If you want to elevate your business, your career, your news organization, or your service to the next level, this course will guide you through the process. Each new class will teach you a new technique that will be integral to your overall marketing plan.

After this course (and any further courses taken), you will have a solid foundation on which to build a successful enterprise. In this way, you'll know exactly which promotional strategies will yield the most results for your business and how to put them into action. More information regarding marketing strategies will be presented in subsequent sections.

Lesson 1 – Introduction

Greetings, and thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit more about me. In this video, I share a high-level overview of my 20 years of sales experience as a Director of Sales and Marketing. Also included is a brief introduction to the first topic we'll be covering in class and why it's so crucial to get a head start on it.

I'll see you in the classroom.

Lesson 2 - Categories of Clients

Typical for those in charge of a small business, the owner tends to put more emphasis on action than preparation. When promoting a small business, it's  important to put forth effort, but we can't forget about our current customers, they're a big part of our success, too.

While you work on a simple marketing strategy to ensure that all of your customers are receiving equal attention, keeping busy will help you stay on track. Well, let's check out what each of those groups entails in our class.

Lesson 3- Mistakes to Avoid

Learn by doing, and don't be afraid to make some blunders.Understanding this is the first and most important step in dealing with them. Ignoring proven methods in favor of new approaches is the very definition of insanity.

It's the same of placing a weekly ad in a local newspaper and then doing nothing to address the fact that you're not receiving any responses but maintaining optimism that you will. There are multiple such examples, and it's probable that we're all responsible for at least some of them.

Let’s take a Look at Them

Lesson 4: Marketing Plan Simplified

With a well thought out plan in place, promoting your business shouldn't be too much of a guessing game. It's the end result of all your deliberation and analysis. In a very real sense, it is a symbol of your dedication and the road ahead.

This chapter will explain why it's crucial for your company's marketing to stay on track, as well as the advantages you'll reap from adopting a simple marketing approach.

Lessen 5- Niche Defined and Discovered

Using niche marketing, businesses aim their efforts at a specific subset of consumers. In niche marketing, products and services are aimed at specific groups of people who share common characteristics such as interests, income levels, etc. The way your company positions itself may be of interest to a niche of customers with specific requirements.

Lesson Title 6: Vision Explained

Imagining a desirable future outcome is effective. You can get a strategic planning meeting off to a good start by outlining the final objective. The strategic plan for your company should be based on the goals and objectives that emerged from your vision for the business.

Lesson Title 7: Customer feedback

Both compliments and criticisms of your work may be found in customer feedback. Yours? There are numerous approaches to gathering comments.

We'll have to discuss this in greater depth in class, so I'll have to see you then.

Lesson Title 8: Your Assignment- See attached form and Video for more Details.

Lesson Title 9: Brand Marketing

Figure out how much money your clientele is worth. The more you learn about your target market, the more informed decisions you'll be able to make about how to develop your business. Every new customer is valuable to your company, no matter how small they are in initial purchase. We will elaborate.

Lesson Title 10: Thank You.

Excited to see you in the Class.

