1. Hello: Hello guys, welcome to our course. Okay, I'm so excited because today we will take a very special photo shoot. Okay. What is that? We'll do the dark mood food photography. So I'll give you many tips about how to create a perfect shoot for dark mood food photography. And along this course you will learn like what the tools you need to create a dark mood food photography, you know that. So to create a perfect dark mood food photography exactly.... You don't need like very expensive camera. You don't need like very expensive crops. Because, I will tell you what props... We'll work with the dark mood food photography and what props don't match at all for dark mood food photography. And then I will tell you exactly what I do for the placement of the lighting. So actually it's very simple to create dark mood food photography because mostly you only need one lighting and very simple. And then I will also explain to you about the props that is very affordable and some props. I will also explain to you how to create it. So you dont't have to try to buy from anywhere. Yeah. You can also do it yourself within your home or within your studio. Okay. Let's move to the next section.
2. Lighting Introduction: Okay guys, In this section I will explain to you about the lighting, okay. Actually, for the dark mood food photography, the lighting is pretty simple. You only need one lighting actually. So this is very simple and then you don't have to be scared when you find a lighting like this, because actually this one is continuous lighting and it works very simple, just like your desk lamp. Okay. Because if I open this one, yeah. Now you can see that it is just ordinary light bulb. Okay. The only thing you have to consider is make sure your light bulb is the white color, not warm white, but white color. Okay. And then usually I use our light is around 40 watt. So you can see that I put for light bulb here. Actually, it doesn't have to like all of them. 40 watt. But I mix them with another power, like for this one is only 20, 20, 20 ,and the biggest one is the 40 watt. Actually, you don't have to worry like what kind of power that you use. Actually, I just feel it until it's full because to prevent when I photoshoot and then one bulb die and then I have another spare one, so I put all of them. And then if you see from here, like this is also pretty simple. You only have two power button here to turn on all the light. And then to find this one. Actually, I only search it online from marketplace wherever you are. Maybe you can find it in Amazon, you can find it in eBay or another marketplace in your country. So I just typed like continuous lighting so I can find this one usually. Okay. And then the second one is this is to make sure that you have the source of lighting. I have another tips for you to be able to create the very perfect dark mood food photography, please... You have to make sure that your ambiance lighting is under your control. I mean, if you shooting dark mood food photography, you have to make sure that no other light source, the only light source is only this lighting. So you have to make sure that lighting from the windows you have to shut it down. Please makes sure that no lighting from windows, no lighting for your lamp in your room. Yeah. Please turn off it all and then cover your window with maybe like black cloth, so it will be completely dark and then you only rely on this lighting. Okay So in the dark mood food photography, we only use one source of lighting so we can see the direction of the light. We can see that the highlight and the shadow very clearly. Okay, and then the second one is to block the lighting. So you can see that the source of lighting is pretty big compared to the food you want to take. Usually the size and then the source of lighting. is very big. So usually I use some kind of tools to block the lighting so I can control how big the lighting. So like this one I used. This is actually just ordinary like clipboard. Okay. Please use the black one. Yeah, I use clipboard with the coffers so I can stand it very easy. So I don't need to create any, so I don't have to create any tools to block. I just buy the one like black clipboard with cover. Okay. I don't know In your country maybe there's certain of brand that you can use. So I think minimum you have to prepare like two or four. I think it's better if you prepare four of them so you can block many side of your frame. Okay. That is my tips for the lighting and blocking the lighting.
3. Project 1 : Choose Your Props!: Hello guys. In this section, we will start to take very exciting composition here. Okay? Now, before we take the shoot, I will explain a bit about our plan. Okay? For me, for a successful photo session, I always start to imagine what kind of scene I want to create, okay? Because when we start with end in mind, will be more efficient. Okay? For the scene, I will create this one as the hero. This is the main product we will take. All of the scene, will be darker. And then you can see that this product or this bread is the most bright item in our frame. Okay? And then for this one, I use one tips Rule of Odds. What is the Rule of Odds, is when I come to cut something like this bread, I cut it. For example, for this bread. When I want to cut this bread, I will choose to make this odd rather than even. Okay, so I rather to cut into three parts instead of four parts because odds is sexier, Okay, so I cut it into three parts. And then another technique is Implied Movement. What is implied movement? Have you seen an image that there's no people here in the image, there's no movement in your image, but it looks like that it tells something to you. That is implied movement. So we will create a scene that we've put the knife here so people can imagine that there's an activity in this scene. So the activity is people cutting our bread here. Okay, so I put the knife here so people can imagine that there's an activity in this image, okay? And then I'll introduce to you one by one, for props we use in this frame, okay? Actually this is very simple guys, because if you choose the right props, then even you don't have very powerful composition technique. But if you choose the right props, you already done maybe about 50 percent of the success rate of the photo session, because the right props will help you to do for the photoshoot much easier. Okay? The first one, I choose the slightly smaller props compared to our main objects. So I also choose the darker one. So it add the texture in our frame. But doesn't add more color. Because if you add the bright item in this frame, so it will be very visible. So be careful, okay? And then I also use like this one. This is, it has different color, but it's still slightly similar to the background, light gray. This is like, this is not stainless. I think this is aluminum. And then I also use this one. If you see this one, actually this is not very rustic because actually this is new. But I give you a tips how to create this one. Actually this is new and then I use wood pain actually I combined the white and black so it becomes the dark gray. And I paint to this wood, and then before it dried, I wipe with a cloth so it will be gray but doesn't make the texture and color of the wood gone. So you can see that it is gray, but the texture and color still, we can recognize that it is wood. Okay. And then I also scratch this wood in certain direction. So it looks like a little bit old. Okay, I also do the same strategy with this one. Actually two of this is very new. And then with the same technique, I create it like more alder. Okay. And then the next one, I also choose this one for the props because this is smaller than our main object and then it also dark. Okay, the next one, also the Rule of Odds when I want to add something, I make sure it's 3 not 4. Okay. And then I also use another bread as the additional of the scene here. But I mindfully choose the bread there is black or dark, so it will add more seen in our frame, but that doesn't decrease the focus of our image. Okay? And then I also chose this one, actually for the wooden cutting board here. Actually this is also knew, okay, I also use the same technique for this one to our cutting board. It looks slightly similar, dark gray background here, okay, and then to add more texture, I also use this kind of clothes here. And then I also use like cookies. Okay, I mindfully choose the darker one because one, once again, add the texture, but don't decrease the focus to our main subject. Okay? And then last one, I know this is bright and gold, maybe it will distract our focus to the main image. But I think this kind is nice because it is small. And then I use this one mostly to point to our main subject. So it will give us sense of direction to the center of our frame. Okay, so, but Let's see when the photo shoot, if we think that it will decrease the focus of our image, then just take out. Okay, so let's do the composition part!
