Welcome to the start of me dot Today Course, these course is not about fancy videos or presentations, but about powerful messages that will change and transform your life. I'll share with you articles, presentations and even documentaries about different and key concepts that you might have not thought about before but that you've heard off but never really fully understood. I'm sure you'll find the information in this course not only valuable and helpful, but really insightful, really productive, really different, really deep. You will learn a lot in these cores, but you will also learn a lot about yourself and a lot about what you can do to change your life, to make it better, to make it what you want it to be. No, I don't want to convey the message that I have all the answers because I don't, but I want to share with you what I have learned. He has been an incredible journey in my life through different countries, continents, jobs and experiences. And I want to share about all of those lessons. Everything I've learned with you because I believe that these will help you transform what you're currently doing. I leave a happier, more fulfilling, a better life.
3. STOP complaining, START doing!: Another key concept I want to learn is stop complaining and start doing. Let me repeat that. Stop complaining and start doing so. Yet don't focus so much on what you don't have on what's wrong with your life off the challenges that you're facing on everything that's going wrong on just start doing. I'm sure there's a lot of things you could complain about on. You could end up falling into the trap off, spending a lot of your valuable time winding about things that take you nowhere. And that's precisely one of the thing that's holding you back into taking action and changing your life. Don't spend so much time winding and complaining about the things that are happening. I start thinking what you can do to change them. But even beyond thinking about what you can do to change them, start taking action star doing things, and they don't need to be, you know, like rocket science things they don't need to be complex. Huge things just started with small things like, for instance, if you're not really enjoying your job instead of complaining about it, start looking for a new one. Start sending Stevie's start applying to jobs. Go to websites into applications to explore new job opportunities and get yourself out there. Get yourself in the market instead of investing hours and hours of your time talking to your friends, colleagues, your family, your partner about why you don't like your job on why you're not really enjoying it. How about you invest all of those hours looking for a new one? Cross me. If you do that, you'll actually end up with a different result. It's just way, way, way more valuable. When you start taking action, that translates into something. Do you mean you when you're just talking about it when you're just win Jing on focusing on the negatives and everything that's not working as you think it shoot instead of you making and doing something so that things work out, how you expect them to or how you want them to. And seriously, it's just amazing how much time people spend complaining. I seem they do it every day, a lot of times for a lot of time on. They don't even realize it. They don't have any consciousness about it. So I wanted to develop conscious about this because the bless you do it, the better off you will be
4. STOP thinking, START doing!: So one of the first concepts I want to talk about is what I call stop thinking and start doing. That sounds really simple, but it's something that we struggle with all the time and I mean literally all the time. We all struggle with this. We all think about things, but we don't actually do them. We all talk about doing things, dream about things. But then there's no action, and without any action that nothing is gonna happen, Nothing's gonna ever change. So you've got to stop thinking about those dreams and start taking action to make them happen. To make them a reality, and you don't need to do major changes on you don't need to start with everything from the beginning. But even if you start doing little things, then that's a first step and that's a step in the right direction. I'll give you a perfect example from my personal experience. Many years ago I had the startup idea and I have been thinking about it for a while for a couple of years and I thought it was a great idea, but I have never done anything about it. It was just a dream idea. And I, you know, I have thought about the different scenarios, the different things I could do with that idea, how I could start selling the product, that types of customers. I would have the different types of services I could offer, how I could partner with other people, how I could better use and utilize technology around it. It was like I had everything in place, but it was just a dream, you know, It was just in my mind I hadn't really started to do anything, and I haven't talked to anyone about it or acted on those thoughts. And one day I was in the MBA class. I don't was hearing about these incredible project, and it just hit me. You know, it just hit me that I could be talking about my project. I could who could have been talking about my start up, but I just hadn't done anything. So that day I made a commitment to myself to stop thinking and start doing something about it. So the next day I started to draw the logo off that idea. I started to draw on brainstorm about names about what? What I could do to make that started become a reality. And then I, you know, bought out the main. I went to the, you know, to the Chamber of Commerce and registered the legal name to protect the trademark and stuff like that. So I started to actually take action on follow like a sequence off steps that lead that thought to start taking shape to start becoming a reality and not just an idea, but in actual fact, an actual result. And it's incredible when that happens. It's incredible when you get hit by that, because because you start seeing the differences. Even in the smallest things, you start feeling more energized about it. You start talking more about it unused or feeling