Regards
Vishal Sagar

1. Introduction - SkillUp to Scale: Opening a new business nowadays means competition from everywhere. Advancing technology is encouraging the cross industry competition. And it is very important that every business owner know some basics. Hello everyone. My name is Vishal Sagar and welcome to my first Skillshare class. I'm based here in Toronto and it's one of the beautiful city in Canada. I worked as a director of sales and marketing for hotels like Fairmount and Hyatt. And I'm also a certified realtor as well as a financial adviser in Ontario. My classes in the future will be related to your personal development and anything I can share with you. I'm keen to share my 20 years of sales and finance experienced through this wonderful platform of Skillshare. In this class, we're going to go through the process that how consistent action can lead to a massive results. Mistakes and many business has a very strong relationship. Business owners do them all the time and for the same reason, either they go out of the business, or never see any growth. We will talk about how a small business owner can prioritize their work. Most of them focused on doing our planning and they get stuck where they are. We will also touch on the common mistake they do and how to avoid them. Also the marketing techniques which help them to grow further. In addition, brand name and brand value, or the key of any business nowadays, small businesses are afraid of doing anything, what it takes to stand out. In the last chapter, we'll touch on how do we execute those strategies and how a small business owner can apply them on day-to-day so that they can also see the success. You have interesting project coming your way. And if you're ready, you'll have lots of fun and learning along the way. This class is for anybody who wants to be independent business owner, everybody can avoid these mistakes and apply these secrets in your business. So let's go to the next chapter. Let's see how we can categorize our clients. Let's look at who are the clients we need to focus more or less. So we'll talk about it. See you in the next class. 2. Clients- Let's Categorize them.: Alright, welcome to your first lesson. Let's categorize our clients. First is acquisition. Getting a new client is worry for many, many professionals. Sometimes it's as simple as finding someone who is already looking for your services and products. Now traditional customer acquisition means promoting and also closing the sales. But many professionals, many business owners, they struggled with this. They just wait for people to come to their door or to just show up at their doors. Now, there are lots and lots of uniques approaches available out there. It’s just about contributing the value and creating some industry presence or awareness. And that is what it takes. Now when we assist potential clients, they're more likely to come back to us and chooses us again and again. However, we need to make an attempt. Now, there are people searching for company and product like ours and for the same reason, business owner has to develop a BRAND. Now reputation is more than a strategic advantage. We can start that by creating small content. And local social media presence are somehow build the credibility in your own area. Now the question is, how do we build the credibility? That is where most of the business owners stuck. So the number one is finding an ambassador, recruiting an ambassador. Sometime people, those who are in your area, those who are small influencers can creat a create a huge difference out there. So you need to go out there and ask them for their support. Now, they may ask you to pay some price or some freebies, but who cares? I mean, that's the price to pay for the business. So you have to go for it. Now next one is, ask for feedback. We shall ask client for their feedbacks. Some clients are grateful to give the referrals, references. So don't hesitate to go out there and ask for an input and customer for their product reviews. Obviously, we are more depending on Google reviews or sometime Yelp reviews and so on. But to find out the exact problems or what problem they are facing and talking to them in person is the best way. Now, when they come to you, your store, or when you contact them through either any other channels like Zoom and giving them that opportunity to speak. You may see so much coming out of them. And they may have never ever put it out there on Google and Facebook, what they can tell you in person. Now think about some of the following. To acquire a better understanding of your ideal client, let's look at what is ideal clients me. You have to understand your ideal customers and what they are having a trouble with. Now. Your ideal customer, what they're looking for, and why they came to you at first place. Well, what have you done in order for them to be satisfied? And why wouldn't they buy your product if they would choose to go somewhere else? If they decided how to go out to the competition, what is that? They go out and look for which you can not or are not able to provide. Knowing your clients can help you to target that particular market. Now by narrowing your audience, you may be able to even reduce your expenses and just focusing on the right people, those who are interested in you and your services is better way to invest your money rather than just randomly go out there and advertise. The next one is retention. Retention contributes to the expansion and stability of any business. Companies may enhance profitability by almost 90 per cent through raising the customer retention rate. We call it CRR, company boost credibility, trust, and brand emotions by continually offering that value. Now here are the four most significant advantage of Client Retention. Number one is repeat client. Currently consumer trust your brand. So making them a repeat client or a customer is way easier. Sometimes they behave like a source of acquisition of new customers through word of mouth that is like testimonials, references. Other than that, they don't need any promotions to build consumers trust your brand. So no retention marketing required, or no promotion needed in their case. Versus new consumers will require extensive, extensive spend to create brand awareness and statement. So the retention client will help you to get more and more acquisition client some time without even having to advertise. They keep coming back to you. Boost the bottom line. In fact, satisfied customer are more likely to make more purchases than anybody knew who is drying your products and, you know, just, just