1. 1.1 Welcome to Screencasting Zero to Hero: welcome to screen, casting zero to hero, where you will learn all the skills you need to create great videos cheaply and quickly without using a video camera. What is screen casting to screen cast means to record the images on your computer screen while adding a voice over to create a digital video. I'm doing it right now. Screen casting is an easy and shape way to make videos from home without having to use a video camera in this class. I'll teach you everything you need to know to get started and get confident with screen casting so you can go from zero to hero. Here's how the classes organized its toe. Living in five modules, you will learn what screen custody is and why. It's such a good way to make training and tutorial videos and video presentations. You will learn how to choose the best screen casting software for your needs. The importance of audio and how to get set up for great voiceovers had to make test videos and the efficient, repeatable recording process that I used to make all my videos. There's also a workbook with links to software and places to take notes plus a cheat sheet . For quick reference to the best technical sittings for video recording and creation, you can download the workbook and shoot shaped from the resources section of this class. Now, in skill share, you will need to be on a computer. Phillies. You can't access those things from a smart, fine screen. Casting is an excellent method for making tutorials, training videos and recorded presentations. This class focuses on using screen casting software to convince Microsoft Power Point presentations into training videos. But the skills and methods you will learn a equally useful for all types of screen casting video creation. For example, you could pitch ideas, feel startup using screen casts off a powerful peach dick. We deal awesome voice over. He's what you'll need to get started. A laptop or desktop computer and email address and a quiet room that's front. You don't need anything else right now. I will show you how to choose the best software and hardware for your projects as we go through the class. So are you ready? Let's go 2. 2.1 Why Screencast?: welcome to module to at the end of this module, you will have a screen casting app or program on your device. Ready to use. Why Screen cast screen casting is my favorite tool for making online training videos. Why? Because face to camera videos are hard. You need a nice background that spiced camera. By the way, there you need tripods and perfect lighting. You've gotta brush your hair and dress appropriately. You need to memorize your script or set up a teleprompter. It is such a hassle. By comparison, screen casting is easy. Screen casting software is software that allows you to turn the images on your computer screen into a video file. You can record your whole screen, your whole computer screen or just a small area. You can combine your voice with visuals to make a video, then edit the video and then export the content into a video file. We divert software. You can record an entire Microsoft PowerPoint presentation, explaining H slide in your own words without ever having to set up a video camera. In fact, I'm actually doing that right now to make these lesson how Mitya is that 3. 2.2 Finding the right software; comprehensive guide: finding the right software. All screen casting software has the features you need to record a PowerPoint presentation or explain the pages in an operations manual for your learners. Some software comes. We've a large range of features or is easier or harder to use. Screen casting software needs to be downloaded and installed on your device. As far as I'm away, you can't get cloud based, all online screen casting and editing solutions. Yet in this lesson, we will find and choose the right software for you. Here's some things to consider when choosing screen casting software. It needs to be compatible with your device. Mac or Windows. Now most one laptops in terms of processing power have got enough memory and prices in power for recording, editing and processing. Desktops usually have more, but if you're laptop is older than, say, five years, then you might run into problems when editing, processing and exporting your videos. However, these problems are often easily fixed by purchasing an external hard drive and working with your files directly from the drive. If you do have a very old laptop, then I recommend starting with a cheap or free screen casting software so that if you do find your laptop really can't cope with the needs of the subway that you haven't wasted a ton off money. So in terms of ease of use, recording your screen is pretty easy. But editing videos can be difficult, and some software has a steep learning curve. If you're new to video editing, make use of free plans to have a try of different Softwares before committing to a purchase . You also should think about export file types. Shape and free software usually offers only a few different file types. However, for the online training project, this won't be a problem because the most commonly used file types will work on all of the platforms that I recommend in this course. You could also think about cloud based backups. Some screen casting software will back up your project to the cloud automatically as you work, but most do not do this order. Backups could be great if you need to free up space on your device and the awesome for peace of mind as well. News Flash. Stop the presses. I just found out that some online training platforms have recently incorporated power point to voiceover functionality. If you end up using one of those platforms, you might not need to get separate screen casting software. However, this is going to depend on whether you need to do anything other than Power Point. For example, you might want to add other video content to your training course or share your screen as he demonstrates something such as, for example, demonstrating on screen. Hadi is a spreadsheet or a CRM system, but I would height for you to pay for screen casting stuff way that you might not need. So this is what will dough if you only need to convert PowerPoint to video, and you have a very limited budget. You sure to get free screen casting software so that would be open shot O. B s or a free trial of camp ties. Yet we'll talk about those. Surely I only get one of the free ones in this step. Then, after you have chosen an online platform for your material, will do that in Module five. You'll know whether your platform has built in screen casting or not. At that point, if you still need standalone screen casting software, you can come back to this module and choose the right solution for you. Now let's take a look at 10 off. The most widely used screen casting software is there are links to each of these in Chapter 2.2 off the workbook. But before I start throughout this video, I'm going to give you lots of information about screen casting software. I do not receive any commissions or kickbacks for these recommendations. I'm in the business of training, not referrals, So rest assured that my recommendations are 100% unbiased on I'm not in any way meant to benefit May only to help you first up can't. Ezio Kim Tae Z is really popular. It has a reputation for being user friendly, and it includes comprehensive video editing and video enrichment features. On the downside, it's expensive as well as standard features. Camped ese el asi to simultaneously record separate video streams such as your screen in your webcam at the same time and edit them separately. Kim Tacy includes basic editing, like trimming videos and joining videos. It also includes richer options. It has a library of icons and music that you can use royalty. Freight can taste, supports green screen recording, which allows you to remove the background of her face to camera video and replace it with something else. Kim Tae See also allows you to building interactive elements like links, links and quiz. It's, however, it's good to know that some of the online training platforms that I recommend a much of five also have got those features. Kim Tae Z exports to file Times MP for a V I or GIF. It is compatible with Windows and Mac. At the time I made this video came tacy cost approximately 280 U. S. Dollars as a one time fe for up to two devices. There is a free trial option as well, but just night that prices might very accordingly to your region and currency. Next, that will take a look at screen flow. Screen flow is for Mac only. It has similar advantages to kempt a zero, but it's much cheaper in price. There are two different products. If you choose the more expensive product, you have access to a huge library off stock images. Video footage in music at the time of writing the press with screen flow is either 129 U. S. Dollars, or 175 that's been stuck. Maybe a library file types for export include MP for Progress and animated GIF screen flow off his free trial. Next up, his screen custom attic like MTZ, a screen custom attic, is user friendly and feature rich. The advantages are that it's