About This Class

Are you tired of playing the same rhythm/strumming patterns over and over again?

Are you ready to learn some new rhythm/strumming patterns?

Are you a beginner, just learning how to play the guitar?

Have you played guitar for awhile and need some inspiration to get you out of a strumming slump?

Try "The Rhythm Guitar Strumming Catalogue" by Greg Tabone. Learn from a professional musician who has taught guitar privately for decades, and taught music in the public education system (K to Grade 12) for over 32 years. I know the steps needed for students to learn, and how to help students learn for themselves with some guidance. Students must be exposed to many different musical concepts to learn. I will be presenting every one-bar strumming pattern for guitar in 10 volumes so that each guitarist will play EVERY pattern possible. That way they can be inspired to create their own music or change the same old strumming patterns they have used since they learned the guitar. As Einstein says, "if you do the same things, the same way you always did them and expect a different outcome, then that is the definition of insanity". I challenge you to try my course and to play every pattern I show you. You will definitely learn something new - perhaps changing your playing for ever!

Each volume will consist of:

* 8 patterns

* a step-by-step guide with rhythmic notation on the screen

* beginner to advanced levels - presented in parts of the course

* downloadable pdfs

* drum beats to accompany your practice

The 3 parts to each Volume include: Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Levels

Part 1 - each rhythm pattern is demonstrated at a simple level on the acoustic guitar using one chord and focuses on learning the rhythm and not the chords.

Part 2- each rhythm pattern is played with 8 different chord progressions - the player should know the open/first position basic chords.

Part 3 - the electric guitar is used with drum tracks to show how the basic rhythms can be transformed into rock, metal, pop, or techno rhythms using simple barre chords.  Again the focus is on the rhythms and not on the chords used. The user sees how the basic down and up patterns which are standard on the acoustic guitar can be transformed to all down strokes to change the feel of the music.

Anyone completing all of the volumes of pattern lessons will be exposed to patterns that they probably never have played before. Upon completion of these volumes, the player should be motivated to change the same old strumming patterns they have used over and over to new, and fun alternatives. Start today! I have it all ready for you to learn from!

