My name is Kai, and I am a professional car designer, previously Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in Germany and have been teaching private piano lessons for 4 years.

Music among technology and automotive design, has always been a huge part of my life, ever since I started learning to play the piano at a very young age. Over the years I have developed a deep passion for this instrument and at some point decided to experiment with popular music.

I have been playing the piano for almost 19 years alltogether and arranging my own cover songs for almost 10 years now.

Having started out learning classical music I soon discovered that playing popular music can be more fun and is much quicker to learn by ear rather than using sheet music.<... See full profile

1. 1.1 Introduction: Hi there. My name is kind. Well, and I can play piano for almost 20 years. Andi, I started playing the piano classically, so I used to play using sheet music and reaching music and play. Exactly. Ask the cheapens it told me to. And after a while, I decided this is boring. I want to play something. Wondered. I want to, you know, play sunk a That's on the radio. And I don't want to read the sheet. Visit food. I mean, sometimes there isn't even sheet music. So I thought, How am I gonna do this? But then I started listening to stuff it up, which I wanted to play. And during the last few years, I developed a certain strategy or certain approach to learning this type of sums by here. And there really isn't any like it's not magical. Anyone can do it. It's just a matter after by technique and the right way to start playing cells fire. I'm gonna give you an example here off various cells. What? I care about you, Andi. I'm gonna teach you how you can do it too. And it really isn't magic. Anyone can learn this. You just have to commit. You have to do it for yourself. Force itself. Do it on your having fun doing it if you really want to. If you're thinking what All this sounds great. I want to run this summer. I want to learn another song. This is exactly what you want to do. This is accepted in my course for you. So here are some examples off some songs which I played by ear, way, way, way. I hope you like a little demo. We'll start off with something simple. Of course, on you cannot go immediately into playing something like this, but just for a little bit of taste. This is what kind of sound like after I show you the basics. So let's take payphone by maroon fact, for example, we're gonna play in the key of C and the most simples key. And if you do what I tell you to do in the first few lessons, you will be able to play the song and it will start like this 2. 1.2 Keys & Chords: Hi there. Welcome to your first lesson off. Learning to play piano by your master course. Let's jump straight into it. So keys and chords, what are they? Keys are basically it's a notice, a key on an instrument around which a song is based. So, for instance, I presume you know what this Theis that would BC on if a summer is played, See, it means the entire songs based, right? So let's take letter B by the Eagles, for example, and see it would sound something like this. Basically, you can also change the key so it doesn't really matter in which can you play a So sometimes you if you don't have if you don't know the exact key, the song. But you know the song, you can play in whatever you want. So you can also, for instance, play this song. Let it be by the bills, depending on people when they say they prefer, you know, certain keys because that covers their you know, their voice better. They can sing better to that key. No course, basically what I just played with my left hand, so I'm gonna play it in a more simpler way. so you can understand what cores right. That's to let it be again. So that would be way I've been playing with my left hand known as cause. So basically a combination off notes which give it a harmonious sounds. The most basic types of courts are major and minor once. So how do you play major or minor? Course. You basically take the basement thing. Accord is a C court domestic. See, Major, This time the major chord is doing yourself happier. Right? So this is the C major chord just for comparison. This is the C minus court. Some kind of sad doesn't. So how you play them? You take the fifth note of off the basement soul and you take the one in the middle of the third to take the, um it's going to be the major Tom, basically. So this thing like this on to pay minor instead of taking their you take the 2.5 key. So basically, you take That's the first key. Second keep This would be the 30. This is kind of the so this is 1/2 step. You take this one, I'm going to give you an exercise on this later. This is just for starters, so there's an exercise coming up for you to play those course, that's it. 3. 1.3 Accompaniment (Left Hand): either. Welcome to lecture three. Let's jump straight into it, your left hand, the accompaniment. What does that mean? What does it do? So basically, your song is divided into the accompaniment and the melody. The melody is what the song off singer singing. So let's take a five paper, for example, which I used in the introduction. Um, the left hand is basically guiding your malady, the single so it sounds more harmonious itself better, right? I'm going to give you a basic example off payphone. I'm just going to play open courts with my lifetime. I will teach you those in a while on um, I'm going Teoh first. OK, it's like a simple accompaniment and then more difficult one, and you will notice the difference immediately and play. The state knows with my right hand. Just don't really look at here. Look at my life and what it's doing and just compare the simple version to the more complicated version. And that's really the only thing I'm changing with my left hand. This is what allows you to make you some sell. Really good. So that's to do the simple one first. That was not like this This is pretty much the simplest company when you can do right, So using the same three notes, I'm going to just step it up a little bit, except paying about the same time with that, right? So now if you're feeling really fancy and after this course, you will be able to play this maybe not to this degree, but you will sign, get a feeling for it on you know, we'll know what you can do or cannot play. Um, right, this is the fancy but way. I've been playing exactly the same thing with the right, and I just changed my accompaniment, and that makes a huge difference, you heard. I also think that the accompaniment is probably more important than the melody, because figuring out the melody is actually easier then finding out the accompaniment because in a song they usually have various instruments like guitar, bass or a variety of guitars and bass and some other instruments on the piano. You cannot play those instruments at the same time, so I have to figure out how you do this with you cannot play exactly as they do in the summer with your left hand. That's impossible unless it's a gamble. But you can try to replicate it in the best way possible and actual personal touch to it, right, that's not too three. 4. 1.4 Melody (Right Hand): Welcome to Elektra for the melody. What does your right hand do? So if you see my previous video on the left hand, the left hand is what makes your Mexico himself good on piano, right? But the most important thing about the song itself is actually the right hand. So what's more important to make a sandal is the laughter. And what's most important for the song is right the melody, because without it that would be a something would just be hammering court, right? I'm going to play a pay phone bill five from the previous example. So it's consistent on. I'm going to mute out my right hand melody and just play the accompaniment and you'll see how basically the song goes missing. Let's hear that. So basically, you have no clue what the song is. But if I act a melody some life, this is what makes, and it's really important when you figure out the melody that you do it correctly, so the 100% perfect. You can do little things in it also. So if I, for instance, pay from what I just don't just play it this way, way in a different way, Also, I'm gonna try to put it a different way. It's going to stop a little bit different way here was a different way different. You can do that and as long as you know, let's say do it 90% because sometimes the senior you know, he does crazy things with his voice like Adele, for instance. And you cannot replicate that Caitlyn on the piano can only try to do it as good as possible without making itself. We get right so the melody really important. You have to try to figure that out as accurately as possible, but not to actually. So don't go crazy on the you know, if a singer is like you cannot play that other piano, you I will just stick with two notes or something like that. But it is really important. So the combination off both hands is what gives you the complete song on the piano. I will teach you how to capture with their right out the easiest way possible. And I will also show you how can a company like hand capturing the melodies? Actually, the easier part off to which I mentioned in the previous video because You know, if you have a song in your head and you can sing along to it, then you will eventually be able to find out with some work and time. What the melodious on the piano figure out the company with, However, it's not that easy, right? 5. 