1. Introduction and Project Details: Everybody, this
is Nick Nabelski. I am the author, illustrator, and publisher of 21 books
currently on Amazon. It's been a long process, but it's been a lot of fun. I have another class
here about how to publish a book
on Canva and KPP. This course is all about the
same principles, however, we're going to incorporate
new tools I tools, such as there are some new AI tools in Canva
that we'll be using. There's also chat GPT which
is an A I text prompt. We're also going to be using Leonardo and possibly mid
journey AI image generators. These programs are robust,
they're easy to use. There's some trial
and error that goes in some of these programs, but I think you'll find that the output is amazing and you'll be
publishing in no time. In our project that
we'll be working on is that I want
you to create a book covered design using Canva as your layout program and any
artwork that you've created, whether it's traditional or
whether it's AI generated. Just to get the feel
for how to create a book design that is
going to be a wow factor. Okay, I can't wait to start
teaching. See you soon.
2. Ideas, Outlines, and Stories Using ChatGPT: Okay, now we're going
to use Chat GPT, which currently the
free version is 3.5 and the paid version
is GPT, four or above. This is one of the
prompts. Now a prompt is basically a textual instruction. It can either say,
write me ten ideas for a children's book or you
can have you suggest that, ask you questions back. Some popular prompts
You could say, for instance, let's just
do the custom one here. Let's say I'm looking for children's book
ideas on bullying. This will be an illustrated for children
ages six to eight. Now the reason why I put
all this information now is I want to be as
specific as possible. I want it to be something
that will give us ideas. Let's see, I'm looking
for children's books. I would say give me ten ideas. Now, I'm not looking for
the titles of the book yet, we're just going to say
give me ten ideas and then you give them some more
information to enter. Not only does it
give me the ideas, but it actually tells
me the book title, which I wasn't expecting,
that tells you all these different ideas and
descriptions of the book. Let's take, let's do this one. Superheroes. Superheroes
against Bullying. We'll copy that, and
I'm going to place it down here and I'm going to
ask additional questions. Now, before we do that, we can also hit the
regenerate button that will regenerate the same
question that I asked it before and just give
us ten new ideas. You can also list them. You
can set them up in a chart. It's pretty cool. I can show you how to do that
a little bit later. Here I got the biggest screen. I'm going to put
this down there. Okay. Using this as our prompt, please create an outline for me for a 24 page picture book. If you want, you can
say and write it. We'll do that later. I'll show you something
really cool picture book. This is just the outline. All right, now we have the idea. You're going to do a
little outline for us. Shows us what the
cover should be, which is really cool too. That even breaks
it down by page. It can't be any
easier than this. Now you can use this
to write your book or you can have a PT
write it for you. I will tell you
that P just changed the requirements that
you actually have to, you have to tell
them if you created, I want to say chat PT, but you have to tell them
that you are using it. It was created with AI. I'll talk a little
bit more about that once we get into
the KD B section. But just keep that in mind, but this is a great
place to start. It gives you page by page
what to put in here. I think it's pretty cool, right? What I like about Chachi
PT is it keeps a thread. And it'll save the thread on the left hand side of
when you're doing your book. Now let's take this into consideration and say I always
do this. I say, thank you. Can you please write a 24 page book with say, four sentences on each page? Here's the kicker in rhyme. Not only will write it for you, it will do it in rhyme. Let's watch this. It's
just really cool. Look at this, This is why people are going
crazy over this stuff. Yeah, you can see the whole
book now is being processed. This is great for beginners. This is great for people. Now, you don't have to
take this verbatim. The more your prompt
is personalized, the better your outcome will be. But let's look at
this. This is amazing. By the way, I'm not going
to publish this book. I suggest you don't either, but word for word, don't
do this word for word. I will copyright it in the
sense that I created it and I think anytime you
create something on chat PT or once we get
into the art part, definitely copyright your work. It's a slippery slope right
now and we're not sure where this is going to go is
who owns the copyrights. But for now,
anything you create, whether it's in chat
PT or on some of the image generation software,
it's considered yours. All right, we're going
to show you now. We can take this whole thing. I'm going to take
this whole thing. I'm going to copy it now. I think you can copy it. There's a button to copy it, but unfortunately copies
the whole thing. Let's see if I can
do this little slow. We're going to take,
this is step one. Now, I'm not saying to do
this or not to do this, but it is available
to you as a tool. We're going to go
onto the next video. Okay, I can't wait
to show you this.
3. Ideas, Outlines, and Stories in Canva: I wanted to show you a
little bit about Canva, Canva, I think not really
sure what it can do, but it has some new AI
features in it that were only beta about a year ago
or roughly around that time. One of them is called
magic, right? Magic right? This is totally based
on their architecture, has nothing to do with GPT. If you notice in my screen, the very bottom
here, bottom right, is Canva Assistant now appears almost on every
page throughout Canva. And you can click on
it and you can do, these are all the AI features
you have. Magic, right? Magic. This window pops up
and it's basically a prompt. It's asking for a prompt. I want you to be as
descriptive as possible. I'm actually going
to use a name, well, let's see, I use another name later on in the
chorus. His name is Alex. I'll say Alex is a superhero who helps the young and vulnerable who vulnerable
against bullying. Now we want to make it clear
that Alex is a young person. We'll say, we'll say maybe a ten year old superhero who helps the young and
vulnerable against bullying. His strengths are that he is kind, helpful, and courageous. They're not really superpowers,
but his weaknesses. And his weakness,
he is gullible. That's it. Now
we're going to say, right, a story about Alex. Alex in rhyme. Let's
see what happens. We'll just say generate here. Hopefully, sometimes Canada will ask you additional questions,
which is pretty cool. This is the bad. Let's see what we have here. It's in rhyme. In a
world full of bullies, stood tall with his cape and his mask. He
answered the call. He was only ten, but he
was no ordinary lad. He had a heart of gold
and that made him glad. This is wonderful.
This is a great story. You're not limited
to just chat PT. This is a small
story, but the good, what I like about, okay,
good thing and a bad thing. The bad thing first, I don't believe it saves as a
thread Like we showed you, I showed you in chat,
PT saves everything. This one canva does save
everything in their file, but it doesn't keep
the thread going. I don't believe we
have this great story. Let's say that we. I
actually like the story. What I'm going to do,
let's this second stanza. I really haven't
even read it yet, but let's take this now. I'm going to go back over
to this canvas assistant. And now I can either
summarize the text, I can expand the text, I can rewrite it if I don't
like it, or I can edit it. That's really cool because it's all right here in front of you. Now, this is only
available in the version. If you do get Canva and
you're doing books, I would strongly recommend
getting the pro version. And I can help you
with that too. I can give you a
nice little promo for that code if you want. That's the writing
part of Canva. Just other people
don't know that. It's a really good story. Now
you can make a bigger one. Okay, we can do the same
thing we did with Chat GPT, we can make a 24 page. I just wanted to
show that to you. That's something that's
built into Canva. It's their own
proprietary AI system. It's not using it
from anywhere else. But that is another
cool feature of Canva.
