About This Class

This course is for all Tokyo Revengers lovers!

I'm going to show you how to make two ideas of statement earrings for one ear (you can also do a pair, just double the supplies). Each character has a unique piece of earring.

One of the ideas is Koko's earing(Hajime Kokonoi), who has a simple chain earring that is super easy to make. You might upcycle your old jewelry, give a new life and make this project.

Another idea is inspired by Bonten symbol. It's not an earring itself, but why don't we make it that way?

Material and Supplies for each earring (Double the materials if you want a pair of earrings)

  • a rectangular wooden piece (10 cm)
  • black acrylic paint
  • white acrylic paint (or any other light color)
  • 2 jumprings
  • 1 screw eye pin
  • 1 earring hook or clasp
  • round nose plies
  • a brush

Optional (you may skip some steps, that way you won't need these supplies):

  • a type of varnish (clear nail polish/varnish gloss/epoxy raisin or UV raisin)
  • a brush for varnish gloss
  • sandpaper

1. Intro: Hey, everyone. Welcome to my class where I'll show you two different designs of earrings, both inspired by Tokyo Adventures, manga and Anima. The first one features the Bonton symbol. It's bold, edgy and makes a statement all on its own. The second one is a minimalistic earring. The second one is this minimalistic chain earring. It's slick, lightweight, and perfect if you want something subtle with a bit of animal flavor. Also for this chain earring, you can actually upcycle your old jewelry that you don't wear. It's a win win situation. Both designs are beginner friendly and don't require fancy tools, just a few basic materials and telittle creativity. Let's dive in and bring a bit of taker Avenger style to your look. 2. Bonten Design: Supplies & Tools: To make this Bonton symbol logo inspired statement earring, you need a wooden rectangle piece or a ruler of 10 centimeters. Black and white paint, earing hooks or clasps, whatever you prefer, two jump rings and one screw epin and a few optional products that you might need, but it all depends on your choice. You might need a sending paper to send the surface of the wooden ruler. To finish the project, you might need a type of gloss. It can be a clear nail polish, varnish gloss, or a poxy resin. The choice is up to you. You can also skip this step. You will also need a brush to paint and a pair of round pliers, and you might need a brush for the varnish. Now, let's start creating. 3. Bonten: Step 1 - Sandpaper (optional): As you can see the ruler obviously has these black markings, and we have two options here. But before we start, if you already have a clear wooden rectangular piece, without any markings paints, you can just keep this whole process and move to the next step. Option one, you can use a sand paper to remove the black paint and smooth the surface. I think it's the easiest and the fastest way. I send it about one or 2 minutes and all black paint was gone. Another option I will tell you in the next step. 4. Bonten: Step 2 - Paint (white/light color background): And option number two, if you don't want to send the piece or you don't have sand paper, you can layer your white paint until you don't see any markings. You can use another light paint to layer it. So whatever step you prefer to send the paper or to layer it, still, you need to cover your wooden piece in a light paint so you can have this base. You can use white paint, so it looks like in mangum, but we don't know for sure if it was white, or you can use any other paint. I use this light beige pearly color. Here you can clearly see the difference. On the left, I'm layering the paint, and on the right, I use sandpaper. Just don't forget to let it dry before applying a new layer of paint. That's why I prefer using sandpaper. It's faster and Tsium. So if you have the chance to get some, I definitely recommend it. 5. Bonten: Step 3 - Outline, Paint and Color in: Now comes the hardest part. We need to copy the design from the picture. I have already outlined the frame using a rule pencil. Now it's time to draw the design inside. You can use a pencil or a black line to make a sketch. Then fill it in with black paint latum. I personally prefer using a thin paint brush. I decided to start with the lower part of the design. I'm drawing the outline of the arc in the center. I'm not filling it in just yet. I'll leave it that for lam. And next, I drew a curved line just below the arc. Leaving a small gap on the left side, I kept checking the reference photo constantly. That gap, I drew two small lines going downward. Now we have something that looks like the silhouette of a spike. It's point on the left and on the right, it has more of a trapezoid shape. Try to follow the same design. I know mine doesn't look exactly like the picture, but that's okay. It looks similar enough. The goal here is to create inspired earing by this manga symbol, not an exact copy. After outlining the bottom design, I