1. Promotion: Hello to all dear students who intend to learn
the art of leather crafting in a simple and at the same time complete
and professional way. In this course, we will mention all the points
you need to craft a bag. And we will teach
you everything, including drawing a pattern, cutting leather, attaching foam to letter to make the back thicker
and stronger. Attaching lining fabric. Suing the back
pocket for the bag. Sewing the pocket
inside the bag, swaying the zipper
for the pockets, attaching the magnetic buttons, suing around a bag. Crafting distress, and use
of beggars strap adjuster. This course will
help you to become a professional leather crafter in the most complete
and simplest way. You don't need to have any
background or knowledge. Just if you're interested in
the art of leather crafting. Don't waste time and start
this training as soon as possible because I teach all
the tips right from scratch. So join me in this course.
2. 1. Course introduction: Hello to all of my dear
students and friends. I hope you're well and okay. In this course we are
going to learn how we can craft this
beautiful leather bag. It has one inner pocket that you can use for
your cell phone. We have a magnetic
bottom like this. It has another outer pocket. You can adjust. It's a strap that you can
easily adjust it with your desire to be with us so they can
learn how to create this beautiful leather bag.
3. 2. Introduction of the required tools: Hello everyone. In this
episode I'm going to tell you about the tools that you
need to craft this back. This is a cutter for
cutting our leather easier. And these are scissors, as you know, e.g. for parts which
are croissants or curved or even in
circular shapes, it's easier to do with scissors, but the straight parts are, the simpler parts are better
to be done by cutter. This is Iran glue, which is used for sticking
and gluing the leather. We have waxed thread, which is used to suing. And you should choose the color similar to your leathers color. We need paperclips in
order to place them on the edges of our bag
after gluing them so it wouldn't move until
it would be dried. So they would be the two layers of the leather would be
fixed on top of each other. And without moving or sliding
on top of each other, we would actually
be sewing them. And after gluing,
we need to place these clips on them
for 10 min or 15. And in this time, during this time, again, I say it's better that we use these clips in
order to fix them. Then after that, we start suing. This is an example of a
bag that I showed to. You see, this is this trap. And for that first, we need to make holes in
them before we sue them. We can do this two ways. You can do it manually with leather hole punch and they
are all numbers. I have 05.2. We use these leather
hole punches for making holes
into my leather. And then later I
can start suing. So this would be actually
the surface that I want to make my holes on top of it
so I place my letter on it. And based on the
size of my whole, I choose my leather
hole punch, e.g. these two are for the time that I want
the hole to be bigger. E.g. I've chosen that. This is a leather hammer
or a letter malate, which one you're more
comfortable with? I'm going to say leather. However, I'm going to place
my leather hole punch there. I'm going to place it fixed
in order not to move that. And then I use my hammer on it. So I will create a hole
inside of my leather. And because I want
these holes to be right next to each other
and very organized. I will place this on my
leather and as you can see, the space between the holes are getting wider
and wider, e.g. at the beginning the
space is so little for the times that we want
are suing to be a little. And then at the right
side you can see this space have increased
and obviously are suing has been increased
to this is actually a gelatin pen and
it's being used for signing on the leather or in
placing signs on the letter. So I'm just going to show you
how I'm going to do this, how I'm going to make
spots and signs. E.g. I want to use this row. So I'm using my
Gillette and pen. I'm going to create
points over here. And I'd be sure that
distance between the holes and punches would
be all equal and the same. If you want to do it
manually without this tool, you might be mistaken. You might just make more
distance or less distance. But if you use this tool, be sure that all the
distances would be equal and the same after I've
done my measurements. I get my leather hole punch
and my leather hammer. I place my hole punch here
exactly on the point. I put my hammer over
it once or twice. I hit it with my hammer. After the holes and the
punches were created, it's ready for suing. For that. We need a
needle. Obviously. These are the noodles which
are specialized for leather. So with wax thread and
it's a special needle, I'll start my suing on the holes and punches
that I've created. So we've got acquainted
with these tools to, if I don't want to create these punches manually and I
want to make my work easier. I'm going to use this, this tool is named punch. So I actually have these leather hole punches
over here in different sizes. And I can change them. So I can turn it and change
it just as easy as that. E.g. I want to make
calls with this one. I choose the part that I
want to make, a hole, e.g. this area that I've marked. And then one-by-one, I would place this exactly on
the points and signs. And then if I push it
and press it strongly, I will easily have my
punches and holes mate. I'm not actually putting
much pressure over here. I'm just showing
it to you because I don't want to make holes. But I'm going to chew. Obviously this is an easier way. It, It's actually more quiet
comparing to the other one. And this bag that
I've shown you is actually as an example. And we're not going to do this. I've just showed
it to you in order to introduce some tools to, for closing our hand back, we need magnetic buttons for attaching the bags
strapped to the bag. We need to D rings. I need to over here, these things which
are called rivets. We use rivets to attach a
leather parts to each other. You should provide about
20 long and short rebuts. And then later I'm
going to teach you about how you how
you can use it. Okay. I'll going to show
it to you during the work. Okay. Obviously, we need
a zipper for our bag. I have provided some if for my bags, a strap. I want to create
something as an adjuster. You can provide these from shops and use it
on your bags is trap. For the time that you want
to change the size and the length of your bag
strap if you don't want it. Well, it's okay. You can just determine the length of your bag
is trap as much as you want from the
beginning and it would be a stable I would
then be unchangeable. If you wanted to do any decorations on
your bag like this. Well, e.g. this
looks like a cat. You can place it in front of your back or on the back of it. And if you want it to be simple, well, you won't be needing them. Obviously, you need rulers. For the times that
you're using cutters. You place it on your leather. As I said before, we use cutter for the
parts which we have straight lines to cut. And because we want
to cut it a straight, we need a ruler so we place it on the part that
we want to cut. I'll be holding is strongly
and then I apply my cut that our bag would
be created and ready for this edge of the bag, we need a color. You can also provide this
leather color in leather shops. And at last time you've finished
your bag and it's ready, you will be applied on the edges of your leather because it would be a little bit lighter comparing to the
rest of the leather. It's like inside of it. So you would apply it and you'll have the same color all over.