4. Introduction to Leonardo AI: They give us like 30 different
models to choose from. This is just like
a starting point. You have your personal feed, which for this class I populated it with a couple
of characters you can train, you can train it and
create your own character. And these are considered
fine tuned models. The ones we just saw earlier I Image generation,
that's where it, we'll actually be
creating our artwork. Within that, you can choose how many images you
want to output. Remember, each one of
these costs money, anywhere from one token to, I've seen 30 tokens
on one image. You want to be
careful, especially if you have a free account. Then down here, let me
just back up a little bit. The free account, once
you create something, it's available for the public
to see. There's no privacy. If you get the paid account, you can turn on and off
the privacy right here. If I made this public, everybody could see
what I'm doing. I choose to have it, not public. These are all private images.
These are the dimensions. I always start small because I think if you want to go higher, that much difference,
a little bit of difference, but small. Just to test the waters of what you're doing,
what you want to do. You can also use this slider to get the exact measurement
that you want. All right, then they're
using dream shape or V five. I use dream shape seven. I think this is Asian toddler. Let's just make it a toddler altered detailed toddler
wearing a beautiful, I don't know what a Uct is, I'm just going to put
scarf night lights magically imaginal. This is very well written 32 K resolution detailed
illustration anime manga. This is what the style
they're looking for. Now we have our original
prompt, which I think, yeah, this was the second one, this is the second page. We'll say Alex is an
ultra detailed bring. Let's see what happens.
What's fun about AI? You can just put in
pretty much anything. We have four images
and we're going to generate and see what happens. If you like that
style of painting, that's what's going to show up that you don't really know always what
you're going to get. That's the problem with AI, sometimes get some
amazing images. I think you'll see
that once you get into the community
and see what's there. The other thing I
like about Leonardo, which I haven't
talked about yet, but the community
support is outstanding. Facebook, Leonardo Facebook
group is just phenomenal. They have contests every day. They have all different kinds of things. This is really great. This is the exact same style. This one does melts
my heart right here. The second one, the fingers look like there's five
fingers, which is good. Now, here at the bottom, you can delete the
image if you want. You can download it as is. You can copy it to the clipboard
zoom. I've tried this. Not crazy about this, I
think it's a waste of money. Then you can also remove
the background if you want. I will tell you that Canva does a better job at removing
the backgrounds. This comes really. But
then we have different, they call them up scales. You can do a smooth
up scale for cartoon like images or you can do
details for like photos. I wouldn't worry about
the details so much. And you can do this, it's
going to cost you five tokens. For our purposes. Yeah. For the cover, I would
definitely scale. Let's upscale this,
see what happens. It takes a little bit of time, depending on how
busy the system is. This one is pretty
cool, pretty fast. There's the upscaled image. Let's say you don't
like this background, let's go ahead and
remove the background on the original image. Just to show you what that
looks like, it's two tokens. I'll show you what the
part I'm not crazy about. It's close but not perfect. It might have already
done it for me. No background, there it is. Let's you can see that there's some sections here missing
the sparkler, missing. If I go in right here, you're going to
see near the hair, there's still shading in
there that they missed. What I would do is
I would throw it into Can Canva has a superior, I think the background remover. All right, so we have our
images I'm going to do. Let's go back to the upscale. And I'm going to download
this image, it's pretty fast. All right? And then I'm
going to go back into Canva, now we can get rid of this guy. He's no longer needed. I'm going to load to uploads
over here on the left. Load, there it is,
bring it over. I'm going to show you
something that we can do in the next video. It's really cool. This is not going to be
a good cover, right? First of all, his
feet are missing. But it would make a nice image, Alex feeling you could
actually take this. Going to cut it. I
hope this works. Yeah, we can select, make it a little bit
smaller, maybe 24. Now here I can go in and change
the spacing of the line. So make it, make it bigger. If I wanted to do that, maybe can like that. Alex feeling low and blue. Bullied at school
not sure what to do. It's beautiful, right? We just have to make
it Go off the page a little bit more now. Almost right there. I need a little bit more stuff
there to make it work. But isn't that beautiful?
This is blowing me away. How gorgeous this
is. The kid is cute. Now, obviously you say, well, wait a minute,
I didn't create this. Yeah, you didn't create it, but you're putting it together. You're putting the
whole thing together and you're making your own. Like I said before,
it's a slippery slope. You have to make the decision
of what you want to do. Maybe you want to
change the text altogether or maybe you want to throw this
into procreate. If you have those skills or Photoshop and do
something with it. You can also take him back
over and change this color of his hair and play
around with it. This is the next great thing. This is what I want you
to do for your book. I want you to set up at a couple pages to show
us what you've done. Whether you do a cover for
the project or if you wanted to do one page like this
would be acceptable as well. That's the end of this video. I'm going to show you
another really cool feature of Leonardo AI. And you're going to
love it. Stick around. Don't leave, keep
on working hard. All right? Thank you very much. We'll see you in the next video.
