In this After Effects class we are going to learn visual effects by creating Rain Stop effect. This tutorial is great for Beginner level as also for any level because it shows how to create this VFX shot NOT using expensive Trapcode Particular plugin. This is a great way to introduce yourself to After Effects, or learn few skills if you already familiar with this software.

We also going to learn:

- basics

- camera tracking

- filming video correctly for VFX

- creating 3D particles

- 3D camera movement

- compositing

I did my best to tackle these serious topics and explain in simple terms how these tools work. Leave a comment with your thoughts or questions, I'll be happy to answer them all :)

1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Jake and I'm using After Effects for fun videos like this one, which we are going to make today, you can do VFX shots, which are made entirely in After Effects. For professional work, I make an easy to use After Effects templates, which helped get unique looking promos, slideshows, and even Charaka titles. In no time I invite you to learn the software by doing the effects for fun. I think it's the best way to learn it. And by the way, it's exactly how I started this class is great for beginners, but also for professional filmmakers who probably thought that this effect was made with two separate plugins. Truth is, this effect was made with no plugins at all. It is great for VFS enthusiast, as also for people who are looking where to start learning how to edit videos like this. And I'll make sure to take you step-by-step and tell you all the things which you need to know, assuming that you don't know anything in this way, anybody can follow along. Also, I'll explain every step which I make. So you could understand why we are doing certain things. This class has a quite a few videos only because I want to give all knowledge which goes along approaching these kinds of effects. And the most things which I explained in my class are applicable to any kind of VFX shots. My goal with this class is to give a knowledge of tools which we are going to use. So you would understand exactly how it works, would be able to use this knowledge in your future projects. I'll be happy to see you in my class as also your result after following all the steps, Let's get started. 2. Pre-Production: Thank you for taking interest in my class. Let's not waste any time and get straight into it. And this part of the class, I'll tell you, oh, pre-production steps, which we need to consider before shooting our video. So first thing we should need to do is to film your footage just like mine. And here's a few things which you need to know before filming your footage on most professional sets when shooting any kind of video, which will have WIIFM, what's in it. It is required to have a VFS supervisor or VFS artists onset to help shoot video in right away. So today we are going to take all the roles you as if effects artist know that DFA shots look boring if they shot from the tripod with no movement of the camera. Only exception is if something tender is going on in the scene, and even then, you still would want to have slow movement towards the action. Also movement of the camera can hide imperfections of your effect. In our case, we are going to use a dedicated camera like cannon T3 I, or any phone which you might have in the next two videos, I'll tell you how to set up a dedicated camera like my Canon TI 3I. Or it can be a Sony or Nikon or any camera which allows you to manually change aperture, shutter speeds, and frame rate. If you're a beginner, this worst can scare you away. But don't worry, it's much easier on the phones, which I'll explain later. If you have only a phone just washed through the next two videos to have a general knowledge about the stuff for the future, you probably could skip the next few videos and go straight to aftereffects tutorials. But keep in mind, if you will not be able to track your footage, there is big chance that you didn't set up your camera correctly. This is why I recommend you to be patient and watch all the steps. Even if you know this stuff, you might probably hear something new for you. 3. Camera Settings: I'm glad that you didn't skip this video. Chances are that you will purchase a dedicated camera in the future. And you will need to know which Settings works best for this effect. And not just for this effect, but for camera check in in general. So first of all, you'll need to know how to manually change your settings of aperture, shutter speed, and frame rate of your camera. It should be in your manual of your camera or you can find it online. So as you can see, I'm changing my aperture to F9. You can close it even further if you have a good amount of light in your environment, as I'm changing values, it's getting darker. So keep in mind that this effect would be better to shoot in a well-lit environment. Why are we closing episode, you might ask, we are closing the aperture so our backgrounds wouldn't be blurry in which is great for the tracking, then shutter speed should be higher than 50, but don't go over 200 because motion would look choppy and unnatural. If your scene is still too bright, it's better to set aperture even higher. And shutter speed leaf between 5200. Increasing the shutter speed will decrease the motion blur. For example, this video is recorded with the shutter speed is set to ten because you can see the motion blur is huge. If I said shutter speed higher than 200 and you can see that movement of my hand is choppy and unnatural. So basically we want to have a balance between the natural food dish with a little bit of motion blur, but still we need to reduce the motion blur. Finally, we can set our frame rate higher than 30 frames per second, but it's not that necessary, especially if you set aperture higher than nine. In this case, we should have a good amount of details. By the way, the footage for this class, I've shot in 30 frames per second. And I got away with the shutter speed of 15. And aperture is highly dependent on your lighting conditions in your environment. You can also change the amount of light in your scene by changing the ISO values. Okay, great. We are ready to film, are foolish. We dedicated camera. In the next video, I'll go over the phone settings. It will be pretty short video, and then I'll explain how to film your footage to get great results. 