1. The Capsule Wardrobe Formula Trailer : 1/10 of a second. That's how long it takes a complete stranger to presume your authority, your trustworthiness and your likability, based largely on the way that you look. The truth is how you look and how you dress matters, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it can be an incredibly valuable opportunity for those who choose to use it wisely. Hi, I'm Jenny Jackson, former Miss Jamaica and founder of Hello bombshell dot com. Dressing well, never came naturally. For me, style was something I had to study and learn. Once I actually started putting effort into the way that I presented myself to the world, I really started to bloom as a young woman. In this course, I hope to inspire you to do the same and teach you how to do it. Just imagine looking, stylish, chic and put together every single day. In this course, we're going to curate a perfectly stylish aesthetic, overhaul your overflowing closet full of clothes, and we're going to curate the perfect closet composition to suit your lifestyle in your needs. This course is for you. If you struggle to put outfits together or to create a wardrobe that makes you feel chic and unshakably confident. Be inspired to transform your parents, level up your look and create a chic and stylish, interchangeable capsule wardrobe with me in this course. Hello, Bombshell. See you inside. 2. Module 1 Lesson 1 You are What You Wear: Welcome to Module one. Lesson one, you are what you wear. The objective of this lesson is to identify why sharpening your skill of being a well dressed woman and building a well curated wardrobe is essential to living your very best life. Let's jump in, shall we? So why should you even care about style or curating a beautiful wardrobe in the first place ? It's just close, right? It's just linen or cotton or any other material we used to clothe and protects our bodies. Why should it matter that much? What they actually look like now? Indeed, at its core, clothing is a very basic human need. But in a civilized society, clothing represents so much more. If you decide one day that you went to run your errands without any clothes whatsoever, I can guarantee you will be promptly arrested. The fact is, clothing is weaved into the fabric of our society. It's how we recognize who was in tribe or who's out tribe. It's how we identify a doctor from a policeman from a business woman from a student. Additionally, clothing helps a signal authority status and subconsciously, even our fertility. Furthermore, clothing is a non negotiable. This essentially makes clothing an extension of you, and like a second skin, you are intrinsically tethered very much to the clothes that you wear. Whether you like it or not, people ourselves included consciously and subconsciously tie the connotations of our clothing to us by way of them being even temporarily a part of us thus how you dress matters and this isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, embracing it can be an incredibly valuable opportunity for those who choose to use it wisely. Style is one of those things that help us facilitate our interactions with the world. It's our first unspoken message to the world. So what if we embraced style and dressing well as an asset? In addition to your intellect, your personality and your charm style to has tremendously valuable value style to has tremendous value, and thus it seems only logical to use it. So here are three reasons why dressing well is essential to living your very best life. Number one dressing well promotes self confidence, self respect and overall personal development. Studies prove that you can instantly improve your self perception and performance simply by changing your clothes. Close. Have a real power to make us feel from be lazy, less than smart and equally so sexy, powerful, glamorous, feminine or dare I say Beautiful number two. Dressing well gets you treated better. 1/10 of a second is how long it takes a complete stranger to determine your authority, your trustworthiness or likeability based in large part on how you're dressed. But why does it matter what other people think of you anyway? Well, on a subconscious level, we treat people based on our perceptions of them. So if you want to be respected, admired or treated well, it's in your best interests to look your best. And number three. This is my personal favorite. Dressing well makes the world a more beautiful place. That's right. As woman, I believe that we should encourage the elevating power of beauty in all its forms in the world. Think of style as your personal contribution to the world's aesthetic beauty 3. Module 1 Lesson 2 The Bombshell Philosophy : welcome to Module. One lesson to the bombshell philosophy. The objective of this lesson is to understand the bombshell philosophy and mindset. So what is a bomb show? What does it mean to be a bunch O? A really fun and lighthearted book that I absolutely adore and recommend is the bombshell manual of style. And as the author Lawrence Stover so beautifully put it in her book, a bombshell is a full, a bombshell is full of contradictions. She is a combustible blend of confidence and vulnerability. She wears high heels but kicks them off at every opportunity. She always expects to run into someone who matters, even if she's home alone and she never dresses carelessly. She behaves as if all of life is a movie in