testing it out. Now that's the next one. Development. Development is about building and buying incentive now to transform your stranger, those retention clients to your friends. Client engagement needs ongoing relationship investments, and also asking customers about their experience so that you're showing the trust in them. So that they have, if they have to ever say anything. And you are listening to that while you're talking to them. That can also create a huge difference. We should also think about relationship-building added values. Sometime client may not be able to tell you something, everything without having to tell them what it exactly that. So relationship-building will help you that you probably won't even imagine. Or sometimes they can come up with so much things which probably you won't even realize that that is required in your business. So make them your friend and they're able to share anything with you. It happens only once you invest in them and that investment will pay you off. Make sure you do not forget them because they are also someone who is going to bring your business now to the next level. So the acquisition clients, new clients, retention client's paying our bills, Development clients now helping us to grow our business to the next level. So I hope these three categories helps you to understand where we stand. Now, we'll look at, in next lesson, we'll talk about what are the mistakes? What are the generic mistake which people do not realize and the mistakes basically they can avoid. mistakes, They have already been doing it for so long that after avoiding them, they can bring their business to the next level. So let's look at those mistakes. I'll see you in the next lesson. Thank you very much. 3. Mistakes to Avoid: No plants means random actions and too busy running a business or just thinking about it, how to grow it, but not doing anything about trying one failed idea after another. Your marketing plan, either on the post-it notes or in your head. You have been trying to make a sale, but without a plan, you really don't know what works and what does not work. So you cannot even make a decision what to do. You're trying too many things too quickly and making lots of mistakes. That you waste your money, you waste your time and your waist, your efforts. And now you're doing just what does not work. Many business owners has been putting in lots and lots of efforts and work, but not seeing the results that matches that amount of work they put. I'm making excuses in terms of like not doing anything to grow it is that I don't have time to market my business. Or some of them say that I don't even like marketing. I don't know how to do it. Some of them out there relying on one or two sources are two ways to bring your business. And it's just not working for them. Some of them keeping a bad or no record at all for their customers and prospects. They don't even know what is what and who is who. They just keep on selling to whom silver comes to their door. Solve that. They have just not even tried anything. It just hoping business to run the way it is running. Just keep on doing exactly the same thing. One day can haunt you back one day your business can go highway. Now mind you if you're doing the same thing, you will see the same results. So many business owners out there that just relying on the same practices, does they have been just doing exactly the same thing they have being seeing the same results. And that is why they don't grow. So what is that? What is the best way to grow and what is the best way to go towards the success. And that is by establishing your marketing plan. Now, I'll give you a very generic outlook of a marketing plan in next lesson. Let's see what is marketing plan and what is that we can do to avoid those damages are mistakes which spoke about. So I'll see you next lesson. I will talk about marketing plan. Thank you very much. 4. Marketing Plan- Simplified: All right, welcome to your next lesson. So marketing plan. Marketing plan tells you how you're going to market your business. It's the deserts of everything you have already thought about, already decided, or maybe have a team meetings and spoke about it. Now it's your promise to put it on paper. It's the way to get where you want. But in writing, what difference does it make? Many small business owners spends most of their time doing things, but they never plan things. You may have an idea in your head, but you haven't written down yet on the paper. If you want to market your business, you have to get out there and make things happen. And marketing plan is part of that. This is the reality of the world. Otherwise, if you don't do these things, someone will overpass you tomorrow. So it is important that you do what is right. Either you can wait, waste a lot of money, time doing the wrong thing, the wrong way, and still it won't work. Or else you can just look at it and point this out that you have to do it. And you come up with a simple marketing plan for your business or help someone else to do it. So just stick into these basics. What we're going to talk about, we'll keep you on track. You can try out these strategies and see if anything is working in your favor. Now let's talk about why it is important to know what your marketing plan is. But first we need to know what we are selling. What is basically that we have that client are going to come to us. Now let's look at why it is important. What do we need to know? It's important to be clear about your own products. You know what you're selling, what you're giving to customer in exchange for their money. That depends on how well you talk about to your customer about your products. It will also depend on how well you know your products, which is basically, in other words, we call product knowledge. Many people have heard of him. So knowing your product is important, but only when you know what is their products and services and how they work. That's makes people rely and be confident about your product. Have you ever decided not to buy from someone because they were too hard to understand or maybe they have so many options that you just could not get it. Which one is right, which one is wrong? That is how it is. You need to be clear about what you're selling and you need to know what is your best products and what is your least important. That there's a huge market out there, the choices and also it's very convenient for anybody to just step out and try something out. If anybody else out there knows that their products better than you, obviously they will look for that. So what is