1. Introduction: So anyway, so hello, I'm, I kill, and I am an artist from India. I specialize in photorealistic colored pencil drawings. I've been making colored pencil drawings for almost three years now. My artistic journey was full of overwhelming experiences and lessons. To be frank, I made a lot of mistakes in my earliest days. But I believe that those mistakes have helped me to grow and improve at my odd, I'm here to share with you all the knowledge that I've gained through all my Hardy's team journey. I have, we weren't my best effort to bag all of it in our series of lectures, which I'll be providing to you through this class. This will be a very detailed tutorial for colored pencil drawing. We'll be learning some basic tips to advance and drawing techniques of making colored pencil portraits. It will be beneficial to both beginners and intermediate level of students. We will begin the class by looking at what a portrayed ease and what can be achieved by using the medium of colored pencils. Then I will show you what are the various materials that are required to make a realistic drawing. From there, we'll progress towards the process of sketching and we will learn some basic proportions to grow a human face. And finally, we will have a series of in-depth lectures in which I will teach you how to color the different portions of a human face to attain a realistic look m, we will end the class by completing a small project and discussing some essential tips to improve your drawing. I look forward to teach you all the lessons that I learned from my experience. So let's get started.
2. Portrait Drawing: What is Possible?: So what is a portrayed in case basically an artistic representation of a person in which the phase at its expressions is predominant. It is a way to diagnose personality and even the mood of the person. Now there are a few different ways to portray a person. Some common examples are for photography, sculpture, painting, drawings. I am even abstract drawings. For this class, we will be focusing on realistic colored pencil portraits, which means we will be using colored pencil to portray people which will look the most closer to the subject as possible. Now the goal is to make out od look, asked close to subject as possible so that can get the realistic look. The reason why I choose reality, what right growing all of the other conventional matters is that for me, this is the best method to portray a person. Also in this method, you will be able to more details to subject. Now, that can be just my opinion of it or the way that I have perceived it. Some of you may not exhibit that. May have a different opinion on that. But that's okay. Cause it's odd and new order. Let me give you a shorting side to my journey. I have been making drawings for almost six years now. And I think my experience of using the regular pencils have helped me. Why are you getting better at colored pencils? I started drawing with colored pencils just three years back. And here you say color scene drawing that I made in my first year of using color principles. And now let's look at it portrayed drawing that I made reasonably, That is a few months ago, the amount of improvement that I have made during these three years is clearly visible from these two drawings. For me, it took this long, two in blue only because I didn't leave enough time for that due to this pandemic and all these quarantined, these, I was finally able to give some time to Enbrel my heart. What you can achieve in a short time is just insane.
3. Materials: Let's look at the materials that we will be using for this class. For sketching. We'll be using a set of normals, getting pencils. Just use the lightest one available to make the sketch. Moving onto coloring, we will be using febrile castle polychromy color pencils. These are high-quality artist grade color pencils. The paper that I will use will be smooth sofas in Bristol paper. Now Strathmore Bristol is a QC suggestion that I have for you. I prefer to make my drawings on A4 size paper. Some of the other important accessories that I will use include a pair of regular eraser and sharpen up. And for blending purposes, I will use a near but occasionally.
4. Sketching: So let's start by making a sketch for our drawing. Creating the skate is like the foundational step for your drawing. The final quality of the drawing that we are going to make will obviously depend upon that relabel the kids that you make. 6. Before You Color: Now, before starting to color the sketch, it is very important that you get familiar with the colors that you are going to handle. An easy thing to do to get familiar with the different colors is to make a color chart. Now, I'll be putting on the screen the different colors that are used while coloring the different parts of the face. This will act as a gating factor too, especially if you're a beginner. And even if you are confident in selecting the colors, I would recommend you to come back to this section if you are having any doubt in selecting the colors.