1.5 Choosing a Song and Listening to It: Hi. Welcome to electrify choosing a song and listening to it right. So you probably want to play a certain song, which you really like all the cattle. Otherwise, he wouldn't be in this calls, right? So what types of sums can you shoes and play by here? Well, let's say you can play anything but generally speaking, although there certain things which I avoid that will be classical music, for instance, because it's just too complicated that too many little things in it. And it's too fast. Sometimes you cannot capture everything you can try, but you cannot use the court and key based system on it because it's just too complicated out Is that just the sheet music? But any other regular salt, anything that's running on the radio, even things like candy. So as long as it has some music to it, you can find out if it's like some rap song that I wouldn't do at. So I would sometimes what people actually singing the West and melody with rap songs. You're just going to end up playing, you know, course so it could take love the way you live by Brianna. There's a rap sex sexual melody and ones I end up in the RAB section. I'm just going to hammer court, so no way, just cause you can't do that. But, you know it's not recommended. You cannot play there back with your right, and that's impossible. So I would definitely choose a song where it has a melody in it on for stockers I would choose like a forecourt song. So something that's on the radio, something like Taylor Swift at Shirin One Republic, Jason Grass, Bruno Mars. Something like that. Those sounds like it's easy to start with, Uh, since we're at the end of the basic section, I'm going to choose a someone with you probably know which is Counting stars by one republic. Andi will be using this song to guide you through the listening exercises on the playing exercises. You know, show you various aspects off playing the piano by ear, using this song as an example, because it's a good song to start with. It's not that difficult complained in the C chord. So why you have to worry about those? Um, it's the easiest way to start. I'll fight Teoh building like lessons where you play along So I'm telling you what to do. Went forward and try it and you'll play long as I teach you how to do. Because I think the best way to learn something is to learn it by doing it. So yeah, way now we'll go to the listening exercise, So I'm hoping to see you there. 6. 2.1 Verse Chorus Bridge Pattern: how that welcome to Section two listening exercises in this section. I will teach you the basics off listening to a song a certain way on figuring out the basic structure off the song so you can then go ahead and play on the piano. So in this particular Lecter, we will talk about the first course and bridge pattern off. So, as mentioned before, I will be using One Republic's counting styles as an example here so I could showcase each and every part off the lessons using this some because it's good to stuff to go, some to stop, right? So the first course Enbridge pattern one is it you might hurt of these times before the versus. Basically, you know whether lyrics change, keep changing or not, depending on the sun and the chorus. Instead, you know that that part of the song that really sticks in your head that's repeated throughout the soul. So the case off Captain stuffs the chorus this way. First, sounds like this way on the bridge leads into the course, so basically every song is comprised off three melodies. You only need to figure out three melodies for each song. Um, And once you've done that, you can play the whole song. You just have to repeated throughout. So in case of company starts, it starts with a presentation off the chorus. You can see that even with them the course desperate, patrician. So this eyes repeated twice in the course, um, the versus a little bit different. There's not so much reputation in the first, but you get the idea, so sometimes there's even less in the soul. So if you learned those three melodies on you, string them together. You have the entire store. That's the beauty off popular music. It's because it's so simple to learn them because you only have a few melodies. I mean, you can play each Minniti, probably altogether. You can comprise it into like a 32nd piece of music. But if you repeat this thes 30 seconds and you're angel with, for instance, instead of playing the chorus down here, which gives even more room for your left hand, But you get the idea so we have to do is figure out the first melody, the chorus, Melanie, the end of bridge melody. Sometimes that's like an instrumental part, or like where There's a solo that's different. You have to do that separately. But, you know, it's just another melody. Basically, every soul is comprised of three melodies. That's it. Okay. Yeah. 7. 2.2 Figuring Out the Key/Chords of a Song: Hi there. Lecture seven. Figuring out the key and the cords off a stuff. Now, honestly, the easiest light. Spot me to just look them up. I mean, you have the Internet to your to use, and you might as well use it. So you just talking there some you want to play? Okay. For example, counting stars on Republic and then you're talking course on it will probably need you to like a guitar website Ultimate guitar guitar have, or something like that on the courts will be there. The only problem is is to be careful because it's just some random person who wrote them out on the Internet like form, so that might not be 100% correct. But they do help in the beginning. So once you've got the courts, you can go along and practice the core progressions. So that's the easy way, the harder it is to do it by listening. And this does require a little bit of experience. So once you've done a couple of songs, you know, by looking them up, you'll come to realize that those courts hold same. It's just, you know, a different order, something. Who example is a video. It's called four Axis of Awesome, and they use only four cores playing like 50 songs on it. I'll put the link in the on this on this electric because you can't go look it up. Basically, you can use four cores and they off different salts because they all use the same ones. So you can, for example, are used this progression way. Just let it be by the Beatles, for example. You can also reverse it, and instead of playing play, it's exactly the same for courts to just change the order. You can also change the other again, which might still only playing the same court. Also, the cool thing is can also be applied in a different way. So that's what I did see. You can also pay them. Indeed, it's still the same, for the progression is still the same. It's just you moved everything. One key up. You move everything. One key up. That's the only difference. So the whole thing this wants you. You have a couple of sums which very likely will use a similar chord progression. You'll come to realize that that sounds all the same, then you can basically play every summer. Every key on you know, once you listen to a song again what you I haven't played before. You realize all right? Yeah, that's all. Also has the progression is just a little bit different. It's reversed or something like that. Um, yeah, I'd say that's the way to figure it out also, Um, because the songs are all the same. That's like one of the 1st 2 or three other hardest. So if you try to do it for the first time, definitely get Hatfill's. Put them on so you can have a good lesson. Good quality, too. So I wouldn't recommend small speakers because the base goes missing and you need the base because of the base place. The your fundamental gnomes, what you use in your left hand bass notes, baseballs for courts to base girls way. Basically, that's kind of the process. So you look for the base life, review the baseline, and then you you play the bass notes on the piano and then you automatically have courts. So I would recommend getting the song counting stars. Play the song and then listen to the baseline and see if you can find it out for yourself. If you can't, that's not a problem. Just look them up and then listen to it again with your, you know, with what it looked up. So if you're the website says coming stuff, that should be something like my major. If you look those up and then listen to the some again, it kind of helps secure this, Uh, do these in your mind. So you know that this song is comprised. Of course, you can also try to play along songs, but that's another thing. I want that in the planet's It's like, all right. 8. 2.3 Figuring Out The Melody of a Song (Updated): all right. Next lecture. Figuring out the melody of a self that's actually easier than fear out. Of course, you have to look it up because really can't look up Melody. You might find some sheet music, but I don't recommend that since this course based on finding out by right. So how do you do that? Basically, you obviously want to play something she like. You don't go to force yourself to place out when you don't like or you don't know. So if you feel like a song and you probably know it already, if you don't know what that already just listen to in a couple of times and singalong Just sing along tried to sing along as well as you can. If you can sing along very well done. Be happy to find out the melody before you find out the melody. Have to know that you I should probably find out what key the songs played in. It helps with finding the right notes become off course. Just just just forget about on do it manually. That works, too, but I recommend, you know, as as the way this lectures built, figuring out the key and forcible some first and then finding out the melody. So the melody he listened to the songs you sing along You hum along with some whatever you want and then you just keep it open like a phone or something. Notify folks this time, try to follow the song with your right hand. So if the song coming style skills like you know, the first notes that way you find you find the note and then basically just go up. So that's not about key, but you know what I mean. So if this just come along and find out the melody, Um, and once you've kind of figured a malady out, you might not You might notice that the timing's off. So its life Western unity is like, um, you can fix that easily