1. Introduction to Traveling in Korea Speaking in Korean: My mother, Nissan think menial. Hello everyone. It's very nice to meet you. And I'm your grade teacher, Cindy, for this mini-course, traveling in Korea, speaking in green. I'm really happy and appreciated. You have enrolled in this course and are here with me. I'm here to introduce what this course is about and what you can get out of the course. First. This course is for people coming to Korea for a short term traveling. The contents are made based on situations that tourists would easily be able to face most of the time while traveling. Second, as this course is to help you speak natural gradient. I visited five places where this course focuses on and took a memo on what phrases had commonly used between staff and costumer. You might probably be asked the same or similar questions when you get to those places. And you'll be able to answer their questions after discourse. As the course emphasizes learning natural Korean, you won't be able to see any grammar explanations. So eraser grammar free course. Plus this course as pattern focused, you'll say three to four patterns for each chapter. But it doesn't mean you can only use them in a particular situation. You can make hundreds of new sentences in different situation just by replacing them with new words. Then who is suitable for this course? Anyone who can read and write hunger would be welcome for the course. Uh, sentences and conversations are made easy and simple. Also, it could be suitable for people studying Korean only based on textbooks. Or who have fewer opportunities to speak grain with grain people who need help building a sentence structure. We have five chapters in this course. And you learn useful and practical expressions you can use when you are in the polio vaccine coffee shop, restaurant, Cafe. That's going to be really fine. So are you ready to start? I'm looking forward to seeing you in Chapter one, Goldmann now. 2. Practice Korean at the Palace: Welcome to the first chapter of this course. What are the places on your mind that you want to visit in Korea? I'm pretty sure you'll visit Campbell palace when you're in. So as can will Palos is one of the famous attractions in Korea. And I see a small mammal to give you an idea of how much the tickets are. It is pretty cheap. However, there are also some ways you can enter without payment, e.g. it is free admission when wearing a handbook on grade is that. First, we're going to see four essential words we need to learn before we start. That has all in, all in ***, *** cheek one, t equal one. Okay, then let's see the first pattern of this chapter. You have to say how many tickets you want when you buy tickets. Also, the prices for adults and children are different. So you need to tell them how many adults and children tickets you want. When you go to a ticket box, the staff might ask you to authenticate. Meaning, what ticket do you want or what can I get for you? If you're a three adults, then you can say auditing, CCO. Auditing is on adult means three. And you can add the sentence by adding e. You say the sentence structure would be noun plus number plus u. We're going to learn how to count in a little bit. Also the difference between u and u, that I have ALL orange ACO audiences ECO. Then how would you say to for adults and for children? Two is two. So I will just say, awesome auditing. I studio that I have here. Odean do, I do. Adrienne do IEEE 2D array. The, Let's have a look. Sudan. Sudan means numbers. Maybe some of you already knew how to count 1-10. Let's practice that audio. Hello. To say, nay, your ego. Yeah. Now, try by yourself one more time. By the way, you might be wondering why the sentence sometimes ends with you or kill you. And you are the Vivre, which is in our a's, in English or in Colombo. Those nouns and in a final consonant. So you can add EU after the noun. However, Hannah, I peel, those three noun ends in a vowel. So you can add you after the noun. Now you're the customer. I'm the employee. Pure bucketed it. One more time. You already customer? I'm the employee. Pure bulky today, Kyle. Alright. Then let's move on to pattern to you. When you make a payment, sometimes you need to ask if they take cash or cards. And then you can say in Green Bay you. Let's learn three new words. First, that Asiago, Paddy, Paddy, handgun, tween you. To AU. Most places take cards plus some areas only accept cash. So if you want to make sure if they take cards, they can say Katia Twilio. Literally it means is a card possible? Well, which means do you take credit cards? By the way, in courier, most places take credit cards. So you don't need to worry about having casual the time. Let's practice that Isaiah cuddy. Cuddy. And if they take it, then they would say they cut it. One more time. Do you take cash? I'm going to do that ICO. Boom tail, tail. You accept Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay TO that audio. Samsung Pay. Samsung Pay TO YOU except Apple Pay. Pay tail. That SEO, a groupie tail, a tail. Now it's your turn. You're the customer and I'm the employee. They drill warmer time to customer. I'm the employee. They again, you are the customer. I'm the employee. They last time you were at a customer. I'm the employee. Alright. So far we have learned to patterns of how to order tickets and make a payment. And now the situation is you're looking around the places and you've got lost. So you need to ask people to directions. You can only remember this pattern. Choose on Monday, auto KKR heal. Before we start, let's see some new words for the places that I asked you. Where do you see Paeony dum. Dum. Let's look at the first example. Can we do is a must see place inside of Campbell palace. And actually you're going to see when you get there. However, let's suppose you've got lows in Nepal and you want to ask where it is. You can say J zone and they are the key KaiA. Trace on candy means sorry, excuse me. Then you can mention the place where you're about to go. And then the key KaiA here, meaning how can I get there? That Isaiah trace on that day? Weirdo, auto, KKR, heel, warmer time, trace along and they can lay row or top k, KR. He'll listen to the dialogue one more time. She's on one day. Can we rule took a car here? You'll get this whole