1. Intro: Hello, my name is Mustafa. I'm an engineer and artist who creates videos about the creative process, art and game development. I've been creating videos for the past eight years as a self taught editor. There were so many things I didn't know about editing videos. Now that it is a big part of my weekly workflow, I have developed some habits that allow me to turn out videos very quickly. Fast forward to today, I have edited everything from a normal block to a full on beautiful, artistic videos. Today I'll be teaching you how to turn your footage into engaging content. I'll show you my whole process from the ground up broken down to simple steps. Step one, we're going to take your eclipse and add them to the timeline. Step two, we're going to take your arrow and remove all of the imperfections. Step three, we're going to show you how to add roll from images to videos. Step four is a section focused on creative editing to help you with your workflow and keep your viewers engaged. Step five, putting the music and the sound effects. Step six, going through the color grading process. Lastly, exporting and enjoying your videos. I hope you enjoy this course as much as I enjoyed making it. My Youtube is linked to my profile and I would love to connect with you. 2. Welcome: Welcome to the Vinji course. I will take you step by step on how I edit my videos from start to finish. And I'll show you the most efficient way to take the videos from your camera and edit them in a beautiful way to make it very seamless and engaging for your viewers. And I'm sure after you give my workflow a try, become a better and efficient editor. But before we start, let me share with you why we're going with Vini. One of the things that I really enjoy about this program is that the Def team behind it, they really listen to their audience and they take the feedback very seriously. Over the past few years, they've improved the program so much and they made it very competitive and on par with everything already on the market. They've been adding future after future and making it faster with every update. The second thing I like about it is the color grading tab. Is the industry standard of color grading. And it has so much that you can do and just by practicing and understanding how it works, you're on par with the color graders in the professional industry. So this is a very good long term investment if you really wanted to get into the industry. Lastly, it has after effects baked in which called Fusion. We're not going to be covering it in this course because it has a completely different workflow. But I can assure you, similar to all the other programs, you don't need it to create beautiful videos. So without further ado, let's get started. 3. Essential Quality of life: When you launch the vendor result for the first time, you can start a new project. We're going to do a new project right off the bat, One of the things that you need to do is to do a couple of things for a quality of life. First of all, when you go into the option stab, you need to make sure that your timeline resolution is up to what you want to. You can do it up to four K, and right now I have it as an HD. But if you scroll down, they have a lot of different things. You can do 2k4k, et cetera. You can also do as a vertical resolution. If you're doing stuff for Instagram or Tiktok. The next thing is to make sure that you lock in your frames per second. Usually, if you're doing something for Youtube, you want it to be locked for 24 frames, but it's also up to your preference. If you want it to be like 30, 61, 20, mostly like 24 frames per second. Will do. Second thing is you want to make sure that Vin can auto save. By doing that is going up to the diving resolve, going to preferences and check into user project save and load and make sure that the life save is clicked. Otherwise sometimes when you're working and you're loading a lot of files, it might crash. And that would be very bad. If it life saves, at least you'll be protected. It saves every few seconds and you'll be okay with that. 4. Importing your clips: In this module, we're going to go through how to get your clips into the media pool. Basically, it's everything you need to start editing. I have a clip here. All I can do is drag and drop. And I'll ask you if you want to change the frame rate. Since I've already established that I wanted it to be at 24 frames per second, it will automatically change the media. Let's say if you shot it in 25 frames, it will bring it back to 24. Same thing, if you do it in 60 frames or 120 frames, it will interpret it as a 24 frames. That way you can have slow motion clips, for example. If you shot it in 120 frames per second, that would be like 20% So you can slow down the clip by 20% and we'll give it all the way back to 24 frames per second. I'm just don't change, you're just going to see that it's been added now. I can just go ahead and play it. You can do the same thing for all of your other clips, have like B role or if you have any pictures or sound effects. 5. Tab Overview: First thing you're going to notice in the Inger resolve is like you have so many different tabs at the bottom. So the first one is the media tab, which we already added our media files. The second one is the cut tab, which you can go ahead and do different cuts to your put and edit. The third one is also the edit tab, which basically is the same as the cut but it's just like a different layout actually. The cut tab was added in the Vinger Resolve 16 and it was just trying to get it up to power with all the other software like Final Cut Pro. We pretty much can do the same things in both tabs. And there's no much difference except to like how you like your workflow. The second one is the fusion, and this is basically similar to after effects. You can do a lot of different things. The only thing that's different between this one and after effects is that this one uses the node system, while after effects uses the layer system. The next tap is the color and the color correction tab is very important where you can add a lot of different things and improve your color grading. For example, this is how the clip looks before color grading. And this is after you can apply your grade and do a lot of different things. This is by far as the industry standard for doing Ed Cao correction and it's very powerful. Next tab is the audio which you can edit a little bit. The last one is that the Liver tab, where you can select how you want to export your file and have it ready for social media. 6. First Cut: Now let's get to the fun part, actually editing your clips. And we're going to do that in the two tabs. The first time we're going to edit, we're going to edit in the cut tab, we're going to edit a little bit. And then we're going to switch to the edit tab and edit a little bit there. And it'll leave it up to your preference which one you like most. But to start with the edit tab, one thing you need to do is to go to the vender resolve at keyboard customization and click on the edit in the append. You want to have that as because it just makes it so much easier. This one will tell you that's already assigned to trim extended edit. We're going to go and click Assign. But we're going to go there and remove it from extended edit because we don't really need it, we're just going to go here. Remove that and press Save. We're good. Basically what it does is let's just double click on this clip and extend it all the way. So we can see basically what the E does is it takes the clip from here and adds it into your timeline. Let me show an example. I'm going to move cursor, and one of the shortcuts that you need to do is I. Which is if I press here and press is out, and you see that it highlighted only this section. When a press E is going to import that back into the timeline. We notice when you move this time line, bottom also moves it. That couldn't work for you, but I find it very jarring. You can go and click here and then fix Playhead. Remove that. Now when you move, it basically makes the timeline independent from the pinhead. One other thing is like you can move the timeline by clicking the middle mouse button to move the timeline. Or you can just go down here and scroll. But basically I want it to be at the end. Let's go here and play. Very important, let's start over and just show you how everything works. You can do the same thing here. Basically, I want to listen and add the clips down to my edit tab. If you're an artist or just looking. Okay, one thing you can do is if I want to go back, you can click on the penhead and go back. Or you can press the arrow keys to go one frame at a time. Or you can press Shift Arrow and that goes like 1 second. I want to add this if you're an artist or if you're an artist or want to give digital art a try. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet just for you. Okay, press and then press. And now it's going to play down here if you're an artist or want to give digital art a try. I'm reading from a script that's something that we're going to edit later, where you can remove all of these pauses and make it all seamless. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet just for you. Okay, now we're going to go click back on the clip. Double click. Let's play Fong tablet press. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Okay, I'm going to add that clip in here. If you choose the wrong one. And you notice I've done a lot of mistakes when I'm recording. And that's completely normal when you're making a video. There's always stuttering and there's just a lot of bloopers. It's just part of the process. The editing basically is the magic that ties everything together. You chose the wrong one, you will actually slow your progress. Okay, We're going to press and put that in now we have 20 seconds of footage Press and won't give you a good experience. Okay. Basically, rinse and repeat and there is no doubt that you can create any art using any tools you have. You can even make art with a mouse. There is no doubt that you can. I noticed that I've already added the clip that I re recorded. Again, there is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. But why hinder yourself? I think this is the end of this and E it's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking the plane. Using a Stylus. Using a stylus pin, you can notice like every time I make a mistake I press, just keep playing. And then whenever you find like a good entrance or a good starting of the click press and when it's done, press and then press basically just cut it off. Using a stylus pin gives you precision and control. You can always adjust with your arrows where you want it to start. Using a stylus pin gives you precision and control. Okay, and I see on the clip there is a big gap. So I'm just going to fast forward because tablets are pressure sensitive and can be adjusted to your needs at this will give you and you notice I made a mistake. I pressed but then I realized that I didn't start over. Say I was like, oh, I made a mistake and I meant to go back. Service controls it. And you can just get back where you left off, control over your canvas and this will give you full control over your canvas. I'll make it very natural for you. Seem like this clip will have a lot of edits, so we're going to do that later. But as much as you can try and get Eclipse without deposits into your timeline, you can reduce the clip from being like a 20 minute to like 5 minutes if there was a graph, if there was a graph of improvement between using a mouse and a pen, it would look like this. I know that I wanted to add the B roll in here, so I'm going to do a right click on this clip. Do a clip color, change it to orange, then go here, double click. The mouse will really give you a linear progression. But the pen, just like many of my friends, I want to break this clip into two pieces, like a linear progression progression. And then put that are like many of my friends. There's always this Aha moment that can give you from here all the way up to here, okay? Because the pressure sensitivity is very important and it makes it very natural fear. Because pressure sensitivity is very important. Because pressure sensitivity is very important and makes it a very natural progression when you're using it on your canvas. Good, it makes a huge difference. It makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Okay, let's go, let's go through my set up. I'm currently using a Wacom into a medium. Okay. Let's dive into why this tablet works for me. That can I wanted something that I wanted, something I want. I wanted something that can fit inside my backpack without taking too much space. Okay. And I wanted to also add a beer roll in here. I'm going to add a lot more Be roll but for now just like highlight some stuff. I used to have an Intuus pro five medium. This thing was awesome. But the problem with it was very big and bulky. It wasn't wireless outside of the box. I wanted just something very simple. I wanted it to be compact and have wireless capabilities basically. So I can take it anywhere from a coffee shop to a co working space. Okay, y. But you might ask, why don't I use an ipad rather than this one, even though the ipad might have a lot more capabilities because of the screen. But the thing is, for me, at least, I just don't enjoy drawing on a screen. I don't like to have half of my canvas obstructed with my hand. Using this gives me visibility over my canvas. Using this gives me full visibility over my canvas and I can just move anywhere I want. Don't worry. When you adjust the volume, it's the volume of the program, not the volume of the clip. In the next module, I'm going to show you how