1. OVERVIEW: but a beautiful name. It ISS but a beautiful name. It isn the name of Jesus. My, I think that I'll decide my song like, uh, all right, that makes it more fluid, right? 2. Lesson 1 - Introduction to the Keyboard: Hello and welcome to today's lesson. Um, for this lesson would be taking a look at the keyboard, introducing you to the keys on the keyboard, the names of the various keys and what's we can do with each of the notes on the keyboard Just starts with will take. Ah, quick look at how to position your fingers on the keyboard. So it's very important that when we play the piano, we make sure that our fingers are positioned correctly on the keyboard and how you position your fingers who determine if you're going to feel pain in your hands or not. And it's also going to improve how well you play, um, the keys. So another to position your hands on the keyboard. It's important to, uh, adopt a push on the keys like you have a ball in your hand. So just imagine you haven't a ball in your hand or your fingers should be shaped like that of a cut. Maybe so you need to imagine having a ball in your hand and place your hands on the keys. This way, you don't have to make them Lyle down flat like this or like that, and The reason is that if when your fingers are straight down like this, since all your think individual fingers have different lens, you will not be able to reach the individual nodes separately or equally. But if you curve them like that's, then you have, ah, a flat level for all the fingers. And the second reason is that if you have your fingers lane on the keyboard this way, you might not be able to reach any of the keys with your farm. So it's important that you position your fingers like this on the keyboard, so it's ah, just to start with one thing that will take a look at the The first thing that we will take a look at will be the individual keys on the keyboard. On the keyboard you have, as you can see you have, why it's keys and Blackie's, and they all do the same thing. The white keys are cold, natural keys and the black keys are and how money keys. We wouldn't focus too much on the theory at this point, but then the most critical things that we need to forge ahead of the things that I'll be mentioning in this course. Now take notes. Um, these wide skis, you realize that they are spaced in between sets off black keys so you can see here that you have to set off to black. He's and then a set off three black. He's onto black. He's on three in that order on this piano that I'm using. This has 88 keys. So if you count all the individual nodes there are 88 keys. It might be possible that you have less a number of keys that you may have five octaves. There's an eight OC table 7.5 octave keyboard, which I'll explain more later. You may have a shorter one, but is the same thing. So now, in order to identify the names of the keys, would use these black set off two and three black. He's as an example or as a people's point. Now I know that there's a white he that counts before the two Blackie's and everywhere on the keyboard is going to look exactly the same. So the first thing that we're going to memorize, we're only going to memorize two notes at this point, and from there will be able to easily identify the rest of the keys. So one thing to first. Want to note the white ski that comes before the two Blackie's is called C. So this is seeing okay so you can find several sees on the cable. If you have a keyboard in front of you, try to locate all the other sees on the keyboard. So, for example, that's a C and thats a C because it comes before the to Lucky's. That's another seen another one. That's a C. That's a C C. And this is a CS Well, but you don't see the black keys. Okay, so just by annoying that this is C. And if we follow alphabetically, we can just if you know how to say alphabets from a to G, at least then you be able to find out the rest off the of the notes on the keyboard. So if this is a C, then the next one is D. Okay, so alphabetical is going to be an E on F A G. And while the next thing to notice there's no h on the keyboard, so a to G, his way ends, and the moment he gets Weegee, the next notes comes back toe on a so that's an A and B and A C. So we have to to cease in this octave Now, in order to quickly identify the other keys. It will be good to memorize, too, so that you don't always have to start from C and find the other keys. So the two that I like my students to memorize R C and F. So wherever I see the three black he's. I know that the white ski that comes before isn't if. Okay, so that's a f f f f here. That's an F A swell. Okay, And that's another F Yes, there you go. So, for example, if I'm to ask you what's where's f on the West G on the keyboard, then you can easily indicate that this is a G because this is F Okay, so this is F than definitely that's a G. So for AMs, exercise west be on the keyboard. So you just need to remember the two that remember, I see an F so be is obviously closest closer to a C. So I look at my C and then I know offer basically becomes before the sea. So that's a B. Okay, so you have. So let's let's try another one. Can you find on a on the keyboard? A. Okay, So if you can just choose to start from F because you know, f candy for the three Blackie's, and then you go, then that's a G, and they'll be in a okay, or you could start from a C and come back was that's a B, and then that's on a So these are the ace on the way. All right, Reagan. So the these These are the names off the whites keys on the keyboard. You have a B C D E f G a B, and back to the scene. Okay, break it. So now we'll take a quick look. Um, at the nesting would take a look at Ah, these black. He's how to call these black keys and it naming these Blackie's us as long as you know the name off your why It's key. It's very easy to name the Blackie. So notice that's thes black. He's come in between two white skis. So every black he has two white skis surrounded them. Okay, so That's another black he and has two white case. So you can see this white black he as a child, and then the two white keys has the mother and the father. Okay, so that's an easy way of seeing this. So if you want to name thick black, he you need to ask yourself which to white keys surrounded Blackie. And here you can see this. Blackie's honored by a C and okay, now says this black, he it's higher. So on the keyboard. If you when you move to the right, you're going higher. So that's going high on the keyboard. When you move to the left, you're going lower, okay? And says this black. He is higher than the sea. There's a movement in music all the shop, so that's a sharp movement. So if the black is higher than the sea, then you call it a C shop. In other words, it's a shepherd and see OK, so this notice call decision. But the nice thing about these Black Keys is that they all have two names. The White Keys only have one name, but the end Harmonic keys or Blackie's have two names, so it's either called a C shop or, if you want to use the D, and it's called a D flat because of music, when you move backwards or down, it's a flat movement, so that's a C shop or a D flat, so you can see on your screen that a C shop is what is being indicated there. You can also call it a D flat, okay, and we can use this for all the other notes, so just try and find the names of the other keys. This is going to be a DIY shop because it's higher. Its image in D and E says that they're going to be a DIY shop on E flats. Okay, so you can see e flat on your screen, but you can call it a DIY shop as well. In the same way, this will be an F sharp and a G or G flat. This will be a G sharp or a flat, and that will be on a shop or a B flat. So just do a little exercise and try to find the names off all these keys that we've discussed. Now shower end the lesson with, um and Let's will exercise that you should be doing every day. You know that to get your fingers very used to the keys. Okay, So now to do this exercise, you just have to place your fingers on the keys. Okay? You I want you to put you put this finger on the sea, and then let's all the other fingers light nicely on there. So you're going to let me a quick introduction to how we number the fingers on your right. And that's 12345 on the left hand. This will be a 1234 and five. OK, so you put one on the sea like that's and capture that all the five notes Make sure your five fingers have somewhere to play with and then do the simple exercise of 12345432 When I want you to do it very slowly. So their fingers you get used to the board. It's not important to go for us. It's important. Plates correctly and slowly so. 123 for 5432123454321 You can play with me and you, then you after playing this where a while Until you able to slavery verifies. Okay, then you try with the left hand as well. 123454321 So you play for a long time on. You can do this flawlessly. Then you try to put them together. Okay. Make sure that this time you're playing your hands are not hanging like that or sacked this way. Make sure that you always have in your hands. Curved nicely on the keyboard. So 12345432123454321 Excellent. So, for your exercise for this lesson, make sure you able to identify all the keys on the keyboard. Ask a friend to help you out by pointing the key, and you try to name them very quickly and you're sick and exercise will be too. Do these finger exercises. The 12345432123455432123454321 Okay. And by building these, uh, flexibility in the fingers, we can easily move to the next lesson. So thank you for today's lesson. And I hope you learned something today and see you in the next one. 3. Lesson 2 - The Major Scale: Hello and welcome to today's lesson this lesson, too. And we'll be taking a look at the major scale. So this is a very important concept in musical plane um, the piano. For every instrumental you land, it's very important to know how to play your major skills. And ah, the only thing you need to know before this this will be covered in less and one and in less. And when we talked about how to name the individual keys, that's a C. That's an F. And if you are taking this lesson, then you already know this if not out, are advised to take less than one before proceeding with this lesson. Okay, so the major skill is something that we're all very familiar with, which most people sing us. Dorie Me first patio, You re me fa so la todo So if if you've heard this before, that's a major skill and that's a fundamental block off most of the music that you hear how there any other complex thing is built off off the simple concept. Okay, Now, in order for us to land now, the easiest major skill as you can see us, the C major scale. So this is a scene. And the easiest middle skill is when you play from sea all the way up to the sea and you have it. So that's a really Tito is very important that you also know thesis office, the soften notations. These are the during me faster, Latigo. And in other places, numbers I use is in the case. Will be one to be 45671 That's one. Anyone. Okay, now, this is if if c was only here the keyboard and you wouldn't need to lend any other concept . But then it gets a little different when you go to the other keys. For example, if you want to play for F, then it becomes so. You realize that a black notes has been introduced here. We want to use a very simple approach to be able to identify when these notes are supposed to be played. And what notes have to replay. That's what's time. Okay, um, two things that we need to learn before we jump into the major skills. Ah, movements. Okay, so there's something called a tone and a semi tone. So a tone on the keyboard is when you move from one note to another note by jumping on one note, jumping over. So for a tone movement, for example, if you on C and you want to move a tone to the right or upwards if the motor left, that's down. What's so If you want to move a tone upwards, you need to jump over at least unit a jump of a one key. So in this case, we hope over the sea shop and there we go to D. So if I move from C to D, that's a tone movement. Okay, so let's try and find other movements. So if I move from a C a d toe on E have hopped over the e flat or D shop, So this is also another tone movement. Okay, So, for example, if you are here and I say, move a tone up, you need to jump over this. So it's a very tricky one here. Ah, you need to take notes off this place. So this is it. Feel from here. You want to move a tone unit to hope over this and go here. That's a tone and the movie at us another tone in that order. So practice all your tone movements. 2nd 1 is a semi tone. So for a seminal movement, you don't hop over any key. You move right to the next key. So if you don't see Unit West do a cemetery movement, you move to the next skin as a C shop. And that's a semi John movement. Okay, so if I keep moving in cemetery, this is gonna be like this. Okay, Now take not off these areas. You're quite tricky. So if you are here on C and I ask you to move a semi tone down, you move right to this note. You know, movie occurs duster notes right next to it. Okay, So if we know our tone sim, it'll movements. Then we can easily play our measure scales. No, I noticed that if we use the c major scale as an example, this is really means, Teoh. Now you see that door to the ray as a tone movement. And if you moved to the me doesn't well toned movements but from the me to the far, there's no key in between. So that's a cemetery moment S o t all tones and from the T moving to the door. That's another semi tone. So that easy approach that I would advise you to take is to keep in mind two things that when you move from a me too a fire that's a semi tone. OK? And when you moved from a t tow a door, that's another semi tone power from this All other movements are tone movements. Okay, so if we want to apply this to the F major skill, for example so this is F so I need to start playing from the F and go all the way toe f So that's my doe became so don't know if I need to move to the ray. It's a tone, remember, Everything is a tone apart from the me to the fire and teach a dough. So no, I do a tone ray another tune me Now, as soon as I get to me, I remember what I was supposed to memories and me to find The symptoms are for me and it move right to the next game nor hoping far then and so I do continue miters la and a T and remember the T two does another symmetry. Very simple. Right? So you can try this. So the moment you play like that's you know what it is, then you can Okay, one more time. Okay. So let's apply the same thing to play. Ah, the G major skill. Okay, so for the G major scale, we start on the G, and then we go, this is the door. And then there Ray and me, But from the me to the far we know, it's a cemetery. So that then so large city Still a tone. So I need to hop off this one and then go to the door. Okay, so I play the skill. Okay, so we fled C, f and G. Then we try on a major scale, for example. So keep moving a tone tone semi turn, So tone, tone, tone, and 70. So another approach, which is very common approach in most off the books that you read. Now, what did they use a formula for the major skill known as tone tone, semi tone, tone, tone, tone and semi John. Okay, So if you want to play a major scale off, for example, um be okay. You start on the first notes. Then you start counting tone. Two tones summit on free tones and then a semi John. So it's sudden be and corn toned semi tone, then tone, tone, tone seven time. Okay, so I started gain usually called the 1st 0.0 So I say zero then or start tone tone Simba. Tone, tone, tone, tone submittal. Okay on. That's be major scale. So we can try for one more. May just kill. Um See, Chef may just kill. Okay, so you have Ah c sharp tone, semi tone tone tone tone semiautomatic again. See sharp tone tone symptoms tone, tone, tone Symington. Or if you use the other approach No, remember, And me fires a cemetery fires todo is a semi tone. Okay, so todo okay. Um yes, go around the keyboard. Your homework today is to take the individual keys. You start from the first key. So there are 12 keys on the keyboard. You have 1234567 whites keys and then five Blackie's So every at home work will be doing will be doing it in 12 keys. So the 12 keys and they're repeats okay to try and play the major skills off all the 12 keys. So you start your homework with the major skill. Don't bother about how to position your fingers. We talk about this in the later missing so you can play them anyhow you want. But I'll play the best fingering in this course. So for the first you go to the sea. Okay, When you get used to, that's you go to the sea shop. Okay, De, uh, deflect E f Okay, if shop ah k g a flat. Okay, B flat. And then oxidase e do this, um, homework. Together with your exercises. Finger exercises from the lesson one. Try and play all the major skills. Come back to this lesson. Slow it down. Make sure that the major skills that you are playing out in line with exactly what I'm playing us well, and make sure that your your ear is a very important tool. When you're playing music. Make sure that whatever your playing sounds good sounds as good as a during the faster latitude that everyone sings. Okay, thank you very much for joining this lesson. And hopefully you learned something new. Are you had a refresher course today and see you in the next Listen 4. Lesson 3 - Major Chords: Hello, everyone, and welcome to space. Listen, Um, today we'll be taking a look at major courts. So from the major skills that will end in lesson to will build on this to have a quick study of the major courts. Now, first, we'll take a look at that main approach for constructive major chords. And before the end of the lesson, I'll show you a quick trick to be able to identify all your major chords. Okay, so a major chord is, well, basically in music or in on the piano. Accord is made up off three notes. So has to be a minimum free notes. Or you can say more than two notes, sometimes two notes, also called courts, but more like Paschall calls. But a former full chord you need three or more? Not okay. So, for example, if I hit any three notes on the keyboard, it's a court hideous. That's accord. Um, it's accord. If I hit maybe all five notes on the keyboard, it's accord. That's a that's a cord. So these are all things, all court movements. Okay, so today we'll learn the most basic off all cords, and that's a major chord So for the major chord, it's cause comprise off three notes to a major chord falls under the bigger sets called triads. The Triads are courts made off only three notes, not more than three. And for major chords, you know pretty much plain. Though you pick a major skill is constructed out of a major skill, which will end the other time. So, for example, the C major skill and 12345 So if I pick at least the 1st 5 notes 12345 and select the one the three and a five. So the 13 of the five. Okay, so that's a C court. And because I'm starting undersea here and I'm playing it out of the C major scale, that's a C chord on your screen. You'll see a C, but you could also call it a C major chord. Okay, so that's a C major chord. And that's the easiest off all the major Corsica's has on Lee White notes. Now, if I do the same thing for the F major court, I go to the F major skill and play. Why, If you remember the major skill to play the court only need the 1st 512345 Okay. And then I pick out the 12313 and five So you can say Coon s. So that's how it solves us are the major major court sounds. OK, so, uh okay. And if want to try the same one for the G is going to be you pick from the 1st 5 notes and pick 13 and five. And that's a G major court. Okay, so let's take one that is a bit different. For example, if I go to a and go to the image of skill 12345 they want 2345 and the 1st 3 notes the 13 and 5135 There you have it. Ok, that's an a major chord. Now, in order to have this Ah, quite easy. I'll show you a quick trick to play these, but it's also important to no how to find these courts in all off for all the 12 keys on the keyboard. So your first exercise will be to try and find these the's courts okay like that, it might not be too easy at this point. With practice, you you will be able to come on these court. Now The trick that I I said I was going to show you today is now when you're playing these courts, make sure you play them with. For now. If your plane I try and play them with your fast, your third and your fifth fingers. So has to be 135 Don't build a habit off plane the major court with thes three fingers yet . Okay, we use That's when we