4. Project 1 : Compose Your Shots!: Okay guys, one more tips before we do composition part, okay, and then for this one, my strategy is I want you to put the objects so it will make our eye move. Yeah, I will put the object here then surrounding our main object. And then I put something to point directly to our main object here. And then in the empty area I also put something that point into our main object here. So it will be very strong. Okay, guys, We've already done, Composing this frame, I will tell you a little bit about the plan we said before that before we want to create the movement here, the flow here, and then something directly to the center okay, and then I mindfully put... this cutting board that have a tail here, the cutting board's tail here yeah and then moving here. So it gives sense of like directing our eyes to here. And then in this position, I put the cookies here and then I also mix the texture with the cookies that I break like this into three parts. Remember, Rule of Odds, yeah, I put the biscuit I make the biscuit into three parts, and I also put the crumble in this area to make the variation of the form of our, our cookies. Okay? And then if you see that from here, you can see the sense of direction it will direct your eye through here. And then from here, I mindfully put the bread, bread here in this position so it will continue the direction of our eye. And then stop here, then I put the knife pointing to our main object here So it will create the direction here and then pointing to the, our main object. And then, so it add the texture but don't ruin our focus in our image here. And then in the empty area, I also put like fork and pointing to our, also pointing to our main subject. So, okay. We have already done with the composition. Let's see how it works and then I'll explain to you in the next section about the lighting we plan for this frame.
5. Project 1 : Light Your Food & Shoot!: Okay guys, we have done with the composition part and I'm so excited to take the photo shoot. But before we do the photoshoot, I will explain to you about the lighting technique for this scene okay. For this scene, the main angle is the top angle, and then we, we use the lighting from the right side of our object, Okay, the right side of our main object, the main object here is our white bread surrounded by blend scene and props. And then for the distance of the, our main object to the lighting, it's about one meter. And then for the height difference, It's about 30 cm from our object to our lighting there. And then the position in a straight line from our center of the lighting to our product. And then here I blocked the lighting using black clip board and then to make sure that the lighting only effect our main object. So the surrounding area will be darker. Are you guys excited for the photoshoot? Okay, So let's do it!
6. Project 1 : Before vs. After Editing Result: Okay guys, so we have done photo shoot and then here's the result. And then, okay, Are you guys excited to see how it will be edited? Okay? This is the comparison before and after the editing. Okay Now you realize that by using mobile phone, take the photo shoot and editing the picture can be dramatically change, okay And then, are you guys excited to know how to edit the picture? Okay, Let's move to the editing part!
7. Project 1 : Edit Your Image in Lightroom Apps!: Yes guys, and then we're back again to the editing part. Well, then I will give you a surprise. I want to show you an image which might be Okay whoa, it looks like this image is taken wrongly. The image is too much. Well, how do we fix it? Okay, Well, let's set it first. This picture must be vertical, so I will change it in the crop tool and then we will tilt it, to do it. You can choose rotate here. Okay, Well you can select rotate Well, so it will be like this and then we choose a tick, Okay. And then let's continue to light part guys. And then guess what else? We reduce the highlight guys and then you can see the details immediately. Previously it was invisible. Whoa... reduce the highlight The details invisible now, okay, and then if it is still bright guys, overall, it is still too bright, we will reduce the exposure. Okay, great! I think it's enough right. Okay, and then in this case I will reduce the shadow. So it is more dramatic. And then I will increase the white until I like the image. Okay, maybe my concern is that if I increase the white, it might be exaggerated. So I will be proper. Well, the image has already changed here, right? Let's see before, after okay. Whoa... well then we will try this one. Okay, is the exposure enough? Well, then what else guys? In curve, we will give three dots again. Ups oh.. wrong. If it is wrong like this. You can just go back here. Okay and then, we will increase the dark a bit here. We will increase it a bit. And we reduce it a bit so the image will be more dramatic, Okay. And then we choose Done. Yes. Well, I will reduce it a bit and make it darker, guys. Yes, okay, and then I will go to color okay. I will try... oh Before that. We will go to detail first and go to detail. Then we will increase the sharpening, increase the masking, and then we give nice reduction. So the noise will reduce. Make sure that the noise reduction is important guys, especially for the dark mood. Usually the effect seems to be dark and then there's noise so we increase it in order to erase the blurry. Yes, and then we will go to the Effect. And maybe here I will try to Dehaze tool to check it again. Whoa.. it seems that I will increase Dehaze because I like the character of the colors. Okay, whoa! I like Dehaze. So it looks more contrast but not too much. Okay. Well, okay, I will try Dehaze for you who feel this is to contrast. We can reduce the contrast by using the light tool. Then curve. Well here we will increase it a bit so the contrast won't be too much. Okay done, then what am I going to do here? I will try the color tool guys. Here. I will reduce the blue color. Let's choose it here. Well, believe it or not, there's a bit blue color here, guys. In stuff, if it is dark and exposed to colors, especially the pain material, there will be blue color, so I will reduce the blue. Well, you can see the difference. Well, if I increase it, the blue will be to obvious guy. So it