No sugarcoating. No flowery words. Just as I am.

I teach, not only based on my expertise, but also on my failures. So, here’s the list of my shortcomings and learnings:

1. I was fired by a language school due to political insensitivity. I’ve learned to be more politically correct, diverse, and inclusive.

2. I was terminated by a food company due to insubordination. I’ve learned to have the guts to disengage, especially when the tasks are no longer aligned with my principles and ethics.

3. I was laid off by a real estate company due to falling short of my sales target. I’ve learned to integrate influencer marketing, SEO copywriting, and lead generation to target a niche market.

1. Introduction: Data is complicated, but it gains more value when it gets visualized. Data alone doesn't guarantee a good presentation. It's all about how the data is presented. Give your audience comprehensive data by using a pactful, concise, and inclusive language to see the bigger picture of your dashboard. Graph info, graphics, map, chart, slide, and other diagrammatic elements. Good to everyone, just call me Luna. I'm a corporate trainer specializing in communication. I've conducted data coaching with my clients, digital marketing and copyrighting. In this course, we can discuss your insights and concerns. I will give you real world projects and resources. By the end of this course, I'm confident you will be able to choose the right chart, introduce the chart, give its brief overview, describe and analyze its movement, explain it from different perspectives, and draw conclusions and recommendations. If you have any questions or clarifications, please let me know. I'm always here to guide you. If I said something wrong in this course, please let me know as well. I am teachable. I am not always right. 2. Choosing the Right Chart: Some of my students and colleagues in the corporate world are kinda confused. Witchcraft they use, if they want to illustrate the rise and fall of their sales. If they have ten categories and how they're going to compare them. Even I have this kind of confusion where I'm going to use a bar graph for land growth. The different kinds of graphs a and three represent data. They are used in many areas such as in math, economics, business, statistics, and data science and a lot more. So these sections summarizes the essential types of charts and graphs with their best practices. First is the monograph. Worry prefaces to compare data among different categories such as various types of movies and how many people click through them. Moreover, it is used to show large data changes over time. If you're a category labels to name so long, you can use, typically you do horizontal great ref bar graph is best to use for product comparison, sales, and cost of Verisign, marketing, traffic by month or a year, etc. Next one is still line graph. Line graph shows threads through progress over time. It can highlight fluctuation voided myosin follow-up data and predictions. Line graph is best is for annual sales trend populations when temperature changes and so on. Then we have the pie chart. A pie chart represents numbers and percentages, and the total sum of all segments needs to equal 100%. This is the most impactful for your audience if you have a small dataset. By tried his best to use if you want eagle is three, the percentage of total profit from various products or store locations, market share, budgeting, et cetera. We have already covered the top three graphs and charts. I am pretty sure you are quite familiar with those. Let's proceed to area graph. And Eric ramp is basically Alliance for it, but the space between the x-axis and the line is filled with the color or pattern to highlight the magnitude of the change. They work best for big differences between datasets and also help visualize be twins. Best practices for this is when you want to show KPI goals versus outcomes, quarterly sales revenue, daily visitors, record, etc. Followed by the scattered blood. Scatter plot shows the results of a collection of points between large datasets. This is best to use for survey results. Monthly sales integrate cleansing costs, customer happiness, and response time and a lot more. Next one is the pictograph already picked the ground. This type of graph uses pictures or icons to represent the data. This makes it easy to read statistical way of data visualization. Pictograph is testes for a number of population, is statistics, children learning materials, and so on. And finally, we have table detail. They're complicated, the debt organize. You better use table. Which data can be describe adequately in the texts. You better use stable ie, the information must be reported precisely. Alright, so those are the essential types of charts and graphs. But it will be more challenging since the volume of data in the following years will exponentially increase. That's for sure. Therefore, effective data visualization with the use of graphs, charts, and diagrams is the most. I'll see you in our next lesson. 