easy to use for beginners. It has good edging features, Ah, low price. And there's a free vision with limited features, too. Screen Custom Attic has a range of collaboration and sharing features so that a team can work on the same video online together, that's pretty cool. It also does automatic cloud back ups and automated speech to text captioning. In terms of editing screen, custom Attic has transitions, image overlays and royalty free background music. In addition to all the usual editing features, however, it does not have multi track editing capability. And that means that although you can capture your screen and webcam footage at same time, if that's what you want today, you can't edit it separately. It can export multiple file types. Screen Custom Medic has subscription pressing, so you always have the most up to date software and pay by the year. There is even a free plan that you can use forever on the free plan. Your video length is limited to 15 minutes, and all videos have a watermark, but it's my favorite free option to get you started quickly. Pay plans study $18 per year, but you can pay extra to have your videos backed up automatically in the cloud. The more expensive plan also includes a media library screen. Custom attic is compatible with Windows and Mac, and it has a separate app for IOS. And there the presses. Next up, I'll introduce open shot. It's completely free, always, which is clinical end. It includes animations, which the other ones have discussed so far. It doesn't I haven't used it myself. But when researching this lesson, I was impressed with the comprehensive and well organized user guides. I also found an excellent learned to edit class that is perfect for beginners and uses open shot on skill share, and you can find a link that class in the resources section of the workbook. So, like I said, open shot has a big range of features, including animations. It is compatible with Windows, Mac and Lennox and it exports in popular file formats. It's definitely with a look screen cast. If I is next, it'll low cost, really basic option. It's only got basic editing features. The free plan allows for videos of up to 10 minutes, and they are watermarked. It is compatible with Mac Windows Line Let Mimics and Chrome OS it only exports in far types. MP for end of the time of recording it cost $24 per year. O. B. S Studio lycopene chart O. B s studio is open source and always fray. It is loved by YouTube content creators and PayPal who create live video content via Facebook events because it allows you to and simple editing features while you were recording rather than afterwards. For example, you can vary the background or at a transition. On the downside, it does not include features for tightening up her recording afterwards, like removing mistakes or any annotations like images. So for that reason, I don't recommend it for creating online training videos. Having said that, I've used it myself to make screen capture videos on a tablet, and it works pretty well. I chose it because I didn't want to pay for a second software license at the time, and I wanted something I could use My tablet. I found it pretty easy to use. RBS is not suitable for Mac ice cream screen recorder. It's another tool. It offers basic recording and editing features. It's said to be easy to use and is low priced and free. They're free plan lets you create videos upto only five minutes in length and has limited file types for exporting You're Finished video. Whereas the pay plan supports longer videos on multiple file formats, it's compatible with both Windows and Mac, and it currently costs $30 for a one time purchase. Quick time player and I'm movie thes stuff Way is free, but it's only available for Mac. It has basic screen recording and editing features. There are only limited file types for export, and it's possible that videos made with this software might not play correctly for some of your learners. So I wouldn't recommend to using the's for you online training project down to the final to have group the last ones together because they've got similar benefits and downsides. I'm going to talk about Adobe Premiere Pro and Apple Final Cut Pro X. They're both significantly more expensive than the other software I've introduced, but they have many more features more than you actually might want for this project, I'm going to say, unless your company already owned the license for this software and maybe even then, I don't recommend you start your video editing Jenny with either a vase. They are harder to learn and might make your video editing steps more frustrating than they would be with the more basic its screen cast options that I just described. So they're really full of the prize. Apple Final Cut Pro does have have afraid trial. So that's kind of good. Look, I've got a site. There's a two that you probably want to come back to you when you're a video editing price . Probably don't start with these now. Last but not least, Microsoft PowerPoint. It's not screen casting software, but it does have built in recording features, so you can record your videos of your presentation from directly weeding PowerPoint software. So it's another free option. Assuming you already have the PowerPoint software. However, the obvious limitation is he won't be out to do anything other than PowerPoint. I found it awkward to record because the nights reader pain is absolutely tiny, and I'm used to editing audio with a visual representation of the audio track. So I found editing quite awkward because of the way the timing so organized. But it's another when to concede that it's obviously free if you already got suffer. So to summarize, I use screen custom etiquette home, and it does everything I need anymore for a really reasonable annual price. I started with the free vision, and that was a really good, low risk way to try my hand at screen casting and editing without having to make a financial commitment. However, if I was standing again are we definitely have a look? A open shot, which is free forever and has multi track editing, which is liking and screen custom attic. They're in links to purchase or download all the software I have mentioned in the White Book. So do this now cheese your software, sign up for the free trial, download the software and set it up on your device. All screen casting tools have lots of tutorials available. I recommend watching or raining at least a few startup and beginning tutorials to get you started. And it's good to know that sometimes the best beginner friendly tutorials are made by independent YouTubers rather than by the software makers themselves, who are occasionally a little too close to their topic. And if you choose open shot, you can check out the free editing course on skill share that I mentioned earlier again, you can find that in the resource of section at the end of the workbook. 4. 3.1 The importance of audio: Welcome to Module three, where you'll learn all about audio and how to choose and set up the perfect microphone for your screen casting project. At the end of this module, you'll have a microphone set up for professional quality audio. Let's talk audio. In order to create voiceover for your videos, you won't need to use the microphone. Don't be tempted to use their computers built in micro. Fine. They're not good enough for this project. Clear, High quality audio is important when making online training videos, as learners will find it difficult to concentrate if the audio is poor quality. Remember, you won't be there in person to help if they can't understand you properly, Most experts recommend that you use the best microphone that you can afford. There are three basic types of microphones. Video creation, shotgun handheld and wearable Mike's and distort monks. Each of these tons has distinct characteristics, which give them an advantage for surgeon video production. Neitz. Let's talk Shaq down microphones. They're attached directly to and ride shotgun on top of a camera. If you have access to a video camera, will be investing in one for face to face filming, then a shotgun microphone could be a good option, but because they're designed to be plant into a camera, they not necessarily going to be at a point. Plug directly into a computer for screen capture videos. So you're going to need to check both E ports on your computer and the specs on the microphone before purchasing one of these to be sure that it will work directly with your computer. If you're not planning to film using a camera and are only going to record screen capture video, then you probably shouldn't get a shotgun microphone hand held in wearable microphones. Microphones that are held in your hand, attached to your lapel clothing or worn on your head. Ah, like shotgun mikes. Good options. If you plan to record any face to camera for Detroit for your videos, they're available in both corded and Cordless violist options. Wireless visions can be expensive because they need a receiver unless you really need the while. Assumption. Don't get a wireless one. You will get better quality audio for the same money from a