that things are moving from one direction to the next. That is not just there, you know, like this thing in the air where nothing is really moving along and it's just taking their and taking their. But you actually see something, and when it becomes tangible, you feel so proud about it because you've worked so hard and it doesn't mean that it's gonna be successful. But it's a start, right, and that's part of what holds us up in those ideas part if it is the fear. You know, the fear, failure, the fear off, not being able to accomplish it, finish it, do it. The fear of not having the right resource is that the fear of not having enough money, the fear of not knowing enough about the market, the customers. There's so many fears in our mind that stop us from moving forward. So how can you defeat that? How can you face those fears and how can you overcome them? Well, it's not really rocket science, to be honest, but it's actually quite hard to do it. It's there's no really there's no real secret formula about it. It's just facing them. It's just actually taking action is just not staying there in the idea in the dream, but actually doing something and something I thought about which has helped me in these processes, thinking about what's the worst that can happen, You know, ask yourself that question. If I actually beat something about this idea, what's the worst that could happen? And you'll soon realize that the worst is not the end of the world, that if you fail, you can get back up again and you can try something different. And then you might even learn a lot from the experience of failing. And on the other hand, which is even more exciting, you might not fail at all on you might be really successful, and you might have, you know, tons of customers and, you know, people buying your product or your service if we're talking about a startup, or you might just feel you've enjoyed doing something you've always dreamed about doing. If it's just view achieving something that you had in your mind, like traveling or learning a new language, how many times have you thought about learning in your language or going somewhere? But you actually never started to save up for that trip? Or you have actually never downloaded an app to learn the language or registered yourself in a course to learn a new language? And that's exactly what I'm talking about in this key and basic concept about stop thinking and start doing so. You've always dreamed about learning. French will stop talking about it. Stop having that idea just in your mind and just go on, register yourself in a course. So maybe some of you say, but I don't have the money right now. I don't have the time right now. Well, if you don't have the money right now, download a free up. Go to you know the ghoul store or the APP store and download dual lingo and start learning for free French or any other language for that matter. And if you feel you don't have the time, make the time. It doesn't need to be hours or days or weeks or months. You can start with something really simple. Just start five minutes a day, 10 minutes a day. But if you're just doing that, even if it's not every single day but two or three days a week, then you've actually started doing something. And that's the key. That's the first step, and that's a step in the right direction. You'll start to notice that things around you change that you yourself change your still feeling more excited about it. You're still feeling more energetic about it. You're still feeling and seeing the results about it, and without even knowing it. You've already made an important decision in that journey. Another thing I'd recommend is if you have these idea. Whatever it is, it doesn't matter if it's traveling. If it's doing something. If it's giving a gift, if it's learning something, if it's starting up a new business, whatever that idea is, take a piece of paper on right on the left hand side. What's holding you back? Right? Just a very basic least off the things that are holding you back from starting and then on the right hand side, right next to that, right? What you can do to mitigate those things, avoid them or just plain delete them. What can you do? So they are no longer a roadblock so you can actually start and then keep it simple, you know, don't overthink it. You don't even have to plan a lot. Like I said, Just stop thinking and start doing as soon as you start doing things will sort of happen. Your life will start it. Change your start seeing results. Yes, you might fail. Yes, you might fall a few times, but you can get back up. You know, when you can learn from those experiences on best awful and this is really important, you might actually achieve what you're going for you might actually be successful and you might actually learn the new language. Or you might actually, you know, go to France if you are planning on going to France and you've never been there. But it starts with that that basic and simple concept off just not staying in the status quo in the comfort zone and getting off that comfort zone on doing something that you hadn't done before or even better, like a said. You just you just haven't done anything at all. And you just are now realizing that. So whatever is that you've left in the back burner for a few days, a few hours, a few weeks or even a few years like it was in my case for a long time. Just stop thinking about it and start doing something. Don't overthink it. Keep it simple. Face your fears, remove yourself from what could go wrong and think about the possibilities over could actually happen if he achieved it on. If you didn't what you can learn from it and you'll see and you'll feel the change. Trust me on this. I've bean through this and I want to share with you right now that it's okay that you have those fears. He's okay that you feel that nothing's happened because you haven't done anything. But once you've realised that all it takes are small, simple steps, small, simple actions than those simple and small actions become bigger actions and they connect together. And then you start generating results on you start seeing things, so don't waste any more time and start doing right now something about what you want to do .