job, Cassio. The following example could be the most useful one for survival to. We are trying to look for a toilet but can't find it. How would you ask? You can say JSON day, what's on the zoo or Tokyo hair. That ICO chisel and they don't see auto Kaguya heal. While more time trace on Monday. I don't see auto KKR. He'll listen to the dialogue one more time. She's on Monday. I'll book a hero cop ago when to go to Cassio. The last example, how can I get to the convenience store? Json day, pill needs arm or the care that they need arm or book a car here. One more time. Drizzle Monday, candy dorm or took a KaiA, he'll listen to the dialogue one more time. One day, Palmisano took a HIO to cut the orange overrule Cassio. Now it's your turn. You're the one who is asking the direction for killing way to Yogi ISO to Casio. Again, you're the one who is looking for toilet to cut that gun, window, Goodall Cassio. Last one. You're the one who is looking forward to convenience store to cut that gun Odin job. Because Hera. Now let's see more expression. So you can commonly use in every situation, you're paying for the tickets or when you make a payment, the staff might ask you, young Susan, Kyle, meaning do you need a receipt? If you're knitting, you can reply. They choose AOL, meaning Yes please. And if you don't need it, and you can somehow now, that's okay. They choose they are they choose their annual concern. I'll annual content. I'll second, you need to ask somebody to take a photo for a while. We'll just say JSON day, sudden June to go to seek a soil that Isaiah. So one day syndrome tick all to seek a soil. Json day, sudden Jerome Diego to seek exile. And probably most people would say, yes, I will take all the Ukiyo-e. Alright, time to recap this chapter. We'll learn three patterns. The first one was you're telling the staff how many tickets you want. And the second one was you're asking if they accept cash or card. And the last one is asking people for directions. Hello, How's the class? I hope you enjoyed the first chapter and gain more confidence in speaking green. If you have anything unclear, it can contact me through how to say inquiry in gmail.com. Bush shook me Instagram DM at how to say in green. Then I will see you in Chapter two comes out to be that. 3. Practice Korean in the Taxi: Welcome back to Chapter two. In Korea, you can easily find taxes on the streets in most big cities. And you can grab a taxi or useful texts and mobile application. You can also call taxes too. But Caltex is usually start with the higher fare and taxes on the street. You can see the different basic fairs by region. But taxes all use the same fair calculation of increased by time and distance traveled. And most Texas accept cash, credit card or transportation card, which is cold tea money card. However, asked me before you get onto taxi, they take credit cards is always good idea because some Texas in a particular area only accept cash. Then let's get started. When you're about to grab a taxi, you must know if the tax is empty or occupied. And you can notice it by the sine of the car here. If it's an anti-tax, see, it says Pienta in red color. Pizza means the empty car. If it has reserved, then he says, Yeah, Yeah, Which means reservation. And if it is off duty, family says humor. And if it is occupied and he says nothing, the lights are just turned off. So you can see what's written there first and figure out whether it can grab it or not. The taxi mobile app I recommend is Krakow taxi. It is very convenient as you can set your departure and destination. And they'll tell you how much it will cost to get to your destination. And there are three different types of taxi. If you want a big car, then you can order a Venti. And if you care about hygiene, then you can call blue or press the channel request. If you don't care about neither of them is the same as just a regular taxi. Alright, then let's learn some new words that has a arrow. Keys, adenine, guanine keys, that means I'll driver, but by adding NIMA at the end shows your respect for your driver. And it's very common to call, gives a name to a taxi driver or a bus driver. Han Han pay, pay. Okay, so we'll look at for patterns in this chapter and let's begin with the first pattern. The first pattern is traced on the Casio, meaning, excuse me. But do you go to like your destination? When you take a taxi, it is always good to ask the driver if they're going to your destination. Because some types of drivers reject your request if they think the destination you are going to is to close. Let's say you're about to go to young. Do you want to ask the driver if a could take you to Melville? That ICO, JSON day, dong, dong Cassio, trace all had they known Dawn Cassio. Cassio, it means Diego. And if it goes, then he'll say they chiral does ALL. Which means, as I do, getting into a taxi. Listen to the dialogue one more time. She's on Monday. Dong dong Garcia. They, Kyle has €1. Now you want to go to Incheon International Airport or the L J song and they entangle GUN Castillo, Walmart, time, trace ON, they entanglement Garcia. And if it doesn't go, Then he would say on your, um, girl j, so lambda, which means no, I don't go there. I'm sorry. Listen to the dialogue one more time. On that day. Entanglement Cassio audio, I'm go Jerusalem omega. And now you want to go to chosen hotel. So what we'll just say till driver. Very good. You can say tracing and they chose almost there, Cassio, that Asiana J song and they chose on low-tech Cassio. One more time J song and they chose on low-tech Cassio. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Jason Monday chosen voltaic Cassio, Cairo. Now it's your turn, your customer, and I'm a taxi driver. They Kyle Casio. Again, you're at a customer. I'm a taxi driver. On you. Just want that to be the last one. Your customer? I'm a taxi driver. They Kyle. Alright. Then let's move on to the second pattern. When you get into a taxi, driver will ask you like where you'd like to go. Then you can say your destination first and then say car to zero, which means please take me to your destination. Let's have a look new vocabulary first, that as Aldi, aldi, Kaaba, Kaaba, nums and towel. Now Amazon tau. One. Whom? One? Very good. As soon as you get into tech see, the driver will ask you all did okay. Meaning version I had to wear. Sure. I take you let's say you're going to count them. Yeah, which is Gangnam station. You can tell the destination, can them yuck first and then say car to Z0, which means please go. So overall, condemn your car juseyo. So simple, right? That audio can then your colleges ALL condemn you catch juseyo. Listen to the dialogue one more time. I'll do it. Okay. Oh, come on Jaccard, zero. Now you're going to numb some tower where you can see older view of soul. And the driver is asking you again, I'll hit Okay. And then what would you say? Very gay. You can say Santo catches arrow. That as well. Dams n tau cards with them then tau car to zero. Listen to the dialogue one more time. I'll do it. Okay? Oh, Lamson Paul causes arrow. And now you want to go to Olympic Park. So I'll just say till driver. Yes, very good. You can say Olympic one catches here. That idea. Olympic one catches the owl. Olympic Oman catches ER. Listen to the dialogue one more time. I'll do it. Okay. Geico, Olympic one, culture zero. I'm the taxi driver. You are the customer? Did okay. Oh, one more time. I'll do it. Okay, guys. Last one? I'll do it. Okay. Oh, wow, guys, we haven't reached the third pattern of chapter two so far, so good. I hope you're enjoying. So sometimes you're unsure where to go exactly, but you're thinking of going nearby or particular place by taxi and want to look around. That case, you can see each Elle Driver somewhere can total to zero, which means please take me to nearby somewhere. So before moving around, example sentences, Let's have a look some new words first, that SEO can total. Total killing Ghaidan, Kelvin, Ghaidan, Hootsuite. Hootsuite. The driver will ask you again, audit. Okay. Like where are you going? And you wanna go to the nearby World Cup Stadium. So you can say why the cup. Dann, kann total catches hero. Cop can get Duncan total. That means local stadium nearby. So which is like nearby work of Stadium. And then catch UCL. Please go. That way. The cob can get and can total car to say, well, why did cobe can get Duncan total cards with Zao? Listen to the conversation one more time. Audit, obey. The cobe can get down console Carter's hair off. And the next example is you're going to nearby lake soft tone also. So nearby is option lake in green. So Joan also can tomorrow. And then please go edges here. That as the soft jaw and also can total cards was one more time. Also can total patches ALL. Listen to the dialogue one more time. All day to buy Geico, SOC two and also can total cards or Zao. And the last example lays you're going to nearby mountain, book cannons and so nearby. But can Mountain, which is broken then can total. And then you can say car to CEO, please go that Azekah Kansan can total car to zero pecans and consult all car to Z0. Very good. Listen to the dialogue one more time. I'll detail Geico. Book enzyme can total all cultures E0. Now it's your turn. I'm a taxi driver. You are to costumer audit. Okay. Oh, one more time. I'll do it. Okay. The last one? I'll do it. Okay. Geico, very last pattern of this chapter can be used when telling the driver where you want to get off. So that's gonna be somewhere, a zone. They didn't go. Which means I'll get off that somewhere. Okay. So before we jump into potent for your words are waiting for you, that Azi, pig, pig. See nodding. C naught. Then Bordeaux. Then we'll do posterior tongue new policy, tongue new done. So you're able to taxi and wanted to get off in front of the convenience store over there. So I would just say to the driver, talky. Talky means like over there in county exam is like in front of the convenience store. And then you can say a song that is Gail, I'll get off. So repeat after me that SEO. So gay County Jail, my peers on their AKO, Walmart time, talky, pill, Needham, I pay zone. That AKO. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Tollgate pony, Zomato pays all data. Gayo. The next example, A's, you want the taxi driver to stop nearby the traffic light. Sail to remember nearby. There again, nearby is going to say you can say she know then can tall is all very gear. Like I'll get off nearby the traffic light. That Isaiah see noting, though, that girl. One more time. She Northern Kentucky is all dated. Go listen to the dialogue. Warmer time. She noting couldn't tell his all they do. They I guess omega. And the last example lays, you want to say the taxi driver to stop nearby the bus stop over there. So what I will just say Well done. You can say Paul suit on near Dann kann toy. They do girl like nearby the bus stop. Pulsate on your tongue can repeat after me. That idea. Soggy pulsate on Newton couldn't tell is all very Gale. While more time. Pause Suetonius and can tie his own. Gail us into the conversation when we're tying tollgate pulses on your Duncan psi as RDD gayo. Alright, then it's your turn. Now you are the costumer and I'm the driver. They times U menu. While more time. I guess to me that last one. They times U menu than let's say TO taxi driver. Some basic key expressions for saying the directions to the driver. Let's have a look. So please turn left in Korean, you can say try. He adds on to the trial weeds on lanes going left in. Physio means please do. So childhoods on pages ER. And then please go straight and chlorine, you can say in two ways. The first one is to choose here, and the second one is juke car to Z0. They both mean go straight. And the last one, please turn right and currying movies on a Tuesday, I'll wait on HCL. And the funny thing is like sometimes you'll meet a very chatty taxi driver asking you some questions like, where are you from when you came to Korea or how long you're going to stay here. So we're going to have a look this three general questions, and you can answer to their questions. And it's gonna be also font to show with a driver, even if it's a shared conversation. The first one is talking about where are you from. So the question or DSO means where are you from? And to answer this question, you can say the name of your country first and then say a zone. What style? E.g. if you're from Singapore, then you can say Singapore do a song was Lisle. It's simple. Right? Now, please find the name of your country in the dictionary and you can answer this question. Let's