot, and then she runs to the left side of the shot. Just like that. What we want is we want to see the girl in three different positions at once. So we will need to clone the girl three times using masks. Since we're gonna have three clones of the girl, we need to have three copies of our clip on top of each other, so I'm just going to select our clip. Then I'm gonna hold out and copy our clip by dragging it to Leader Layer number two. And I'm gonna do it one more time. So, like our second clip hold wrote and drag, it's a video layer number three to create another copy. So I'm gonna disable top two layers so that we only see layer number one, and I'm going to keep this position until the girl starts running right here. Then I'm gonna disable it and enable our second copy, and I'm gonna find the right moment. So right here. And I'm gonna wait and cut when the girl starts running again. So right here. Now, when a disable our second layer and turn own our third layer. And I'm gonna find our third position right here, and I'm gonna go to down. Now I need to put three copies on top of each other, just like that on day, I'm gonna enable our two layers as well. Let's make all of our eclipse the same length and start masking. We're going to start from the top video track and then go to the bottom because the top video truck has the priority off what we actually see on the screen. So let's elect our top clip than go to effect controls capacity. Let's select this pen to write here and let's draw a shape around our girl and don't forget to include her shadow as well. So here is our mask and straight away you can see that we've just created a clone. It's because now we can see everything that is located under our top clip. So here's our original mask, and if I enable everything that's below, we're going to see it as well. Now let's mask out our second clone. Let's elect our middle clip. Go to effect, controls opacity, select Bantu and draw a shape around the second clone just like that, and now you can see that we have some problems, so we have two masks. But here you can see that our first mask is a little bit bigger. That's why it kind of overlays our third clone to think that let's adjust the shape off our mask. So let's elect our top clip. Click on mask and let's adjust its shape so that it doesn't cover our third clone just like that. But we have another problem here. If I zoom in, you can see that we can clearly see where our mask iss can. You see this edge is because while the girl was running from one position to another, delighting changed. That's why. Now somewhere is brighter and somewhere is darker, so we can fix that by feathering. You can see the same problem here, So if I choose our top clip, go to effect controls opacity and I can increase feather to make the edge not visible, and now you can see the problem is sold. Let's do the same with our second clone. Select the middle clip with our second girl, go to effect controls mask and let's feather out our second mask at just its shape, just a little bit, and now you can see that we've created a simple but very nice effect. Just like that. In a couple of minutes, you can clone yourself, your friend or your actor to make your videos more interesting. Now we're going to create an awesome transition to make your videos better For this transition, you have to think ahead of time and make sure to have a foreground object that passes the screen from right to left or from left to right. It's always better to have both clips moving in the same direction for a better result. All right, let's get started. Like I said before, in order to make the effect work, you need to have something in the foreground of your shot. In my case is this metal thing right here. And as it passes the screen, we're gonna mask out the right side of the shot to reveal the next shot. And this way we're going to make the transition work. So if you have a look here, I have this medal pool right here, and as it passes the screen, we reveal our next shot and this holiday effect works. Let's move on to creating that transition. I just need to find the frame where we started seeing the right side off our foreground object right here at a cut. Select the clip and go. Jeff controls capacity, Then select spend too. I'm gonna zoom out just a bit so that we have some room to play around. And now I need to start masking everything that goes after our foreground object. I'm just gonna draw a mask right here. Then I need to invert it. So take this box here. Then I'm going to click on this clock icon right here to create a key frame and start an amazing our mask. Make sure your clippers selected than press the right arrow on your keyboard to move one frame forward and adjust the mask. So clear here, mask to see the edge of your mask and adjusted to the right side off our foreground object . So, just like that, you can create one more point if you need just by clicking anywhere on the edge of the shape, click on your clip again, then arrow to the right. Moved a mask and adjusted shape, and I'm going to continue doing this and make sure that you mask out your foreground objects. So it's gone completely and the last one at the end you have to have black screen, so everything has to be masked out. Now let's see what we've done. So if I moved to clip forward frame by frame, you will see that I were foreground. Objects was successfully maxed out. Now let's put our clips on video track number two and let's put another clip underneath. Let's play our video and see our transition one more time as you can see our transitional works. But I'm not 100% happy with it. I want the edge off our mask to be a little bit softer, to blended better with our second clip and made that transition seamless. Let's elect our clip with the mask. Cut it down just a bit, Teoh, where the transition ends just like that, Then go to effect controls capacity and let's set mask feather to 100 to make the edge off our mask a little bit softer. So here's before, After before, after, and also let's play around with a mask expansion just a bit, so I think this will work and less played the video to see the transition. We've just created one more time. Very simple. In a couple of minutes, you can create this awesome transition to make your video stand out. Now we're going to learn how to apply a mask to different effects in Premiere Pro, for example, to blur someone's face or just to make it brighter. Here is our clip, and let's suppose that we need to blur the girl's face. So let's go to effects panel type. For example, God's from Blur dragged the effect to our clip. Go to effect controls. And here we can increase our blurriness to, for example, 100. Take this box for a beat edge pixels. So now you can see that the whole video is blurt, but we only need to blur the girl's face. So let's go to effect controls dog handler and let's big their lips, too, to create a mask. Let's in just its shape, just like that. Feather it out, and now we've blurt the girl's face. But here's one problem. If I play the video, you can see that as the girl moves, the mask stays in the same spot, and because of that, we can see the girl's face again. To fix that, we need to. Any made the mask so that it covers the girl's face all the time. And there are two ways how to do this manually or automatically. Let's begin with manual animation, so make sure your clip is selected than find your effect in effect controls and you have to click this. I can hear the cloak I come to create our first key frame. Here it is. So now I'm gonna move this later to see how I need to animate the position of the mask So we can see now that the head of the girl moved. So we need to adjust the position of the mask so select our clip. Go to effect controls. Gosh, Ambler, click here mask and just drug the mask to the position of the hat. Now I'm going to move this lie there again and just the position a little bit again. One more time And now let's play back. So here we can see the face again. So let's just the position a little bit again laid back. Yes. And now you can see that the face of the girl stays blurt all the time. And now I'm gonna show you an easier way how to do it. So I'm just going to leave the mask, make sure that the Clippers selected go to effect controls Go Schindler. And now I'm going to select a lips to and create a mask and just its position and shape. Feather it out just a bit. Then I need to make sure that this leather is at the very beginning off the clip. And then all I need to do is to go to effect controls gosh and blur and click on this play I can hear and Premier is going to any made the mask automatically. So now you can see that Premier created a lot of key frames according to the position of the girl's head. So less played back to see the results. Right, Leslie, the ghost Rummler effect from our clip and I'm gonna show you one more trick than I usually do When I added my views, let's go to effects panel type brightness and drag, brightness and contrast effect to our clip than increased brightness to 20 and contrast to 15. Then I'm going to select a lips to create a mask and just it's shape and position. Feather it out and you can see that the face is brighter. Now when I want a viewer to pay attention that something in this case, it's the girl's face. I just make it brighter. So as you can see, I applied Brightness and contrast Effect made the face a little bit brighter with mask. So now I'm gonna animated just by clicking this play I can hear. So now is you can see throughout the whole video the face of the girl stays bright, which is what we need. So have a look at before and after before after now I'm gonna show you how to create a simple teleport effect. For this effect, you will need to put your camera on a tripod so that it doesn't move and also make sure that the lighting doesn't change. So here's the shot that we have, and we can see the girl walking into the frame and we want her to disappear. Asked you walk behind this white pool so that we don't see her on the right side of the pool. Let's find the moment before the girl walks into the frame right here. Cut it and let's put this clip on top of the clip with the girl walking. So all we need to do now is we need to select our top clip, then go to effect, controls capacity, then select Bantu and just draw as shape like that. So this our mask But we have you can see we can feather it out just a bit turned to both of layer back on. And this is what we have now. So now you know everything about masking in Premiere Pro. So don't be afraid to experiment. Go create your own effects and transitions and I'll see you later. 