want to play bigger courts. Okay, But for now, if you're playing just a major chord, I add you to use the 123 and five. OK, good. Now they easy approach. I was going to speak about this and little formula I use with ah when I'm teaching kids and it's very, very useful for adults as well. So these three courts have only white keys to see the F and the G so c f and have only whites keys. So you just come with the sea, you know, has only Waikiki's. I don't bother with the white, the Black Keys and I all I have to do is to escape at least one note so I don't I just keep this one, go to the next escape and goes to death next. And I have a C court, and this applies for efforts. Well, all white and g a white. So it one thing to memorize today C f g has all white keys in the major court C f gene. Okay. And then the next easy one is also the d e and A Okay, So if your family our d a Okay, uh, d e a is an institution in the US if you know So for D e A. They have one black in the middle, one black in the middle. So what I do is for the kids. You can just place your from or the d and you know that there's one black in the middle, and it's not as fast. Black is the second black. OK? And then you play the last notes. So if you want to have it easy, you play the whites and and you play the second black and you play the second white us. Well, okay, so it looks like a triangle. These the shape off the court. The E is the same thing. You played the e notes with your thumb off course, and that is the second black. Not a 1st 2nd black and sick and white 12 OK, that's an equal. And then an accord. Same thing. Play the first white second black and then the second white Very easy. So if you practice your C, F and Gene, then you can practice your d A. They all look like a triangle. OK, now the third sets would have 12 courts rights, but we're just trying to cover. We're trying to move in a sequence that will be easy for us to understand. We have C f G. We have d A. And then we can now get the flats off these d n a. So a D flat. Okay, this is D That's a D flat. That's an E doesn't e flat, and that's an A. That's an a flat. So it's a reverse. The D. A. Has one block in the middle, but a D flat e flatten a flat. Have one whites in the middle. Okay, so deflects the stiff. Let is a black notes and it has one whites in the middle. Okay? And that's that's how it looks like. It looks like a triangle as well. If you look, it's carefully, like another triangle. So you play to blacks and has one white in the middle. And this white notes is usually very close to a black. Okay, like that. So these are tricks on how you can do it by the proper way or the academic way of doing this? Yes. To get your fast five notes of the chord, you start to see Sharp Thorn Thorn Semi tone tone. Okay, you pick your 12345 and you pick your fast three notes 15 But you can also say it's a D flat. So has one whites in the middle. There you go and you have it, OK, and you can use this for e flat one whites in the middle less well, and then there are flats on white. Pass it. Okay, Now we have nine courts down. So the last three courts, they look a bit different, so we just need to know how they look like, So we have a B B flats in an F sharp These are the three left. So the be is a white note. So the formula you can use this. Why? It's black. Black. So the white notes and the other two are black. Okay, so that's a white notes and then back and not this fast. Black. Okay. And the B flats is a re vest is above white black bloc that becomes a black, white and whites. Okay, so not this one. Usually the major course. Look quite even. So it's not going to be something like that. Okay, Looks a bit weird. So my black, white, white, so white, black, black and black White is white. Okay. In the last quarter, the F shop, which is the easiest, it has all black. So is even less spread. Not if you play that this way. It doesn't look to even the spread. Right. So that's an f sharp. So we've covered all the 12 major court. You have a C F G, which little white C F gene. And they have the d a week. Which one block in the middle three e a. On. Then we have the d flat, e flat, a flat B flat, e flat and then a flat. And then we have the the three that's look different. So the be the B flat and the okay, not good. So your homework will be to play these few, you know, progressions that I'll have up on the screen the first Ah, we only do two of the progressions, and they now put up the other ones that you have to play on your own now. So you play a, C, f, G and F each one you can't four times those 12 free. Go to the F 1234 and the G 1234 You start again. Now I want to bring in your left hand year. So what we're gonna do is to if when you place a major court this way, if you want to play with the left hand as well, you can try to play the same thing in your life time. Okay? But what? We want to start with this play Just the fest in the last notes off the court fest and the last notes off the C major CNG here. Okay. And instead of using the the fifth note fifth finger here We're going to use the fourth finger. So I left. And you have the one and four. You're right. And you have 13 and five. OK, so that's how you play a full born with both hands and make a sound good. OK, so we're going to use this finger positions to play the homework. Okay, so you have C, F G and F four counts each 12 and free at four. And 123 and four N, right. 23412 and three. And four and one. Okay, pause the video. Try to play this progression over and over again. Answer your fingers, get used to it, then moved to the 2nd 1 which is another court progression. Simply, it's going to be an A e d and e. So it's gonna be like this. You go and make sure that when you play the first court, the second cord, you come down. Don't Don't go up this way. Doesn't sound so good. Sounds much better when you go down. Okay. So 12 and three and four and 123 and four and two and 34123 and four and one. So keep playing this over and over again onto your fingers. Get very used to these courts. Then we'll move to the next progression for your homework, which is a flat e flat D flat, e flat. Okay, so 123 and four, and one, and two, and three and four, and 123412341 Okay, play this over and over again, beginning to you beginning to play music already. Because these things you're playing our songs out there, Okay? And the next lesson will take a look at minor chords and then it by less than five. You'll be playing music already. Trust me. So let's take the fourth exercise, which is another song progression B F Shop E and F Sha. OK, so that's 12 and 341 to make sure you count all the time for 12341 to 3412 in that place several times. And then the last one is B flat, F E flat, F k all major courts. 12 34123412341234 There you go. so try to practice these major chords to the extent that you know them very well, you should be able to play all the major courts in in these progressions and also play them according to the notes. Okay, in the chromatic order, so you should be able to play them. See the flat d e flat F f sharp, she a flat a B flat B m back to see. Okay, I don't want it to be boring, so I suggest you use the progressions that we have, But you should be able to play them like this and in the next lesson will take it a step further. Thank you for joining me today and catch you in the next one. 5. Lesson 4 - Minor Chords: Hi and welcome to today's lesson. This is less than four and will be taking a look. It minor courts. So from last, the last lesson in lesson to we took a look at the major courts and it's important that we know the major courts in order to be able to know how. Minor chords. So my knuckles are very easy to build as long as you know your major skill and the minor, the major court. As I said Ah For as you remember, the Major court, for example, the C major chord is the 135 off the C major scale. Who has all white on your left. You're playing the one in the form. So just to play with the left hand, the right and only you have the 135 Ok, and in order to build a minor chord easy approach, the minor chord is one flat three and five. Ok, so one the flood three and a five. Okay, so you remember in listen one Ah, we said that the flats is when you take the note backwards to the left or down the left of the keyboard by a semi tone So all I have to do is to play my major court and reduce the middle finger or the third by a semi tone than I have a simple minor. Okay, so this is a C minor chord from to do the same thing for the F F major chord. 135 If I reduce the third by a semi tone, let's an f If I do the same thing for a G minor chord is the G major court 135 varied. Use the third by cemetery on Does a gene minor chord break it so we can try this for the other courts. For example, D major chord this 1351 block in the middle, Remember? And if you want to have a minor version of this a d minor chord all you have to just reduce the third by a senator, you go a d minor chord. Okay, very good. So what you have to do is to practice final your major courts and reduced the middle finger by Senate altogether minor chords. I have a little cycle here that will use to practice for this will move according to the cycle on the screen on the sea to the F to B flat and E flat is a psycho called a cycle of fourths with were landing Ah, future lessons. But we use this to practice our minor chords. Okay, So each one we count for so seeing to like is there for f k my nexus A B flat minor to e flat minor. Okay, that's a major, and that's a minor. Okay, then. The a flat minor to t a d flat minor Teoh f sharp minor would be minor E minor, a minor D minor G. Mina, Back to a seaman. Okay, so this is this is yo re has all cycle that you're going to be using. Okay. And try and take your time. Go through these. You play a C minus in the next one is on f minor. You go to the F and you know the major courts. All you have to do is to reduce, you know, when you have a minor tango and then be flat. This is a B flat, major, remember? So you have to do is to reduce the middle one by a stabbing tone on you have a minor next on E flat minor. This a major, remember one white middle. Reduce the wife by separate on on E flat. Minor. Do this according to the cycle and take your time. Remember, the goal is not to play this very fast. The goal is to play them correctly, a slow and steady as possible. Go through this cycle and familiarize yourself with all these minor chords from here. In the next lesson, I promise you will be playing a lot of songs with the knowledge of major and minor chords. You can play thousands off songs like there, thousands off gospel songs and how there or pop songs. All these are made up off simple major and minor chords. Okay, so from less and five you'll be playing all your favorite songs. Are there at least one extent? Okay, so your first homework is to play these minor chords in the cycle that I will show on your screen, and the second homework will be will try to play a very common progression. So a song progression is when you have courts major minor and other types, of course, arranged in a particular order. Okay, so we'll play a very simple song progression. The 1st 1 here we played in the key of C is going to be a C A G. And to see Major a G major and a minor and an f major. I'm trying to combine less and three and lesson for So you know, your major courts want to mix them up with minor courts. Okay, so let's take the first progression. Each one recount force to see one. You move to the G K one to move to the A minor. Not a major case. Lots of this mine. Okay. With an f major. Okay, play it again. 341234 123 for play with 135 and one for. I believe this sound is very familiar. Gays and Muslims. Okay, Very good. Okay on. And then the next song next progression that will try to play the same progression in other keys. So the next one will be too plaids and a key off f. So that means we'll start on the F. And the progression is f c f may just see major d minor. And then a beef leads major. So that goes like this. 123 for one shoe free four D minor. That's a major minor for And Okay, so there's only one minor court, so Okay, play this progression over and over again. I'll give you two more, have a keys, and then we'll take the rest in the next lesson. Um, you can take the key off, G. Okay, so 234 fee for 23434 Ok, but one more key. Take it in the key of C shop. So we start on the sea shop or the D flat. So it goes like sea shop a flat B flat minor in a F sharp. Major gets a 12341 2341234 234 Okay, beggared. So in today's lesson, we've taken a look at the minor chords. You already know your major court from last the last lesson. Try and take some time. Take about a week, a couple of days to go through these major and minor chords and try and play these progressions that are from today's exercise. And trust me with these, you stop playing your favorite songs in the next lesson. Thank you for joining today's lesson and seeing the next one 6. Lesson 5 - The 1, 4 and 5 Chords: Hello and welcome to today's lesson for today we'll be taking a look at the 145 chords and from the previous lessons we lend the major chords and the minor chord. So if you don't know, the major and minor quarter radio suggest you go back to lessons. Three Lessons for and Lesson four and get on update on that. It's important to know your major courts and the minor cause before you take this course. So for the 145 courts are very important courts in music. Most off the gospel songs and different general songs makes use off the's course extensively. Now what are the 145 quarts? Remember when we studied the major scale you had, For example, Nikki of See you had 1234567 and one. Okay, so this is one, and that is one. And so you could also sing it. It's door, Amy, fast. Okay, that's very simple. Now, on the major skill you can pick out when you number them, you can pick out the one, 234 and does a four, and that's the five. OK, now what? I want you to do is to just take these so far, and in the KFC, you have one here and that's a four. And that's a five, okay. And one important thing to notice that generally is 145 chords are major chords. So 145 courts all three of them are major courts. So that means in the key of C, if you want to play the one court, since the one is the see, you play a C major chord. So that's your one chord in the key of C. And to play the forecourt, you locate your 41234 Okay. And then you play the major off the notes, or the major off this notes, which is an f is f major chord. Okay. And then the five notes, which is G and is still a major card. So that's a G major. Okay, so by gets in this, if you had to play a song progression, which moves from one to 4 to 5 and four, you could play like this. For example, 1 to 4, 2341234 Okay, 234 Okay, so that's that's That's the normal approach to it to find the individual notes and playing major courts on those notes Now. So you a quick trick to be able to locate these 145 In other keys, the key of C is very easy. But if What if you weigh in another key, say, see shop. Okay. In the key of C shop, If you had to play the same some progression. 1545 It would be 234 234 234 Okay, but since there is a mixture of white and black, he's you want to be able to quickly locate these 14 and five courts where where you can find them. Now, there. Is this the trick? Let's come back to the key of C. You play the one court. Okay, so on your left, you have this one in the five in your left hand, right? They have the 13 and five year writer. So the easy trick is if you play one chord and you're supposed to move to the five, you know that this finger is on the five. Okay, So if I need to move to the five, all I need to do is to play the major court on this hand. If I move here, then I can easily drop that to the correspondent. No tea, of course. I see that five court. Okay, So said, you know, your five chord. You know, the automatic a little for the number four comes just before five. So then the forecourt is just behind the five. OK, so that's it. So this is the easy trick. You with your hand place. This way, You know that this is my five. And that's my fault. Okay. By five. And my four. Okay. So if I want to play a different progression, for example, of the 145 four Okay, not 15 but 14 So when I play the one this way quickly, I can find it. It's my five. So that that's my forte. I moved to that three. And I know that the next one is a five 23 foreign before. Okay, and box the one. So this is an easy way of getting your wonderful five court. Now we'll take it through some other kids so that explain a bit differently how to be able to easily located all the 12 keys. Remember their 12 keys. So whatever you practice, you need to play them in all 12 kids. Okay, so let's Let's for example, um go go to the next key. So this is C demoted. An escape seizure. OK, off course. They're all major chords in the next lesson will mix it up with some minor chords. But for now, they're all major code. So this is the first major court that's a C shop. Okay. Without even playing a major scale to no. 123451231234567 and one. Okay, so I know that so much. Callie is 12345 So this is 14 and five. OK, that's a normal approach. But if I didn't know, I'll just get here and then play the time progression. 15 for five. Okay. I'll just get here and then I know this is my five. Okay? I just move and play the major off. This a flat, which we all noise. Uh, is this a flat? Has one white in the middle, right? Not so much early than the four is just behind it, right? Like that. Okay, good. Now, let me let me explain something as well to make sure that you don't get confused at any point in time. Now, if you play the one court and you locate the five notes, that's therefore is a tone below the five. Okay, So if you locate your five, then the four is a tone. And remember, a tone is when you move by jump, hoping of a one key. Okay, So if I'm here and I move atoned, I need to hope of a dusky and that's a tone that Okay, so one, 54 five. Okay, very good. Let's try. Listen, another key. Um, next key key of D right this year. D court. I'm not going to play the major scale and find where my four in my five are. All I know is that after I played this court currently, I know that this finger is already on the five court. Okay, so I moved here and play the major court. Remember the a major court from less than three. It has one block in the middle, right? So that's the easy approach to playing these things. And I know that if I'm supposed to move to the four, then I need to move a tone below this note writes 12 gee, major, all whites. Okay, then. So if I played again 234434 Okay, so this is a very easy way of playing these 145 courts in all the 12 keys you need to be able to play. This is every single key. So just take some time, take a couple of minutes hours, practice your 145 chords in all, all the 12 keys are move on to they say the keels f. Right. Um, that's your f That's that one chord so much. Honey, I know this is my five. So and a tone below. Thus the B flat to the sea, which is the five chord. So one can you to the five chord to the full court into the five. Okay. Very simple. I'll try one more key, and then you you do the rest yourself. Okay, s So this is the F shop in the key of f sharp. So no, that's singing. All music I played in differently is right. So a song can be played in several keys. And when we start practicing songs, you realize that one song completed all the 12 keys. So for now, let's say the song was this progression. We played 1545 so that we need to play the KFF shop. All you have to do is to find you know that the 145 are all major courts. I don't need to bother about minor quartz yet. Okay, So I played a major chord f major chord. And that's the five, right? So I moved here and the tone down 12 And then I come to my be major just wide black, black, remember, And D flats One fights in the middle of shop. All black, OK, one white, middle, white, black, black. Uh, Okay. And you could have fun with these courts. You can with the same progression, you can just go. Okay. These these all billenness, all these fields in the other in the other lessons. Okay, just take some time. Practice this for your assignments, homework or practice work. All you need to do is to play this song progression. One, 545 In all 12 keys stuff from C and play them in autumn of keys and play. Peek and trial of deprivation as well. The four one 54 I'm just making up some progressions as we go. So, for example, I can try to play that in the key off G. Okay, so there's a key of G. Okay, And the fast court is a four. So I know this is my G chord, and that's a five. Right? So the tone below, that's a four. OK, I need to locate these before I start. So it's got to be 1234 or 23 So 34 and that I thinks right, 4 to 400. Okay, then to the five announce it for So this is on a incredible approach to playing these court in every single key. And it's important that you take some time to identify how to quickly play this in all the 12 different keys. Okay, So thank you so much for joining this lesson. And, uh, I'll see you in the next one 7. Lesson 6 - The 2, 3 and 6 Chords: Hello, everyone What? Once again to today's lesson and today we'll be taking a look at the 23 and six court. In the previous lesson, we went through the 145 courts. So at the end of this lesson, you would be able to play 123456 You be able to play six out off the seven court Sunday major scale. So and that's very good, because from, uh, the one for five at the 236 pretty much almost all the songs are there can be played with these courts. So we lends lost in the purest lesson that 145 courts are major court. So in the KFC, the 14 and the five major courts Okay, now in this with same approach that we learned in the previous Listen, if you haven't seen that sound advice that you have a look at the previous lesson in the same way to fight the 23 and six chords arm minor chords. So as long as you know the major courts on those loads, you just have to reduce the middle notes. For example, in the key of C, this is your one. And in the major scale of C, this is 1234567 Okay, and that's a tool of the C major scale. So if I want to play a chord on this on this note, that's a d. All I need to know is my d major chord, and that's the D major core rights. But says the two cord is a minor chord I need to play and my new court. Okay, so that's very easy to follow. All I have to do is to play the minor chord on the two. And there's a minor quote on the three. This is a three. Uh, so that's an E and it to plan e minor chord. Okay, that's an e major. Okay. And the six chord, we just weren't 23456 that on a So I need to play an a minor, Remember? That's in a major. Okay, Very simple. So now you know how to play 23 and six, Cordes. Okay, let's look at the easy approaching to find this piece. Courts in all the 12 keys keys in the previous lesson, we learned that if you When you play the one chord. All you need to do is to play the one court, and you can easily find your five, which is on this finger here. Okay. And the four, which is a tourney below the five. So 12 So that's a four. Okay, Now, as long as you know your one, your four in your five, you confined your two year three in your six. Very easy. I'll show you. Now the two is also a tone above the one. OK, so that's one tone above counts. 