the best way to do your business? So what we have to do is first we need to understand who we are, what we do, what we sell, and where we want to go. Marketing plan does help you to do that. This plan also tells you how much you will spend on your efforts, on your money, and who you are trying to reach, where they're coming from, what draws them to your business. There is a lot of things you can learn every single day. Try to go out there, find out as much as you can on daily basis and start putting in writing. The most important thing is to focus on one thing at one time. But make sure your business has a niche. Now what is niche? That's your expertise and what you also have a niche market, which is basically a set of people who you going to go after. Something. We need to discuss. Having your own name, your brand, your slogan, anything can help you to stand out from the crowd. So the first step is to find your niche. Now let's look at, in the next lesson, what does that niche and means? So I'll see you next lesson and we'll talk about more in detail. So thank you very much. 5. Niche Defined: Alright, welcome to your next lesson. Let's see what does the word niche really needs? Niche marketing means focusing on a small group of possible clients. Niche marketing means focusing on a small group of customer. A customer who may have a need of same interests or same thing. It could be also based on the income bracket. It could be also based on different traits. Your ethnicity, they know where they are coming from, what is their background, would also be the way for Abby to set up a business which appeals to a small group or customer who have a specific need or any problem. Now there are some question about how important is to have a specific target audience. But I'll give you an example. You know that if eagle goes off to two bunnies, and that is again at the same time, she won't get either of one of them. As you can see, this one. You might be able to corner a specific market niche. And really, you could also choose a specific target of population and target and increase your presence over there, uh, being there and being the best in your field one day you have a chance to name yourself and his expert. Today's date you have so many brands you go out there if you want to think of electronics, you may go to Sony TVs or you may go to Playstations for the video games. So this is exactly what I mean. You have to be, have a presence and what you have to have your own time till you find. Now, if you have your own business and you're listening to this, try to narrow and find that niche for yourself. It will make a difference. If you have not thought of it, start thinking of it. You will see the results. If you keep on doing the same thing, then you won't see the results. You will see exactly the same results. And one day the day competition comes to your market, you will definitely see the damage. So having a niche market in that group of people and going out there over and over again and telling them what you have to offer will attract them towards you. So when we do is try a few things, then say, oh, that did not work. Now you can't see them until you have been trying out them again and again. So it's always takes time whether you are up, you're doing a Facebook ads, google AdWords or anything you name it, it will take time. So just to give you an example of any YouTube channel or YouTube influencer, those who are big names nowadays, they have taken their time to get where they work. It does not just happen in one day. So all in all your niche, you're narrowing your niche, finding your niche market. That is very important. What you need to keep going after the same people. So that one day they will go after you and they will come to you and buy your products. If you have a flyer on your door, if you see it once first time it goes in the garbage, second time it's again goes in the garbage third time it catches your attention. For time they keep it on the table fifth, and they may pick up the phone and call you. So that is how the businesses went around. Any sales process, five to six attempts has to be there. Everyone you know how and how well you do. What you do. That is exactly when they will know what you do. So I hope that was helpful. Next lesson, let's find out what is vision. While we will set up a vision so that we know where we're going after and how are we going up. So let's look at the vision is less lesson. I'll see you there. Thank you very much. 6. Vision - The Power of Imagination: All right, Welcome to the next lesson. Let's see if you can help me to define a vision. When was the last time you had a vision? You visualizing the future. You have idealized vision of your life that you imagine of yourself. We accompany using your five senses, are thinking about something which will be there in the future. Could be a region. Consider what if immersing yourself in the world of imagination, that company where it will be tomorrow, with a specific timelines with the help of where you want to get, what you want to get. It's like a similar, like a daydreaming about your ideal vacation spot. If you're going there, e.g. three months down the line, you have been planning your ideal vacation. Even from today. You will be in Paris, new York, wherever you want to go. It's a poverty of imagination. It's like a planting a seed in your mind that will eventually bear fruits. If you take care of it, if inheritance it and nurture it, just take care of it. It's widely and nourishing that and getting to all of that. Now you can see if you feature would be envisioning your way towards your success. So go ahead and see for yourself, examine the future. You and your teammates will both benefit from this and will you will be able to articulate it together. Set a goal. Everyone needs a goal. You know, it's, it's a kind of like describing a future view by discussing those goals and having that vision. Let's say you're going uphill. I know you know, the spot you have taken that you've seen in the picture, now you, in imagining it and now you're going after it. Being extremely clear about where you're going and what your goal is, it'll will strengthen your derived to possibly go throughout that journey and then get to that vision and the end goal. Create a clear and exciting vision in your head that he can share with others. If someone comes to you, let's say join your company tomorrow, you can have it on a piece of paper or explain this and they know where you're going. As a result, having a clear and critical vision would be very helpful. Getting out of bed in the