try. I'm the driver and you're the customer. Or the ISO was just like, Wow, very good. The next question is the driver asked you like, when did you come to Korea? Angle gay on Z or just soil. And let's say you came here a few days ago. So a few days ago in Korean is too tall name. And then you can see was saw you say it's on a hostile. And to answer the question, you need to know some time nouns like a few days ago or a week ago, et cetera. So here we have roughly seven nouns indicating time. So we can practice together that idea. All day. Or kudo. To Toni, Toni, Toni. Toni. And you can change the red colors into different numbers using Sino-Korean numbers and make your own answer. And now try to answer to the question. Hunger Games on there, which are slow. Very good. And the last question is asking you, for how long do you stay in Korea? And you can say, Oh, Madeleine, K is E0. Omar domain is for how long? And KCL do you stay? And let's say you're going to stay here for a week, a week in Korean. Do it. Then you can add to men is zirconia, which means I'm gonna stay for a week. Now let's make a dialog. I'm going to ask you Omar Dongen, KCL. Also. This is just a simple thing. So like when you leave the taxi, you can say, Thank you, Take care, which is comes down Meta. Thank you. Chose him, he Cassio, which means take care goals. Save, comes down to see me. Alright, so in this chapter, we'll learn for patterns. And the first one was about asking a question, if the driver goes to your destination. And the second one was telling the driver to take you to your destination. And the third one was telling the driver to take you to nearby the place. And the fourth one was telling the driver where to get off. So I think it is for patterns will help you have a smooth conversation with your taxi driver. Then I'll see you in the following lecture. Comes out of me. 4. Practice Korean at the clothing store: And nausea. Welcome back too many cars traveling in Korea speaking in grant, we are here already at Chapter three, and it's about clothing shopping. Clothing shopping in Korea is one of the most of things while traveling here S clothing is relatively cheap and Korea, there are many places you can go for shopping on every corner, particularly in young dome, David market, or the area. Since you're here, what about having a conversation with a salesperson and create e.g. like, Can I try this shirt on or can I try these sneakers? Or do you have another side? Something like that. Alright, then let's begin with the first pattern. Okay? So you've got into the shop and you found the one you liked. So you want to ask the salesperson if you can try it on. It could be assured shoes or even sunglasses. And to ask if you can try it on, you can say, hadn't been to yo, which means can I try something? And in this chapter, we're going to learn lots of cooling words that anesthesia, T-shirts, T-shirts, tap kid. Kid. Why you should see why shot. One PC. One PC to cook to Paddy. Paddy, CMA, ti, ti, ti. Then two men, men to men. Very good. And the tricky thing is, in Korean, we use all the different verbs depending on what you wear. So when you want to try like t-shirts or pants or even coat, then you can say hand bond, Ebola Blotto, blotto TO. So let's say you found a dress you like and you want to try it on. So you want to ask the salesperson if you can try it on. So what we'll just say, yes, you can say one PC, Hamburg, ybar Pardo to be C, unbound IPO plateau DO. And if a salesperson says yes, then she'll say they evolved was here like yes, tried it on go ahead. That I have here. One BC handball on the bulbar duty. One BC homebound Ebell Blotto tail. By the way, sometimes you're not allowed to try some tops in private clothing shops for stain reasons. Then they would say onion bulb was like, No, you can't, you can try it on. Listen to the dialogue one more time. One PC, Ambani ballpark Odeo. Odeo. Odeo, all the bulb was zero. Okay, Now let's move on to the words for items. That idea, Buddha, border and gum. And young son, who's an acid. As it could. For those four items, you use the verb super, meaning to wear. So if you want to say like, Can I try the hat or can I try to glosses umbrella or a mosque? Then you can say, unborn soul, bottle, tail. E.g. you want to say like, Can I try this head on? Then you can say, well, there had been Sabato TO and if you're allowed to, then the salesperson would say, they solve with ER, like yes, tried it on that idea. Buddha, unborn soul part Odeo. Odeo. Listen to the dialogue one more time. What does unbound so Pardo TO open. Okay. And now you can see all the shoes and items you wear on your feet. That ICL wouldn't don't want. Young men. Young men attacking. Attacking. Cool too. Cool too. Very good. And the verb for wearing shoes or socks is syn syntax. So you can say handball on CINAHL Blotto tail to ask if you can try them on. And bonds. Nobody luteal. E.g. let's say you want to try one since shoes on. And do you remember what shoes in green? Yes. That was right. Cool. So like can I try these shoes on hand, bond, snowballed Odeo. Could do I'm bonds, you know about lutea. And then if you're allowed to, then she would say, they see no pause here. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Could do hand bones. Nobody Odeo. They should not be zero. Now, it's your turn to costumer. I'm the shop owner. They Ebola was AOL Walmart time. You're at a costumer. I'm the shop owner. They solve both era. The last one, you are the customer. I'm the shop owner. They novels ER. Then let's move on to the next pattern. Let's say you found something you like and you want to know if they have a different size or different color. And in that case, you would say like, do you have a different size or different color? And inquiry. You can say something is soluble. So you, okay, so let's look at some essential vocabulary for shopping that Isaiah Koons IZ coincides. Targeting society. Again, society. Say Sit guy. Is soil. Is soil. Soil. Soil. Very good. Alright, so let's say you have tried one shirt, but it's a bit small for you. So you want to ask if you can find one size larger. One size larger inquiry, you can say hello. Say hello means one in native Korean, number. That hello. Hello inside the soil. Very good. And if they have, then they would say, nay style. And if not on, you. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Hello, in-situ soil. They saw audio of soil. The next example is you want to ask if they have a different color and a different color. It green is padding, sick pay cut in Zika. So do you have a different color patterns, a guy he style and patterns and Kyle to MSU also have a different color that Isaiah patterns a guy do is style. Style. Listen to the dialogue over time. Patterns a guy do is style. Audio of soil. And the last example is, you have blue jeans. They remember BlueJeans and green. Yes, that's right. Tongue body. So do you have tongue buzzy? Somebody is soluble. That idea. Somebody is loyal, somebody is soil. Listen to the conversation or more time. Somebody style. They style on your op soil. Alright, it's your turn, your **** customer. I'm the shop owner. They are ano up soil. While more time you're at a costumer. I'm the shop owner. They style ano of soil. The last one you were to customer. I'm the shop owner. So now we're at the final pattern of Chapter three. When you think about everyday conversation, including shopping situations, we often say like not that skirt, but these pants, or not this one, but that one likes to negate the noun. There are many words you can make it a noun. But my goal that we're going to learn is the most colloquial and only used for spoken form. So in this section, we're going to learn two expression by Cool. I go. It will restart. Let's learn some colors and Korean. First of all, color is sick guy. Guy. Now, repeat after me. That idea begun Zheng Chu. Chu on the neurons, the neurons, they took six total CK, same patterns. Patterns here. Porosity, porosity, pronouncing, Poonam, hinting, hinting, Coleman, Coleman. Quizzing. Quizzing. Okay, so let's say you went into the shop and found peak high heels. So you're asking the owner if you can try these shoes on? First of all, how would you say that in Korean? Yes, very good. You can say chisel, tillage and by June she no plateau DO very good. In your indicating the pink one. But the ulnar misunderstood and thought you wanted a purple one. So you say, oh, not that purple one, but the pink one. I'll just say that in green. Yes. Are you Good? Put Isaac, my goal prolongs eggs and barrier, like not the purple one, but the pink one. That ICO put my Gu prolongs the egg scenario. One more time. What asic may go? Prolongs egg scenario. Listen to the dialogue one more time. She's a one day. She know about audio. Eagle on you what I think mobile will know mosaics and Barrio. Okay, Then let's look at the next example. You've tried on S size shirt. And the staff asked if the sides fits well. First of all, how the owner would say in this situation, like does it fit well? Yeah. Oc badges here. Or Z Tiamat is their meaning. How does it fit? You think it's a bit tight. So you want to ask if they have M sides, not as sides. I'll just say that in green. Yeah, Very good. My goal, em like not S by m. And do you have a soil? As semi ago? M is style. That idea. A semi go, aim is style. One more time. Semi ago, aim is still very good. Listen to the dialogue warmer time. We'll see tie matches IO ME, soil diagram, u times u man. Yeah. The last example is now you've found the pants and the staff came to you and ask, like Do you like this paint? Do like it. Shields say IPAT CSI, Miami to Z0. Mommy does arrow means like do you like So do you like this pants? And you like it, but you also want to know if they have different colors, not the green line. So you'd say total sig, my goal. Paddings a guy do is style, not the green one, but different color. Do you have that idea? Took say I go like I'll do is style. Walmart I took sick, might go to Add-ins a guy do is style. Very good. However, it seems like it has only one color. So the only road, say, gutsy thing man is, so it has only one color. And God is in man is. So I'll listen to you the dialogue warmer time. Ipat, CSI, Miami, Mobile Patterns. Ricardo is soil. Ano hunger using money style. Now it's your turn. Please make a sentence using my ego. You're the customer. I'm the shop owner. Eagle oil. More time on the shop owner. You are the costumer. Washi tape or does he feel good on your terms, human? Yeah. Last one. You're the customer? I'm the shop owner. E Patsy, mommy to Zao. Anneal haven't gotten anything Valley style. Now, some more expressions you can easily here in the clothing shops or any kind of shops. When you go into the shop, the staff will definitely ask you like, Hey, welcome, How can I help you? What are you looking for? Shield say Z0 voltages here. And sometimes I'm a little bit bothered if someone asked me and follow me. So if you don't want to be bothered or just want to have laying around, you can say Can you haven't been to lobby your girl is like just having bond. Once. Logarithmic scale. I will have a look. Yam bond global Qian. Again. So let's practice one more time. Also the voltage is E0. Well done. Now you're at the cashier. I want to make a payment. You want to ask how much the total lists. You can say more do own layer. Bordeaux means total. And how much more do I smile? And its total 50,000 line. So we'll do man or turn on year. 10,000 in Korean is men and 5,000 is all tongue. So man or ton one year. Let's practice. You are asking how much the total list we'll do bind or tunnel. Yeah. Now, you're about to pay and want to make a monthly installment payment. The monthly installment in Korean is hey, hey boo. So how many monthly installments would you like to pay? Hey boo or Gaia? Gaia? And to answer to this question, you can say the number first and k. K is a counter for months. So e.g. three monthly installments, please. You can say Sam Gei Wo, high gear. Some game are Heck, yeah. And the thing is, we use Sino-Korean numbers for the counter month KEY. Let's learn how to count 1-10 in Sino-Korean number that i e, e 0. You see, Let's practice one more time. You're at a costumer and on the shop owner. Hi boo or Takeda Rico. All right, so that's all for Chapter three. We learned three key patterns here. The first one was, can I try something? And the second one was do you have something? And the last one was not this one, but that one. Well done guys told my daughters laura, I'm so proud of you. You