by you know, this play that song. And, you know, you figure out the notes already and just followed. You're really here. If it's wrong. So, yeah, I like him. I'm doing that. So this listen to this song. Come along to it. Be able to say you don't have to know the lyrics, although it does help because you know you can. You can, um, you can cut up the words into a single like a bottles or something. So baby is like, be right. So that's two melts. Sometimes it helps. Um, yeah. So get the song on the stuff that you haven't already. Listen to it. Uh, and then just trying to figure out the melody on your own. It's not that difficult. You just listen to the song if you really like it, you can see it anyways, probably. But yeah, just listen to it so you can pretty much come along and try to follow on the piano. If not that good at humming along, singing along, Just keep it open and figure out on your own. Um, but, uh, how did the keys and chords almost saw Help you? In this case, you might wonder, because I just mentioned it. Right. So if your song is in C major, then you know that the Methodist a malady will probably be was in the C major notes. What are the C major notes? Basically the major notes. So you could know that scale C major scale. I assume you know that. But I guess you can figure it out to. It's something. In the case of C major is all the white keys. So the melody will be all in on all the white keys. Not on any off the black Keys, Right. If you have d major, a major scale be melodious within those right, Same goes for minors. Free text. See mine then the body will probably within those notes. Um, that's a torrent on how to pay scales. I'll put a link to it on this. Electricity can figure that out if you don't know how to play those. So now if we take a look at counting stars some stars in a C sharp minor and the melody goes like this and move from a C sharp minor to an e major. Okay, so now I'm gonna play the state of minor scale and the major scale. You see how the melody thes notes all followed In the scale off course, there are some exceptions in different salts, right? Also like this. But it's just a guide for you to you know, maybe if you don't know where the melody could start, just play the scale, and it's easier for you to find whether melody starts, right. Okay, So this these are all the notes. Yeah, that's not paid a scale. Different ways of playing this game, obviously. So I just played the C sharp minor scale. You can play like this in this case, Um, this'll notice skipped. But that's also different Without playing the minor scale just like this. In this case, all those are within this. Okay, so this model one million then moves from a c sharp minor up anyone both on my speech, Minor to the major. And what were the major scale? You can see that all the notes do actually lie within the major scale. So it's kind of a hybrid. Writes one melody move from one court to another court that, you know, between two chords to scales. And the melody is almost definitely within these two scales. So I put a link there on the electricity. You can see how you can pay scales. Um, uh, yeah, I just try to use it if you don't know how to start a way to start. Look it up. If you want Teoh confined resources, you can try to find like, the first note. First note off amenity if you can find something that helps but don't use, didn't use the entire sheet music for that. That's not the point of plainness. I think using a sheet music to find reality makes it very rigid, so you have to play every single as it is on the sheet. Music makes it better. Bridget. That's not the point of this lecture. The point is to do it for memory. Do it by listening, so your fingers to basically just do what your brain knows about the someone You don't have to think about each and every key on sheet music you have to. You just follow what's in your brain and you know it's kind off your fingers singing instead of your voice. 9. 2.4 Relisten to the Song After Completing Above Lessons: Hi there. No, that you've gone through listening exercises. And I hope you've done this a couple of times with, you know, various cells. Just one song to like, very much. Um, I recommend listening to this song again. So once you figure out the court once you looked up records and want to kind of figure out the amenity, I want you to just listen to the song. Just sit down, put headphones on and listen to the some on. And once you've done these things which I've told you, you know, figuring all the polls figured out, the core progressive kind of figured out the melody of being able to sing or hum along. And then you listen to the you listen to the song. You will notice how how, How you understand some some, you know, like each and every, you know, change. And you know, when the melody stars in relation to to the base or something like that, it's kind of, uh, an epiphany for me. So listen to the song again. And then once you listen to a couple of times again, sigh repeating the steps. So, you know, you might have feared out the car to look him up already. So now you might be one ring so you can stop, You know, experimenting. So if you know, the melody is like you can also start. You know, it was your left. You can start experimenting. Don't worry about timing or pedal or anything like that. I think a good exercise to finish off the listing exercises is once you've figured out the melody on the baseline, you don't even need to play the chords. Right. So let's forget the courts completely for a second Here, I will teach you those later. If you know the baseline way to soothe baseline for county stuff, then you can start turning together just like I don't have to be. Perfect timing can be always can be like can be anything like that If you notice if you know that the timing is from just count Allies like 1234 Just gonna come along with it have like a metre normal. Good way to play practice. This is also half a song. Play the song and for payment first try the right hand or the left whatever you prefer. So the song started to play and you just try to follow first with the towns. Once you are comfortable with having you take separate, you can join hands together. But only do this after you've done it a couple of times. Don't do it the first or second time. You've tried this section off this matter. Don't do that. Only tried this once. You've died a couple of times, all right? 10. 3.1 Accompaniment Exercises (Left Hand): Hi there. Now welcome to Section three. Playing exercises. Um, I already touched on something exercises during the end of section two. But that's only for advanced players who've been doing this for a while. This electric designed so you can revisit each step on, you know, just a reputed as often as you like, because, you know, repeating helps, like practice. Right? So a company went exercise for the left hand. Um, get the some which you want to play, Let it play on. You know, I presume that you've figured out the key and corporate Russians already. You might even want to, you know, write them down on something. You can do that, just write them down. But I recommend memorizing it because it's awful repetitive. So it's like four calls always paints but repeated through the whole story. Have a right to petition down 100 times. And then it's like playing. So I presume you fell out the baseline because for people's chapter, So I will teach you first the basic way to regular right. So accompaniment exercises for the left. Say you want to play counting stars on the course you found out for Major Major Major. A notice. How about actually playing the courts? What I showed you before so the courts would act to look like this. Those are so called open course. So I'm actually leaving. I only play. Listen to those. Multi. Also at me three active. The autumn is basically the same note Has the base metal to just, you know, on the next level, based on the middle one. We're just in the fifth. Do business in the middle, and you just leave your hand like this. Um, start again. So it's, uh see shock. Be okay. Now, I want you to do the same thing. Remember how it's done. So you take the bass note and the note of the auction state notes. Just one section higher and one in the middle. Dominant. Take those. Raise your hand on these three notes Now, please. You can pass the video if you want to. If you're if you're taking if you need a bit more time, you can do that. It was attended. Place your hands on this and no, I'm gonna take my hands off and I want you to play the same thing on E. So this waas c sharp. Exactly. Same thing off. Where's the Steelers? You have found a telephone. It's okay. Keep your hand in this position. Don't move it all. Cubans, Now you're leaving. And now play the next one, which is play. It's the exact same thing. Don't move your fingers. Just move your arm. Uh, be Have you felt the yet? And then at last, play the same thing on a just one note below B. Can you do that? Well, no, it will be right, fingers. Now you've got the basic accompaniment for the left and four counting stars figured out And depending on the songer play, you know, this is obviously going to change, but it's the same procedure. So it was like cge. That's how it works. So I want to repeat, wanted to repeat counting stars together, right? I will write down the court, progressive on the screen so you can see it to somewhere here. And I want you to just play them. So that's C sharp. E be a play them in that order just the way I told you like this, Uh, like this, um, past the video to have a figure it out yet just played a couple of times. Once you you're comfortable playing all right. And the sounds like yourself. Like this. Good. 11. 