you can adjust all of that for now. Just all we will need to worry about is to get the clips into our timeline. This really works well. This works for my workflow. I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and Sprite because I'm using a PC and I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and a Sprite. My grand advice is, look for your wants and needs before you're looking into any model. And all of that is based on the tools that you're using on a daily basis. For example, if you're using Photoshop, then having a tablet is very important for you. But if you're using a lot of stuff with an IOS ecosystem and you're using procreate, then it makes sense to get an ipad. Basically, what we're trying to do is get that tablet and make it improve your productivity ten times. Because I re recorded this, I know that. I'm going to say it again. So I'm just going to press basically what you're trying to do is have that tablet to improve your productivity tenfold. For example, if you're using Photoshop, get a tablet that can unlock the full potential of Photoshop. So there's a big pause in there. I'm going to move, but if you're down to learning something new, that's also up to you. But if you're also down to learn new, but if you're also down to learn new tools, that's completely up to you, especially if you're just starting out. My case, I've been using Photoshop for more than 18 years, so it makes sense for me to try and unlock the full potential rather than trying to learn something new. Okay, see we're already around 60% done. And one of the biggest mistake I see a lot of people, okay. Now a good chunk, this will also save you a lot of money because buying these things are not cheap. The magic number to look for something very comfortable is having a drawing area of six by eight or a medium tablet. In most of other models, bottom line is getting a medium tablet will grow with you while you progress. Bottom line. You might not even hype when it comes to the brand. It's really up to your preference. I've always used the Wacom and I found them to be very good and have a very good reliability, but I decided to do that. Okay, we're almost done with this click. Obviously, before you buy, just read some reviews and make sure that it fits your needs. One of the biggest things that you need to know, for every tablet they have different pen and different designs. I think I might have to do some creative editing with this one for something that was not in the pro So for me going for something for me, so for me going for something that was not intended for professional, for what you want, it's very hard to go back. And Final thoughts, final thoughts. More expensive doesn't always mean better thoughts. Final expensive doesn't always mean better. A cheaper tablet can do exactly the same function as the expensive one. A cheaper tablet can do exactly the same function as the expensive one. The only difference is what you can do with it. The only difference is what you can do with it. The only difference is what you can do with it. Thank you so much for watching. If you made it this far and you're interested in optimizing things and becoming better, I've created a new discord server for like minded people. Okay, I'm going to add now we have almost like 9.5 minutes of footage. The next step is to go into the edit tab and remove all the imperfections and try and tie everything together. 7. Refining Clips Cut Tab: Okay, so in this module we're going to go ahead and refine the cut. So right now we have all of the clips. Basically, if you go in each of the cut or the edit, they're basically the same. And now we have all of the cut, little clips all tied together. But as we know, you noticed when we were cutting there are, some of them are not so refined, so you're going to see like my head bob and some of the endings do not match the beginnings in this module, we're going to go ahead and refine all of that. But to begin with we're going to do maybe a couple of clips with the cut, but we're going to do the majority with the edit. And I will show you why I prefer using this, but to start, let's go ahead in here. One of the things you're going to press is space to play if you're an artist or want to give digital art a try. Okay, In here I want to cut to cut. You can go ahead and press the cut bed, the split clip. You notice in here there is a sound. We basically want to cut in here and press cut again, or you can just control B. You want to remove this, you have two ways you can do control X to remove it and just remove and tie everything together. Or you can just click and press backspace. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet just for you. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly here, control and backspace, because if you choose the wrong one, it will actually slow your progress and status. There is another way if you have a clip. If you press shift and bracket, you can basically just remove everything from one side. Almost like you cut and delete all at the same time. Same thing with this one. Let's say if I go in, there is a beginning. If I do shift and the other brackett, basically you trim the clip from each of the sides. Let's go here in lightly, if you choose the wrong one, you will actually slow your progress and won't give you. We could do the same thing, shift. This will speed you up so much, instead of doing cut and then backspace, you just press shift bracket. And it does all of that for you. You can pretty much double your time rest won't give you a good experience. There is no doubt that you can create any art using any tools you have. You can even make art with a mouse. There is no doubt that you can mouse. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. There no doubt that. There is no doubt, oh, this is a repeating clip. Remove that. A good experience. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. Think I'm going to add a roll here. I'm going to do. Why hinder yourself? It's like, it's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking a plane. Using, using a stylus pin gives you precision and control. Because tablets right at the end, just go ahead and do that because tablets are pressure sensitive and can be adjusted to your needs. Because tablets are pressure sensitive while mice don't will give you. I think I want to remove this one, so I'm going to do that. Adjusted to your needs. This will give you a full control over your. This will give you, okay, so I said this, I'm going to do control B your needs. This will give you full control over your canvas. I'll make it very natural for you if there is a graph. If you notice that I press shift bracket, it doesn't do anything because I need to select the clip before trimming. Right now I have this clip selected, but I'm trying to trim from the left side, but I'm already on this side, right? So I have to click here and it just removed. It is a graph of improvement between using a mouse and a pen. It would look like this. The mouse look like this. The mouse will really give you a very linear progression. But the very linear progression, but the pen, however, like many of my friends, there's always this Aha moment that can give you from here all the way up to here. Because pressure sensitivity is very important and makes it a very natural progression when you're using it on your canvas. It makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Let's, let's go through approach the painting. Let's go through approach the painting. Approach the painting. Let's go through my set up. I'm currently using a Waco into medium. Let's dive into table. Let's dive into table works for me now that we adjusted some clips in the tab. Let me show you how you can do the same thing in the Edit tab. 8. Refining Clip Edit tab: So now that we're in the edit tab, you've already fixed the first 1 minute. And now I want to do the rest of the clips in here. First thing, first, the edit tab looks a little bit different and has a lot more tools. So let's start with the video right in here. If you click the inspector, you can go ahead and select so many different things. So let's just say if I click this clip, and in here, I can transform the clip. I can do a lot of different things. So I can change the Zoom, position, rotation, anchor points, and even the pitch. So you can do all of that. And you can also crop. If you click in here, you can crop left, right top, et cetera. You can also do dynamic Zoom. There's a lot of different things that you can do. And also, you can have the audio so you can change the volume. And you see in here when I changed the volume, it goes up and down. And you notice when I increase the volume, it also increased down here. So everything is very visual. Also in here, you get the same thing as the cut tab, you have all of your clips. One addition is now you have the toolbox that has effects. So if you click on this button, you can have a lot of different effects. So you can add just say title. So if I wanted to add a text on top, I can just drag and drop and add a text in there. Same thing with the generator, basically, if I wanted to add a solid color on top and then add the text, you can just do that. So it will go and transition from here to there. Works for me. I wanted something. Also, you have different effects, so you can do let me just show you one real quick. Okay. So see here, I can just add this and drag and drop, and now it added effect layer where I can do so many different controls. I can control the battery level. Just depends on what you are adding. And then if I say, I don't want it, I can just turn it off from here or even delete it. Okay? Also, for filters, you can have so many different ones, box blur and pretty much a lot of different things. Some of them are free to use and some of them require a license, but it's all up to you and your needs. I haven't had any issues with using the free version. Unless you're using a raw camera and you're using the cina cameras from Black Magic design, then you probably already have the pro version and can open up so many different things. And lastly, is the audio effects, we're going to cover on a different module because they really help out with so many different things. So now that we have the introduction out of the bat, let's go ahead and edit in this section. So one thing is very important is the bla tool where you can pretty much go ahead and cut a section out. And if you press the A, which is the selection, you can just go ahead and select and remove. But you notice that it doesn't go back, so you can just select this and press back space, and it'll move back. You can do the same thing with the clip. At the end, you can just select the clip first and then press shift and the bracket and it'll break it. So the only difference between the cut and the edit that you don't rely the cut tap kind of does an extra step for you that it shrinks all of the clips together, and it moves all of that with no gaps. But sometimes, especially when you have a lot of beer role, you don't want to have that dumb bio program for you. Sometimes you want to keep some breathing room or you want to have a gap for a beer role. If you give some effect to your video. So this is really good for the very first cut or rough cut of your video. But once you start to add a lot more beer role and effects, this kind of becomes you're pretty much like fighting against it. And that's why most of the time I'm using the editab to cut my clips and add all of the B roll because it's just more visual. One thing you want to always have is go into your audio levels and make sure that you can see the audio and increase the audio height. Especially when you're doing cuts, it's very important to see where the gaps are, and you can just click here and zoom and say, I already know that there are gaps in there, so I'm just going to cut and remove. So pretty much most of the time you don't really need to listen. It's just very visual for me. I can just go ahead and click the blade and cut rather than just listening to 20 minutes worth of footage. So it comes in handy, especially if you edit a lot and have all of that. So you already kind of know where you're at, especially for here. For the sake of the course, we're just going to go ahead and listen for everything and show you how you can utilize all of these tools. I wanted something that can fit inside my backpack without taking to my back. So I'm zooming really in there because I noticed that I bobbed my head without so I want to see where it. Okay. From here, so I'm just going to do that. Okay. PC. Without taking too much space. Without PC. Without taking too much space. I used to have an tus P five medium. And this thing was awesome, but the problem with it was very big and bulky, and it wasn't wireless outside of the box. And I wanted. So now you see the difference between these two types. In the edit tab, you have more precision, and it gives you a lot more control. And this kind of mimics the old times when they're editing the videos back in the day for the movies where they have the film strips, and they have to cut them and then merge them together. So this is basically the same way we're just doing it on the screen. And I wanted just something very simple. I wanted it to be compact and have wireless capabilities. Basically, visibility. Okay. I'm going to merge the Full visibility. Give me a full visibility. Okay. I need to remove a little bit more. Okay, I want to show you also something. So let's just say if I just wanted to move this clip back. Now, it's it merged. But however, when you actually go into the next clip, you created a gap. So that's why you always need to press the back space. Let's just say if you wanted to move