morning can be a significant If you're planning that day and how effective your day going. So the question is, how do you put your vision to use? You already know what to do. When you have a specific objective in mind. It could be inspiration for you and your teams. A strategic planning meaning could be a great starting point. Outline your goal and inspiring your teams to go towards it through that marketing plan we discussed. As we previously discussed, the strategic action plan you create should be based on goals and objectives. And you have set for yourself and your team. It should also have a way to evolve in the future. It's not just reading the vision and that's it. It's not that you just have a virgin and now you want to get there. No, it must be something that evolves along with the time. There is no end goal. It's simply changing over time. But if you make it there, you will have accomplished something. Now your marketing strategy, your marketing plan, which we briefly discussed in the last lessons. It's a part of that, that how you want to go after this vision by following that marketing plan. It will be a part of your overall business plan. God, by your company vision, which is most important step that you must take is to achieve that goal and the effectiveness of the company by that putting that marketing efforts and going after that. There's a lot of new directors seals out their pay. They just do the marketing plan once a year. The next time they look at it. That is only after a year when they have to just put this out there. Other words, it's just lying in the drivers. Now, do you think that that marketing plan, what I'm explaining these people or whom I'm referring to, does it has any use of it? That is not what you're going to do. That's not the marketing plan you are going to do. The marketing plan you're going to do is which you will look at yearly, quarterly, monthly. And also every time you want to reflect on who should come up with the plan. Every single month, every single year, every single quarter, you need to take a look at it. You have to evaluate it, see what needs to be enhanced and you know what to work on. This is how you carry your vision. You create your own vision. In the following lesson, we will look at it. What is customer feedback? One of the traditional method of feedback that we can still use it today with P, but most of people has forgotten. And how you can use all of these advantages, get the best result out of it. I'll see you and explain this to you in next lesson. So thank you very much. See you next lesson. 7. Customers Feedback - Tips and Tricks: Alright, I would like to welcome you to the next lesson is the customer feedback. So first and foremost, feedback is a gift. Consider every piece of feedback from a customer to be a gift. Some people take positive feedback very well and constructively what when it comes to negative feedback, they become very defensive. So feedback is always a gift, whether it is a positive or negative. Now how do you get a feedback? Now, getting feedback can be done in a variety of ways. The first step is to take your feedback based on your product lines, the least popular products and the most popular products, and differentiate them. So the next time they don't have to, or in fact, you don't have to spend money on these popular products. Now these bean bags are coming to you indirectly. So next time when you spend money, you don't have to spend it on the least popular products. And when you go back to the customer by investing on the right quantity and quality and type of products you can actually satisfy your customer. Return customer. You automatically have a customer coming back to you for the same products. If they're not telling you, but they keep on buying your shelves are getting empty. Thing is really working so that you can invest on the right things. Complaints, verbal commands, while people are shopping around, discussing, you're observing them or writing on the social media. There anything you've been doing, not complaining, you're still picking up on that. Speaking with the customers when they come to you store, it could be any additional avenue for you to seek feedback, requests, feedback from them. That phrase letter also in previous lesson, that send them a letter of appreciation, packing them of your business. Thanks for visiting you and asking for the feedback. It'll be greatly appreciated. You should also look at what you're trying to accomplish with these feedback. You have to have a plan. They also need to know that you, their feedback will be rewarded in some way. Like, you know, you're not just going to take it and forget about them. You will work on this and then you'll return to them and inform them and tell them. Say, hey, listen, you gave us a feedback. Thank you so very much. We have worked on this and this is this thing that has been evolved. And please come and try this again. So look at the impact of it. They will highly appreciate it. Now, this is exactly going to blow them up with that, you not only just asked for feedback, but you also took the time to tell them. They imagine the impression you will make on the customer. That customer will never forget to you. So he understand that you did not only just seek feedback, but after evaluating and working on it, you return to them the tag them. That cannot achieve in any other companies. Those who are not putting an effort for their customer satisfaction. This simple, very basic things once followed make a huge difference. But not every business owner is up for it. They're so busy doing the same thing. They believe it's a waste of time. But let me tell you Not at all. This is not a waste of time. So in the next lesson, let's look at what we need to do and what your assignment is, how that you are looking at this, we have done this course. So let's see what do you need to do and how can you put this to work? And I'll explain more in detail to say what you need to do to get that going. So thank you so very much. I'll see you in the assignment class. 