3. Introducing the Chart: Once we have already chosen the most appropriate route for our presentation, we need to introduce the graph next. Well, I know it's pretty basic, but why do we have to do this? Because some people may be unfamiliar. Reading charts and graphs. Give a simple in briefings. Reduction of the graph before you go into the features is advisable. Alright? Let me give you the basic formula for introducing breath. Start with reading the title, followed by horizontal axis or the x axis, vertical axis, or so-called y-axis. Plus the luncheon, which tells us what each bar line or segments, the cash, our audience attention from the very beginning. We can use these following phrases for introduction. Kindly take a look at these expressions. Now, we're going to apply these expressions in real graphs and charts. Just imagine we are working for E phone incorporated. And we're at now to present these very basic data to our executives. Let's begin. The bar graph illustrates the annual sales trend of earphone x from 2019, 2021. The horizontal axis represents the here and the vertical lines. This shows sales, Building dollars. This how simple it is. Pay attention to the formula. Once again, its title plus horizontal axis, vertical axis. Later on we will use some lessons. Let's try the pie chart. The pie chart describes the market share of phone, your smartphone brands worldwide 2019-20, marijuana. The blue segment represents earphone. Orange for Zamzee, Ray for two-plus and yellow, sentiment is one way. And that's how we use this expressions describing a pie chart. This time, we described the title plus the lesson or the colors that represent each question. Some of you will probably ask, why do we have to explain their colors one-by-one? The audits can figure them out on their own. It's self-explanatory. He has indeed. But please be considerate with your audience who is colorblind or perhaps the PC contrast saturation is too high or too low. Moreover, these colors can also serve a purpose, such as for branding like Louis for Facebook, Reddit for Coca-Cola and so on. Just a disclaimer, all these smartphone brands that we're using in this class. I just imaginary these searches make believe they don't represent any companies and they don't even exist. Alright, so let's go back to the board where w bar graphs and pie charts. This time, let's apply it these expressions using a table. To illustrate my point, let's look at this percentage stable or smartphone owners using various features. The first row represents the year 2019-2021, and the first column shows the phone, your smartphone features. And there you have it. That's how we basically it for this graph chart and table. Let's continue to the next lesson and give a brief overview of these ramps. 4. Giving a Brief Overview: We're back. Alright, so we're done with selecting the right choice for your data. We were able to learn how to introduce our data. This time, we will continue and how to give a brief overview of our data. But why do we have to do this? Because rather than going right into the details, we'd better start with seeing the bigger picture, what the chart is telling us. Then later on we can go into the finer details. All right, Let's take it away. Our formula this time is pretty basic. Just figure out the most obvious trends in your data, such as the highest and the lowest, or any parts of your data that catch the attention of your audience will concentrate our general overview. And here are our useful expressions. To give a brief overview, kindly take a look and let's try to apply these expressions. We already described this bar graph in the previous lesson. And here we go. An obvious trend shows that there was some fluctuation in sales, peaking in 2020, but falling in 2021. And that's a brief overview of the IPO next, sales, easy, breezy. Remember, do not explain yet the movement of the bolus. Our aim here is to let the audience see the bigger picture of the Ethernet sales, 2019-2021. Alright, Let's move on to the pie chart. Here we already described the pie chart. Alright, let's begin. Looking from an overall perspective. It is really apparent that Ethan had the highest market share among the different smartphone brands. And finally our table. We already illustrated the table. And here we go. And interesting observation is that if you look at the percentage 2019-2021, you will notice the usage of all smartphone features was constantly increasing except making holes. And that's it for this part, we were able to give a brief overview of the data. I hope everyone can still follow. We're not getting the most crucial part. So stay tuned. Let's move on to the next lesson. 5. Describing Movements and Analysis: Let's have a short recap. We're done with choosing the right chart. Check, introducing a chart, check, giving a brief overview, check. This time we will deep dive into the most crucial point, the movements and analysis. Let's kick it off. Starting with our key points. Our formula this time is up or down. These verbs we will use, followed by degree and speed of change. These are usually adverbs or adjective plus the amount. And finally, the analysis is to be complex this time, but we need to do this because by explaining the degree of change and speed of change into features, we can give a more accurate explanation. And here are our useful expressions. The gibbon analysis did these movements, right? Let's not even. Once again, we describe the graph. We'd give a brief overview and let's describe the movement and analyze. It can be seen that the sales increase sharply from 180 billion in 2019 to $450 billion since 2020. And she did a successful product launch and promotion. However, there was a drastic decline of $150 billion in 2021, which can be attributed to global supply and chain crisis as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. There you go. Take a look at a