have finished this chapter and we have only one more to go, chapter five, and that one's gonna be about cafe. I'm looking forward to meeting you in the next chapter on young you guys hear me. 5. Practice Korean at the Korean BBQ restaurant: Welcome back to chapter four. And this chapter is about trying to local food when the trouble is one of the best things to do. And it helps you understand their culture to you probably have some people having the bookie or something upside in the restaurant. And they're just Koreans favorite food. Maybe you want to try them as well when you're in Korea. So in this chapter, you will learn some expressions into specific restaurant. I'll snack bar and a Korean barbecue restaurant. Alright, then let's jump into the first pattern. When you're in the restaurant or a cafe and you're asking a favor to the staff. Like, please give me some water. Please give me a bottle of beer. How? Just say that in Korean? Yes, you can say something. June choosy. Choosy. All means please give me. And by adding June before in my exterior, request, sound more polite. And what kind of food do they have? And a snack bar. You probably know some of them. Like kinda Kim bob is wrapped with seaweed that as rice and vegetables inside. And up bookie is made of chili paste, chili pepper, and rice cake. It's a little bit spicy, but very chilly and also very sweet. Almost, almost as a kind of fish cake. And we usually eat it with the soup. And the last one is C, is a fried rice cake with a spicy sweet sauce on it. And it's very crispy and chewy two. And now I'm gonna tell you one unique thing about the Korean language. And that is about, so basically when you count these people, books, animals, or flowers, we use different counters. And the same goes for type of food as well. E.g. can we use a counter June meeting line? So for one line of Cuba, then you can say came up for two lines of Cuba. You can say keep up to 2.3 lines of Kiba in bad seizure. And for numbers, you use native Korean numbers like that I do. And you might wonder why it is not an adder is at hand. Do say name. The form changes. When native green number is used with the counters, the numbers 1-4 changes their form. So hello becomes hen with the counter and do becomes two, becomes C, net, becomes knee. From five to form doesn't change. And when you count things or people or animals, whatever, the noun comes first and then number, and then counter units. Okay, Then let's get into the first example. And before we start, do you know the word shop owner in green, like e.g. when you make an order like, Hey, sir, please give me one good book. Like hacer audience that that inquiry yes, we can call them on. It basically means both, but it's not a pulse here. It's just like a shop owner doesn't matter with the gender. So no matter what the gender is, you can just call them suddenly. And you want one king back. So how would you say that in green? Yes, you can say that I need keep up and zu tun just ER that Isaiah says I need keep up on Zoom too. They are. One more time. Southern name came back under Jerome Judeo. Listen to the dialogue one more time. So as a knee, keep up on Jerusalem, Judea. They can come back, that is zero. Alright. Then you can also see the counter for the Persian e.g. dot bulky would be used as a counter in Boone. So if it's one person of the bulky, then you can say that bookie in the two portions of the pokey? Yes. The pokey. E in Boone. And three versions than it would be the bookie, Sam in Boone. Then how would you say please give me two versions of the pokey? Yes, that's right. The foci E in Boone tune Judea. That idea doesn't need public-key in Burne-Jones, Jersey. Walmart time. Suddenly Kabuki in Burne-Jones to Zao. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Does I need a bogey Vendome to say owl, monkey? That is. Okay. And the next counter for today is k. K is one of the most common for counting things are items, e.g. chairs, desks, pencils, apples, and scalars as well as you can see in the picture. You can see I'll move or Dougherty in scarce. So for one fish cakes gear, it'd be a handgun. To use gears. Amo to gain three. Yes, the good seed. So you want to ask threes, gears of fish cake, how we'll just say that in green. They satisfy a need. Or more, say gauge. Like three fish cakes. Say again, that idea that I need almost like a dome Judea. One more time. I need amorphic a term Judeo. Listen to the dialogue warmer time. I need almost like a dome juseyo. They took a mug that is CEO. And now you want force gears of equity. So I will just say they need Ducati, they gay June to see how that idea doesn't need to go to Judea. One more time. As I need to do there. Listen to the dialogue one more time. I need book would say they get from Judea. They took a monkey that is E0. Now it's your turn. Please make an order at the snack shop. You are to costumer and I'm the owner. They tank, I'm Maggie, that is E0. Omer time. Please make an order of three portions of a bookie. You are to customer and I'm the staff. They sunk a monkey, that is E0. Last one. Please make an order of force gears of equity. You're the customer and I'm the staff. They took a monkey that is zero. Now, let's move on to a Korean barbecue restaurant preschool, which basically means meat house. Visiting a Korean barbecue restaurant could be a good experience. If you are a meat lover, you can cook your meat by herself, which will give you some fun. So I've put some stuff on this page that you can commonly see in the barbecue restaurant. And let's learn their names. First. Let's figure out the name of the food on this page. What is this one? Yeah. It is time to time to usually we eat meat with lots of vegetables, especially with S2. So you put a piece of grilled meat on your assigned Zhou and rapid and put it in your mouth. However, the source can be missed when you eat meat. So this one, it is called some down. Some done. It's made of beans and chili paste, but not too spicy. And the main of the main hangup, same, same. Same means three layered meat, which is a pork belly. And the side dish, pan 1010. Usually they give you four to five different side this just for free. Lastly, some drinks, beer and so do bear is make, do, make two. So two is just Soldier. Soldier. Alright, let's review