contains blue on it. So we will reduce it, you direct it to the cutting board. Well, the blue will lessen. So we focus on the colors that we want to show up. So I will erase these. It seems that I will erase the purple too. Yes, the image focuses on the colors that we want only. Okay, and then I think I will crop the image. I will choose the cropping tool here. We select crop, and then we will crop it. So I will crop the image so it becomes portrait orientation. Well, if we crop it like this, it means the style is more central. So actually based on the Rule of Thirds like this, the middle object definitely looks obvious. So I will set it in the middle. Okay, and then I will tick it. Okay, Whoa... Very nice, or maybe the image is too narrow. Let me try to enlarge it a little bit, and I enlarge it a little bit more. Okay, tick, well... Here I will try again in Light. I will try to darken it a bit. To do it. It might be in Curve and then we feel that this area is too bright, right? We will try to look for where exactly this area is. Okay, maybe I will make a border a bit I will add some dots here and over here. I will reduce it here. Okay. Well, let's try to reduce it. Okay, I will try to reduce it so it doesn't look too bright, guys. Okay, Done. Great. Yes. And then whoa, guys, okay. And what else should we try? Shadow is done. Back is done, White is enough. I think let me try to reduce the darkness. Okay. Because we create a dark mood. Okay, And then yes, that's all guys. Let's compare it before. Whoa, after. Again. So the image is more dramatic. Okay. Very nice. Okay, and then let's check it again. What else can we edit here? Okay, I think it's done and then I will move to Snapseed. I want to try making an effect where the surrounding area becomes more under saturated or the color is reduced a bit. The yellow colors so that it really focuses in the middle where the color comes out a bit. So on the outside, I will reduce the saturation a bit and then the brightness too, that will be solved in Snapseed. Let's move to Snapseed But before that, we export the image first, export to camera roll. Okay, great. And then we will move to the Snapseed application.
8. Project 1 : Edit Your Image in Snapseed Apps!: Okay guys, welcome to Snapseed application. We will choose Tools. We will try to play around. First, I will try in Tune Image. I go to Tune Image. Swipe up, well, this time we will reduce the saturation. I will check the outside until I like it. Okay. Maybe I will try to darken it a bit. Just a little bit because I might focus more.
9. Project 2 : Choose Your Props!: Yeah. Okay guys. Welcome to the next section. Okay. In this section we will take the bread, yeah, the bread product like Pretzel like this. Okay and then, this one we will create seen like inverted C, okay, like the C letter here for the composition. And then we use three of our product. Okay And then for the results, okay, here's the result that we want to compose. And then for the background, for this one, we use the PPC material for the background, it is printed. So, for the props. We use the proper color that's similar to the background. Like... mostly we use the wooden one and then we also use the paper like newspaper like there. And then we also use the small aluminum glass like this. And then we also use the small wooden glass like this, and then, we also use small bowl like this especially for the small bowl like this, because it can be very adaptive to any scene you shoot. Okay. You even can use this for the bright scene, the dark scene, the wood scene because it can be very adaptive it is see-through light, right? Okay, and then in most of my scene, it's also important for me, to show the detail part of our scene. So since it's small and then I also use the small spoon like this okay, to add more detail in our scene. So, and then, I also use the cinnamon stick like this, because the color of the cinnamon stick is also very match to our background here. And then, I also use wooden tray. dark wooden tray. And then, I also choose cloth like this. Yeah. You know that I choose the dark brown because yeah, it also blend with our background. And then we also chose this one. This is like yeah, this is small croissant. This small croissant we wrapped it with the paper. So you've created like this. And then it's also important you have a small jar like this because it also can be very adaptive to any background you use. So it is very important. Mostly I start to buy the small props first, because it is very important. With small props, you can use in many theme or many mood in the future. Okay? So I've done with introdution of our props. Then, let's do the composition!
10. Project 2 : Compose Your Shots!: okay guys, for the composition in this scene, we will create a movement like C letter but invert yeah. C Letter from here to here. So we will use the prop from here and then continue with Pretzels and then continue props in right here. Okay, let's do it! Okay guys, we have done composing this part, and then I will explain a little bit to you the details about what decision I make for the scene. The first step, you can put the main object first, this one, this three Pretzel. In this area, I put the wood so it will give the direction from here and then continue to the Pretzel and then to here. Okay. Even the spoon, I put it like this, so it will direct our eye, to the direction we set, okay? And also this one. And then in this area, we also use the Rule of Odds. We use three Pretzel here. And then let's continue to our introduction for the lighting for this scene. Okay, let's go!
11. Project 2 : Light Your Food & Shoot!: Okay guys, we have done the composition and then I'll explain to you the tips for lighting in this frame, okay? In this frame, we make a negative space in the left area of our image. And then we put the distance between our subject into the lighting is more likely 1 m or 150 meter from our subject to our lighting. And then the height difference, is about 30 cm. The lighting 30 cm higher than our object here. And then because the area that want to affected by the lighting is quite large, so we give them slightly larger distance between two blocker here. So the lighting will hit three of our object here. Okay? So, are you guys excited for the photoshoot? Okay, let's do it!