wide vision plus C wanting to worry about batteries. Handheld lapel mikes, which have probably called love Elia microphones are not the best options if you only plan to record screen capture videos. Ah, handheld mic is awkward. If you're trying to record just grain, it's much easier if you have both Hands. Spray and lapel mikes can pick up crackling noises from your clothes if you move on the recording. Love Elia's are great. If you plan to do video demonstrations, feel online training material because they allow you to demonstrate stuff. Hands free. Remember, though, that they're not designed to pick up any sounds other than your voice. So if you need to capture sounds from the environment when you're doing a demonstration video, then maybe you need to choose a shotgun mike instead. So handheld and lapel microphones are not the best with screen casting, however, the other type of wearable microphone. The headset is an excellent choice. With screen capture videos, headsets have both. If fines, speakers and a microphone. They allow your hands three free and provide an easy way to make sure that your mouth is a consistent distance from the mic. They have the advantage of having built in speakers, too, so their housemaids off family members don't have to listen to the sound of your videos over and over while you're editing next, that will take a look. A desktop. Mike's desktop microphones provide great audio quality while still being relatively budget friendly. They can be more comfortable to use for long recording sessions compared to a headset, which can get a little bit hot and uncomfortable over your ease after a while. On the downside, they take more time to set up correctly and a little bit more practice to use compared to a heads it for the best audio quality in need to have your mouth this same distance from any Mike all the time. And that's a little bit harder to do with the desktop, then with a headset microphone. Which Mike are you going to trees? In summary, the best types of Mike the screen capture video creation. A desktop or headset mikes choose one that can reduce background noise and static. A USB microphone will connect straight into the U. S. B point on your computer, and that is the most convenient. So go to your workbook now and make a night. What do you want? The few Jesus of this Mike to bay so whether you might want to use it for a face to camera recording off to film demonstrations, for example, adding any nights about your workspace considerations. For example, do you need a really compact microphone? Or if there is a lot of outside noise, maybe want to have a microphone, find that it's going to be very close to your face, maybe headset mic, and then do some shopping around making note of your chosen mike. Plus it's price. And put that into the workbook in section 3.1. Here is in terms that you need to know when choosing a mike. There are only directional mikes. They capture sounds from all sides equally, and they work equally well whether they are upside down or right side up. Bi directional microphones picks up sound well from the front and the back of the microphone, but very little from the sides. These work well for headphone market fines for speaking purposes by the external mikes don't pick up noise from the sides of the mikes, so only the speaker's voice is going to get picked up. Cardio micro fines of microphones that pick up sounds from the front and the side, not the re. Some microphones could be set to different mode, so you can actually switch between, for example, Caddy oId and Omni directional months. Now, if you budgets a really tired or you don't have time to go out and get a new purchase, you could try using Weide. Bands were the built in mic, the type that might come in the smartphone. Some brands of these might be good enough to get a decent result, but you need to test them out tonight for sure. Now it's time to learn to use your like once you've purchased your microphone, takes some time to learn how to use it and any special settings that might have. Make sure you know which positioning works best for your microphone. Some need to be addressed from the side, some from the top. Some Mike's work fine upside down, suspended from a boom arm. We'll discuss that a bit more in module for, and some Mike's need to be upright. Spending the time now to learn your mike will save the hassles later, when you're trying to record your videos 5. 3.2 Simple set ups that work at home: simple set ups at work at home. In this lesson, I'll show you some simple set ups at wake up time, plus how to manage background noise. This is one set up that works well. Distort Mike friend mounted in front of your laptop. An alternative set up that allows more flexibility with body positioning and posture is to mount your microphone on a boom. But it's a little harder to set up, and it needs an extra piece of equipment. Obviously, the boom headsets of the easiest mark friends set up and require the least amount of space . Just pop them on the head. You don't even need a desk managing background noise. You should aim to keep the background noise to a minimum when you're recording, as it will distract your learners and can interfere with the computer algorithms that level out Sounds on. Adjust volume during audio editing. Obviously in need a relatively quiet room for recording, but dance with the environment too much. I recorded a desk in the corner of a living area in my house near a big window. There are birds, parrots, traffic, all making noises outside, but the quality of my audio is acceptable for online teaching. Well, at least I hope you think so, too. So don't worry about it too much. The most important thing about your space is that it isn't too echoey. So if the sound of your voice is echoing off walls and other heart services, the audio quality is not gonna sound so good. Rooms with lots of hard surfaces like tiles, wooden furniture, glass windows, big anti spaces will be the worst for this. Spaces with soft furnishings, curtains, rugs, carpets give you a softer enlist echoey sound. If you're desperate, you could try spreading blankets, sleeping bags or pillars around the spice While you're recording, you're going to want to turn off fans a conditions and noisy refrigerators while you're recording. By the way, if you turn off your fridge like I do, put something that you really need inside it, so that you're going to remember to turn it back on, close all the windows and doors of your room before you start recording. Inform adults and all the kids of your intention to record and maybe had a sign on the door so they don't accidentally bunch in an interrupt. If you've got small Children in your household, you might need to white until they're asleep. 6. 3.3 Your voice, your style: your voice. Your style speaking into a microphone can be daunting if you're not used to it, and it can make your performance and a little bit stilted and wooden. If you nervous to overcome Venus, do some warm ups before you start recording, jiggle around spink, dance and sing. Imagine that one or two learners of right in the room with you inspected them directly. This helps you in two ways. One. You're more likely to choose words and phrases that sound natural and to win speaking to people, your voice naturally changes peach and speed, which can make your voice and more engaging to listen to you. If you don't wait on Luna's noting off, if you're reading from a script rather than speaking from bullet points in your notes are on the scream. Then the script should be written by you and in your voice. Try to create script to sound like you're speaking at emphasis smarts to the scripts, such as bold or underlined words that you would say with emphasis of real life. The emphasis marks will remind you the use of oyster accentuate important points. Recording a voice will always turn it down and make it seem less dynamic. So I'm going to speak in my normal voice now. So make a conscious effort to overdo it. Speaking your most extroverted, excitable style. Now I'll go back to my recording voice on. Hopefully you can hear the difference. Recording your voice will always turn it down and make it seem less dynamic, so make a conscious effort to overdo it. Speak in your most extroverted, excitable style, as if you're meeting someone for the first time in a noisy party in a garden at night. If you are really highlighting the sound of your voice in recordings, you could try these. Seek out some voice training classes on your favorite, a learning marketplace or YouTube. 7. 3.4 Bonus lesson; my secret (free) way to clean up 'dirty' audio: bonus. Listen, how to clean up your audio. My favorite free app for video making is an online automated video post production service called Al Phonic. I ran all my finished videos through its system, plus computer algorithms to the audio that level out. The volume of all the sounds within your video allows you to set a target volume so that your videos have exactly the same loudness and removes the low frequencies, unwanted noise and hum from your audio. It can also do other fancy stuff, like importing from an exporting videos directly toe online services like Google Drive, Dropbox, Ammons Honest three. And you can publish directly to Facebook and YouTube automatically and speech, audio interests and outrage. 