12 dozen two. That's a to court and is a minor court. So you okay, Um, at a six scored. It's also my torn away from the five. So this is the one court in other parts of the world is called a door. And then this is a five chord. It's called a Seoul court or the five court dependent on which one you are used to and the fires behind. OK, but as the sole on. And if you want to play, the six scored a lot. This is a tourney to the right, so you can't want to. And it's a minor chord. So You need to be very careful when you get to these minor chords. Cody. I'm not just your regular made major courts, okay? Most of the time. Okay, so that's a mine. Break it. No. Well, we'll try a few simple progressions which are very common in Mosul. More songs. That's a progression. 1564 progression. Now this one. Fire six for progression. I bet you it's in modern. 1000 songs out there. So by plane and practicing this song in oil 12 keys, you be able to play number of songs out there. So let's try that. Okay, So played by Kelsey First, that's a one chord. Okay? And if I want to move to the five, which is a sore, I noticed the sore. That is a major car. I need to play a minor chord. Okay, on the six. Always remember your sixes and minor. I know there's a six I need to play on a minor. Okay. And then before six is the voice behind a five. OK, so if I played up to temple for 342341234 234 Sounds like the right. Yeah, So the goal is to be able to play these courts in all 12 keys. Okay, let's try it in another key. So they killed the next keeps your KFC shop. That's your warn. This is a five. It's a major court as well. Moving on to the six. This is a six. But make sure you don't play a major. It's played by 6236 minor courts. Okay, so 3 to 5 was a major chord to the 60 minute okay into the four, which is a major going as well. Just me had the five. OK, fake it. Practice doesn't a lot of the other case. We can try another key strike E f E. Okay, so I want to play 1564 Right. So you have never played this before? We play the one court. This is five and it's a major. That's a B major, and I count to their six is one two, and that's supposed to be a minor. So not a major, but a minor. Okay, not this, but on the four is behind the five. That was a five, right? So too. The cool is that before you stop playing a song in the key. Make sure you find a warrant for five chords and you're six will come pretty naturally. Okay, so that's your one chord. You know, that's a five. And that's it for case, although, you know that 55 Then if that's the five that want to be that six months and then after doing this, you can play all the way. 34 34 34 234 234 234 Okay, very simple. Now let's let's add one more court. If that's okay, let's add one more court. Good. So, uh, this a congregation will try as a 15 to 4. Okay, you already know you're 15 and four from previous the previous lesson. So now all you need to do is to bring in the to court. Now, guess what the two cord is just after the one court and is that told us? Well, so if I played in the kill soon that the to court is just a court right after the one which is the second note off the major skin, okay? Or tone above it is a minor. So let's try the 15 to 4 progression. So 15 year. Okay, the two is here and the four again after usually. I like to play the five below. Okay, that's when you could go be last sounds really good before, and they start to have fun with it. Right? Right. Very good. Okay. Racing. So this is, uh, the goal of the lesson that you're able to play these progressions to incorporate your to and the six cord into your play and try to do this in every single key. Okay. Key of B four. Okay, that's the six to the four. Have you tried a second? Prohibition? Five. I did, too. Four. Okay, Very good. So after playing this, it's going to be very easy, very easy for everyone to be able to play a lot of songs. In the next lesson, I'm going to pick two or three popular songs gospel. And this was supplies to other calm angina, pop rock, anything. But I'll be using some few gospel common gospel songs for the next lesson. Which would you play some examples and be using thes same progressions to demonstrate thes examples that will be local nut Okay, so for you assignments or you practice exercise, play the two progressions. The one 1546 for in all your 12 keys. Okay. Until you have very used to it and then come back and play the 15 to 4 in your 12 keys. Okay? Remember the two and the six minor chord. So that's the only thing you need to take not off and pay attention to when you're playing . It's in these other keys. All right. Thank you so much for joining this lesson and see you in the next one. Good luck with the practice. 8. Lesson 7 - Let's Play some songs: Hello, everyone. Welcome to today's listen, so we'll be having taken a look at three or four gospel songs. Asses. We stayed in the previous lesson, and these are very popular gospel songs. And guess what? Three of them have the same song progression. The 4th 1 The 4th 1 has a different progression, but it's very simple. So the first song, The 1st 3 songs, have this progression, and that's a one. Start using the key of C as an example. It's a one to a six. Sorry to a five to a six five and four because I won 5654 Okay, so each of them has s O on the on the screen. Now put up the way I write usually likes right my progressions. If when I write a number without any number raised at the top, then that means you count full time. So, for example, 1234 and then the 5234 With this six, it's just to count. So I'm going to write two on top off the six five is just to count and then force another focus so I don't write anything. So 12341234 Then 12121234 Okay, break it. So we're going to practice this? I went up, Get my wife to help me sing a couple of songs and then up ladies in one key. Just the key of C. But it's your work for your work. You need to take this to the Iraqis. Very simple. Sample Grecians. Take it to see Shot. 123412341221234 d 123412341 to what? 234 e flat. 2342341212 to 3 e 12341234 to 12341234121 Teoh 234 Okay, so you get the picture. You need to be able to play this every single key and take your time. You can take one key at a time, Master it. Get it to be perfect. Then you can take this into other keys. Okay, so and that the fourth song is greater. You Lord, and the progression is a little bit different is just inside of the six. It's a to a to court. Okay. And you remember So that's 11 to a six started to a five and then to to and the four. Okay, so what? All of them are four counts for 34123434 Okay, so I'm going to start playing a loop and then gets ah wife to sing and we just have a look just full of the courts. Follow how these are being played and practice along with me if you can on try and take it to all the l A keys. Okay. But a beautiful name it iss but a beautiful name It isn the name of Jesus. My what a beautiful name it isn nothing compares What a beautiful name in the name of Jesus What a powerful name it What a name! The name of Jesus. I want a powerful name It iss nothing can stand. Want a powerful name It iss name cheese. Here I am Teoh Thio Thio Teoh. My God! He can keep me in a way. My God! Today I am for grazes a while greatly, Teoh greatly to great. I greatly Teoh greatly, Teoh 9. Lesson 8 - Diatonic Chords of the Major Scale: Hello, guys. And welcome to today's lesson in this lesson will be taking a look at diatonic courts off the major scale. Okay, this is going to be a very short lesson because we know all these courts already. We just want to put them together. Any take notes off the fury behind it. Okay, so, on the major skill using C major, once again, this is a major scale. 1234567 What? Okay. And, well, let's start the one the one before in the five major courts. Okay, so these diatonic chords will be treating today. Since this is a beginner level tutorial, they're going to be the basic or the beginning of the basic diatonic courts will take them to the next level and then keeping prevent them as we go along. Okay, so the 14 and five are major, remember? And that the two, the three and a six minor. So we're only left with a seven chord which will Len right away. And then after that, we pretty much know all the diatonic courts of the major scale. Okay, so the one court is a major to cord is a minor. The three court is a minor. The forecourt is a major five court major as well. Six. Mina, that's correct. The seven. It's a little different. That's a It's called a diminished court. Okay, and then that's a major how to rebuild a diminish court. So now remember how we built a major court? For example, in a C major chord, we said was the 13 of the five Okay, off the major scale. So 12345 You pick the 13 and five Khoumba, remember? And that's the major corn. The moment we know. A major quote we can easily find on my own accord. And this one flats three and five. We just need to drop this third note the middle notes here. We dropped 1/3 by a semi, john way have and minor court. Okay, Now, for the diminished chord, you just picked the same minor chord and drop the fifth by a semi tone as well. You have a diminished court. So that's a C diminish court. Nice try for the F diminish court. Okay, this on f major court. Remember the F mine? I dropped the middle one by three and the f diminished. You're going to reduce this court this finger here by, uh, a semi. Okay, so the major minor drop 1/3 by some, it's on the diminished. You drop the fifth by Senator. Okay. Regular. That's trying to another key. For example, the F sharp major court. You know, it's all black. 35 Okay, The mine. I dropped the third by Senator. That's a f sharp, minor chord. And I left the ministry drop this one by a semi tone as well. And that's a diminished. Okay, very good. So says we know the diminished chord, and we can play all the diatonic course of the major skill. So we pick the C major scale 12345 and one. So is going to be major to minor. 3/4. A minor four chord. Major fry sport. Major six gold miner seven. Court diminished. You can you can put you can put this finger on on that same fifth year, major. Okay, I tried this in two other keys. Let's try in the key of F. So that's going to be an f major. Okay, there's the F major skill. 234567 And so you need to know that notes in the major scale before you can play the title course of them. So things I know this is the first notes. Obviously, it's a major quote since it's a one. Court gets an F major was a second note G, and it is a two in the scale. And what's a two is a major or minor. That's the only question I need to ask myself. I need to first find a key, and I'll ask myself if it's a major or minor, that the two is a minus. I don't play a major chord and it's mine. Okay, three court. That's a nice loads. There's also another mind says Okay, and then the B flats three to a four. Remember, for 3 to 4 is a cemetery. Movements may just get okay, so that's a a B flat major chord. And that this five Fordice a major as well. Six quart or the law is a minor can't remember. And then the seven court is a diminished what we learned today so that if it was a minor, this is I mean I e minor, but the diminish. We didn't drop. That's this Does well, Okay, Very good. Now, in gospel, contemporary goes well, we mostly mostly don't use this kind off. Seven court. Okay, so in the next lesson, I'm going to show you improved ways on improved wealth plane. Better way of playing the seven chord and the three court. Okay. And that's the big going to be the biggest off the courts will be used in most mostly in this course. Okay, remember, we're trying to find an easy way out. Easy way to play these courts and be able to play for several songs at a time. Okay, so this seven chord is good. Be landed now for the sake of fury, but in practice, you might need it. Another genre by gospel. I'll say most often you're not going to use this court, but sometimes you might. Okay, so, um yes. So, uh, that's a diminished chord. And then try to play this for all the other keys for picnic. Key of G a major minor, minor Major, Major, six minor, seven diminish in one major. Okay, breaking. So for your homework, try to play all the diatonic courts in all the 12 keys because you could sing during me whilst you play them. So it's going to consult. Okay? Or you could just say 1234567 on. Well, take them one key at a time. Make sure you're able to play. They're fluidly in all the 12 keys. Good. Thank you for joining this lesson and see in the next one. 10. Lesson 9 - Add2 Sus2 and Sus4: Hi, guys. Welcome to today's lesson in this lesson will be taking a look at the suss to the r to suss to and suss four courts. Okay, so far in this ah course we've lens three types. Of course. We've led the major court, which is a 13 and five. We've led the minor court is one flats three and five. Okay. And we've lent the diminish court, which is one flats three and flat five. Okay, so major buying her finished ok after they were blended. Three more basic courts on these. These are courts that you mostly come across us. Beginner or intermediate pianist. Okay, so now you start with an art to accord the art to call. It is very simple to construct. Uh, basically that are too cold is also called a major art too. Okay, so all you need to know this festival, your major horn, and this is the two off the scale, right? 12345 That's the two of the skin. All you need to do is, as the name implies, add the two so us listen, as are others too. It becomes a major art to accord on after you could say, See, are two or C major are too. Okay, let's try this for the F doesn't f major chord or I have this and that's an F major on two . Okay, for example, G, that's a G major, too. Okay, Perfect. Now. So that's That's a C sharp major chord. That's a C sharp major, too. And it makes you court sounds a bit more a bit richer. Okay, So instead of playing a major court, you could add that to make it sound much better. Okay, um, I'll show you an example off songs that we've played before. But instead of playing the simple major chord, I'll just plain too sometimes And you can have a feel of how that sounds like the second court is ah, assess too. So as SAS choose, a shotgun was suspended too. Okay, So what this means is, um that it the different in that in the activists in the art to you added a second. But in the sauce, too, you're more or less suspending the third to a second. So you replace a federal a second, so the formal off of that is going to be a 12 and five. OK, that's a cease asked you. There's a 12 and five. The are two was 1235 The sauce to is 1 to 5. OK, it's very simple. So that's an F SAS 212 and five. That's a G sister. That's a disgusting. Okay, B flat sister. So you're not playing the third You're playing a second. Okay, break now, the third quarter, which it a suss for. So so very simple. Instead of the third you replace a side with guess what? Four. So it's going to be a 14 and five. OK, so, uh, uh, like that. Okay, Brian Floor and five. So an f is gonna be like this usually sounds nice when you move from there. Teoh majors like that. Okay, So did assess for Major. Okay, so this three course ivory, good to know, Um, I'm going to practice. Showed little practice. I go with the songs that we let's re practice before I'm going to take one off them and, um, helpfully along the same songs. But this time around, instead of so, what you can do is for the 14 and five courts you made. These are major courts. So a way to improve them is to instead of playing basic major chords, you play a sauce too, or are not assess for okay on our to or assess too. Okay. So in your progression off the previous progression, I would lend 156 and four. Okay. So you could display. That's a two. There are two. Okay, minor. Another sounds pressure. Okay, A sometimes can play a substitute. Jesus, too. A minor on an SS so you can mix them. Let me take another key. That's in a key off a flat. Okay, that's the one that's five on. That's the six that for. All right. That's how you can use the r two and assess to make your sound much beautiful in adolescence, we're going to get to know So that applications off the suss forecourt I mean, a simple way to apply the SAS for Isaac. As I said earlier, I can use that to proceed to the normal major code. So in this once 564 progression, go back to see you could do 15 and the six for Baker doesn't, for it is used something called a passing chord. You played momentarily and then he goes to the major s o. Many other applications of it later in the course will be taking a look at court chats. And you're going to meet some of these simple called major cause minor course diminish quartz suspended Too hard to suss for. These are the basic course. Are you be meeting in most off the court shots. Okay, So thank you for this lesson and for your homework. Just go around the cycle off cycle of fourths or fifths, as we discussed in the previous listen and used player sussed to courts around the cycle. Okay. Like that. And then you come back and use There are two chords. Okay. Okay. Then you go to the SAS four chords. Uh, like that. So this is how you practice around this around the scale around a cycle so that you make sure they are conversant and everywhere you are called on to play us us to our to assess for cord, you'll be able to play this easily. You Thank you. And CNN. Let's listen 11. Lesson 10 - Slash Chords: Hello, everyone, and welcome to today's lesson in this lesson will be taking a quick look at slash courts. Now, the moment you here slash courts, the first thing that might come to minus are these courts that have been slashed? No, it's much simpler than you think. So sometimes in music when you're trying to read court chats or someone writes a sequence, of course for you to play around with, you might encounter courts that look like a letter