one more time to time to send them. Some then. Some gaps say. Some gaps say they do make Jew. And now let's see some words for the item. So you can see on the table, it's very easy to see films and scissors on the table because you have to use them while cooking your meat. So thunks inquiry, see scissors. We end plate. Topsy or up Topsy, meaning front plate that is in front of you. In Spoon. Sugata. Chopsticks. Top gotta. You can also say sudo for spoon and chopsticks together. Same as English. Okay, So let's review one more time that are their car we COBie. Topsy, Topsy, Topsy, Topsy. Sit, gotta, gotta, gotta, I gotta call. Cope. When you order meat, you can also use the counter in Boone, meaning version. So if you want three versions of pork belly, what would you say? That's right? Yup, Sam, sam, inbun, three versions of pork belly. Then how would you say, please give me three portions of sangha, say yes. Say in Boone, June choose here. That says I need some gaps. There's hummingbird and Joan choose AL. That's a knee. Some gaps. There's hummingbird and John to Zao. Listen to the dialogue one more time. That I need absurdism in one job. They target monkey that is zero. Alright, Then how about the beer? Like the counter? What's gonna be the counter for beer? Bottle of beer, bottle of sauce, you bottle of wine, or Sprite, coke, whatever is in the bottle is young. So three bottles of beer. Yes. They do. See beyond that, as he says, I need make Jews, hey, Belgium, Jersey. Yeah. So as I need Jews, Hebbian, don't just listen to the dialogue one more time. As I need that Jews have young John two, they are gamma, that is A0. And if you need to say, you need a thongs and scissors, then you can say, to go curvy Joan to the Huckel is linking to nouns. That as well. Because I need to go collegium to Z0. Will more time. Because I need to go yeah, go. Carried on to the L. Listen to the dialogue from her time. As I need to go. Yeah, go. Carried on. Judeo. Got monkey. That is A0. Now it's your turn. You're the customer who wants one person of pork belly. Please make an order. They Tonga monkey, that is Walmart time. You are to customer who wants three bottles of beer, please make an order. They tend gunmen GoDaddy's IO. Again, here are the customer who wants both are Tong and seizures. They can get monkey, that is arrow. The first pattern to them to zero, once used when you ask a favor politely, but it was in a declarative sentence. However, in pattern too, we also got to learn how to ask something politely, but it will be in an interrogative sentence. And that will be June 2. Sig is via meaning because you please get me or give us something more. Pull means more. As the side page, content is free. You can ask them more if you want. You can ask them politely by adding patterns to a knee. Pants syndrome. Patricia CEO, that idea says I need pants and Joan, tall to Zika style. Calmer time. Pen, tangent, altruistic SiO. Listen to the dialogue again. So as I need pants syndrome, I'll just pick a style. I'm zooming in yellow. Now you're asking for some shoe. You want more latches. So how would you say that two sets I need very good. Doesn't need sanctuary, john Paul two, she gets there. That Isaiah. That's I need some totem pole to seek a style. More time. Suddenly, son to go to Second style. Listen to the dialogue one more time. I need some to his own daughter, Ziga style. I'm zooming. And now you need warmer plate. So how just say that in green. Very nice. Plate is a thing or item. So you need a counter. So Topsy and get one plate. So overall, because you please give me one more played. Topsy and gay daughter Tricia style. That as a CEO. Because I need subsea engage room, told you one more time. Doesn't need tops. Young gays room tall trees, you guys CEO? Very gay. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Doesn't need, it helps young kids own cultures. You guys? I'm just reminding you. Now, it's your turn. Please ask for more side dish. They times demand now. One more time. Please ask for more latches. And so's politely. They said just a minute. Lastly, please ask for three or more plates politely. Days, I'm sure menu. Wow. Well done, guys. I'm so proud of you all that you made it. Let's have a quick recap. In this chapter, we learned two patterns, lightly asking some things. The first pattern laws and a declarative sentence like something, June juseyo. And the second pattern was in an interrogative sentence, asking something more, something to toe. She gets soil. Yellow balloon told my dad is slow. Then I will see you in the final chapter in the following video. 6. Practice Korean at the cafe: Welcome back to the final chapter of this course. Before we start, I want to say that I'm very proud that you haven't given up learning Korean and reached the last step. I hope the course makes you more confident in speaking in green. The topic of Chapter five as cafe. When you come to Korea, you can see so many coffee shops on every corner. And you will realize grains are huge coffee consumers. We go to coffee shops to drink coffee and meet friends, but also the study or do some work. The goofing about the cafe in Korea is that you can stay in the coffee shop as much as you want. The staff doesn't care if you stay there for four or 5 h shift or five doesn't teach you any new patterns for each conversation and quiz the patterns we had already learned in the previous chapters. So it will show you how to apply the patterns in different and various situations. I'm sure you will understand some sentences in the upcoming conversations. How exciting it is. What kind of coffee do you like? Let's learn the name of the coffee inquiry in this line is Americano, and it usually means hot Americana. And the second one is e. Americano. We also call it. They'll be surprised. Greens do drink iced Americano during winter two. And the third one is happy that day, which is cafe latte. And the next one is cappuccino. Cappuccino. And the best one during the winter, had to cool. Hot chocolate. Green tea latte. Latte means green tea. Avocado. Bu, got to add espresso. So we just say espresso. And for the size for the coffee, the words are same as English, but they're just pronounced like Hurrian. Like short thighs is short and tall. Good. I'm the panty. Panty. Easy. Alright, so urine, the cafe and the staff will a great, you're saying, although the year well, did it go many luck and why can I get for you? And you're going to order one cafe latte. So you're gonna say like one cafe latte, please. Actually we have covered a pattern, please. This one or please give me something in chapter four. And that was yeah, that was right. June choose A0. So how would you say like one GFA louder, please. Awesome. You can say copied at the June choosy. But also we sometimes say like, I want one cup of coffee latte, like one couple of, I'll just say that in green. We have a counter for a cup of coffee or a cup of tea, which is tan. So one cup of coffee latte, you can say cafe latte hens and like one cup of coffee hens, and then you can say June Judea. So overall, compare that day and then choose here that as the campaign at the hands, Andrew, Julia, compare at the hand and Jones was there. Very good. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Although the bolded Rico compared out the hands-on Jones was A0. And right after you ordered, you will be told this question every time you would earn at the cafe. For here, or to go for here is a Casio. Or to go pull down is here. If you drink the coffee, then you can say, well, okay, Gail, that idea will cook ikea. Hi, I'm Gayle. Listen to the dialogue one more time. Pull down ECO. Gayo. However, if you want to take out your food, then you can say putdown yell. Which means to go please. That idea. Put Tanya. Tanya, very gay. Listen to the dialogue when we're tying. Eo, juseyo, pull down here. And then the staff will ask you again what size you want sizing in Marlowe today, Kyle, you have no idea what size they have. So you want to ask, what size do you have? War is style. And they say they have small toll and grandest sites. Grand day is soil. And you want all sides. So please, I go for tall, tall, ER. Okay. So let's practice together. I'm the staff and you're the customer. Size and in more lottery Kyle. Smooth, current-day style. Very good. And when you finished your odor, the staff will ask you the last question. Like, do you need anything else? Paul, P2, as in Gone of sociale. You want a piece of chocolate cake. So you want to say, oh, this cake please, indicating chocolate cake. Could choose ER. But the staff misunderstood. So he indicated the other cake next to the chocolate cake with a strawberry on the top saying, this one, Eco. And you want to say, oh, not this one, but the chocolate cake on yo eagle, my Gu to colleague Kaye Creole. Okay, so let's practice again. I'm the staff. You're the customer. Paul paralyzing, gone up, Cynthia. Ego L. Well done. Also, you want to ask if they have wi-fi. So do you have Wi-Fi here? I'll just say that inquiry in their hardest viral, Yogi, yp style. Yogi, Why pay style? And usually mosque affairs have Wi-Fi and the password is written at the bottom of the receipt. So the staff says they premier Bono name young Susan hey style. Permeable know is a password and young switching is a receipt. So it's Britain into receipt. Young certainly. Let's practice together. You are the customer, I'm the staff. They enable no-name young Susan a style. And now you wanna go to the toilet or you don't know where to totally this. So you'll want to ask, well the toilet this. We practiced asking the direction e, pattern three in chapter one, starting with, excuse me, trace all and they see, I'll dock cake, I'll just hold on day. What time is it? Okay. And the toilet is on the second floor. The staff says e to a style. Eating is the second floor. Let's practice together here to costumer and I'm the staff. It's in a style. Now, it's your turn. Eroded costumer. And I'm the staff. And you can say the English part a degree. Although the Baltic IO, amartya, you are the customer and the staff size and then bolo trachea. Similar codon there is style. More time. I'm the staff here. The customer is ego gazelle, put down his heel. Warmer time and the staff for the customer does equal as A0, put down easier. One more time. Coal penalizing, gone upstairs ALL Eagle Hill. Very good. Now you're asking if we have a WiFi here. You are at a customer. I'm the staff. They pay variable Normally, young Susan a style. The last one, you're asking where to toilet this. There are two costumer, I'm the staff. It's against style. Now let's see more extra expressions you can use. Or you can here in the cafe. The cafe, or mostly in the shops. When you buy something, they will always ask you if you want to receive points. So they would say, point to Tony Paseo. 0.2 means points just like English. And Tony Paseo means dear receive or do you collect? Probably you don't because you are all short-term traveler. So you can just answer them are neo can tunnel. Now, thanks, That's okay. Ano content. Now, let's practice together. You are to costumer. I'm the staff. Told me patio. Okay, the next one could be also very useful. Let's say you ordered a blueberry muffin and it served very cold. So you want to ask if they can heat it out for you? In this case, you can say starting with, excuse me, JSON day, my pin, like morphine. Morphine Jerome, hey Walter, she gets so paywall, just take a cell. Is that you're asking to heat up your muffin politely. Let's practice together. You're at a customer. I'm the staff. They chrome yellow. Okay. And the last expression is, when you drink coffee at a cafe, they will serve coffee in a mock. It is now allowed to be in a plastic cup. However, if you need to leave the cafe but wanted to take a leftover coffee with you. You can ask the staff for takeaway. They will pour your leftover coffee into the plastic cup. In this situation, what do you need to say to them? Take away in Korean is taken out. So I would like to have this takeaway. You can say Copy, Take it out two pages. You can style your politely asking. Let's practice together. You are the customer. I understand. They times U menu. That's all for Chapter five, and this is it for this course. Once again, thank you so much for taking this course. And I really hope you learned a lot and gained lots of confidence in speaking Korean. You don't need to be perfect at speaking Korean, but just try as much as possible. And you'll see your Korean growing very quickly. I hope you enjoy your trip to Korea.