8. The Lesson you don't want to miss: The things that are getting excited, okay, in this lesson, we'll talk about your assignment. And it's the goal that we have to accomplish a simple marketing strategy or a marketing plan for a small business. Now, you can use five to six steps strategies. I'll also think of some marketing question that I'll talk about in this next few minutes to help you take this point of view to any other business out there or to apply to your own business if you have one and finish this assignment and see if you have found something which is new other than what you were already doing. If couple of things add onto it. I think half an hour you have spent with me is what your time. Why asking this question? You'll have to go through some of the modules before you go to the assignment. So make sure you watch the next module before you jump into the sign. After which, you should be able to come up with any comprehensive marketing plan, as I mentioned in my last class, for any company, your business, or any business out there. Very crucial if you don't have a business, who do any other business or your friends or family's business maybe. And asked them who they are, what they do, what they hope to achieve, what are their plans for the future, for their business? And trust me, you will be rise that not everybody out there will have to answer your questions. Now, don't be surprised if you have someone who does not have an answer to your questions. Don't be surprised if someone don't even know what is the niche market. Don't be surprised that they have never, ever attempted to go out there and market to a certain demographic. They were just marketing through any channels in certain areas, no matter who is living in that area. So if they have a specialty, what is that special? What is that? We need to now go out there and which market we want to target. You will see again surprises. There won't be many places, are many areas you will have to The blind and you will see that people have no clue, no idea. Now those who go off topic while talking with them, obviously, they are not interested. Are they saying No, no, we're comfortable where we are. We don't have answers to that. It's just closing those doors of not prime. Yes. The business is running great. Fine. We don't have to do anything. Probably today's date, but it can be possibility that tomorrow someone will come into competition. Business may not run the same way. So any answer they give you, after you ask them, you need to ask them that. Have they ever tried to narrow and focus and build their business around a niche? If they don't have tried to help them traditional themselves and self apart from the competition. And ask them, What is that important or what is the market we should target to acquire so that the business can go to the next level. Now, why is giving them that marketing message or coming up with the catchy strategy or any slogan or any logo, you can help them. Please do so and try this out. Put this into the paper. But this is in a form of marketing with going through all these topics and see this go to the form. Take a look at the form and you will understand that these questions when you ask them, it'll give you a very good idea that if this business is running properly or is just running the way, it has been for quite some time and there is no structure to it. Now we are talking about the logo, the brand, that growth with how much you can do to identify yourself. Find out if they have one. If you don't have one, you know, suggest to have one. Don't be shy. Salesperson or business owners when it comes to these things, you have to open up. Let's go out there and do it. No matter what what would happen. Or what we will do is basically helping someone or your own business to do that. Now, another business also going out there and break the ice. And so they have to attend this networking events sometime, sometime part, sometime even offering a flavor to a school, let's say UP or a food and beverage to just go there and do that and have a big hype of it. But people are not comfortable with it. But what do we need to do? We need to have someone doing it for them. If it's not, your area of expertise, should go out there and do it anyway, because it will help you to grow as a person as well. This class is not about just business. This class is also the time. It is also about your personal development as an individual, as a salesperson, as a business owner, anything you name it. So just go out there and do it. You will enjoy the experience. If you can put it out there in this project sheet, submit the project. And what I would do is I will choose a couple of projects and whom I am very impressed with. Then I will come up with a small streamed marketing plan for those business. Totally free. If you have a project, they're submitted properly. I can come up with a small marketing plan and setback. Ask the question, but first, ask them if you can. Ask them if they have the budget set forth. These are very sensitive question, but you need to make sure that who you're talking to you and what you're asking, just be cautious. But if it's your own business, then say who you are, what you do, what you want, what is your ultimate goal? Have you find the niche? Ever? Have any branding done for any ambassador or any advertisement that obviously now we have a reasoning to see what you want to suggest to them. You know, across those questions on the farm, you know what to suggest to them. Now, you will know that what exactly they need to hear from you and then go through these lessons from the beginning and try to apply these suggestions and strategies and see if it helps them or it helps you as a business owner, or if you're listening to it. Now you're ready to make your own marketing plan. Look at that. You know, based on these things. There are lots of other, other basically criteria like budgets. How much money they have, how much money they would like to spend their comfortable as these tough questions because end of the day, I mean, you need to know what they really are standing here in order to make money. Sometimes we have to spend money. Are they spending money or not? Not everyone is going to give you that answers. But if you don't ask, how would you know, right? So ask yourself, if you're a business owner as someone else, if you're helping someone come up with this project submitted. And let's look at it and then say, let's see how we can make of marketing and coming up with the marketing plan. I'll see you next class. We're going to speak about brand marketing. That's the last best for the last, my title is best for the last brand marketing. And brand marketing will basically be our last lesson. After that, we will wrap it up. With that note. I would like to say thank you, and I'll see you in the next class. 