which she is the star. I absolutely love this, and when you think of a bombshell, I want you to think about women like Marilyn Monroe. Like Diana Ross. Like Audrey Hepburn, the bombshell philosophy is a mind set off elegance, so to speak. It's a lifestyle and a way of being just fabulous in all aspects of your life. So what does it mean in the context of this program? well in the previous lesson we discussed. How be it allowed statement or quiet whisper. You are always communicating with your style. Ah, Bombshell not only understands this, she embraces this and shamelessly. So in addition to her many other fabulous qualities, she embraces her style and her personal image as an asset and her wardrobe a powerful arsenal. She believes that, like pillars, the harmonious cultivation of all aspects of self, including one's personal style, lift and support one another. Ah, bombshell believes in being the very best in all facets of her life in doing good and feeling good and yes and looking damn good, too, They say, Give a woman the right shoes and she can conquer the world. Ah, Bombshell believes with the right shoes. Ah, woman, maybe even compelled to conquer the world, because what a shame it would be toe waste, A good outfit 4. Module 1 Lesson 3 Getting Personal: Welcome to Module one. Lesson three Getting personal. The objective of this lesson is to uncover an objective bird's eye view of yourself. Additionally, we identify your personal style, intentions and goals. Before you can improve anything, you must be able to see it objectively. You have to be able to look at yourself objectively, and you have to be willing to tear down all the excuses you've told yourself in the past and take responsibility. Furthermore, before you embark on any journey, you must have a clear idea of exactly where you want to go and why. This may seem easy enough, but not so fast. How do you look at yourself? Objectively? Psychologists have proven that humans have a really hard time truly admitting our faults. This is known as cognitive dissonance, a state of having inconsistent thoughts, beliefs or attitudes, especially relating to behavioral decisions and attitude change. This makes us almost incapable of viewing ourselves objectively. If you want to improve your image, however, you have to start with true self analysis. Seeing yourself as you really are, as opposed to through your own rose colored glasses, letting go of the comforting lies and facing head on what may very well be very unpleasant truths. Now here are a few tips to get you started. Number one. Take a step back and criticize yourself. That's right. Start by getting riel. Are you currently projecting the image of how you'd like to be perceived? Are there aspects of your style or your image or your wardrobe that you could or would like to improve? Number two. Embrace the bad. Are you a bit of a sloppy dress? Or sometimes you have to be willing to embrace the very worst. Authentic admissions and embracing the truth is only moving you closer to becoming better. Whatever that looks like for you. Number three. Listen to and seek criticism. External criticism will naturally be less bias than your own now. It doesn't necessarily make external criticism true, but I'm a huge advocate for listening to and learning from criticism. Try not to take you to personal, and it's best if you can see criticism, preferably from someone who you believe has a really great sense of style or someone whom you trust. Number four. Reverse your projections when you see someone with an image that maybe you don't particularly care for. So, for example, you see someone walking down the street and you think they look a bit taki. Or maybe they look like they're trying really hard to impress. Stop and think to yourself. Is it possible? Is there any way that I or you might be projecting the same and number five look up to people rather than down now? It's always easy to make yourself feel good by finding people worse than you looking worse than you. But try instead those same people looking up to them. Try looking up to them water some things that you see in their style, perhaps that you admire. I tried to look for the good in everyone, and I think these tips will really start to help you see yourself more objectively. Now, what does great style mean to you? What does looking your personal best mean to you? The fact is, that great style doesn't mean the same thing for everyone. Looking elegant, chic, beautiful or attractive translates very differently for different people, and that's okay. Style is very personal, and it's very subjective and looking great can only be defined ultimately by one person, and that one person is you. So consider the following questions. What adjectives would you like to describe your personal style? How do you want to feel when you get dressed? How do you want to be perceived in the world in the corresponding worksheet? For this lesson, you'll find some exercises to help you uncover an objective view of yourself, as well as to identify your personal style, intentions and goals. 5. Module 1 Lesson 4 Getting Inspired : Welcome to Module. One lesson for getting inspired. The objective of this lesson is to help inspire your style. As with all masterpieces, every work of art begins with one essential component. Inspiration. In order to be a well dressed woman, you don't need to recreate the wheel. There have been many elegant women to come before you, so why not take from these woman inspiration and ideas to make your own? Consider this quote from Jim Jarmusch, an American film director. Quote. Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select Onley things to steal from that's speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work and theft will be authentic. End quote. Consider the following Who are some celebrities that you absolutely admire? Their sense of style? Who are some real people in your life who style you admire? What are some movies or TV shows or anything like that whose sense of cell you admire? Here are some of my favorite style inspirations to get your wheels kind of turning number one. My absolute favorite is Victoria Beckham. Absolutely modern, very clean, very European sense of style. Victoria Beckham. There's also a vintage style icon like Diana Ross, just absolutely over the top. Feminine and fabulous. Perhaps you prefer the eccentric stylings of Lady Gaga when she's not wearing meat dresses . Of course, her style is absolutely elegant, eclectic and creative, in my opinion. And I absolutely love that. Or the classy, more conservative looks of Megan Marco or Megan the Duchess of Sussex. Absolutely clean, very modern, very lady like and very modest. I absolutely love her style. One of my favorite style bloggers like a real person, not a celebrity. Currently is Mary Horton from ma'am, a random that's the name of her blog's. She's an example, a very feminine, classic, easygoing style that I absolutely adore. In addition to people, you can also draw inspiration from other places as well. For example, artwork or nature or movies or TV shows or blog's or magazines are really great places to draw inspiration from. You want to draw inspiration from anywhere and from whatever speaks to your soul. Take the images that inspire you and collect them into various mood boards. I absolutely love Pinterest for this. As many of you may already know pin dresses like a Web based PIN board but with much greater organizational functionality for creating style inspiration boards. It's absolutely perfect. Here are some tips to get you started with interests Number one. Seek realistic ideas. So as much as you may admire celebrity red carpet looks or a beautiful vintage style of Marilyn Monroe, how likely are you to actually wear these kind of things in real life? I want you to focus on collecting practical inspiration and ideas that you can actually translate and wear in real life. Try to keep the more abstract inspiration on a separate board. I also want you to collect those, but you're going to keep them in a separate board. Go down the rabbit holes when you spot an individual item, for example that you're particularly drawn to don't hesitate to go deeper in your search for more ideas surrounding that specific individual item. For example, if you find yourself really drawn to a line, skirts search for different ways that you can wear and style a line skirts and you might just run across some very similar ideas, but different that also inspire you. Curate and analyze. Once you spend a good amount of time collecting and sorting your inspirations, it's a good idea to further refine your boards in order to get more laser focus clarity they're after. You're gonna carefully analyze and take note of the patterns and trends that you start to see in your selections. What overall style vibes do you find yourself drawn to? Is your style more chic or elegant or casual? Maybe modern. Every woman will have a unique style definition all her own. What would you describe your own unique style definition to be? Which cuts and silhouettes do you find yourself repeatedly pinning or collecting on your stall inspiration board in the corresponding worksheet? For this, listen, you'll find some exercises to help you clarify patterns and likes so that you can use the inspiration that you've collected effectively and efficiently 6. Module 2 Lesson 1 Getting Functional : welcome to module to lesson one. Getting functional. The objective of this lesson is to clarify the functionality and practicality of a wardrobe that suits your individual lifestyle needs. In the previous lesson, you started to get an idea of exactly how you want toe look. The purpose of this lesson is to help you clarify what you actually need to look like. How do you spend most of your days what occasions you need to dress for regularly? Indeed, your clothing should look great, but your clothing should also adequately suit your lifestyle. Your wardrobe should support you, always being appropriately dressed, comfortable and fabulous for every occasion. If you skip this step, it's easy to fall into the trap of building a wardrobe around all the things you'd like to dio. Instead of the things that you actually regularly partake in, it's much more fun to shop for sexy going out dresses. Then it is to shop for the occasions that you actually need your clothes for. We don't want to spend time and effort and money building a wishful wardrobe. We want to build a practical one, so let's jump in, shall we? Here are three steps toe Identifying your wardrobe Lifestyle needs step number one. Define make an outline of an average two weeks. What does an average two weeks look like for you? Write down every activity you engage in and include the number of outfits you need for each activity. Step number two