11. Transitions: All right, let's talk about transitions for your videos. Let me show you how to apply transitions to your clips. All right, so these are the clips that we're going to add at transition to to find a list of different transitions. Just go to the been window here and select the effects step. If you don't see the effects sap, just click on these two arrows here and select effects. Or go to window and make sure that effects is selected. In this top, you will see video transitions folder. So let's expend it. And here you can see a list of different style off transitions like Zoom, Wipe, slide and so on. Let's expand that diesel folder, and here you will see a list off different dissolved transitions. That transition that is used most often is cold. Cross this off to apply the transition to your eclipse. You just need to drag it in between the clips and release it. As you can see now we have a warning window saying unselfish int media. This transition will contain repeated frames, and this is because that transition doesn't have enough frames to work with. So let's fix that So I'm gonna click, OK? And I'm gonna delete that transition for now. I'm just gonna click here on the transition. You can see it is selected and then press delete on my keyboard. So, like I said, that transition requires some extra frames and we don't have them because, as you can see, let me just move this clip. So, as you can see, this is the very the very lost frame of the clip. We don't have anything beyond it, so I cannot expend it on here. This is the very beginning. Off off the clip. I cannot make it longer as well, so there are no frames before it. This is why the transition doesn't work because there are no extra frames. So let's fix that. Let's just short in this clip just a bit. I'm just gonna trim it like that and I'm gonna trim this clip as well. And let's close the gap between them just by dragging this clip right here and now, See what happens when I drag the same transition again. So I'm just gonna drag it in between the clips and release it right here, and I'll have a look. What behalf As you can see now we have a smooth cross dissolve transition. Now, if you want, you can make that transition longer or shorter. So let me show you how it's done. Let me just zoom in and I'm going to select the transition just by clicking on it right here. So this box right here represents the transition or the length off transition so I can make it shorter by dragging this side. So where's the middle or this side towards the middle? So let me just make it shorter. As you can see, the box became smaller, which means that transition will not last so long now. So let's have a look. And if you need, you can make it even shorter. Just like that. Have a look now. So the same way you can add different transitions. So let me delete this one. I'm just gonna select it and press delete on my keyboard and let's go to effect stop and, for example, expand the three D motion and drag the cubes. Been transition and release it somewhere in between our clips. And let's see how this cube spin transition looks like. By the way, there is a shortcut, Hauser, at a transition to your clips. So let me delete the cube spin transition. And if I just right, click somewhere in between the clips, you will see that there is an option. Apply default transitions. So I'm gonna click here, and you can see that cross dissolve transition was added. You can also change the default transition, so all you need to do is go to effect sap and find that transition that you like. For example, dip to black right click and select set selected as difficult transition. And now, if I delete, they cross, dissolve transition from here and right click in between the clips and then select apply default transition. I will have the dip to black transition. Let's see how it looks. Not only you can apply transitions in between the clips, but you can also apply them in the very beginning or the very end off a clip. So let's drag dip to black transition to the very end off this clip right here. As you can see, we've added a transition to the very end of the clip, and this is what we have now, and we can also increase or decrease the length off this transition just like that, or make it very fast 12. Text and Graphics: Now let's talk about how you can add text and different graphic shapes to your videos, all right, so that it's easier for you to work with text and graphics. We need to change. The workspace were working, so right now on top, you can see that we are in editing workspace, so let's switch to graphics. If you don't see this work space on top, just go to window workspaces and select graphics. As you can see now, the layout off Premier has changed, and now we have a new window on the right side, which is called Essential Graphics and also the tools window has moved here. Let's start with essential graphics window. As you can see, there are two taps, browse and Edgett. Let's click on edge its first. You can see that there is a little icon right here. If you click on it, you will be able to create text very Kotex rectangle or ellipse. Or you can do the same if you go to the tools window and right here. If you click and hold on the T, I can. You will see that you can create text or vertical text, and if you click here on this Bantu, it will expand and you will see that you can create direct and go to or elop so as well. Let's create a text first. So just click here and select type two. Or if you want to use a shortcut, you can just pressed E on your keyboard. And now you can click anywhere inside the program monitor and start typing. So I'm gonna click here and I'm gonna type. This is text. So now you can see that we have text on screen and also, there was a new file created on the timeline. So let me just zoom in, expanded just a bit, and you can see that now we have and graphics clip right here on the timeline. Let me make this windows bigger, and I'm gonna show you what you can do inside the essential graphics panel. Let's start from the top. Inside this window, you can see different layers with different graphic elements. Right now, we only have one layer with text that we just created. Let's create another text layer. So let's select the text to and type text number two. And also let's create a rectangle shape So let's go to the tools window, click and hold here and select rectangle to, and I'm gonna draw a shape inside the program monitor. So right now you can see three layers inside this window. Here, let's start with the very first layer that we created and selected. This is text so you can change its position. You can make it bigger or smaller, and you can also increase or decrease its capacity. Let's suppose that you want this sex to be exactly in the middle of your video. So you just have to click on this icon here for vertical center and this I can hear for horizontal center. You can also line it to the top to the bottom, to the left, word to the right. Let's bring it back to center and let's change the funds off the text. So I'm gonna go to the Tools window, Select selection tool, and I'm gonna double click on this sex right here. So right now my text is selected and just right here, I can choose the front that I like. So let's type Bemba's. This is the phone that I like and let selected, and now you can see that the front was changed. You can also increase or decrease the size of your text by selecting the selection tool and expanding it like this, and you can also move it around inside the program monitor. Let's double click on it again and let's select text on Lee. And now I can make changes to this election on Lee. So, for example, I can decrease its size. Make it it's Alec. And so now you can also change the color off your text. So let's make sure that this layer is selected. So let's go up and just select us again to be sure that it is selected. Then let's scroll down. Click here, Phil, and let's choose the color that we like. For example, let's make the text blue and click OK, and now you can see the text became blue. Now you can also add stroke to your text. Just take this box right here and you can see that a stroke was at it. But it is a little bit too thick, so let's make it center by decreasing this number right here and let's make it white. You can create a rectangular background to your text. So let's take this box right here. Background. Then make it 100% visible. Increase its size and let's make it blue as well. So I'm gonna select this, I can hear, and I'm gonna drag it right over the sex color so that the background color is the same. And I'm gonna click here to select the same color. And the last thing you can do here is at shadow to your text. So just take this box right here, shadow, and we can change its properties just like that. And now here's a little tip for you. First, let's go up on disable these two layers. So just by clicking this icon right here, you can disable the layers, make sure that this election so he selected. And then if I press control on my keyboard and hold it and then move that sex around, premier will guide me, and I can easily find horizontal and vertical center just like that. Let's turn the rectangle shape back on. So I'm just gonna click this icon here to enable it again. Now you already know that the higher layer is the more power it has So let me just expand the timeline. So right now you can see this clip right here. And if I put this clip on top of it, I will see the clip that is on top. So if I move this clip above clip number three, I will see it again. So, yeah, they hire something is the more priority it has, the more power it has. And the same applies to him graphics and text. So let me move it here. So if I moved there rectangle shape, I wouldn't be able to see the text anymore. Because as you can see in this window, the rectangle is above our text so I can change the order off the layers right here. If I just drag it below our text layer, you will see that that sex layer is visible. Now again, let's delayed some of the layers and I'm gonna show you one more thing. So let me select the shape layer. And then, by pressing delete on my keyboard, I can delete it and lets the lead this layer as well, which was hidden. So I'm gonna select it and brushed the late on my keyboard. So Let's go to the tools window, click and hold this icon right here and select. LF so right now you can draw any ellipse that you want, you can change its color. You can add stroke, and you can add shadows. Well, if you need to. If you decide that you want to change its shape a little bit, just select the selection tool or just press V on your keyboard. And now you can change its shape just by dragging its sights. Let's delete this shape for now, so I'm gonna select it and press the late on my keyboard, and you can also create a custom shape. So if we go to the tools window again, click and hold here and select mental, you can draw any shape that you want. So, for example, I enjoy shaped like that. Let me just get rid of the stroke and shadow. I can change position off each of the points. I can create a new point. Let me just do men, So if I just click anywhere on the line, a new point will be created. And if I click and hold out on my keyboard and then click on on any of the corners, the corner will become rounded so I can change its shape like that now as well. So again, I'm gonna press and hope all on my keyboard, and then I can make the corner round it. So this how you can create custom shapes in premier broke. Now, if we go to the source window and select the effect controls tap, you can see that you have text layer here. Let's expand it and you can change. Some of the properties here is well, you can change, for example, the text color, the background color and so on. But I find the essential graphics panel a little bit more convenient when I work with text or graphics. Now let's move on to the browse tap inside the essential graphics panel. So I'm going to click on browse right here on top, and then I'm gonna click on Adobe Stock and select free. And right now you can see a list of different templates that you can use for free in Premiere Pro. But in order to use them, you need to have adobe after effects, so if you don't have it, just go to creative clout and make sure that adobe after effects is installed. And these are some advanced templates that you can use for your videos. So, for example, I'm just gonna drag this assembly to my timeline. And now you can see the template in action so I can change the text, for example. So I'm gonna type at a think and it's going to be changed automatically. So have a look. And this is how templates work. So just go to browse, find that simply that you like, and then you can just import it to your timeline. 