5. Cool Extras in Leonardo AI for Image Generation: Part two of the lesson. Now here we remember we had these really cool
images that came in. I want to show you
something that's built into Leonardo that some of the other software programs
or apps don't have. I'm going to go to
this over here. It says to Image Generation. That's what we did in
the previous video, and we're going to
click on AI canvas. Ai cannabis is like
a totally different, it's a part of
Leonardo, but it's like its own app built into it. It does a couple of
different things. One of the things it can do, what we'll be showing
is on the tool box, on the left hand side,
we're going to upload a picture load from a computer. We have this boy right here. You can see that image
comes in nice and big. What it will ask you to
do is to bring it down. You won't lose resolution
on this image, but a bounding box right here and make sure
the lock is unlocked. Then we have the tool box over here on the
right hand side. This is my pro account. We have something it's called
in paint. Out paint. Out paint is going to
allow us to fill in the box here with additional information
about this picture. We don't have to draw anything. It will draw it for us on the left hand side and
on the right hand side. As far as the images
go, we would just say, okay, give me four variations
or three variations. I'll do three variations. Make sure out paint is selected. This is in paint, we'll be showing you that
a little bit later. And then out paint then. We're just going to keep this at 05:12 Don't worry about these other settings
for right now. And then I'm going to
need a prompt here. I'm just going to put
build out background. It's like something that will help me remind myself
of what it is. And then we're going to
generate, this is only going to take up three
tokens, which is nice. And hopefully there's
enough information there that it will do it at the same time give something really nice there
that's beautiful. That's a real nice,
let's say we need, this is a perfect square, Our book is a perfect squares. That one. Let's see which
one is better, that one. This one Almost the same? Yeah, they're almost the same. We'll just choose that one. Now you have an image that
you can download from here. Just by hitting that, you
can download the artwork. It will come in as
an extended version of the software of the picture here it is real nice
image there that you can use then in painting is a little bit
different in painting is we need to click that off, now we're do the same thing. All the setting is pretty
much stay the same. But now we're going to do is, let's say we wanted to say we wanted to put
a hat on his head. What I would do is
I would go into, I would draw a mask on his head. Now, here is the brush size. You can make it
bigger or smaller. You don't have to be
really too accurate. Just get the head part
here, right there. Now in the prompt, we're going
to say replace with hat. Then we're going to generate it. Now it's going to
give us three options of three different hats. This is a nice little feature, nice little editing feature
right into Leonardo. This one's not too good,
that one's not too good, that's not too good. We're going to cancel that. They did a pretty
lousy job actually. Let's see if I make it a
little bit bigger of an area. Let's see if I can do that. Let's do the same thing. Let's generate it. Let's
see what it gives us. Sometimes with AI,
it's hit or miss. But after you get a hang of
everything, that's better. Now, it did remove some of his hair, that's a
little bit better. That's a little bit
better. His eyes might have changed a little bit. I think that's the
first one of the best. And then we can
accept it or not. That's one part of it. The other part of in painting
is let's just accept this. We can remove things. The clouds with sky. I'm just going to
say fill in with sky and then generate the prompt is now the other
thing you can do. I'll show that to you
in a second here. See that one's good. It got rid of the clouds, gave me something
totally different. What is this thing
on the bottom? I don't know what that is. I guess I didn't fix that. I guess it's like
that. It's strange. So be careful of what
you're asking for. Okay. I just want to look at this. Let's see what this is
on the left hand side. Sometimes it fills it
like with gibberish. There's some things
here, I don't think that's the artist or anything, but sometimes it fills
it with gibberish. I'm going to go and
leave it the way it was. I can even go back, I think, to get rid of that hat
saying this is nice, it's got some other
things built into it, are the things that we're
going to talk about today. I hope this really makes
a difference for you. It's a nice feature, especially building
out the background. I think that's just
amazing that you can create something so
small and keep on on it. Maybe you want to make a map. I haven't tried
that yet, but maybe you want to make a
map and I'll just keep on building
things out from there. Something like in
Lord of the Rings, how it has that map in
different areas of the shire. That's it. This is canvas.
It's called canvas. Yes, this is canvas. Canvas. It's in beta.
6. Midjourney.AI and More!: I just wanted to show you
the four newest elements. We're going to go into
image generation. If this is an already selected
DXL fine tuned model, go to the drop down menu
and you can find it here. There's a list of all the
other fine tuned models. We want to make sure that
you have DXL 0.9 It is beta, but let's take a look here. You can see that
there are some images populated in my account. Here are the new elements.
This is really cool. Make it smooth. Here they now they have this thing
called coloring book. Folk illustration, Kids
illustration and tune in anime. Now, at the moment you can do, well, you could do
all four if you want, but you can combine them also. But for this instance, we're going to do one at
a time and we're going to do coloring book. This is a very simple, we have this, I've
already generated this. I'm not going to
generate this one again, but I will show you
the other ones. This one was coloring book
came out really nice. If we go into folk art
and unclick that one, let's see what we
can generate here. Here is folk art, cool. It is very folk almost
paper cut quality. We'll go back into elements and we'll click Illustration.
Kids Illustration. Confirm this time. Do three. Let's generate that. Take a
look at what that looks like. Obviously, this won't be
a coloring book anymore, but you get the
idea of the style. The coloring book one is
just for coloring books. It creates coloring
book art there. That's really nice
illustrations, it's not as fine detailed. Then the last one is tune in anime which is
really high quality. What do you see? This?
It's going to look like almost three
dimensional artwork. It really opens up a
lot of possibilities. I'd like to say this, if you're not an illustrator,
it's wonderful, right? Because it's going to
give a new opportunities, all the new artwork to you. If you are an artist, don't get scared about this, because it's going to
make your life better. As you can use your own artwork, you can expand on your artwork. You can do image to image. There's a lot of
stuff you can do, but here you can
see the quality. A lot more details,
still line art. If I didn't make
a coloring book, let's just change
all this stuff. Get rid of two D. In
fact, let's just do this. Let's see a book about a three D image of butterflies, see what happens, spflies, and then we have tune in anime. Let's see what happens. It might get really crazy good here. Art work a lot better, isn't it? Also, there's a
bunch of them here. You get the idea. You can just have a lot of fun
if you combine them. You can combine the
elements and have a lot of fun with this look
for the next video, and I'll talk about the other
elements, which is insane.
7. New AI Tool in Canva: Magic Expand!: Go into our image generator now, we're going to get
rid of this because we don't want that anymore. We're going to add this prompt. I always like to add
my negative back in. Now we're going to add elements, but we're going to
get off of this Dl. I'm going to choose
absolute reality. By the way, when I'm
in kids illustrations, the last video, make sure
all these are shut off. Photoreal prompt magic alchemy because they're for
high end images. Definitely, I would strongly suggest you do the
negative prompts. Now, I've asked Leonardo
myself if they can incorporate negative prompts in the front end or the back end, I guess you'd say. There it is. It's pretty nice, huh?
Beautiful images. Now, what if we take
it one step further? Let's see all these
different elements. They add some more. My God, I think they
added another one. Now we have 12,
13 elements here. You can choose, you can
combine them again, if you want to make
it ebony and gold. See what it looks like. All right. I hope you
have fun with this. I have to do another video just on Leonardo because
it's so complex. But basically, if you
follow my instructions, you should have no problem. The only problem you might have is with the
negative prompts. If you don't include those,
you get some crazy images. The support group is phenomenal. Oh my gosh, that looks amazing. Look at this, they even did
like a character sheet. Is that insane or All
this is gibberish. All the text, look
how gorgeous that is. That could be, that could
be a book cover, something. And it's beautiful. What do
you think elements Leonardo? It's pretty amazing. I am
adding another video on dolly. Dolly is up their game. They added dolly three. And so look for that next.