3.2 Melody Exercises (Right Hand): Okay, let's do some melody exercise stuff. This requires you to open this up. All right. Do you have some open companies to Austin? Forget we're using Kelty stuffs. Um, if you're further down the road, you can use any song you want. Just write down the courts before you do that. All right? So, having star stability play the some couple of types on I touched on this already in the previous section. Play. It sounds a couple of times trying to get another song. Just hum along, sing along whatever. What? Just do evil. But like, how long? If you don't want to, you know, get too excited about with a single on batteries cream along and try to hit the notes that the cigarettes also waiting. All right, do that a couple of times. A prison. You can. You can already do that because you know you like the song says you want to play so you probably can sing along to it anyways and once. If so, once you are able to sing along, take it. But forget the left hand. I just, um, take the white town. Find the first note, officer. So for that just planets or hum along. And if it's like baby, you know, if you're ending up here, that's not the same. No, that's wrong. That's also wrong. You do that. That's the way you do it. So you have a long you know the song. Just play along. You can. Also, if you don't want to humble time, you can also keep, you know, going back to the beginning of the song, playing it, pausing what it sounds like. You could also try to figure out what notice that's the easiest way to do it. I set by the courts down before we do this because the courts help, right? I touched on this in the previous section briefly, how you can use scales to figure out the melody in an easier way to avoid hitting the wrong mills. But you don't have to do that. You can. You can just training without it. It's just a matter off preference, really, That's the more mechanical way of doing it using scales, But it's more tedious, and I never did it when I love us. Basically using scales unexpected again, imagine yourself starts like in a C major chord, Then the c major scale us like the melody will be using. Only these knows nothing else because everything else will sell were. So if I just improvise on these notes, all I saw was good, but it doesn't. It always sounds good. There's no wrong note, however, if I just have one that's not on the White Keys. That's not within this scale. That's all. Sounds from Of course, there are exceptions, so this'll key is an exception. But you know, you have to later on the exceptions, but you'll figure it out because if you play a song and it sounds different than the original, so something sounds wrong, it's probably if you're not. If you're unsold with the melody, you can find this method. It usually works, Uh, all right. 12. 3.3 Joining the Hands Part 1: Hi there. Now for the exciting part, which is what I've sold in the introduction, we'll be able to do dining to house. How are you going to do that? So, in Nova Melody, you know the core progression. Andi, I talked to the exercise to do this. No, I want to do this. Play it together. Just try. So it shoots out something like this for Celtic stuff. Should sell something like this. Um, you know, the best method of doing business learning by doing All right. So what I suggest? No. Now you know, the melody, the accompaniment. I suggest that you play along with me. So I will play the left hand now and you will try to follow with a melody. I'll do the same thing for the other hand. All right, Let's see if you're ready. If you're ready, you can't stuff. You got past the video. All right, That start. So I presume you know the melody. Now, just play along with me. The melody starts as the moment I start here, so it's not on the same right for some sounds. That's why it might be different. But for this case, this is why I chose to some become simple. It starts on the soon so let's go. One, 234 Ah. Okay. That's not a get well cult along. Maybe that will help already. Let's go. 1234 234 234 234 34 Okay, feel free to repeat this once you're comfortable. Um, if you have timing issues, just repeat it. Just repeat it as often. Everyone in the next sector will cover the timing issues. That's not the same thing with the right time. Feel free to repeat as often as you like, So I already we left him. Now forget the right. Okay, lets go. 12 c for how was that? All right, That's not right with me capping along. So you know the drill. So no. 12 went Teoh, I'm coming with your left hand, all right? It's actually well, 234 Okay, that's that one more time. A bit slower. One to three for See how girls repeat a softness. Like once you feel comfortable doing this, we can move on to Part two where you actually played together 13. 3.4 Joining the Hands Part 2 (Timing): Hi there. Now here's the lecture. Have all been waiting for playing it with two hands. Okay, so that's let's revisit what we did in the last election. So I played the love done. You join him with the right hand, and I paid by 10 on your joining with left. No, What I want to do is just flying with both hands. And I know that sounds cruel, love, Let him learning by doing is the most important thing. Just flight. You know, it sounds it should sound like this. So focusing only on the Internet you can go further if you want to, um, outside again. And see if you can follow me just exactly the same thing as I do. I'll do it slowly. Well, 23 for all right. You just play your own song for first time. By here, the procedure for every song is the same. So it's revisit all the paying exercises. You play the left hand like this big, open courts. No way. And then you play the separately. And don't forget the timing. So it's almost like wise to, you know, count along I five camping. It's easier so you don't have to think. Um, so like this time might be different in my feet. No. 3/4 instead off. Just have something The same thing for a writer. This makes sure that fix the timing issues right from the beginning. So why don't you play together? It doesn't. Sounds like it doesn't sound like this. Doesn't that sound like this? Do as I told you. Clap along and try to pet separately and then slowly played together and follow me to whiles you paid a couple of sauce. You develop like a kind of musical understanding for timing. And this will be like, no problem whatsoever. You will be able to just immediately you know the song and play with the timing. You won't have any problems with that. Um, I'll recommend this is the song. Always keep listening to the song. Listen to it again. Listen to it a 1,000,000 times. Listen to the song. Congrats on making it to the end of section three. Um, no. You can actually start choosing your own store and playing the same thing just as an exercise. If we constricted next exercise, that might be a bit much. So I recommend choosing another song or choose the same. Some and continue this all use the same methods as I've described in the previous sections in the previous lessons and just follow through. I don't see all the steps. You know, all these little steps can be comprised into basically just going straight way. It was a mistake. But you know what? It will sometime lead to this, and you will have to think about what's So you look at the course on, you know, the Bellagio. 14. 4.1 Left Hand Pattern: Arpeggios: Hello there. Welcome to section for company month patterns. This is their exciting because this is, as you may remember, um, I told you in this I told you this during the basic section. This is what makes your piano playing some really beautiful, Really nice you can really brag with. This requires no skill whatsoever. I'll sort of the most basic way to do this. It's all of that time. And the first thing we'll do is that NGOs You might have this term before arpeggios up, basically playing the same notes over and over again on different levels. Right? So if we take counting starts again, you probably know this another always sick of this tunnel. But you keep holding up. This gets interesting context. Us used to play with that kind. Like this. Right? You do that. It's easy. Okay? No, I want to take it up. And when impetuous is detect piece three notes on. Just repeat that different Starting out you and you can dio Let's do that. Most the easiest. The easiest way. Okay, let's stop here. There, do that and hello. Comfortable, you know, asked me that before and and you know, I wanted to do the changes to so again, same position. You don't move the fingers around, you only need a pinky. Your point off and I want you to capital. So I think this follow me. Call that stops. You know the drill. That's very long time. Now you listen to it. Let's drive all the time. This kind of bit slower. Just follow along, you know? But you know for us I know you're probably bored of that too. Okay, Now this fight without happy, you're actually going down twice. Repute this exercise as often as you want again. You can use this procedure for any song, Mr Tithe. Just a okay. Now for the more advanced off you instead of playing this try. This was Catholic. Say three notes. You only need these three fingers, right? Don't need any more Play this this'll case you're basically going to actives. You only have to pay once. So for counting stars go with me. It's like, right we can repeat video along with if you want to, But if you're advanced, you know how to do this. It's gonna be a breeze. Um all right, so how it's gonna sound coming in conjunction with the melody? Well, that's here. Almost a pro. You'll get there 15. 