12. Project 2 : Before vs. After Editing Result: Okay guys, we have done the photoshoot! Okay. This is the result. And then I will show you the edited picture. Okay, here you go. Are you guys excited how to find out how Lightroom Mobile can create such a beautiful and dramatic image from raw to our last version, our final version? Okay, Let's move to the editing section.
13. Project 2 : Edit Your Image in Lightroom Apps!: Okay, Well guys, we have come into the editing session again. And then here you can see that this image has a lot of things that we need to improve. So indeed I give one extreme example like this so you can explore the editing part to make it great. Well, so guys, you don't have to worry about the image matters because if you have the editing ability, the result will be great guys. So no need to worry, okay. Well so, in this session I will explain if you use premium features. So I will teach you the premium feature also in case you upgrade to Adobe Lightroom premium. Well then first, we're gonna directly use the light. Come on. Try to remember the sequence guys, first, which one will we reduce? We reduce the Highlight. Then we also increase the White until we like the image. Okay, until we get the right colors. Let's say you will try to stop here and then I will create it in Curve. I will make the image become, I will select here guys. Then we will choose the three dot here. We set three dots The purposes is that if we change it, these dots will stay still. So it's like a benchmark if we lift it, it will stand by here. If we don't give three dots here, then we lift it. It will move around. Well, it's important to set the dots here. Okay, and then we will lift it a bit so the image becomes a bit more dramatic. Well, okay, from here we will reduce it, okay, and then we choose done. Well, for the editing. The first thing I will do is doing the usual editing, okay. We select Detail. And then I usually will use Noise Reduction because there's some noise in the image. So if we don't use it, you can see that it is like this, Well the image seems to have dots. So we use noise reduction. So it will lessen. Well, it will reduce more guys. And then I will choose Sharpening. I will increase the Sharpening and then I will increase the Masking. Well, that's it. You can see the difference. If we increase the Sharpening, all of it will become sharp. This area will become sharp too, dotted. If we increase the Masking. you can see that the one that is sharpen is only in the line area. This one doesn't look sharp anymore. Okay. Yes. And then where else should we go? Well, here we can see the effects tool, Effects. Well here I will try to play around with the Vignette. So I will reduce the Vignette and then I will reduce the Midpoint just like before, maybe. I increase the feather and I increase the Roundness. Okay. Yes, let's try it, okay. Very nice. And then I will continue, guys. Let's check again. What else do you think we can fix before we go to Healing and Selective? Okay. Let's try checking it. Well, I will try to check it in color. Well, oops wait! There is Dehaze in the Effects. Let's try it. The Dehaze. Yeah. Well, let's try it. Okay. I will try increasing the Dehaze a bit. Then maybe I will go back to Curve. I will increase it here. Okay? Nice. Well, here maybe I think the image is too bright, so I will go back to Light and then to darken it, I will use Exposure. I reduce the exposure a bit so it will be darker. Okay, yes, I think it's enough here. This is before. Let's see it, okay. Before, after. Okay, the image has started to look great and we will try in Color guys, then I always check the Mix tool. In Mix, I usually will reduce the tone color of blue to purple. So I will erase it. Well, okay, maybe I will let the blue a bit. So the tone is really only the tone we like. And usually I indeed erase the blue if it is in dark mode, but for you who still want to let the blue tone, it's okay. So it is more like my style, okay guys. And then let's compare it again. Before. After there's an improvement in the image guys. And then, well, here we will try playing around in this area called Healing and Selective, okay. Well, here I will select Selective and then I will usually try to darken this area. So to let it become the stand out area, it's bright now. So the focus is here more. So I will darken it. To do it we select here. And if you are studious, you can use this because it is the manual brush. But later I will tell you more, but maybe I usually use this 1 first, the radial one. So I will try to tap here ones and then let's enlarge it. Okay. Well, so the size is the same as what I want. Well, it's interesting here, guys, we have selected here and then we can set here. So we can set it all just in this area. Well, here we select Light. And then I will try to darken this area. So I will reduce the Highlight and then I will try to reduce the Exposure a bit. So it will be darker. Maybe I will enlarge it so it can be affected. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Maybe it's enough. Well, it tends to be like this. It's a bit grayish, right? Well, so I will try it here in Color. I will increase the yellow a bit so the wood color will be back a bit. Yes, and then okay. Then I will add it again. Add it here. I will add it here. So it's a bit here it, it darken a bit, reduced the Highlight and the lighting. Okay? Yes, very good, very good. And then if you think that it's too dark, we can increase it. I will try other tools we choose Selective and then select here and we choose this. This is gradient so you can just swipe it. Just swipe it like this. Yes. And then guys, so the red area here is the effected red, okay. Well, so we just select Light. And then here we increase this shadow. So it will look brighter a bit, okay? Okay. Well, I usually will reduce the colors. I will reduce the Saturation. So the most colorful area that I create is only in this area. Tick it and then, okay, well, I think it's too dark here, so I will choose Selective again and then I will select here. And I will choose radial and I will tap the food. Okay. And then I will select Light. And then here I will increase the Shadow so it looks bright. I will increase the Shadow and then maybe I will reduce the Highlight. So we can get the details, okay. To duplicate, you tap here in the middle. Hold it, well then duplicate radial gradient will come out. So we just duplicate it and hold it again, duplicate again and here, Okay. Yes, we tick it here, guys. Okay. And then if you think these area is too yellow, right? It seems like because of the light effect, we can change these areas so it won't be too yellow. To do it. We choose Selective again. And then we choose here and we choose this one, okay? Well, here we can change it, you just hold it here and then swipe up, and then I will try it, okay. Tap here for a while then swipe up and down. Well, you can see that we