20 videos for me being able to know that all my videos are the same, loudness is just wonderful because sometimes it's months between recording sessions for me , and I'm never quite sure that I've got my input settings correct. When I start a new session, even better, you don't need to download or install any software. It's 100% online. Let's take a look at our funding now and remember that the best setting sprayer funding can be found in chapter 4.7 of the workbook, so there's no need to take any nights. Okay, so he's out. Phonic. I've set up my own account without funny. You can say I'm logged in here and then can actually see that I've bean processing some of the training material from this course while I've been working today. So to start a new production what you dio click on new production. I use a video. Praise it, That noise, all the settings that I like to use. You start by choosing a file, press there and you upload the video file that you just recorded. Then you don't worry about any of this stuff. How much is an output file? So normally I would choose a video output file, the other ones that audio podcasts and things. You can add a file name suffix. Now that's really handy. So if you put so something like this, then those words will. Those letters will end up in the end of every file name, and you can figure out which ones are being pressed by a funny cannot love that feature you can published or an external service. So I published directly to a private YouTube channel and that works is a bit of a cloud. Backup may love that, and then you can set your settings. He's these adaptive leveller levels out the audio sounds with in your audio with new video file. So there's none that it to land and none that too soft next one, the landless normalization that is really decayed. So that means that every single video that you make the run through he is gonna have exactly the same volume. You know how frustrating it easily be watching YouTube or other online stuff. If the video is the volume changes from video video so frustrating. So this will solve that problem for your learners. Lovett. The recommended sitting is minus 16 loves. You can use filtering and so that will fill, tout, filter out really need low pitch sounds and noise and harm reduction. Now some of the experts will say, don't uses unless you've got a noticeable problem in your audio, but the speakers. I use that right good and so I don't know how bad it is. I often choose it if you choose it. You don't need to choose how much to reduce by an auto. It seems to work well for me that's sitting that you really need to cite Grammy. And then once you've done that, you've chosen or your settings. You press, start production and are funny. Cool. Upload your video, shoot a cloud you would do well. It's processing, and it will send you a little notification. When it's done, you can download it back to your liquid vice. So that's a phonic. Like I said, I love it. He does add another step to making videos, so you know you're going to be carrying. You can definitely skip it, but I like knowing that my audio is gonna sound better than it did when I recorded it, which is great. 8. 4.1 Getting started; lets make a test video: Welcome to Module four. In the previous modules, you got screen casting stuff way and a micro fine. It's time to try them out now by making some test videos in this module. First will make some random test videos that is off anything on your screen we've and without audio. After that, we'll make some test recordings of a minnow two of your actual training material, and we'll try some basic editing. After that, I'll teach you how to export and compress files. We'll discuss the best settings and went to compress video files. If you're new to video creation, this testing and rehearsal step is going to come with a steep learning curve. Allow plenty of time to get comfortable with the process of recording your screen and speaking into a microphone at the same time. At the end of this module, you will bake confident in control and ready to record 9. 4.2 Workspace dos and don'ts: workspace, Do's and Dont's. We talked briefly in the previous module about the acoustic properties of your workspace. There was some other factors to consider, too. Recording and editing video takes time, lots of time. All of that time it requires you to be looking at your screen, which makes the press is pretty tough on your neck, back and eyes. If you use a laptop and a desk mike, you will find yourself hunting so much that you might end up looking like Gollum from Lord of the Rings after a recording session. No, not that one. More like that one. If you possibly can use a desktop computer or plug your laptop into a separate keyboard and monitor. SE Joo monitors say that it is at eye level and your keyboard and mouse it. Elber hut. An upright posture with relaxed shoulder will make your voice sound better as they re plaintive and moving into and out of your lungs. He is what that would look like. There's a copy of this image in your workbook to if you have lots of noise coming from outside and need to speak with your mouth close to the microphone to reduce the impact of the noise. Consider getting a suspension boom arm for your microphone, so the composition it close to your mouth without having to hunch over boom arms. Claim to your desk and suspend your mic for in your face. Allowing for good economics will also freeing up space on your desk top. When not in use, they can be folded out of the way. It can be challenging to see your screen and your notes while being close to a microphone and while avoiding hunching over. So try some different setups until you find one that you're really comfortable with. Do's and dont's do wear something comfortable. Pajamas a. Fine. Do you use a sit stand disk if you can, as it will keep you feeling fresher for longer? Been recording and editing? Do you make sure you have a cleave you off your screen and can easily Rachel mess without leaning hunching or holding your arm awkwardly? Do you say where of your posture when you're recording, keep your shoulders relaxed and your back straight? Do you take frequent breaks to stand up? Walk around stretch. Do choose your space carefully for best audio do place your microphone a little distance from the computer so that it doesn't pick up the sound of the computer fan. Do sit up in an area where you can leave everything set up is absolutely possible. It makes it so much easier to get started the next day if you don't have to set up everything from scratch each time, Do protect your equipment from pets and Children. And don't worry too much about outside noise. Minimize that were possible. But don't let it become an excuse to stop recording. You might be surprised by how little ends up in your final video. 10. 4.3 To script or not to script (that is the question)...: to script or not to script. That is the question. If your current training material already has a script, great go for it. If not, and if you're familiar with the content and practiced it, delivering the training, I suggest you do not use a script. Scripts take time to write, and our aim here is to get your material online fast, right? It's difficult to write a good script that sounds natural wind right out loud. On the other hand, it's easy to go off track and start rambling when you don't have a script to work with. Tight, fast paced video content can really benefit from a tightly edited script. Some people feel more comfortable if they have a script to read from. Others prefer not to have to rate while they're operating the visuals on screen. So should you use the script, there is no right answer. It all depends on you when the scripted or not, you should definitely have some reason points to keep you on track so you don't forget any content. Often these will be points that are already present in your PowerPoint slides or other training material. If not, then I strongly sort suggest that you write some nights to follow. Unless you have two screens or two devices, your notes will need to be on paper because, of course, you will be recording your screen. 11. 