4.2 Notes Which Always Sound Good: All right, let's look at something more exciting. Once you know this, you're almost there. No, you can play with. Always sound good now wants that. So I told you these rinos No way. Really good. No. Let's bring back the the major and minor notes. So you probably noticed that the county starts starts off with a C sharp minor. So so far, we only played the open sea shop. Was neither major normal. Remember, from the first couple of essence that you know the major and minor key. If we go back here, it's comprised after one in the middle between the fifth and the 1st 1st one of them is the second told up one. So that's basically, like, two full steps between the notes. That's major key. You know this at all times. Then that's the minor key in this case, which is 2.5 steps up, which is one, uh, sorry. One of the half. Right? That doesn't make sense. So one step up one of the house that so that's competitors to. But I love that. No, don't play like this. Well, I reconnected. Play You only didn't already know how to that's right way. Just get Petraeus now. Adding the in this case it was the minor notes, the one after based. So that's just wait. You can Sein's the arrangement anyway like you. And that's for the minor chord in some way, but immediately probably sounds pro right Just because you had this minor or major chord, the figures don't play this all the time. So if I play this all the time in County Stuffed will sound really rigid because you keep saying the same thing. Way to practice. Don't play this all the time. Just wait, Okay? That was the first thing you could do. The second thing you can do it's called the Ad nine chord. Now what's that? So we have the minor major one Now what's the dad? Nine waas Also neither mine nor manger, right? So if you take counting starts again the 1st 1 See shock my you can instead of this just play the next note. This is the life 1156 The next one just a lot from the what about something like this? Also put it together In this case, it doesn't sound that great. Doesn't you have to figure this out for herself from this case. One place. I recommend playing this on major courts. So the next court, right? Remember that we played the minor wall here. That's really good. So let's keep that move to the next. How does the Maiyo made no sound here? It works. You can You don't have to help us. The knife court. So here, the at night at nine in this case will be That sounds really good, doesn't it? If your right hand just a little bit. If the notes in it might actually come, then you can definitely play this. If not, you might have to try it out. All right, so let's recap, Major. Or that's the the way things may minus 1.5 steps up. So based off the majors, two steps, um, and then the at 91 waas one step up from the base goes to Well, always work. Okay. Okay. Let's play coming. Starts using only these two things You may have noticed some. Well, things are changed up a bit, but I only used the money or major chord. And at nine, that's the only thing I use. And It's already sounding really good. All right? No, for the more advanced people. What can you do? Even more. You can do combination off The major minor had nine course. So, for example, if we take, that's just double C sharp. C sharp major thisted record two steps up. Oh, just add the nine in between. Pretty. So that's something. Um, something else you can do way and all the notes. What? I just told you so middle knows Basement again, nights, notes thing base knows repeated. So all these notes, you can't live without any worries. Sometimes it might sound weird. So then you will realize that you can't just leave it out. What? 16. 4.3 Filler Chords (X over Y Chords): all right, Phil Accor's now that's obviously not the, you know, probably off naming them, but I guess it helps for beginners. So if you have, like a 1/4 progressive, let's just do one make. Let's dio c major a major money, and that would be it, right? Let's just do these 34 minutes. You notice how Mrs Look at the left hand and let's just look at the arpeggio thing again. So 1 83 notes right from seeing over to your left is moving downwards, right? And the cool thing is, it's enough playing like this. Come between us. Fill Accor's. Know what it's going to a I'm going to the next one. So the ones in the middle in between are what I call for us. So well, this sound like to make it some songs through this automatically. People don't buy the records down. Um, some songs don't have this, but you can add, so it sounds better. You know, if it sounds like to simple, you can do that in the case off what it's called county stars. You can 10 but I would recommend you can about the other one doesn't always sound good. You know, sometimes it's better to leave it away. Just experimental. How do you play the full course? That's there? That's a big question, right? So oh, let's do the C two. When you jump down, it's really you Go tell Booth Middle States. So Ah, Stace, once you end up on the you know the court, which was originally in the music, you go to the basic stance against again. And now that there comes another Fiddle Corp equipped because of G G, you leave and then go back to you. Want to go further down? You can. That's all. Those not going up asked me where in coming stops that it's the opposite. That's really it's a little bit more difficult because you have to think backwards. So if we go for counting stars, I want to go from here. You and that's this. How are we gonna do that? Now you have to look at the one you're going to, so we're going for through this one. You want to keep the middle note from the one you're going to another one coming from the world record. You're going to use this one. So now We're going to the to the physical world and we're going to use the middle one off the wall that's coming up, which is thing. What's that like? And then once you go to the world that's coming up, you just leave together again. That would. And the same thing goes for when you go to your father about people, you don't do that in their self that you're going down something like. 17. 4.4 Left Hand Example Patterns: Okay. Welcome to the last lecture. Off section For some example, Pet. So we were talking about counting stops all this time. You've always sick of that song. But what? Just a second. That's even more you can do. I'll teach you some example. Parents for that sauce. You can use them in your varied other or used on other variants off other songs. Whatever you want. Just a little thing. You probably now know all the notes you can play. You know the arpeggios. You know what you can do with your left hand, and then I'm just going to play some example pendants just for for the intro. Off the controls, Nash. Chorizo coming stuffs just one way . Wait a minute. In combination with the way. Wait, wait, wait. Previous lecture. Thank you, Major. You can repeat this a couple of times. I'm just gonna keep down, like on with this, So I'm just gonna keep like that song. You can see for yourself what you can do. You You might have noticed I was helping that after a little bit was right. And I wasn't only playing melody. I wasn't only playing. I want to play something. Not that we'll cover that in the next section. 18. 5.1 Advanced Accompaniment (Right Hand): Hi there. Welcome to the advance accompaniment section. You don't know how to company assault with your left hand. I advised you to experiment with various different sauce. Just try out, you know, science you like. Go along with and you'll notice how it's always to stand. You can use the same pattern on any song, just like that's a company myself. Not difficult to figure out which notes went to credit notes, but it's usually the same nerves after that time or something within the major minor, um, ninth cause you know this'll Quist. What's this one? This is based on execute. What's that? Another technique you can use this year. Just have to figure out for yourself. I mean, invest in a particular way of doing this. You just I along with it. I mean figured out using comes naturally someone because it's somewhere way you get something. Just another technique. It's called Lysander. It's basically where you do this to play chords with your right hand, but even put them in the same time. So instead of basically work on the left hand, will also work on the right time. Just get better. You know it's enough playing talk I didn't like separately. So this. Okay, that's way. Do this. Just use your right hand to help whenever. For instance, if someone gets really sad and it goes to a minor counting stars isn't what you said. But, you know, the minor on the beginning is very prominent. So just while you can play with it sounds good and you can help other interests else a little bit more, you know? Fancy. All right? 19. 5.2 7th Chords: All right. Well, come to blast off section off. Not accompaniment Left in my town. Seventh course. What? Hired a seven course. Well, what do we know? We know the ninth court. We know what? The fifties. Something That's the middle of the fifth. Guess what? The seller. This You're right. That's the seventh. Not up on the way. Basically a good rule of thumb to remember. This is just play this before I take your stuff and go one down. One entire notes. Entire life irritable myself. That's gonna me 1/2 note step. That's stuff. So if you d way, I want to use this. Well, you might have seen this already work in the court s c seven or something like that. You can play there. Definitely compared there, but sometimes you can add it. You know, even with assault, does not have it to do that. You after you figured out for yourself. I cannot tell you. When I went out to use it to give an example of how it might sound like I'm gonna give you Just play a song which I I know it's Chinese, so you probably don't know help get my left hand is based. No. Now that's 1/7 chord. It's not difficult. You just apply it. You can place cells which have seventh chords, just ignoring the seven altogether. But it will sound Go to still, but the seventh chord, as you know, a rich kind of tone to the start, so I don't commit playing this. 20. 