can set how big the brush is. This time I will change it just this much. And then here we tap this area we tap the wide one. And we hold it and then we go up and down. You can see that the border becomes unclear. If we reduce it down, the border becomes clearer. We hold it up and down like that. Okay, we can see it. So I usually will change it into moderate, okay, like this. Well, then we're ready. Oops, if we choose the wrong tool, just delete it. Here. There is Delete and then we swipe this area. Well, I swipe this area and then I will swipe, well, you can see, right? There is a bit of pinkish in this area. So I will do it too. In this area which is too yellow. Yes. And then it's the same as in this area. I don't know what effect this is. Maybe it's from the lighting. So we will reduce it. To do it, we will choose this one again. In this part. The color, guys, choose Color and reduce the Saturation. Well, so it won't be like the previous one. It seems too much. I will reduce it, okay. I reduce it normally this much I think, okay. And maybe I will add it again. I will add a bit. Okay, then it's finished. Let's tick it. Okay, well, save. And this is before this is after, okay. Well, it's the picture. And then let's check it again. Maybe I will crop this part because I think it's too wide. I will select Crop, then I will crop this part. Well, we will crop it. Let's see. Well, so if I crop it like this, you can see the lines, okay. This is the Rule of Third lines, okay guys, which indicate, our main object. If it's flat lay photo like this, or the top angle photo like this, if our main object has been positioned between this line and this line, this intersection lines is the sexy area, the area that becomes the main attention. Okay. So we crop it like this, so we use the Rule of third, okay? And then we just select the tick, okay And what else, guys? Okay, maybe we will try to darken this area again. Let's try testing it. Here we can choose Selective again, we select gradient and then we will darken the area over here. To do it, you've already like this. And then we will select Light and we reduce the Highlight and then maybe I will try to reduce the White. Yes. Okay. So the bread area becomes dark, but it doesn't affect the dark area. Okay, save. And then what else should we set Guys? What will we try again? Actually, the colors over here are a bit too much, so I will brighten it. We will choose Selective again and select Radial here, the round one, tap once and then we choose the tool named Color, okay? And then I will reduce the Saturation. I will reduce it, over here so that the colors won't be too much. Okay, yes very good, very good. Okay Yes. Just imagine that this is the result. Well, let's check again the before image. Whoa, this is the after image. Okay, So guys, editing is very impactful. And then okay, let's see why is it a bit gray over here? Let's check the result again. Okay, you can add a radial again over here. If we think it is, grayish, we select the Color here. We select Color and then we choose this one, okay. We increase the yellow a bit, just a little bit. Because it's very different, right? Well, for those of you who think that, well, it seems that the editing is to detail. No problem. You can stop in this step where you think that you are happy with the result, okay? So I'll try to do it as perfectly as I can, okay? But for you who don't need that level of perfection, you don't have to think that what you do is wrong, okay? Because I'm here to teach. Well, I think it's too bright here, so I will darken it a bit. Okay? Yes, that's it, guys. Awesome, right? So from before to after, I only use one application, guys. So it's so simple. So we just need to export it. Okay? And then we can just export it. We choose this one and then we select Export to camera roll. Yes. Okay. Whoa, we've finished exporting it and then the image can be checked directly in our gallery or in photos. Okay, great. I think that's all guys. Then let's move to the next section!
14. Project 3 : Compose Your Shots!: Hello guys, welcome to this section. This is very exciting because for now, we will take dark mood food photography for 45-degree. Yeah. Okay. Before with take the beverage and then this one will take the food photography 45 degree. Okay. This is our main product here. Okay Yeah, we already cut the bread like this and then I have a tips for you. Have you ever experienced when you do the dark mood food photography? Actually this is gray, but when you take the photo shoot, After the lighting hits your frame. You can see that why your background quiet blue. It's like bluish, okay. Actually the blue color in dark mood food photography, it's very natural. And it's very easy to remove the blue colored in our food photography because maybe there's not many foods out there that the color is blue, okay, so it really easy to remove the blue without decreasing the quality of our picture here. And then another tips is, if you have the cloth like this, table cloth like this. And then the color, actually this is dark, but when the lighting hits here, the color is become bright blue. So it very distracting our frame because our theme here is dark gray. And then what if you get that the dark blue cloth here? Actually, this is very simple to fix this color into the dark gray, okay? Yeah, using Lightroom Mobile. Okay. Later, in this editing section, I will explain to you how to create this one. These bright blue into the dark gray, okay? Yes. And then I will explain to you another props we use here. This one, we already put the bread and the bowl. We will put it behind our product. Actually, you can see that this one is quite bright, but you don't have to worry because later we will put the blocking behind our product so it will be darker. And then in the editing part, we also will decrease the color, okay. So the focus will be main in the center of our frame. And then this one also we put it on the dark cloth. And then I tend to use the smaller props like this and nature color and then the dark wood bowl. Okay. Also dried flowers here. And I also prepared some cookies here just in case I want to add or fill the empty area. And then I also prepare yeah, rustic fork. Okay. Let's do the composition!
15. Project 3 : Light Your Food & Shoot!: Okay guys, we have done from the composition part and then I will give you tips about the lighting, okay. And you see the scene before this product. You can see that the lighting settings is very simple because it's slightly similar, okay, the distance between our main product here to the lighting is about one meter and the height difference is 30 centimeters. Okay, It's pretty simple and then we also block the lighting. So for the foreground area and the background area will be darker, and then there will be a highlight and shadow in... just in our main product here. Okay. Are you excited for the photoshoot? Okay, let's do it!