4.4 Pressing record for the first time: pressing record for the first time. By now, we have screen casting, software and microphone all set up, plus, um, notes or a script. It's time to press record and make a test video. To make a test video, open your screen casting software. Plug in your microphone and turn it on. Press record on your screen casting software. Speak. Clap your hands and use your mouth and keep had to perform some actions on your screen. Then stop recording and play back what you just recorded. Check out how it sounds and looks. Adjust if he need and rip. Eight. The process tips for great audio. Don't move or touch the disk or you're here or face where you speak as the vibrations might be picked up on the microphone, avoid jangly jewelry. Keep your mouth and equal distance from your microphone at all times. For most micro fines, Kweisi is better for reducing background noises. Speak with your voice. Pitched a little lower than you would win talking face to face. This can give you a more authority of time and help offset any sound problems caused by lower quality microphones. Avoid using long or hot s sounds when speaking these consent harsh or even distorted when played back. Instead, make your s is softer in shorter rehearsing. When you comfortable with how to wake the mic offended software, try recording a few minutes of your actual training material after recording. This time, I don't just play recording back from within your screen cast software but instead export the recording to a video file on your computer. So record a few minutes exported from your screen casting suffering toe a video file. And then I'm recommending the MP four type of video file and then play the radio back. Play it back from your computer's usual video player software, not the screen casting software. Don't worry about mistakes are empty spaces at the beginning or end of the video. For now, we will learn how to edit those out in the next section. After you played the video, ask yourself, How does it look and sound? Did your computer have any problems in processing and exporting the files properly? Does your device have enough memory for video processing? Other. Any distracting background noises in your recording, making out of any problems in Chapter 4.4 of your workbook. Now swap speakers or device and play the same video file again. The eye. Mr. Check how the audio sounds from at least two or preferably three different speakers. One should be a high quality pair of headphones. If you have some, for example, you could listen on your computers built in speakers and also by plugging in an external speaker, headphones or earbuds. It can be surprising her different the same video concerned on different devices. If your audio is clear and easy to understand on or devices, then that's great. If not, you might need to do one or all of the following. Make adjustments to your microphone settings or adjust the audio settings with in your screen casting software or change the distance between your mic and your mouth or change the angle between your mike in your mouth. You might need to speak more slowly. You might need to speak with more precise enunciation, making sure each syllable is separate and clear. He might need to make adjustments to workspace to reduce echoey sounds. During this step, you might notice that you were speaking to slowly what you fast or some of your words are difficult to make out. Don't worry. These takes practice. Write a note of what needs work and stick it to the bottom of your screen to remind you optional. Try running your test video throughout phonic. Use the settings in Chapter 4.7 off the workbook. For this exercise, you can always try different settings. Later. Compare the A funding process to file with the original file. Can you tell the difference? Is it worth the effort only you can decide. 12. 4.5 Editing basics; getting started with editing: editing by sixth, you're an edited screen. Cast videos will likely have mistakes, pauses and space at the beginning and end when nothing is happening. Editing fixes these problems and more unless you are able to get every word and mouse movement right first time every time. Some basic editing is a must to make your videos watchable. This means trimming out dead space where nothing is happening in your video. That's when there's no audio and no movement on screen and removing superfluous sections at the start in interfere of your recording that be the bare minimum that you should probably don't. You should also add it to remove any mistakes that you made when doing your voice over and obtrusive noises, such as a dog barking in the background. If he was speaking when such a noise occurred, the only way to remove it is to delete the small section that was affected and re recorded . For this reason, I recommend that you edit as you go without turning off your microphone or computer in case you lose your settings. That means that editing should happen directly after you have recorded each 5 to 15 minute chunk of your content editing isn't just about removing the stakes. Of course, it can be so much more than that in screen casting stuff where you can do all sorts of fantastic things to your video file. Such a zooming in or out adding annotations, overlying images, blurs and other special effects. Adding transitions like fighting in and out between two different screens. You can change the volume of audio, speed up, slow down pause, insert other video files, make captions depending on the software that you are using, The options consume unlimited honestly, who do the coolest things with video editing tools. But he's the thing. Perfection is the enemy of done. That's a quote from Katherine Carrigan. I love it. So if perfection is the enemy of done it than over, editing is the number one symptom of perfectionism, and it's the number one enemy you will face if you want to finish your project this decade , we all want to produce great content, especially when it has our name or voice on it. But if you spend too much time trying to make your videos perfect, they might never get published, and then no one will ever see your great work. There are two editing traps that can cause massive blowouts in your time to completion. So editing trap number one is getting the perfect voice over. That will be removing every single pause, re recording every single sentence. That doesn't sound absolutely perfect. Number two would be adding bills and whistles to your videos. That will be things like overlays, annotations and interactive features. They can be great additions to videos for online Lenny. But be careful. There are features that can really enhance the learning, and there are features that will enhance the professionalism and look and feel of a video for your learners who are not paying for the training and who were doing the training primarily to learn. Avoid the aesthetic enhancing editing features. The aesthetic features are more useful for economist training, sales videos and professional YouTube. It's What's worse is that amateurishly applied faces can make your video look bad. The hidden trap with using fancy editing features in your video is that to achieve a consistent look, you are going to find yourself compelled to use them in your next video and your next. And while it might only take a minute or two at most transitions into the first lesson of your training costs. By the time you're upto listen 10. You might find yourself regretting that extra time. To avoid the editing trap, refer back to your notes about your learners and the learning outcomes that you want for them. I promise. No matter who they are, there will probably be much more forgiving of a few awkward voice over moments than you will. 13. 4.6 Rendering and exporting video files: rendering and exporting videophiles. By now, you have at least one test video within your screen, costing stuff way. Now you have to process that content so that you can exported in a format that can be read by other software. So here is the process. Again, you record your videos, you edit your videos, you process your videos, you export your videos on. Then you can share them at the end of the recording and editing process. Your screen cast software contains a set of information. The information is compartmentalized by the subways so they can manipulate it while everything, for example, the audio information is kept separate from the visual information. So the ikan Mutar section of the video, if you wish information about screen resolution, zoom image overlays and other editing history, will also be retained within the screen casting software files. So there you Kareem moves overloads later or restore deleted sections. For example, the files within the screen casting stuff way it need to be joined together so that the video can be shared and viewed on software that is external to the screen casting or editing software. This is sometimes referred to his rendering according to Tech Qala. Video rendering is the process by which computer processes the information from a coded data source and uses that information to produce and display an image. Video rendering can be one of the most hardware demanding processes for a computer, especially when it's done in real time after your video has been processed or energy can export it to a video file, which can be uploaded to an online space feel known. It's check out Chapter 4.7 of the workbook for recommended settings for exporting. Now, video files could be quite large, so compressing files can be helpful. Why compress the video file? Well, compressing files makes the file smeller. This means you can upload and download them faster and store them more easily, even betting your learners will be out to be the more easily when they're online, because smaller file sizes load faster and do less buffering. Compressing video files can reduce the size by up to 50% and we'd lee on Don't really understand this. It doesn't decrease the quality off the video. I usually don't worry about compressing video files because I usually keep my videos quite short and that means the file sites is naturally small. But if your videos the longer and your file sizes large, you should definitely consider compressing them as a guide. You should definitely I'm to keep your file size. Listen to geek. If you do need to compress video, the most highly recommended free tool is one cold hand brake, and the link for handbrake is in the results of section off your workbook. Chapter 4.7 off the workbook has recommended hand brake settings. If you're compressing videos, always keep a full size file of your video as a master vision in KC one and compress it into a different format later on. 14. 