from one clip, cut to another, press the up and down button, and then you can move between clips very easily. Basically visibility over my canvas. And using this gives me a full visibility over my canvas. Moving that. And using this And I really enjoy using it on photoshop and A Sprite because I'm using a PC. And I really enjoy using it on photoshop and Aprite. So I had that twice. I'm going to remove one of them. And I really enjoy do that. And all into any model. And all of that is basically. Basically, what you're trying to do is that table get an iPad. Basically, what you're trying to do is have that tablet to improve your productivity tenfold. For example, if you tenfold. For example, if you use in photoshop, get a tablet that can unlock the full potential of photoshop. But if you're also down photoshop. But if you're also down to learn new tools, that's completely up to you, especially if you're just starting out. So this area, I recorded it and I wanted to see if it can fit into the video. So I'm going to just mark that into something else. So I'm going to record this as a maybe, and my maybe is usually as this one looks very close. I'm going to do it as blue. Yeah. I think it fits to where it is, but I'm going to leave it now. For my case, I've been using photoshop for more than 18 years, so it makes sense for me to try and unlock the full potential rather than trying to learn something new. I think I can just do this. Learn something new and a smaller tap Usually when you buy. Usually when you get a smaller tap. But the biggest problem is usually when you buy I see like there is a big gap there. I want to very precise. One thing I didn't mention before is you see how it snaps is because of this. So if I don't have the I can move anywhere. But when you click the magnet, it kind of snaps to the end. And also this one. So this one has a very cool trick. So if I have this on, if I click this clip, it selects them both, selects the clip and the audio. But if I click this off and try and collect the audio, I can actually move the audio away from the clip, and you can see here it says, Oh, I'm plus 11 frames, and this is -11 frames, which we don't want in our case. But sometimes when you're doing something with B roll, you want stuff to have a different effect. It just depends on what you're editing. For now, I'm going to turn it back on. Miss, usually when you buy the small tablet, your natural progression is to skip the medium and go for a large. I wanted to add a picture of a large tablet. So for here, one way that you can mark your clips is by clicking this button and you add a marker or press M. In here, if you just double click, you can just say large. But if you in a medium. Okay. So one thing you can do is you see those two buttons. They basically do this same effect. If I just drag, I can move the clip and cut it. And same thing with here. So if I wanted to move this. Basically, if you have a trim line and you move if you click in here, it automatically takes this clip and adds and trims this clip. So these two do the same function, but you don't use them because it's just so intuitive to just do them on the cutting board. This will also save you a lot of money because buying these things are not cheap. We're going to do that again. But I still prefer using the blade because it's so much faster, they're not cheap. So the magic number to look for something very comfortable is having a drawing area of six by eight or a median tablet in. Let's go that by eight or a median tablet in most of other models. Models. So bottom line. Okay. So this one I'm looking down. Models. So bottom line. I think I'm going to add so I'm going to add something here for creative editing because this cut is very harsh. So I'm going to add this actually let's make it as pink, and I'll show you later on how we can mask all of this issues models. So, bottom line is getting a medium tablet Let's just do it this way. It really. It's just this one. Getting a medium tablet will grow with you while you progress. You progress. Bottom line, you might not even need to upgrade it anymore. Everything. I'm not sure if I want to keep this clip in there, so I'm just going to see if it fits the narrative. I'm going to do that as pink. 20 years. So I've never had a reason to go higher or bigger because this always fits everything that I need. That I need. And when it comes to the brand, it's really up to your preference. I've always used the Wacom, and I found them to be very good and have a very good reliability. But you might be opting for Okay. Even though the clip kind of flows, but sometimes I don't want to have a lot of pauses, so you can just go there. A very good reliability. But you might be and you see, it doesn't It doesn't actually look distracting, and it just kind of helps the flow and keeps the sentence flowing. So don't feel shy to improve your clips further by cutting, it's completely normal reliability. But you might be opting for something else. As long as the as long thing else. As long as the size is the same, you don't really need to care so much about a model because at the end of the day, it's a table. At the end of the day, at the day, it's a tablet. At the end of the day, it's a tablet. At the end of the day, it's a model because at the end of the day, it's a tablet with a stylus and you just need to use it as a tool. As a tool. Obviously, before you buy, just read some reviews and make sure that it fits your needs. And one of the biggest things that you need to know is for every for every tablet, they have different pen and different Maybe for this one, I can just is for every to know is for every tablet, they have different pen and different designs. So let's say the one I'm using is the WAC the one I'm using Let's the one I'm using is the Wales say for Okay. Designs. So for the one I'm using I'm using the ACA medium, and basically, the pen that comes with it has two buttons. Just go to mark this. I'm not sure if I want to remove it or not. And it doesn't come with an eraser. And this could be a deal breaker for eraser. And this could be a deal breaker for a lot of people because the eraser. And this could be a deal breaker for a lot of people because the Waco because the Waco of people because the that was for me to for me, it. So for me, go to it. So, I notice in here, I kind of cut off that beginning. I want to give it maybe four frames extra. So I click three times and a drag. Just get that in, zoom out a little bit. Don't need it. So for me going for something that was not intended for professionals Yeah, that sounds a lot better. Professionals actually fit Did not really affect me Having buttons did not really affect me at all, did not really affect me at all, but it all depends on what you want. And again, I keep saying that, and again, I want and I might remove this. And again, I keep saying that, like, get What you want getting something that you absolutely want is very important because every tablet has something different. So if it's very important for you, has something different. But But some took it up and read read the And read the reviews because once you get the table. Because once you get the tablet and it's not fit for what you want, it's very hard to go back. Final thoughts. Final thoughts. More expensive doesn't always mean better. Final thought. Thoughts. More expensive doesn't always mean better. Okay. I like this version It's always a good idea to record multiple times and multiple lines to see which one fits the whole clip just like this one. Thoughts. More expensive doesn't always mean better. A cheaper tablet can do exactly the same function as the expensive one. The only difference is expensive one. The only difference is what you can do with it. The only difference is what you can do with it. Okay. It's one of those decisions again. One. The only difference is what you can do with it. The only difference, it's what you can do with it. Okay. I like my body language in this one, so I'm going to use that instead of one. The only difference, it's what you can do with it. If you made it this far and you're interested in optimizing things and becoming better. I've interested in I noticed that I paused there for a few seconds for not even it's just two frames, and it's bothering me. So I want to see if that would improve it. You're interested in optle bit. So do that. And it's also in the end of the video so interested in optimizing things and becoming better. Thank you so much. And remember, take it one day at a time and I'll see you in the next video. All right. So this concludes the it next we're going to go ahead and add a little bit more. 9. Adding Pictures & Key Frames: Now it's time to add the role. And you'll notice that Be Role plays a very important element in your video. Not only does it help with your narrative, it also improves your storytelling. And we're going to do that with our clips. So first of all, be roll is not just a video, It can also be pictures, it can be text. It can be a very creative way to add like pauses and add all of that together to make a cohesive message. We already identified a few moments that we wanted to add be role, but when you notice when we were editing, sometimes you want to add more and adding more is still okay. So we're going to play along and add them as we go. So we have like a seven minute clip and we'll see how many bro can add or want to give digital art to try. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet just for you. I think in here one of the things is you can add a lot of text, but we're going to add text in a different model for this one. We're just going to only focus on adding pictures and video identify that I want to add a text, so I'm just going to make color. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Because if you choose the wrong one, you will actually slow your progress and won't give you a good experience. There is no doubt that. Okay, here I want to add some. You're just going to go in and select all of the ball that I want. I'm just going to drag it in here. I wanted to add four pictures. I'm going to zoom in a little bit. So first of all, I wanted to have display, but if we just play it the way it is when we just drag and drop, this is how it's going to look like. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse, but why hinder yourself? It's like trying to go from the East Coast to, okay, this looks very chaotic. I wanted to have the one with some graphics, and this is a gift file, by the way, I wanted to have that first. There is no doubt that. But here's one thing. I noticed, when I imported that gift file, it played very fast when you play it on your computer. It actually doesn't play fast sometimes when you import it, because this is playing at 24 frames per second. When you're saving a gift online or you're creating something online, it might have a different frame rate. What I'm trying to do is I'm trying to manipulate the frame rates of the picture to match my project. I know that this one was probably taken at 60 frames per second. So I'm going to go in here, right click and change a clip speed. This is a magic number that I found to work like 90% of a time. If I do the speed at 40% for a gift file, it usually plays it very well. Then let's say play. But you notice that it actually didn't extend the clip, it only got it caught off. What you can do is you can drag, because now I increase the clip by 60% There is no doubt that you can create digital art. There we go. So we're going to do that using, let's just drag these away. I want this one to be 1 second. What I'm going to do is going to press Shift and write arrow key. That will give me 1 second. Drag this one, I'm going to do the same for the other one, 1 second. And the last one also 1 second. Okay. Now let's play it. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse, but why hinder yourself? It's like trying. Okay, now is the next thing that we want to do. You see that on the side, It's not really filling up the frame. What we can do is we can select a clip and maybe zoom in a little bit. So you can either enter any digits or you can just drag until it fills it up. And I can go into y direction and do it this way. No, no doubt that you can create digital art. I think that looks fine. But for here, I don't want it to cut off the next clip so much. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to try and drag. Like really, I don't care about the extra frames in here. I just wanted to all fit. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. But why hinder yourself? Great, go to the next one. Maybe we can try something a little different here. Let's just zoom it a little bit. This is a key frame, basically, wherever you have your cursor, this is where it's going to start. Let's just say I want the picture to move from up to down. I'm just going to move it back to where it was and click the key frame. Let's just move it all the way to the end. I'm going to click one time with the arrow button to go one frame. I just want to move that all the way down here. Okay, That's basically it. What I have done is I've moved it from zero all the way to 104 art using a mouth. I want to do the same thing for this one, but I want to move it from left to right. Let's do that again. I want to zoom in, let's just zoom into here. And I want to show you something else. And I'll do an X, let's just see at the beginning. And now I want to move it to here, for example. There we go. But I think it's moving so fast. Don't make the mistake where you can just move it back. Because when you do that, look what's going to happen. Why hinder it skips the end. What you always want to do when you play with the key frames is to always reset and start over because it's just the cleanest way to do the animation. It will stop you from making any unnecessary mistakes. Let's start from the beginning. I just wanted to be in here. Press this, what? And at the end, I don't want it to move too much, just this much for this one. I wanted to maybe zoom in a little bit. We're going to do the same thing with that key frame. We're going to start from here towards the end. I don't want it to be too much, just zoom it just so slightly hinder yourself. Okay. But in here you can actually see the background. What we can do is we can move that clip up. Remember this is all about layers. I moved it two times and I can click on the generator. Okay, I want to add a solid color to the back. You see that this is extended all the way, which I don't want. I'm going to go in here, shift bracket. What that going to do is going to add a black background right underneath this one. If I remove it. See, there we go. So let's play it all together. Now, variance, there is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse, but why hinder yourself? It's like that looks very good. Second one is in here. It's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking a plane. I had the idea of adding a map so it can go from the east coast to the west coast. Let's do that. It's from okay, I'm going to go into settings. I don't want to zoom out slightly a little bit. That's good enough to go from the East coast. I also added this one which is another the East Coast to what we can do is we can just extend it all the way back. But maybe in here it's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by the walking instead of taking the plane. Okay, So you see that I have from the right side to the left side to the east coast to the west coast, but it still needs something extra. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to add a picture that someone is walking from left to right. And also I'm going to add a plane from left to right. Okay. Also just to make this match, I'm going to do it from here. Maybe it's like. From here it's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking a plane. Okay, one other thing is we can also do a cropping from left to right. So let's just see, I selected this one, which is the line, and I want it to appear from left, from the right to left. So what we're going to do is can do this, and I can click the key frame from here, the east coast to the west coast. And I wanted to stop at the west coast. When we say west coast, I wanted to do all the way here when we play that all together. The East Coast to the west coast. Okay. Now I wanted to add something. I'm going to show you two different ways you can add animated pictures. Let's just say for example, we have this gift, okay, go to put it on top. You can do it here. Remember, you can always either drag it to the left or you can just drag it directly on your timeline. Whatever works for you. I have one where it's actually flying. If you look at it, it's like flying. I also wanted to add, this is the second way you can add a picture. You can have a sequence of a picture. I have dock walk 12345678, Right. And I can just drag that altogether and diving resolve automatically puts them in as different frames. So if I move it, it's just moving. And that's just one of the other ways that diviner resolve automatically has this capability to accept sequences as long as they have the same name structure. I want to add those to the file solicit. I wanted to have that walking right east coast to the west coast, trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking. I want to have that in walking and I'm going to do the same thing. Go to clip speed 40% I want to zoom in a little bit and move it. I think this is too big, so I'm going to do 50% or maybe a little bit less. So let's just move it around, Okay, 0.4 look good. I'll move that here. I can also flip it and we're going to use the same key frame to move it from one side to the other. Okay? We're going to do that for this one too. But let's just do one at a time walking instead of taking it, okay? But let's just say for example, I want to extend it, and this is the most I can extend it. I can move it from left to right taking walking instead, but it's walking so fast. I want to add two different clips. I wanted to make it larger. So basically it's just like that plane. I copy pasted the clip three times. How do you think we can make a key frame that works for all of them? Well, let's just give it a try. When you click all of them, the keyframe button goes away. The way around it is you can actually combine clips together so you can do animation for the whole thing. I selected these three clips. Actually, I'm just going to add one more clip just in case if I needed to do more. Now I can just do right click and I can say create this as a new compound clip. I call this one walking and it automatically adds it into your time frame and also into your media. Anytime I can just drag and drop this one, it's always look like that. I'm going to remove it by walking. Now I can just do that walking animation. Now from here, I wanted to walk, walking instead of taking a plane. Okay, I wanted to go all the way maybe to here because it's slow by walking instead of taking a plane. Okay, now we're going to do the same thing for the plane. Walking instead of a plane. We're going to do the same thing. We can repeat that to change clip speed and expand in a plane. In a plane instead of a plan. Lucky for us, this clip is actually short. We don't need to do much. Okay, we're going to repeat that. We call it 0.4 it matches, flip it. I want a starting point to be from here and go up. Let's just do the key frame from here all the way to the end. So I wanted to go fast. Okay, let's play that all together now. It's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking a plane, using a step. Okay, Using a state. Now we're started a new clip. One way you can do is like you can drag all these back. But when you do that, see what happens here. Like it cut it off. Dragging a clip that don't have the same ending can cause a lot of problems. What you can do is you can select all the clips, Click shift and bracket you trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking a plane. Using a state plane. Okay. But I can think I can do something better. I think I made a mistake with this one. Let's just go again. That's just part of editing. I wanted to actually get out of the frame. I'm going to do it from here towards the end of the frame. I actually wanted to go out, let's play that again using a style, taking a plane. Okay, now we're good. We just successfully added two segments with pictures. Really, moving forward, we're going to look into how to add video. 10. Adding Video B Roll: Now we go back to our folder. I have a folder full of roll, we can do the same thing, can drag and drop, and have them already. Usually when you drop a lot of clips into the Vini just gives a few minutes to catch up and loads all of them Using a stylus pin gives you precision and control because tabs are pressure sensitive. Okay, In this one I want to add something with a bro where I'm actually, let me show you one way you can double click if any clip, you can see it in here, but how do you get your timeline? So you can just click on the inspector and remove it. Now we have both clips. You click here, you can see, but in here you can just double click to double check all of your other bro, the bureau I'm looking for is Meek actually writing on the stylus. Okay, so we're going to do that. But notice what happens when you drop a clip. You actually drop the clip and also drop the audio with it. And when you put the audio, it actually automatically puts it there, and we don't want to do that. One trick that you can do is when you drag the clip, drag it and put it down where you want the audio to be, because bottom line is, I don't really want the audio from my bureaus. You can do two things. You either can go into the audio of the bureau and go to the inspector audio, go down with the volume all the way you don't hear it. Or the easier way is you can keep all of your role on the same layer and then just mute that layer. You don't have to worry about it, even if you accidentally drop the clip and you forgot to mute it manually by default having it on the same layer and clicking that mute button, You don't have to worry. No, whatsoever. Using a stylus pin gives you precision and control. Because tabs are pressure sensitive and can be adjusted to your needs, this will give you full control and you see me like, I'm just trying to find out what is the best angle over your canvas. Okay, I think this is the starting point control. I want to strategically put it in so I can hide that cut. You see that? Like the cut when that happens control, because this is one way that you can hide all of these cuts, precision and control, because tablists are pressure sensitive and can be adjusted to your needs. Okay. And then when I can end that clip in here, I can start the next one. This will give you full control over your canvas. I'll make it very natural for you if there is a graph of improvement. Okay, Next, I wanted to add the graph. I already have that in here. If there is a graph of improvement, we can use the same thing as before, where we can animate the picture. What we're going to do is like I wanted to show up from bottom up and from left to right. Let's just do that. I will start from cropping the top click this one, and then also cropping the right click in here of improvement between, if there is a graph of improvement between. Okay, And I'm going to stop it in between. So let's just start here, and this is our other one. Okay? Let's play that and see how it looks. If there is a graph of improvement between, it looks very smooth now, of improvement between using a mouse and a pen, it would look like this. I have a mouse graph of improvement between using a mouse, improvement between using a mouse. Okay, I want that to show up. When I say mouse, between using a mouse and a pen and a pen, it will be like this one. And using a mouse and a pen, it would look like this. The mouse will really give you the. When I talk about the mouse, I want the, let's just say what we can do. How about we control the opacity? So we can say, I want to start from here to show us 100. And here to go down in opacity mouse and a pen. It would look like this. The mouse will give you a very linear progression. But let's just extend these three all the way to the end. And we can play around with them. Really give you a very linear progression, but okay. Okay, so now when we wanted to do the pen, so what I can do, I want to add a marker here. So I pressed M just to know where I said the M and I want the opacity of the pen to show. So let's just go in here. Here. I'm going to Progression. And I'm going to click from here, all the way to here. And then go all the way, 100% Let's see how that plays. The mouse will really give you like a very linear progression. But the pen, however, okay, I'm going to do the same exact starting point of the pen. I want the line to go down in opacity. I pressed the, selected the mouse graph opacity and I'm going to skip to the end. And I'll do 14% just to keep it the same. Let's play it altogether. Improvement between using a mouse and a pen, it would look like this. The mouse will really give you a very linear progression. But the pen, however, like many of my friends, there's always this Aha moment that can give you from here all the way up to here. Because pressure sensitivity is very important and makes it a very natural progression when you're using it on your canvas. It makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Let's go through my set up in here. I have another bro, let's just go back to the inspector and see which one. Okay, I think that's the video, we're going to drag it. It makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Let's go through my set up. I want to add it. As soon as I say set up, I'm currently using a Wacom into a medium. Let's dive into why this tablet works for me. I know this clip is large, so I have a few takes where I did some effects. So I want to just cut that in here and I think that could work. Let's go through my set up. Okay, I'm currently using a wake. Oh, I made a mistake here. Okay, I'm currently using into medium. Let's dive into why the tablet works for me. My idea was like, when I say, when I wa into medium, I wanted the light to show up. I'm in medium, so I'm going to press M in here. Okay, here's another trick that you can line up two markers together. When you click on the time line, you can create a marker on the timeline. But if you click on the clip and press M, you can create a marker on the clip itself. So let's do that medium. Let's dive into, okay, you see that in here I have a marker. If I move them automatically snaps. Let's just try and that and do it from the start. I'm going to just cut this a little short. Let's go through my set up. I'm currently using a Wacom into a medium. Let's dive into why the tablet works for me. Great, this is exactly what I'm looking for. My set up, maybe I'm just going to rack it. I don't like the way I'm looking down. So I'm just going to this back. Let's go through my set up. I'm currently using a Wacom into a medium. Let's dive into why this tablet works for me. I wanted something that can fit inside my backpack. Okay. I also plan to have a video of me with my backpack. Put that in there can fit inside my back, back my backpack without taking too much space I used to have. Taking too much. What I can do is that I can cut that a little bit fit inside my. Okay, I'm just going to press in here