16. Project 3 : Before vs. After Editing Result: Okay guys, we have done for the photo shoot and then here's the result. And then you can see the comparison between before and after the editing. Okay, here you go. In the next part, I will explain to you step-by-step how to edit this picture, okay? How to increase the quality, how to increase the sharpness, and how to increase the mood. So it will be very suitable for dark mood food photography. Okay, Let's do the editing.
17. Project 3 : Edit Your Image in Lightroom Apps!: Okay guys, and then we will go to the next editing session. Okay, well, here, we are going to fix the image. And then we have gotten the motion image like this and we'll try to retouch, Okay. The first step is the same guys. We select Light and then reduce the Highlight. The impression is dark, right? But don't worry, when we increase the White the colors, will come out guys. Okay. Yes. And then we have reached the colors, which it's light is just right. Well, then i will select Curve here. I will give three dots as usual. I will increase it a bit and then you reduce the top part. Okay, let's choose Done. It has changed a lot. So before, after, okay. And then we will continue to the detail part. Detail. I will increase the Sharpening, increase the Masking. And then I will set the Noise Reduction. So the noise will be reduced. Try to see the noise, guys. It's blurry, right? We will reduce it. See, it becomes softer. Okay, but if the Noise Reduction is too much, the picture will be blurry. more blurry. Well, become soft, but it doesn't matter for you who like it, it turns very soft, right? As long as we use Sharpening and Masking, the image, we'll still be sharp. Okay? Yes. Whoa... it has already change lot guys. Before, after. Okay. Well, then guys, we will go to the Effects part. Here. I will darken the surroundings so it will focus in the middle. So here I will reduce the Vignette. And then I will reduce the Midpoint I increase the Feather and the Roundness, okay, that's the setting which is if... I want to darken the surrounding. It's one package with Midpoint, Father, and Roundness. So, it will look natural. I have made it as one Okay. Then what do... should I go next, guys? I will try to test Dehaze here. Will it be more dramatic, guys? Okay. Yes, maybe I will increase Dehaze a bit and then I will try to check the Light. Do I need to increase the Shadow or not. Okay. I will make the Shadow normal. And then we will go to the color part. Well, here there's leakage in the back. It's a bit blue here. So I will erase all the blue. I will choose Mix and then I will reduce the blue color, guys. Yes, so the picture very focus on the colors we like. And then maybe the red here can be erased. You guys select Mix and then you can erase the red to, okay. So, it very focus on the colors we like. Okay, let's choose Done. And then here I want to crop the edges because there are a lot of leakage here. I will crop it. So, we will select the crop tool and then we will choose... I will crop it. So I set it as portrait orientation with the position of the drink in the middle. Okay? Yes, and then we tick it Okay. The image change a lot, right? So this is before and this is after? Before, after. Yes. And then what else do you want to edit? Let's check it again. Here. Well, then we will check it again, what else? Yes, I feel that it is the mood that we want to create guys. Well, so the editing is easy, so it's not difficult. And for you who think that this area should be darken, this area should be Lighten, then we can try it in the Snapseed application, okay. Let's save it first. We choose the tick here, and then select Export your camera roll, and then we will see you again in Snapseed guys. Okay.
18. Project 3 : Edit Your Image in Snapseed Apps!: Yes Guys, we have come into the Snapseed application and then okay, what will we touch up here? Lets select tools, I think I want to try this Selective tool first. I want to fix this one because I think it's too dark, so I will increase it. I will select here. I tap here once and then I enlarge it so it will be much affected. And then we will try in Brightness and we swipe right Well, we can see that the details have increased. Let see the Structure Well, okay nice! So I think dark is okay, but don't let the details disappear. Okay? Tick Yes. Nice. And then, here I think there's a leakage in this area. And we will try to select Tools. And then yep, the thing that we can do is in Healing Brush! We test it, whether it works with the Healing Brush. Okay, I will try to swipe here. Okay. Whoa, it's magic, guys. And here, there are the unclear lines, right? I will erase it too. So basically, actually for Healing Brush, It's not bad to use Snapseed guys. It's so fast. Yes. Okay. And then what else do we want to clean? Well, these dots are up to you guys. If you want to clean it, it's easy but it needs time. Okay. Maybe, in this opportunity, Wow, it can be cut. Okay, maybe in this opportunity I want to erase it all. So what else guys? Okay, I will try to go back to Tools. Tools and then this time I will create Lens Blur. Okay? Well, the interesting thing here is that you can create a blur effect. Okay. Well, here are will make the area which is outside of the drink we set becomes more blurry guys. Okay. But, well, just swipe it the Blur Strength, we choose the Blur Strength and then we swipe left to reduce the blur level. So I will make it blurry a bit and then I will tick it again. Okay, so it is a bit blurry, just a little bit, and maybe it doesn't look too obvious. Let's choose it again and go to View Edits. We go back to the Lens Blur and we can set it again here, Okay, and then we increase the Blur Strength. Okay And then we tick it, okay, Well, the blur is more obvious is time, right? We choose back. Okay, very nice. And maybe for you who feel it's not right. You can also select Tools and just choose Selective, okay? We select here, tap here nce. And then we can set it to make it dark, for example. Okay guys, okay. And then we can choose here too, if we want to lighten it a bit. So it will be more balanced. Okay, very nice guys. I think it's enough. And then we will export it here, we select Export. And then we select, Save a Copy.