13. Custom Animations: Let's get to custom animations and learn how to work with keep frames in from your broke. All right, so now we're in premier, and first thing that we need to do is we need to make sure that we are in editing work space. If you don't see it like that, just go to window workspaces and select editing. Then I'm going to go to the project window, select my folder photos and dragged the photo Better have here to my timeline and make it a bit longer so that it's about five seconds longer. And now I'm going to go to Effect Control Step, which is in the source window. Select my image, and I'm going to scale it down just a bit like that. And now I want to Any made that position property so that my image starts right here and then it goes like this and subs here. So, basically, we're going to animate this position property right here. So let's move it to our starting position first like that. And now we will work with the clip timeline. So basically, we have our edit timeline right here, and each individual clip has its own timeline, which is right here. If you don't see it, just click on this arrow here. So if I click on this arrow, I can expand the clip timeline or collapse it, so make sure it is expanded and I'm going to make it a little bit bigger like that. And you can also see when I move the play hat inside the clip timeline. The play had also moves in the main timeline. All right, so let's start animating. So basically, animation is moving a clip from Point A to point B, and Premier has so called key frames to help us create points A and B. So let's create our first key frame by clicking on this stuff. Watch right here, Tuggle Animation. And now you can see that a key frame was created right here. Now I'm going to move forward just a bit and change the position off our clip to the right side, and now you can see that a second key frame was created automatically. So now our image starts here and ends here, and let's see what's going to happen when I play the clip. So I'm gonna move the play hatch at the very beginning and press space bar to start playing , You can see that our clip is now moving, which is what we wanted to do. So this is our first animation. But what if I want the animation to go a little bit faster, so I just need to take the second key frame and moving closer to the 1st 1 That way we reduce the time from Point A to Point B, which will make our animation go faster. So let's have a look, and you can see that now it goes way faster because we reduced the distance between the key frames. Now we can also create key frames for different properties at the same time. So let's suppose that I want my clip to go from left to right and scale up at the same time . So I'm gonna move the play hat to the fair ski frame like that Limoges zoom in so that we can see it better. And now I'm gonna click on this stuff. Watch right here to enable scale animation, and you can see that the first scale key frame was created. And now let's move the play head to the second key frame. And here's a little tip from me is gonna be way easier if you hold shift while moving the play hat because is gonna make it kind of snap to the second key frame. Work to any key frame. So see, I'm holding shift now, and I can easily switch between the key frames. So let's move it to the second key frame while holding shift like that. And let's maybe decrease the scale property instead of increasing. So let's said the scale property to zero like that. And now let's see what we have. So we've created this animation when our picture stars going from left to right, and also it scales down till it disappears completely because our scale is set to zero. Just a little reminder for you that you can change the speed off your animation. So let me zoom out just a bit, and I can select both key frames for position and scale, and I can move them a little bit forward to increase the distance between the key frames. And that way the animation will go with slower like that. Let's delete old scale keep frames for now. So what I need to do is I just need to click on this stuff. Watch again and Premier will say this action will delete existing key frames. Do you want to continue? And I'm going to just click. OK, so now, as you can see, the key frames were deleted. Let's create a couple more position key frames so that you understand how to work with key frames. Better let me just zoom out. And let's suppose that we want our clip to go from left to right and then straight away from right to left. So this is the first key frame. Then we move forward and the clip moves to the right. Let's move forward just a bit and move our clip to the left again like that. And a new key frame, as you can see, was created automatically. So this is what we have now. But what if I want my clip to go from left to right? Then stop for a second and only then go from right to left again. So let me show you how this can be done. Let me delete the key frame that we just create it, so I'm gonna select it and press delete on my keyboard. So this is the final position off our clip, and let's create another key frame with the same property. But let's move forward just a bit like that. And let's create a new key frame right here with the same position. So here you can find another Aiken, which says, Add or remove Keefe ring. So let's click on it and you can see that a new key frame was created. But as I move from this key frame to this key frame, nothing happens because these two key frames have the same position. Properties. Let's move them closer to the first key frame so that animation goes faster. Then we can see that nothing happens. And let's move our image from this position to the starting position again. So I moved forward just a bit, and now I'm going to change the position to our point A and let's see what we have now. So now we've created this advanced animation with four key frames, but I don't really like how the animation looks because, as you can see, our animation just starts moving and then stops moving. The speed is the same all the time, which doesn't look very professional. So let's fix that. Let me delayed the lost two key frames. Then I'm gonna increase the distance between the key frames, which will make the animation go a little bit slow where because we're increasing the time off the animation. And now if I right click the first key frame, you can see it's us temporal interpolation here and I'm gonna choose ease out. This will make my animation starts slowly, and then it will gain the speed. So let's have a look. Let me decrease the distance and increase the speed off our animation so that you can see it better. So now the start of the animation is smooth, and let's make the end off our animation smooth as well. So I'm going to right click on the second key frame, select temporal interpolation, and here I'm gonna choose Ease in, and this will make my animation slow down before the end. So let's have a look. Now let me increase our a preview window and have a look way better. Isn't that so? Just remember, if you want your animation to start slowly, just right, click on your first key frame. Select Sapporo interpellation and choose ease out. And then, if you want your animation to end slowly select the second key frame. Then it's impor Oh, interpellation and he's in. This is very important. Another very important animation is the animation off a pass city, and there are two ways how to animate it. So let me show you both. But first, let me delete the key frames for position, so I'm going to select them and press the late on my keyboard. Or I could just click on the stopwatch, and that would delete my key frames as well. All right, so let's move to opacity. Let's move the play head to the very beginning, and let's say that we want our clip to go from zero opacity to 100 opacity and by default. The animation for opacity is already active, so there is no need to click on this stuff. Watch Aiken to start animating, so let's just reduce the capacity to 0% and you can see that and you key frame was created here. Let me just move it here so that you can see it better and let me move forward just a bit. Just one second forward and let's increase the capacity to 100% and let's play back. So we have to keep frames right here which represent going from 0 to 100. Let's move forward just a bit. Create another key frame for 100 capacity, move forward a bit and reduce their pass it each of zero so that it goes to black and let's played back and you could notice. As we created this four key frames, some dots were added to our clip. So one dup to death 3.4 dot Let me just increase it and zoom in just a bit. So these are the four dots that were created and they represent that capacity key frames. So if I delete some of the dots, they will be deleted from here as well. Let's click on this stuff watch icon right here to the lead over the key frames. And now I'm gonna show you the second wait. How to create key frames when it comes to animating the opacity over your clip. Let me make the window a little bit bigger and increase the video track on the very top of the clip, you can see that there is a line which I can drag down and up, and this line represents opacity. So if I dragged the line down to about 50% the opacity off are a clip will be reduced to 50%. I can make it zero, and we wouldn't be able to see the Clipper told. Let's bring it back to 100 like that. So now if I want to create key frames for capacity without going to effect controls, I just need to select the clip, then present. Hold control on your keyboard, drag your mouse to the A pastor line and click anywhere to create a key frame. So let's create two key frames for now. Now I can move the first key frame down like that 20 and I will create this kind of animation. So my capacity, as you can see now goes from zero to 100. I can. This will make the animation go faster, so if you have a look at the time now my animation takes one second and 16 frames. I can make it go exactly one second, so I just need to move the key frame to the blade head position. And now my animation will take only one second. Let's greet another key frame. So again I'm gonna press and hold control on my keyboard and then click anywhere on the line to create another key frame and I'm gonna drag it down like that. So now our animation goes up and down Let's create another one and bring it up another one and bring it down. And just like that, we created this interesting animation. When our picture appears and disappears, let's delete older oh, plasticky frames. So I'm gonna go to effect controls and I'm gonna click on the stopwatch right here and breast OK to the lead. Hold the key frames. And now I'm gonna show you how you can animate the effects. So let's go to the project window. Select effects right here. And I'm gonna type Goshen Blur. So here it is, and I'm gonna drag it to my clip. And now if I go to effect controls, you can see that. Now we have Goshen Blur effect right here, and it also has stuff. Watch right here. So let's create key frames for Goshen Blur effect. Let's move our play head to about two seconds. Then I'm going to click on the stuff, watch to enable the animation, and I'm gonna increase the value of learn ISS to about 700 like that. Then I'm gonna go to the very beginning off our clip, and I'm gonna said that blurriness zero and now see what happens. As time goes, our image becomes blurry. We can reduce the time off our animation so that it goes faster and we can also make it go from zero blurriness to 700 and then 20 again if we just decrees this number 20 See what happened just like that. And this is a great way how you can reveal some images or text. Let me show you an example. So I'm gonna move my blade head here. I'm going to select the text to and I'm gonna type. This is text. I'm gonna make it just a little bit longer like that. And let's at Goshen blur effect to our text. Go to effect controls and you can see gosh and blur here. So let's turn on our animation by clicking this stuff. Watch right here. and let's increase the blurriness to about 500. Then let's go. Let's move forward just a bit and decrease it back to zero. Now see what we have. So we've created this nice animation off our text. You can also easily copy your animation. So let me, for example, add some or key frames to our text. So let's go to the very beginning. So, like position move forward just a bit, and I'm gonna any made it so that it goes to about here. And I'm also going to right click and select. He's in so that my text slows down before the end. Let's see what we have. So this is our animation. Now let's create another text and I'm gonna show you how you can copy and based your animation. So this is text number two. I'm gonna make it bigger. And if I want to apply the same animation, I just need to select my previews text clip, Then click on Vector Motion and Press Control, see on my keyboard. Then select my second clip and press control V. And as you can see, our key frames were Bassitt. So this is what we have and let's also copy and paste the Goshen Blur effect. So again, I'm going to select the first sex. Then I'm going to select Goshen Blur, and I'm gonna press control, see on my keyboard. Then I'm going to select my second text, and I'm gonna press control V two based the settings. And as you can see now, we've successfully copy it. And, Basit, that animation that we wanted. 