categorise Total your to weak lifestyle activities by summing them up into broader categories. So, for example, consider the following categories so you may have one professional. This is going to include your office work attire. Then you may have another category called daytime. And in this category you may include, for example, Sunday brunch or afternoon lunch dates. Another category. Maybe Sheikh. This may include all the clothes that you need. Four, for example, going out for dinner, or perhaps a special presentation at work and so on and so forth. Step number three is to visualize. Use the information that you've come up with to roughly determine a percentage of total time you spend in each category based on the total sums and create a pie chart. This will help give you a clear visual picture of your wardrobe needs. Finally, we conclude with a bonus step, we do this by further defining functional. In this step, you will further specify what additional functionalities each category requires, so consider the following questions. What is the most important thing to you when considering this particular category? So, for example, if you walk to work each day or you take the subway shoes for your professional category needs to be especially comfortable. Or if you work in an office that's freezing cold, you want to make sure that your outfits are really warm. You want to make note of these special considerations? What are the areas of your wardrobe better over represented overrepresented? We always we all have in our wardrobe on abundance of a certain category of clothing. For example, I have an abundance of workout clothes, even though I don't work out nearly as much as I should. What areas of your wardrobe are under represented in each category? What specific functionalities need to be fulfilled in the corresponding worksheet? For this lesson, you'll find some exercises to help you clarify the functionality and practicality of a wardrobe that suits your individual lifestyle needs 7. Module 2 Lesson 2 Style File: welcome to module to lessen to creating your style file. After completing the previous exercises, you now hopefully have a very clear idea of exactly how you want to look and what your lifestyle wardrobe needs are. The objective of this lesson is to help you create a style file. A style file is essentially a translation of the different elements of your personal style into a single overview. Your stall file is essentially your inspiration boards boiled down to the absolute best, most relevant and most practical. Your SOL file will be largely visual, but will also include words, adjectives and written descriptions. This will help you get laser focused resident overwhelmed. When you go shopping, consider the following questions. What are the colors I'm most drawn to? Which cuts and silhouettes and my most drawn to went overall vibes and my most drawn to? It's important to understand that your style file is by no means set in stone. Your style and your style file will grow and evolve with you over time. It's just to get you started on recognizing your likes, desires and refining your personal style. See the accompanying exercises in the resource is section of the portal 8. Module 2 Lesson 3 Wardrobe Workout: welcome to module to lessen three Wardrobe workout. The objective of this lesson is to help you sort and organize all the clothes that you already own. Now that you haven't idea of what you like and what you need, you can more easily determine which items deserve a spot in your closet and which ones have got to go. I know it's super hard to get rid of seemingly perfectly good clothes, but when you get rid of a garment that doesn't look or feel good, you're making room for one that will before we get started, I advised doing something that may seem a bit strange. Before you get started into sorting and organizing your closet, you're gonna stall your hair and you're gonna stall your makeup and you're gonna put on some good underwear. That's right. In this exercise, you're gonna be trying on many of your clothes and nothing is gonna look good. If you don't look, pull together. Now let's jump in. So we number one you're gonna pull everything out of your closet in your drawers and lay them all out so you can easily see everything as much as you can. You're gonna try to keep everything. Organized pants with pants, dresses with dresses so on and so forth. It's going to look like a disaster zone initially, but by the time we finish with this exercise, you're probably going to be very, very few things that end up going back into the closet. So just relax. Ask yourself the following questions. Is this damaged or worn beyond repair? Have I warned this in the last 12 months? Does this fit properly? If not, can it be tailored? Doesn't make me feel like a bombshell. Does this fit my style? Can I make an outfit with this and I'm excited to wear? Can you imagine your style, muse. So, for example, your Victoria Beckham or your Megan Markle wearing this and number three Now, depending on how you answer those questions that we just went over the items on your better either gonna go into one of the following categories. Donate and sow. To be tailored. Offseason storage. It's gonna go back in your closet. Are you going to do a trial separation? In this exercise, you'll probably find some hidden gems in your wardrobe. Or perhaps you're left with absolutely nothing and That's fine, too. With what's left, you're gonna be able to clearly identify the biggest gaps you need to fill and create a comprehensive shopping list if needed. 