because this is always the start where I want to add that backpack without taking too much space. And then when I start the next clip, I want to cut that fit inside my backpack without taking too much space. I used to have an into, I think it cut too soon, so I'm just going to give it maybe a few more. I got a few more frames that can fit inside my backpack without taking too much space. I used to have an Intuus Pro five medium, and this thing was awesome. But the problem with it was very big and bulky. And it wasn't wireless outside of the box. The box. And I wanted just something very simple, okay? I want to add something here. And I wanted, I wanted something very simple. Okay. I think this is good. Just something very simple. I wanted it to be compact. Great help, put that back outside of the box. And I wanted just something very simple. I wanted it to be compact and have wireless capabilities basically. So I can take it basically, so I can take it anywhere from a coffee shop to a co working space. But you might ask, why don't I use an ipad rather than, Okay, now I'm talking about a different ipad. Let's just drag and drop that ipad in here. But you might ask, why don't I use an ipad, Use an I'm going to do a marker where I say ipad. Why don't I use an ipad, An ipad rather than this one? Okay, here we go. Cut that short and start from here. Might ask, why don't I use an ipad rather than this one, even though the ipad might have a lot more capabilities because of the screen for me. At least I just don't enjoy me. At least I just don't enjoy drawing on a screen. I don't like to have half of my canvas obstructed with my hand. Using this gives me a full visibility over my canvas and I can just move anywhere I want. This works for my workflow, and I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and a Sprite. Okay, I want to add another, my grand advice is Workflow. Add this one. I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and Sprite. So here we go. My grand advice is, look for your wants and needs before you're looking into any model. And all of that is based on the tools that you're using on a daily basis. For example, if you're using Photoshop, then having a tablet is very important for I'm going to add a picture of Photoshop. Just going to drag and drop that in here. You're using on a daily basis. For example, if you use Photoshop, example, if you use in Photoshop, okay, I'm just going to click that and make it small. Move it to the left for example. If you use in Photoshop, then having a tablet is very important for you. But if you're using a lot of stuff with an IOS, I'm going to add procreate. Because this is one of the main things put IOS, I want to really make it match. What I can do is I can just go manually add those parameters or I can do something very clever. I can just do control C. Basically, I'm copying everything in here. But instead of control V, where you paste, you can do a V. When you click Alt V, it actually gives you pasting the attributes, You can select which attributes you want to paste. So I can do the zoom deposition, right? Basically, I can just select that from here. Basically we want to do the zoom, we can do the. Positions, right? No cropping or you can just do everything and it just applies everything for you. And there we go for you. But if you're using a lot of stuff with an IOS ecosystem and you're using procreate, then it makes sense to get an ipad. Basically, what you're trying to do is have that tablet to improve your productivity tenfold. For example, if you're using Photoshop, get a tablet that can unlock the full potential of Photoshop. But if you're also down to learn new tools, that's completely up to you, especially if you just start your productivity tenfold. Okay, so I decided that I was going to actually remove this from the clip because it doesn't add any value. And I repeated that previously. So I'm going to remove this and go back to improve your productivity tenfold, especially if you're just starting out for my case I've been using. And in here tenfold, what I'm going to do for this one, we're going to add a text later that kind of masks this effect is having a drawing area of six x eight or. And in here we'll also add text. So most of these we're going to do some creative ways to do a different kind of attention seeking edit to help keep your viewer engaged, but that will be in the future module. Medium tablet, I think I want to edit this dim tablet will grow with you while you progress. You might not even tablet getting a medium tablet will grow models. So bottom line is getting a medium tablet. Most of other models getting a medium tablet. I'm going to remove this one actually. Of other models, getting a medium tablet will grow with you while you progress. And bottom line, you might not even need to upgrade it anymore. Okay, I think that sounds a lot better. I've always used that medium tablet for the past 20 years. In here, I want to add another video. Let's see. Okay, so basically it's from here ends here. To upgrade it anymore. I've always used that medium tablet for the past 20 years, I've never had a reason to go higher or bigger because this always fits everything that I need when it comes to the brand. Okay, I'm going to add another one. You notice in here, I don't really need to put two together. I can just hover. It will just show up automatically. It's also up to your preference. How you want it to show fits everything that I need. When it comes to the brand, it's really up to your preference. I always the Wacom and I found them to be good and have a very good reliability. This was not the best clip. Let's just try this one instead. Yeah, this one is longer. Really up to your preference. I've always used the Wacom and I found them to be. It's really up to your preference. I've always used the way, okay, you can see like we're always trying to finesse and make sure that it fits. That's just a whole part of the process I've always used the way. I want to add another video that I took to see. Okay, I want to add this video for every tablet, they have different pen and different designs. For the one I'm using, I'm using the wa, medium. And basically, the pen that comes with it has two buttons and it doesn't come with an eraser. This could be a deal breaker for a lot of people because the wa models come with an eraser. This doesn't, They have different pen and different designs for the one I'm using, I'm using the Waka medium. And basically the pen that comes with it has two buttons and it doesn't come with an eraser. And this could be a deal breaker for a lot of people because the Wack Pro models come with the buttons. Now I want to add another video. I didn't really care so much about the buttons. Having buttons did not really affect me at all. I care so much about the buttons. Buttons did not really affect me at all, But it all depends on what you want. Getting something that you absolutely want is very important because every tablet has something different. If it's very important for you to okay, I'm going to remove this. I think that was not intended for here, let's listen. More than six buttons on the tablet then that is your non negotiable, say have the off button. Let's just say I'm not going to consider that as a button. Let's just say for example, for what I'm using, I have the off button. So we're not even going to consider that as a button. So I talk about the on off button. So I marked it in here. I don't want to match it. What I'm saying, the on off button. Okay. I do the same thing. So now they're matching display. That is your non negotiable, let's just say for example what I'm using. So I have the on off button so that we're not even going to consider that as a button. And there are four buttons, two on each side. I'm basically using the ones on the right is to skip tracks if I'm listening to music, and one to rewind the track. And the other one is basically for just selecting the display and that's it. But some tablets have like a ring where you can. One thing I want to do is like, I notice that I have a little pause. I can just maybe remove this from here. I want to make sure that I can match. There we go. Perfect. Just like little changes like that can make a big difference. Skip tracks if I'm listening to music and one to rewind the track. And the other one is basically for just selecting the display and that's it. But some tablets have this is one of the passive way you can add clips and images to your video. Next we're going to go through how to add text and do some creative editing. 11. Adding Text and creative editing: In this module, we're going to go through adding text and doing some creative editing. So let's get started. If you're an artist who want to give digital art to try this video will go through, okay. First thing is with the creative editing, you'll notice a lot of videos that kind of zoom in and out to keep your engagement. Otherwise, this will be a full 15 second of just rambling about stuff with how the algorithm works and how the engagement works for nowadays is like you have to keep changing and keeping the viewer engaged on the screen as much as possible. So the rule of thumb is like every 3 seconds, three to 4 seconds, you want to have something on the screen if it's a movement or a text, et cetera. And that would way to keep the maximum engagement on your video. I want to give digital art to try for here. We're going to do a small simple zoom when you play to try this video. To try this video, okay, so that would be the first edit. However, one thing that you will notice that if you keep doing the zoom in and out, the eye level doesn't really move when you zoom in. So let's say if I zoom in 1.5 see like my eye level is over here. But the original clip was over there. This could be a little jarring. One way to work around it is that we have to adjust the position. This video, obviously this is a two zoomed in. We don't want that. But what we can do is we can create a line of sight. We can just go down a little bit. Now when you zoom in, it just looks very snappy and quick, hard to try. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet just for you choosing. And the same thing we can do, one zoom in one, zoomed in one, zoomed in one, not zoomed in. And you can keep that momentum going for all of your clips. But I noticed something here. When I o in and out, you see the eye was not moving. I think it's a good idea to zoom in this one a little bit more to match my eyesight is over here. I'm going to just go slightly down. Okay, so you play that just for you. Choosing your first drawing tablet is just for you to try. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet, just for you or first. Okay, so this will be one way. The second way is to break this whole momentum with text. Let's just go through texts. We're going to go through the titles and add a dragon drop. Okay, you first, I want to add exactly what I'm saying. Choosing your first drawing tablet. I say first drawing tablet. Choosing your first drawing tablet. What I want to do is I want to add, were going to get a generator and do a solid color and do a very hard, it's going to be something like this. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be. That's one way to do it. Another way to do it, let's just say choosing your first drawing tablet, you can make the text show up as you say it. Choosing your first, I have choosing your first and then drawing tablet. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to cut this in half there. For the first half, I'm going to just remove this and add space. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important, and you see that how it works. But what happens if I don't put that space in there? If I go back your first draw, see what happens. First, draw the line, move down, and it could be a little jarring. What we do is you're trying to match exactly how you had the structure for here. I actually had one line and the second line here. I also want to add the same thing, that's why I added an enter. When you do that, it just matches very quickly. You can also you. For me, I just want to add this font, for example, or first draw. And I want to add the same font for this one as well. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Because if you choose the wrong one, now that we have this one, we actually don't need to add the zoom. So let's just re adjust, choosing your first drawing tablet is very. And that's one way to kind of reset the viewer's eyes because now we're not looking at the eyes anymore. It kind of like cut it and then you have a fresh, clean slate. So that could be a way to cut and direct your viewer's eye to what you want them to see. In 8 seconds, we had 123, so that's like three different cuts that will keep the engagement for a little longer. And as you understand, like Youtube values the very first 30 seconds of any video, so you have to have a lot of engagement. And it's part of the metrics that they evaluate your videos on. It's very important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Because if you, so we can do the same thing. You don't have to be perfect. Because if you choose the wrong one, you will actually slow your progress and won't give you a good experience. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. But why hinder yourself? It's, and one thing I noticed that this zoom was a little fast, so we're just going to edit that later. Hinder yourself. But you can always go and rewatch your videos multiple times and see how you can improve it. It's like trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking instead of taking a plane. Using a stylus pin gives you precision and control. Because tablets are pressure sensitive and can be adjusted to your needs, this will give you full control over your canvas. I'll make it very natural for you if there is a for this one, I want to add some text. If there is a graph or maybe not, we can just do this. Instead, I'm going to move this slightly to the left so it matches if there is a graph. Also, notice there is a big gap in here. I'm going to try and remove that. Nudge it, remove it. Well, let's play that. Very natural for you, if there is a graph of improvement and you'll notice like when there is a gap in the beginning, this effect doesn't really work. So it has to start with the talking. So let's just do that for you. If there was a graph of improvement, see how snappy that was. It just makes a big difference for you. If there always a graph of improvement between using a mouse and a pen, it would look like this. The mouse will really give you a very linear progression. But the pen, however, like many of my friends, there's always this Aha moment that can give you from here all the way up to here. Because pressure sensitivity is very important and makes it a very natural progression when you're using it on your canvas. And it makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Okay, so for this one I want to add a text as well. It makes a huge difference. So let's add that. What you can do is that you can do degenerator again and copy and add this, and then add the title. But I found it easier to have your text already copied. So you can have the same layout, in the same font, everything. You don't need to redo it over and over and over again. Now, I copied this one. I can just paste it here. And I can just type it. It makes a huge on your canvas and it makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. And it makes a huge difference. So we're just going to do that in the way it makes a huge difference in the way you approach, You see like, I'm not like copy pasting, I'm just basically having the text all the way and then using the cut tool to edit. And it's just a faster way to do it in the way you approach the painting. Let's play that. It makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting, approach it. I noticed in here, I said that it started one frame late. So we can do that. If you wanted to have it to pack a punch, you can just increase. It Makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Just to emphasize the importance of that, what you can do if you want to sp it more, you can just do the same thing where you can split that. Let's do that. It makes it a huge difference. Okay, let's try. It makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Let's go through my set up. I'm currently using a Wacom into medium. Let's dive into why this tablet works for me. I wanted something that can fit inside my backpack without taking too much space. I used to have an into five medium. I want to do something here where I can say five medium. I want to put it in text at the bottom. Let's do that. Let's just grab a text and start over because this will be a little different. I wanted to have the same font in. Okay, have an into Us pro five medium. And this you can do that in two ways. You can move it in two different ways. You can go to the setting and this will be the universal setting that you can get with any clip. However, in the title, you can do other elements and other editing. In here you can control the size. I want it to be smaller. You can also do tracking, but we're not going to use that. You can even do line spacing, we're not going to do any of that. You can do this if you want it to be, but for the sake of this video, we just want to adjust the position and maybe give it a little bit of outline. If you scroll all the way down, you can do an outline and you can just do a height, you can do a radius. I'm going to change the color just for demonstration, for you to see what I'm working on. Basically, you can adjust the height. Actually select a different color. I'm going to just do red, like this. You can adjust the height of it. You can adjust the corner, the center, even the opacity. But I want it to be actually black so it doesn't interfere with anything. Let's play that again. Have to pro five medium. This thing was awesome, but maybe it's a good idea to extend it. Let's see into and perhaps move it down slightly pro five medium. This thing was awesome. You can do the same thing as we did before. Every time you say something pro, you can just 55 medium. It's always a good idea to look at the sound and look at the sound wave, every one is where it starts. This will give you a very good visual feedback if you're doing it right. Let's just go into the title into us. But here's one of the things. You can do it this way, where you can just remove or you can go into the settings and crop. Now we know that I said into us, I'm going to crop from the right into us. Then go in here, crop from the right five. Basically, you have so many different ways to create the same effect. This will give you full freedom of how you want to explore that have an into pro five medium. And this thing was awesome, but the problem with it was very big and bulky. And it wasn't wireless outside of the box. And I wanted just something very simple. I wanted it to be compact and have wireless capabilities basically. So I can take it anywhere from a coffee shop to a co working space anywhere. Okay, so I wanted to emphasize on the word anywhere. So let's just do a zoom this time. We're going to do a dynamic zoom. So we're going to go into the clip and click on the key frame. Anywhere. Okay. So this is where I say anywhere. So I want to do 1.15 so just do that basically. So I can take it anywhere from a coffee shop to a co working space. But you might ask what? Okay, in here you notice that there is a bit of a gap and it doesn't look good, so we're just going to remove that 1.2 back space. Back space. You might ask, why don't space? I want to get this into a little bit of a zoom as well to start, just to change it up a little bit. My eye is over here, so let's just move it down. And move it to the right slightly. I know I'm closing my eyes, but maybe that's something we can work on in space. But you might ask, why do in space? But you might ask, why don't I use an ipad rather than this? This is one thing as you can do. You can also add another text in here. You can say, but just to change it up, let's just try that. Just for the sake of this video, I'm just going to paste again because I already have it copied from before. Select the title, go into this and just say, but, but I want the butt to be big. No pun intended. But you might add, but you might. But you might ask, why don't, why don't, why don't I? Okay. So in here, let's just expand this here. But you might ask, why don't I use an ipad rather than this one? Even though the ipad might have a lot more capabilities because of the screen. It's really up to you if I wanted to keep it all the way to here or I wanted just to cut it. That's also up to how you want to edit your video, but for now I'm going to keep it there. Maybe watch it a few times and see if I wanted to add or expand it or maybe even review it altogether. But the thing is, for me at least, I just don't enjoy drawing on a screen I don't like to have, since this is a very longer clip, I'm going to do the same thing. But instead of doing, let's just do a dynamic zoom actually. But this time we're going to also do a dynamic position. I wanted to move the eye to where it was before. I don't. Let's just do 1.1, so it zooms out. I don't like to have half of my canvas obstructed with my hand. And using this, you notice like in here, it shifted so hard. So we're going to do something different here. Let's zoom this one up to 1.2, Go down and go to the right. To make it match, we need to go down slightly more with my hand. Using this gives me a full visibility over my canvas and I can just move anywhere I want. This works for my workflow. I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and a sprite. I'm thinking about adding another video in here. So I'm going to link this and add a clip color just to remind myself that I need to add this, but for the time being, I'm going to add a text. This works for. And we'll do the same thing where instead of saying but I'm going to say this. So do the same. So this works for my workflow. I can say this works for my, this works for my workflow. And we can do it this way. This for my, maybe we can just do it this way. Works for my workflow. As I'm going to show you, you can do the same thing now. Instead of removing this, I can just go ahead and crop the bottom. Yeah, there we go. This works for my workflow and I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and a Sprite. My grand advice is, look for your wants and needs before you're looking into any model. All of that is based on the tools that you're using on a daily basis. For example, if you're using Photoshop, then having a tablet is very important for you. But if you're using a lot of stuff with an IOS ecosystem and you're using procreate, then it makes sense to get an ipad. Basically, what you're trying to do is that tablet to improve your product. We're going to do a different effect now. We're going to try and zoom in and then zoom out. Let's go with this one. What you're trying to do, I want to do like 1.1 Have that tablet to improve your product. Then product in here, we're going to go all the way down to one. So let's see how that looks. Basically what you're trying to do is have that tablet to improve your productivity tenfold, Especially if you, okay, especially in here. I have a very bad cut told. The only way around it is to actually add that text again. So let's just do that. We do, especially especially if the tenfold, especially if you're just starting out. For my case, I've been using Photoshop, so maybe this one we can start it as 1.2 to give us a little bit more control. Okay, this is perfect. Now for my case, I've been using Photoshop for more than 18 years, so it makes sense for me to try and unlock the full potential, rather than trying to learn something new. And one of the big in here, we can just do one where it actually zooms all the way out to one. Let's do that to try and unlock the full potential, rather than trying to learn something new. One thing I forgot to do, let's just press control that a couple of times, is I wanted to also change the height when we go here. I want it to be one. I want this one to be zero. Let's see how that looks. To try and unlock the full potential rather than trying to learn something new. And one of the biggest mistake I see a lot of people doing is buying a small tablet first because they're thinking that they can in here. Instead of zooming in with the dolly. I just wanted to have a hard cut because let's just do that for the sake. Okay, tablet first, because they're thinking that they can outgrow it and progress to something new and get something bigger. But the problem, usually when you buy the small tablet, your natural progression is to skip the medium and go for a large. But if you buy the big new and get something bigger, might actually remove this part. And let's see how that sounds. I'm going to remove it and see it, but the biggest problem is but. And get something bigger. And remove this one too. Okay, I just want to get to the point new and get something bigger. But if you okay, remove that little gap and bigger. But if you buy the medium right off the bat, you pretty much don't need to buy anything else. Because I think I want to emphasize this a lot more. So I'm going to do, I'm going to do 1.2 So it's going to zoom in very quickly. Don't need to buy anything else, because this one will let you grow with it. You pretty much have all the range of motion that you. And then in here, I just wanted to o out slowly, all the way to here. So let's just go one, you grow with it and you pretty much have all the range of motion that you could need from a tablet. Unless you're a professional and that's something that you absolutely need for your work, then I don't see any purpose of getting anything larger than a medium. This will also save. Okay. Now, with that, I can just go one, let's just go down. Thing larger than a medium. This is a little bit of, yeah, it's not bad thing larger than a medium. This will also save you a lot of money because buying these things are not cheap. The magic number to look for something very comfortable is hap, I want to zoom in a lot more in this one cheap. Okay, so the magic number to look for something very comfortable is having a drawing area of six by eight or a medium tablet. In most of other models, getting a medium tablet will grow with you while you progress. And bottom line. This one, we're just going to zoom in one more time. Okay. Progress and bottom line. You might not even need to upgrade it anymore. I've always used that medium tablet. For the past 20 years, I've never had a reason to go higher. I want to also have a more dramatic effect with this one, So let's just add a zoom effect all the way to here. And then do it like very high, okay? I've never had a reason to go higher or bigger because this always fits everything that I need. And when it comes to, and I want to do the same thing but with the eye sylicious, I know that my eye is over here. So let's just go. Okay, it's around my cheeks. So let's see if that works. I've never had a reason to go higher or bigger, because this always fits everything that I need. And when it comes to the brand, it's really up to your preference. I've always used the Wacom and I found them to be very good and have a very good reliability in here. I think I want to just remove this big gap. It's too long. I'm