4. Phone Settings: Now let's take any phone and see what we can do with it. So with the phone, it's much easier if you have apps installed which allow you to change the shutter speed of your camera, then make sure to set it between one hundred and two hundred. It should be fine. In my case, I prefer not to use any apps, so I'll give you tips on how to use a standard camera app. In this case, you don't need to worry about any settings because your camera will automatically change. Said the Settings, which is best for your environment. This is why I recommend to shoot your video on a bright day. In this case, camera of your phone will feel in foolish With the less blur. Default will automatically set the settings which would work best for us. Once again, as you can see in the portal elite environment, you'll get more motion blur, which we don't need, end dimensionless details, which we need this braid much it, if you are filming, you're foolish on your phone and just make sure that you are filming in bright light of daytime or in a very well lit environment. 5. Main Rules of Filming Footage: Now you know, all the settings which we need to have. Next step will be chosen your environment. Our goal is to find a spot with conscious points, like in my video, with help of conscious points After Effects will try to track our camera movement. By the way, let me explain what aftereffects camera tracking is. Basically it allows you to track your camera of movement in real life and then create a virtual camera in after effects. The way it works is by using contrasts points in your seem like this tile here between light and dark colors. Then it reads these tracking points and analyzes their movement according to each other. And finally, it calculates from this data how you moved your camera in real life. Ok, so we found an environment with conscious points. Next up is to make sure that we don't have too many reflective objects or moving objects and our seem. So if we have cars or people moving in the background, we don't want them to be an hour shot because those are reflective and moving objects can mess up the algorithm of the trekking. So make sure that you in your shut and don't move and don't take too much space in your shot like this. You should be like this step. You need to make sure that your movement while holding the camera is smooth. So we wouldn't have to my jerky movement of the camera. Also make sure that you don't zoom in. If you have a camera lens, it would it be better to zoom out as much as possible or to use a wide lens like 18 millimeters funds, by the way, already have pretty wide standard lens. Just make sure that you didn't zoom in. Next step is to learn your movement, which you want to do. As you remember, you don't need to take too much space in your shot and maybe just maybe some setup emotionally. This, if you want to film how you walk into the frame, I recommend you to film a separate shot from other angle and cut it together when you edit in your video, it will look a bit more professional and also will not mess up the trekking. Now let's recap all these steps. Choose a bright lit environment with conscious details in it. Make sure that nothing big is reflecting and no one is moving in your scene. Make sure to film your footage with smoothest motion possible without zoom and practice your actress movements before filming. So it would look more confident. You can screen shot these steps to not forget, you are ready to film your footage. In the next video, we will open out to the pace and create effect itself. Also, I'll show you how to fix few issues which might come up. 6. Camera Tracking: Great job. Now you should have your own correctly film footage. If you don't have it yet, you can download the test footage, which I feel specially for this class. Or you can just pause this video and film your own footage. My desk foolish, which I've created for this class, you can find a resource step below this video. Let me briefly tell you what we are going to do in the next few videos. In this one, I'm going to show you how we can track the camera in our footage, as well as tell you a few tricks which will help get the best results. In the next one, we are going to create a simple rain effect. The third one, we are going to create a particles in a 3D environment so the camera goods move through them. And then final video, we will composite our particles in real life footage and combine all effects together. As I've said at the beginning of this video, is, don't be afraid of the length of these videos. Technique is not hard. I'm just taking my time to explain how it works to the best of my abilities. And now let's jump into After Effects. Okay, brace yourself because here I didn't script any of my words and English is not my first language, so I will kinda sound like a robot in this part of this class. Okay, now we are inside of aftereffects pre version of Opera face. You can download it here. Adobe website. You can just download the free version and install on your computer. Once you open your aftereffects application, you'll see this kind of window. If you cannot see as some of the tabs which you can see on my screen. Like for example, this paragraph, you can go to Window and enable by the name paragraph align, align. Okay, so here in project panel, we can import our desks forage. So let's go to File, Import File or just left mouse double-click here. This flourishes available in description to this class. Let's click on it and click import. Now we can left mouse click and drag here, here on