9. Best at Last- Brand Marketing Secrets : This lesson is all about in the context of clients. You should ask questions about how they learn about your company, the details over a set period of time. We'll give you some feedback, some results out of it. You promotion can be run through a limited number of marketing channel. And you can see MNC results. You're not to go through each and everything to run a promotion or else you can use all the channels and see what is working for you. And then you can streamline what is working and what is not working. Especially in the beginning. If you are trying so many marketing initiative and none of them are working, you need to understand that these things sometimes takes time. Thanks several methods, several systems are several avenues at the same time can also be useful. And you can see which one is working, which one is not, and then you can streamline them. A one those who are working. But why do we need a lot of money to do that? And your own, sometime they are doing so many things together. You don't even know which one to focus and what are the results and where it is coming from, because you really cannot see the results, the Avenue of the results. But if you're using, let's say two promotions, then you are saying business going to the next level, then you know that this is working. So I would advise to take a couple of things at a time and see what is going in your favor. Now. You old method, but very effective, Let's say email marketing. It is the most effective way of marketing to anybody. Now, mind you, you need a database for that. But at the same time, I'll also give you an example of what is the best way to gain database that will come at the end of this class. Now, you will have to understand how to track your collection. You have to establish all these connection. You have to have a database so that when you are running a promotion, you know where to send the most instead of just putting it out there. Imagine I'm your blind, I have been into your shop like let's say 56 times where I've been buying the online store are coming to your barbershop or could be anything. And there is a promotion out there, but I got to hear this from someone else. How would you feel? So keep track of how many connections you have already established. First, send these promotion to them. Spending money to have this either letters, sand of pliers and your repeat plaques, their business referrals or references. And when they speak to someone that can also help you network out there and get the best as you go out there, advertise yourself. Streamline this to the people, those who are already buying from you and see what is the best way to get back to them. So email marketing works really well for that. Apply the same strategy for any networking events taking apart, if you go there, you talked to them, try to exchange cards, get the database, put it in your system, promotion is there Senate of them. You don't have to go to every networking events. Obviously you're running a business. It's not about just network. For some time, you go there, you just show the presence. Or sometime you take part even little more. That brand ambassador we speak about or any sponsorships or freebies or give away. So you need to understand which events you need to be involved and what you need to do so that at least you can leave an impression. Now, if you don't do it, then you will stay where you are. But if you start doing this, all small initiatives, you will see things will evolve very sharply. If not, just go there, have a presence. If you don't want to spend money, just see, at least even if you get cue cards. Now, few numbers are exchanged. As long as it is from your industry or relative to you, you will see some results. Marketing your brand effectively required also the pre and post sales database. Now make sure you take the data. I do advertising so that you can compare later on, some people just say, Oh, how much money we are keeping today or this month? Thousand dollars. Okay. Thousand dollars gone. Marketing is out there. What results? We don't know because we did not keep the records. Do not keep the records. How would you compare? So many people forget to do that and they don't know what is happening. They just keep on spending yesterday, results are coming, the revenue is going up. Always good to keep practicing. What is exactly the ROI? Return on investment? Roi is return on investment means you're investing something. What is the return? We can then compare. Step is to calculate the worst of your current client. Once you have that detailed knowledge of your customer, you may be determined which matter of expanding your business is now most likely is appealing to the demographic you're going after. Now mind you every new client, no matter how big or small they are, their acquisition, retention, and development. When it comes to these initiatives are going after them. You need to make sure you focus on the equal, at least the promotion part. You're giving something to someone. Now you have to go out each and every clients of yours. Give them what is out there. Every new plan, no matter how small they are, they're important because tomorrow they can be also retention. And then go into the development category as we spoke in the first lesson. So don't go by exactly only the attention. Also look at the acquisition as well as development in shorter work. Now, how can we bring the acquisition and retention clients to the development side are now traditional way of branding. There are lots of them out there. And our branding on the buses, the name made those sports venues, cinemas. But after you made your brand and your logo and the slogan we spoke about, It's also important to have that at least out there somewhere in the beginning, especially who needed to identify where you want to advertise. Now, if you're a realtor, e.g. where I come from, Ontario, you there you see the advertisement on the bus station. You don't see anything else but the realtor ads over there. It's a fashion hurts the most people. In order to see your brand, you need to understand where you want to mark it. Most likely there are a lot of different recommendation for you, which I cannot say this here, that what kind of business are you in, what you have to understand and you can choose and started doing some traditional way of marketing as well. There'll be a, so many things you can see coming out of ATP. It's not word of mouth. Some time having to have presses out there. It does help. Everything you used to talk to you about yourself to a public, you will have a brand and now we'll have a logo. You will have identification, you will have something to say. You will have your vision statement, your slogan or anything, you name it. Because now you're working about branding your products. You have an hour brand. You have now a niche. You have now a logo, you