removing these two gaps since I have a B roll here anyways. So the cut will not even make a difference to be very good and have a very good reliability, but you might be opting for something else. As long as the size is the same, you don't really need to care so much about a model. Because at the end of the day, let's remove this gap and add one more zooming because, okay, just go down slightly model because at the end of the day it's a tablet with a stylus and you just need it to use it as a tool. Obviously, before you buy, just read some reviews and make sure that it for here. I just wanted to o in, I wanted to zoom out over here. So what I'm going to do in here, I'm going to click these two. Because I wanted to go back to zero and press one in here and zero. Let's see how that looks. Obviously, before you buy, just read some reviews and make sure that it fits your needs. One of the biggest things that you need to know is for every tablet they have different pen and different designs. For the one I'm using, I'm using the Waka medium. And basically the pen that comes with it has two buttons and it doesn't come with an eraser. This could be a deal breaker for a lot of people because the Wack Pro models come with an eraser here. I just want to do a sharp zoom. But I found myself, actually, maybe it doesn't work because there is a big gap and I don't want to really slow that or break that momentum. So I'm going to do, I do a zoom in like this one with, with the key frame. But I found myself not using that eraser whatsoever. And it was basically just here. Because there's a big gap too. I'm going to do this and go back to one. See how that looks. Basically just there and just don't need it for me in here. I think there's a big gap. So I'm just going to paste this and add. I'm going to Don't need it. For me going for something that was not intended for professionals actually fit me more because I like to use the keyboard, fit me more. And I want to emphasize this too, so I'm going to do, say I want to make it punch because I like to use the keyboard for all of my shortcuts, I didn't really care. And do another one and then slowly go back to one. So having buttons did not really effect. Okay, so in here there's a buttons did not really affect me at all. What we can do here is I can add a text to my ask having buttons. So say having button didn't affect me, so let's do that. Having buttons did not really affect me at all. Okay, so having buttons, so let's just do that. So having buttons did not really affect me at all, but it all depends on what you want. Getting something that you absolutely, very sharp, think it matches. Want, getting something that you want. This really works well if you don't move your head so much like I move my head so much so that's on me. But if you keep your head still, this effect will work really well. Getting something that you want, getting something that you absolutely want is very important because every tablet has something different. If it's very important for different is removed. This thing that says just me breathing has something different. So if it's very different, this one also has. So we can just do a small, just go down a little bit. Okay. Different. Actually, maybe not, if it's very important for you to have more than six buttons on the tablet. Okay, I want to emphasize this, that let's see how that looks. Tablet, then that is your non negotiable, let's just say for example what I'm using. I have the on off button, we're not even going to consider that as a button. And there are four buttons, two on each side. I'm basically using the ones on the right is to skip tracks if I'm listening to music, and one to rewind the track. The other one is basically for just selecting the display, and that's it. But some tablets, let's just zoom in again, where you can adjust the brush size and you can zoom in and zoom out. Let's just maybe zoom in a little bit more. May have so many different intricate shortcuts that you can use with your software. Then when we go down, if this is something that you absolutely need, make sure and go 1.1 okay? Shortcuts that you can use with your software. If this is something that you absolutely need, make sure to look it up and read the reviews. I'm going to do this one as 1.1 as well to match look it up and read the reviews. Because once you get the tablet and it's not fit for what you want, it's very hard to go back. Final thoughts, then Final thoughts. I wanted to have this as text. That was my intention. Let's just do that here. Final thoughts. Final thoughts. Okay, go back. Final thoughts. More expensive doesn't always mean better. A cheaper tablet can do exactly the same function as the expensive ones one. The only difference it the expensive one, the only difference is what you can do with it. Thank you so much for watching. If you made it this far and you're interested in optimizing things and becoming better, that's basically how you add text and do some creative editing. Next we're going to go through adding music and sound effects. 12. Music and Sound Effects: Now we're going to add music and sound effects. I personally use epidemic sounds and I have the link in the description below. Now let's see what we can do. First of all, you wanted to add a couple more tracks. So I'm going to add a stereo track. I added a few because we needed to add so many. Let's start with the music. I've already selected this one. We're going to start from the beginning. You notice that it's actually cutting off. We're going to copy paste this music again and do a fade. We keep continuing. Or if you prefer, you can use a separate music or a different music and you can add it in and mesh them all together. But for the sake of this video, we're just going to do that. It's always a good rule to go ahead and check your decibels. Let me show you how you can do that. Let's just say I got the music. If you try and listen, if you're an artist, once again, it's really taken over the whole video and I can't really hear myself. So bottom line is, you're trying to make the music there, but a little subtle, just to add a little bit effect and flavor for your video. What I found in the rule of thumb is like for most music, as if you go -24 to 32 decibels, it usually fits. So it's really up to how loud the music is and your preference to start with this one, we're just going to go to -30 Let's see, that sounds good. You have digital art to try. This video will go through how to pick the perfect tablet just for you. Sure. Okay. I think it's too low, so we're just going to go 26. Using your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken. I think that sounds good now that we know that we're going to use this clip, So let's just copy paste it again. What I'm going to do is I'm going to move it down one layer and try and make them blend. If you notice when you select a clip, there is like a fade in and fade out like up. So I'm just going to move that in here and see if it makes sense. But you might be opting for something else. As long as the size is the same, you don't really need to care so much about a model. Because at the end of the day it's a tab. I think I worked, it was very lucky. So it's just, and when it comes to the brand, it's really up to your preference. I've always used the Wacom and I found them to be very good and have a very good reliability, but you might be opting for something else. Thing is, it's very low, so we can't really tell that the music has faded unless like you're really listening very carefully. But if it's almost there, we're just going to roll with it towards the end. We just want to cut it and we're just going to fit it out a little bit now that we have music Now it's time to add the sound effects. Let's just bring in my sound effect folder and I'm just going to drag and drop as we go. The idea is I want for every time I have something to show up on the screen, I want it to showcase something, especially if it's something that's very important for the video. Let's just roll with this one for a second. The perfect tablet, just for you. So I want to be choosing your first. I want that to have a special sound effect. I have my folder over here and I'm just going to go ahead and play something. Okay, so I'm just going to grab this one able, just for you choosing your first Drang table. Okay, I think this sounds really good, but it's actually offbeat a little bit. We're going to cut that and move it back also because this is very loud. Might have to go down with the volume. So you can either change it in here or you can just drag and drop choo. Usually -12 works. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Because if you choose the wrong one, it will actually slow your progress and won't give you a good experience. There is for this one, I also want to add something. Okay. I'm going to add this one. This is called the sooner ping and I think it will sound really good. We do the same thing, -12 there is no doubt that you can create, I think it's a little loud, so let's do -15 experience. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. But for each of those I want to add something. I'm going to add a mouse pop sound when you go digital art. But that's also allowed. So we're just going to do A. -12 If you zoom in, it's a sound effect. So we're just going to move that every time you hear that indicator that we have a different pictures. There is no doubt that you can create digital art using a mouse. But why hinder yourself? It's very subtle, but it has a really good effect actually. This one is just out. Just keep it this way for now. But why hinder yourself? It's like trying to, I just want to move it a little bit. Not much. Why hinder yourself? It's like trying to go from, I think it's also good to have the same effect. Here's the best part, is about sound effect that you can repeat but you don't have to repeat too much. Otherwise, it'll be very obvious. Let's just say trying to go from the East Coast to this one, I want to add, let's see what we can add here. Yeah, we can add this one. Let's add that two -15 again. Let's see if that works. Trying to go from the east coast to the west coast by walking, I want to add something to say that he's walking and then one when he's flying. Let's go with that. Just add this, this is most fun part really, is just trying to figure out what is the right sound for the effects by, by walking instead of then flying plane. I want to add something that maybe this one sounds good. Add that down here. Let's see if that works. By walking instead of taking a plane. But this one doesn't work, so let's just do something else. I think I found a better effect for this on the east coast. This one could be here. And then we can add a whistle right here. Just do that. Go from the east coast to the west coast by walking, instead of taking a plane using a stylus Get it gives you precision and control. Because tablets are in here, we can now rinse and repeat some of the older effects. I want to use the first one for here. And control, because tablets are pressure sensitive and can be adjusted to your needs, this will give you full control over your canvas. I'll make it very natural for you if there are always a graph of improvement. And the same thing for this one. I want to have the east coast, to the west coast by walking. Instead, we want to add the son 1 second. Let's just go get this effect if there is a graph of improvement between using a mouse and a pen. Now we can add this pop effect for each of those because it's very subtle actually, let's see. Between using a mouse and a pen, it would look like this. The mouse will really give you feel every time fails. I want to have something else. Let's see what we can do. So we're going to add this effect to here. The mouse, It's a little loud, so we're going to go down. Let's do -16 for this one because it's so subtle. The mouse, when it starts, I just wanted to do that like this. The mouse will really give you a very linear progression. But the pet but, and in this one we can do something a little bit creative, but I don't want it to play again. So what I can do is that can reverse the sound. So let's go right click, click speed, and then reverse speed. Basically we're reusing the same effect, but to have a sound different aggression. But the pen, however, you see that aggression, but the pen, however, like many of my friends, there's always this Aha moment that can give you from here all the way up to here. Because pressure sensitivity is very important. And makes it a very natural progression when you're using it on your canvas. And it makes, it's always a good idea when you start a text, maybe a mouth pop effect. It adds just a little bit of punch to the effects, let's see on your canvas and it makes a huge difference in the way you approach the painting. Let's go through my set up for this one. I want to add the very first effect, so I'm just going to go here. You notice like I don't drag and drop anymore. I try and copy paste because I want to keep the same intensity and the same volume. Otherwise we're all human. We're going to make mistakes. We're trying to minimize that as much as possible. I'm currently, let's go through my set. I'm currently in medium. Also, when this one comes up, I want to have another effect. Let's see, let's add a chime to this and also make it similar medium. Okay, I think that sounds nice. Just want to make it more subtle. And it started earlier. Let's move it as soon as the light shows up. Thing a wake intousmdium. Let's dive into why this tablet works for me. I wanted something that can fit inside my backpack, and we're going to do the same thing, pop inside my backpack without taking too much space. I used to have