timeline or here on this little icon to create new composition. So this is our timeline here we can scroll through our video. It can be your video which you've created if you are first time in After Effects, don't be afraid to make mistakes because you're always going to press Control Z on keyword. To undo some actions. Or press control shift is to redo the same action or go to edit, undo or redo. So once you have your own foolish or just like mine is, you can see it's not perfect because here we can see blurriness. And if we will have some issues, I'll show you how we can fix it. So finally, let's track our forage. Let's go to animation. Track camera, leftmost ligand it is, you can see it's automatically start to analyze in background. At this time, you can click anywhere and just wait here, our progress. As you can see, we are on 40% and if we will have some issues, I'm going to show you how you can fix it. As you can see, a trekking went well because we have these tracking points and this is how you know, that all went great. Otherwise, you'll get red message that the camera cannot be solved. So if you'll get red message, what you want to do is go to advanced ng-click on detailed analysis. Here on this checkbox. It can improve the tracking and give you a positive result. Also, if you already checked on this show bucks and it still doesn't track, you're foolish. What you can do is to select your forage, go to Effect color correction curves. And this kind of curve. To have a lot more of conscious points in your video. Because you remember from previous steps, we need to have high contrast points like here, between white and black. It will allow the software to track much better, but it will not work with this occurs effect just blade this. You need to select your flourish and go to a layer, recompose and click here to move all attributes in this way. With this step, these curves will bake in interior video. Click OK. And as you can see, we have just a composition with no effects. And in this way, you can go to animation, track camera. And it will start trekking and might give you better result. After the trek in, you can just open your composition, select your foolish and disabled this curve SS effect, and you'll get the same result, which I have already. So I'll press Control Z to undo all the actions or go to Edit Undo. And our case is you can see it worked well. If you cannot see the tracking points which we already created, you just need to select your foolish and select discreetly camera tracker. And now you can see your trekking points. Now we need to create our virtual camera, which we'll repeat the movement which was in real life. We need to select the area with points on the floor. Just left-click and drag and select a bunch of these good forums. We should represent the ground. And then right mouse click on one of these points. We need to create null and camera. And let's click on it. So now as you can see, we have the camera in our scene. This is virtual camera, which will repeat all the same movement which we had in real life, distracts null. We can just remove. Well-done you successfully attract your footage. In next video, we will create a raindrops and two, we will place them into our CME. 7. Simple Rain Effect: Okay, let's save our project because we have some progress which we don't want to lose. So go to File, Save, choose your location where we want to save it. I'll call it less and click save. Now we can select this foolish and delete this effect. So it wouldn't take any memory in our application. So select it and press delete. Let's create some basic rain. We can just go to layer new solid. Let's call it basic rain. We've created new layer because we want to have our affects on separate layers. And I just write onto our video. In this case, we will able to disable it and work on other parts. So let's enable it. And now we can go to effects and presets tab here. If you cannot see this affects impressive step. You can go to Window and enabled from here affects and presets. Here we can just type CC rain and drag this CC rainfall effect onto this basic rain layer. To see our rain, we need to change the transfer mode of this layer. To see our modes, we need to click on this toggle switches and the modes. And now we can see this mode tab here we can click on Normal and change it to add. It's better to have this layer black. So let's change it. We can go to layer solid settings, just like this basic rain, and go to layer solid settings. And here we can change it to black and click OK. OK. So as you can guess, the add mode works like this. It takes our layer and just shows only the bright parts of this layer. If we click here and this is solo button, we will see only this layer. And as you can see, a bright parts of this image is our raindrops. So with this, we can change to add and show only these bright parts. And just because our layer is black, everything else will be transparent. So let's click it here on solo button and see our rainfall here and effect controls. We can change a few properties. For example, we can decrease the amount of rain drafts. Let's set it to one hundred, ten hundred and see the result. I believe you cannot see very good the raindrops. So size, I'll set it to nine. As you can see, it got a bit brighter here and capacity. We can change the transparency of the raindrops. I'll set it to 55 just for better visibility. But you can change this value to what works best for your foolish. I'll leave it at 55. Spread. Let's set it to nine. But before, let me show you how it works. As you can see, if we change it, we just have this variation in the drop pattern. I'll set it too low value nine. Also, we need to change scenes that let's just play with this value and you'll see what happens. Basically seeing that. We'll make it look like here we have some drops which are close to the camera and some drops which are farther away. Solar set it to 10 thousand to have more depth. And finally, let's