1. Introduction: Are you tired playing the same rhythm, strumming patterns over and over again? Are you ready to learn some new rhythm strumming patterns? Are you a beginner? Just learning how to play the guitar? Have you played guitar for awhile and need some inspiration to get you out of a strumming slump. Rhythm guitar strumming catalog by Greg toboggan can help. Eight patterns that each volume step-by-step guide with rhythmic notation to get her to advance level downloadable PDFs, drumbeat to accompany your practice. Volume one contains 81 bar patterns, quarter-inch note rhythms. Future volumes will cover all patterns. Three parts to each volume. Part one, beginner videos to play along with a different rhythms notated. Part two, intermediate made rhythms with eight chord progressions play along and PDFs are provided. Or three, advanced eight rhythms used in new ways. Ideas for alternate techniques used on the electric guitar. Rhythm guitarist, catalog by Greg to bone. You will be inspired. 2. Learning Pattern #73: Patterns 73 and we'll use the D chord and the rhythm is down, down. And we can try that a little faster. 1234. Kind of a fun pattern. Really liked that one. 3. Learning Pattern #74: Patterns 74. And again, we'll use the D chord. And this one is similar to the previous one, but it's not. So try it a little faster. So you've got three ups in a row there. 234. Really liked that one too, is kinda neat with the ups in there, with the strong beat, the two strong beat down patterns. 4. Learning Pattern #75: Patterns 75 we've got with a D chord, and it's similar to the previous one, but it's down. It's funny with this rhythm. You really want to emphasize that first beat. It's funny how it goes through. That's just the way I feel on that. Maybe you don't feel that, but I feel that groove really with the ups and downs. And for that it's emphasizing the strong beat on what? Let's try a little faster. 234. 5. Learning Pattern #76: Patterns 76. Patterns 76. We use the D chord and the pattern is down, up, down, down. Let's try a little faster. 1234. 6. Learning Pattern #77: Pattern 77, and we'll use the G chord for this one. And the pattern is down, up, down, down, up, up, down, down. So that's probably one of the most popular patterns in this volume so far. And patterns 77 little faster, 234. I really liked that one. 7. Learning Pattern #78: Patterns 78, and we'll use a G chord again and the pattern is down. Let's try a little faster. 1234. 8. Learning Pattern #79: Butter and 79 and we'll use with a G chord. And it's again, it's almost playing all of the eighth notes except the four beat, which would be tied over from the three end slowly. It will be like this. 234, again pattern and 79 is a very popular rhythm like 77, and I'm sure you'd use a lot. Let's try a little faster. 234. 9. Learning Pattern #80: And pattern AT is a shorter version. It's just using a G chord. Let's try it a little faster. 234. Neat one. 10. Learning Pattern #81: Pattern 81. So these are your five extra rhythms that we didn't have in our previous volumes. So you're getting 13 and volume ten and pattern 81, we'll go back to a D chord. And the pattern is like the previous one. Similarity. It's going to be very cool. Kind of an odd one I wouldn't have thought of until I went through and wrote all these out. Here we go again a little faster. 1234. 11. Learning Pattern #82: Pattern AD2, and we'll use the D chord and it goes down faster, 234. 12. Learning Pattern #83: And pattern 83, and we'll use the G chord. Pattern is down a little faster, 234. 13. Learning Pattern #84: And pattern 84 go back to a D chord. And this has three ups, one down on the first beat and it goes like this. Little faster, 234. 14. Learning Pattern #85: Pattern 85. We will go back to a G chord and it's gonna be for UPS this time after the down on the first piece. So it's very cool. One like that one a lot. Try that one again a little faster. 234. So that it really creates tension. Really liked that really cool. 15. Patterns with Chord Progressions: And now we'll be adding our chord progressions again using the open position chord progressions, open position or first position of the chords that we use down here on the neck. So we're not really going up and down the neck just to get you practicing rhythms and then applying them to a chord progression, which is what you would do when you're playing a guitar or piano, or ukulele or any other instrument that provides the rhythmic accompaniment. 16. Pattern #73 with Chord Progressions: Patterns 73, the chords are G, E minor, C, and D, and the progression is down. 234. Let's try a little faster. 234. 17. Pattern #74 with Chord Progressions: Patterns 74. Let's try that a little faster. 234. 18. Pattern #75 with Chord Progressions: Patterns 75, the chords are a, D, E, and E7. Play them like this. 234, a little faster, 234. 19. Pattern #76 with Chord Progressions: Patterns 76, the chords are a minor, D minor, E and E7. And the pattern is a little faster, 234. 20. Pattern #77 with Chord Progressions: Patterns 77, the courts or C, a minor, D minor, and g. And the pattern is, we'll try that a little faster. 1234. 21. Pattern #78 with Chord Progressions: Patterns, 78 cords or C, a minor, D minor, G7. And the pattern is down, up, down, up, down, up 234, a little faster, 234. 22. Pattern #79 with Chord Progressions: Patterns 79, the chords are C, a minor, f, and g, and they're mostly ethanol, so it'll be a little faster. 1234. 23. Pattern #80 with Chord Progressions: Pattern AT, and the pattern is very simple, down a little faster, 1234. If we try and chunk it here, it'll be. You can play with that and see if you like it. 24. Pattern #81 with Chord Progressions: Pattern 81. So these are the extra five rhythms to get us finished, volume ten. And the chords are G, E minor, C, and D. And the pattern is almost like the last one. The pattern is kind of a weird one, but cool nevertheless, little faster. 234. 25. Pattern #82 with Chord Progressions: Pattern AD2, the courts, or G, E minor, C and D7. And the pattern is a little faster, 234. 26. Pattern #83 with Chord Progressions: And pattern E3. That's a few more up rhythms in here. And the chords are ADE and D7, 234, foster 234. All right, good. 27. Pattern #84 with Chord Progressions: Pattern 84 is what? The chords, a minor, D minor, E and E7. And the pattern is a little faster, 234. 28. Pattern #85 with Chord Progressions: The last pattern, 85, the courts or C, a minor, D minor, and g, The pattern is 234. Little faster, 234. 29. Applications for Pattern #73: Part three of volume ten of the rhythm guitar strumming catalog by Greg to bone. Let's try that pattern in Iraq style. 30. Applications for Pattern #74: Let's try that pattern in a rock style. Let's try that pattern in a reggae style. 31. Applications for Pattern #75: Let's try that pattern in Iraq style. 32. Applications for Pattern #76: Let's try this with a soft rock or country style. 33. Applications for Pattern #77: Fifties rock style. 34. Applications for Pattern #78: Let's try that pattern in Iraq style. 35. Applications for Pattern #79: Let's try that pattern in Iraq style 79 is almost the same. 36. Applications for Pattern #80: 80s rock style. 37. Applications for Pattern #81: Let's try this with a soft rock or country style. 38. Applications for Pattern #82: Let's try this with a soft rock or country style. 39. Applications for Pattern #83: 80s rock style. 40. Applications for Pattern #84: Country style, faster. 41. Applications for Pattern #85: Country style, faster. E5 is almost the same. 42. Project Outline: For your project, I would like you to take one or two strumming patterns from any of the volumes. Or if you've just done one so far ticket from the one volume, take two patterns and try and play them together. So you might take a pattern from the beginning of the course and then take one from another course, put them together and see if you can come up with two strumming patterns that might be something like down, down, down, down, down. And see how 2-bar patterns work. And you'll find that if you play with a three-bar pattern or a four-bar pattern, it's a little harder to get the musicality of it because we don't tend to think of music in three or four bars when we're streaming, it's usually one bar or two bars, but you can experiment with it. There's no rules and music is if it sounds good and it plays easily for you and comfortably then it's the right thing to do. So experiment, you may come up with a new genre of music and Evernote. So once again, your project for this course would be to take one or two patterns and practice melding them together. And you can do whatever keywords you want. And please post your results and let me know how you've done. And if you want me to add anything to the course and future courses, whether I should get into 2-bar patterns or stick with the one bar or if there's other things that you'd like me to do. So thank you very much for taking the course. I hope you enjoy the project. 43. Thank You!!!: Thank you so much for taking the rhythm guitar chord catalog course, and very happy that you've went through this volume, and I certainly hope you try all the volumes. There are ten volumes in this catalog with 85 different patterns. So I've gone through and found all possible patterns with eighth notes and quarter notes in one measure. And I've put them all together for you to be able to play. This should be easy to use. And I hope you go back and use it as a resource for playing in the future. If there's a song you've been playing and you've been using the same core pattern all the time. This will give you a new perspective on it and I hope you will try some of these patterns. Some are really tricky to play, and once you get them, they're so simple and they add so much to the music. So thank you so much for taking the course, and I hope you take all ten volumes of my rhythm guitar strumming course.