an Intuus pro five medium. I used to have an have an Intous pro five medium. And this thing was awesome, but the problem with it was very big and bulky and it wasn't wireless outside of the box. Add this one. I wanted just the box and I wanted just move this to the back box. And I wanted just something very simple. I wanted it to be compact and have wireless capabilities basically. So I can take it anywhere from a coffee shop to a co working space. Okay. At the pop Sound. But you might ask, why don't I use an ipad rather than this one, even though the ipad might have a lot more capabilities because of the screen. But the thing is, for me at least, I just don't enjoy drawing on a screen. I don't like to have half of my canvas St move anywhere I want this. I think this one is where I want to have different sound effects rather than the pop. So I'm going to go back, where is that? So this one, that's the one I'm going to use. I'm going to try first with the pop sound, see if it works. If not, we're just going to switch anywhere I want this works. Okay, let's move that for now. Let's see if this works. This works for my workflow. I really enjoy using it on Photoshop and a Sprite. Yeah, I think it looks good. What I want to do now is I want to copy. I want to move this, for example, if you're using Photoshop and want to add the same effect here with an IOS ecosystem, this one in here fold, especially if you're just starting out. For my case, I've been using Photoshop for more than 18 years, so it makes sense for me to try and unlock the. This is the, I have only two clips left. Let's try and see what we can do with those. We can reuse some of our effects again. We're going to, let's take this one because it's very similar. Paste. Bottom line, you might not even need to upgrade it anymore. I've always used that medium tablet for the past 20 years. I've never had a reason to go. I've always used for this one, we can reverse the speed so we don't need to re re sound effects. Let's try that. It's really up to your preference. I've always used the Wacom and I found them to be very good and have a very good. I will still have more. Let's see designs for this one. I want to use the very first again, This one actually actually we use this one this time. We haven't used it in a while. But you notice when I paste, it's actually pasting there. I don't want to use that in here. I'm going to paste it outside first. And then move it for every tablet. They have different designs. So what I can do is I can simply move this 11 down so I can keep all of my effects on the same layer. For every tablet they have different designs. For the one I'm using, I'm using the Waka medium. And then, let's see, for this effect at the, at the pop sound. It's always a good idea to listen and just double check if you're copying the right one. Don't need it for me going for some having buttons. Okay, I think this is the last one. Now, I still have two more almost done, non negotiable. So this one, we're just going to reuse this one. Let's just say for example what I'm using. So I have the on off button, so that sounds good. And this is the last one. Final thoughts? More expensive. Okay, now that we added all of the sound effects, we're going to go and try and adjust and get our sound levels correctly. Because when you play, you're going to notice that our sound levels are all over the place. We want to make sure that we limit and we don't have any high notes and low notes. That will be in the next model. 13. Sound Adjustment: So now we're going to go to the Fair light tab and play a bit with the volume. You see here that it stripped away all of the clips and only kept the audio. So we're going to go ahead and change the volume and adjust them so if someone is using earphones, you don't just blast their ears off. Let's just go ahead and play around the perfect tablet just for you. Choosing your first drawing tablet is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly. Because if you choose the wrong ones. So I noticed here, like I have a, a couple of effects that kind go all over. The minus 51 thing we can really do here is let's just go into press the effects. One thing I wanted to do is add a limiter. And I'm going to add the limiter for everything. Basically what the limiter does, it goes into the wave form and clips, if anything goes above those decibels. So let's just show you a demonstration. Let's just try to identify one that was very high. I'm just going to mute everything, actually slow your progress because if you choose the wrong one, okay, so we already know that this clip is problematic. So let's just add the limiter first and see if we can add that. What I want to do is I want to play before and after. Because if you choose the wrong one, it will actually slow your progress and won't give you a good experience. Because if you choose the wrong one, okay, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to make it to minus five because that's basically what I wanted to clip over that. And let's just play, because if you choose the wrong one, it will actually slow your progress and won't give you, because if you choose the wrong one, you see here now it doesn't go over, choose the five, you will actually. So what we're going to do is we're going to apply this effect to every clip that we have. So it's just copy and let's just zoom out. We're going to paste by doing all V and then attribute everything and apply. Now when we play is very important and shouldn't be taken lightly because if you choose the wrong one, you will actually slow your progress and won't give you a good experience. It doesn't clip anymore. There is no doubt then if you want to apply that to everything, just make sure that you don't click the volume because we already have established that some of the effects have different volumes. All I want to do is just take the plug ins and equalizer and have them the same. Let's just go ahead and apply that and listen. East coast to the west coast by walking, instead of taking a plane, using a stylus pin gives you is and control. We are pretty much having our audio levels very clean and they don't clip anymore. 14. Color Tab: Now it's time to go and color correct your footage. You notice first of all that the venter resolve has something that is very different from all of the other competitions. That it has a very strong color tab and it's almost on par with light room from Photoshop. For this course, we're just going to go through the basics because I have another course that covers that. Let's go through a quick overview of what color tab has. In here, you have your gallery. You have the luts. If you downloaded luts or created your own lets, you can, you can just dragon drop and it will work. You have the media pole similar to any of the other tabs. Also you have the clips. This is basically what you already have, the cut tab and the edit tab. You can remove that just to give you a little bit more visual and expand your work space. Down here is one of the most powerful tools you have, which is your primary wheel. You also have your log wheels, also your color bars. Then you also can have color matching. Then you can have motion effects, and also you have your curves. You can have like your wave form vector, scope, pistogram. It gives you a lot more control before it gets very overwhelming. We're just going to do very simple color touch up to get you started. One of the things that you need to know is that the vendor resolve uses the node system. It's a little bit different than the layer system, but one way I can tell you is that you see like this is one node and this one pretty much controls whatever you do in here. And it's almost a similar like Photoshop. But if you add a node and it will just add it almost like a layer for me to try and get over that little difference. I started adding nodes cereal this way, and they act as a layer. If I added anything or change anything in here, I would know that if I remove this layer, for example, I can go back. And that was a way for me to try and break that mold because the node system behaves very differently. And you can add a lot of different things. Like for example, let's say you have a node in here and you can add a parallel node. And this one only affects the node in here. It splits the input and you can mix those inputs here. It has a little bit more control than the layer system. It's a little bit more complicated. This is your node, let's add another node in cereal, or you can press Alt to create. I usually like to leave my first node untouched, unless, like, I need to do something later. It's always good practice to use a different node other than the first one. Let's just say if you added a lot of adjustments to your clip and you want to go all the way back, you can just delete it and you still have the node. However, if you delete the node, something usually goes wrong when you don't have any nodes in there. It's just like a fail safe. Now, one thing I wanted to go through is the wave form. Wave form is a very powerful tool, especially if you don't know anything about color grading. You can see why this is, first of all, the wave form basically translate what you see on the screen. It's basically shows you what are the more powerful colors are overtaking. For example, for this one on the left side is the blue. So you can see here that the blue is overpowering. In the middle there is the red. You see the red. On the right, there is a little bit of blue and a little bit red. That basically is exactly picture to picture what you see on the screen except it's on the color format. First of all, what I like is to go into the curves and do a custom curve to try and bring down some of this light, and bring up the shadows a little bit. You see like, you can go crazy. But I don't want to go too overboard. I just wanted to be here just a little bit. In the offset, one of the shortcuts you need to know is to highlight the node control D is basically turn on and off the node. I added another node and I wanted to do something with the temperature. I added a little bit more blue. I wanted to give it a little bit more reds. It's always a good idea to select like what we call it, like a hero shot, so you can adjust as you go. This one looks okay. Next we're going to go into the shadows. I always like to give a little bit of red shadows, I want to the opposite way in the highlights. Then I'm going to go into the color wheel and go into the red a little bit. Then for the gain, I want to give it a little bit of red as well. In the offset I'm going to go down, you can see already like we've already done some changes. You see in the vector scope that I brought down all of the highlights from this range down to here. Almost like you condensed all the colors into something that's more readable. What I'd like to do is I like to do something in the three. I'd like to go in each one of those and adjust slightly. Just give it a little bit more saturation. This one I don't like so much because it just adds a very flat color. We're not going to add it. Lastly, we're just going to go into the contrast and just take off a little bit of contrast. If you see like from before and after, I'm going to select all of the nodes. You can see that we brought down all of that yellow and gave it a little bit more natural color. Obviously. Like you can spend hours upon hours trying to fix and do some stuff. You can see from a few simple adjustments, it's already looking a lot better. One way you can add these changes to all of your clips is let's just say I have this other clip and I wanted to apply this grade. I can just write, click on the clip that I want to apply the grade from and I can do a pen grade. All it does is just adds the grades next to it. I'll be added in cereal. But if you wanted to apply, everything that you've done on this clip is you can apply grade. And basically all it does is just copy paste exactly what it is. I do prefer a pen grade because sometimes you have other clips that have different lights. Let's say if you shot in sunlight and then you went into a darker room. You want to have different grades for different settings. But other than that, this is a very high overview of what the color tab can do. Next we're going to go and export our video. 15. Exporting: Lastly, you want to save your work and export for Youtube. Let's just say for my case, I want to export it to Youtube, so there's a easy button. You just press Youtube and it automatically adjusts everything for you. You can just name it. So I'm going to say this is the new tablet video. Pretty much. You don't need to change any of the codecs unless you know what you're doing. That's up to you. Just add to Render Que Save. Now, click Render. It'll take a few minutes. After that, you can just upload and enjoy. 16. Outro: Made it this far. Congratulations you successfully finished the course, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed creating it. Let's recap everything that we've done in the course. We went through how to add the roll to your videos and edit to make it look seamless and remove all of the imperfections. We added B roll from images to videos, showed you a creative way to make your images come to life. Next, we went through a full creative process to keep your viewers engaged and make your video stand out. Lastly, we added sound effects, music and color grading. And I hope by showing you my mistake during the filming process, it will give you the courage to go ahead and create your first video. And if you want to contact me, if you have any questions, I have created a discourse server. And you can find it in the links below. Just remember, take it one day at a time and I'll see you on Youtube.