7. Facial Features: For this class, we will be making a portrayed growing of Christine's toward, I have got a very fine picture of us at a friend's image. Now instead of making a single portrait drawing, I'll be drawing each of her facial features like eyes, lips, and his separately on a larger scale. First, we will how a bunch of short length video lectures in which I will use some easy tips for coloring different parts of the fields. In this class is I will also give some guidance on selecting the colors as well as the various techniques to be played. And later, towards the end of this class, we will how a CDs of real time drawing videos on the same subject, which will be uncovered and row full-page. There will not be any commentary or guidance during those lectures. You can simply wants them and learn by practicing it. So let's begin.
8. Eye: Portrait Drawing: Let's start with the eyes. Here I have the reference image of her eye disease, the final result that I have made. Now let's look at the process of making it. Firstly, make a very light-skinned or if you have any dark marks on the sketch which are produced while the process getting, Make sure to rub it off before you start coloring. Now, we have our final sketch relieved to be colored. I usually start by making the outline of the subject. Starting with the dark colors is ideal if the subject is very bright. Keep adding successive layers of colors and you can look at a smooth transition between the colors. Now alternate between the necessary colors to attain the required skimmed on. 9. Hair: Portrait Drawing: From my experience, hair is one of the easiest parts to be drawn in a human face. Start by making a solid outline using in darker brown color. Now start filling in the lighter colors by using vertical movements. Make sure that your pencils are properly sharpened. The thinner the lines you make, the more real will your hair look. Also, it will help in adding depth to the hair. Keep an eye on the reference image. Always take the shape and the curvature of the hair. Do not draw straight lines. Give your headlines. Appropriate carburetor. Now alternate between the dark and light Bronx to fill in the space. You may use mid tones like the vanity and read to give more definition to the hair. And other important color that will add up to the definition of your hair is black. So your friends carefully and darken the appropriate regions using black Kano. This will help in creating a good contrast in your drawing. And finally, use the dark dawn to free any left over wide regions. Also draw some loose hairs coming out from the side to make it look more real. And there we have our final result.
10. Lips: Portrait Drawing: Okay, now let's draw a pair of lips. Start by making the center line of the lips. Denmark, the upper and lower boundary. Now mark the darker regions inside the lips. Then continue with marking the various goods and retail on each limb. You may want to use a darker color to do this. Then slowly started coloring. I prefer to start coloring from my side. This way, I can easily multiple layers over one lambda2. Now alternate between the Nasserist skin tones to get the required blend. Make sure to use a good range of colors so that your pings and voice are distinctly receivable. Use a combination of penicillin movements and alternate between the gallows to get a result which matches with their friends. Hold your hands a little far from the tip of the pencil. In this position and minimum pressure is applied to the leds. Whereas when you hold your hands closer to the lead, here, higher pressure is applied to its tip. 11. Ear: Coloured Pencil Drawing: Moving on to the ears. Start by marking the outline of the US, a mid pink. Don't leave the outline. Make sure to mark all the portions inside and outside the then generally start coloring with darker regions. It's ideal to start coloring from the top and progress towards the bottom. Once you have filled, all the dark regions, continue with the lighter colors. Blend them in portions between these dark regions. Now, use to fill in the lighter regions. You may use a lighter pink to fill the other leftover regions. I'm a little yellow tone in the skin to match with the reference. Finally, the outer boundary of the year using a darker yellow or brown. This will help you to project out. And we help our ear colored.
12. Nose: Color Pencil Drawing: The process of growing the nose is very similar to that of growing the ears will be using almost the same colors as the lust. The technique start by drawing an outline of the nodes using a pink color. Now mark the dark portions using a darker brown. Then start coloring from the darker region. In this case, I would like to start from the nostril. Slowly, add more colors and layer them on one nanometer. Now, continue with blending the skin colors on the upper region of the nose. Again, we are using same colors that we used while growing years. This time we are going to mark the outline. We take gray color rather than a dark brown. You may want to add a little feather to the boundary of the north. Since it has to be blended in with the remaining portion of the face. Use a pink or an ivory to serve this purpose. Finally, using an alert tone to add a matching shade. And we how our nose ready.
13. Tips and Project: Now let's look at some easy tips which will help you get better at portrayed drawing. The number one tip is to observe and learn from as many portraits as possible for you to have a better understanding, a humpback, a CDs of real time drawing we use by the end of this class, I highly recommend that you take them out.
