About This Class

HDRi is not just for lighting, it's much more!

It's simple I decided to make a commercial level scene and animation, so here we are, a class designed for intermediate-to-advanced Blender users. In this course, you’ll master the art of crafting photorealistic and cinematic renders by leveraging HDRi lighting to its fullest potential.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Set up and optimize HDRi lighting for hyper-realistic environments.
  • Create cinematic compositions that draw the eye and tell a story.
  • Apply advanced shader and texturing techniques to enhance every detail.
  • Perfect your renders with a streamlined, professional workflow.

What you need?

  • Blender
  • The course file available to download
  • Mercedes Benz 3d model (free in this course)

You want something better?

The complete workflow to turn the normal commercial sequence into cinematic masterpiece in the next course!

1. Teaser Unlocking: This is not how you use NHRI. We need the ground to look above enter quality. This will be included in the course files. In the next course, you will make it cinematic. 2. Course 2 Scene Lighting: I will start by making the garage scene. Create a UV sphere and make it subdivided and bigger. Delete the bottom half, select the bottom ring and click F to close it. Bring it down to the floor of the car. Go ahead and create a shader. Add an environment texture and Control T to add mapping. We will use object mapping. Load our HRI here. You can see the scene is black now. Now go to our AzureI sphere and disable shadows in visibility. To fix it, go toward ChadrTab load our azureI there also. Now if you rotate the texture, you will see that the AgRI is not moving. To make it easier for us, go to the shader and copy Z in rotation as a driver. Paste it in the word shader tab so we can drive both values at the same time from here. The texture is not looking good here, so we'll change to Z location to make it fit our scene. I think it's too big now, so set it to near minus six centimeter. Rotate it to fight the perfect dw. Now. 3. Course 3 HDRi into a mesh scene: Let's make our scene into real Blender three D. A better view, separate the bottom part and hide the top one. Add a plane on the floor, go to the top view, and let's start building it. I will first make the big walls. Now, extrude it upwards and start fitting the walls into the texture as I do. Now we can make the shape, select one of them, and make the ticxture of the wall fit in our geometry lines. Separate the top lines and bridges to the top ceiling. Do I say him on the front and back. Now we have our scene. We can fix an issue as the fund it. Now, exo back and delete the front face. Reena it to ajoy and 4. Course 4 Setting up the camera and garage: In this lecture, we make the camera. For this project, I will use a 50 millimeter lens on a 70 millimeter sensor, much like the IMAX pick film. Any golden race you guys, this composite was seen. A for this scene, I want to make the garage like empty. I'll ignore some of the details as I will fix them and post. I would do the same on all sides. 5. Course 5 Fix the camera and prespective: I want to make things better here. Skin up rotated. The background isn't good enough. Let's rotate our ometry to change. For me, I want a shallow to field in this scene. So let's set the F stop to 0.6. A 6. Course 6 Next level lighting: I rotate the I rotate the scene a bit. Now I will make lighting enhancement. Add the collection. Add a new light. You can see that it's affecting all the scene. I want to link it only to our car. Create a light linking group and add the car to it. I I don't want this reflection on our glass. I was separated from the car. I want to add some details to stay here. Now I want to block some reflections and wrap up this lecture. 7. Course 7 Details: I will make final adjustments before moving on. Send the call or management to GX. I will add some details I JR shader. Amazing trick here is to lower the spa spell An amazing trick here is to lower the specular out, which makes it seem better looking in this case. I have a small bump. Just all lights in a bit. 8. Course 8 Bring it to life: I'll make the ground more realistic here using displacement. Make sure to enable displacement in the settings of the material. And add the color ramp, then the spice node. This is bad. Change the mid level and scale it to look good to make it real. Add the subdivision modifier to advert disease. The more disease, the more details. I 9. Course 9 Render and animation settings: Set the samples to 60. Good enough for an animation. Set the total bounces so it does not affect the scene quality. Labor motion blur. Use certain data to avoid reloading the data on each frame in an animation. Set the Fs to 60 fs. I'll make a slight animation for the camera. Press T to make the easing linear. Don't forget to set the directory. Set the name at hash tag for the number of frames. Om seen 10 seconds, so I will just the frame count. We are ready to render.