14. Cinematic Color Correction: in this lesson, you're going to learn everything about color, correcting and color. Grading in from your pro color correcting can dramatically improve the look of your video and make your video look like a big budget movie. So let's start learning how to color correct in Premiere Pro, and I'm also gonna show you how to make any footage look like a movie with color grading. You have to understand that color correcting and color grading is a creative process, so there is no right or wrong way how to do it. I'm going to show you my work, though, off working with color, and then you will be able to copy my work flow or come up with your way off color correcting and color grading. First, let's understand the basics. Terminology. Off color correction. There is hue, saturation, and Luba Hugh is the name we call colors. Saturation is the vividness or intensity of the hue, and Lou MMA is the brightness of hue, all right to start color correcting. You need to go to color tap on top of Premier pro. Just click here on this covered step and the layout off Premiere Pro will change so that it's easier for you to work with your videos. On the right side, you conceal a metric color panel. This is where we will make, oh, the adjustments under law. Metric color. You can see different saps basic correction, creative curves, cholera wheels and match ages, cell secondary and a vignette. Let's start from the top basic correction to enable basic direction. Make sure you select the clip that you want to color. Correct. In my case, this is the clip just two guys sitting and looking at the laptop. First thing you can do in the basic direction top is you can change the white balance. You can make your video cooler warmer, or you can change that sense of your video. For example, if you shot a video and then you noticed that the white balance is off, for example, it's to work. You can make it normal again just by dragging this leather. Also, Premiere Pro can fix the white balance automatically for you. So, for example, you shot a video and then you notice that it's too cool. Premier can help you fix that. Just click on the selector to, and then you have to find something that you know is white for sure. For example, I know that the doorframe is white, so I just have to click here and from year will fix the white balance automatically for you . All right, The next thing you can do in basic direction top is you can change the exposure of the video. So if it dragged us, lie there to the right. You will make the whole video brighter. If you drag it to the left, you will make the whole video darker. If you want to reset the parameter here, you can just type zero. You can drag it back to zero, or you can just double click anywhere on the line, and it will reset automatically. You can also increase or decrease the contrast of your video. Let me just make the window a little bit bigger. So here is the increase contrast. And here the decreased. You can also play around with highlights. Shadows, whites and blacks. Basically, highlights are the Breitbart's of your image. Shadows are the dark parts of her image. Whites are the brightest parts, and blacks are the darkest parts, like this wool right here. So if I just highlights. You can see that. For example, the table. The laptop brightness is changing than the shadows. Everything that's dark changes. If I just whites the window mainly will be affected. And if I just blacks, the darkest parts of the image will be affected. Like the wool, their bands Right here. So have a look. See how the wall becomes black. And one more very useful thing you can do here is you can increase where decrease your saturation so you can make your video black and white. Or you can make it very vivid. I'm gonna just the saturation so that their skin looks natural. So here's the original skin zone, and I'm gonna make it just a little bit more saturated like that. So 114. And also what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna decrease the shadows just a bit because right now the video is a little bit flat, in my opinion, So I'm gonna decrease it to minus 30 and I'm gonna decrease whites so that nothing is overexposed. And here's the before and after our adjustments, let's move on to the next top Creative. You can scroll through different color presets here and choose the one you like and apply it to your video. If you feel lazy to color, correct yourself. You can also change the intensity of the color precept, make it stronger or decrease its intensity. You can also use your own color preset or another name for color. Preset is lot, which stands for a look up table. So if you click this arrow here, then go to browse, then find the look up table that you found on the Internet or made yourself. You can select it. Click open and it's gonna be a flight to your video. But we're not going to use any color presets for this video, so I'm just going to select none. You can add faded film effects your video to create this vintage look. So what it does, it basically wishes out the shadows off the video. So here's the before and after some people like this. Look, some people don't. I prefer to keep my shadows clean, so I almost never use baited film effect. You can also sharpen your video, but be very careful with sharpening because it can make your video look very unnatural. So here's before. After before. After, I almost never use sharpening because I prefer the natural. Look off my videos. You can make your video more or less vibrant, and again you can increase or decrease your situation. We also have to color wheels here. The first color will is responsible for shadow tent. So if I just drag it down to to the green color, my shadows will become greenish on. For example, if I drag, highlight, tend to orange. My highlights will become orange, so you can create quite interesting looks. If you feel that it's your style again to reset the color wheels, you just have to double click on them. Let's move on to the next step. Let's close creative and open curves. This is a very useful, important and very powerful tap. It may look complicated, but it's actually not. Let's start with RGB Curves, which are responsible for Lumet Channel, which control brightness, Red Channel, Green Channel and Blue Channel. First, I'm going to select Loomer Channel and create three points on the line. The very bottom point is going to be responsible for shadows, so if I drag it down, you will see that the shadows become darker. If I lifted up, you will see that the shadows become brighter. The middle point is responsible for mitt zones, so everything that's between highlights and shadows and the very top point is responsible for highlights. So if I lifted up, you will see that the highlights become brother. You can create as many points on the line as you need. So, for example, I can create one point and play around with it. I can move it to the shadow area so that the shadows are affected more. Or I can move with you the highlight area so that the highlights are affected more. Let's go to the Red Channel and understand how it works again. I'm gonna create three points here in the middle, on the bottom and on the top. The bottom point is going to affect shadows. So if I drag it down, our shadows become greenish. If I lifted up, our shadows become red. If I lift up, that's a point. Our highlights will become red. If I drag it down, the highlights will become green. Same with me. Tones lets reset the curve by double clicking on it. So let's go to the green and blue channels and play around with the curve to create an interesting look. I'm going to create two points here in the shadow area and in the highlights area. Then I'm going to drag down the point in the shadow area and lift up the point in the highlights area. So this is the before after before, after, let's go to the Blue Channel and create a point in the mid Stones area. Then I can live the point up to make the video core or drag it down to make it a bit warmer . I'm gonna drag it down and leave it just like that. So, just like that, you can create this interest in Luke with RG beakers. So let's have a look at the results. So here's the before and after before. After lets reset the RGB curves by double clicking and then we go move on. Here we have Hugh versus Saturation. Kurt, basically, which you can do here is you can increase or decrease the saturation off a certain color. For example, I want to increase the saturation off the guy's blue jacket. So what I need to do is I need to create three points so that the middle point matches the color off the guy's jacket. Now, if I lived the middle point up, you will see that the jacket becomes way more saturated. So here's before, after before, after, or I can decrease it completely before. After. Now, let's suppose that we want to increase the saturation off their faces. Their faces have red color, so let me just find red color here. Create three points 12 on the third point in the middle point should be on color red, and then I can lift it up to increase the saturation off their faces. Or I can reduce it. Premier has an option to sell like the exact color that you need. So Leymarie said, the curve by double clicking. So now I just have to choose this elector to right here and then click anywhere on the guy's jacket and premier will automatically create three points that I can adjust. Leymarie said that on let's move on to the next curve. Here, you can see Hugh versus Hyuk er, which is one of my favorite tools when it comes to color grading, because I can change any color to any color, just like before. I'm going to create three points to change the Blue jackets. Color now is a move. The middle point, the color of the jacket who change. Let's make it in green. So here's the before and after before. After, let's move on to the next curve. Hugh versus Louima. With this curve, you can make any color brighter or darker. So let me just choose this elector to. Then I'm gonna click on the guy's skin and I can make the skin brother or darker. I can do the same with the jacket. Just choose this elector to again. Click on the jacket and I can make a dark or right. Let me reset everything and let's move on to