5. Minimalism: minimalism is the concept off simple living. There are many definitions about minimalism out there, but to me it's about simple living. We're using your possessions to what you really need and that's value to your life. Minimalism is more than a concept. It's a culture, a way of living off living with less. And it has proven to translate into more in herpes on other health benefits. Now, this doesn't need to be a white on black approach or about extremes. You can apply as much of these as you think, applies to you or enhances your life. But I'll give you a perfect example. One day I looked at my closet on, I saw I had eight jackets out of the eight. I really need it on Lee one, but would actually use to. So the other Sikhs were just sitting there. You know, I hadn't warned them in years, which means I could live without them, and they weren't adding any value to my life. So I donated them to someone who actually needed them, and it brought this sense of freedom off having more space off, enjoying even mawr. What I actually used the other two jackets. And that's just the basic analogy about minimalism, because minimalism could be applied to many different areas off your life. But I just wanted to start off with a basic example that you can relate to. The point is, we live in a consumer or we into the world we are encouraged to consume, to be in many ways materialistic, to think we need things when we really don't. Unfortunately, a lot of times that translates in US investing. Valuable resource is in objects or assets that instead of bringing us joy, bring a stress, financial pressure, emptiness and some things even Costas valuable relationships. The concept is really deep yet simple, and I want to encourage you to reflect on these and start applying what you want in your life. It will lead you to a different path, a better one, a more meaningful one. You can find a lot of information about how minimalism is being applied across different areas, industries on aspects of life, But you can find a lot more information out there. There's a lot off information really good information out there about minimalism. If you go to becoming a minimalist dot com, these other sites, you can find some basic concepts more information, a couple of examples, a couple of articles and just how people are applying it across different areas of their life. And I guess, last but not least, I like to talk about the Minimalists, these two guys here, Joshua and Ryan. These two guys are part off a movement you know their part off really, really interesting. Set off ideas about minimalism that are now being shared with the world via, you know, documentaries, books, podcast. They do a lot of things, you know. They're the appear on TV, and they're just two regular guys, you know, like you and I, who started to change her life with minimalism and now are sharing the story with the world . And it's going viral, you know, they have, like, thousands, millions of people looking at what they're doing, and it's really, really interesting. It's a really, really interesting case about minimalism because they were, you know, they had a very different life before they started playing minimalism and they weren't really happy on. They struggled with a lot of things that people like you and I normally struggle with. And when they applied minimalism, their life started to change a little. Things started to become different to the way that where and they've done a documentary which you can. You can find information about this documentary on YouTube. Just go to YouTube and enter the Minimalists documentary on You'll get to this page search for the official trailer because there might be a couple of other ones there in you to us. Always. You find lots of thinking you, too, but search for the official trailer and this will give you a little bit off a sense of that documentary that I was saying, You confining Netflix. It's really good. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. And, well, I'll give you a little taste, right? Right now. Let's watch a little bit together way. Spend so much time on the hunt, but nothing ever quite does it for us, and we get so wrapped up in the hunt that it kind of makes us miserable. Black Friday shopping Many still playing out tonight. It malls across America, saving big bucks on those cases. It did turn violent wave as a culture have lost our minds. There's no question that what it means to have achieved the American dream has increased tremendously in material terms. This is not something that just happened yesterday. This is something that has been sold to us over the past 100 years by those that want to make. Now, that's what I call a good looking car. You have this thing that you were obsessed about. But then the new version comes out, and now you no longer care about the one you have. In fact, the one you have is a source of dissatisfaction. People are beginning to recognize that they have maybe been tricked. There is no out until you become aware you're not