6.1 Varying Loudness: welcome to the last section for the pros. If you have some kind of musical, you know, got feeling You already know how to do this. You don't have to watch this. So this is just for people who want to spice things up a bit and don't know how to do it. Must look at varying levels first, very loud. This is basically how hard, Ricky likely also, depending on what you want to do. And it really changed the tone off music so you can play a song that's very self can smash it. And it sounds angry so very smoothly than it sounds. Kind of set. No, this whole goes along with speed and everything on a couple speed separately, but it goes all together. Um, I just love this. It already makes a huge difference, right? Also, please. Very loudness within the song. So, you know, maybe make the versatile quiet and then starts playing louder during the during the course , for example, like this, you know, way so very the loudness within the song and also very loudness. You know, depending on the mood you want to set 21. 6.2 Varying Speed: Okay, next one varying speed you might have heard of, like a sneak peek of us already. But you can. I just feel like a little, you know, slowing down a little bit players and speeding up again. So let's take very good stop. All this has taken about river flows in. If you play it with the same speed all the time, they will. Doesn't sound good. So let's do the kind of course. Sounds like this. That's kind of the same speed. Sounds kind of boring. Doesn't like no emotion at once. So if you vary the speed, notice how it also helps adding this together with louder there's always goes hand in hand . You cannot really do one without the other. Sometimes keep that in mind. But that's the thing I want to show you just very quick. Lesson gathering speed makes it some really nice to be able to do that, you know, just like this, you need you need some practice, Okay, Some sums, first or less to the something like, very sad, very happy. You know, 22. 6.3 Adding Little Flourishes: okay. Next, After adding little flourishes while flourishes especially those little things you can add in a solid to make it sound. Even Mawr fancy, right? So we have the various court that's weekend at court. So one lesson we had bigger Sunday. It's kind of a flourish, right? That's just not forget that it's other food. It's kind of a floor. You don't have to do this. Other parts of Florida's do this. So if we do PayPal, for example, sounds like this without a foolish. - Basically , you can go. This works. That's the only type of flesh I use. Anything else is a little bit of over kill, right? Very short lesson. But just a thing you should know. Maybe when you're playing a song. Little floaters really help make a sound in pop even more. It's all the combination off the little things, you know, it was It's the same with everything is really so. If you build it cards, a collection off the parts that make the car great, right. Same thing with piano, so adding these little things will help 23. 6.4 Key Stroke & Sustain Pedal: a little at all, very stroke and using this is taken well. The pedal, I presume you cannot of your origin playing with it. Basically, use your right foot all the sustain pedal Just usually the running to the right, the focus to the right. And when you hold a pedal, it will hold. The key to tell you is that this is like once you let go of to kill a kid will stop sounding basically how to use the six this time pill Press it down Play the song Court change released, Released of Suspect like this Just checked. Don't let your entire me I was just doing this to show how it looks. Just use your foot Do like this That's it. You probably can't do this already. That's just a thing I want to show you. So between every court change just looking for slightly Always keep your foot on it and lift it just sometimes. No, no, no, that's it Keystroke. So you can do it like staccato, which is like a dumpy and your home. Look at him like really small. That's like you can also, depending on the song you're playing, it's gonna make a difference, so that continuity sounds a little happy. So, like one classical piece, If you don't do that, if you hold a penalty, by the way, if you do this, don't use the pedal because it won't work with him. That's with penalties. Not to say mass holding it down right now. Get it? If you want to do that little girl the same piece with way. So it really changes the tell you not use the pedal if you don't use the pedal, depending how you struck the key like quickly. If you don't really small, right, I think to remember. You can apply to your panel playing if you don't know them already. Most people want to get into it that do this automatically, so nothing to worry about. 24. 6.5 Changing Things & Final Tips: Okay, The last I'm probably a little bit controversial thing you can do. You have your own puzzle touched. Two million. Right? Turning. So, you know the Chinese pianist Lang Lang? A lot stranger things. He just changes the piece completely here as his own melody to it. You know what? Not on changing things comes along with not paying. The melodia hopes that if you don't play the melody, 100% will change things in the melody department. You can do that. This one problem. Um, but most of the changes a cure, actually, in your left hand in your in your company. Because, as I said, you cannot planet title consult with your left ankle. Something that's impossible. Well, like an entire back can't do that. So sometimes if you only pay the base things, the courts to base keep. Of course. You know the keys today if I saw a little dull. So by changing things, you can, for instance, as I touched on previously, you can add all the at the Fila courts even though in the song there aren't any right. So, you know, kind of sounds, um, it's just a matter of taste. Some people like doing it. Some people don't. It really depends on the song, too. So if your tech Taylor swift songs that sometimes little simple you want add things in between to make them a little bit better. Uh, that's basically it. Congrats on finishing the course I like at some new material in between or like doing your sections on. Please let me know your thoughts on this course. Given a good rating, everything. It's good. Uh, I hope my effort was worth it. I hope you learned something. I hope you can help a sound bite here, whatever song you like. If there's anything missing, if you would like to know something more in depth, please let me know. Don't give me a bad rating dispute that I know I will add it. This is my first time doing something like this. So I hope it's not too bad. But please, please let me know and I will add it to the course and you'll be able to learn this better . It will improve the experience for the other people. Thank you a lot 25. 7.1 NEW! Quick Recap: Hi there. Welcome to the additional lessons. So this is going to be a quick recap. All the steps in this in this tutorial if you don't want to listen to it all over again, right? So the 1st 1 is your to the song on for this example Little she was a different sound than before Will choose the great escape by boys like girls, which is a pop park song from it from 2006 or something. What I really like. I listen to it a 1,000,000 times and that's what we should do to So first step was choosing a song. 2nd 1 was Listen to it a 1,000,000 times no one off my heart sing along to be able to sing it right Okay, So the next step is to find the cords to listen to the listen to the song Try to hear out the right courts off a song or look them up So this case will presume that you managed to find the court somehow and you played open. So for the chorus off the song it's gonna be a C sharp, minor Major Major on And these four chords are part of the chorus gasam more father courts in this. But I'm not going to go home to detail for this particular stuff. Right? So you should be able to play this with your left hand like this. Open courts, right? Okay. The next step in this tutorial wants to find out the amenity rights. So let's recap again. You find a song you listen to us Know it off by heart Sing to it that you find the courts Played them open with your left hand like this And the melody The melody Do it by humming along and figuring out yourself what it's like But you just try to sing on Find the exact key But the reality is in And then just try to while listening to the song All doom it off memory From the way you sing Try to find out So this case is gonna be like this. Okay, so you have two basic open court and have todo let's talk to join him. Some next step is joining The two has in this basic way. Right? So it's gonna sound something like this. So basically, now you have a song. Don't. But now it's time to add little things. So remember in the oil, I showed you a certain notes. What you can play was, would always sounds good. And then there are other things you can do, right? So the ninth chords seventh cores the arpeggio way off, playing left handed way. So if you just take a patio for this now and basically showed that next step playing, it's on, it's gonna sound like this. Wait, So you may notice that I've t very rigid. It's a bit different different of this, but you can do whatever you want, right? So pay the arpeggios and then you add in the notes, which always sounds good. Uh, you change things up a bit, right? So I'm gonna play the way I will play it. Which would be like, this way, the left hand, a company, the song I. So instead of doing this way, moved the entire left hand an octave lower right on basically went up and down the ladder notes, which you always can play, Always sound so first court, you could go up and down. However you like you can also move your right and higher, which gives both hands more room, right? So itself. Paying it all here basically two hands are cashing, so you can instead off Starting out here, you got to study like this Way grand, right? They have broad a spectrum, that's all. There s size recap again. You to the songs. You listen to the sound a 1,000,000 times. You know that some offer hard, you can sing along to it. Then you