1. Introduction: Looking at all these beautiful patterns, unique, chaotic, see interesting patterns, transformations from art. Experimentation is the cornerstone of most beautiful in nature. We are all born with curiosity and a way to explain it. But what stops us failure? It stops us from trying and creating things in the first place. Let's be fearless imply something that's unknown and yet to be created. Hi, My name is Bruno. I'm an artist, designer and an illustrator from India. I put up my imperfections in the form of shapes, colors, and patterns. I've created art books that have been exhibited around the world. And my last Skillshare class was about transforming everyday objects into art pieces. What do your own uniqueness and point of view in your work is the most important thing that you can do to stand out. And that can happen when you're comfortable in your own unique visual language. So in this course, through step-by-step process, we go further to experiment with art. Right? From getting the inspiration to executing it, documenting it, and presenting and finally to the audience. I will share my process with you to find the right kind of inspiration and tools that are required to transform into unique and wonderful patterns. We will go through the entire process from the stretch to the execution in a step-by-step manner in creating patterns from RD. Not only that, you will also learn how to document and executed to present it to your audience as a final product. So this course might be for anyone who has got the basic tools, basic ideas, and it's trying to express through art. You need not be an artist or a designer to take this course. Or you can meet anywhere and even date anyone else's art to begin with and get into the process of experimentation and later develop your own style and experiment with it. Include wonderful patterns. Let's Be fearless and try to create something that is yet to be created. 2. Class Overview: So today we are going to learn how to create patterns from your art. In the end, you will be able to learn how to find inspiration, what kind of tools to use, what kind of art you have to choose to make patterns from. And a step-by-step process in bite-sized classes from start to finish, where we learn how to create patterns from the scratch from an art piece. You will realize that all the tools you need to create, the art patterns are all around you and you don't need to go anywhere. You can create your own patterns from wherever you are after doing this course. So I hope to inspire you to create Benton's by covering all these topics. How to make patterns for your art. On choosing the right kind of part for making patterns. What tools to use for creating art? What other things you can await, and how can you go into an experimentation mode? Work in progress scenes of my previous transformations. Documenting art with your existing form in depths to package the art Iranians. I'm going to show you a seamless transformation of art into an odd pattern. In this class. I'll take you through the fun process from the scratch to the finish to transform the art around you on your own art into beautiful patterns. So let's get the creative juices flowing and jump right into the class. 3. Tools You Need: So I use very basic tools to make my art wherever I go. Because I like to keep it very simple, uncluttered, straight forward, and I like to keep my tools very handy. One arm distance so that whenever the patient strikes, I should be able to create something very quickly. It really gives me the comfort and the MySpace to create anywhere in any time. So here are some of the tools that I use to make my art. A phone or an iPad with Adobe Capture app installed, a working camera device. You're choosing iPhone or an iPad to document and package your creation for an audience. Tripod or a stand to document. These are some of the basic, basic tools that I use to create art and document heart. And like I said, I tried to keep them very nearby and if one understands so that whenever I want to clear something, I should be able to do it quickly and move on to the next project. But you can totally use your tools as per your art practice, but do make sure that they don't become a hindrance in the process of creation. 4. Finding The Right Art: So in this class we will learn how to find the right kind of art to transform it into a pattern. And you do not have to worry. If you're not an artist or a designer, you can just choose whatever is around you or any other artists work to create patterns. The idea is to go full, experiment, more, goes zigzag, explore, and see what can be created, what has not been created yet. So number one is line drawings. Line drawings make for a great order to make patterns because they ask for a symmetrical treatment to begin with symmetry. And you can go from abstract to minimal or something that is just created with few strokes. Every dime. It'll give you a unique and have different result. And it's so much fun to work with line drawings. They can be made from benzyl, from Ben, from sketch pens, from anything. But every day, like I said, it will give you an interesting desert. So do try out if you're not an artist or designer to pick up something that is made with just lines and see what pattern you can create. The next is watercolor. Different kinds of textures give you a different kind of texture, patterns. And watercolor is one of my favorite things to use for patterns because it gives you that extra human does you can see the water extra, and then the resulting pattern, you see it has that texture. Then it is very delightful to see. The watercolor paintings are one of the most interesting