formula. Once again, up plus degree of change plus amount plus analysis. We can also do with interchangeably like the degree of change plus down plus and now it's less than Analysis. And this formula can be applied to other charts or graphs, line graphs. Let's proceed to the pie chart. Here, we describe the patch on it. Give a general overview. And since pie chart has no movement, we will just compare each segment using D6 expressions and give Analysis. Let's do it. To begin with. Ethan capture the majority of global market share at 59 per cent. This is clearly true to this strategic product placement and word of mouth marketing. Zen Zoom get twice higher market share than two plus 23%. Finally, one way constituted 8% of the global market share. And we have our table. And we already described the table. Highlight that parent data. And let's describe the trend. On a broader perspective. The UC ship, social media and watching movies, my smartphone reach their highest level of hundred percent, caused by COVID-19 one, now, preventing people from going out. Similarly, taking photos and playing games using a smartphone grew significantly. On the flip side, a gradual decline in person page can be seen in making phone calls over the last three years, which was the result of increase in number of instant messaging applications. Walla, and this is how we describe the movements and analyze data. Just a short recap. You should use appropriate verbs, adjectives. Depending on the kind of movements you need to show. I know it might be confusing, but proper data visualization makes it easy for us to reach meaningful conclusions and simplifies our decision-making process. 6. Explaining from Different Perspectives: Hi everyone and welcome back. We've just gone through a very intricate analysis of Detroit. This time. We will still analyze the chart, but from a different perspective. And why do we have to do this? Because just the number alone may not mean much to some of our audience. Therefore, we tried to give meaning to the numbers by expanding it from a different perspective. Let me show you how for the formula. Let's put it simply by using analogy or a comparison between feedings. Typically for the purpose of explanation, more clarification. Here are already useful expressions to make figures more meaningful. Alright, so we already noted thrill First we described the graph. Then give a brief overview. Next is we describe the movement that and analyze it. Then this time, let's explain it from a different perspective. In hindsight, already 2020 sales was equivalent to almost half of the world's population, or 4 billion units of E phone acts in 2021, it seems to suggest that we fail to meet the demand of approximately 30% of our customers. Okay? So as you may notice, we analyze it from the perspective of the half of the world's population, which is roughly 4 billion. Assuming that each unit of iPhone X costs only approximately $100 to $120, resulting to more or less $450 billion sales or FIFO Next, really cheap phone. How will you wish? Let's see the pie chart. Here. We describe the pie chart. Give its brief overview. Analyze each segment, then let's see it from a different perspective. According to research, there are 7.30 billion smartphone users in the world as of 2021. This is like saying there are approximately 4 billion users worldwide. Let's proceed to our table. Here, the description of the table, followed by its overview. Next is its transcend analysis. Let's see it from a different point of view. That means in 2021, half of the smartphone users rarely make. There we have it. If you have any clarifications, please feel free to ask me. If I mistakenly said something, please let me know. That would greatly appreciate it. I'll see you in our next lesson. 7. Drawing Conclusions and Recommendations: The last point of our data visualization is the conclusion and recommendations. The conclusion offers you the opportunity to elaborate on the impact and significance of your findings from the perspective of pure audience. It's like saying, what is your point? Our formula goes like this. Conclusion plus recommendation for ended with a motivational remark. And we will use these expressions to draw conclusions. Let's take a look. Also. We have useful expressions to give recommendations. Now let's apply these. Once again. We describe the graph, give its brief overview. Describing the movements and analysis, explaining from different perspective. And let's draw a conclusion. And evaluation of this theta concludes that our smartphone was highly accepted by the market. But since COVID-19 pandemic occurred, this whole thing to logistics problem, it has impacted our global sales. Then. What we need to do now is to navigate unexpected challenges and supply chain diversification. Once again, the formula is conclusion plus recommendation. Let's draw a conclusion for this pie chart. Here we describe the short it's general overview. Describing the movement that analysis, seeing it from a different point of view. And here it goes. In conclusion, if Hollande dominated the smartphone market through their native advertising, what we need to do now is to continue to excel in user experience, customer service, and disruptive innovation. And put a table. Once again, describe the table. See the bigger picture. Movements and analysis, a different viewpoint. And here's the conclusion. Overall. These highlights the significance of a better means of communication, entertainment, and convenience in the foreseeable future, I highly recommend that we shall develop smartphone with artificial intelligence, which has cutting edge applications. There you have it. In our next lesson, we will apply some techniques and practical applications of this data visualization. I'll see you there. 