play around with our speed. Now it's set to 4 thousand. If we increase our speed, you will see the changes. And if we press on Notepad, we can preview the result. It's too fast. So let's change this speed TO 7500. Let's also press 0 on, not bad. I'll leave it at 7500. But you can also change this value to see what works best on your footage. And what is great enough interface that we can keep rim. These properties, all the properties which have these stopwatches. First of all, pay attention where you have your timeline cursor, this one. Let's set it about here, where I start to move my hand down at the end of this motion and click here on speed. Here on this stopwatch. It will create a keyframe. To see this keyframe, you need to select this layer and press you on keyboard. It will show our keyframe. Keyframe is the basically the point in time, we should remembers the value which we said. So we have this value of 7500. If we disrupt this time coarser to beginning of the motion the hand, we can set it to 0, blanket Empress 0, ng-click. Enter, God, this layer to this moment, just by moving the cursor to displace just left mouse click and drag to this moment. And as you can see here, we cannot see this layer because we got it to this moment. And here we have this point in time where we had set to 0 and this point in time where we said TO 7500. And as you can see, we have the basic animation which looks political. And let's see where we have this second motion with our hands. So about here we want to create a new key frame, but in this case, we don't need to click on this stopwatch. We need to click here to create another key frame. If you will click on this stopwatch, it will disappear all the keyframes, solids press Control Z to undo this action, and click here to create a new key frame. It will save this same keyframe which we had in this point in time, which is exactly what we want. So in this case, we just saved this 75-100 value. So as you can see between these two key frames, we have still this value here. Let's set it to 0. And now we have this animation, 75-100, and here goes to 0. And once again, let's cut this layer to this moment. Left mouse click hold and drag to this moment. Ok, let's close this tab here and press 0. So as you can see now we have this basic rainfall. In the next video, we will add the 3D rain. In a wish we will walk through. 8. 3D Rain Particles: Okay, we already have some progress. Let's go to file, save it. And now let's read the most interesting part of this effect. For this, we need to go to layer new solid and let's call it raindrops. And click OK. Now we need new effect, which called CC particle world. Left mouse click and drag on this new layer. As you can see, a generated some particles. Let solo this layer and see what we have. And if we scroll through, you can see that we already have camera movement. So let's disable all of these lines because we don't want it. We can click once again, we have a bunch of the Settings which we can adjust. So let's open grid and guides, and let's disable all these parameters. So now we have this Lynn look, which we want to see how it looks. For now let's disable this camera. Now we don't have any camera movement, just our particles. As you can see, it doesn't look like a rain. So let's let our raindrops NCC particle world. And let's make a few adjustments to make it look more like a rain. First of all, I want to go to physics and change animation from explosive to fractal omni. You might be asking yourself, how do I know which kind of animation do I need to use? I'll tell you how I've chose it. I just clicked through a bunch of them like this. Once again, do not be afraid to click around like this just to see what this after phase capable of. And neither of these Dillon local lake arranged to me. I started to play with this velocity and other properties. And in our case, we want to have our raindrops just free ofs in time. So basically we don't want to have any adjustments here. So I just set to 000. And as you can see, it just generates some particles and nothing is happening at all. So next step for us is to spread around into our scene. So let's go to producer. And here we have some position and radius. With the radius, we can just spread these particles. Now as you can see, it covers our screen much better, which exactly what we want. And just by playing with these three values, we can spread our particles in our shot. Let's make it more visible for you to see. I'll go to particle. Here in particle, we can change appearance of these particles. I'll change from lines TO shade a sphere. Once again, just don't be afraid to play around with these. Just click through them and see what works best. Because you can always go to edit undo. So I've went through all of these and I laid this shade is sphere. At this point, pretty good idea would be to enable our camera. So let's enable it here by clicking on eyeball and click on this solo button to see it. So now we have the field, how camera will move through our rain drops. As you can see, we don't have any drain drops here. So we can go to producer here and change this position x0, and move it a bit further. And maybe let's spread it in z also, ladies. And here a bit here. So our goal is to have them all over our screen. Let's move it further away. This. Ok, it looks pretty good. But now as you can see, we have them appearing from malware. So now our goal is to have them on the screen and not just appearing and disappearing. The way we can do this, we can go here to longevity in seconds and set too high a number lake thirty-seconds. In this way, they will appear and not disappear. Here at the end, as you can see, it already appeared perfectly. So what we can do is just to move this layer like this to the beginning and then extended. In this case, we just skipped all this separation part and just left with this on our screen. So now we can also click on this birth rate and to create a keyframe and jump one frame