with a slouch or a slanted, slanted letter. So that's with a slush and then another later. So basically, the moment you see that the kind of information you can get from that is first, the first letter that is shown as the court that you're supposed to play and this letter on the right after the slush. Yes, the base not or the left hand notes. So I mean unease. A way for you to remember is think of It's us. It's bean inverted. Okay, so if you see, for example, a c slash e, think of it that is turned the other way around. So that the one on the left you actually going to plate on your right, So it's going to be a C major court. So the one on the left is accord and the one of the right as a notice that based not so It may be a single notes, or you could double it up. Okay, so it's a C card and the bass notes the E u play in your left. Okay, so the momentous play that you see a c slash e. So the C chord with an e bass note? Okay, if you wanted the sun a little heavier, you could easily make that an octave. Right. So whenever you play and no tear, two notes, same notes, eighth apart, 123 from Francis and eight. Okay, that's on e octave. So you could just let's see court and that he on the right. OK, so that's a C slash. Okay, Very good. So let's try another slash for, for example. Say you see at F slash a, um, slash cord. Very simple rights. You have an F chord with an A ASAP days. Not on f court with an A s, a business. So that's a F court without a as a basin of SK, right? very, very good. Now. So what? What are these? Slash course not the peppers off slash courses to pretty much make cause that would have more complex names. Simple. Okay, so they have some courts, and right now we add beginner level, right? For so trying to mend these courts might be very difficult. For example, if, um if say, I play a a simple slash cord like a c major chord c slash d right, That's a C major chord over the D. Ok, so this is a very simple court. If you look at this as a C try at major chord in the right over D basement, Okay, But from your screen you can see the very complicated, well, somewhat intermediate level court name. And so this is a deny suss for But in order to make this simple for everyone to be able to read on the court, shot will be written us a c slash D. That's what you can see on the bottom sort of alternative name. So slash courts are very, very good, and they are able to simplify course as much as possible for anyone who is trying to get into playing the piano to play them very easily. So that's a very important and something that you should be able to muster. Uh, 100. Okay, We'll take a few other slash Corso, can you try and play a g slash b? Okay, g slash b. So once again, that's a G cart with a bean. Bass notes. Okay, so a G major court s a G and the major with a B basement, right? You can either choose to plate with one finger like a double it up. Right? G slash me will try one last simple slash court on. I'll be Let's try a D slash f shop. Okay, so once again, a d major court and an f sharp is not Okay, so that's a deal. Major card with an F son. Okay, in other lessons, will be taking a look at core charts and will become not cross some of these these slash courts, so we should be able to play them when we see them. Okay. And one thing you should notice this chord you play on the side, you can play in other inversions, which will be Havel. Essence are taking note of. But if you already know about court inversions. Yes, you. You can play their court these much. If you can play the court written on the left side in any version that you want and they'll still because a d slash f. Lee completed, for example, first and second version on. Okay, so yet now, um, I'll take Let's try try. Try these with me, so try to play a c minor slash d. Yeah. Waited, trying. If you go then writes that I'll be a C minor court with a D left hand. Uh, now you see what I was talking about? How this court is cold. That's a D seven suss for, and it's a flat nine. So this is at the intermediate level. This is going to be a very sophisticated court, right? But no, it's not that sophisticated. It's just a C minor accordion already with a deep bass notes on that gives a very beautiful court, right? Very nice. Let's try an f slash g so f court G bass Note. There's a very nice called that's results nicely to the to the C chord. Very nice. Okay, Comey trying, lest right. A c suss to slash e Okay. A cease us to remember how you place us to board the 12 and five. So you play since us to hear they put that on your left. Okay, so on your screen, you see, Issa's see Major are to slush e. And that's because the moment the EQ comes in here is like a major are too cold that we learned before, But you can easily write it a c slash ses us toe slash Okay, Very good. I was like my last one. A c diminished slash D see diminished slash t. OK, see diminished. Remember, is one in the flats, 3 to 3 flat and their flats. Five. There's a five. So does the slash flat five. Very good on a C diminished slash D. So I just have to play. See, that's a very ingesting court, right? Make it so try and pick up some court shots. Um, in my in this course, you are going to look at a couple off court shots, try and pick some of them up, identify the slash sports in there, play around with them and be able to muster how to play these slash Course with He's okay. Yes. Uh, thank you for joining today's listen and see here the next one 12. Lesson 11 - Improved 3 and 7 Chords : Hello, guys. Welcome to trace Lesson today will be taking a look at improved versions off the three and the seven court. Okay, So, still looking at basic courts? Um, later, when we get to the intermediate level, will end more sophisticated versions of this three and seven course. But at the end of today's lesson, you should be able to play your diatonic course, which is the 12345671 like this. Okay, that's on the very good. This is how you probably were playing it before. See that That's the three court were trying to replace today. Okay, that's also seven court were trying to places this one as well. Tried in another key. Okay, so it's very simple. OK, now the three court and the 7/4 you already know them that the three court is as a minor court, right? So in the key of C back into like you see with three card is a minor. That's 1234567 Okay. And that's the three is a minor chords e mail. But in certain situations, the this court is fine. Okay, But in most most of the time you realize that this 3/4 doesn't sound quite us okay as we would want it to sound. So I'm going to show you a three chord which fits in most, like, 80 to 90% of the situations. Okay, So whenever you know that the progression is going to a three that scored, I'm going to show you now you can play easily, okay? And this court is a kind of slash court. Okay, so it's basically the one suss to first We can start from the basic level is basically the one chord slash the three on your bass notes. So if you start with it is the one court in this case which is the sea major court, of course, because the one is a major. And then on the three. So this is basically it inside of played on e minor. This note is going to be changed. So that Okay, So in other words, you have the one major court with the three bass notes. Okay, So if you had to play the want, the diatonic courts is going to be 12 And then when you get to the three, you play the one again with three bass notes. 456 About. Guess what's the seven is also very similar. So for the seven, all I need you to play s to play the five major chord over the seven bass note cases. A five major court over the seven days. Okay, so that's a very nice last court. Okay, so if you start to play again, try and practise. Simple. Now that. Okay, I take it very slow so you can see it. Okay. Okay. Yes, very good. So this is a good way to start now. What the actor court actually want you to play is going to be Instead of playing the normal major court, I want you to suspend it, play a SAS to off that, okay, and put the base e bass note at the end. Okay, so it's a plane One major on the three bass note. I want you to play. It's a sussed record three basement, and it sounds much better. Okay, up to you, which sounds okay for you in pop music, you might stick with a simple tired but in gospel, jazz, etcetera. You might want to go courts without more college. Okay. And for the seven court as well. You want to play the five sauce too? With a seven based on Gives you a beautiful major. Are two called. Okay, This thing it was just dropped. Okay. It's called a drop to kind of court and this at intermediate level. Talk about it later. Okay, so I said, drop to card that is being used here. Okay, Very good. Let's try to another key. So let's go to the key of C shop KFC shop here. So if we're to play the three court, all I need to remember is that it's a one suss too. So was the one in Tokyo. Seasia see shop itself, right? 123 Okay, so the one sas to off the one court that's a major success to, and all I need to play is to plate over three. Basic for now, you can just stick with, keep them close together. They don't don't play like that. You could decide to play like this, but I prefer to put more notes there. But at this point, you can just stick with that. That's another version which makes it bigger but mystic to a simple is the one size too over the three base. And if you want to play, the seven is going to be a five suss to So it is a five sas to a flats Austin over the seven, which is a c. Okay. Want to? For example, if I wanted to play 7134 like 7134 Okay, so is going to, um that sounds good, right? Okay. I just added a few embellishments. We'll talk about that in other other lessons. So this is, uh, on Easy way to play this. Those ones. When we used Elia Great argue Lord, which progression was one to, ah, five to where to and then 34 671 Okay, demonstrated here and now play the other video. I played the same song with a voice and then up later in the key of C. So now placing a KFC chapter is going to be what, five I went to 34 That's a 767 So 67 I think it's what Fine. I didn t That's all right. And then six where they two be price. Okay, six. A very good way to get to the 16 of the one to to Okay, very good. So try to play. Um, the song. This, um Good Lord, even if you do not too saying get us fine. Just play around with the progression. The most important thing is a progression. Because guess what the song progression will fit for and lots off hundreds of songs out there. So concentrate on the progression. 15 234671 Okay. And try and play this in multiple keys. Okay? At the end of this lesson, I'm going to put in the one with the voice and may play in the key of C, But try and do this. And other keys, for example, Key of f, Right? So, one to the five. Right to the four to 34 So 67 The goal is that you need to play, you know everything. But now you've led to new courts, which is the through taking a cue f one to the three which you play the wants us to over on the right. Okay. You've many Sunni courted. And the seven which looks very okay. Race. As someone once said, If you want to find this out very easily that if you you're able to get your seven, you just look take two tones behind, which is I want to. And then you played us us to off that court. Okay, so you are saying for the three as well take that, too Turns behind as the F people in so many ways you I mean, I have the easy way. I'm able to locate these courts for me. I just say, OK, seven five stars to underwrite another seven and a three is a one size too on the right on . That's how I do it. But of course you can do it anyhow. You think it's easy for you to understand At the end of the day, you should be able to play this in multiple keys. So thank you for joining today's lesson. And hopefully you and rich your play with these two new courts and take a look at the example. I'm going to play now with the voice and try and play along as much as you can see in the next lesson. I greatly Teoh be greatly to great. I know greatly to Teoh, I greatly to be greatly to greatly to wait 13. Lesson 12 - Basic Rhythms: Hello, everyone, and welcome to this lesson in this lesson will be taking a look at basic rhythms. Okay, so music. I mean, at the end of this lesson, you should be able to play simple chord progression like 15 24 isn't a plane, it's 12343434 You can use other rhythms and play them right. And, for example, for a 1564 progression which is in a 68 time signature goes like this. And if you're familiar with this song, this is he's able by tightrope. It's OK. Um OK, good. So to start with, let's understand the fundamental principle of time signature. So time signature shows how music is, um, counted. Okay, so usually in a time signature, you find time signature at the beginning off a grand stuff. Okay, you see some numbers written on the left corner off the stuff, but I don't want to get too much into the reading, reading off music, which is very important. But in this course, we're basically looking at how to play these things, how to play the piano without necessarily reading notes. Okay, so if you look at the stuff that time signature is indicated somewhat like a fraction, but with no line. Okay, so you see a number on top of the number below and the number on top will tell you how many beats you need to count. And the number below tells you the type off count. Okay, so it could be 1/4 note just indicated by four. It could be 1/2 months indicated by two. It could also be. And 1/8 notes indicate about eight. OK, now let me just simplify it right here. Okay? So if the most common times images the 44 time signature So that's four quarter notes pair bar. So you're pretty much going to come when 234 one to 34 So that means if you see a court tracked and the song goes in the 44 time signature, you have to play. And one for example, 15 to 4 progression in the key of C. And it's a 44 time and you're going to go pretty much do what we've been doing all the time . 1234 and then you. Let's go down. 123434 Okay, very good. Now let's try the next Come on. Time signature. Okay? And this is the This will be the 34 time signature looking 34 time signature is similar to So you have three beats. 3/4 notes, PAB measure. Okay, so that means you can't. 1231231 It's like a swing right? 123123123123 of the same chord progression by plated that if it wants to 31 23 123123 Okay . And then one very common types of injuries. Also the 68 time signature. So that's quarter notes is more like the court. The eighth notes somewhat, twice as fast US the quarter notes. Okay, so you can't six of them in the barn. That sounds like 123456123456123456 days is gonna be 12345623456123456 456 Like, that's OK. So if I indicate a song and I tell you. What time signature going to you to play this? It tells you pretty much where you're going to place your courts and you. The court's most of the time. Comes on the one. Okay, now this takes us into rhythms. Okay, so you know your time signature. Now the rhythm comes to the court. Tells you you can create different rhythms based on how you want to place your courts. Okay. Very simple. Now, for example, that's like the progression 15 to 4 as we've been playing. OK, now, what you've been playing now is playing the cord on the downbeat, which is the one, 234 and then you blades every time on the one. Okay. How are you trying to be just a little bit more creative? Let's say we want to play on the one hand on the three each time, so it's gonna be like a 1234 Okay, so that's the most rate. That so that's a 1 to 4. Okay, too. For what? Three. Yes. You understand what's where this lead into? So you can try to be creative. You don't necessarily have to play every time on on the one beach complete on the one and the three. Let's take it to the next level s Q 13 and four and leave out just to write 1230 what to? And this is dependent on your taste. Whatever you want to do. The music is in your hands. You are the creator. So you play what sounds good to you. Okay. And if you hear songs played out there, you want to land them here, these rhythms, your family or with them already. Okay, so let's try another one. Let's try and play on every single cup Replay on the one. The two of the three under four. OK, very simple. So that I got to be one Teoh 412341231234 Very, very, very simple. Okay, you realize that this is a personal preference. I don't like to play, for example, people like that, but I like to play that and I keep my left hand down and just move. I guess. Use the right hand to play the other notes the other courts against three, 323 Very easy. Okay, so now let's Let's try, um, on an example in the 68 time signature. As I said, he's able. That's that's a good example. And it's a once 564 progression for the early part of the song, but it's a 68 time signature. So there's 1234561 Okay, so I played a 123456 and then 456 123456123456 Okay, so it goes on, like 56456123456 Okay, now you can be. You can be creative and say Okay, I want to play on the one and the 412 vices. 12345 Ices. Okay, Reagan so thes are pretty much what rhythms are. You can try and be creative. You can have complex rhythms, their rhythms where you're trying to play just before the four. You want to create eso usually usually this Can't you have 12345 So you have 12341234 So, 123412341234 Right? But you could also have counted this. Watch it for us. One and two and three and four and one and two and three and four. And okay, so you got me a little complicated and say you want to place accord on the baby to end instead of the two or 311234 and four. And 1234 That sounds really good. Right? Get more creative. You want to play? Okay. On the to end and, uh, for end, for example. So you want to go? Um, one and one and two. Every 4123 and four. And 23434 This is how your way to take your plate to the next level? Try some of these things. Take these progressions, um, player on with the mess around with rhythms where you want to place the cords. And trust me, you sounded amazing. You can create your own music, write your own music with some of these Parton's and become the good pianist that you're already. Tell him not to be. So thank you for joining this lesson. And thank you for being with me and most of my lessons and join in this course and see you in the next one. 14. Lesson 13 - Chord Inversions and its Applications: Hello, guys. And welcome to today's lesson in this lesson will be taking a look at chord inversions and its applications. Now, by the end of this lesson, you should be able to transform a normal chord progression in roots style with positions like this. No, let's take the other one. Is that okay? Six for one five to something like this. Six for me with this. All right? Uh, okay. Probably take it to the key of a flat so that it sounds more like the one you know. So it goes like if you didn't know inversions, you probably play like this. But if you know inversions very simple form, then you play the right way like that. Okay, So very easy. Now, what are called inversions? Let's take a quick dive into it. According versions, there are other ways off plane Accord by just pretty much inverting the notes. So if I take, for example, a c major chord and I tend, it's also, you know, okay, upside down. If I take this note here and take it to the top, Okay. I just left this finger and the ticket here like that over on your screen you're seeing, like, more looking like a slash board. It is a C slash e court. I take it that is going to look like a C slash g chord that is actually a C court just inverted because a G is still part of the sea court. Okay, so every court, any quality can play can pretty much be inverted into other forms. So when you play the court because it's, for example, a c major chord and you have the thumb, the lowest notes on the in the court being the court itself is this. If you have the lowest notes in your court as the C and s A C major chord, then what you're playing that's what is called the roots position. Okay, to fight plan F major chord like this eyes a roots position off the F major chord. And this is what we've been playing mostly throughout this course. Now, if you want to invert it, all you'd have to do is to rearrange it. You can either take the bottom or aborted. There were up almost one down. If I bring the uppermost one here down is gonna look like this. Uh, okay. you see one when I add that left hand thesis on F court if I take that one up Still on F chord Lefcourt, Right, Very good. Now, one thing we should know So and this this is the risk position. If I take the lowest note