4. 3. Linings and foams: Okay. For the lining
inside of your bag, you see this is actually an lining that we use it
for inside of the bag. Again, it has
different materials. I want to use this for my bag. Well, I've got the cows
leather and it's very thick. See, again, this is
also a cow leather. If you have good leather, it would be thinner. And you can also use foam. Say, What's this foam used for? This phone goes actually in-between the lining
and my leather. It will give more thickness to my bag and it will make it
more stable and better. So if you're using goat leather, you should provide this
foam so you can use it in between your lining and your leather so
it would be thicker, your bag would be thicker. But here I'm using color
there, but even then, I want my bag to be thicker and it would be more
stable and stronger. So I'll be using my phone. Whatever pattern I
create, my leather, I should create it
on my lining and my phone as well
and cut them out. And then I will craftsman
sue them together.
5. 4. Creating the pattern on the leather: Okay, now we get to the measuring of the leather for creating our
pattern of the back. Again, if you consider
this bank as an example, it has something that
come over and closes it. This is the front of the bag. And this is the back of the bag. So we have three parts of a bag. So we create three
circles at first. Toolbar circles are exactly
the same and similar. And if I want my bags
length to be 22 cm, I have to create a circle as
the 26 cm as its diameter. So up to here, it would be actually
a complete circle. If you want to have a bag
as the length of 22 cm, you have to create a circle
with a diameter of 26 cm. And this upper part of our backs should be
completely straight, so it shouldn't be as a
croissant or curved shapes. So I create a line as
the size of 18 cm. So the length of my bag is 22, and opening part of my
bag would be 18 cm. And based on your own desire, you can considered less or more. I'm just giving you
an example over here. Again, I'll do the same
for my second circle. So this upper part of it, again, I create a straight line
as the length 18 cm. This is the back end. This is the front
part of the bag, but the part that covers
my bag is a bit different. You see, the circle is
exactly the same as we've create in our two
previous shapes with a diameter of 26 cm, and I'll create a
horizontal straight line as a length of 18 cm. But for this upper part, I will create a rectangle
as The length of 10 cm and I get its
corners out like this. You see, we should not create the corners
of our rectangles. It should be cut sideways. Then for the sides of your
bag you see for these parts, we also need another
rectangle shape that as much as it
would be wider, our bag would be wider. If it would be more narrow, our bag would be more narrow. So as you can see, I've created a rectangle
as the amount of 7 cm. And the length of
it should be as much as all around my bag. So if I've considered my
diameter 26 centimeter, you see, the rectangle
that I have here should have the length of 17 cm. It's 77 for all around my back. That obviously if you want
your bag to be more narrow, you can consider this 7 cm less. And if you want it to be wider, you can consider the 7 cm more. For my bags is trap. I've considered the
width of it 3 cm. These two are my bag is straps. As you see, it's 1.2. My second rectangle until
the end of my letter part, I will cut them and then when
I connect them together, I will create my straps. You should get these
twice because I want my bag is strapped to
be with two layers. From each one of them. You'll get them out twice. So this was the part that covers my bag and these would be my
front and back of the back. Well, you shouldn't just
throw away the extra Mathers.
6. 5. Cutting the leather with a cuter and scissors : As I said before,
cutting your letter, if you have a circular
shape or a curved shape, I'm going to use my scissors. And for straight parts
like the bag is straps, I'm going to use my cutter. So I would move exactly of the part that
I've created with my pen. I've created my
circle with my pen. Make sure that your Caesar's go exactly on the line
that you've created. And you would not go
out of it with lots of cautious and should
be really careful. I got to straight part. I'm going to use my cutter. I place my surface here
underneath my letter and ruler. And obviously my cutter, I place my ruler exactly
on this straight line. I hold my ruler very
strongly and hard. So it would not move
while I'm cutting. I press it and I cut
it with my cutter. So straight area I shouldn't
be really problematic. And as I said before, we're going to cut
this area sideways. Just like that. And again over here, first, I place my ruler
on my line, I'll fix it. And then when I'm sure I apply my cutter on it
and I cut my letter. And if you saw that it was not separators completely
with your cutter, again, you can use your
scissors to cut it out. I mean, my cutter has
cut it completely. But because the inner
parts of it are a little hard to be separated on cutoff. We'd only the cutter. I'm using my scissors so I can completely
separated with the cutter. It was actually sliced up. And use your cutter
for straight lines. And I will be cutting all of my patterns
and I'll come back.