4.7 Bonus lesson; settings for perfect results: Hi. Welcome to another bonus. Listen, this person has the low down on sittings for making good quality content for online training videos. It includes recommendations for PowerPoint, slide decks, recording resolution, frame writes formats and Kordic, as well as al phonic and hand brake settings. Don't forget to download the cheat sheet and keep it on hand for easy reference. Just a reminder before you start. Things change quickly in the technological space. So if you aren't getting the results you want with this sittings that I recommend, then hop into your favorite search engine and check up on the most up to date advice for video formats of properties. Your online training platform can actually be the vessels of help about which is going to work best on their platform for your materials and Joe Luna's PowerPoint Slides settings. It works best to have your PowerPoint slides sit toe widescreen aspect ratio 69. If your PowerPoint materials Aaron standard size, which is more square shaped, then it's very simple to convert them to wide screen, although that can make all the pictures and text looked really weed on the page. This is how ikan virtual slides into widescreen if you choose to leave your PowerPoint slides instead of science that he can either record your videos with a standard frame size and have the power point filling the whole screen. Or you can record the video in wide screen, but you'll have black space on each side of the screen. Either way, when the videos play for your students, they're going to see black space on either side of your presentation. Slights That's on most video players on most platforms. Next up, recording resolution resolution isn't number or two numbers that represent how many pixels show up on a screen. Ah, high. A number means more pixels and sharper. Better to find images. The ratio between the two numbers also differences shape of the video image. A widescreen shape that cyst extend to nine aspect ratio is going to be well suited to more video players in any other shape. That's why I recommend that you make sure your PowerPoint slides are in 16 9 aspect ratio before you start. According this is the resolution that I recommend. It's not very high resolution. Although very high resolution videos look great, they need lots more processing power to populate a screen quickly, and they take more data, did download and to watch online for a good quality video that he isn't too slow to load. I recommend 1920 by 10 80 that's sometimes called 10 80 p resolution. Next up frame rate is the frequency at which the images in video changed. It is measured in frames per second. Ah, low frame rate will result in a choppy, low quality looking video. If your screen cuts up, were let to choose the frame rate, then choose 24 of 30 frames per second. Video bit rates they other speed at which the data in the video the bits are processed in the unit of time. Higher bit rate videos look better, but take more data. Your videos thing to be at least 300 kilobytes per second, which is quite low, and this rate should work on your devices and data connections. Simple PowerPoint presentation videos really don't need a higher bit rate in these, but if you have fast moving video content inside your material, you will need a higher beat rate. So 2.5 1000 to 5000 kilobytes per second is best. If your screen her software does not allow you to export your files in an appropriate bit right, you might need to re encode file later. Using hand brakes. Software Format File format. For videos, I recommend MP four. It's the most widely accepted format. If, for some reason you have videos in a different format, check with your online training platform as to whether they will be okay. If not, you can convert most file types into MP for using hand brake video compression form it h 0.264 is a video compression standards. It's apparently the most widely used critic on the planet for video compression. That's all I know about it, and that's all you need to know about it, too. If you choose to impress any of your videos, and if you have to choose which product to use, then choose this one. Audio Kotick. According to Wikipedia, a Kotick is a device or computer program capable of encoding or decorating a digital data strain. An audio Codec encodes audio. What do you know? The recommended audio Codec? Is this on a C hyphen? Elsie again, I don't even have set it is the most widely used audio Codec, and it's the most widely supported on the various video streaming platforms. That's why I recommend it. If you need to check your videos betrayed and frame right, you can use a free tool like immediate info. You can see the link on the screen there. Or you can just use Windows to interrogate the file properties from directly within Windows File Explorer, You just right click the file She's properties and then details compression settings. I recommend use hand grateful compression if you made it. The hand brake settings are she's production precincts. Legacy normal and name format. MP four and Web optimized hand brakes. A recommended average bit rate settings of 250. Sorry, 2500 to 3000 kilobytes per second or Aref Liston 32 the other hand brake settings. Leave them as default. Al Phonic sittings The adaptive leveller. Yes, thes keeps the volume of the sounds. We've seen your video consistent and balanced. Loudness. Normalisation minus 16 loves filtering. Yes, it removes unnecessary low frequencies out of the audio, noise and harm reduction. Maybe it's going to depend on your recording environment and equipment, and you're going to need to listen to your own recordings and decide whether it sounds better with or without my eyes and harm reduction. However, if you do choose it, choose the auto city. I hope you enjoyed learning about the settings for making good quality content for online training videos. Now, don't little the technical stuff. Why are you too much? If you leave your screen car sittings exactly as you find them, you are probably going to end up with a perfectly serviceable video. Don't forget to download the cheat sheet and keep it on hand for easy reference. 15. 5.1 Step-by-step video making: welcome to Model Six. In the previous models, we collected the tools we need and tried them out. But finally, we are actually ready in this module. We're going to make some videos. This is where the rubber meets the road. At the end of this module, you will have a set of high quality video files that you can be proud off. He's how it's gonna go face one of your recording process. You are going to start by sitting up your workspace. You're going to get your files ready to record, so that would be your PowerPoint files or your text vice files. If you can arrange them on screen, you are going to record 15 seconds off test recording and then you're gonna play it back and just check that your audio is working correctly. Then you are going to record your whole 5 to 15 minute chunks of content, ideally in one take. So if you make a bit of a mistake, don't stop and start recording again. Just keep going and you can edit out the mistakes later. So after you finish recording the whole chunk when you've got to the end, you're going to edit the chunk in your screen casting software and then you're going to back up your work. You're going to move on to the next chunk. If it the chunk back up the wig, you're gonna keep going until you start getting tired and making mistakes. So you run out of time India schedule, and then they're going to stop and pack up, so that is faced one. I suggest you do it in a big bowl of chunk of continuous time because it's really hard to sort of stop and stop face to Oh, look, perfection is not happening. He can see the arrows on my screen there. Do anything. You start by opening your recording in your screen casting software. So that's the recording that you've done before. Face to is a sort of second set of work that you're gonna do on your videos. So you open your recording that you've already previously made. You're going to process it and export it or render it. Then you're gonna back up what you've done. Now he's your optional activity east and it to out funny for processing. Now we talked about that in previous lessons. You download the files that have been