8. New AI Tool in Canva: Magic Grab: All right. So I promised
that I would do one video on dolly version
three from open. I now it's going to
look different, right? This is not the actual program. What I'm using now
is the free version of Do in Microsoft. If you have a account, if you have a Microsoft
account, Outlook email, and you don't even have to
have an Outlook E mail, you can, I have, this
account is under my Gmail. But what's really
cool about this now, they only give you, I believe it's 100 credits per week and then
it will recharge. I'm down to 38, so I
don't have much to go. I'm not sure the parameters of when it starts
and when it ends, but I'm hoping to
get another 100. And what's good about being is that each I could
do four images. It only cost me one credit, or two credits, I would say. It's not quite there
where Leonardo is, but I just completed a book. I can't show you right now
because it's not printed yet. But I just completed a book using every image
now is from Dolly. In that book, I didn't
use Leonardo at all. What I really liked about
it, it was consistent. The styles I chose, it gave me consistent output. I didn't put one negative
prompt in there, There was no abnormalities
early up their game. I just used it for
images for children. A children's book
that I'm working on. Let's try this. I'm going to put in a very
simple create an illustration, an illustration of a duck
in a leather jacket. And then I'll, I could
try Pixar style. Let's, I don't like putting people's names in
the prompts because it's, I don't know if
they're getting I don't think they're getting
royalties for that. I believe that
every time someone puts a name in a prompt, that person should get a
royalty. What do you think? I think that's the way
they should do it. Okay, Leather Jacket in Bohemian style or
something like that. Bmi, Bohemian
Bohemian style art. I don't know if I keep
on doing this now. Let's say I want to this, let's say I like this one. It's really slow. There we go. When
that thing comes up, you know that it's working. This is dolly three through
Microsoft being you can get it through open but then it's 20 bucks
a month. I believe. You get access to
both dolly three and a PT 4.5 I think that's
the latest version in 4.0 Did my entire last book all in Dolly 32 months ago. You wouldn't hear me saying
that because I didn't like the artwork coming from
Dolly. A big difference. I just wanted to
show you, show you that really quickly. This
is the free version. I'm not sure if it's
temporary, if it's permanent, but you have access to GPT four and Dolly three
through being. All right, enjoy.
9. New AI Tool in Canva: Game Changer: Okay. Before we move on
to the KDP section, I wanted to discuss some other apps that are
available to you. This site that I'm in right
now is called Discord. Almost like the old
fashioned Bolton boards where you add lot of people
in this at the same time. This is an animation software, Discord Pka, Leonardo has
also a Discord account. I have a Discord account here, you can find out more
updates on what's happening. It's the same thing you
write in the prompt below what you're
looking for By going to, if you look on the
left hand side, there's these challenges here. You can click on this one, find out what the challenges for the day and see what
people are doing. They give nice prizes. First place is 500 tokens. Second place, 300 and so on. And that's Leonardo. I don't usually use the
discord for Leonardo, but if you wanted to
get into mid journey, mid journey, I think
it's only available. I may be wrong on
Discord channel, that's where most
people do their stuff. They have Newbie folders here where you can, this
is really cute, you can put in, this is very
simple, very simple prompt. Let's see what they started. Oh, okay, they started
with this image. They type that image
in in they're prompt, and they got the
really cute faces. See what these other ones are. The reason why I
won't be able to show you anything in here except
for what the public feeds, is that you have to
have an account. Right now, I don't
have an account. They have a trial. Let's see
what the trial gives us. I don't think it's maybe
a seven day trial. I think I've already
used that up. Here we go, 25 minutes lifetime. Oh my gosh. That's horrible. Yeah. They don't really give
you much of anything here. Even their basic plan. See if I can make this larger. The basic plan is $10 And
the basic plan for the year, if you do Leonardo, it's $10 You only get
200 minutes of P time. How many images? I guess that's the
way they do it. They don't do it by images. And then $30 15 hours a month
pro plan is much better. But I tell you, I just think it's a little bit stingy to
be honest with you. But that's mid journey. The output, I think it's
almost equal to Leonard notes. The way it works here
is you just type in a prompt at the bottom. Best way to do this is to see what other people are doing. If I go into the newcomer rooms, they go the newbie room, let's say there's something
here that you like. You can do the same thing,
you can copy it and write in your own prompt. To me, it's just
a little archaic. I might be wrong, Like I said, here's the most recent images
that are hit right here. So yeah, the quality
is almost identical. I really can't do
anything because I don't I don't have an
account with them. I'm talking about this is
not a good choice here. We don't want to do playground. Do we want to do playground? I.com I did this once before. I can't believe I did it again. There we go. This is playground. Images again are very similar
in quality as they are in mid Journey and Leonardo
here, these are rising stars. This is the community.
Same thing. You can select any one of
these and you can find out what the prompt you can edit, copy, prompt, remake,
that type of thing. Then they have
different categories. These are mostly animals, Anime which is
cool fashion food, all the way down on my feet. I don't know if I don't have
anything in here right now. You can also rate images. When you rate it, you
can get some bonus. You can get some bonus time
or something, Bonus credits. I think if you want to pay, I think it's $12
as well per month. And you can see what
they're doing here. They're doing almost identical. Most of these AI programs
are around the same price. They're around 12
to $15 per month. You can tell that the
quality is really good. Playground. I, another
option besides mid journey. Right now it might be
free. Leonardo and even mid journey,
probably your creation. Sometimes if you're
looking for a text, they'll put in gibberish. Well, this is an AI
generator that will actually allow you to create text
either as a graphic or a logo, and it does a really
good job of this. We can see here, they also
have other pictures as well, but their claim to fame
really is the text. And being able to
include text in your images, let's
just try this. We're going to put
Alex Bullying, superhero Sc for a poster. Create a young boy in cape
and superhero clothes. See what happens. I don't know, I haven't used this in
a really long time. Let's just see what happens. Right now, it's free,
which is nice, I believe. I don't think I'm
paying for this. As you go on and
more and more of these AI programs you're
going to see that. All right, so this is
a very simple basic. I wouldn't even, I guess that's to get more
descriptive against Buller. I don't even know if
that's the right word. We can go back and do more. Let's just say let's do
this one and we remix it. We do a three D render,
then we generate that. I think I have to wait a minute. I have to wait 73 seconds before I do it again,
but you get the idea. This is ID gram and
that is another one. There's a lot of AI
programs out there. Just go to Google and do a search on AI image
generators, see what comes up. But they build around the same principles
that are in Leonardo. So if you master or
just even start using Leonardo to get a feel
for how it's all set up, you can probably jump
into almost anything. All right, guess what's next? Kdp. And there are some new features in KDP,
which we'll talk about.
10. Create a Cover in Canva: I'm in Canva. If
I click on this, I edit Photo, and now
I can grab a text. The text is Gobble Go Grill. But what's cool
about it is I can now take that text
and remove it. I can cut it, It's gone. Oh my God, this is a. What happened to delete
now, I can put my own. This is great, this is
amazing, this is really cool. Canva, you did it.