7. 6. Cutting the pattern on the linings and foam: Alright, so I've cut out
everything that I've created, every pattern that I've
created on my leather. These are for my bag is straps. This is for around of my bag. This is front and
back of my bag. And this is the part
that's covering my bag. And I actually created
these on my phone. I mean, covering part the front and back and
around of my bag. I've created them
on my foam as well. I mean, I didn't a craft. It did bag is straps
on the phone. But be careful the
forms that you cut out should be actually
1 cm less than your leather pattern from
each side because it won't make a pretty outcome and
it would be bad in shape. So you see, I've got
firms for all of them, but I've got them 1 cm
lists from each side. And one for my rectangle
for the round of my bag. And now they're lining. I've created a lining
for the round of my bag. But be careful, the
size of the linings should be exactly as the
size of my leather patterns. It shouldn't be less
like the foams. It should be exactly as
the size of the letters. One for the front, one for the back of my bag, and one for the covering, and also for the bags pockets. You see these are examples of the bags
that I'm going to show you in the back that we are
working in this course. It will have one
pocket in the back and one inside of
the bag like that. For creating these pockets. I've created a rectangle
like this from my linings material
for inside of my bag. If you wanted. Actually, you can create it for the
ER lining as well. And the size of it
depends on you. How much do you want it to be? And I've got two for two
pockets outside of the bag. I mean, I mean, obviously, the pocket would be four or
5 cm lower than the edge. So I've got one of them
incomplete size and another, another one is actually
four or 5 cm is smaller. Because as I said before, the zipper would be lower, so I would not need my aligning to be
completely the same size.
8. 7. Gluing the foam on the leather: Okay. Now I want to place
the foam on my letter, on front, back, my bags
cover and my bag rounding. So for that, I place my iron
glue on all of my phone. I insist on all of my firm. I mean, no parts of my firm
should be left without glue. So even on the edges, I apply my glue like this. If you can see our firm is
a start changing its shape. So we wait until our, our glue is dry and our foam would be in
its previous shape. And we never have to connect our letter
to this form before. It will be dried and it will
be in a deformed shape. So I waited until
it would be a bit dried as much as if
I put my hand on it. It would not stick to my hand. So I'll just let it dry. And then in the meantime, I would be applying
my glue on my leather exactly the same way on
all of my letters surface. Now this foam has been changed to its
previous shape. Again. It's a little sticky,
but it's okay. It's not supposed to
be completely dry. So very carefully, I would
apply it on my leather. Be very, very careful that that it wouldn't be misplaced
because if it would, you cannot take it off again. So press it hard with your hand. Push it hard with your hand. So you make sure all parts
of it would be stocks. As you can see, our leather is very straight. It's not deformed because we've left our firm to
be dried for a while.
9. 8. Gluing the bag's lining : Alright, As you can see, I've stuck all of my four
foam pieces on their own. Leather pieces. As you can see, they're all done. Alright. Now I'm going to tell
you how you can stick your lining onto your phone. Again. For doing that, we will not need to actually apply our glue all
over our phone. If we apply our glue on
the edges and sides, it would be enough and the amount of the
glue should not be too much that it will come
out of the edges and sides. And it shouldn't be
too less that it would not stick because this area, uh, my phone was too much and it actually
covered my whole letter. I cut it out with my cutter very slowly as much as I don't
cut the letter itself. Okay. And after I've
applied my glue all over, my firm and leader, I would be starting to
stick and apply my lining. And I'd be really careful, again to place it exactly on
this side and on the edge. This lining would be also
be sued onto our letter. So if it wasn't too
strongly stock, it's okay because it's
going to be sued. Anyway. I'll do the same thing
for all the theft pieces.
10. 9. Cutting the placement of the pocket: Okay. I have applied my lining
for the round of my bag, different part of my bag and
a covering part of my back. I've stuck my lining. I glued it all around on the edges and I've
got it covered. Now we're going to
work on the back of the bag because we're
going to use a zipper. I'm not going to apply
the lining right away. First, I should apply
the placement of determined the placement of
the zipper from the top, I'm coming down as
the amount of 5 cm. I'll create a horizontal line and this would be the
placement of my zipper. So I'll come down about
half centimeters. And again, I'll create
another horizontal line. Basically I'm creating
a rectangle which has the width of half
centimeters from the top, it has 5 cm and from this side, it would have three. If you want, your pocket
would be to be smaller. I mean, if it would be bigger, it wouldn't be good
because it will collide and be problematic for you because it will
collide with the edges. If you want it to be a smaller, you can consider the
measurements less. So I've got 3.5 cm from each
side to create my pocket, 5 cm from the top. And my rectangle has the
width of half centimeters. Overall. We all do caught are straight
lines with our cutters. So I'll be placing my
ruler exactly on the line. I'll have my cutter. When even a part of it got
caught off and sliced. I can use my scissors
and go on to line that I've created
with my cutter. And then I can make
this rectangle empty. Alright. I've called
this area out. And after you've done that, you should cut this edge
of the firm a little. Again, pay attention. I'm just cutting off the foam, naught the leather on the edge. Now, our pocket going to be
placed, if you remember, I've told you
before that we will get two parts like this. For the back pocket, I applied a smaller one over here on the lower
edge of my zipper. I'm going to do that. See, this lining should be applied to the lower edge
of my zipper placement. It should be sold
into that area. From the bottom. The lining would be exactly
placed on the edge of my bag. And from the top I
will actually fold 1 cm toward inside because
I want my work to be cleaner and I don't
want this regularly things to show themselves. So I just filled one centimeters inside so I would have
to stick it down. I will glue it so I can
have this 1 cm folded up. Inside. My work would