Louima versus saturation curve with bloom A versus saturation curve. You can basically increase or decrease the saturation off the shadows or the highlights on your video. So, for example, if I go to RGB, Curves said like Blue Channel and lift the shadows up so that the shadows become blue like that and then go back to aluminum versus saturation curve. I can create two points here like that and drive the left point down to reduce their saturation off the shadows. So basically, the left side off limit versus saturation curve is responsible for shadows, and the right side is responsible for highlights. So the higher the line goes, the more saturated the highlights will be or the less saturated the highlights will be. Same applies to shadows. So if I lift this point up, you will see that the shadows become more and more blue. Lender. We said that. Then go back and reset the Argie bigger. And let's move on to the lost curve here, saturation versus saturation. Personally, I never used this curve, but you may find it useful, so let me explain you how it works. First, I need to go to basic direction top again and increase the saturation off the video to, for example, 300 make the video, like, really, really saturated. Then go back to curves, find saturation versus saturation curve, and let's see what we can do here. So the left side of the curve is responsible for the parts of the video that are least saturated, and the right part of the curve is responsible for the parts of the video that are most saturated. So if I create two points here, drag this point down and drag the right point up, you will see that on Lee. The most saturated parts remained saturated. Everything else became de saturated. Like I said before, I never used this curve because I just don't find it useful. But anyway, now you know how to work with it. So let's reset everything we've just done. Just double click here, then go to basic corrections up again and set our saturation back to 114. And let's move on to the next top color wheels and match. In this top, you can add color to shadows mid tones and highlights off your video. So, for example, I can make my shadows a little bit core and make the highlights a little bit warmer. So here's before, after which you can also do is you can decrease or increase the brightness off your shadows , your mid zones and your highlights. Lets reset everything by double clicking and let's move on to HS l secondary tap where we're going to create the famous T one orange luke, which is often used in big budget movies, So I'm gonna choose the selector to right here and click on the actor's face event. I need to take this box right here to see our selection. To improve this election. I'm gonna choose the second selector to with a little plus Aiken and improve our selection by adding some more skin tones. After we successfully selected the skin tones, we need to Dean Oise our selection and add some blur. Then let's invert damask. And until this box here we isolated the skin tones, and any changes we're going to make now are not going to affect the skin. Let's click on this three wheel I can hear so that we have control over shadows, midsentence and highlights. I usually don't make any changes to highlights or shadows because I don't like when shadows or highlights have any color. So we're gonna add the teal color to the mid tones only. Let's just drag it towards the seal cover, and now you can see that we've just created That's you and orange look. So here's the before and after before. After you can also change the temperature off everything, get barred from the skin tones, change the tent at or reduce contrast, sharpen and at or reduce saturation. The last step we have in low metric over Bano is been yet you can add some been eating to the corners off your video. I usually never used vignettes ing because I don't think it looks professional. We've created this awesome look and I'm gonna teach you how to apply the same color grade to a different clip so that you don't have to do everything manually again. So all you have to do is select the clip that you just graded. Then go to effect controls select blue metric our and breast control C on your keyboard. Then select the clip that you want to great and press control V to baste the color. Great. So now we have a consistent look across both clips and now I'm gonna show you how to make your life 10 times easier. When it comes to color grading, just go with your project Tap click new item, select adjustment layer, click OK and dragged adjustment layer above your clips and make it longer. Basically, any changes that I'm going to make now to the adjustment layer are going to effect the clips that are underneath the adjustment layer. So I'm going to select it and then, for example, reduced its exposure. And you can see as I changed exposure to the adjustment layer, the video becomes darker. Also, this video became darker as well, because it is located underneath the adjustment layer as well. So this is a very easy and fast wait to color. Great all of your videos. Again. Any changes we make are going to affect the clips that are underneath. If I change the temperature, both groups are going to be affected. If I increase the saturation, both clips are going to be affected as well. Let's add two more clips to our timeline and apply that Zeeland orange look to them. So these are the new clips that we've just added and let's make them to you in Orange. I'm just gonna drag the adjustment layer above the new clips, make it longer, then I'm going to select. That's even orange Look from one of the clips, so select the clip. Go to effect controls, select blue metric, our breast control C on your keyboard, then select the adjustment layer above the new clips and press control V on your keyboard to paste the T one orange look. Boom. Just like that. In a couple of seconds, we can copy a coward. Great. Now I can make minor changes to the individual clips. So if I select the first clip, I can, for example, increase its highlights, increase shadows just a bit and reduce saturation that I can do the same to the second clip . I just need to select the clip. Increase highlights, maybe reduce the shadows here just a bit and reduce saturation. Let's play them back. So here's the before and after before after. So as you can sell an adjustment layer is a very important and useful thing because you can color correct all your videos at once. Now you know everything in both color correcting and color grading in Premiere Pro. So go and apply that knowledge and techniques that I've just shown you to your videos and I'll see you later 15. Audio Basics: Now let's talk about idea. Audio should always sound good, because this is a very important part off a successful video. So let's dive in. All right. You can see a clip on my timeline, which has both video and audio tracks. Let's focus on the idea track for now. Let's have a listen. 23 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. So yeah, this is how it sounds. And now let's go a little bit deeper. You can see that both video and audio have previews. Let me just make the track a little bit bigger so you can see that video has this little preview and audio also has preview. Each audio track has so called way forms, which represent sound. So let me just make it bigger and play the clip again and try to understand how way forms represent what the girl is saying. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, so you can see when she said Hi, There is this way for which looks like a mountain. Have a look. Hi, Then, after she says hi, Hi varies a little boss, which is representing here. And because of the boss, there is like a moment of silence. That's why you can see idea waves right here. And then she started speaking again. And you can see audio waves again. My name is Valerie. My name is Valerie than a little balls again. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. And so let me add one more sound. So But you understand it better. So here is the sound. I'm just gonna drag it to the timeline, have a listen and look at the audio waves at the way forms. So you can hear four drumbeats which are represented here. So this is the 1st 1 you can see a very big way for this is the 2nd 1 the third and the fourth. All right. Now you should understand how the wave forms work. Let's move on. On the right side here, you can see Audrey meter window, which shows you how loud your audio is. So let's play the video and have a look here by attention. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. What? You should know that your audio meter should never go above zero. So you can see here. Zero minus six, minus wealth minus 18 and sewn. Right now our audio is at about minus six minus 12. So I'm gonna play it again and have a look at the idea meter and pay attention. And how loud our sound iss Hi, My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. So in average, it was at about minus 12 which is good. Off course, you can make your audio louder or quieter. So if you have a look at the idea truck, you can see that there is a line on your audio. So if you click on it and hold it and then drag it down or up, you can see that you can decrease your audio or increase your audio level. So let me increase my idea level to about seven. And let's play it again and have a look here. Hi, My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. So now you can see and hear that our audio became louder. So right now it is at about minus six instead of minus 12 like it was before. Have a look. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, and we can also make it very quiet. So I'm gonna drag this line down. So about minus 14 and let's play it again. Type. My name is Valerie. I'm 22 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. So right now our audio was at about minus 24 minus 30. Let's bring him back to zero. So I'm just gonna drag the line up. Andi, if you want some more precision, you can press and hold control. And then it will be easier to find zero just like that. There is also another way how to decrease or increase your audio level. So just right. Click on your audio and select audio gain. Here you can see peak amplitude, which is minus 9.7, which is the loudest your video gets. And the perfect loudness for people's voice is somewhere around minus three or minus six. So let's adjust gained by seven and click OK, and also pay attention at our way forms. See how they change when I click. OK, you can see that the way forms increased because we increase our audio track by seven Disability. And let's play it again. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. Hi. My name is Valerie. So right now you can see that our audio is somewhere around minus six visible, which is perfect. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 23. Keep in mind that it is very important that your sound doesn't go above zero. Let me show you what happens when it goes above zero. So I'm just gonna drag the line up to increase the audio by six decibel more and let's blade. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 20. You can see red lines here, which tell us that something is wrong, that our audio is way too loud. So let's bring it back to zero. I'm just gonna drag the line down. And for more precision. I'm gonna press and hold control. And now let's learn how it will work with music and voice at the same time. So let me make the tracks and little bit smaller. I'm gonna move this up. And this is our song. I'm just gonna select around 10 seconds mark out and I'm gonna drug the music track to our timeline two audio track number two 11 Delayed this sound. And let's have a listen to the voice and music at the same time as you can sell. It is very hard to hear what the girl is saying. So we need to make the music a little bit quieter. So let's do it. I'm gonna make the audio track number two a little bit bigger and I'm going to drag the line. You're about minus 16 and let's have a listen again. Hi. My name is Valerie on 23 years old and even Riga, Latvia. All right, now it is better, but I still feel like we can decrees the loudness of the song. So you're, like, minus 20. Let's have a listen again. Hi. My name is Valerie on 23 years old, and I live in Riga, Latvia. Now it is easy to hear what the girl is saying and also we're gonna hear the background music. Now I'm gonna add some more clips to the timeline and show you one more thing. So I'm gonna go to the bin folder, go to Eclipse and, for example, a drag this file right here. I'm going to make it a bit shorter. Drag this file going to make it shorter as well. These two clips don't have anyway forms. This is because these two clips don't have any sound. Now, let's have a listen to what we have now. Hi. My name is Valerie Had 23 years old and leaving the song. Sounds okay with the voice. But I want the song to be louder when the girl isn't speaking. Because, as you can see, when I play the video, the song loudness is at about minus 18. So I need to increase the loudness of the song before the girl starts speaking. So this is our song. Let me just increase the idea truck and we need to create key frames. So I'm gonna press and hold control on my keyboard and then create a new key frame by clicking my mouse. And I'm gonna create one more key frame somewhere right here. So again, I'm gonna press and hold control and click my mouse to create one more key frame Now we have to keep frames in between the clips. So if you draw a line right here, we will have to keep frames between them. So let's move the left key frame up to increase the songs. Loudness. I'm gonna move it up to about minus one, and let's see what we have now. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 23 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. As you can hear now, we have a smooth transition from loud, too quiet music. I feel like I want to make the music a little bit quieter when the girl is speaking. So I can just drive the line or the key frame and bid lower to minus 21. And I can also move the key frame to the left so the music becomes quiet before the girl starts speaking. Let's have a listen. Hi, My name is Valerie. I'm 23 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. Very good. Now it sounds perfect. Let me create two more key frames at the very beginning so that the music goes from complete silence and then goes louder. So I'm gonna press and hold control and creates a key frames. And then I'm gonna move the very first key frame, the left key frame down. So a ghost to minus infinity. And now let's have a listen to what we have. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 23 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. As you can hear now we have the music going from the complete silence to normal volume. And now I'm going to give you some useful tips from me. If you don't want to hear one of the audio tracks, you convert it just by clicking this m I can hear. So right now I muted the audio track number one, and now we're only going to hear the music. So we are going to hear the voice, and and we can do the same with song. So let me mute idea. Track number two and a Knute idea. Truck number one. Hi, My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old, and if you have more than two audio tracks, you can solo an audio track. Let me show you what I mean. So I'm gonna go to the project window, and I'm going to find my audio folder and I'm gonna drug the drum beats audio track number three. And I'm gonna put the drumbeats under the girl's voice. So now we have three tracks. 123 which are playing at the same time. Let's have a listen. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 23 years old. And let's pretend that we only want to hear the drum beats. So instead of muting two tracks audio track number one and audio track number two instead of this weekend a new them and just so low idea Track number three Wish will mute the audio truck number one and two automatically. 16. Editing to the Beat: Another tip for me is very important to make your videos look professional when it comes to working with music. So let me first in the lead the drumbeats and let me explain you what I mean. What I'm about to show you is called editing to the beat. This means that every new clip should start with the beat in your song. So let's have a listen to our song and find the beats So now we will have to look at the way forms. Let me delete the very first key frame right here so that our music doesn't start with sounds. So I select the key frame and press delete on my keyboard And now listen carefully to the music. Pay attention at the beats and look at the way for us. Hi. One more time to help you find the beats. I'm gonna put marks on the song every time I hear a clear beat. So let's start as you can see by pressing M on my keyboard, I've added three marks to our song. So now I want you to have a look at the way forms to visually see the beats in the song. let me just zoom in. So this is the first mark that we have on our song, and you can see that there is a very clear beat. Now let's move on. This is the second mark right here and you can see the second beat. So the way form goes down and then straight up, which means that there is a beat. And here's the third beat right here again. The way for him goes down and here we can see the beat. Let's play it again and look at the way forms and listen to the beads. So now I'm gonna trim the clips so that they match the beats. So I'm gonna trim it right here. I'm gonna trim this one right here, and I'm gonna add one more clip and I'm gonna make it just a bit longer so that it matches the beat and I'm gonna move the clip with the voice so that it starts at the third mark at the third beat. And now I also need to move the key frames just like that. And now let's see what we have. Hi. My name is Valerie. One more time. Hi. My name Now you can see that every new clip starts with a beat which looks very professional and dynamic. And here's an example off my original video where every new cut is made to the beat. Listen carefully to the music. Pay attention to the beats. And look how every single cut matches the beat. Yeah, I'm ready to play now for me in the game now. I came in to prove it. I'm ready to do it. I can't be afraid now will be on the stage now. I'm ready to reach now. I feel like an animal stuck in the kitchen. I'm ready to break out. My, my, You people could tell me to stop this time like the last time. You better get ready. Arrested way with step on the field. It's time to get real smooth. 17. Audio Effects and Voice Adjustments: So first I'm going to show you how to apply different audio effects to your audio. Just go to Project window, go to effect step. And here you will find audio effects. Click on the arrow. What? You expand it. And here you will find a list of different effects. For example, I can choose the delay effect, and I just need to drag it and drop it on my audio. Then in the source window, go to effect controls scroll down and here under audio, you will find that the effect was added. I'm gonna change the delay from one second to 0.1. And let's have a listen to what we have now. Hi, my name is and this is before. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old, and I'll even really so as you can hear now, we've added the delay effect. Let's add one more effect. For example, notch filter or bid shifter leads at its shifter, so I'm just gonna drag it and drop it to my audio. And as you can see here, the effect was added. Let's click on edit and let's select, for example, the first breeze. It and let's have a listen. Let's turn off the Dele. I'm just going to click on this F Peaks icon right here to disable the effect. Oh, over. And now we have this funny voice. We can changes to the dark, lower preset to change the effect so you can go through the list of different audio effects , drag them to your audio and find the effects that you like and that you find useful. And now I'm gonna show you what I do with people voices so that they sound better than the original recording first of gonna delete all the effects that I added. So I'm gonna delete the bit shifter, and I'm gonna delete DeLay effect. And now, on the very top, I should choose idea workspace. If you don't see it, just click on this arrow here and it will expand, and I'm gonna just audio. Now you can see that the layout has changed so that it's easier for us to work with audio. And here on the right, you can see different options, dialog, music, SFX and ambience. The only thing that majority of people use is dialogue, so we're only going to focus on this one. Let's open this up. And here you can find a list of things that you can do with your audio. You have an option to reduce noise on your audio. For example, if it was very windy outside or if there were a lot off my grown sounds So you just have to take this box right here, reduce noise and always remember that you don't want to go above two. So just remember that the maximum number here should be to or 2.5. If you go above this number, the idea will start to sound very bad. So never go about two or 2.5. You can also get rid of sounds like when people say, for example, the word say has a very clear s sound so you can choose to ds these sounds. So just take this box. And again, you should never put a number above two. So just change this numbers here and then have a listen what you've done. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old And let's have a listen. How it sounded before we reduced noise. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old, and this is with noise reduction. Who's Valerie? I'm 24 years old and leaving. As you can hear. The idea is not so clear anymore. That's why I told you to never go above two or 2.5. So in my case, 0.5 is going to be more than enough because my audio is not very noisy, so I don't need to apply heavy noise reduction. You also have an option to reduce reverb, and reverb is basically echo. So, for example, if you were recording your sound in a very echoey room, you can reduce the echo by taking this box right here and then putting number one or number two. But again, never go above two. This is the rule of thumb. You can add dynamics to your audio, reduce the number of about one so that it sounds self explanatory, more dynamic. I know his Valerie. I'm 24 years old and it before and even Riga, Latvia. Let's bring it to about two. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, and you also have different kind of presets here. Like old radio sound. My name is Valerie. I'm 20 or for example, on the telephone. Three years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, and so on. So you can just choose any of the presets here if you want to experiment and see how it sounds and you can also find creative process here. So let's select this box and let's choose for example, auditorium. Now, let's have a listen. I'm 20 years old, So again, like I said, you can just choose different presets and play with them and see what you're like. Oh, the effects that we applied here in this window can be found. If you go to the source window and find effect controls, select your audio scroll down and you will find all the effects here as well. D noise d reverb dynamics, graphic equaliser di essere and so on. If you decide that you want to delete all the audio effect that you applied here, you can just select your audio and here on the right, you can click on clear audio type and all the audio effects will be deleted. To be honest, I never used the essential sound panel, so I never use dialogue. I never use music. And so because I have my own way off working with voice so that it sounds better and I'm going to show it to you right now. So first you need to go to the source window. And here you need to find audio track mixer. If you don't see it, just click on these two arrows here and go to audio track mixer. So when you open audio track mixer, you should see something like this. If you don't see what I see right now, just click on this arrow here to expand the window. And right here you can see a different kind of sections which represent audio tracks. Let me just make this window bigger so you can see that. For example, this section here represents idea track number one. This section represents audio track number two, number three, number four, and this section represents all of them. We're going to focus on this section here, the very first section for audio truck number one. So all the effects that we're going to apply right here, for example, dynamics processing all the effects are going to be applied to audio track number one. So you have to make sure that there is nothing but the voice. If you have any sounds or any song on audio track number one, make sure to move it to order. Track number two three and so on. Basically, just make sure that there is only voice recordings on audio truck number one. And I'm gonna show you a list off, in fact, that I apply to the audio track so that the voice sounds good. So just go to audio track mixer, find the section that represents audio track number one. It is the very first section, and make sure that your audio clip is also on audio track number one. You will find small arrows here, so let's click on the very 1st 1 Go to amplitude and compression and let's choose Motive Band compressor. Then let's right. Click on it and less use the preset broadcast. You can also right click on it than click edges, and here in the list off process. You can also find the broadcast preset. Let's have a listen to what this affect does. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. And this is before Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, again before and somewhere in the middle I'm gonna turn known that multiple and compressor . Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. As you can hear, the voice became more dynamic. It became more compressed, and it also sounds as if it's closer to your ears. Now, the second effect that I always apply is hard limiter. So let's click on the second arrow right here. Go to amplitude and compression and let's use hard limiter. Then let's right. Click and choose limit to minus three. You remember we spoke about how loud your audio should be. So in this window, I told you that the perfect volume for your voice is somewhere between minus three and minus six. So now what we did is we increased the volume two minus three, and we also made sure that it will never go above minus three, so it will never reach zero or go above. You can also limit your audio. Gia minus six, for example. Let's see how it looks. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 23 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. As you can hear it is now at minus six. Mark, if I make it, for example, minus one. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old, and they'll even rig is going to be very close to zero, but it will never go above it. I prefer to keep the volume at minus three. Since we increased the loudness of the clip, we also increased the background noise. So let's reduce it. Now let's click on the third arrow, go to noise reduction and click on the noise. And here you have to reduce the percentage to about five or 10. Let's make it seven or six and let's have a listen. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. Perfect. If you feel like you need to the noise your audio a bit more, you could increase the percentage just to about 20. But I'm going to keep it to about six. And the next effect I'm going to employ is automatic click remover. So just go to noise reduction. Restoration and click on automatic. Click a remover. Right click here and shoes. Light reduction. This effect will clear up your audio. And it will also get rid off older, unnecessary sounds. So let's have a look at the final result. Let's have a listen. Hi, my name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, And let's have a listen how it sounded before. So I'm just gonna move the audio to audio track number two because there are no effects applied. Teoh Audio Track number two. As you can see, it's empty here, so I'm gonna move into audio track number two and have a listen how it sounded before. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and now, after Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, one more time before. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 20 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. I think the result is amazing. Let's have a listen again. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 24 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia, and one more time before. Hi. My name is Valerie. I'm 23 years old and I live in Riga, Latvia. So now you know everything about working with audio in Premiere Pro Go and try all the techniques that I've shown you in this part, and I'll see you later. 18. Cinematic Look for Your Videos: today, we're gonna learn how to certain video that looks like this into this. Let's dive into the secrets off how you can achieve so called cinematic effect for your videos. First, we need to understand what the cinematic video means because there are different aspects when it comes to cinematic image lighting, camera settings, movement and goes composition. And so, But today we're going to focus on something special anamorphic lenses and how to fake them in Premiere Pro to make your videos look like real movies. Before we start, let me explain you what an anamorphic lens is and what side effects it has. Basically, all you need to know about anamorphic lenses is that they're often used when filming movies to create a very special look, and the more Finland's is compressed video horizontally. And then you need to squeeze the video in post to make it look normal again. That's why videos shot on anamorphic lenses have a wider aspect ratio instead of a traditional 16 by nine. And the more for glances also caused a very interesting distortion. If you look at this image here, you can see that the wall here is not straight it's a little bit curved. Same thing The wolves are curved here. The building is curved. These lines are supposed to be straight in real life, but they're not creating this three d effect. So here the window frame is curved and so you can see that the images not only curved to decides right here, it also applies to the top and bottom. So, yeah, here you can see a very clear example of the distortion. Everything is curved. This is just a screenshot from Eminem's music video. Not afraid, and you can see that the edge of the building gets curved. The buildings here are curved. Same here, another side of fact that anamorphic lenses create is chromatic aberrations. So if I zoom in here, you can see that between the bright part of the image and the dark port, there is like a little red line right here. You see, same applies here like little red line here and also blue line here. Someone's have very strong chromatic aberrations. Someone's have very self, A chromatic aberrations. Now that you know how everything works. In theory, let's go to Premiere Pro and do some real magic there All right, Let's get started. We're going to try and recreate in this image here, and this is a perfect example of using anamorphic lenses to create so cold cinematic effect . So let's choose a clip we're gonna work with, for example, this one. And I'm just gonna drag it to my timeline like this. And as you can see, this is just a shot off a girl walking straight. And this shot does not look cinematic. It's all so we're gonna try and fix that. So the first thing I want to do is I want to fix the white balance because, as you can see, it's a little bit off because our images yellow. So let's go to a color tab here on top. Click here and here's a little tip from me. If you choose this tool right here and then you click on something great or white, the white balance is going to be fixed automatically. So I know that this world was great. So I'm just gonna click here and boom Premier did its job automatically. And as you can see, this is the before and after. So right now we have the image that looks normal and it looks balanced. Next, I'm going to stabilize my footage because, as you can see, it's a little bit shaky, and I wanted to be a little bit smoother, but first I need to select the best moment that I want to use. So, for example, from here I get rid of the rest to, like, here and again, I'm going to get rid of the rest of the clip. So right now we have about five seconds of clip. I'm just gonna drag it to the very beginning of our timeline. And now I'm gonna go to effect step right here and type work. Andi, here is our warp stabilizer. I'm just gonna drag it and drop it to my clip. Then I go to effect controls and we can see that our clip is being analyzed now and then is going to be stabilized. Our footage is not very shaky, so I don't need it to be stabilized heavily. So instead of 50% of civilization, I'm just gonna change it to, like, 15%. This is going to be enough. If you're shot is very shaky. For example, it was handheld while you were running then you want to play with this percentage and maybe ah, make it. I don't know, 50% 60%. But for now, 15% is going to be fine from your finish stabilizing our clip and let's see how it looks. Now everything is smooth and let's have a look and how it was before. I'm gonna turn off all of the effects and you can see that it's yellow on shaky. So we're doing a good job so far. Let's move on to creating our anamorphic look. So let's go to our been on select new item here and adjustment layer. Click OK and dragged the adjustment layer and buff our clip. Make it a little bit longer. Like that on an adjustment layer is basically a layer that you can apply some effects to, and everything that's below the adjustment layer will be affected. So, for example, if I change the color off our adjustment layer, I will make its a bit more green. For example, our clip is going to be affected as well and what's cool in that? I can add one more clip below our adjustment layer, and it will be affected as well So if I need hundreds of clips to be green, I don't need to go through each of them and make them green. Aiken, just at adjustment layer on top and everything is going to be affected so you can see that the adjustment layer finishes right hair, and as soon as we pass it, everything goes back to normal. Okay, let's delete our green tint. And let's delete this clip for now and get back to our original clip. One more thing that will help us make our footage look cinematic as color. Look up tables or lots. A lot is basically a color precept that you can apply to your footage. Especially for you. I've created three lots, which you can download and use them for free to make your footage look amazing and cinematic. So let's elect our adjustment layer because from now on work and I apply our effects and color grading to the adjustment layer. Then go to creative right here and we're gonna apply one of the lutz that I've created for you. Then click here, browse and choose one of the lots right here, for example, this one and straight away. You can see that our image changed dramatically, and now it looks away better. Just have