11. Six Remarkable AI Tools from Canva: I have a series of images that I brought in from Dolly three. I'm going to bring
that one in right now. You can see what this can do. Now I think this is perfectly
compositioned composition. But you can see this is my
border where I can go up to my area where my picture
can go to the margins. All I do is I click on, I click on the
photograph or the image. I go to Edit Photo, and I
choose Background Removal. One is one button click and
it removes my background. It really handy, See
that, is that beautiful. Really quick, really fast, and the detail is
super, really good. Now let's take a
look at something. There's a little mistake
here. We can fix it. Because I can go into
it really closely, you can see that his eyes
are also transparent. If you look here on the left hand side of the configuration, there's some adjustments
we can make. We can go into the
restore section, which is this selection
with our tool. We can now restore
his eye color. There is nothing that
has been removed here. In fact, we probably want to go around here
again just to make sure that nothing else was
removed inadvertently. Everything else
looks pretty good. I probably would make
a Ted smaller and just go in here and
make sure that this also is not transparent. I can increase if I
can do that or not. But everything else looks pretty good right here, I can fix that. Not too many of the other software programs
do this for you. You can definitely
make this smaller. And it might have taken, for instance, the neck. The only thing I
don't like about it, I can't hit shift
a straight line. I have to just do it by eye and that sometimes
it's just extra work. See how nice that is? That is background remover also appear. You can see that there's some
things that got taken out. This will be covered
up by a border anyway. So it doesn't really
matter that it's so precise Then down here, in fact, I don't
even know if there's a stage here or what it is. I can just fill
that right back in. In this case, I would
do a brush size but you get the idea,
isn't that nice. Enter and then you'd be done. Now I'm not going to do that. I'm going to go back here and we're going to do an undo or just get rid of
this picture altogether. Cool. But I'm going to do undo. This is for demonstration. Only. Bring back my size,
you can see it better. Now, here is, that's
background mover. I didn't want that
microphone there. It looks strange. I go into go in a magic
eraser and remove this. And it's going to be
thinking it's better to pick your brush size first
because it's going to think it's going to process
link this a little bit smaller and now I can go in
and remove this mic stand. Might clip off his tentacle. I'm not sure I got it now. I can just put it in another one that seems more reasonable. I can actually add this
microphone right here. That's a nice feature. What it does is it completes the background
so that you can then continue on with your work. So that's another one. All right, now I can also, we want to use magic edit. Let's say we want to add a hat. We're just going
to go over here, continued hat, it give you so much flexibility. Here's the different hats,
that's the woman's hat. Other hat, if you don't like it, generate nude results, just keep going till you
find the one that you want. I should probably write big
hat because there you go, that's got a beret, some really funky things here. That's probably the best one. Go back here and
I'm just going to next is probably my
favorite magic grab. Magic grab will take your, your foreground image and
remove it from the background while still keeping
the background intact. It's pretty amazing. So we're just going to
click on this image and click Grab with one button. You don't have to do
much, you just sit here, be thinking a lot. Now the only thing
that might slow it down is Cannava just announced these programs and
it made a huge difference. It took everything, All the people, there's the background. But isn't that
cool? Let's say you wanted a totally different
background, you can do that. Now with this, you
have a background. You're not losing the
background, which is amazing. I like this a lot
and I use it a lot. Picture of me, I have some text here and say I
wanted to remove that text. I click on Edit
Photo, Grab Text, and what it will
do is it'll turn that text now that's
embedded in the picture, a text box that you want
to delete and that's gone. That's n. I don't
know if it will do this or probably
won't do that little carrot up to down carrot. But it does everything else. It does a great job removing
text that's unwanted. It's a great tool. I strongly recommend you use all
six of these tools. They'll definitely
make your life easier and I can't wait
to see what you do.
12. KDP Publishing Updates (AI and Categories): Everybody. By now in this lesson, you should have learned
a little bit about chat GPT or if you had
your own script, you have your own script. You could have created Word
or pretty much anything. Canva, I use canvas. So I do some artwork here, but most of my work
here is just layout. I use canvas for layout because it's got a really nice system. We're going to show you
that system right now. We're going to go up
to the very top right and say create a design. I'm just going to
do my custom at the very bottom of
that pop up window. It says custom size
at the very bottom. And I'm going to make sure you select this first increments, we'll be doing a inches. We want to do 8.5 " by. I'm going to make
this a square book, 8.5 ", and we're going
to create a new design. Now let me just tell you that when
you're creating a book, you need two files. You need the interior PDF. You need the cover,
which is set up a little bit differently
than this file here, and I'll show you that
in the next video. Also, what I like
about Canva, so easy, so intuitive even
for beginners or intermediate learners, is
that what I usually do? Now, this is the default. I'm not sure if this
is remembered from my last book or if
it's the default, But go to the file at
the very top here. Go to File and View Settings. We want to make sure
that every single one of these is checkmarked. Show rulers and guides. Add guides, show margins,
show print, plead. All right, now this is
a very basic lesson, but I want you to understand
how easy this can be. If you see there's a dotted line in the middle here
that is your margin. This area between the page and that data line
is your margin. Anything? Let's see if I
can get a quick arrow. I love how fast this
is. So I have an arrow. Anything here in this
area is the live area. This middle part right here, From here to here. You can see it's highlighting
itself, it's the live area. Anything in here is
called the margin. This is the trim, 8.5 by 82. Then beyond it is
our bleed bleed. If you don't know what bleed is, if you take a regular book, this color goes off of
the page all four ways. This is called the full bleed as opposed to this being
just a white page. There's no bleed in this at all. You can also have a half bleed if I have
any in this book. But you can also do a blade where it's just top part is white
and bottom part is color. That's important because what's great about this is let's say, let's pretend this was
the graphic right here. You can see how it
goes off of the page. Well, that means that edge
will have color on it. And it's going to
make for a nice, when the printer
goes to cut this, give me a nice straight
line of color. Now K DP is very strict. Canva so much, but you want to definitely heap
anything beyond this. Maybe probably a half
an inch to the edge. It's dangerous
because KDP will ding you when you go to
print your final file. It will tell you you're too close to the edge and
you'll have to redo it. I'd just like to keep
it in this big area in the middle unless I
want it to bleed. Having said that, we I can't show I don't think I
have any books that I can show you this. Let's see if we. Here's one. This is a template
that comes with it. It's a very simple book. You can see though that
this is the title. This graphic here bleeds
off, You see that, But this one does if you
want the barn to show, you definitely want to bring
it into the live area. If you want it to go off the screen or off the
page, then do that. But if you don't really care, I would keep it