processed by Al Phonic and back them up. Give them a different file names, so you can tell which ones are being pressed this by a funny. But again, the the iPhone X step is optional. If you feel like it's really adding value to your videos, do it. Otherwise, skip the time that it takes doesn't take long. He could be doing other stuff at the same time. But you know more steps slows you down, then that you compressed your files if you need to. So definitely if they're bigger than to geek compress them or if you showed on storage space or if you're online training platform recommends that you compress them. That might be either for the sake of space or for your student experience because, as I mentioned before, smaller files that have been compressed can load a little bit faster and play a little bit better for your students. After you've compressed them back up the compressed file. So you should have a master file that's a large file size somewhere and a compressed file that smaller that you can upload to your online trading platform. And that is the end off the process of face to. So let's get through those faces again. Just really quickly. Face one. Here is all about making the recordings, so you are going to be capturing what's happening on your screen, and you're going to be doing your voice overs at the same time for phase when you're going to need tohave, some energy, some quiet and some uninterrupted spaces of time within your work schedule, you're going to set up your workspace. Get your files ready to record. You're gonna record a test audio and check it before you do any more work. So I play it back. Make sure everything's working properly. Make sure the right part of your screen is getting recorded. For example, make sure that that the aspect ratio of the area that you're recording is correct. Check that everything sounds right. This is really important. I speak from experience. He I have finished recording a really big chunk of video one time and discovered that I was actually capturing like not the part of the screen that I thought I was capturing. It was awful, and I had to do the whole thing again. Next you are going to record your whole chunks that that's a whole lesson, your 5 to 15 minutes bunch off PowerPoint slides or content I dealing in one take without stopping and starting. Then you're going to edit the chunk in your screen casting stuff where you're going to take out the stakes, trim off the ends, delete pauses and blanks and ums and ahhs and all kinds of stuff like that. Then they get back up. You work. So that's the edited work is gonna get backed up. Go back, record the next chunk. If you've got more time and when you run out of time or energy or voice, stop and pack up. So that's phase one he's faced to again. You don't need quiet, and you can do it in small spaces in your schedule if you need to, so you're going to open your screen custom software going to process and export your files . Now you can usually work in the background while this is happening, which is greatly, could be doing other things at same time. Back up what you've done. If you are using our phonic prices that throughout Phonic again, this takes some time for a phonic to process and download, but you could be doing other things at same time. Compressed files back up. You work and stop. So that's face to in the next video. We're going to plan out sometime in your diary so you can hold yourself accountable and make sure that your project really gets done. 16. 5.2 Planning your sessions: planning your sessions during module for you recorded some test videos, so you should have some idea of what is going to work well when you're recording for real. A really important thing to strive for with your recording is to use a consistent process when you record a consistent process, will give your videos a better look and feel, and it's important for getting a consistent volume on your audio. There's nothing more frustrating for a learner than having to constantly adjust the volume on their device for eight video. And best of all, consistency makes it easier for you for your planning. The most important thing you need to do is allow enough time to record an edit. One video in one session as a rule of thumb. Allow at least three times as much time for editing and re recording as it would take for you to present your chunk off information in person. This is another reason that I strongly recommend that you break your material into small chunks short chunks because it will keep your session length of manageable so you don't run out of energy part way through, and it it whether we go allow enough time at least three times might be longer when you first study and it it immediately after recording as an example. If you have a five minute chunk of content, say that would be five slides of a PowerPoint presentation. You should expect a recording and editing process to take 20 minutes. Be recording for five minutes and then you'll be editing for 15 minutes for a total of 20 minutes. Set up and packing up your workspace is obviously going to take extra time. On top of that, rendering processing and exporting files is also gonna take extra time. But it's fine to do these in a separate session. Here's some of the people's. There are huge benefits to editing your video as soon as you've recorded it, and this is why I recommend doing it that way. If you were ad libbing, your content, your voice over rather than using a script, you're going to find yourself going off. Track you to talk a little bit longer than you may be short when training in person. It's easy to catch yourself doing this, as you can often pick up social clues from your audience as I start to not off. But when you have a comfy disc in a microphone and a long day ahead, it can be really easy to talk for much too long on a single point. If you edit straight after recording, you're going to more easily. Remember the information that you were trying to impart, and you would have to re acquaint yourself with the intended outcome, as he would if he came back toward a few days later. So this makes it much easier to decide during the editing process, which parts of your voice over you need to keep and which could be cut out. It's also easy to remember which parts you made mistakes in, and it's easier to remember whether they were outside noises that interrupted you, for example, for consistency. Follow my huge. It's use the same equipment every time you record use the same workspace, so the same room and the same part of the room. If you can leave the equipment set up from session to session and keep a consistent angle and distance from the mike if he can while recording, this is what I want you to do. Now go to the workbook, Go back to table 1.4. If you remember, there was some columns we didn't feel in earlier. Go back there and write down the time that you think it's going to take for you to record a chunk of your content. Booker slot into your diary for each session to help make sure that your work days don't get swallowed up by other things. So I want you to schedule in your recording sessions. I also recommend this is a bit we'd to record your first few lessons. Last. This is a really cool trick. It is so that you can record the first lesson. Think they're actually the ones that are gonna sound the best when you're most familiar with the process, and it can be assured that you can have a really confident and smooth result. And that's a result that you want to start your learners off on when they first start engaging with your training material and do your processing, rendering and exporting at a later time in a different session from your recording. Their great presence is to do while you're either worn out from recording and can't face another moment in front of the microphone all when you're watching TV or performing mundane task that don't need tons of attention. Like if you're stuck in a boring teleconference as you go, keep track of your progress in table 1.4 off your workbook. Make a note of whether it's being recorded, edited, exported, compressed or backed up so you can keep track of where, where you're up to it everything. You can also add the video file names on this save locations into that table for future reference. 17. 