here is called the first inversion to the F major court in the first inversion. And if I take this one noticed one here, get up the next time it's called the second inversion of the F court. If I do that same thing again, taking up that's not gonna be 1/3 inversion because it's just like the roots position once again. So you can say that the F major chord has the requisition and two other inversions. Now, my simple formula that I use as if you want to know how many versions a court has, you count the number of notes in the court itself and subtract one. So the major and minor course and the meniscal these are tryouts. They have free notes, so major minor chords have three notes, and if you subtract one, you have to, so it's gonna have to inversions. So that's why you have for example, a G major chord. Okay, and has the root position. And if I invert this, take it to the top. Just have to slowly make sure that I know what I removed from the bottom. Okay? Make sure you know that no tr moving are moving the g. So I need I'm going to hold these two in place and all I'm going to do so it's easier if you use your first tooth. Ingestible these ones when you're playing a version is not for the brutes position. You airplane 135 over here, you might most likely be playing 12 and five. Okay, so I take that I used one and two to replace these. Then I drop Remember the one that I too, from the time I drop it at the top. And that's a first inversion. I do the same thing again. Just remember what I'm taking from here. That's a be taken away. Hold that in place. And then I put a second inversion. And if I inverted again as back to rip positions, that has two inversions, Okay, Now, if you don't know it all the other kinds, of course, that's fine. I'm going to give another example with have a big accords. Okay. So that at least we have a look. How? How other courts will be inverted. So, for example, if I take a chord with seven notes like, um, let's say as C minus seven. Okay, so that's that's a C minus seven. Okay, if I ask you how many versions is this court might have, you can use a simple formula. Has four notes wanted for Saddam is gonna have three inversions. Four miners, one blustery. Perfect. Okay, so let's see if Let's see. That's true. Okay, so that's the root position. And then the first inversion is I'm gonna take the sea from the top and take it up. And it's going to look like this right now. That's that's under the inversion of the cost court, but it's looking like it's another kind of court. If I keep, see other bottom get now is now you're saying neutrality. So that's a C minus seven. Fine. Inverted. There. There's a first inversion system. Okay, If I inverted, I take the e flat to the top. It's gonna look like this Still C minus seven. All right, So that's a sick and inversion. Let's take their you to the top and get 1/3 inversion. Now we said it has three inversion cause house for now. Let's see if you're going to get fourth inversion not take B flat to the top again. That's right, Reagan. Let's try again with one last cord. Okay, so let's say if you want to try, um, a c dominant seven. Okay, so that's a C C seven court. Okay, now, this has for not so has to be version. So that's a good position. And then that's it. Fast and version. Okay, second inversion, third inversion. All right, back to position. Perfect. Thank you. Get idea. I don't need to try with a corn that has no multiple notes, like Okay, you can try this with as many notes as you want. And every time you come back to the same conclusion that the number of inversions is equal to the number of notes miners one. Okay, perfect. Now, how do we apply these chord inversions now? Sometimes you you play every nice court progression. You hear nice chord progressions like so that's six for 15 minute give c by your allies are moving all all over the keyboard. I'm moving from 6 to 4. So sometimes you might want to write the musical piece such that you don't have so many movements and have seamless progressions. You have progressions that lead into each other quite nicely. Now, this is where the inversion is coming to play. And this is where they become very, very fundamental to what you want to do. Okay, so you have, um, for example, you on the six court, which is the a minor chord here, right? You want to move to the F major chord Now, this is what you can do. You can try to see if their notes in this proceed in court. This current court its share some similar notes to the F major chord. So this is your a minor chord, and you want to move toe? I'm gonna put f major chord of my left. Do you want to move to this kind of court? So you can see here that clearly the a and the c r. Common. Okay, that also has a and C so we can keep them right. But unfortunately, this year is my part of F major chord and we are missing f. Okay, so I need to move that finger to the F. That's it. Right? So I've been able to move from an aim a minor chord, like a minor chord toe, an f major chord by just moving a single thing. I'm not. First you're moving all three fingers like that, but now you're moving just one finger. You see that? Break it. Now we're going to try. So we've done on the six to the four. We're going to move to the one which is a C major. Right? So what am I going to do again now? The C major, This is a C major here, right? That's the C major here. So what? Notes are similar? This note. It's not in the C major chord, so I need to move it to the closest notes in the C major court. So if I look here, this a closest notes in the C major chord will be the G. So I need to move that to the G. All right, so now G is good. See? It's also okay, so I can take that out. See on then. I moved the last of this. F is no part of the C major chord, so I need to move f t e. Right. So that's that's a C major chord again. When you're playing these inversions, you can decide to double double the notice that Okay, stop with a single. So now, three course, I've been played seamlessly without necessarily moving all your hands. Okay, so that's a the A minor out of six. Nikki off. See to the four by just moving one finger here, uh, and then to the one like that, and then the last card. You want to move to the five? Okay, so here this is spot on the five court. This is not part of a five course. I need to move this to the nearest noted the five chord. You ask yourself, Do you want to move it to the D r. The be all right. If you move, that's a dead d. You may have a problem. You have to find it. Be on the other way. That's too. It doesn't make sense. Right? So you have to bring this down to the bean, and then that's today. That's and you get scored. So from from this 1/4 to 5 Corps, what is that? One way of playing, right? So it's going to be six one finger today. One. All right. That's why you get that sound right. It's a rhythm right? Can play with break it. So this this this is how you're going to play this and the same court progression can be made to sound differently. That's a different time, right? So this is one position. So what if you want to play the same corporation, which is a six floor 15 using difference court inversions. Okay, so just try and practise this first, starting with the roots position on the sick with the six court or the lie. Some of the opposition with fire. You have your finger on that trying to it in other keys as well. Okay, this is gonna probably take a while, but if you're mustard is, trust me, it's totally worth it. Okay, so that's right. In the key of C shop, you play the six in the position and the same idea used and see you moved just the pinky to the to the next notes and ego that for corn, right? So it's gonna be o f sharp. And then you move that down that down. It's very important. Also know how they look like, and it's going to make it easier for you to get it. Advocates I see completed Malachy's more multiple keys. I mean, the options are limitless. So now let's say you want to try other court positions, right? Um, so this is Yeah, You started in the right position. Then you can You can try. Let's see. Now you want to start the sixth chord in the first inversion. So how do from the first inversion, you take the bottom notes to the top, Right? So that's how you want to start your court. Is the festivities this still on a minor? Right. So if you want to form the f major chord, you see the business part of the F chord. But this is not part. So I need to move that here and a spot of Therefore So now I have a court, right? So I'm gonna move six to the for life. I want to move to the one. This is part of the one chord. This is not part of what I need to move it down. Part of a long court. I'm off it down. Right. And if I want to get the five court from here, I need to ask myself, Are you part of the one of the five card? No. I move it to the closest you part of the five card no movie to the closest. Right. And I have a seamless because I have the six and on four and the one five. So it's gonna be there by now. Major C Major, if that's the song you want in your song, you can go, uh, big. Then go. Uh, you can try all their rhythms that there is. This This has been quite a long cause, but it's important that year. But it gets these different positions off how you can play the courts. Okay. Now, court inversions. I also used to, um, play specific voices. Now voices how your voice accord, that kind of inversion you used the note on top is going to determine how the court sounds like. Okay, So, for example, you can play seem a jackal like that. And you see, I'm hearing this note more so the voice and hasta g Otto. Right? But someone could also play to the first division. That's version. So, for example, if I try something from scratch it, uh, like so, uh, let's say you you have a memory like, Okay, so you have a series, of course, but you want you want to use choose inversions that will make sure this, um, Teoh dry to the woman you're going. So simple eyes justice, This one there's a slash court here they could that someone will play. But to make it sound nicer, you can choose another inversion, which is in other lessons. We're going to look at how to use melodies and play them along with courts to make your music sound beautiful and well understood by people. Because when you play Jess courts, then you need someone to sing. But if you choose the right inversions and play the melody on top, you can easily find someone can easily know what song you're playing and follow. That's well, well, thank you so much for joining today's lesson for your practice schedule. Try to play all your major and minor courts in the difference Inversions. Yes, you can use a cycle of fifth out, put it on the screen and then, um, B flat major. So you go just with one finger on their notes. That's like that. That's your homework for today. Try take a couple of days a week. How long? No matter how long it's gonna take, make sure you get it down. You're able to play the different inversions very easily and fluently. For all your major and minor chords, you can just use major and minor cuts. It's fine. You don't need to do enough or diminished or other complicated courts. Use your major and minor chords and make sure you're able to be the court inversions for all he's courts. Perfectly good work and thank you for joining today's lesson. See you in the next one. 15. Lesson 14 - Right Hand Patterns: Hello, everyone. Welcome to today's Listen. Now, in this lesson, we're going to take a look a right hand patterns. So by the end of this lesson, you be able to understand how some of these intros and court patterns generated, for example, you probably have had is before you can create several ones. Now, these are very, very simple partners that I use to create amazing music. Okay. And all you need to do is tow follow in just a few steps. Okay? Now, the first step is you need to No, exactly. The court progression you want to play isn't going to be three steps. Now, you need to figure out what court progression you want to use. So let's go to the key of C, for example. Okay. And then, um, let's use a core progression like em the sea to the gym to the A minor and f. Okay. And otherwise just got called one to the 56 and four. Okay, Now, so does the festive. And you need to figure out what part and you want to use on your right hand. Okay, So, um, second step is do you want to figure out what parts and you want to use. Okay, so in this card, you realize there are three notes, for example here. Okay. And there's so many partners you can form within the four counts. So, for example, you can form one part of like, if you see this to be 13 and five or if you want to see him as 123 because he has three notes. So the first part, and could, for example, be, um maybe one. Okay, sorry. So not the best of partners. But this is just one example so that the progression would then be if you use this on the other course, we're gonna be. So if you have the left hand, you okay? And by just playing these partners, you slow them down and you play it. Okay. So, for example, found choose another parts and similar to the one that I played in the beginning of the video. Okay, it's going to be That's part of this. Won t o. Okay, there's 1232 the 1232 OK, so make sure you stick with apartment, so it's gonna be your plane is about the one Okay. Can you play this on a different progression? Let's say a progression is 15 to 4 C g D minor and a four f major. You can just go to the same party. Okay? That is our right hand partners. And you can get creative. Trust me, you can decide to You can decide to play this partners anyhow you want. There are so many ways you conform. You can Besides, Okay, I want to go see that. So that's a okay on the same progression. Let's go. And I think this was used in a particular song. Nuts. I'm not really tried it, but it goes like right. So that part is using that accord, but is inverted. So we'll talk about that on the thirsty. So is inverted like that. Okay, Very good. So when we get into the third step will take these two examples and analyze how they probably found it. And so you conform years. So the first step, you figure out the progression. So, for example, if the song is already there, you wanna create an intro, you pick the song progression, and then you sit down, try some of these Parton's 12321231 3231 Whatever you want. Okay, you play them. If it sounds good to you, you're the musician. So if it sounds good to you, stick to it. Okay? And then after you after you get this, you play the over the court permission. Now, the next thing is, um, maybe your song progression already has. You've already figured out to the court inversions you're going to be using for this. So the first step is, if you have chord inversions you're using for this ill advised that even use these court inversions to play these Parton's. So, for example, if you have in the progression ways and if you're playing a C to a D it's what to, um, a minor major. If you're playing a, for example, like this. Okay, so all you're going to be using us. And if you want to play, for example, you're playing the, uh okay. So you got to play the city, okay? Like that. Very simple. Okay, so you find your court, you find the parts and you want to choose, and I'll give an example of patterns. Yeah, and then you find, which if you have them in inversions, you play them over the inversions, and that's not really good. So just two ended. I can show you how the the song in trials play before. I believe it's until someone like you, Um, and it's a very good example, right? So for that it was playing Nikki of a in the first quarter. Said a major chord. Okay, And then you take it to the A flat seam. I shot mine Accord over the A flat. It's just a C sharp, minor chord, pretty much. But then you have the a flat on the bottom here. So you move from that to that fast, you need to practice the course that make sure you have a cost down before you start using your patterns right to see a to that. And then it goes to the F sharp like that's just okay, simple off Dave board with a perfect fifth. And then you go to that the D cork with this kind of invasion, try important to get a time in this world, right? And then if then the next step is okay. What? Parton's the play I use it. 123 is gonna be a similar part. And throughout then you play slowly. Same pots of you, Frank. All right, that's pretty much The whole song is beautiful, right? The next one, it's another not to show what it's outside. It's probably hey, enough. But if you know that, you probably know it. That's it's also going to play like you have a as well. Okay, so we're gonna play isn't a major corn. It would be my own accord a d major. Ever look at it. Well, is going to be the progression at one to a to which is a minor to s six, which is a minor. And then it's before, which is a major. Okay, but it's late, an inversion so amazing these inversions eyes sick, universal for the accord, using the second invasion for the B minus one of the two chord. And then using this again for that that support or six Ford and coming down to the no more roof position for the four car. So it goes, and then the next point is going to be a practice. This court progression make sure you get the 03 time it is important for after you get that down that you go to take the part and your part in the deeply e o. Okay, So Okay, so in doctors song, they added a few knows when something Uh, yes, Not not too sure of none. Listen to it and try to play it vividly. But it's, uh okay, So thesis are you crazy? Says I'm trying to get your mind to it that you can create to these songs on your own, and it's perfectly okay to choose your own patterns and how you want to play them. But if you hear them in songs, you should be able to hear them. Take this These tests that I should in three steps you friends get the progression. You practice the progression and get usedto wit sick and you find out a Parton and plates. And if you are making your own music, if possible, tried to use chord inversions and they sound much, much better. Okay, so thank you for joining today's this lesson and seeing the next one 16. Lesson 15 - Left Hand Patterns: Hello, guys, and welcome to today's lesson. Today we'll be taking a look at left hand. Parton's in the periods lesson. We took a look at the right hand patterns and today will be going into the left and patents for people's off this tutorial. Of course, we'll take a look at much more off the basic Parton's simple partners that you could do with your left hand when you are playing. So I mean, when your your plane for let's say, Let's take an example of a court progression in the key of C Let's take the 1564 which is a popular chord progression, but as the one right and then the five, which is a G and then six, which is the a minor at a four. OK, so if we add our left hand to it would usually play the one in five years right today for 234 34 Okay, now, what if we wanted to, you know, do some nice partners on the left to make a sound? Uh, and it's just a little better. Okay, so, um, the first person I will look into here's the 151 partner I like to call it. So this the one? Okay. And that's the five. Even they are playing with your fourth finger. Does a five off the court, Okay. And then the one So you try to stretch your hand to sort of reach these octave note. Yeah. Okay, so what? Okay, so it's time you strike a chord. You could just play the 151 It says going so like, 34 34 34 Okay, I'll take a decongestant left time. So the c G and C 151 they do the same. 151 under G, same pots into routes. And then the a minor, Stace. 