drew a circle above the arc. I started with a small black.in the center, then free handed a ring around it. Next, I added the curved line that surrounds the circle. Try to match the thickness of the lines. On the right side, the lines start thick, then become thinner as it curves upward and then thickens again before tapering to a point. Now let's move to the final curved line above that. Start from the right corner, make the line sick in the beginning, and let it gradually become thinner as you move to the left. Then draw two spike lines coming from the top downwards. They should cross over the top curved line and the second curved line. Add two dots just to the left of each spike line above the top curved line. Then below that same line to the right of the spiky lines. Paint two slightly smaller dots. Don't worry if your lines aren't perfectly smooth. We'll fix that later when we color everything in. And finally, it's time to color. Take your time. Don't rush. It's easy to make mistakes here. Keep looking at the reference image and carefully fill everything in. Once you're done, you can go over the lines again to smooth them out if anything looks off. Now let's move to the next step. I 6. Bonten: Step 4 - Varnish Gloss: Now we just need to varnish our wooden piece. This will help smooth everything out and protect the pain from scratches. You can use whatever you have at home, varnish gloves, clear nail polish, epoxy resin, or UV resin. I used varnish glos, applied it evenly over the entire piece, and waited for it to dry completely. A a 7. Bonten: Step 5 - Assemble Everything: The last thing to do is assemble everything. Take your screw pin and screw it into the top of the piece. Since it's wood and not too thick, it should be easy to do by hand. To make sure the urine faces at the right direction, you will need to use two jump rings. Grab your first jump in and open it using pliers. Since I have long nails, I use two pairs of pliers, one to hold the ing and other to open it. Once it's open, attach the jumper into the screw pin, and then close it. Now, take your second jumping and open it the same way. Slide your earing hook or clasp onto it, then attach it to the first jump ring. Close it up, and now we are done. 8. Koko Earring: Supplies & Tools: And now let me show you another piece of earring. It's inspired by Cocom. He has this chain earring that is extremely easy to do. It's faster than the Bnton one, but it also looks cute. You can even upcycle your old jewelry or buy new supplies. Look through your drawers, and you might find old earrings and chains that you don't wear. You can give ane life to the sinks and make one or two earrings for you. For this day, you just need a chain, an earring hook, one jump ring, and a pair of pliers. Let's start making. 9. Koko: Step 1 - Assemble (Chain and Stud) : Firstly, I decided to assemble the chain and stud. I'll show you two different chains and how you can assemble them. If you have a sin chain as I here, you just need an earring hook and the jumping is not necessary for you. You need to open the first link and attach the Sud loop. Since the chain is quite thin, it can be easily attached to the loop without a jump ring. Don't forget to close the link once everything is assembled. You can even shake it a little bit to make sure nothing falls off. If it does, you may need to close the link more tightly. However, if you have a thick chain that can't go through the start loop directly, you will need to jump ring. In this case, you don't need to open the link, open the jump ring, attach the start and the chain to it and close it. While it's done. 10. Koko: Step 2 - Measure the Length: Now the most important question, how long should the earing be? Well, that's entirely up to you. I decided to try the earns on first, which is why I sampled everything before cutting the chain. Stand in front of a mirror and place your fingers where you want the earns to end. You can also use a ruler to measure the exact lengths you want. I did this with a thinner chain. And once you've decided on the length, just use players to open a link in the chain, remove the access chain and the open link, and your earring is done. 11. Final look tokyo revengers : And how they turned out, I absolutely love both designs and I would actually make a pair of earrings because I don't usually wear one earring. But if you wear this kind of hairstyles where you show one side of ear and another is covered by hair, then these kind of earrings might be absolutely perfect for you. Bonton earring is perfect when you want to stand out, it's immediately eye catching and works beautifully with a minimal outfit becoming the star of your look, or you can pair it with bold and colorful clothes. It will complement them just as well. The minimalist chain earring is perfect for everyday wear. It's clean, subtle and looks great paired with different stud earrings, especially if you have multiple piercings. Thanks for watching and heavy crafting.