9. Module 2 Lesson 4 The Interchangable Wardrobe : welcome to module to lesson for the interchangeable wardrobe. The objective of this lesson is to develop a basic understanding of the interchangeable wardrobe concept. An interchangeable wardrobe is a wardrobe at his well thought out and very intentionally cultivated in order to be easily mixed, matched and worn in a number of various combinations. There's no single structure for an interchangeable wardrobe, but there are some very basic guidelines that you should consider, one of which are versatile fabrics that can easily be mixed and matched with many others. Also complementary colors and prints. Another simple cuts with classic lines that are flexible and won't quickly go out of style . You want to stay away from one trick ponies, as I like to call them. These are, for example, of blouse that you can only pair with one pair of pants to create one outfit. While everything doesn't have to go with everything else, the idea is that you want to get as much bang out of each piece as possible. Additionally, everything should be in the most flattering colors and styles for you, because versatility is absolutely worthless. If all of these combination don't absolutely look amazing on you. Generally, a solid wardrobe is going to contain three core items. These are what I call the wardrobe staples. Basic pieces are the foundations of your wardrobe. Your key pieces are like the pillars of your wardrobe, and your statement pieces, if you so choose, are kind of like the star of the show. They enable you to add a bit of variety and a little something special. Each of these components is what will ultimately make up your outfit. Formulas. An outfit Formulas are a recipe for a specific combination of items that you can wear in different variations. An outfit formula would be, for example, a pair of a blouse, a pair of jeans, a jacket and a pair of versatile boots. Another outfit formula, for example, would be a cotton T shirt with a skirt, a cardigan and a pair of flats. You kind of get an idea. An outfit formula is, um, just a combination of items that you pair together to make an outfit and outfit formulas that you absolutely love toe wear all the time. You can even adopt as your own personal uniform. Some of the biggest style icons of our time have their version of a uniform that they wear all the time. Case in point is Miss Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of Vogue magazine. Her uniform for well over a decade has been mostly unchanged. Ah, beautiful, well structured Taylor dress nipped at the waist with lots of color and bold pattern, plus her signature statement pieces, her Salikh Bob haircut and a pair of oversized shades. So let's dive a little bit deeper into the interchangeable wardrobe concept. Let's take a look at the basic idea in action. Let's say we start, for example, with two bottoms and two tops. Given that all of the pieces are interchangeable with these four items, you can essentially create four completely different outfits. No to the four initial pieces that we had before. If we add just one top, so that makes a total of five individual pieces. Voila! Just like that, you've got six totally unique interchangeable outfits. The idea is that you can, as you add interchangeable pieces, the number of outfits and combinations that you can create compound on each other, giving you more and more options. Now again, let's add two more tops and two more bottoms to our original pieces to the core wardrobe, and that's now a total of five tops and four bottoms. So in total, you've got nine individual items, and I've added some shoes in there just for fun. And they were cute. With those nine items. I'm able to mix and match, piecing together 20 completely different interchangeable outfits, not including the shoes or any outerwear, like a blazer or a jacket or any other accessories, which would further very the combinations. If you were to include the shoes and any outerwear and accessories, that's a different outfit for every single day of the month and then some. Do you see that? With a little bit of forethought and savvy planning, you don't need a closet filled to the brim with close to be able to make lots of different beautiful outfits to figure out exactly how many outfits your wardrobe can render. It's a very simple math equation. Simply multiply the number of tops by the number of bottoms or the number of pieces, and that's how you get the total number of outfits Now, once you have a solid capsule for one of your lifestyle categories or a season. Perhaps you simply can start another. The different types of capsules you consider creating include maybe, ah, fall winter cold weather capsule for the cold weather months, maybe another for the spring summer for the warmer months. And these are more casual capsules. Maybe you create one for professional for work and another for going out in date night. The possibilities are really endless. The beauty of the interchangeable wardrobe concept is that you can, when done correctly, the pieces from any of your capsules can easily interchange with one another. You can build your wardrobe in such a way that all of the pieces interchange into different