ways you can create buttons because it was created on a textured paper to begin with, or on some kind of a special art paper. Extra gets transformed into your final pattern and it's a very magical way to see your final results. So do try out something that is made from watercolors to make patterns. Because things like the density or pink, the kind of paper texture, the kind of colors use, the density of columns, the intensity of colors will give all different kinds of prisms. And the next is my favorite, which is digital drawing. I do a lot of digital drawings and also analog drawings, which could be the line drawings or the watercolors. That's why I've picked these three broad categories. Of course, if you have your own art style, you can pick and choose from your own existing are standing. There could be anything, but these are just the broad directions. If you don't have anything to start with, you can pick any of those three categories. So coming back to the digital drawings, they're the most interesting ways to create patterns because one, you can have the ability to take them everywhere and anywhere you want because of their portability, you can just scan them into your iPad, open the app and create something and have fun with it. And also, they give you the flexibility to create patterns that are scalable. Because if you have something that is created as a vector or to begin with, if you transform them into patterns, it will give you that option of scalability. And later if you want to have a merchandise collection or paper route, or some kind of a physical manifestation of your design. The digital drawing gives you the maximum flexibility in terms of the quality of the final outcome that is printable as well. Again, as I said, nor an artist or a designer, just don't worry, big anything that is around you. It could be also be local or it could be just anything in Pig, anything. It could be a beach from your favorite book and that also gets them into the battery. The idea to begin with insulin, have fun, experiment, and then need to create your own style into your practice to have consistency in. So don't worry about yellow. If you're not an artist. Where to find art form, you can just pick anything and create fantastic results. 5. The Process: So welcome to the part of the class where we will discuss the process. The process is everything. And it can be different for every individual. For some, it starts with a visual. For others, it can start with the words. There are unlimited ways of doing the same thing. So I will share some tips with you that will make your process smooth. Number one, we all know that all creative individuals suffer from procrastination in one way or the other. But the bad news is, procrastination doesn't get any work done. You can just drill into the thought of doing that small project or the big project on that installation idea or some other thing. But it will always remain in your head. Then you procrastinated and just take them up. So don't pink and just begin. Discipline always works. In a fast-paced environment where we are constantly distracted with notifications on the corners, messages, social media, and everything else. It becomes all the more important to put your work discipline so that your art does not suffer. Because without discipline, forget finishing the project. Might not be able to even started. Forget perfection. The number one way of delaying your work and the number one way of North study is by thinking that your work will be perfect. Many people remain uninitiated because it takes their work should be ten out of ten to start with. Or even worse, they start comparing their work with their favorite designer or an artist even before this time themselves. So when we start, perfection should be the last thing we should be thinking of because it will hinder your process at every stage. So the idea is to phase out perfection slowly so that you are just in the state of creating without over analyzing it. Building the right kind of audience takes time. You can think that you will share your work and thousands of people will start liking it and sharing it. It will be the fastest recipe to disappoint yourself. The audience that is required for your buck is the right kind of audience for your work will take time and it needs patients to build that kind of audience. So when you're creating, don't think about bending your audience. That should be the byproduct of your consistent work. Which brings me to my next point, which is consistency, prints rewards. Doing it once in a while and expecting great prisms is again a recipe to disappoint yourself. You have to show up and putting the work every single day so that over a period of time, it builds up and it will reap you long-term benefits. And last but not the least, have fun. If you're not having fun, become a task. Then it becomes a task. Will take before doing it and render your thing before doing it. You might not be in a constant state of flow, constant state of creating in cost of state of fun. So it's a very, very important that you do your practice with a lot of fun quotient. So now that we know the ingredients to make your process smoother, I will show you how I go about my own process. Begins with an eyepiece. Just pick up any of your RBCs. Or if you're an artist or a painter, pick up any art and start making things. Sometimes just doing this will give you enough ideas to make something unique. Three omega, let lose your mind so that there are no boundaries, no endpoints and objectives. Try to tap the subconscious mind and let the magic happen. Let your mind wander. Use all the options. Then making anything digital, it's important to use all options available to you in a software. Oftentimes, there are features, options that he does to grade things. Why I said anybody embrace experimentation? Experimentation is the holy grail of producing something that's never been. So don't be afraid of it and see experimentation at every step. There should be no end to it. Know when to stop. Last but not least, no way to stop the process and make your credential. So that was an in-depth peek into my process. I hope it has helped you and help your process in terms of providing value so that you can gain all the things that apply to make your process has been much more richer and smaller. 