be cleaner obviously. See, it's going to be like that. This is a back
pocket for the bag. I'm actually applying
this lining for my bank. Say it has one lining here. It has been sued to the
lower edge of our zipper. And the other one is
going to be sued on the upper edge of the zipper. Again, I will apply some glue to the lower edge
of my zippers placement. And very slowly
and very carefully I'll apply it over here. I place my lining here. Be very careful
that it would not come higher and it would
not get out of line. And then I will attach the
bottom and the rest of my lining to the
round of my bag. Again, I say, you don't have to stick it so hard and
use too much glue because we're going
to do it later and we're going to do some letter crafting and it would be okay. Now, I'm going to place, actually apply the placement
of my suing with this ruler. I'm going to tell you how
you can work with this. Again, it has four rows and
the usage of it is that the distance is
between the holes are very good and they
are different. But in each row, distances between
the points between the holes are equal
and the same. So after applying
this on our work, we can actually determine the placement of
the swing points. I'm going to use
this second row. I place it with a good
distance from the edge of my work and just be careful
from top up to here. Distances should
be all the same. So place your ruler straight. Then I use my pen to apply
these marks and points. I'll do the same for
all around my edge. Now it's time that I
glue down my zipper. To my work. I will
apply the glue here. The zipper itself should
be placed outwards. So the zipper would
be placed here. As you can see from here, it should come toward inside the amount
of one centimeters. I mean, it should
be more than that. The zipper should
be applied right? In-between these two edges. Exactly. Okay. We don't need the
upper edge right now. We don't need to glue it. And then I bring it
outside actually. And from here, after 1 cm, I'm going to cut the
rest of the zipper. Now, I'm going to make punches, holes in these parts and points. As I told you, we
have different sizes. This one makes smaller
marks and smaller holes. I want to use the
smallest tip to create this smallest holds and punches. In order to do that first, I should open my zipper. And I place the tip of my whole pond exactly
on the marks, endpoints that I've created. I've already created here. And then with a strong pressure, I'll create these
holes and punches. See, at the same time, we are actually creating
holes in letters, foams, linings, and
even the zipper.
11. 10. Creating the back pocket: Okay, I've created all the
punches on the lower edge, and now I'm going to work on
the upper edge of my zipper. Again. First, I
will glue it down. Then it's better if I
close my zipper at first. And then I apply my zipper
and I stick it to my phone. After I've done that, I'll get my second lining. And I apply it here. See, I'm going to apply it on this upper edge of my zipper. First, I'll fix my lining from the bottom and
from the slides. I'll put it in its
own placement. And then I will press it
here and it will be stuck. Then I will fold back the
rest of my extra lining. And now if my zipper
would be open, you can see we have
a pocket here. Okay? Now I would also connect the edges of these two
linings to each other. I mean, I will stick
them all together. The linings. Again, I say I'm not putting
too much pressure here. I don't want it to be too
stiff because they would be stiff and stronger
with suing and crafting. Then I'll do the same punching for the upper edge of
my zipper as well. I should give you a hint. If you've seen, I've
used the inner part of my pocket to make holes and
punches for the lower edge. But for the upper edge, I can not do that. For doing that, I should work it from outside of my bag so I can have two layers of linings becoming
sued in my work. And it's not suitable for here because we cannot use
it as you can see. Now, I'm going to use my leather hole punch
and my letter hammer. As I did with my device. I will apply the tip of my leather hole punch and
then I hit it with my hammer. And be careful about that. Number of these two tips
should be the same. Because you are going to create the same size holes for the top and for the job
and for the bottom. So because I'm working
on a glass table, I cannot do it, but I'm
going to show you then.
12. 11. Sewing around the zipper : Alright, now as you can see, I've created the holes and
punches all around my zipper. And now I want to do it's
suing or leather crafting. The swing that I
want to do here. See I need thread as the amount of the diameter
that I want to sue or craft. And I wanted four times over. But how is its sewing or
leather crafting better? Say C, the lower edge would
be crafted from inside, but the upper edge would
be crafted from outside. Again, as we did the punching. I have created a nod at the end of my thread, a small one. And then I start from
wherever I want. I get through the holes
and punches one-by-one. And I go one backwards. And then I make it through
two punches forward. So when I came out from
two holes forward, again, I go back. One holds backwards again. I will come out of this punch. My thread has came out of
this hole, as you can see, it should go to for word and
it would come out over here. See, I'll bring it out and
I'll do the same til the end. Again. I go one backwards
and I get my thread through, and I go to forward, to forward comparing
to this threat. Again, I go back, see, my thread is here. So I go one whole
back, one punch back. I get my needle out. And again from where I have
my thread, the needle, I go to punches forward and
I should take my needle out. I'll do it one more time. I go one backward. And to forward. It should come out from here. So just continue this
procedure till the end. All around the zipper. All right. You see, I've got my
crafting up to here. Okay. Now my leather crafting and suing is completed
for the zipper. And sorry, because my
hand is a bit dirty, it's because of all the gluing. And as I told you before, I've considered by thread four times of the diameter
of this area. So I got extra
thread. I'll cut it. But I leave one or half
centimeters extra. I take the extra thread and I'll set it on fire
until it gets close. It gets really close, and then I blow it off. I'll do the same
for its beginning. So it would be really clean. And then from here, I will cut out the extra
part of my linings. It would go underneath and then it can not be
seen, so don't worry. All right, You see how this suing is clean and perfect
and without any mistakes, and just don't forget
that you would not stick these
linings inside out.