151 Okay, very good. When you do that while plane the same court. Right. Okay. Now, if you're familiar or your conversant with the chord inversions by now you can try to get a cordon version that makes it sound a lot better. Because what I like to advice is that you try to keep make sure that there's not a lot of gaps in between. Right. For example, if you play the score, you played a C here and play the 151 You can see that this g below here is left Vacanze. So you have a very huge got in between here. Right in between. You have right here. So in this case, are preferred to, you know, go with a different inversion of the court by Abdin bringing the G to the bottom here. So I played this'd version of the C chord is right. So if you do, uh, that obviously, if you want to go to the five chord, as we did previously, the 5/4 a g chord rate. So this notice Okay, that notes It's not a g chord. I need to bring it close. We're not to there. And then that right and then to the a minor and f a A said There's the A minor If I want to move to, That's the six. If I want to move to the Ford and I just This is part of the Ford. This is part of the forward. That's not part of the basic floor, so I need to take it up, right? There's gonna be 1234123412 see. 1234 All right, Excellent. Let's try that with 15 Very good. So that's the first part. Try and practice with this in Isla Keys as well. In the key of and see shops. Same progression with according version, if you're not okay. The court admission. Just reposition. Okay, That's okay for Frank practice. Okay. Um yeah. So just our plates and roots positions so that you're conversant with them. So 151 Parton slowly. Right. Uh, play along with it. Let's take it to the Nesky. Why not? Okay, so, um yeah, take it up here. Uh uh, Okay, very good. Try this in all you ever keys. No KIIS more difficult on the other. All that it takes is to practice. OK, so this no better key. Okay. Very good. Then, um, we'll take the ness left hand pattern. So the next left on part? It's quite some little if I won, I call this the 152 So trying to talk to see again? This is 151 And obviously the two is just a tone after the one. Okay, just spice it up a little bit. So you're gonna play like, uh, right, Right, But 5 to 152 Okay, because I don't know, mind the right hand part thinks you just busy cords for now. You want to lead the way? Okay. Okay, So there's a 151 Try to the key off. Let's take You have f k. That's gonna be Oh, okay, Vega, let's try the let's take the last, um, parted on the left hand So that so I called. There's a 15123 Okay, trying to the C 15123123 Okay, so 151 then you you skip that and bring this finger here on that sound Comes to 315 okay, on the sexist one. So just keep playing notes that I would deem the major scale because I am. I get tricky on there on the six. Right. So thats the six scored, and this is one that's true. And the free is here. Okay, is a minor third. We haven't gone into intervals yet, but that's the minor third. OK, so So 15123 and four. So using the same court progression so you can choose to play it a little faster for the courts. Let's go toe see shop, right? Yes. Same idea. Okay, so make sure that when you play these things you you play in some of the keys, you need to play them the best. The best way that your fingers feel comfortable, right? Safe. It's on a D o C. That so that's a bit tricky. That 15123 Okay, so the D and the ace, because of three goals up, is difficult to play its a farm. That's difficult. So you go. You play like this. 1551 on surfing goes there. So if I try and play in the Kills, um, in the key of D. Okay, what is this find? Okay, so, uh, that that that was it for today's lesson. Left hand patterns. And if if you could just create your own music with these if you have a song you can choose to sometimes play them in. Okay. Any progression whatsoever? He have a 1515 to 4 progression. The key of C can easily dio okay. Makes it sound much better If we want to create your interest. You can easily add the right hand patterns to the left hand patterns. Right? So, for example, I don't let me try and make something. I want to go the right on. Parts in, off through. Okay, 312 once a 1 to 1. Okay. Remember. So you're gonna go? You can just try and get more creative and create a different Parton's in there, and I will make your place on much, much better. Okay, So go out there and explore. And thanks for joining today's lesson. See, in the next one. 17. Lesson 16 - Using the Sustain Pedal: Hello, guys. And welcome to today's lesson is going to be a very short lesson. And but very important, we're going to look into how to use the sustain pedal. So I'm sure most of you have been wondering. Probably if if you've no use the sustain pedal Yet throughout this course, you probably have been wondering how come when you play your court sounds a bit, you know, separated, For example, If don't mind the courts, I'm going to play here. But I will try and play a piece without the sustain pedal and try it with using the sustain pedal and see how it goes. Okay, so for example way. Okay, now, I was quite symptoms even used a sustained, but, um, I tried as much as possible not to play if I tried to play the same piece with the sustain pedal, decided my song like, uh, all right. A system that makes it more fluid. Right? - Okay . Reagan? No. So the Sistine, so simple. It's basically used to make the cords sound more together. OK, so if I play, for example, a C major for like, this and then I moved to an f chord Uh, and then I moved with you. The moment I lift my hand from the keys, the sound stops. Uh, okay, I'm playing a simple 1564 Okay, favorite progression. All right, but if I use the sustain pedal, what a difference. Reagan. So one thing you should be Careful. Office one, using the sustainable on A you cannot place your leg of the pedal and just play. Put your leg place, place your leg on the Padang. Play throughout life. Yes, everything comes together, OK? And that doesn't sound good. So you need to make sure that every point in time, the sustain pedal to sustain in one court, Okay? And Avery, the easiest way I take you my student is too. Do, um play step approach. Okay, so what we say issue, play the cord, and then you step. Okay, So let's practice very slowly. You relies on the screen, you see a green sustain. You see something written on the top of the keyboard saying, sustain. Whenever I hit a president of pedal, you see its light up green. Okay. So you can use that to follow. And for electric keyboard, you can buy an existing Potala. Small as long as when you play it sustains a note. That's fine for the main acoustic piano. The big ones. You're going to be using the pedal on the right side. Okay, This is a begin. Of course. Okay, so, um, we can try our 156 Forget using the sustain pedal. It's not going to be easy the first time, but you need to just take your time and get it right. Okay. So going to do it. Play Step three for okay, plays. Three. So you need to play the second cord, and then you step on the pedal. What that is going to do is the moment to this guard. This is fine. Is the fair score. So no problem with that. The moment you play this again cord. Now it's a mixture of the first and the second court. Now you need to take your leg off the pedal. So easy. It's all the notes. I light it up on the screen. So I need to lift off my left on the pedal to take the old court out before I step on this score to sustain the court again. Okay, so on my screen. You said I want if I sustain a contents orange instead of right. Okay, We'll try it again. So play step. I take my hand and move to the next chord. I play in a nice tech very quickly so that the sound changes very fast and I play with my step. Okay. 3434 Right. Stay 23 Still counting for place to three. Four plays, three. Okay for So play step. Okay, You just take a time in. Visualize it and think about that. Play. Step, play step. Okay, so plays that 34 All right, So you just gonna be practicing this profession step? Okay, place them for play. Step 3434 for Okay. So if so, when you play the second cord, you need to take off your legs on the pedals on my step in. So you move your life on the fanatics of the old court and by step in you, you pinch down the new court. Okay? So try not to take off your leg from the pedal whenever you take your hand from that's new course of the next court. Right? For example, if I like this and I move and I take my life on the pedal. Oops. I love the sound there, but I need to play. Hold it down, move my legs on the pedals that I play in and I stay okay for tonight, man. See how fast that is for that? Okay, try not to, you know, take off your leg from the middle, right before the court. Then escort hits like, for example, Try not to do this. Still, he had a break right there. That's coordinates to come down. And then as soon as it hits, the leg goes off and then step pushes him now. Okay, so I'll try one more time. So 34 play with me. Three. Foote's play together with me for Okay, place. See, I take off my hand from the keys and still fine. Right. Three for three. For free. For way. Okay. Should we try? Not like Okay, my Strataki off a flat. Okay, not practice your a flat. You can use this opportunity to practice safe. So that one and then the five. Okay, what is the fact? And then the six, which is 1/2 bythe so that's right. So just try and whipped with this, um, try and play most off the songs that you already know Play them and while playing them, be using the sustain pedal all the songs that you're already and must our perfect this It might take a while, but take your time in. Let's get it right. Okay. Very good. Thanks for joining today's. Listen, I'll see you in the next one. 18. Lesson 17 - Introduction to Melodies: Hello, everyone and welcome to space. Listen now in today's lesson will be taking a look at Melo declines. So it will be just a brief introduction to melodies. Now what's the melody? A Melody is basically a sequence of notes, single notes that makes meaningful music. Okay, So if I play, for example, famous Melody Mary Hedonism, that's a melody. Okay, and usually what we play music. It's melodies that stick out a sauce out to the listener. Okay, so you may be playing the course, but as the melody off, What's this vocalist of the singles singing out? Or if you're playing the melody along with your chords, that's what makes it stand out a bit more. OK, so I'll just take Take us through how we can easily add melody to our courts from, you know, the most basic wait'll ah away that is still basic, but yet more pleasing to the ear so sounds musically better. OK, eso. The most important thing is that first of all, you need to gets your Melody Dow okay, you need to know what the melodious and be able to reproduce it. Okay, So for example, in this melody, it starts on the E. Okay, now there are two ways off memorizing a melody. Memorizing very well. Ineligible to plate in multiple Theo E. Okay, so and how am I able to play? It's everywhere is because I've used a system to be able to understand the melody. Okay, so the system I use is I use a soulful system. Okay, so I memorize this melody, for example, in the key of C. So this is Dorie and so Okay, so me be Renault, maybe maybe, really means so. May we re me? Me? Me? Don't be radio. Okay. Now, if I'm able to memorize it like this, any single key that I go into if I want to play the same song Vicky of Geo, locate this is doing okay. It's just gonna be me. Mm. Me? Be okay. Now, that's a That's the first step. Okay, You need to assign a system to it if you're not comfortable with so office. But I would really recommend use this office. And when you're dealing with melon, discuss this way easier. Okay? You could use numbers as well. So, in the key of C, then you have 12345 Right. Taking, say, 3212333 to 2 to 35321233312 to Mito one. Okay, if that's called double for you. So now, after you get your melody down, then the next step is, um what you need to know what the court progression to this sequence are. So the first note goes down, and for this, um, Mary had a little The mortgage is a very simple probation is just going to move from the one to the five to the one. Okay, so But what? I mean, like this. So So if you're playing just a court and someone was saying in adobe five what? 115 way. So now? So that's the first type is we need to practice the right and make sure we have it very well. And then we start to bring the left, and you can just start with a single notes first. Okay, So use your pinky for those moving, because you're going to be at another notes later, right? So Okay, that's first step. Take it to the next level right now. We at the five to its. OK, so sounds much better. Right? Practice? Not for a while as well. Now you have it down that aisle. Advise that you, you add takes was five. So, like this step, right? Then you try to see if you can play around with some of the left hand pattern that we we studied in the previous lesson. Okay, So if you've not gone through the lesson, I'll suggest that you take a look at that lesson, okay? And, um, so we can start with the most basic off left. Okay? And if you want to take it to the next step, which is you want to go 152 So he's got similar. Uh uh uh. Okay. Sounds good. Already. All right. Um, there's another way where we're that is going to start off. Harmonize it. But we're not talking about harmonies today, so we'll keep it. A single notes, melodies. Okay. Now, if you like, you could puts court into them. A according to them. But that's how money, So we'll get into that a bit later. For now, we just want to play left hand and simple melodies to sound very good. So we get our hands used to the keyboard. Okay. Good. Um, I'll take another song that some of you may know. Some of you. Maybe not. But it's a song that we played here. Hernia. Okay, it's here. I'm toe worship. Um, it's a gospel tune. Uh, So, for example, if we do that Akio See, now the progression of the song is, uh one, five, 654 Because I goes away here. Here I am, Teoh. Here I am. Teoh down five Here am to Seo. Very simple. So? So I will take us just a minority. So let's say if I wanted it out, Play the song with the melody and accords right now, I could just I need to find a military vessel. He starts here. I am tired at. Um Okay, that sounds good. Okay, now, I could probably just play the melody way. OK, but if you want to find intermediate, starts forms quieter, the sounds like it's coming lower, right? Ah, uh, that sounds like it's going up so that you find your military okay. Now, if I want to memorize on each assigned self estimated thesis 12345 So Don't worry me first also finally me re me me find me me, way for me Me, me, me, Me. So then I start to add the corporation to it was the fire me, me raid and one court. So you need to know where the melody and accord comes together. OK, so let me start slowly with just there that there was No, it's OK, so So you need to know where that the courts are coming. So if you practice that once again All right. Uh, there. Now you need to at 15. I think this habits sometimes melodies going in a different time in with the left hand. But that's good for practice, right? They try to practice, even if you don't know the song gets memorize a melody and try and play with it. Okay, so now we take to the next level parts, right? I've probably not tried this before, but we can try. Okay. Okay. Break it, then we can try. 152 Que sauce. License tried. So, uh, okay. You want to take it to the next level? You could try 123 Never tried it, But let's give it a go. So All right, get so this. This is how we tried to add melodies to courts. Now, one other way, you could also start with instead of using There's the one in five. You could actually play the right on court. You would have been blame on your left hand. Okay, so in this case is going to be the whole three notes you use a 135 years to so they. But then you need to make sure that it's not getting muddy as you go to the left. So you could try, um you could write right? If you like Strawman down My last right. Let's get okay . Very good. So this'll has been a on introduction to Melodies. How to admit Release to your play Now give it a go play A song A simple song that you know has very simple progression Find this get the progression down Get a melody Try to line them up to each other No way the melody Certain notes In a melody Melody meets up with the court progression in the left hand And give it a go Keep practicing. You can just use the ones that we've examples that we've done in this lesson Play longer them onto your hands are very flexible with plain some of these beautiful melodies with courts. And, uh, see you the next one. Thank you for joining me today. 19. Lesson 18 - Reading Chord Charts: hello and welcome to this tutorial in this tutorial, will be looking at Car Chance now have received several questions from people. Ask it, How do I, you know, land songs as a beginner? Because I probably don't have that level off hearing to be able to hear, you know, the progressions in songs and all that. So that's a bit difficult for Begin issue. No to land songs. I believe one easy approach is to use coarse chance. Now, um, if you are lucky enough, maybe the song when you're trying to learn is available in court shots already out there, and you might be longing to pick that up. Or one other musician could also send you a court shot and you can work with it. So, you know, of course, that is very important now, in a lot of you to play songs from court that's important to know exactly what the courts I and how to play them. Because court charts don't show you what finger to put where. It just tells you pretty much what court to play at what point in time. So you need to know at least your major chords. Mine accords just sauce to suss for On These are the course that you be meeting quite a lot in court shots and the other calls, like Seven calls, which you might meet along the way. But that's what we at an intermediate level. So in this course will try as much as possible to do away with on this diminished chords. And the seven courts has a one, So we'll look at one example now if you try to run a Google search for a song the courtyard of a song, you may get one for months way. You have just the lyrics, and it's indicated what courts where right on top of the lyrics, it's much may be structured form. This is not really a court chance, but it's a way to get you to know what course to play. I want to be ableto play something like that, just like the example that showed on the screen on you most likely have to know how to sing the song already and have a feel of how the singles now the proper court chest usually looks, takes two forms. One could take the form off a clean core chance where it's just the courts and telling you the time in. So, for example, in the court shot of amazing grace that you see on your screen I've indicated that the time signature is 34 So this means you're going to count 123123 in that order. So whenever you you count one, the court comes down. So, for example, in amazing grace us you see in my simplified coach at the first chord is an f so 2312 to the B flat major 23 into the air to to the D minor 23 underbody. My now 232 a c e baiter 23123 The backs of the F major 23123 23 major, three d minor to three d data to see 03123 So you see in this Corchado have this luscious to indicates you know the Count Spartan. If you most of them are very easy. You just played a court on the one. But if you look at the bottom, that is a bit of a different time in there from the last line after the face D minor to three when you play the second D minor. Nice. If you see Dennis, the Psi Corps comes on the three. Not all the one. So you have a D spine and for one D minus, funding for one and two. And then a c major comes off the threesome. Yeah. 123123 Okay, so this is very important to know where you're going to place your courts when you read some of these court shots now, Yeah. So, for example, in things, this is a very, very simple core chance which, if you know your course, you should be able to pick up and play. You may be lucky to have a culture where the lyrics written under the particular the particular chord. So you may tell you that on the f court, play nuts on mais on the May See Grace writes in the grace another house mean so that maybe came under sweet. You play a every flat sport, for example. Okay, so, uh, let's let's take look at the difference. Maybe a more sort off a little bit advanced. Amazing grace. This one has 1/7 chord in there. Maybe we got googly land a seven course I pretty much 1/7 chord This when you see something like an F seven, it's called a dominant seven court. And that's you Just play your major chord and add you other the flat seven on the side. I know we've not Probably not talking about it, But if you know this So for the purpose of this course for the dominant Agdam, Lance of in court is going to be this F major chord and the other e flat on top here. Okay, so if you try to play that the first Cardizem at major to three So what? Every dominant to three to a B flat major, too. 31 F major to three, then toe d minor. Now we see this next court. It's a slash ford. So from watch me, if you don't know about slash boss, I suggest you take them on less Imo slash courts s Oh, this is going to be a d minor chord with a G bay. So you could take this kind of quarter. Okay, so are they. Starting from this camera is a demon to 3 to 3 in the sea to three. And then that's a C major with a I mean, seeing