find out the course either by listening to it or by looking. Then you play them with your left hand open like this. Men find the melody by singing along to it or by listening to the song while trying to figure out the bounty. Then you're Johnny Two hats in the most simple way possible. And you could a little bit of detail like this with arpeggios Wait for you to accompany yourself with the notes which were always so good way help also, when you're thinking I have enough space to express myself in this something, you can move everything abroad. The thing is, there is no specific way off playing. The left habits are basically improvisation, so I can't teach you accept patterns. All I can tell you it's going up and down the ladder, right? You know, they don't always self good. You can play in order. Wait, doesn't that also as long as you play those notes, it will always sound good. And depending on which side you play different ways of playing different songs, right? So one pattern might sell good for one song. It might not sound so for those, um so if there's a quieter sell you might want to do will slow and quiet Um, a company went so another son, which has the same basic chord progression of compared to this store scale love Bye, Birdie. And it sounds like this and you will notice that the left hand is basically the same courts . But I played in a much different way. So remember before it was like this way same board stained old. Everything is the same. I just changed the way I play it the way that the way I pressed down on the keys, speed and timing as well, right? Everything is different. Even though the same courts are being used. Have fun with it. I hope this little recap help you out and get a real idea of how you go about this in a quicker and more like quicker and better overview. Right? So you don't have risen. Listen to all the lessons again and liberating If you think this was good. Thank you. 26. 7.2 NEW! In Depth Look at RIght Hand Accompaniment: Hi there. So some of you ask questions about the right hand accompaniment. Since I didn't go too much in death, I said in the video that you have to figure this out for yourself. I mean, this is still true. You have to figure this out for yourself, But I'll try to give you in kind of a guideline in this video. What I really haven't done in the other video, right? So let's take a couple. Of course. Let's do see shot minor a major, you major, and be major eso that play this with my left hand only in open court Variant. Look it up. If you haven't seen this total, basically, if there are playing like this just like this so that was c sharp and be right, So make sure you can do this. And now the right hand comes and you saw in what I first played this My right hand was actually playing the minor slash major know us. So the first, the first court waas c sharp minor. So my right hand will be playing the minor? No, In this case, that is 1.5 steps up from the base notes of the base notice. See shot on, first step up would be decide and that 1/2 step up would be Be right. So one step on the half step 1.5 step Find it so my, my templates, This sign. I want you to do the same, right? So just play this on C sharp Minor. Now let's move to the next one. I remember what I said in the other tutorials. I said Minor was one of the half steps up. And Major is two steps up to entire notes from the base note. So I want you to play this and I'll go from minor to major on this. Exactly. So basically, the major key will be just 1/2 step up, right? In this case, that would be this note and just play this a couple of times. Go in between major minor. I don't care. Just do whatever you want. Give us Get comfortable. All right. So now that you kind of know what's going on, I want you to play the chord progression. So remember their core progression c sharp minor And the next one waas a major. So we have basically move your entire both hands down to a and now this would be a minor, right? If you don't quite know this yet, um, actually practice And so you know, immediately, without thinking or counting, right? So that's not again. We go from minor to a major. Make sure you use it, right. Don't use another finger. So see, shop my a major e major, Be major just a couple of times. All right, So now what I want you to do is take your right hand. Let's imagine this is some kind of song. You want a company like you don't want to play that way. You don't want to play the magic. You just want to cover yourself, just playing the course. So again, let's have a look at a C sharp minor. These are all the notes you can play on C sharp minor. So let's have a look at those notes. We have the bass note C sharp. We have the fifth olbg shot of the fifth note up. 123451231 always did knows the bass note. So if you would take one as the base built and just come up in steps. 1 2/5 is the one in the middle of Took it always. Also, take the fifth based the notes. Those are all notes. You can basically play in the minor context. Off course, you can add more things to it, but let's just do this for now. So for your right hand, the same thing dogs. Right. So I want you to just play all the signals which you did with your left hand in whatever fashion you like. So remember, we have C sharp bass note G shop fifth vote on me. That would be the minor road. So I just do the next ones up. Right? This was my left hand place my right hand. And you only know how to play this Not just happen the notes on your left hand to write. So basically, just repeat what's being done. What left in this case, there will be fifth wet and then the basal again. So that's all the way. Let's move this down to a major on up to e major. Down to beat way could see that my hands also stay the same position. Right? See? Shot a major be major, be major. So now what? I want you to do us. Remember this position first, When you first note on your first court c sharp minor. It's a C sharp minor. Now I want you to add this note into it. This note is, it's kind of What is it? Let's have a look. So it's count. 123 4/4. You can add this to sometimes not always and not want to have the ninth to the night of the ninth episode on hyper Note up. Three for so 12345677 age. That's a look much, actually, that's what got the knife fork out itself. It's to the seventh. That's a seven. I think that looks better in a minor key. So let's recap. Bass Note. Fifth Mother notes. Fifth based outs, fourth and then the 7th 7th of this is this one. Basically one note below the below the the basement one entire step below. So let's play all those at the same time. Let's just your left hand always does the same with Just ignore this. Never look here. Whiter Notes. 4th 5th seven. The basement Basically all the notes. You can play in this minor configuration. Basically, if it's 1/7 right, if it's not 1/7 that don't things like this, let's move on to the major. That's what you can do here. So what we played earlier? What's this for a major? We had the major key, the fifth and then the base eso These two notes I just repeated on your right hand makes it a major. My playing in a major way. You know what I like to do is actually appear put my son on the base, not play the night tonight. 79. It's night on. Then play off course the base theme. Major note on the like this Just play along with me, all right. Try to find the notes and at the knife. Sounds like this could also move with down inductive in this case, your thumbs. What class? You're just take one thumb out, right? Eso when you play a song, these are all the notes you can play along amenity, and I usually just use my thumb Ford. You don't want to pay them. So if there's a section in the music where there is no voice where there's no singing. So where there's a pause, Right? So let's have a look at a song with With as a pause, Let's have a look at the new song It's called How What Do You Feel? Bye bye. Sure, it has a really nice can accompaniment, and they deposited with a singer doesn't sing. It sounds like it's right. And now the singer starts in between the same thing Bills. What? So when the singer stopped, it's like this. Sure, that's actually a company a company. Now, the same way you can see while your company you can play all those notes. It's fine. Protect. Look at this. That's exactly way. Only had the left was doctor stuff like this, like this same thing. So in that case, you can play all of them if it sounds. But it doesn't stop. But if it's too much, let's have a look at how to play these things in melody. Okay, so you might have seen on the other two tournament in this tutorial. How, basically my thumb is busy accompany myself. Let's have a look at this summer. Get worked. No, that's actually not Have a look at this song that I will look at out the sun we've always always been using in this tutorial which waas counting stars by one republic Since you're used to this was just a demonstrate how in between, you know the singer making apart why, that's instrumental You can actually play more of the same time. So if we look at our counting stars, you cannot play them all at the same time. That would be too much And it was just, you know, it doesn't sound good if we try that. Let's try it. So counting stars memory sounds like this way off at the same time the amenities a possible way too much. Don't do that. Okay, So what I advise you to do for the somewhere any other song first? Well, you could you could you know, the process of plate normally first without accompanying yourself with tap, and then you can basically whatever doesn't court change. Right? So when you start, that's obviously record. In this case, we have C sharp minor. You play the minor or major note with your thumb while the other fingers play the melody. So the subtle started like this house on C sharp Minor. So you have minor in your head and you just learned how your thumb campaign Minor. No way