13. 12. Applying the pocket's zipper: Now for inside pocket, we do not need this right now. As I told you before, we need a rectangle lining
for the inner pocket. And this part has been left out, which is actually four inside of our bag on the back of the bank. This is another lining. So before I attach
it to this area, I should attach this
pocket to this lining and then altogether I should
stick them my whole back. So first of all, I should apply the placement of the zipper over
here and as I did on the back end for the out-of-pocket are do
the same for here. Again, just like before, I come half centimeters down, cut this area out. And I will actually have my
zipper which is ready here. So try to use the
same zipper for the outer and inner
pocket because I didn't have I had to
have different ones. But if it's possible
for you try to get this same zippers
for in and out. So one centimeters
from each side, my zipper should be extra. On the sides amine. I open and close
at once so I make sure it doesn't
have any stockings. I mean, it won't
stock in any parts. I'll leave one centimeters
and I cut the rest of it. Alright, now I'll get to
this rectangle lining. This would be actually
the inside of my pocket. I will apply this upper part to the upper edge of the zipper. And be really careful that we
would not apply any glue on the middle part of your zipper because it can
make some problems for you. Then I would also
glued a lower edge. And you can see I will stick
the lower edge like that. Now if I open my zipper, You see that's the
part that I've just glued at VI are going
to sue it as well. This is the upper part. Now you can use your
sewing machine or you can use your needle and
thread to sue it.
14. 13. Sewing the pocket: Alright, I've chosen
normal needle and thread. And I start suing my zipper. Okay? When I got to the zipper, I start from here and I start suing the upper
part of the zipper. Actually, I'm suing over here. After I've sue the upper
part of the zipper, I'll get to here. And from over here. And again, I continue to
sue the side of my pocket. I came down and I
come back and I'll sue the opposite side because
I wanted to be more firm. I go on and pseudopods
that I haven't before. C, I'm going to sue this area that I
haven't done it before. So now I get to the lower part of my zipper. I shouldn't sue it
from here. This time. I should have started from
inside of the pocket. I should do it from
inside of my pocket. I get it out of some
place and I start suing because this area is glued
down and it's also dried. It will be a bit harder to sue. Okay. I've said it completely. I saw it completely. I did it on all sides. And now my zipper
and pocket is ready.
15. 14. Applying the bag's cover to the bag itself: Now, before I want
to attach it to the rest of my leather,
I should apply. I mean, I should craft the covering of my bag
on the back of it. So first we should sue it. There are suing would
be actually underneath the lining and it would not
be seen if I do it right now if I put my lining right
now on the back of my bag, does suing and letter
crafting would be over my lining and
it won't look good. So before suing, obviously
I should use my glue. So I will use some glue
on the edges on this, a straight edge of course, and then I'll apply
it on its placement. Exactly. Be really careful. I give it some time to dry. And then I mark the
placement of the suing. Then I start creating
punches and holes. For the parts which are
on the sides and edges. I can use my tool end device
to create my punches. But for here, I should use by leather hole punch
for the middle area. I mean, I've created all
the punches and holes. And now I start do my
leather crafting from here. Very simply, I craft this area. Sue this area. And I go forward one-by-one. These writings on
your leather would just be erased very
easily at the end. So don't worry about
them right now. You can just use a part of fabric and a part of
soap very easily. I got to the end. Now for it's returning row, I actually pseudopods
which I have not done. You see, if you look
at it from this view, this area has not been solved. Okay, Now it's time. So I will attach this lining for the back of the bag to itself. This is the back. This is
the lining for the back. Okay. I've glued it down. Perfect. Just open the
zippers and close the ones. To say this part has been
left open and I want to slow it down to
this part as well. So before this lining
would be stock, I should have done that too. There is no problem. So I'm going to open it up. Now. I should also punch this area as well,
create punches holes. And just like that area, I should sue it and
crafted as well. Okay. I've created my
holes and punches and just as before
I start suing here. So it's okay, I've got the
glue of this area open. I will sue here and then again, I will stick it with the glue. Stick it back. Okay. As you can see, I've crafted this
upper part as well. And I'll glue it back again. Just like that.