grace, our house d minor, d minus last G to see that's what. 23 23 to three to minus 23 So you see what I came to? The If there's an FCS for major major assess for us when you suspect the third to the floor . Excellent. So, uh, court chance, I'm not very difficult to be not so long as you knew your basic courts. Okay, take another example. This is a song called 10,000 Reasons. And, um, in a 10,000 reasons, I try to pull this eso also say that thes court trucks, you can pick them up in various various styles. Now it's possible to meet the court shots, which is very sophisticated and look something like what you see on your screen. And that's just concentrate on with what's on the screen, concentrates on the trouble, Cliff, and just look at the merits of the soul. So this song is the key of D. OK, so it starts with we'll just ignore the Internet stuff from So yeah, it starts on the d chord. So because Blessed, Blessed So some spatter from the G chord so you can see the count in this song is therefore full count. So this for four counts means that we've seen every single bar I need to come four times. Now you can see clearly in the song that the courts are sort of spaced with two counts because two cards come within about. So it's going to be when I play the G chord. I need to call it just too, because she's not taking up the entire bar. Okay, you don't need to really know how to read stuff, even though that's good. But by just knowing how to count here, that's favorite beneficial. So with a g chord, one to decode to my goals one, eh? Go run two and then be minor. Okay to then a g major, OK. And OK, so with this kind off court chancy, Just look at the first that the treble clef signal the sophisticate animals. You see that and look at just the trouble cliff and followed the lyrics as well. To give you an idea of where you are now made us much simpler. Ovation off the of the 10,000 reasons which pull up. I had to put this together myself, and it's much easier. So let's let's go through. That's very easily. So we'll start on the first court. So I've written Bless the Lord there. So the Lord does when he had fasted the blessed Lauren G o my dear A to B minor. Okay, so that was an excess for and toe a right basis for Major. Right? Going to the third by June be my now then the G a c minor. Okay, so let's talk about the counts there you can see as four counts. So this is 1234 And in that bar you saw G to one count a took one counts and be my number one count as well. So that's G A. B two b might not takes two counts. So it's going to be 1112 Then the next corner. Look like why? To and then a g over a d, right. Perfect. Let's take it again, toe. Bless the more a B minor that. Okay, now, of course, you can use chord inversions if you're not very comfortable with called inversions. Just stick to your route. Position courts, and you'll be fine. But if you're comfortable with Corden versions, you can easily play. This song is called Russia's Like that. I'm playing the cord on both counts, and that's comes to rhythm, which is used as well. There's no problem with that, right? So all right? A. That's a very easy and simple way, so I'll advice. If it's difficult for you to hear songs and play them, just grab a chord charts and play along with the core chant led the cause on the court chance, and you can place in the band or in the church wherever you want to play this. Now, in the next lesson, I'm going to teach you how to pick the same court. Trant converted into the number system and be able to play it in every single key on the keyboard. Thank you for joining today's lesson, and I'll see in the next one 20. Lesson 19 - Transposing Chord Charts: Hello and welcome to today's listen now. Industry tutorial will be taking a quick look at how to take your court that you played from the core chart into allergies. Now it is, um, is very, very important to you to know this because you might not be lucky to find a setting where songs I always played in the original keys. So the best approach is to lend a song from the court charts, try to convert them into a language that you can understanding all the other keys. And it's a very simple process. I'll show you that in this tutorial. Now, let's take, uh, a brief look at the the same song that we using the allergy to. Really? If you must see the editorial ill advised that you take a look at that. The part one off this session Now in this same tutorial, which does it with the songs in the key of D. So the first line it starts for machine to a D. That's what A and B minor. Okay, so this is what you do. You know the key. We're planing key of d right? You're going to play the major scale of the key of B at a key of D and pick house your members or your Sophos, which advise comfortable. So the Kiev do you have? Do it faster, Tito. 12345671 Okay, so now the first court is a G two. A d. D. Is obviously one. So what is the G, the Giza four. But if you don't know that, then you can find Okay. 1234 Right. And you already know that four is always, I mean, a major court the nature of the 4/4 of major court. So you could easily take a pen and paper as I've taken my pen. And people here friend writes that the progression of the song goes with 40 k G. So it won. Okay, that's a D. And it goes to a a Right that g was a four is a fire. Okay. 12345 So it goes on a 4 to 1 to five, and then it goes to B minor, right, Toby, the B as a six and as a minor, so you can just write Six says, you know, that season is going to be a minor if you like. You can write my around your paper. That's fine. Okay. And then we go to the next line. I'm going to be faster at it goes back to G, which is a four game to a one, and then it goes to a five. But it's a sauce force and can write five suss for toe. A normal 5/3 mine. It goes to a four game and I goes to a six. I don't need to write a minor because six is already on by nine. My head, then my right. Ah, for five or six. Okay. And usually what I do is if I want to really know what's going on there on, I know that all the timing off all the courts are too. So I don't need to write you to to everywhere. But I know that this four and five one count so I can write exponents won there 456 And then it goes toe Last line. You have a four a five, and this is the g slash D. Now, that's, uh, that's a four. The jesu for slush. The one Okay. And then back to the one so you can do this in the number system. Now, I could put our put up on the screen as well on those who are family familiar with the sofa system. So then that was going to sort of 4156 is going to be a fire door so loud. Okay? And I put the alternative for that as well. Now, knowing this, I can just ignore the court chat, come to my piano and look at my numbers and started playing. So bless the floor toe 56 You know what? Let me leave this key. Let me go to the key off. This is Nikki of Dilemma goes the key of C. Okay, so what is the key of seeing right? And I know where my 4/4 right? Remember the forecourt in the key of C and 34 it's an f. Right. And this is the five. And this the six. Right? So let's start to play to the kiss. So blithe one right. Fine toe a six to a four to a one, then a 5 May s us for right. And then he goes. Therefore, And six, 4562 guns, right for five. Okay. Who There? You have it. You can now play the same song that you lend by Converted these courts into the number system you completed in a single key. I can go to the key of, for example, F shop. Right, So So Okay. So, uh, bless the for for where? Six right for one five suss fort with major for six, Right? For 56 Right. For sighs. Okay, let's try it. 11 Lasky, Um, kills will be okay. So you have to bless the Lord for one work. So I have 56 Okay, let me use a sulfates for this one. So So that's four to Nome. Also, 56 right to a 456 12 45 to a four over the one. Okay, so this is this is a day powerful, too. If you know this, trust me. You're going to be fine. Just make sure you know your chords in every T. And if you don't know a song, you pick up a court shots plays an original key, be conversant with it in the original key culverts. The court chance into numbers off the sofa system. And while you can plait in every single key Okay. Very good. So this this is a very powerful tool. For example, in the amazing grace that we did if I pulled it up. Amazing grace. I see that isn't the key off F right? Okay. Not a first court is a F s Southern, right? Like that, and we'll be floods. It's one of my list. Let's start to convert this. I take my hand and paper, and I know they have to be just killed. 1234567 more. Okay, so the efforts work in the major scale. The B flat is for one to drink for right? So I converted and I say one. And for my one, I go to a 17 The seventh of the one, of course. And then I go to her four and the box were one. And then the second line I go to a six because the mine Isis six, right? Want 23456 team. I remember that my nice a six time. So I go to a six, and then my, that's a six slash the tool which is a G. Okay. Want to Okay. And then it goes toe, See which is a 512 fine, Right? Five. And then it goes to a five slash seven case of a C slash D, which the 7567 perfect and then the next line is a warm No. One's seven. A game for, uh, one and then a 66 lush, too. Then he goes to a 500. No one warms us four and back to women. So I picked this number system. I can easily then take it toe analogy, because now I'm not bound to any key. I can quickly move to the key off. So it's a wild toe. A wind subsidy. What to so what? 23121237 to a four ads with 431 2326 six, 557 Okay, 123 Let's toast. Okay, so let's I convicts every song into every key. So by memorizing this progression, I don't need any court shots again in any key. I don't need him to rewrite a core Chatham and lucky for me to play, it's just way all right, use a versions, right? All right. Okay. I get creative off course. You know, pounds using the wrong major court stated in this song, you can always use the improved cost like the SAS two or two. So I can start with a major to court. I don't necessarily todo stand that major court. Okay, so that's that's how you go about it. Experiment. Explore with these courts and all the best. Pick up a couple of songs you like. Find out the chord charts. You know, dig into the Internet, get their culture. It's pull them out, play them if they don't sound this all, of course. Don't sound as good as you talk. They should sound. You can easily, you know, put on alternative cord there, right and downplay them in Original Key. Converted into the number system on the sofa system and played in every single key on the keyboard. Thank you for joining today's lesson, and I'll see in the next one 21. Lesson 20 - The 1 5 6 4 Chord Progression: Hi everyone. This is Kingsley from piano with Kingsley.com, where we aim at helping you excel with ease. Now in this tutorial, we'll be taking a look at a very popular progression in, on piano and music in general. By studying this progression, you'll be able to unlock up to 80% of all the songs that you hear are the most of your favorite songs. So let's get right into the tutorial. So one of the most popular chord progressions is the one 5-6 for progression. Thus one 5-6 for progression in other parts of the world is also called a dough. So laughs, progression. Whichever, whichever style or whichever system you are used to. This is fine. But you need to make sure that if you're not using a number system or some sort of software system to help you go around in a course with these, please do wealthy, pick one of these systems are recommended a number system. You could also use the dose or lava, which is a software system if that makes you comfortable. Now, the 1564 is basically picked out of the major scale. If, if seen my other tutorials, you see that? If that, for example, in the key of C, you have the major scale. All right, so that's a 12345671. Ok, so this means that the see as U1, thus d2, a3, and then a four is the F 5-6 701. So the one 5-6 for progression then is going to be, see, right, which is the one, and then 2345 and the major, and then a sixth. And so basically we'll be moving through 1564. Okay, perfect. So now the only thing you need to know to be able to play this in all the 12 keys, is to know your major and minor chords. So if you're not familiar with plain major and minor chords, I'll put a link up there which you can click and easily go to the other tutorial video where I spoke about this in detail. Now, what you should know is that the scale of the southern nodes, the 145, is usually a major chord, okay? So diachronically, the 145 major chords and the two 3-6 minor chords, that seven is a diminished, but we'll discuss that later on. But for today, you only need the 1456. So you need to know that one, 4-5 major, the sex as minor. Ok, so this means that for the one chord, I'm going to play a chord on the OneNote in which in this case.'s. The c. So it's going to be a C major chord, right? Which is that. Ok. You're going to play it with your 1351, 4-year, okay? And to the five chord, which we can count 12345, that's a G. I'm gonna go there and play a G major chord. That's correct. So that's a G major chord. And then that if it was a major chord would have been at a major but no integer. Remember that the six is a minus a. Remember to reduce this down to this node to make it a minor. Ok? And then deaf, four or the far S, a major chord, F major. So the whole progression is going to sound like this. 1234234234. Okay? So it's the 156. Okay. I'm sure you're already 100, whereby head is before you had it in thousands of songs, are they trust me, lots of hills on lot of gospels follow this same progression all the time. Okay? Now we'll look at some quick examples of example songs where this progression is. Okay? So for example, one variation is sometimes you can have it arranged in different ways, right? We'll talk about some of varying men's In this tutorial. And you see that sometimes I arrange it different ways. For example, in this arrangement, you see it as 15654 to a 500 and placed between the six and the four. And you have a song, for example, what a beautiful name. So that's what a beautiful name. It his right. What a beautiful name matters. And name of Jesus Christ. Okay. What a beautiful name it as one. Nothing compares this cry. What a beautiful name. That name changes. For example, here I am to share. Here I am to be, here I am to say to me. Ok, so you see that I'm doing some grace, grace notes. They just make the progression sounds a little better. So you can just flip onto the third Scala grace not so whenever happening, major chords do with that. You can, you can do it mostly on the major poets are doing this to make it sound a little better. Okay? So this is a very powerful progression. You, you want to be able to play this every single key S. Main focus of this channel or this tutorial, is to make sure that you are not stuck in playing songs in a single key. And where to show you an easy trick that you can use to find your chords in all the other keys. You can, you'll be able to find this one 5-6 propagation all the love in other keys. Now, this is the trick. After player one chord. You realize that this finger is already on the five. Okay? So why not use this to find your 604? So all I know is that my six is a tone above the five. So that's 12. Does a 64 is the tone below. So that's it. In any key that I go to. As long as I play my one chord. And I noticed this by five, I could easily come down. Then I prefer to play the five below the one sounds much better than one. I think I prefer, I prefer to play live like that. So if I play one here, then the five comes down here. And I know my six as the tone above the five, but it's a minor chord. And the four is a tone below the five. Very good. So let's try it in another key. For example, the key of D. So that's the major corn, the moment I playlists, I know that this figure is already on the five. So all I need to move is to move here and played a major chord. Okay? So even without knowing that a major scale of DES, without knowing that numbers, indeed by hat, which were time you're going to get used to it after playing for a while. But without knowing this, by knowing that this finger is already on the five, after playing the one, I can easily move down. So the five, right? And then a tone above, that is this the 12. And I need to know that that's a B major, right? But the mind is like that. So That's a 54 is autonomy as well. Ok, so by knowing this, I can just move into different keys, the key of E, right? So I can do that. One, i, and then the six. Ok. So you can start to add a few feels. Yeah, then I'm going to make another tutorial where I give you simple fails. You can add into sound and little better than usual. Ok. So let's try one last key. Key of, for example, F sharp, right? So you have the one chord and I know that five is here, so like that. And six and the five. Ok? So the moment you get into the key quickly located on one chord and the 564 would just be a tone above it, the tone below, so at all is when you come to notes. So that's, that makes it very simple. Now we can, we can have a look at another variation of another variation of this progression. Sometimes you meet, you meet a variation like for one 5-6, okay? So it's the same sets of courts, but has been rearranged in another way. So you have the fall one 5-6. So for example, let's take another key. I'm not going to be OK. We always start from C and then we take it somewhere else, right? So that's C. So for one 5-6 Now that was a four, right? So 4156. So it is a song that way make up by snatch. It follow this kind of progression. So, so that's a given and so it goes like way make, I'm not a good thing, but just bear with me because like way make coworker, ski, darkness. That is u. Ok. And then I'm singing the lyrics, right? But you get high idea. So as way make a miracle worker 1526 by just knowing these four cards, right? 15. Ok, so, and we can take it to the next key in the key of C sharp, right? Thus, C-sharp. Thus my five. That's my one core does my five, thus my six. And that's my fault. So I want to play for one 5-6 way be better coworker. Right? I didn't say is. So come up here for one. Now because it's the begin. Of course I'm not going to be Plane Coordinate inversions. And I'm not going to be playing chord inversion is to confuse anyone. But if you know, chord inversions by armies, yes, have added and tried to experiment with it. So you can go. And we're going to announce our melody. Alleles TO call, tried to sound much better. But the most important thing is, you know, where you courts are and you can find them in every single key. I'll urge you to try and play this in every single key. Tribe. Practice this in every single key. Get, get them right. Play, play around. Make sure you come play on 1564 and all the 12 keys. And by doing this, you will be set to play a lot of songs out there. You can play in your church. You can start playing with a band and you can explore more even as you get onto the keyboard. 