capsules just by shifting them around. Regardless of the occasion. For example, professional can work its way into your going out capsule. Your summer pieces can also work themselves into your winter capsule. There's no rules. You just have to be smart about how you choose your pieces. In the resource is section of the portal. You'll find a corresponding worksheet for this section. Have fun 10. Module 3 Lesson 1 Putting It Together: Welcome to Module three. Lesson one. Putting it all together. The objective of this lesson is to put everything we've done thus far together and identify and fill the gaps of your wardrobe. It wouldn't be a surprise that by now you've identified some holes in your wardrobe, but worry not, because we're gonna be taking all of what we've learned thus far and putting everything together to transform your wardrobe. In this lesson, you'll be mostly working on your own by completing the corresponding exercises in the workbook. In this lesson, you'll be analyzing the following. What are the biggest gaps in your wardrobe? What are the underrepresented areas on your lifestyle chart? And, uh, what are the missing key statement and basic pieces that you need to complete certain outfit formulas and so on and so forth from your previously completed workbook exercises? Take a look at the following sections Your completed lifestyle pie chart your style. File your favorite outfit formulas in your wardrobe formula Planning cheat sheet Using the ingredients from your favorite outfit formulas as categories. Your lifestyle chart to figure out the obstacle number of pieces you need for each category and yourself, file to figure out what pieces you really like and love complete the following exercise From here, you're going to be able to make a comprehensive shopping list of the items that you need to buy. 11. Module 3 Lesson 2 Color Harmonies: Welcome to Module three lesson to creating harmony with color. The objective of this lesson is to understand color theory and creating harmony within your wardrobe. Using color color is really the magic ingredient in cultivating, ah, harmonious wardrobe, where the right colors and your skin glows in your eyes. Pop where the wrong colors and they can overpower you or do nothing at all for you. So how do you know which colors work best for you? It's really easier than you may think. Just as colors are classified as warm and cool. People to either have warm or cool undertones in our skins and building your wardrobe. It's important to understand what colors suit you best. A very simple way to determine your own undertone is the silver and gold test. Hold a piece of metallic, um, fabric or jewelry near your face, and if silver is more flattering, your undertones are likely. Cool. If gold is more flattering, your undertones are likely warm. Another way to tell is to check the inside of your wrist. Do your veins a pair blue or green. If they look bluish or purplish, you're likely cool toned. If they're green, you're likely warm toned and, if you have trouble telling, you, might lean or skewed towards a more neutral skin tone. If your undertone is warm, other warm colors such as yellows, oranges, reds, pings will be most complimentary for you. And if you're undertone is cool. Other cool colors such as blues, greens and purples as well are going to be more complimentary for you. It's also important to understand color value or the lightness and darkness of colors, as well as color, intensity or the pureness of a particular color. All of these elements need to relate to you. A fair skinned blonde, for example, would easily be overpowered by a very intense and vivid color. You can see here in this picture the black is a way too heavy for her, and it kind of just weighs her down. While a very deeply melon aided woman with a very darker skin tone, a much darker skin tone, would look more in balance with a vibrant color and will look, um, sort of out of place or out of balance with a more icy pastel color. Let's discuss creating a color palette for your wardrobe. How do you choose the colors to coordinate and look well together again. You don't need to recreate the wheeled color. Harmonies are based on the idea that some color simply work better together than others. It's also known as color schemes or complementary harmonies. There are six common color harmonies to get you started that you can start using right now . The first this is perhaps the easiest one to grasp is mono chromatic because it involves Onley. One color, the mono chromatic relationship. Our colors that are in the same color scheme. But they're different shades or the tints very a bit, but they're all of the same. Hugh. The next is complementary this color harmony is the colors are directly across from each other on the color wheel, and it's with two different colors, so you can also do. It's one Hugh plus two others that are equally spaced from each other on the color wheel. The next is double complimentary. This is two complementary color sets. The distance between the selected complementary pairs will affect the overall contrast of the final composition. The next is an inaugural ISS relationship. These colors are located adjacent to each other on the color wheel, and the last is the triad relationship. This contains three hues that are equally positioned on the color wheel. So how do you choose? I would suggest just keeping it simple.