5.3 Dealing with interruptions: dealing with the interruptions. Interruptions are going to happen when you're recording. It can be really frustrating, especially if you are on a roll and feel like things going well. What today you can avoid them. You can turn off notifications on your computer and find before you start silence you of my bile and landline. Put a sign on the door entrance way of your workspace. Tell the other people in Randy what you were doing and what you need from them. Unlike refrigerators, air conditioning units and other noisy appliances, so you can avoid interruptions. You can. Also, it is a bit we'd allow in interruptions as well. You can choose some sort of pre approved interruptions if you like. Depending on who your lenders are, you might choose to allow first certain background noises, interruptions and errors without correcting editing ovary recording them, and it's good to decide in advance what those might bay as an example. If your training of your employees is usually a pretty casual affair, then you don't have to create an Oscar winning performance just because it's on the Internet. So remember one of the people's was perfectionism. In this case, you might say a dog barking would be OK, perhaps occasional traffic noise or Children in the next room, they might be acceptable. However, if your material is for training customers, then you might decide that those noises aren't acceptable. The idea is to decide what you'll be okay with beforehand, so that when they happen during your recording, you don't freak out and stop. The next option is to fix them. There are some interruptions that you should always reduce or eliminate coughs. They mark up the audio quality and the noise leveling because they're quite loud. If you leave the mean, they can hurt your learners ears if they using headphones. So definitely get rid of coughs comes and us now, if you might be OK. But if there are a lot in your voice, I have a severely limit your learner's ability to concentrate, and they're going to really harm you'll. In his ability to actually learn what you're trying to teach. They're all gonna design out really quickly. Also get rid of long pauses while you're finding your nights or progressing slides again. It'll sort of grab your letters attention in the wrong way because they'll be looking at scream. They won't hear anything. Nothing will be happening on screen, but they might think that their videos frozen or their Internet connections going down or something. So it's you can really disrupt the learning process, miss enunciated words. If you have a lot of ways that really can't be understood by the Lana, you should go back and re record them out. Because, of course, if you're learners can understand what you're saying, that's gonna be a problem and definitely edit out any noises from outside that have obscured what you actually sit. So these are the ones that you should always fix how to fix them. We going to learn that in the next lesson, go to work book Now, write down what sort of sounds, interruptions and errors that you are going to be a k a week. For example, you might be OK with just correcting a mistake in the voice ever and moving on Earth. Sorry. You know, that's 20 minutes, not 15 minutes. For example, family noises. If you're okay with that. Right it down now. Oh, outside nurses, if you are cable guys as well. In the next lesson, I'm going to share some of my favorite editing tips and tricks 18. 5.4 Editing tips and tricks: editing tips and tricks. In this lesson, I'll share some tips and tricks to make the edit. Price is a little easier. As I said before, at the end of each 15 to 5 to 15 minutes, a chunk of recording you're gonna stop and play the video back, and it it it you're going to use your screen Casting suffers tools to remove ums and ahhs, and any long pauses you're going to re record any parts that aren't clearly clearly just as an example that are not clearly enunciated or easy to understand. Because all screen casting subway is different. I can't tell you exactly how to perform the operations that you need to edit your videos, all the software that I've recommended back in module to has guides and tutorials. If you get stuck, Google and YouTube are your best friends. Let's go back to that pupil again. Perfectionism. Perfection is your enemy. If you want to get this job down quickly, your aim is to have something that is easy to understand, not something that is whether worthy, often Oscar second people is as you get used to editing, you're going to find yourself Tim to Ted fancy stuff. You might want to add entries. Outro owes special transitions. Music overlays, that kind of thing. Avoid this for now, for thes online training project because it's really going to slow down. Here's a tip. When you've had a little practice with editing and a study to get the hang of it, you can set your playback speed to double time while you're editing. This is going to really reduce the time it takes to listen to all your voice. Iver's in the next Listen, I'm gonna talk briefly about some of the other editing features that you might have in your software. 19. 5.5 Adding music and extra video content: in this lesson will discuss incorporating music, video clips and interactive elements into your training videos. We'll talk about why you can or should do these and some reasons not to do it. Plus went to do it. We'll also show you how toe add these features if you want to, so why would you do it? Adding interesting features to your video training material can improve the experience for your learners. But there are two reasons that I recommend that you do not do this. It slows the video, making prices down significantly, and it can cause compatibility problems with some some online course software. When should you do it? Not today. This course, the online training project, is about getting your material online fast, adding music and interactive features will slow you down. Why too much as you get me to publishing your content, you might find yourself slowing down and finding new things to do. That would delay the publishing date. Procrastination. It's a fear response. It's scary to put stuff out that you've recorded yourself, particularly as you won't pay 100% placed within a guarantee they'll be part of it. The you don't think is very good. One defense mechanism that you have. He's subconsciously slowing down by any more layers and more things to do. Don't fall into this trap. The great thing is that because you own the video files that you've making and you've got them in this screen casting software, you can go back to them at any time and add other elements has, such as music and fancy things later. If you must do it, do it later after you've published Version one of your course. Having said all that, he's had add music so again, doing it later. You can get music from your screen casting stuff. Where library, if it has it. So some software has a library off music. Think you can use royalty free? You can buy music to use in your video clips. I recommend Audio jungle dot net, and once you bought it, you can import it into your video using or itching software. Well, after you've recorded your video, you can export your audio using our phonic or your screen cast software to get a separate audio file, and then you can separately edit your audio track using software such as audacity audacity is audio editing stuff where it's very widely used, really well respected. It's easy to use, and it's completely frayed. There are links toe audio, jungle and to our destiny. E in the workbook, How to and video clips again, Not today. You can add videos into your screen casting videos by either pasting the video into the PowerPoint presentation so that as you're going through your PowerPoint slides, the video will play. You can use clips from the video library in your screen casting subway if you've got it. Or you can find and purchase your own stock video clips from elsewhere on the Internet and insert them into your videos using the editing tools in your screen casting software. There is a link to my favorite and most cost effective videos. Doctored footage, suppliers in the resources section in the workbook. How to add interactive elements. Some screen casting software will support this, and some course software will support that to the your online training platforms, loan worlds dot com ears and online training platform that I use and it has built in interactive video authoring. But just remember, don't waste your time when this now come back and do it later. After you've got your first version published. Otherwise you're never gonna get to the end. 20. 5.6 Bonus lesson, how to automatically back up your vidoes: bonus video. How to back up automatically. Why back up your files there? I'm not even gonna dignify that question with an answer. Why backup your files to the cloud in case you lose the hardware on which is saved to work ? So that would be losing your laptop, For example. You know by now that creating video takes a lot of valuable time, and I would hate to see you lose it. There are a few cool ways to get your files up into the cloud easily, so the first option is you should check out whether your screen casting software will do it automatically. Most don't automatically back up to the cloud while you were working on projects, although the expensive version of screen custom medical duties and it's pretty cool. Secondly, Al Phonic in just a reminder. I'm not affiliated without funny. I don't get any financial benefit from recommending their services are fine. Equal export to Google drive Dropbox, Amazon s three and Facebook and YouTube automatically. First, you need to register the service that you want to use, and then it can create a precept so that it will do it the touch of a button for a reminder of what Phonic is and does go back to listen. 3.5 21. 5.7 Thanks for watching, see you next time!: So that is it the end of screen casting?