further. And said this keyframe to 0. In this case, once again, we can press you on keyboard to see our keyframes. So in this case, we've made our particles not to appear anymore because we have both rate at two and now it's 0. So it will not generate more particles. Also, we can change this value to 1.5 if we want less of them. But let's also play or with this size. And to get them look right, I think I want to have them smaller. So let's set it burst size 2.1 and size 2.1 and size variation. Let's set it to 100. In this case, it will be more randomized. And the max capacity, we can set it to 100. So it would be visible. Maybe let's set it to, point to. But you can play with these size values to get the size of the raindrops which you want. Now as you can see, we have some transparency on this particle. What we can do is just to move it over like this. Once again, extended enum over over. And now as you can see, it not transparent anymore, which exactly what we want. We can also click on this toggled transparency grid, NC particles itself. And as you can see, it doesn't look like raindrops at all. What we want to have is more randomized shape and not just these circles. And the way you how to do this, we can just apply effect called turbulence displays. Let's select it and drop it on raindrops. Don't forget to file safe because Adobe After Effects sometimes crashes. With this tribal and displays. As you can see, we've added some random look to our particles. And what we want to do is to play with these two values. So to explain this effect, let's create a new composition. I'll click on this, Create new composition. You don't have to do this. I just want to create a position for explanation. So this explanation opposition, I'll create a new solid and drop fractal noise. I just want to explain how it works. This effect, this size property is basically looks like this, and it changes our noise pattern. If we change our scale, you can see that we have a bunch of noise in our shot. And this is exactly how it works. It is affect by changing the size. Ii just increases the noise, as you can see by this shape. And if we are making it bigger, you can see that it displays using a much bigger noise. Like if we would just change it late this we would have a much bigger noise. So this is what changes where you change this size. Basically our goal is to play with these values to get some random kind of look to each particle, like it's a raindrop which froze in time. So amount I'll set so for this six and size, maybe change a bit higher. 19, it pretty much already looks like a raindrops and change these two values to get the look wish you want. Now I want to add some texture to our interrupts. So we can once again here an Effects Presets type fractal noise, drag and drop on raindrops. And now we have this kind of noise. We can decrease the complexity. So it would be a much less complex. Maybe to one or 1.2 is you can see it already looks like some distorted water drops and hereby changing this contrast, we can punch him to increase this kind of effect. I think we already have some good texture. And finally, I want to add some kind of shadow on our drops. So the way we can do this, we can just select this raindrop, right mouse, click on it and go to layer styles and choose inner shadow. So as you can see, we already added some shadow. Let's open this inner shadow tab. I want to set to 100, so it would be visible distance. We are going to increase maybe to about 22. And with this size property, we can make this edge blurrier. So let's change it 30 or maybe 31. You can also change the angle. I'll set it just from the above. And this already looks like a drops. Okay, now we have our basics for raindrops. Maybe we don't want to focus too much on this raindrop and maybe focused on this one as well. So let's change the distance to a bit smaller value. So we would have some kind of texture to these smaller particles as well. I'll set maybe 216. And the next video we will distort our foolish. So our raindrops will appear into our footage. 9. Final Compositing: Great job. You are still here. If you didn't understand some of the steps, just ask me in the comments and I'll will answer them. So once again, go to File Save. And now what we want to do is to select this 3D camera and our raindrops. Just select one, then press Control and hold or command if you're on a Mac and select this raindrops, go to layer, pre-compose. So let's call it raindrops. So why we wanted to do this is just because we want to have this in one layer. And if we click OK, you can see we have this as one layer, which exactly what we want. So with this layer precompose, we can select any of our layers and make it as one. We can also open it just by double-clicking it. And as you can see, it's still here. Let's just disable these solo buttons and go back to our composition. By the way, all of these compositions are in the project panel here, so you can quickly navigate through them. Let's close explanation for position for now and go back to this test. We DO rain stop because this is our main composition. So here we can just un-solo this layer and you can see that we have already our raindrops in our scene. If we press 0 on our numpad, you'll see that they already in our 3D space. Looks pretty cool. Music and see as close these particles are getting into our camera, the more details we are getting in them. Just because we've added this fractal noise effect as well as turbulent displace. This turbulence displace makes them move a bit. So if you look at this particle, you'll see just a little wiggle. And with this fractal nice, we are given some texture to our raindrops, which are closer to our camera, which exactly what we want. So finally, we need to add the layer, new adjustment layer. And this is basically the transparent layer. This layer we want to use with displacement map effect. So here anaphase and presets, Let's type in displacement map and drag and drop on this adjustment