16. 15. Gluing the parts around the bag: Okay. Now it's the time
that I would attach and stick the rounding of my
work to the back of my bag. Before I do that, you see in some of the areas, the lining might come
out of my work and before I stick it to
my work, to my bag, I should definitely
cut these parts which has came out from your underneath your litter and be very careful
that you would not cause any leather in
this phase of your work? All around our work or anywhere, if there are any linings coming out from
underneath your letter, you should do the same thing. I mean, you should cut
them with your scissors. After I cut out
the extra lining, I'll apply my glue. And then I leave 2 cm of the surroundings
outside of my work. Then I apply the
surroundings of my bag. As I said before into
the introduction, I'm going to use these paperclips so I
can fix this rounding. And my glue would be dried. From each side. There are going to
be 2 cm lift out. And we cut the extra
width scissors. Alright. This area, god, attached and
glued down and it's dry now. And now it's time for me to glue down this front part
of why bag here. This is the front
part of my bag. I glued it down and again, I'm using my paperclips to fix the two layers
onto each other. Be really careful that both
of the layers would be on the same level and not any of them would be higher or
lower than the other one. This is very important
if you want to have a clean outcome. Alright, I've made
them completely, I've glued them
completely and I've called these sides of my work
as the shapes of curves. And Chris owns, that was
the inside of the bag. And this is the outer
side of the bag. Now, the only thing
left is that we just swing around the back. The front, the back and all around are covering of the bank. Okay. And over here again, you should pay attention that the distance between the
holes that you're going to create should be exactly
the same from each other. And also the distance of them with the edge of your bag
should be the same as well. So very carefully is start
creating marks over here. You should do this
very patiently in order not to misplace any
of the punches or holes. Again, I insist the
distance between them and between them and the edge should be all the same. Okay, I've marked
a part of my work. I'm going to show you how
you should plan to it. Again, you're going
to use your tool. Be sure that both sides of your work has been
glued down together. If some parts like
this have been actually not glued
down completely yet, the placement of the
markings might be misplaced. So also the holes and punches that you're
going to create would be not a straight
and they would not be in their own placement and
it will not be organized.
17. 16. Applying the magnetic button to the bag: Alright, now I want to apply my magnetic
buttons over here. This has a bump and
this area has a curve. We should apply
the curved area on the front of the bag and the bump on the
covering of the bag. I've loved this
area open a little. And you see from
underneath my lining, I've also lifted open as well. From underneath my lining, I should apply the placement. I should determine
the placement of y magnetic buttons and it might be almost 5 cm above
the edge of my back. I would have to
create two holes for these two parts so it
can go inside of my bag. So I just determine these
two parts and mark them. And then I will punch
these two parts. I'll make holes with
an almost bigger tip. Then I push my button
inside of my bag. You see it over here and
then I'll place this. You see, this also
has two holes, so I get them out of that. This would be the result. The thing that I did
inside of the bag and you might not have
seen it is this. I place it on inside of the shares and then I bend them towards sides. It's actually being
locked and it will be firm and it would
not be separated. Then again, I will stick down
these two parts together.
18. 17. Leather crafting the front of the bag: Alright, now I've created all these holes and
punches all around. And right now I want
to use my needle and my waxed thread to suing. Now, before doing that, it's better that you put
some soap on your fabric and clean this area completely
clean and erase all the marks. Just as easy as that
because they would be harder to erase after suing. Crafting that I'm
going to do here is actually the two nasal suing. And you need to pick your thread three times more
than this amount. So you would not
have the shortage of thread in the
middle of your work. I'm going to do the crafting exactly the same way as I did for attaching the covering
to the back of my bag. I go once and I'm going to return because I
want to do it faster. I'm going to do it
with two noodles. How am I going to do that? Well, starting from
the first hole, I bring out one of my needles
from this from one side and I'll get the other needle
from the opposite of it. So see how it's done. I got the needle out of
the first hole and then I got the other needle out
of the whole across from it. And remember to pull your
thread completely on each side so your threads size would be the same on
the right and left. So they would finish together. I move on to the second
hole with this needle. I go to this side. After you've done that, you should get your left
needle and you should pull it through the same second
hole to the other side. Again, I pull them very
hard and then I do the exact same thing for the
third pole and punch again. From this with this needle, I go to the other side and
with my left needle again, I go through the same punch and hold toward the right side. And then I pull it
strongly and heart. Now again with my right
needle from the fourth hole, I come toward left. With this. From left, I go to the right. You see this is the front end, this is the bag crafting. Just remember to
pull your thread. Your thread would not be loose. I have the crafting
on both sides. And this way I save a lot. So a lot of time. It's really easier
and better way. So you need to go all
around it and you need to pick your thread three times
more than this amount. So you would not
have the shortage of thread in the
middle of your work. So continued until the end. Alright? I've continued
up to this area and I want to craft this edge
here and this area. Some of my lining has not been attached to my
leather completely. So I've done that. And now I actually
be marking here for, for starting to craft. So remember if in any
part of your work lining was not attached and
glued down to your leather? Very well. You can do it again. After Dad, I'm going to
continue this on this inner age because we have, we wanted actually to apply this to
the covering of the bag. We've already punch this area and I'm going through
the same ones. And I haven't created
any new holes. If you enjoyed this
course, by the way, do live a good review
because it really helps.