going to get happier by consuming more. Ready. I was born ready. There's nothing wrong with consumption. Problem is compulsory consumption we're tired of. We're tired of acquiring things because that's what we're supposed to dio. And that's it. Mindfulness: mindfulness is about bring your attention to the present moment and actually being there on all of what that entails, being fully aware of what is going on, what you're doing, what you're experiencing feeling and so on. I'm not letting your mind go to other places, and this sounds really simple, I know. But in reality it's actually quite difficult because of the way we live in, in which we're doing a 1,000,000 things all the time. Our mind will tend to wander on its own, and it will easily get distracted. For example, how concentrated are you right now? Are you completely focused on this lecture or are you doing something else at the same time ? It's just incredible how easily our mind gets distracted and we don't even notice it. Let me give you an example from our day to day life. Have you noticed that sometimes while you're taking a shower, you're thinking about what you're going to do, or about what you haven't done, or about what you need to say? That's your mind not being mindful. You're not really fully there on you're not truly enjoying the experience of showering if you train yourself to be more mindful. Instead of just taking the shower on thinking off a 1,000,000 things, you will take a shower and you will have your mind in the shower with you, and these will bring you more peace. You will be thinking about the warm water, the nice smell if your shampoo how it feels when the wall there touches your body and so on . You were there in the present. Not the future, not the past. I don't give you another basic example. Ah, lot of times when we eat, the same happens instead of us enjoying what we have in our mouth and thinking about the present experience, our mind divert store, moral phone or TV. We started watching something, reading something while eating in autopilot, and that's not healthy. That's not good. So we need to train ourselves to be more mindful. Not for others, but for us, for ourselves. So we feel better about what we're doing, and so we actually enjoy it. Another important thing about mindfulness is kindness, and not just to others, but to ourselves. It's also about gratitude and connecting with those feelings and positive emotions. Like I said, all of these will lead to a healthier and better life. But don't take my word for it. Read about it. Listen to a podcast, watch a couple of videos on YouTube and so on. You will understand better why this is so important on why those will boost your growth. It's so important, and I know you will benefit so much from this that I included an entire lecture about mindfulness in this course. We're going through it right now. I recommend it's listening to Rachel Cable. Rachel is probably one of the best podcasters out there about mindfulness, if not the best. I really love listening to her, not just because of the tone of her boys and just how good her pot gets our, but also because over honesty she's really, really honest. And she talks about her day to day life, how she applies mindfulness and how you can apply it as well. So go to Rachel cable dot com slash podcast and you'll be able to find all of her podcast right there. You can just click there on your Burt director, telling where you can listen to them. And finally, if you go to YouTube and you search for mindfulness, you'll find a lot of videos. One of them is this one that I'm showing here right now, and I'm not going to go through all of it. But I wanted to show you a little bit. Let's watch a little bit off it together and you'll see why you'll find mindfulness so useful awful. Before we get into that, though, let's talk about why mindfulness is important. Why do you want to care about Mindfulness is basically because it's gonna make you happy. It's going to you calm and peaceful, and it's gonna get you high performance in your career or whatever else that you're out there doing in your life. That is why I love mindfulness, and they can lead to some really profound realizations down the road and keep really practicing in doing it. But really, it's about start stopping suffering. It's about how do you stop suffering? I think all of us have this question. All of us are looking for something more in our lives where we're, you know, we're doing. We're doing this we're doing that were doing relationship for doing our work, and then we're wondering, Well, they're like, what? How can I? How can I get rid of some of this pain that I'm having really what you're having, their having suffering your suffering in some way in different parts of your life. You're always looking for ways to eliminate that suffering. And so mindfulness is very powerful for that. So there you go is just a little bit about why mindfulness and why it's so important and how it can help you. All right, I'll leave you with that. Take care.