layer. So as you can see, this displacement map effect just displaces, are foolish. Which pretty cool effect on its own. But it's not what we are doing today in the future. I can show you a few things which you can do with this effect. Now you can see on the screen some effects which I created just by using this displacement map effect. And if you want to see classes on these kinds of effects, just leave the comment. If we will get more than 20 comments on these kinds of effects, I'll make a class on it as well. So what we can do with it, we can click on this rough pixel around, which basically covers all the transparent parts as you can see. And what we want to do is to set displacement map layer to rain drops, which we've created. So let's click on it. And as you can see, we already have some displacement only on those parts where we created our particles. If we change these two taps to illuminance like this, it will look only on black and white parts of the image. We don't need such a high number like this. So let's set it. So maybe 30. So we would have a bit of displacement and the second value, Let's set it to minus maybe 200, like this. And now we have pretty solid raindrops effect. But we also want to do is to disable this raindrop composition. In this case, as you can see, a weekend, get rid of this grayish original color and left with this displacement of the, our original video. And if you scroll through, you'll see that it looks much more realistic. We can also improve this look a bit. We cannot see all the raindrops so good. So what we can do is just to set this adjustment layer below this raindrops and change this track matte to alpha matte. So what it does is just worse only in parts where our raindrops. Now we can select this adjustment layer and go to Effect color correction curves. And now if we add some brightness like this, you can see that we are making raindrops a bit brighter. And this is how you can adjust the brightness over the raindrops. If you disable it, you can see how we can increase the brightness and the visibility of our effect. Let's preview what we have for now. So as you can see, we have really cool effect, but we need to have a bit of animation here at the beginning. So let's add some animation. It's pretty easy to do. We just need to scroll through this foolish and find the moment where I'm stopping the rain with my hands. So about here, we want to cut this layer to this moment and press P on the keyboard. While selecting this raindrops, we'll just select it, press P on keyboard, create a keyframe. Then we can just move this keyframe here. Basically we just saved the position of our raindrops. Here at this point in time. And let's just move it up like this. As you can see by moving this second keyframe, clicking and dragging to the left, it goes up in our frame. So in my original video, I just moved this keyframe a bit further. And then move this video a bit down. As you can see by this border of the effect. A bit like this, down, even lower than screen. And then it goes up to this moment where it covers all the screen. So as you can see, we have this kind of motion and this little bounce, this premium. As you can see it already, but looks pretty good, but we need to move them closer together. What we can also do is to select this layer, click on this toggle switch and enable motion blur here. And here. As you can see, it add motion blur to our jobs, which make it look more realistic. So let's try to blend this rain with this rain, which we just read it. Okay, It looks pretty good. But what we can also do is to select this keyframe, move it over here, and go to graph editor. Here. We can change the look to the Edit Speed we have by clicking here. And now just select this keyframe. Click on this handle, and drag it to the left. With this, we can add smooth motion at the end. So it goes like fast and then slow. So you can see it goes faster and slower. Let's see how it looks. In the preview. Just press 0 on NumPy. And as you can see now we have this freeze motion effect. By the way, in this way you can also move your raindrops up and down, as you can see here now on the screen, better way is to not create the keyframes here in this composition. And just delete all the key frames and open here and create those keyframes here. So as you can see, I've just opened this composition. And now we can press B. Once again, skip you, frames, overshoot. And here, move it up. Once again, select this first keyframe, open this graph editor, and move it here with this handle. So now as you can see, we have this kind of effect. Once again, enable motion blur. And here as well. And now we have much more quality effect. And let's just say we want to give some up motion here at the end. Basically just create a keyframe here. And just move it like this if you want to make your particles go up. But as you can see, we've just got here below. So to fix this, we need just to press S on keyboard and make it this a bit bigger like this and see the result. And as you can see, now we have this stop motion and then moving up, if you want to control your raindrops a bit later, like this up. This was a beginner type of this tutorial. And as you can see, all these raindrops are, doesn't make any marks on the ground. I can make also the advanced kind of glass where we can use strap good particular plugin, it's paid plugin. But if you are using After Effects and you already have trapped with particular, you don't want to learn how to make videos like this, which you can see on screen, where we actually have raindrops dropping on the floor, bouncing. And as you can see, even leaving some watermarks on the floor, I can create the advanced kind of class. Just let me know in the comments if you want to see here on Skillshare in my profile, the advanced way to make this effect. Thank you for watching my class. I hope you got inspired to learn after effects with me. You can follow me here on Skillshare. I'll see you next time.