in the live area. Now, let's just
use this template as template for
us here on Canva, you can say front cover. Now, I told you before that's a second file that
we will be creating. But just for purposes of showing you this page, one
would be the cover, the next I would add a page and it's very easy to
do that. Just add it here. The next page can either be blank or it can be a title page. The title page is
usually just my logo, or you could do a miniature
version of your book. And I'd like to
put my publishing information right there
in my website as well. Next, you can either call
this blank or title page. Now. Some people put the
copyright page first, some people put the
title page first. I would just look at a bunch of different books and you can
decide what you want to do. We will need to add a
copyright page at some point. It's usually page two or three. In this course, I will give you a PDF file that you can
just take it as it is. It's a very simple, I found
out on the Internet page, tells the reader what rights
you have to the information. I'm going to assume that you know copyright what that means, but it is essentially
give you the right to make copies for
yourself to sell. What I also do also put
in the copyright pages. I will also include
my ISBN number. We'll talk about
more of that one. When we get to KDP, I also put the copyright notice of either my company name
or my personal name. Now, this is a very
simple template. I'm not going to show
too much of this, but you can see
there's a warning. If you can look at page seven,
what stands out to you? The text is too
close to the edge. We want to put that in. The other assets I'm not really concerned about that
looks intentional. I'm going to leave
that the way it is, but I think the text definitely, you'll get dinged if that's
too close to the edge. Some other things with Canva, this is creating a new page. This is deleting the page. This is duplicating the page. Let's say you like this way. This is set up, you
want to duplicate it, it's exact duplicate
of the previous page. You can lock a page if you decide that I don't
want to mess with this, I don't want to
make any mistakes. And you can lock
it, unlock that. You can also move
them down or up also. This is going to be a really
quick lesson on Canva. There are different
viewing you can do It look almost like a
storyboard here. I wouldn't call it thumbnail, I would call it more
like a storyboard. You can see the flow of it. You can move pages
around very easily. It's easy to use. Down here, if I click
out of this grid view, you can look at the thumbnail, which at the very bottom,
this little carrot. Now you're looking at
the thumbnails and it's really quick to look
at that as well. It also has a layering
system, which is nice. You can click on Position. You can do it two
different ways. You can either do it
through arranging it. It's either forward, back
to the front, or the back. Or I like to do this
because I'm used to, if you're used to using layers, that makes the most
sense for you. But you can see how
many different objects, how many different assets or
elements are on this page. These are all taken
from element, which is the second
tab on the left, the design elements, and
you can look for anything. It's got a huge database
of images creator images you can get. Let's see if I want scarecrow
or something like that, scarecrow, then it's going to give me graphics of scarecrows, photos of scarecrows,
videos of scarecrows. You can put in an audio of a scarecrow song, I
guess you can do that. This is a great location for putting everything
together once you have all of your artwork or you can also do some
different things as far as getting either
your own artwork or third party artwork. I'm not going to talk
about the cover next. We're going to stop here
and I'm going to show you more about elements and uploads. Right back.
13. Project: Upload a Cover Design: Okay. We talked about, at first we were thinking about how we were
going to do this. Either we could bring it in all together, which made sense. But the only problem with
bringing it in all together, like doing a copy all
or that type of thing, it wouldn't be set up like this. And I think this is a
better way for it to be set up instead of copying the
whole thing over to Canva, since it's already saved here. Anyways, as long as this is a free account on your account, you can just simply do this. We can go, this is page two. We can just copy here. Go back into Canva. Okay, so now we can bring
in that one page, right? Remember this is going
to be our cover. Just for temporary purposes of showing you how to do this, we won't print this cover, but this is what we're
going to say, cover. The next page can
either be the copyright or get the copyright page. Well, you know what,
I'll do a title page. Let me do one more and that, remember that's going to
be the copyright page. These are just markers to remind you what's coming on that page. This is our first
page right here. We're going to go
back to our text and we're going to paste. Now we have just the one, we
don't have to worry about the whole thing
coming over because we know that it's
saved in chat GPT. You can set up this in
several different ways. You can either put
it at the bottom of your page with your graphic, you can have a picture
of a boy here. And that's all in
elements on Canva. The other thing that
we talked about, we're just about to talk
about are third party apps. Those are built, I think
Pixabay is built into Canva. But there are also other, these are royalty free images. You can just say Cartoon
Boy for instance. The problem with this is the
graphics are hit or miss. Let's say this was Alex. We would save this
for the next page. Again, this is just a rough, doesn't have to be
a final images. This is just to get an idea
of how your book will be laid out. All right. Hi, meet Alex Low and Blue Bully School,
Not sure what to do. You could have that be
one page and cut this, and then have this
on the next page. What I would do, especially
if this is a rhyme, make sure that they're
on a new line. Make sure the rhymes are at the end of the
sentence, like that. Same with this one. Just better. Now you can either put the text
down at the bottom. You could put at the top,
you could put it in. You go back to elements, you can get a thought balloon, thought bubble, or a speaker. That type of thing occurs. It should be white, I
think. Don't you think? I think you can put the border
as being, this is cool. You can have a border that, although that doesn't really
fit. Do I wouldn't do that. But if it's a comic book, sometimes they put text up
there. It's your choice. Also, you can make the font like a graphic. Do something fun. In the tab over
here on the left, you have all these different I've done in one book like this. You can make it smaller, put it over here, maybe
make him go over here. These are just some ideas,
something like that. Now this one's grouped
with this bottom piece. I would just get rid
of that and then put your stuff in there if
you wanted to meet Alex. That's something to consider. Okay. That's one way. That is with elements
or was that elements? I think came from Pixabay. Other ones that are available
to us through Canva, but you can also pick up, you can go to these sites. Splash is one splash.com. Pexels, another one. These are all photograph, it's those high end like giddy images.
But these are free. You can make an attribution
of where it came from, who did it or you don't have to. You can make a donation
or you don't have to. It's cool for the people
who are just starting out, there's some really
nice images in there. The other way of course, is through an image
generator, Leonardo do. That's my go to right now because their free
account gives you 150, pretty much 300
credit every day. Whereas mid journey, I think you only get like 15 credits a day, which is not enough to
really test out the waters. Leonardo is a little
cheaper as well. I believe you get
for $12 a month, you get 8,500 credits. That's what I'm on
right now. I have a professional
account mid journey. They give you like 200
credits for ten bucks. I'm not here to
bash mid journey, but I'm just telling
you that Leonardo, once we get into
that, you'll see what a wonderful program it is.