19. Project 3 : Edit Your Image in Lens Distortions Apps!: Yes, guys. And then we will try using the application named Lens Distortions, okay. And then, I will introduce you to the very interesting tools. For you who like it. You can use it as an option to add the style of the photo. But if you don't like it, you don't have to use it, okay. Well, guys, you can add heavenly light here. It seems that it is suitable for a 45-degree photo like this. If the photo is taken from the above, it is not necessarily fitted. Well, it is easy to do it. You just select this and then, well, the heavenly light comes out immediately. And then, it can be set. So, just select here. And then reduce the Opacity, so it won't look too obvious. Okay, for example, we set it like this, and then we set it like this. Okay, so there are like heavenly lights, guys, okay, before, after. Well, maybe some of you will like it. Some of you think that it is disturbing, but it can add dramatic effect to our photos. Actually, it can be changed. There are a lot of variations. Okay. But I like this one more. So I usually will be like this and then I will select the Opacity. I will reduce it. Okay. Yes, it is an option for you who wants to give different effects guys. Although I think it is attractive because it is so focus, right? But we also have additional options, okay. So the tools in Lens Distortions are very interesting. So, to go into the setting we choose this one and then select here. Well, there's a special setting for the lights here, Okay, and then you select here to export it. And then you choose Export Image. If you use the paid version one, there will be a JPEG Max option. But, if you use the free one, it is enough to use JPEG 85 percent, It's great enough and the result is impressive! And then select Export Image, okay. After Export image, the image can be checked in the gallery.
20. Project 4 : Choose Your Props!: Okay guys, Welcome to this section. In this section, we will take the beverage dark moody food photography, okay? And then I will introduce to you the props we are using here, okay, In this section, we will use, you can see that this is quite bright, okay, for the dark moody photography. But don't worry, I will teach you how to hacks, yeah. Even if you have the bright background, you can make it dark and moody also with the blocking technique that I will explain in the next section, okay? And then it also will solve any problem that if you don't have the props that is quite similar with the background like this. If you have only wooden background, not the gray one. You don't have to worry also because actually in the dark moody background, we have too separate which props we've put behind our product and which props we put in front of our product. Actually the bigger props we will put behind our product. If I photoshoot from here, and then I will block the lighting from here. So, it will be very dark in this area. So if you block the lighting, you don't have to worry if you have slightly different color from the background because it will be darker and the main focus will remain this one. Okay, I also use this vast and this glass. I fill it with the coconut sugar because this coffee use coconut sugar. So, I will use this one. Yeah, maybe some of you will say it like brown sugar. It is the same. Okay. And then I also used like... dry leaves here. And then I use the dark brown cloth in this scene. And also don't forget, we can also use coffee bean here because this product is coffee. So I use coffee bean. And then, I also prepare the extra coffee been here so I can put it in the foreground, okay. And then, cookies also. And I also have the small bowl of wooden bowls, small wooden bowl here. Okay. So this is the props we use for the scene. Actually. If you find that, wow, the props actually quite difficult to compose because the color is harder than before. Actually. To harmonize this kind of scene, you have to... The key is you do the blocking. If we do the blocking, even if the color of the props in our background is not very supporting our scene. But if we block here and then the focus, we'll still remain here. Okay, so let's do the competition!
21. Project 4 : Light Your Drink!: Okay guys, In this part, I will explain to you about the lighting technique. Okay? We can see that the background is quite bright. So, is it possible to create dark, moody picture in bright background like this? Yes, there's possible. The key is you block the lighting using the black clipboard like this, okay, the lighting position from here, you can see that the distance between our beverage here to the lighting as proximally one meter. And then the height difference is 30 cm. And then you can see the lighting in straight line with our object here. Okay. If we don't use the blocking, the scene will be... like a messy here, okay? You can't see everything. You don't feel like any focus in the scene. So to increase the focus and to create the dark, moody scene, we just block this area, and then, make sure the lighting only goes straight to our main object here. Yeah, our beverage. So the lighting will create the transition between the light and the dark area in our beverage here. And the look will be very nice. Our object here will look like three-dimensional because the transition between light here and the dark here. Okay, so let's go... I'm very excited. Let's do the photoshoot!
22. Project 4 : Shoot Your Drink!: Okay guys, in this photoshoot section, okay, now we are already set up it with assistant also. So we will create motion. Yeah. So in this section, I will take the photos using camera from Lightroom Mobile. So in this camera you can set up that it will preview the grips so you can place the object. So you can see here, I put the object in this line. Then I'll put the milk. Pour from this line, we use the Rules of Third roles, okay. Okay, let's do it. First we aimed the position. Okay. And then we can also drag it to right and left to adjust the exposure for this one because we want to create the dark and moody scene. So, we will set up is like this And then okay. Yeah, I'll settle with this one. And then okay, let's do the photoshoot! One two three, let's go! Very nice. Okay. Very nice.
23. Project 4 : Before vs. After Editing Result: Okay guys, we have finished our photoshoot here, and then here's the result. Okay, Then let's compare before and after the editing. Okay, here's the preview... before and after the editing. Okay So to make you guys can also do the editing like what we do. You guys can just follow our instructions step-by-step using Lightroom Mobile. In our next section, let's go!