19. 18. Crafting the bag's cover-Apllying magnetic button to the bag's cover: After I've finished suing this inner part of
my back completely, I guess, to my bags covering. As you can see, I've just created punches
and holes all around it. And I want to bring my threads to the first
hole of the bags covering. Just like that, again, I'm using the two noodle way of crafting just like this. Okay? My thread has finished here. As you can see, I've
considered my thread less than three times
of my whole work, so that's why it was finished before the whole
thing was crafted. I bring both of the
threads toward inside. So I'll blow them off and
I finished them here. Now over here we want to apply the second part of our magnetic
button for the covering. You will actually apply
it completely over. Go place it over completely. So we can determine the
placement of our button. And from all sides, We will fix the
covering so it would be completely on its placement
and it would not be sideways. We completely in the center and edges and size should
completely go on each other. And then I see where I mean which point is
actually applied on this part of my button. Then I can easily market
Mark it's approximate place. So this place would
be actually covering the center of the first part
of our magnetic button. So I'm going to use my
leather hole punch again. And I'll punch through
both sides of this point. I've created something like that from the extra
parts of my leather. I've actually created
these two holes here. And because I want my button to be firm and it would
not fall off soon. I apply this leather part two. So first I get my button
through my linings, then I get my
leather through it. And then I guess my
log inside of it and I bend it towards
sides so it would be completely locked inside. Alright, now I want to
stick this letter area and I will also apply the glue on my Boston as well on
my buttons lock as well. And I stick it back to
the firm and leather. Then I close it to see if I've placed my button in
the right place. Yeah, It is in the right place. So that's how we do
the magnetic buttons. I just should leave it
to be dry and stuck.
20. 19. Leather crafting the back of the bag: Alright, now I'm finished. I've completely
crafted the covering as well, all around it. As you can see. Now I want to go and craft
the back of the bag. And when I go to this point, I'm going to also work
on this other edge. So I brought both actually, I took both needles of fear toward this
side that I want to start crafting one needle
and thread on each side. Alright? I've also
crafted these edges here that it would be crafted into the lining and it would not be separated from my work. And it'll also give a good
appearance to my work. So as you can see, there are no edges
left without suing. So once more, I'm going to teach you how you should actually eliminate the end
of your threads. Actually set them on fire. You wait until it gets very
close to your linings. I'll just pull it strongly ones first and
then I'll do this again.
21. 20. First step of crafting the strap-Creating punches and holes: Okay. As I told you in the
beginning of this tutorial, we should have twice from
each size of our straps. So I get two parts
of the pattern. And you should apply two layers
of your strap together so it would be thick enough to hold actually the
weight of your bag. And as I told you, you can use this
adjustments for your bag is straps in order to make
them shorter or longer. That's why they've actually
make them into two parts. These are two main parts. These are two main parts and these are going to be
the second layers of them. Obviously first, I should
glue them down to each other. Make sure that you
apply the glue even on the edges of your strap. That's true. That is going to
be crafted later, but you should apply glue on it. So in the long term, the two layers of this trap would not be
separated from each other. I apply these two
layers on top of each other very, very carefully. And from one side, I just try to match the
edges with each other. From one side is enough. And then from the other side, it might just come out
a little millimeters. So I would just get
the extras OUT. See from this side, I place the both layers on
top of each other exactly. They are both on the same level. They are not shorter or longer. See from this side, I place the both layers on
top of each other exactly. They are both on the same level. They are not shorter or longer. From this side, you can
see in some places, the lower one is actually one or 2 mm
extra in some parts. I'm going to cut it by cutter
and it would be easier. It would be fixed. K I've glued down the
other strap as well. I've created two
layers of the straps and I got the extras out
of them with by cutter. Okay. As you can see, I've caught one side of my strap sideways. Now I'm going to place my marks for my crafting
is with the threat. As your markings would be closer to the
edge of your work, your work would be
actually more firm. I mean, you should not get these markings toward
inside of your strap, toward the center of
your strap too much. Because later, this glue between these two
layers might just get open and then your layers would split up and it
will not look good. So as much as the holes
are closer to the edge, our work is more firm.
22. 21. Leather crafting the strap: Alright. I've created two parts of
my straps. Straps here. I've crafted actually, I've created leather hole
punches all around them. And again, I want to craft
them with the two needle way. I'm not going to craft
them to each other. I mean, these two are going to attach to each other with
the use of this tool. So I'll actually craft
them separately. Okay? Again, I'm going to use the two needle
away from one hole. I take two needles out. From both sides. I pull my threads and needle. So on both sides I have
the same amount of thread. Then I'm sure of that
I start crafting and I'll do it through all
my strap until the end. Alright. If this to needle
way is hard for you to apply, you can do the same crafting
with only one needle. You can just do to crafting very simply like normal suing. One from the front, one from the back. So we go through these
holes one-by-one in order. You see right now, if you can see there
being like this, I mean, one part in-between them are
not going to be crafted. So when we have done at
one time all around, we need to come back and craft all these empty holes that
we've left here, e.g. these two holes have
not been crafted. You see it will have the same shape as the
two needle crafting. From here is the two
needle crafting. This is with one needle. I've just went once
and came back again. Return. So which one you're more comfortable
with is okay.
23. 22. The technique of working with a rivets : Alright, in this video, I'm going to teach you
how you can use rivets. Rivet is that it can actually connect to parts
of leather together. Usually it's being
used in bag is straps. It's been created
from two parts. We need a whole as the
amount of this rivet. E.g. I want to connect
these two parts of leather with my robots together. First, I will glue
them together. Then I will use my
leather hole punch with the adequate size to create
a pond or a hole over here. Then I place my rivets here. I need this tool which I said it's being used for the rivets. One side of it is
actually curved and another part is not. So I place the rivet inside of it's carved area,
carved service. And then I hit it
with my hammer twice. And then, as you can
see with too hard hits, this rivet, God, very
hard and strong. And these two parts of
leather are now connected.