14. Create a Cover in Canva: All right. All right. All right. All
right, here we are. This is the part of these, we're getting close to the end. We are going to
create the cover. As I told you way
in the beginning, the cover is a
different set up than the regular part of the
internal part of the book. There are some different
parts to this. Remember we talked about
how to set this up? It's basically double. It's 8.5 by 8.5
It would be 17 by 8.5 The first number
is the x axis. The second number is the y axis. The first number is length. All right? X and
y is the height. Now the only thing that's
different is I add a little bit more padding
so you might see that it's 17.5 I tend to do a little bit more
for a bigger bleed. I can give you that you
can actually go on KDP. There's a place
where I'll send you the link on where to look at what page size you should be using for the book size
that you're printing. Here is one of my books. I use the background
feature in Canva, there's some backgrounds here, you can change that,
you can click on that. Something busy like
that. Don't do that. You want to keep it
nice and even keeled. This is the little angry marker. It's the first of a series
of emotion driven books. I like to put my other
books on the back page. If you look at this
really closely, if I hover around
this first part, you see that each one of there are several
elements on this page. This was drawn by me in
procreate this text. You might remember
from this one. I told you I used it. It's
from this one right here. Cold, smooth, and tasty. The same principle.
I like that a lot. In fact, I use it
throughout the whole book. It's consistent theme with me. I have this same font throughout
all my other books too. Some of the stuff
was from Canva. The house, I believe
is from Canva. This guy here is from Canva. That little house is from Canva. Except for the borders. Everything else is
created in procreate. What do we got here? We've
got the same set up. We have the margin, right? This is the margin.
We have the bleed. This background bleeds.
It's a full bleed. Remember that full
bleed then I dragged over a guide in the middle. That's for me to figure out where everything
is going to go. Even though this is the cover, we still have to think
about the margin. There's going to be a margin
right here in the front. We want it to be nice and clean. I have this additional graphic going off
the page as well. The only thing that you
really have to worry about is you can even make
this blank if you want. But I always like to put a
little bit of information about the book in this space. Right here, Right here. Who, what happened? There we go. This space right
here is reserved. You want to keep that blank? Have nothing in there
because KP will put the barcode and also the
SPN number in there. We'll talk about that
more in the KDP section. When you go to print,
you share, you download. We don't want,
remember we want PDF, PDF, standard PDF, print. That'll give us the
highest resolution. I use RGB for ebooks and
I use CMYK for print. Cmyk is only available
in the Pros. You really should get the
pro version if you're making lots of books
because this just outweighs so many different
things, then that's it. And you'll be saving
as a PDF file, that is one of the files you
will be uploading to KP. We'll get to that in just
about 10 minutes or so. That's the cover I'll
see in the next video.
15. KDP Publishing Updates (AI and Categories): All right, I'm onto KP now. P, I have another course in skillshare that talks
about Canva and KDP. All right? It's before most
of the AI information, it's a totally different course. But what I suggest you do, if you want to get to know KDP and really understand
how it all works, definitely watch
that class I got. I have five videos on how
to pick your keywords, your categories, how
to set up your page, how to set up your account instead of
regurgitating, all that. I just wanted to showcase
now what is different KDP. There are some
differences now in 2023, the biggest change is basically what this
course is all about. And that is A, I, I don't see it as a problem,
I'll tell you why. All they want to do
is they want to be able to create a better
experience for the reader, their clients, or customers. All they want you
to do is tell them if your content is AI
generated or AI assisted. And when we click on
this part right here, AI generated information
created by Leonardo Chap Canva. Or images, texts
or translations. Okay, Created by
artificial intelligence. Then there's something
called AI assisted. That means that you created
it and you might have used it as you might have
used it to edit, or refine, or error check, or proof it or whatever
to improve it. Ai assisted doesn't
need to be mentioned. I suggest you go over this
area of the bookshelf in the guidelines to understand
it more thoroughly. But my understanding is that I generated if you create
something in Leonardo, if it's written by Che EPT or
if it's written by Canada, you definitely want to say that. Okay. You don't want them
to come after you and say, hey, you're booted from the system and I wouldn't
take the chance. I assisted is content
you created yourself, but you used AI based tools to help you or assist you
in producing the work. What I did is I went to Amazon and took a look
at some of these. This is what a reader would see. I coloring book, I generated
coloring books for all ages and skill levels
over here generated everything here is really
just to show the created by, if it's original artwork, if it's original text, or if you did some
AI generation, I don't see a problem with it. I think it's more or
less just extra thing you have to fill out once
you're in bookshelf. That the other thing
that's new and some controversy about this with many authors that I've
been reading about is the categories it used to be. You get two categories all then now they've changed
the three categories. You can edit your
categories here and you can go through and decide
what your categories are. Prior to this, what happened was they gave you
two categories and they were just really
boring categories, very generalized. Somebody figured out a hack where you could E
mail KDP and say, I want these ten categories. A lot of them are super narrow down focused
niche categories. Reason why they did that. It was faster for them and
easier for them to become a number one best
seller if it was a really fine niche for their book, they
did away with that. I think it was probably
a major hassle for them. They came up with this new
idea for three categories. What I've heard is
that there's a lot of controversy that there's
some duplicates, there's some ghosting that they're listed, but
they're not there. I think that there's more
and more coming out on that. As soon as I know more
information, I'll post it here. But for now, this is how you would just select
your categories. That's the way it is. The only two things
that I've noticed that are new and different here is that there's one
other thing they did. They raised their
printing price. Used to be, I think 365
for a 24 page book. I think it's now 420. You have to charge more and
you might get a lower margin. Now, Amazon is probably the
biggest bookseller out there, but it's not the only
bookseller out there. There's Eye Books,
which is Apple, and there are some other
publishers like Book Baby, where you can print a book. There wouldn't necessarily,
just because you do it here, I wouldn't stop doing it here. But look at other choices
that are out there. There's some other types
of books out there, but this is the cheapest. No money down. You
don't have to pay a cent unless you're getting
a proof of your book. You can order author books
for cheaper than a reader could do it if you
go to a school or something and you can
bring some books with you, I still use it because it's
very convenient for me. I set it. Forget it. If you really want to
make an impact in Amazon, you have to do advertising. Unfortunately, I will not
cover advertising here. I've always broke even
with advertising. I've never done really
well with advertising, but I have a lot of friends, they're doing really well in the six figures with advertising that you'll have to figure that out on your own. But that's pretty
much this course. It's really about how to help
you become a better writer, how you can become a better, that's much better illustrator, but you can produce
books quicker, more efficiently, and really come out with some
amazing things. I will once in a while add
some more videos here and there to supplement
what I already have. But this is the
gist of the class. I hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to see your projects.
16. Project: Upload a Cover Design: All right, this is Nicks,
the final project. I want you to upload a 17 by 8.5 if that's
your book size. If your book size
eight by eight, then do 16 by eight. I want you to have the front cover on
the right hand side, the back cover on
the left hand side. Leave room for ISBN and Barcode. Put your website in there
and anything that you want, I want it to be laid out nicely, just like I taught you about
margins and everything. And then do a screenshot
and upload it to the site. You can use artwork from Canva. You can use artwork from Leonardo or Mid
Journey or Dolly or whatever else you find that
the artwork is useful. Then let me see what you've done and I hope you've
enjoyed this class. Please leave a
comment and a review. I really appreciate
it, Good or bad, and I'll see you
next time. Bye bye.