have now a slogan. You have now a vision. Some good way to spread the word out there in a traditional way to make people aware. There are a lot of traditional methods like radio ads, TV ads. Anything you want to do in terms of, let's say advertisement on the buses. All good days used to be. These methods were very popular. Like public transportation, sports when cinema adds. Other than that, some banners on some highway. Now mind you they are very expensive. We have advertising. Is there still exists even today. But these are expensive. They are very, very expensive to do this because this needs a lot of labor costs, a lot of manpower to do these things. That's why they become expensive. But in nowadays in the social media world, people are tend to forget it, forget that. But if you happen to do that and if you can afford it, then you will absolutely stand out somehow. You will start to build that brand. Now if you're a very small business, you may probably don't have to worry about it. Number two is take advantage of social media demographic like Google AdWords, Facebook ads, instagram ads, Nowadays, thick pockets, anything you can do. A lot of other ways, but the best way to stand out, I'll give you an example. If you don't want to do all these traditional way of marketing, or if you want to just do a very limited Canopus spend, but you want to do still have your name out there then you have to think out of the box. Now, let me give you this example and compare this with the business and see if anything like this can be done in your business. Now, it you, if your e-commerce store, if you're selling online, you have a different way of marketing. You don't have a way of marketing probably as much as with this traditional ways, but only sticking to the demographic of social media and all these electronic version of ads. But if you are a physical business, look at this example and compare yourself and see where you stand and if this is something makes sense to you. So let's take this example of hair salon, a new hair saloon, and a city-center wanted to get some attention appointments so they know they can just be out there. Now. They were very new. They will have some competition. So what they did is just to get that database. They know their customer. They invite them to a location competition of a hand salon. And they basically golf certain as team members and they started to give a pretreatment to read the competition and also pretty their clients for free. Now, having to come up with the idea of having a free haircut and also doing a competition within their team. They will absolutely thinking outside the box. Not only that, after that competition, they have had also few giveaways for the clients, those who took part in that and give them a free future and wives to come and do that haircuts. So there was like two to three prizes and rest of them were the discount voucher. A minute. You know how the discount voucher works? Sometime discount voucher is just to attract the results were shown and when they basically got that database, everybody has to fill the form, the details, emails, phone numbers so that they can have their name going to drop. The pre-treatment. They were doing this contest. People have to come obviously fill all the details and vote and. The form. So those who have had the entry form pill, obviously they gave them their database and the permission. The question was there also to invite them for the future promotions and most did answer yes. So entry form has a full list of contact information and they went back and obviously they gave people the prices. And now they have enough database to go out there and send these promotions and vouchers. And they absolutely saw the business going up with the same people, those who not only attended that context, but also spread the word out there on social media. And now more people knows about this alone than before this contest when they did it. How much did that cost them? The people, those who were in the contest, those who are competing for their staff. They gave the pre-treatment, which technically did not cost them anything. They gave some pretty discounts the future basically that brought the business to them all was the attempt to do it. That's the courage to do it. The time spent to do it. Now, obviously that coupon of 20 per cent discount and all these guys, they got the database, probably per cent discount. They gave it to them. They'd made sense, are these customer, but now what happens is people become their regular customers because they keep on coming back for the next time. They did not have the discount. But if you show value to someone, they sometime they appreciate and then become your client. So one contest and the sacrifice of just two to three treatments, break them lots of database. Now, every time there is a promotion, every time there is something they wanted to hand it to them. So this is just an example of what can be done. So if you are a business owner, please do so. Apply it a certain kind of the categories. If you are just learning this for helping someone, please go out there and give them a bit of flourish to have some idea. Study some things, see what works in that market. What we do is basically just give ourselves a chance to do a free marketing, $0 marketing. By doing these Initiative, it costs time and little money. The results are huge. You will see like lots and lots of return on that. So you have to see things, something like this, something out of the box and see if it is working for you and if it does share with me hold on the sheet. Our even a year, two years from now. This is one of the examples I wanted to give you. Just relate it so that if you can relate, please do so and have this story share with someone who you are helping to do this project while you're working on it and see what they have to say. Let's see if they can at least start getting the database. Start working on the number of people, even what you have now, if you only have a database of 102030, people, start with those guys and that will also increase. But have something on books. Just don't run the business without having to have those. This is a world of competition. People tomorrow can come and damage your business. That time. Those who are taking care today will make a difference. So now you know what to do. What you have to do. What is your assignment? I wish you all the best. Please do finish your assignment and I'm hoping that you will submit and join me for the future classes as well. I'll see you in next lesson and we'll wrap it up. Thank you very much. 10.