are playing like this now. Eligibility. So you complain at the start off record company? Anyone just, you know, find out for yourself. In this case, that's back at the start. Cells like this way, this rigidly. I just played the major or minor key with my thumb. Whatever possible. It sounds like this in this case, have to actually move down my left time to give it some space. I think this case, the baby keys already with melodies. That way, at this time I pray at the beginning off the court clashes with ability. Right? So the melodious like on the major note is actually this, so I would have to pay twice. That sounds bet. Good. So that's to make sure that doesn't clash with the melody And how I will pay this something like this way. I see my thumb played this twice for the second court. That's a major. I actually placed the base load. So if you cheat, you can basically play the same role all the time throughout dish in whole cell. If it works, right? If it doesn't work, don't you will hear. So it sounds like this. So basically, the thumb helps If you don't if your story if it sounds wrong, that's all about yourself, that's that's better. That's the agent booth. There was a clash. Let's play the ninth instead. So restrict all together like this. So at the beginning off every court changed. You can play something you don't have to write. You don't have to force yourself. Try try this as an exercise. Use this song. Use the note. I just showed you write for the first chord. Let's play the major note. Minor notes, this'll and then the sandals again for the for the second court. But that would be the basis for the second court and filled cord major. That's a major note for and ninth for the A major for the last one, and it's basically a job off your stomach, right? That's why I told you to use a thumb in the exercise at the beginning. All right, so have fun without try this, and then you can played in between the core change. That's why you don't have to pay the beginning of every court change twice, right? Always play the the note. Would you play it beginning off? Court changed during the court. So and paid all the time. Let's just do it, for example. So let's do the minor for the first court. You know this already? I'm afraid. For every knows, Wait, That's the only no to ever need to comfort yourself. You can go crazy but recommended It's too much. So let's do this solo cancer. Get an idea for this time. Make left more complex would be to play deals at the same time to company yourself. And that's the based on the minor. That's something everything. Cyclic city. I think this is just a company myself. That's the pause in the policy. Improvised E. I hope this was good enough for you. Police. Don't forget to leave a rating. If you have nobody, If there's anything you want me to, just let me know. Abbott. All right. Thank you. 27. 8.1 NEW! Quick Song Tutorial (Yue Ding by Guang Liang): Hi there. So here's a tutorial for the song called You Have They Buy Guangyao Chinese So on, as requested by Mr Robert T from this course I now came came around to do with the total on this stuff. So we'll do this based on what? I've taught you a lesson. So each steps right each and every step. I will not play this song here. You can go and look it up on YouTube. I don't think I can actually play in a tutorial since it has some copyright issues. But I put a big here somewhere or you can go find it yourself and you can listen to the original song. Oh, we'll do this exactly like we did in the tutorial. So we'll go over each step, will go over the courts. All the sections on we'll go from simple difficult. So the first thing we look at a So how does it sound on the piano? OK, But before I play the So I want you to actually listen to the song a couple of times on YouTube or where you have downloaded or bought it somewhere because that way you can get your student and then go and listen to my cover of it on, uh, hopefully get the idea of how it works. So here's my version, but is part of it way , way basically goes, goes ahead and repeat everything I just played. So, you know, the first course pattern, right? That's how it works. You learned the first learned the course you learn Maybe the intro which the South has, and then you're set for the entire song. All right, so let's talk over the intro first and the courts in the intro on its plate first taking a simple ways to get it the way I left The courts are a major. I want you to play open chords If you practice this every goes, you know, That's how we did in the lesson. S o B shot major way have kind of a filic ORT on be over a B shot away. E wants to just look at the left hand for now, you can find played in my time too if you want to. And then from this we go to a flat major. You've got Major and then we go to a F major seventh through this an F major. Seven will be this right? You know what? A seven. It's hopefully after you've seen the tutorial. So play open court of the in trouble sound like this? I'll say each record allowed so you can follow along. So the 1st 1 waas B B flat Maybe. I think I might have said B B shot before, but it's a B flat. Sorry about that, Major. I know we have a B flat over eight that on then, uh, seven made. Okay, that's the interest sorted. So let's repeat again. Just in case I messed up early, I hope I didn't. Um Fisk, Lord waas B flat major, second court WASPy flat over a Villacorta. Also a minor. You can't say that if you want to the next one. Waas. If that major and last one waas f major 7 37th You know how that works altogether. It sounds like this. That's one way. And then you can off course at the notes, which sounds good. Which I did then, for example, you at the major minor note seven. Milt. Basically, I just added the major minor notes and that's everything. So have a look at my left hand, Um, and try to figure out which one is the major money. So again way have, uh, seventh like this. Okay, so that's the interest sorted. Let's move on to the to the verse. The verse passed exactly the same chord progression as the chorus. That's why the stuff is a good choice. It also follows the court ladder progression, the color better. What's that? I have a different course on that. If you want to run this, check out the course on the piano ladder. That's what it's called. But how to play 1000 of songs? The piano letter. That's my other course. Yeah, basically, the letter is going down the ladder, so when you start off from the base, you could go down this way and the major scale. It's basically a major scale, but within the scale that certain chords, which remain a minor major and there some X over y cords or fill accords in between 20 are we call them inversions, too, if you want to do so. Basically, the verse is exactly this. And try to play this in the simplest possible. Just like this, with open course, have a look at them and try to understand it before I teach you exactly what you have to play The melody. You can figure out yourself, I recommend. I'm not gonna teacher every single note off the melody. Just try to figure out for yourself while looking at this tutorial. How so? And now, instead of going back to the base, here we go toe here, I repeat again for the second part of the verse. Same thing, and then the cooler starts and it's the same thing. So let's actually do the course to because left hand sustained way and again it's repeated on. That's basically it. So let's go over each off those ports, some of them you've already played in the intro. So they are mostly the same, plus an additional ones from the lab right from the scale. So the 1st 1 is B flat, major 2nd 1 loss beef that over eight. This 3rd 1 is a G g minor on. Then we have a G minor over F major. So this this is a G is a geo graph major in this case, and then we have the flat major wars. You know, any way have you flat over D minor. So this is an e flat thesis that you fell over t way, have a C money. You can also play this as a C one of seven, so don't know itself with bad. So I played a seven year looks to And then, as I said you instead of going back to the base and go to the F major on, this one is usually played as an F major. Seventh. So thin seven. Okay, so let's go over each of them again. Major, be over a minor G minor G over F major E flat major, you flat over D minor c minor or see my seven and then major or major seven on. I wanted to string this together and try to be able to play like this first before you at the Okay, So let's play it like this. The simple way using this method on all the melody just for you to recap. Okay, you can write the courts down if you want to, or if you want me to write them down, tell me a message. I'll send them to you. I think it's fine if you just get used to be, Oh, ladder concept. Yeah, exactly. Exactly like this basically going down, Skilling said. If you want to know this more death, I recommend the other course. Yeah, so that's this for this time. Let's not add in the the seventh courts not come to seventh again. Seventh on now comes. Of course, - that's basically the song you can. Then go ahead and add notes, which sound good, I recommend before you do that to actually play it, you know the way. And then you add all the notes in the notes. Sound good to the major minor notes. The seventh notes. You use your right hand to help. That's basically it, right. I hope you enjoyed this little Santonio. I hope, Robert, you can learn this song like this easier fashion than just doing it yourself on. I think that's a good lesson to exercise for you to get started on your next song instead of just learning counting stuffs. Okay, if you like this, you have to be writing on If you want me to teach another song, just let me know on if I know what If I can play it, I will be Be very happy. Teoh teach you the basics off that song, just like I did with this one. All right. I see in the next tutorial.