17. BONUS: How to Build Consistent Characters and Fine Tuned Models in AI: Have you ever found
it challenging to maintain consistent characters
in your illustrations? It's a common hurdle,
especially when you're working on a series
or a children's book. The characters
appearance, style, even their personality,
need to remain steady throughout various
scenarios imposes. Consistency is crucial not only for the visual
coherence of your work, but also for the narrative
integrity of your story. But here's some good news. This challenge can be tackled effectively using an advanced
tool called LeoneroAI. This artificial intelligence
software can be your ally in creating and maintaining character consistency
in your illustrations. It can help you establish
a initial prompt, explore prompt variations,
train your model for a high level of consistency
and avoid repetition. Are you ready to
conquer character consistency in your
illustrations? With the help of Leonardo AI. Let's explore how AI can help
us solve this challenge. The first step towards achieving consistent characters is to establish a clear
initial prompt. This is no small task. It's like setting the stage for a play where every
detail matters. Your initial prompt should be as detailed and specific
as possible, outlining the key features and
context of your character. Think of this as
a blueprint that Leonardo AI will use to
create your character. For instance, you might say, create a character named
Danny with dark brown hair, big eyes wearing a blue
hat, sitting in the jungle. Notice how every
detail is specified. The character's name,
physical features, clothing, and even the environment they're in are all clearly laid out. This level of detail gives
Leonardo AI a clear direction and helps maintain consistency
in the character's design. Before you even begin to explore different poses or scenarios
for your character, this initial prompt is crucial. Remember, this
initial prompt sets the foundation for
your character's appearance and environment. Now let's delve into the
technique of prompt variations. As we navigate the fascinating world of character creation, it's paramount to
maintain the identity of our characters even as we explore different
scenarios or poses, the character's core identity
should remain the same. For instance, let's go
back to our friend Danny, the dark haired, big eyed
character in the blue hat. Now we want to see Danny
in a new scenario, say playing with a puppy. Our prompt could be Danny
wearing a blue hat, playing with a puppy.
Illustration children's book. Notice how we maintain
Danny's identity including the blue hat while
introducing a new action. That's the art of
prompt variations. Remember, consistency is key. Even as you introduce
new actions or context, always refer to the character's
established identity. This not only makes your
characters more relatable, but also reinforces their
appearance and personality by consistently referring to your character's
established identity. You reinforce their
appearance and personality. If you're still unsatisfied
with the results, you might consider
training a custom model. This isn't as daunting
as it might sound. It all starts with gathering
a substantial collection of reference images that feature the character you're
trying to bring to life. These images can vary, imposes, expressions
and scenarios, but they all should
clearly represent your character's unique
features and style. Once you've collected
these images, you can feed them
into your AI model. This process is often referred
to as training the model. During this phase, your AI learns from the data
you've provided, picking up on patterns and nuances that define
your character. As the model trains, it becomes more proficient at generating images that match your characters look and feel. This can result in
higher level of consistency tailored to
your exact requirements. Remember, the more reference
images you provide, the better your results
will be training a custom model gives you more control over your
character's appearance. Finally, crucial to avoid using the exact same prompt with the same seed, you
see repetition. While it may seem
like a safe play can actually be a pitfall. When you repeat the
same exact prompt with an identical seed, you'll end up with the same set of images over and over again. It's like replaying
a movie scene. The actors, the actions, the background, everything
remains the same. So how do you keep
things fresh while still maintaining
character consistency? The trick lies in making subtle variations
to your prompt. Let's say we stick with
our character Danny. Instead of asking
for Danny wearing a blue hat sitting in
the jungle every time, let's try something like
Danny with his blue hat. It's exploring the
jungle this way, the essence of Danny
remains the same, but the scenario changes, breathing new life into
each illustration. By following these steps, you can streamline the
process of achieving consistent character
designs in Leonardo AI. Now let's talk about the set. What I might talking about
when I talk about seed. Seed is like a fingerprint
of each picture. Each picture gets a seed. If you use the same set
over and over again, chances are you're going to get the same looking image
over and over again. You can use that to
your advantage or you might have some
problems with it later on. Until next video.
Happy illustrating.
18. New Tool from ChatGPT: Canvas: Hey, everybody. Welcome
back to the class. This is a bonus section
for Chat GPT 40, and we'll be introducing
a new tool called Canvas. And I hope this
will help you with your writing much better than the actual free version
of what is available to you in just the
regular hat GPT, both in the four oh version and also the plus and 3.5 version. But now in four oh, we are able to use this
new tool called Canvas, and I will be showing that to
you in just a few seconds. So here is our
typical page as far as what is available to us
when we open up Chat GPT. This is, like I said,
a free version, but it is the most recent
latest version called 40. And so with this free version, you can see I already
have a thread going on my left
hand side over here, and you can see that
this is actually a very, very long thread, but there are some personal things here
that I want to keep personal, and so I'm not going to
show you my entire thread, but it is about 50 or
60 articles and chats. And so what's great about
the thread is it kind of keeps a memory of what
you've already done. So if I were to just say,
I'm not going to do it, but if I were to say, write a British mystery novel for me or write a British
mystery summary. I wouldn't even have to tell you my title because
it would go back to the thread and kind of pick
up where it started in the past and just
take that information and go through and
give me my summary. So that's a really cool
feature. I love the thread. I don't believe the free
version of Grock does that, and I don't know of any of
the other AIs that do that, which is a great feature. But the reason
we're talking today is it's a little bit more
advanced, and down here, you can see that there are
some things you can do, you can attach files, which are other
information that you can present to CHAT EPT
to take a look at. You can search the web or
you can view the tools. Now, the tools, I'm not going to talk about
this one or this one, but we're going to
talk about Canvas. And that's specifically for
about writing and code, and we're going to
use it for writing. So if I click on Canvas, all I have to do is
just click on this, and you see the word
now it's highlighted. And you know what,
I'm colorblind, so I don't know if
that's blue or purple, but just bear with me. But so now the
tool is activated, and we won't see the tool fully shown to us until
we type something. So if you want to just type, and I don't worry about
prompts really anymore. I just go ahead and talk to it as if I'm talking
to you right now. I kind of create a
conversation with Chat ChiPT and I find that
just more it's easier, first of all, for me,
and I don't have to worry about prompting structure. I don't have to worry about what should I say the
right way to say? I just talk to it as
if I'm talking to my friends or writing partners. Down here at the bottom,
it kind of gives you kind of a I wouldn't
say they're prompts, but they're just
basically starters. And you can sometimes
it will say, you know, help me write
or summarize this. But you can see here, if I say surprised me.