24. 23. Applying the strap holder(D-Ring): Okay. Now I want to apply
my strap to my back. I need two patterns like this. The length of them are 8 cm. The width of the top
and bottom are 4 cm. And here in the middle, I have two till 2.5 cm. I actually get them through
this tool I have here, then I glue them down. I just give them time in
order for them to dry. Now, I will determine
its placement. It will go here. As you can see, I've marked here try to place it
completely in the center. I mean, from both
sides you should have the same distance. As you can see. I've actually applied
some marks here. I'm going to craft around it. And these two main
Mars are for reverts. I'm going to revert them. So I mark them and I create
holes and punches in them. Okay. As you can see, I've created my holes and punches
on both sides. I've used my punch, my leather hole punch. Now I want to start crafting
the end of my waxed thread. See, I've created these
two holes with this size. The bigger size depends on
the size of your Revert. If you're a vet is
big. This is my rivet. You see? So this should fit
the size of my rebut. It's going to get through this. So depending on that, you should choose the size
of your holes or punches. Okay, then I start crafting. I come from the bag. I got to the end of it
and I come back again. I'll return because I
want the parts which haven't been crafted
to be crafted. Okay. I've gone all around it
completely and from behind it, I've actually burned the thread and I stuck it to my bank, eliminated the end
of the thread. Now, we have two
kinds of rivets. We have the short stem rivets
and the lungs stem robots. You see, you have
two kinds of them. We use the short summary
of it in the places that we do not have thickness in the place
that we want to use it. And the longest stem is for the parts which we are going
to use on thick surfaces. Here. I'm going to use the
longest summary of it because we have one layer of several layers of linings and
leathers and so even foam. So I get it from inside. I mean, I get it through
from the inside. And then I have the ending of the rivet placing on top of it. Like this. I get a three inside and I placed the
ending from outside. As I told you before
about this tool. And it's curved on one side is for derivate. See. I placed the server
surface here. I placed the curved
area on the rivet and then actually hit
it with a hammer. Just very hard. I'll just hit it
twice with my hammer. On this part of the
rivet which is inside, I'm going to hit these
parts with my hammer twice. As a result of this pressure. These would become
politically firm and strong and they
would not open. As I said before, my surfaces glass so
I can not do it here. I've done it in another place. And just like that, I've made my revenge. It's completely firm and they would not open
and be separated. So again, I say I placed this
curved area on my Yvette. I hold this
completely fixed with my head and then I use my
hammer and hit it twice, hit my revenge
twice from inside, so it would be fixed completely. I do the same thing of crafting and reverting for the
other side as well.
25. 24. Applying the strap adjuster: Okay, I've applied
these two parts. I've done it. They're
crafting and their reverts. Okay. Now as you can see, I have put my strap
through these parts. And then again, with
the use of two rivets, I'm going to make them firm. You can also use your
crafting on each side, a little too over
on the corners. So it would be even more strong. It's better if you use the
same color of the rivets as the rest of your
tools and things. I mean, if you're adjuster, if your strap holder is golden, your events better
be golden too. Again, the same way, I will make these two
rivets firm and steady. See, I've just attached this. And again, I want to apply
to more crafting is from the same holes I've
already created on my strap in order to make
it completely Furman study. Just like that, just to on
the corners would be enough. I'll do the same thing on
the other side as well. So two or three crafting
over each side. Okay. I've done my crafting, I've done my rivets, and now I want to apply
the adjuster of this trap. So one of them is, has a sideway tip. We denote needed right now. But the one which has
a straight and I take my strap through it like this. And then 4 cm lower
than the edge, I will apply one hole punch. Now, I get this pole through
it and then I get it out. And again, I will make it
fixed over here with robots. Okay, see, I also applied to rivets over here,
firm and strong. And again, for making
it more secure, I will apply to more
crafting on the corners. Very well. Now our adjust
their area is ready to. Now the only thing
that I should do is to apply the hole
punches that I want. On the other side of my strap. See, on this trap that has
a sideway and a sharp end, I'll create three
holes or punches. You can apply them
with the distances that you want and as
many as you want. That depends on you. From the other side. I should punch
them again because my leather is thick
and it has two layers. Now I get it through and my
strap is complete and fixed. If you want it to be shorter, you can apply more holes than
punches and bring it more. Use the lower punches. That totally depends on you now, see, this is our bags is strap. Again, let's review
the bag one more time. This is the inside pocket. The outer packet. The zippers work well. And this is this
trap of our bag. If you want your work to
be more fine and elegant, you can use a smaller
robots like this. These are smaller.
26. 25. Finishing the work: Okay. And at the end of your work, if you've seen that edges of your leather areas have so much different color from
the risks of your work. You can get the same color as the rest of your
leather and apply it on these edges of your work because they might
have different colors. Just be careful you do, you should do it very precisely. So the color would not get
through the whole work. It wouldn't be as spread out. And whatever extra
threads you have on your work very patiently
and very carefully. You'll eliminate them
with your scissors. If there are any messiness
or dirtiness on your work, you can easily clean it
with your fabric and soap. So I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial and if
you have any questions, please ask and I'll be
answering each one of you. If you enjoyed this
course, by the way, do live a good review
because it's really helps see you later
until our next course.