24. Project 4 : Edit Your Image in Lightroom Apps!: Okay guys, one more time, we come into the editing session. I'm very happy with the editing session because in editing sessions we can create more, and then the image can be dramatic, guys. That's the interesting thing about editing, okay. And then, here I will do the setting again. Although our images are taken by smartphone, the key is that your great in editing, actually, either you use a DSLR or smartphone with any brand, you can make it more flexible. And maybe for you who have team, for example, social media team. It is important to have friends that can teach this to the team. So the team doesn't have to use fancy cameras. So by using our own smartphone, the result will be impressive. Okay, let's continue. Here. I crop the image first so it will be straight because it is a bit tilted. I will set the image to become straight and then I will crop the edges, okay Let's try it. Yes. Well, and then guy's, okay, let's continue the mission. We reduce the Highlight, bring up the Details again, bring back the details. We increase the White until the texture and the colors are great. And then we set the Curve, as usual. We set the three dots, we increase it a bit so it becomes more dramatic. You can increase it as you like it. For me, I like it to be moderate. Okay, and we choose Done. And then, actually I'm distracted, by the blue color because there's only blue drapery, but actually I don't want the blue color. So in the color we'll set Mix, then, we will reduce the blue color fully. Maybe, I will live it just a little bit. Okay. Maybe I will reduce the purple too. Yes, Nice, nice, nice. And then guys, here, we will go back to Light. Here, we will decide whether I reduce or increase the Shadow. Okay, but maybe before that I will try to go to Details first. We will do our mandatory thing, okay? Masking. And then we also increase the Noise Reduction so the image won't be too rough. Okay, here it seems that I won't use Vignette. Maybe I will try using another way guys. Later, we can pay attentions, and then we try the Effects tool. Let's try in the Dehaze. Maybe we increase it so the image will be more dramatic. Okay. Yes, here Dehaze is like increasing contrast, but it doesn't look too tacky. So it's quiet good. Well, then what else should we do? Well, I will give you another technique. So I will reduce the Saturation in the background and then I will darken this area a little bit in order to brighten this area. Maybe it's a bit white. Well, to do it, I will teach you in the Selective tool. And then, I use the premium feature. This time I teach the additional technique, we choose here, and then we select this one. And we can choose this part to select the food part. And then we can automatically select the outer area by choosing here, this is for invert, okay? So this one. Well, what we set will affect the outer part automatically, not the food. That's what I often do. Here, I just select the color part and then I reduce the Saturation. Well, that's it guys. So, in the background part, the saturation is reduced and then it focuses on the middle area. Okay, tick it, and then I will increase the red color on the bread. So I choose Color and then I choose Mix. Then, we try in the red part, we just try it, okay. Let's try increasing the Saturation. Okay, maybe in the orange part, I will choose orange. This is the orange part. Then I will transform the orange to red. Well, guys, you can see that the bread becomes red because the orange on the bread turns red. So we can change it. Okay, well, okay, well we make the bread become red a little bit more. We take it. Yeah, you can see it. Whoa... it has changed, guys. Okay. And then what else should we do here? I think I will darken the area over here, guys, and then we choose Selective. Then we will choose this one. We will choose this tool, Gradient. Well, I will try to darken it. just select Light and then we will reduce the Exposure. Okay? And then I will try it too in the back area. Well, so I will try to darken it too just a bit. Maybe I will darken it, but I will increase the shadow a bit so it won't be to black. Okay. Okay. Yes. And then I will leave this area a bit because I make sure that there's no dark area. So we still got the details. I will increase the Light this time in the White part, so it still looks a bit bright. And then maybe here I will increase the Shadow a bit. Okay, Let's tick it. Yes, well, and then we will make the background area blur. Okay. So maybe in Selective, we choose it again. We have already selected the outer part. So we choose, or we choose the new one. We choose the tick here, we choose this one and we create the new one. Guys, let's choose this one, okay? Well, the thing that we do is that we select Details. Well, we will make it blurry a bit in the area outside the food so I will reduce the Sharpness. Well, so, the red area here is the area which the sharpness is reduced, we tick it. Okay. The outer part is a bit blurry, guys. Okay. Well, so you can compare it before. Whoa... after guys. Okay. Well, cool, isn't it? The editing of dark mood photography is a bit unique. And then, there is the style so you can explore it, guys. Well, this is the editing process of a dark mood food photography. It's because we use the premium feature. So it's enough to use one application. Like this, guys. Well, for example, if we use the free feature, you can use the feature for blurring the background area, reducing the colors in Snapseed, okay. Alright? Okay, And then is there anything else? Let's check it again. Okay. There's nothing left. Next, let's export it, guys. And then let's Save to Camera Roll. Yes. And then let's move to another section!
25. Closing Dark Mood Food Photography: Okay guys, finally we've come to the end of our course. Okay? I rephrase, this is not the end, but this is the start for you. Okay? So my tips is... after you watch our course from the first until now, the end of the course, okay? I suggest that when you practice, you can also practice in your home and then you can practice while opening the course again, okay? Which one the scene you want to recreate and then you play the scene. So it looks like I'm togetter with you to create the scene, okay. To do the Photoshoot. It's my tips because sometimes it quite impossible to remember all the tips from start until the end of the course. So I usually, when I do the practice something new, I also open the course beside me so I can do the photo shoot more detail, okay, also the composition, I can do more detail. And then it's really okay if you find out that first photoshoot, not really good compared to the course, because when doing the photo shoot, you need more hours of experience. Okay? And then I suggest you, you do the photo shoot and then you have to post the photo shoot in your Instagram account. When you practice, make sure you practice the composition and also the editing part. Okay? Because in the editing part, actually it improves the image a lot. Okay? So please make sure even if you haven't do the proper photoshoot yet, seems like, Oh, I think I haven't have quite nice background yet. Or you haven't. Have like this props that props, is really okay. But, please you can practice the editing, because the editing will change your result dramatically, okay? And then you can also practice the editing part for maybe the picture you have shoot before, so it will instantly improve the result of your shoot. And then please make sure also, every practice, please make sure you also post in your Instagram account because it helps a lot. And then you can also track your record from the first time your photo shoot until maybe about like four weeks or eight weeks, you can see the difference between the last shot and the first shot. Okay, so it's all about the experience. So I think that's all. Okay. See you in our next course, okay. Bye bye.