22. Lesson 21 - The 1 5 2 4 Chord Progression: Hi, and welcome to today's tutorial. This is Kingsley from piano with Kingsley.com, where we help you excel, which is now in this tutorial, the star is going to be a PO2 of the periods tutorial where we looked at the 15 6-4 chord progression. Now today is going to be a 1524 chord progression. And my aim is to introduce you to the two chord and how you can apply it or use it at most songs, if you're looking for it to knowing more about this, let's get right into the tutorial. So the 1524 chord progression from the previous tutorial, we know that one does. For example, in the key of C, you have 12345671, okay? So that's one, that's a five. And then that's your true. So an easy way to find your tool is that you know that a to acetone After the one. So that makes it super, super easy to find the two. Now, what you need to also note is that the two chord is a minor. So as we said the last time, 236 minor in nature. Okay, so the two chord we're going to play is going to be a minor chord, not a major chord, okay? So in this case of see it as a D minor chord. Okay? Very good. This 1.5.2 four chord progression is also called the dorsal raphe chord progression. Okay, so let's have one, okay, and a five here. So I guess coming and play that five. And I'll go down again and played it to which the ok. And then therefore, Okay, so I did a few flips here and write to to the four. Ok, perfect. So we tried to take this around to other keys as well. Okay, so let's go to the key of F, For example. Okay? So you have the one chord, and this is the five, right? So I just come here and play a C Major chord. And then a two, S says, I know my one as here. The two is definitely a tone after the one that says if you don't know it off head and I don't play major and it's clear mine. Okay, so, uh, plato progression again. So 1234 and then that's a 52 comes here, minor. And then afar is atan below the fire, right? Idea flips. Make a sounded good. You could do that as well. We'll take you through these kind of fails to mega sound good, right? Okay, no scatter off. Simple thing gives him, you can pick it up as fine. So one. Okay. For excellent. So we can try one more key, the key of B flat, for example. Okay, very good. So that's gonna be a one, right? There is the five. Now the two is a total after the one, right? And it's a minor chord. And the four right button one. I urge you to try and do this. Every single key going into every single key tried to play, or 1.5.2 four chord progression. Since you already know the one 5-6 for. And by doing this, you're going to also unlock. And lots of other songs out there. I'm going to treat it only two examples in this, in this tutorial. And by playing it over and over again, you're going to get used to the sound and you know easily when you listen to a new song you want to learn and it's a similar chord progressions. Okay, so the first song is, I believe, grade Ru Lord. Ok, so I'll take it in the key of speak a key, a key of B. So it's 15. Okay? May see that sometimes I'm adding this notes, I'm going to treat this in another tutorial, but if you already know this, you can play along with me. I'm just adding this to add an extra color. Okay. That's called a second. So there's a major R2 code. I'll go more into detail in another tutorial so you have the grade. Are you learn? You're worthy to be praised, too. Wedded to the 4A. Father you rain. That's also pretty much the whole song is something around us, right? The second example would be a heart of worship. At the heart of worship by much vitamin K. So take that in the key of, I believe there is no key is not to show about what taking like EFG and maybe D afterwards. So it goes like cheeses are one set of five to the one. Ok, so 1524. So I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I'm glad I was able to show you a few things. If you are starting, starting with a keyboard, I'll recommend you take this progression, take it slowly played in one single key several times until you really get a hold of it and you're able to play it fluidly. If you let a little advanced, take this opportunity to practice your 12 key routine, play the song and all the 12 keys by modulating from one key to another. Or you can play through the cycle of fifths or cycle of fonts. Okay, thank you for joining today's tutorial, and I'll see you in the next one. 23. Lesson 22 - Play all songs with Only 4 chord Types: Hi. Have you ever been faced with a situation where another band player or a fellow instrumentalists called out a number for you, 375 and you have no clue on what kind of core to play in that particular instance that this is the right tutorial for you. And today's tutorial, I'm gonna show you only four core types which you can use on every single nodes on the major scale. And it's going to sound amazing, is going to work for most of the time. If the sun, something you are really interested in, then stay with me. Let's get right into the tutorial. Now introduce tutorial weight to be, let's say in the key of C. Ok? If you want to play, you need to know how to play certain core types. And trust me, for each single notes on the scale, the scale is 12345671. For each node on the scale, you have several chords you can play. But as a beginner, beginner, intermediate level, you need to find some safe courts, which you can use almost every time in every situation. So don't get me wrong. These are not the only courts you can use, but these are courts that work for almost a 100% of the time. Okay, so now for the 145 notes, you are going to have three options. You have the major chord, a major R2, and a-sub-2 chord. Okay? For example, in the key of C, you have the major chord to be 135. Okay? So the and in other minor quad has one flat 35. Ok? Now the major R2 is just a major chord with the two added. Ok? So there's gonna be 1235. C major to F major are to E-flat major to C-sharp major to have Shapley, y2, and so on and so forth. Now, for the SAS to court seat as a major chord with the three suspended to the second. So you replace the third with a second and there's a one to five, okay? So that's a C sus to an F sus to have shops as to C-sharp Sox2 and so on. Try to practice this in all the 12 keys, okay? Now, by knowing these four chords major, minor, major are to access to, you can easily play notes on every single key. So as I said, for your 145 notes in the progression, for example, let's do MCI OCI. For the one, you can play a major chord or major art to sustain. For the foia can do the same. Either major, major R2, five same major, major, u2. Now for the 326, you just lead normal minor chord. Minor. Ok, so just normal MANOVA to N6. Now, so at this, at this point you pretty much know your 14526. So you are left with 37. Now for the 37, which are going to do is use a SAS to court of another court over that 37. What am I saying? For the three chord, you're going to use a SAS to off the one chord. So in the key of C, this is a three, right? 123, right? Use a SAS two of the one chord like that. So you played a cis to the one chord and you can keep a single note here. I mean, you can open it up and play like this if you want. But let's keep it simple. Okay? And for the seven chord, you're going to use a SAS to off the five chord. So this is 707 and then you play as, as two of the five chord like that. Okay? So if you want to play up the scale, this is 1234567. You could play such two of the five. And now you may ask, why am I not play like diminished chord for a seven or a minor chord for the three. That's correct. Diachronically, that three is a minor, seven is a diminished chord, right? But in most, a lot of situations in gospel pop, most Jana, you will find out that the three planets as a straight minor sounds a bit of a southern plane. It as a diminished sometimes doesn't sound the way we want it to sound. For example, let's, let's play a song in the key of C. Same grade, are you Lord is going to be 152. Then we're going to add 34. And it will play a 671. I'll put a progression up. I'll play it with the normal. And I said I went play Naaman minor chord Medicare of C-sharp. Okay? So in the set I'm going to play a minor chord. And then the seven, I'm going to play a diminishment. And you hear how it sounds like. So it's gonna sound like this. You greatly to be phrase. It's not working. So. But if I replace this third and the seventh using the SAS to off, you know, the one of the five for the seven. This is the highest gonna sound so great. You greatly to be praised. That right? Exactly. So this is why as important to master these chords, the 307, just use a regular SAS to one of my students asked, Is it easier if I see it like a cis two of two nodes behind in the skill, like perfect, if that's what works for you. If you have, you want to play a third, you're going to play a SaaS. Two of you go twice behind. So okay, really are planar cis two of the one chord, so like that. And then seven SAS to off the five chord because you go back to my right. I mean, just know that 13 I usually related muscle that I, you can interchange the chords between 13 muscles. I again interchange even in a chord progression, if you are going to a five, you can use a seven. And it works awesome Lee and perfectly, okay. So for example, in this same great IE Lord chord progression, going from a one to a fine, right? I could have easily replace the five with a seven, and it works perfectly. So this is why it works nicely. Sake, I could have gone to grade you really, to be praised. So perfect. Now, if, if one other song that you can use to practice and get your hands really on. This is above all, the chorus crucified and they are put up progression up on the screen. You see that's a very simple chord progression, but it's used in almost every notes within the scale. So you go from one to seven wind and comes back to satisfy for looked, just see the progression on the screen and I'll try to play it. So in the key of C sharp, right? So, you know, my, my lyrics might not know that nourished, ejected. Okay, so if you are able to play this crucified chord progression in all the 12 keys, you're pretty much on your way. So in the key of D, okay? That's key, right? And B. Okay? So I urge you to try and play this. Most of the causes may nonetheless data and our courts that I've not really thoughts on this channel. But if you know them already, you can try to pick them up with me. But the main idea is that you know that one 4-5, You can play a major. Major are to SAS, to a 2326 econ, play just a minor chord. And one thing I did to embellish accord a bit was sort of playing a simple minor chords. For example, like two of the key of C, which is D Minor. If you wanted to sound a little better, you can move this. This one here says it's already played here. You can move it to the C, okay, and it creates a minor seven chord. And it's a very nice voice and an easy one. Okay? Just try to play this in all 12 keys. I keep saying, Make sure you play every single key and make sure that your hands are very used to the boyd. Take it one key at a time. Perfect. There's a very good example of a chord progression of crucified uses chord progression. Take it step-by-step, and if within a couple of weeks you complete and 12 keys, you are set to play about 95% of the songs out there, especially in gospel. Thank you for joining today's tutorial, and I hope I'll see you in the next video. 24. Lesson 23 - Adding Fills between Chords: Today's tutorial, I'm going to be taking you through two main concepts, which you can add to your cords to make them sound amazing. Now stick with me on this tutorial and let's get right into it. The first concepts that are likely introduce Yes, called the grace notes. Okay, I've used this in a couple of my videos already. But if you're known for plain chord progressions, especially in gospel, if you're known for playing chord progressions by holding the major chord just like that. You might want to consider plane, a grace notes. Okay, so for example, if want to play a C major chord, you can consider plane flipping or until the third. Just like that. The way you do this is to play the SAS to replace the third or the second case. She played fast gonna start like that's in the middle, right? So so you can, you can try to practice this for all your major courts. So do you take it up? You can go. And if you know this. And also possibly a normal chord progression like one 5-6 for you go to the five to six. And therefore you can flip again. So by just adding the grace notes, yes, already sounded amazing. Let's try it in another key. Key a to the six, to the four. Okay, so the graciousness is quite powerful and will make you take you from sounding boring or too normal or regular to southern much better by just flipping consider third, it's accentuates the third and makes it sound much nicer. Okay? The next one you can do is also, you can try to play. You can try and play it. Let's apart and I call the 1.2.5 pattern. Ok? So you played a one-to-five pattern of the preceding chord, okay? One to five. What do I mean? Let's go to the key of C Sharp, for example. Okay? Now, you move it from the one chord to the five chord, to the sixth, to the fourth, right? Now, while moving from the one chord you can play. You got that 123. Now, where you place this court is quite important. You need to place Dischord, a critical point, so you need to count the 123 data. Okay, so if you play it after the for, so 123 tactile, it's asked much better when you play tough that are for like 12341234 data, data, data, okay? 1234 banana on to the next chord, okay, if you get, you get used to it says 12342323. Okay. It's quite fast. They can just go 123. Slow you down right? Now. This is just a simple Sync, simple path pattern. I'm showing a one-to-five. You can create your own patterns you can use. So that's one-to-five. Let's try maybe 15 pattern. So that means I'm just going to play 15 of the preceding chord. Okay? Let's try another key, key of D, Okay? So if asked, I played the accord, i'm just going to play the 15 and then I move to the next chord. Okay, so sticking with the 1564 progression k, So, so on five. Now, because it's a tutorial, I am using the same pattern throughout. But what if I mix it up? So the first I want to find the next time you played 1-5. Next I, you just hit the five from the preceding quad and move to the next, right? These are things you can experiment with, right? So for example, if we do that in a key and another key, if we do that in E, So one, So I guess kinda five this time around. And then does the five, I just hit the five. And then I do the one to five. And then perfect theories. How did awesome by just using these simple, simple techniques. Okay, thank you for joining me in today's tutorial. I hope you learned something and I'll see you in the next one. 25. Lesson 24 - Targeting the 3rd - Part 1: Targets in the third. And that's a very, very interesting sound you're going to get without one. Now. See the third of every notes as two steps ahead in the scale, okay? So if you are in the key of C, And that's the scale, 12345671. If you wanted a third of one, is going to be two steps forward. So it's going to be just note, if you want a third of two, is going to be that moment, okay? Normally the major third of It's going to be this, right? But within the key of C, The third is going to be a minor third says that D is a minor chord. Okay, so forget about all that theory, but just know that if I asked you for the third of the four, you just count from four, you go to 56. So six is the third of four. Was the third of six. Just go. Okay. 6711 is the third of six. Okay, so this is the concept you're going to use. Now. I might have to do a separate tutorial talking about, you know, targets in the third and you can do so much with it, but I'm just going to introduce you to it. So for example, you're playing the same chord progression, 1564. Okay? You can just play a melody that would, you know, targets the fared. So you can go here, that's just the ones on the diagonal. Okay? I just target in this case, I think I said a third of the five, which is the sole, just a GA, and the Fed is, or the seven, right? Then Assad's much less even on a minor chords. The third of the six is a one writes, I just going to forget this one here. So it's going to be a complete inversion. Okay, so then I can play the Target edit. So you don't necessarily have to always go up to target authentic and come backwards. Target, right? So in this case on the for i use the OK. This is just an introduction to this concept that try and explore with it. And by playing around with this, you're going to sound amazing. Just try and use the Patton's grace notes. Target a third play. Just a single simple three notes melody, which is going to land you on the third from wherever you can. Stuff I'm above and come to the third below or staff or below goes to the third above. And by plane like this, I guarantee you, you're going to start sounded a bit different for me that before and is going to be with simple concepts. Once again, try and do this in every single key. Thank you for joining me in today's tutorial. I hope you learned something and I'll see you in the next one. 26. Lesson 25 - Targeting the 3rd - Part 2: Hi, my name is Kingsley from piano with cancelling.com, where we help you excel with 0s on the piano. And this tutorial, I'm going to show you a simple trick which I call targeting the third, which is a very simple way of adding very nice fields to your course. So let's get right into the tutorial. Now, for, for this concept, you'd have to know how to easily locate the third of every cardio plane. And I have said in a previous tutorial, you need to know is that the third is two steps forward, okay, so if you are on the one chord, the third is obviously the three. Ok? And if you are on the two coordinates, that is going to be two steps forward, which is the force. So you always have to add two to the accordion. Fiona three chord. The third is going to be the five and thus the notes, right? If you are the five chord, the Fed is going to be seven in that order. Ok? So for this, we can try to put together our courts by just targets in a third of the next chord. What do I mean by this? So let's say you have a simple progression, 127 k, That's also record the semester in the file. And then a six K to afford. Okay. So want to join this with targets and third, so I need to come up with a melody that goes, that ends, that targets the third of each chord. Okay? So you can either go, is just like a staircase, okay? If your, this is your target step, you can either go from bottom up 123, or down 123. Okay? So in this case, in the key of C, if you want, you would want to do that. You can simply go. So you can go. You can flip onto the court as well. And then you all if you want to go up down, you can go. And I'm sure you've heard this before with one finger, does target and the third, so I did from the top or from bottom. Okay, fund to do that, let's just use a simple progression, one 5-6 for k. If I want to go to the five, I could also do it from bottom to top. Okay. You complete the whole court, but just make sure you flip on that to emphasize that melody. And then to the six. We've had so many time. So usually on a four, I prefer to do the top. For some reason, this sounds much nicer to me. So personal preference I prefer to do is I guess the Fed from coming from the toilet. So which is very common. So this is all with this concept. Okay? Okay. So by just using the simple concept, you've been able to add extra melodic lines to your chords. Okay? Less, less try this with. So for example, on the board, you can do that. So this also applies to a seventh chord. Was a third of a seven. So if you add two to the seven is going to be those 89 because it has no 99 is pretty much going to be two. Right. So there's going to be from somebody who go to the one and then the two. Okay? So I just need a melody that we'll end on that, a melody now and on this one. So all I have to do is play that. You could either do go upwards or down. So if I wanted to play a correlation like 176, I go 1234 and go to the right. I use the up, down. And I used up doubt for the six aswell. Ok, so this, this is a very useful too, which if you don't know sophisticated lines or in accord movements, by just knowing this simple concept of targets. In the third, you're better off. You can play very sweet melodies and gets away with it. Now, one exercise that I want you to try is to just come player progression, which goes like 176176543225 and maximum one, okay? There's four nodes like this, and you're going to be targeted a third at each point in time. Ok? So you can try without the chords, you can try this with a melody like that. Okay, and if you want to, Now, let's do add some extra c. Now I'm not just targeting the third, we just won bottom-up or I can create a nice melody, but as long as my target knows, note falls on the three. I'm okay and I'm good to go. And I can just play Normal. And seven I can't play. Right. And a six I can't play. Okay. To me nots ego. Or three set three hundred, six hundred fire. When it comes to singing melodies, you're better off with sulfurs. Okay, so the 92, okay, so see what I did. So lambda, okay, so, right. So you see that the options are endless. This is how powerful this concept is, target and a third, so if you are not able to play any kind of fill at all, tried to play and targeted in every single key. So you're going to try and play this chord progression, all the keys, right? You're going to go to staff from C, of course. Then you go to an ascii. And that's given. Right? Okay. Just try to practice this in every single key gecko lessons with joining carts together with and targets in the third. And I assure you you'll be able to, you know, sound much, much better than you already do on the keyboard. Thank you so much for joining me today and I'm glad you did, and I'll see you in the next tutorial.