6. Documenting 1: Why making art has its own fun question presented to the viewer, is the final destination and no part is complete without the viewer. Hence, presenting it to the audience must be a very good job. And that begins with documentation. I generally document my art with very, very basic equipments that are going to be generally use default. You don't have to acquire or buy new stuff just to document your app, you can actually do it. But the basic form that is available to you, the idea is not a documented in a perfectly studio finish, but the idea is to show the process to your audience. 7. Documenting 2: You can have any form with a decent working camera and enough memory space to record a high-quality video. You can document the process in different ways and you can mix and match for different platforms. Let's talk about each of the techniques in detail. Time-lapse is a very effective way to document a piece of work that needs to represent a long process capsule in a short amount of time. This technique you can use rocky mantle, entire process from start to finish. Slow motion should be definitely used often as it captures the finer nuances of pure art, like strokes, textures, colors, light, etc. A macro view arthropod process in an interesting execution. It keep the audience engaged. As oftentimes, it's intriguing to watch a French. Here's a tip you can use while you're making your slow motion, slow motion capture to happen effectively, you need to be in a decent natural light. Otherwise the flickers and you won't get the right. Video. Number three is that a static frames are generally an old-school capture technique. It does not apply to any special stage of the process, but you can capture that point in time of your database. Again, you can take hyper close-ups, right angles to show you a workspace. Perspectives, blurred shorts, and so on and so forth. Static shots are the most effective way to document, without a doubt, the last finished shot as well. So these are some of the basic techniques that you can use to document your process and document your art. I generally try to keep it very straightforward, need an uncluttered as I use my tools wherever I need and I keep them handy. Now we have learned a great deal of documentation and document in your artworks. Perfection is equally important unnecessarily to edit the parts that are not required or there are unnecessary to present it to your final audience. And that's exactly what we're going to learn in our next class, which is about editing your work so that you can get that perfect shot that can be shared with your audience. So let's move to the next class and learn how to make your videos and photos that you've documented for your art. Make hundred percent finished. 8. Editing Your Work: So as we discussed in the last chapter, just documenting your art is not enough. Presenting it to the right audience requires a finite amount of editing. Whether it's linked, cropping the frame to the just very short, or adjusting the contrast or saturation or brightness. It will just make your artwork much more presentable to your final audience. So when it comes to video, I did the video in my phone itself, in the basic default editor. That makes it quick and instant as per my requirement. The orphan record the parts in the building at the end of the video when we are documenting that are extra and not require. So it's good to cut them off for the final audience. Comes to static shots, we must adjust the sharpening, the correct framing as per the composition of the shock. Specifically in the case of patterns, we want to make sure that what part of the pattern we want to show you to the audience. Sometimes we want to show that these are, in which case that would be a much more macro, one part of the pattern kind of short. And sometimes we want to show the full battery, which will be the full shortly before loading. It all depends on the kind of crop that you want to give and how you want to present it to the final audience depending on what kind of stage your arc. The art pattern isn't. So after you're done with the basic editing and adjusting the contrast or the saturation or the cropping off your bed and you're finally ready to showcase to your audience. In my case, it is generally on Instagram. 9. Final Thoughts : So that was amazing. We learn everything, right from finding the inspiration, right kind of tools, right kind of art for your patterns and creating patterns in a step-by-step bite-sized classes. Now you have all the ingredients to be comfortable in your own style and experiment with it. I really hope this class leaves you with the confidence to be comfortable your own art, style and experiment, but more importantly, grow with it. I want to see what you come up during the course. So please do share it in the form of the project. I'm here to see those wonderful creations and patterns from your art. I wish you all the best for the future and I'll see you around in your work. Thank you so much.