8. Data Storytelling: Alright, this lesson is just an additional optional approach, yet it's highly recommended for data visualization. It's a human nature to listen to stories. It can be in a form of movie, novel, or even gossiping, hearsay said I'm guilty of that. Therefore, an effective way to reach your audience is to explain the chart. Like a story. Moving on, just like a novel or a movie, we will integrate the five elements of a story. But first it's the exposition. This is where you introduce your characters, stablished a setting and beginning to introduce the primary conflict of your story. Second is the rising action. It is a moment that sensory story into action. Third is the climates. This is the pickup tension, plot and characters in your story. It's the moment that your audience has been waiting for. For it. One is the falling action. This is the time to start resolving conflict. And lastly, our conclusion. This brings her story through its happy or sad ending. Alright? We will use the same data we use from our previous lessons. The earphone exhales, but this time it's in a form of data storytelling. Let's begin. These past three years. We weakness the collaborative effort of the marketing and sales departments to reach their targets. And let me show you this paragraph which illustrates the sales of ebonics 2019-2021. The horizontal axis represents the year and the vertical axis shows sales in billions dollars. I would like you to pay attention on this obvious trend, which shows that there was some fluctuation in sales, baking in 2020, but falling at 20:21. For all the hard work and perseverance. I am starting to present to you how the sales increased sharply from 180 billion in 2019, $450 billion since 2020. Due to the successful product launch and promotion, our blood, sweat, and tears have finally paid off. However, there was a drastic decline of $150 billion since 2021, which can be attributed to global supply chain crisis as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. In hindsight, 2020 sales was equivalent to almost half of the world's population are foreign billion units of beef on ads in 2021, it seems to suggest that we failed to meet the demand. Approximately 30% of hungry customers. And evaluation of this theta concludes that our smartphone was highly accepted by the market. But since COVID-19 pandemic occurred, resulting to logistics problem, it has impacted our global sales tremendously. Steel, we're truly fortunate that we stay afloat and healthy, both physically and mentally. What we need to do now is to navigate unexpected challenges and supply chain diversification. We have made a great team that sweats together, survives together and wins together. Let's try for the best outcome. There we have it. Data storytelling approach, boost our feelings of things like trust, compassion, and empathy. It motivates us to work with others and positively influences our behavior. Because of this, data storytelling has unique ability to build connections. 9. Apply it Like a Pro: This is a wrap-up section, but I would just like to highlight the different usage, share practical applications of these step-by-step data visualization. Here to your first practical application is for financial reporting. By offering detailed views of company's financial data, executives can trim structured or unstructured data into insights. The gain deeper knowledge of key trends that promote better decision-making. Another one is for Investor Relations. Investors should understand big data and make informed investment decisions by collecting the available data, identifying trends in the industry, and managing the assets properly. Additionally, we can apply these data visualization in iOS writing exam. For us to passively spend seven and oils, we need to describe a graph or chart, not less than 150 words within 20 min. Your sentence organization, launching and accuracy will be stored here. Next is for broadcasting. If you are in the field of mass communication or journalism, you need to gather data, check the facts, and deliver it to your audience in a more compelling and comprehensive manner. And needless to say, data visualization is essential in problem solving and critical thinking. Alright, these searches, some of the practical application is, so our step-by-step approach to present graphs and charts. I highly advise you to utilize this approach in all aspects of data visualization. Finished, just a short recap. Once again, these are the six steps to present your data. Select the most appropriate graph or chart depending on your main purpose and the size of your data. Next, give a simple and brief introduction of the graph. Then present the bigger picture of what the chart is telling us. Explain the degree and speed of change in the figures. So we can give a more accurate explanation. Analyze the chart, but from a different perspective. And finally, a strong compulsion and recommendation will provide an impactful sense of closure. Done. If you have any clarifications, please feel free to ask me if I mistakenly said something. Please correct me. I am teachable. I'm not always right.