a look, and this is how it looked before and after and as we applied our lot to the adjustment later again, everything that will be below our adjustment layer will be affected. So, for example, this clip here it's effective straight away. So let me turn off the adjustment layer and turn it back on. We can see that the look up table is applied to it as well, because again it stands below. Let's delayed it for now and now let's do some real magic and recreate this look right here because right now is you can see our image looks better then it used to, but it's still not the same. It's not what we want. So usually, when people want to recreate the cinematic look, they just put black bars on top and bottom off their video. There are two ways how to do it. The first way is to change the actual aspect ratio off your sequence, so let's go to sequence sequin settings. Andi, if you shoot four hz, you should put 19 to 0 here. Andi 816 here. In my case, I should and four K. That's why I have to put here 3840 1632 Press OK? And OK, one more time. And now we can see that the aspect ratio off our image has changed. And straight away our video looks away more cinematic. And now I'm going to show you the second way how to add the famous black bars at the top and bottom of your video. So first, let's undo what we've done. I pressed controls that and now we're back to normal aspect ratio. Then let's select our adjustment layer. Go to effects on let's type crop here, drag the crop effect our adjustment layer. And now we can see that we have our crop effect here in effect controls. So what we want to do is we want to own type 12% of the top right here and 12% of the bottom. And now, as you can see, we have the same thing. We have the so called cinematic aspect ratio. Like I said before, one of the side effects off using anamorphic lenses is chromatic aberrations. Let me just add our reference picture here. Right click on set to frame size. So just the reminder. Chromatic aberrations is this red color hair. You can usually see it at the very contrast in parts of the image. So this is dark. This is bright. And in between you can see the the chromatic aberration. Same thing here, red color and some some blue color. Here again, contrast support of the image and we can see the side effect. So we want to regret in here. So let's elect our adjustment layer, go to effects and type the are crumb chromatic aberrations. So if you just type here, you're going to see and drag it to our adjustment layer. And now what we have is this This is not what we need. So we're gonna fix that go to effect controls and you can see that here we have our VR chromatic aberrations here and less drag it on top off our crop effect. This is very important. So now let's change some of the specs here. So first, what we want to do is we want to take this box here full off, invert Now it got better, but it's just strong several. Let's change their red aberration to minus one and blue aberration to one, So it's not really visible. But if I zoom it in just like that and I find a contrast, it board here, Yeah, here we can clearly see the difference. So this is without this is with. So look here, the red color, and here we can see the blue color here, red color again. So off on off on. It's not easy to see this little effect, but it's very important for your brain, because when your brain season image, it reads it as something cinematic, and this little details are very important. The next step is very important when it comes to the anamorphic Look like explained you before when they use anamorphic lenses in cinema. The anamorphic lenses create this around a defect, so no lines are straight. So is it. Can see here, here, here. So the wall is not straight. It's a little bit round. It has some curve, same here, and this is a very good example because we can see and grit here on the wall, and we can clearly see that the lines are curved. So this supposed to be a horizontal line and it goes like this. Same goes to vertical line. It's not straight, it's curved. So let's try and recreate this. So I have a picture of a great right here for you. I'm just gonna drag it to my timeline, make it full screen, and I'm using a picture of a grid so that it's easier for you to see the difference off our next effect. So let's go to effects and type lens distortion, and we can basically pick any of the suggested effects, lets you speak the 1st 1 and drag it to our adjustment layer, then go to effect controls. And now we have to put our lens distortion effect and buff crop. So basically, crop effect always has to be at the very bottom off off our effects. And now let's change some settings off our less distortion effect. So let's change the first setting curvature to let's a nine and make sure that everything else is set to zero. Now we're going to see that our grip is not straight anymore. It has this curve right here, so the her zones a line is rounded and vertical lines around it as well, and this is what we needed to recreate anamorphic effect. But we have one problem here. As you can see, there is white color and the sides off our video on Let's fix that. So let's go. Gee, effects, type, transform and drag transform effect to our adjustment layer. Then again, we have to make sure that our transform effect is above crop effect. And then let's select scale and type 109 here now, wisdom then and we don't see the white color anymore. So right now we can clearly see the difference. We have the curvature that we need. And if we look at our original video now, we can finally see that we have the rounded edges. So, for example, have a look at this wall here. It's not straight line anymore is rounded. Same goes to to the floor. Look here. This horizontal line that's supposed to be straight is rounded. Same applies to the ceiling and to the to the whole image in general. So this is the before any off hour effects and after look at this huge difference in our image and oldest literal effects working together create this cinematic feeling. So now let's compare our referenced shot here with Eminem standing on the roof so we can see that the edge of the building is curved. The buildings here are curved on. We also see that there are some chromatic aberrations here, right? The same applies to our image. We have everything the same. Here. We have oldest details in place that create the cinematic effect again. Great color correction, chromatic aberration and the curved Pagis of the image and the best part about using adjustment layer. Like I said before now, when we put any clips below our adjustment layer, for example, I don't know let's big this one. Let's go to basic correction first, Andi, where he's used the highlights just a bit. And now look at the and the image. Here we have everything applied here straightaway, the curve, doting the curve pool, nice color correction and chromatic aberrations as well. So So he fights them in. You can see here, for example, looking at this poll that we have chromatic aberrations, see everywhere. So this little effects again great, the cinematic feeling. So just like that, in a couple of minutes, you can create a cinematic effect and apply it to all of your images to completely change the look and improve dramatically. So just one more time. So here is the before not cinematic a toll. And here is after before, after and our original shot. This is before after on day, one more tip for you Just save even more time is to select adjustment layer, hold control and select each of our effects. Then right, click, save preset and name it for example anamorphic click. OK, and now let's delete off our effects. Delete. So now we have our original image here. And if you go to effects, go to presets. You can see our anamorphic preset here. Just drag it to adjustment layer and you're done just like that. In one second, you can create your cinematic image. Now you know how to make any video look like a movie. So now it's time for you to go and do everything yourself. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you soon 19. Export Settings and Conclusion: When you finish editing your video, you need to export it. So let me show you how to do it. So this hour short edit that we've done let's have a look. Great. Now let's expert our edit so that it becomes a real videophile. So what you need to do is you need to go to the very beginning off your video and press I on your keyboard, then go to the very end of the video and breast. Oh, and now you can see that we have a selection here which sells Premiere, that we want to expert our video from this point to this point. So anything the ghosts further will not be included in our final video. So, for example, I have a file right here. This file will not be included in our video because it is not in our selection. If you want to get rid of this election just right, click anywhere on it and then select clear in and out. So there is no selection now, so I'm gonna do it again. Go to the very beginning breast I on my keyboard for in point. Then I'm going to go to the very end and press. Oh, for the out point, and now you can see that we have this election again, and now it's time to expert the video. So let's go to file, select, expert and click on Media, and you Window will pop up here. You're going to find a lot of different settings, but I'm only going to show you the ones that you will need. So first, let's go to format, and here you will see a lot of different formats like H 264 Quick time Jay back and back to and so on. But the one that is used most open is H 264 So let's choose this one. Now let's go to presets. So let's expand the preset list and you will see a list off different presets here by default. You always have my source high betrayed. This means that the resolution, the frame rate and so on will be the same as your sequence settings, and it will be rendered in high bit rate, so the quality will be quite good. There isn't going to be a lot of compression if you want your video size to be a little bit smaller. You can choose media and betrayed. For example, on the very bottom, you can see your estimated file size. So if I change the preset from medium to high, the estimated file sizes now eight megabytes instead of two. So this is just for your information so that you know your estimated final file size. Let's go back to presets. Let's expend this window right here, and the priest said that I used most often is YouTube 10 80 p full agency. You can also see presets like Facebook 10 80 p four agency Twitter. It's an 80 p full HD, but you need to know that they are all more or less the same. So, like I said before, the one I used most often is YouTube. It's an 80 p for agency or if I want to export my videos in four K. If my source files were shot and for gay, I will choose YouTube 2164 k ultra agency. But for now, since my shots are full agency, I'm gonna choose YouTube 10 80 p forages e. And the last thing you need to pay attention here is output name, so click on this name right here. And this is where you choose the destination for your file. So in my case, it is going to be desktop. Then I'm gonna choose editing lesson folder, Go with your renders and I will safe my video right here. I'm gonna name it video editing Lesson one and click safe. And now I can click on Export and my video will be exported. So if I go to desktop, then I choose editing lesson folder and then renders because this is where I saved my file . I will find my video right here, and I can play it now. Now you know everything about video editing in Premiere Pro. Congratulations. You did it. Don't forget to experiment. Always try something. You and keep making these amazing videos. I hope you enjoy this lesson. Thank you very much. And I'll see you later. Bye.
