1. Pinterest introduction: Hello and welcome to my Pinterest masterclass. In this class, I teach you how to use Pinterest and master for your business. I know that Pinterest can be really confusing, but in this master class, I break it down step by step so that you can learn the best techniques for growing your blog's or your website and getting more traffic. My goal of this class is to provide you all the tips and tricks to help you of growing your business on Pinterest. You'll learn how to design high converting pins, how to consistently grow your traffic, how to s e o optimize your pins to optimize your boards as well as creating interest adds. So who remind to teach you so My name? Shanteau. I am a freelance Pinterest marketing manager. I'm also a blogger and YouTuber. I help grow small to medium size companies, Pinterest accounts, and so should leave your accounts of with his instagram on Twitter. I helped to grow Pinterest accounts in niches such as fashion, beauty, lifestyle, fitness on finance and many more as well. So I've had a range of experience, foreign together, multiple Pinterest marketing campaigns, and it's an honor to teach you, and that's a privilege that I don't take lightly. So please stick around 2. How Pinterest works: So what if Pinterest and how do we use their? Pinterest's has more than 250 million people on the platform, so you can absolutely see why It's the perfect platform for your business. The people on Pinterest our buyers, they browse their feeds. They look for inspiration, the search for topics that they're interested in, and then like recompense to learn a little bit more. With this in mind, you have to make sure that your content is appealing and helpful on what people are looking for in your niche. In fact, 63% off weekly pitchers have made purchases based on pins that they saw. We need to make in gauging content for Pinterest that is helpful and inspiring. So to start promoting or brand you will need to have a business account. Pinterest is a visual pace. To catch people's attention, you want to use high quality, compelling images and videos. Consistent ongoing activity is always the best way to build a dedicated audience and Pinterest your pins will reach more people over time because that's how Seo works and you keep seemed results months, even years after you picked. That's why, if your pin hasn't performed well at the start. You should never, ever delete your pin because it can continue to grow months and years off. You pinned it. Remember? S CEO takes time to work. Even if it doesn't take off, It's really not going to hurt your account. My keeping it on there. It's not like an instagram post, where if it doesn't get that many likes, you want to remove it. It can take time, even years, and you will see an old pin taking off and you think, Wow, why is that old pin taking off? And that's how it works sometimes. So let's look at the four main ways that influence how your pin get shown in Pinterest. It really depends on domain quality. This goes back to making sure you create a business account. You need to have a domain quality that means very fine your website and linking to your Pinterest, the council. Whatever is your business website needs to be link to your Pinterest account and that increases your domain quality. You also need to have pinna quality, so if you have a very engaged audience, if people are sharing your content a lot, on Depends that you pin It depends on how engaged your audiences, and that really lets. Pinterest knows that you're pinning really valuable content. That's why I always say it's really essential for brands not to just Repin there same images over and over again and only reaping their own content because it can make your viewers a little bit less engaged. People like to see the most valuable information. So if someone else's pin is similar in your niche and it's very helpful, it could do really well on your board. For example, we have aboard about cats and how to look after cats. You could have pins from other people that are very, very good on. You can have your own pins mixed in together, and it could be 50 50 or it could be 80 20 but just have a little bit off re pins mixed in there. You don't want it to be 100% your own content just to keep that in mind. Okay, really depends on how you're pinning, and that influences how engaged you audiences and also Pinna habits also influence how people find content on Pinterest. So, for example, imagine if someone is looking for hair care tips were really curly hair, and they want to look at how to de tangle, thick curly hair and the easiest ways to do this and the best ways to condition hair. So they want to research this so they're in the research stage and they start to save all of their favorite pins of hair care about curly hand. They save it to their board. So this is where you come in. If you have a product, you don't want to just post a picture off the pretty packaging. You want to post how to do tangle your hair, and you would have different images off how to de tangle. That may be having a photographic tutorial as well, and with your product there as well. And that will get more people to pin it. And then, after they've pinned it to their boards two weeks later, they might go back to Google, or they might go back to the pin board and buy some products that they found for curly hair . So Pinterest more helps to inform people rather than people buying straightaway, Pino's or people who like to plan, and they like to research. This is the key. So when your marketing on Pinterest, you're helping to inform the customers future decisions. So solved awareness strays off your buyer journey, so people usually and generally like to visit Pinterest once per day or a few times per week. People usually like to visit Pinterest when they have something specific in mind that they're looking for that is actually searching for. It's a little bit different from Instagram and Facebook. Put, People are popping in on these social media sites more regularly just to check out what's going on. Whereas on Pinterest, people are going there for a purpose so that they can visit less regularly. They only go on there when they need to, so it's a little bit different. 3. Class Project: Pinterest uses browse their feats for information to search for things on, to look for topics that they're interested in, like the campaigns to learn more information about that topic. But he and other class you would have learned how to create your own high converting pins. I would really love it if you could share your pin of the class and love to see what you created as well. And I'd love before you to share it with the community so that we could give you some feedback and share our design ideas. So now we're going to look at what makes a good pin image. Now you only have a few seconds to attract someone's attention when they're scrolling through the Pinterest, feed the scrolling really fast, and they're not going to look at every single pin. That's where pin design comes in. You need to make sure that your pin is attractive and eye catching, and then this way you can attract ah, high click through rate. They need to know exactly what they're clicking on, and you can show this with the image or pin design that you create. I'm going to show you exactly how I designed these, but let's look at some of the key points that we need to pay attention to, so you need to look. Pay attention to the text. Text is important because it lets the viewer know exactly what they're going to be looking at. But you also have to make it look attractive by variation off the text, size and color size. Here, you can see clearly what this pain is about. Simple steps for investing in real estate, however it's in bright colors, is also in different type fonts on. There's also different images in it, so you can see the image off the money on it. Here, you can see two babies. You know that this is all about the overalls that the Babys are wearing because of the title. So it tells you exactly what you're going to get once you click through. And that's how you want to create your pins. You want to inform the viewer, but at the same time you wanted to look beautiful and visually stimulating. The best tips is making sure to have a high quality tip image like these teeth. It tells you 10 natural ways to bleach your teeth that is in red. Red is a great color to attract people's attention. Clear front, and it tells you exactly what you're going to get if you click for onto this pin. So if you saw this, you would click through because you know exactly what it's about and that is so important when you're creating a pin design. 4. Pinterest Dashboard: So this is the home page on. This is the smart feed. So we're going to actually look at the analytics at the moment. So to look at the analytics, you could even click up here, or you can actually click on here or here, so you've got a choice. So let's look over deep view on this is new next week because they've actually changed the way that you can look at your analytics is a little bit more, um, accurate, actually. So you can see my analytics here, you can see, actually, is a little bit. There's there's a huge jump here on a little bit off dips because I was actually trying some new promotion methods. So it is kind of where I was experimenting. So this is really good, so I can actually see how well I'm doing. So this is impressions on here. You can look at engagements, close ups, link clicks, saves engagement rate, close operate link, click, great save rate. So you can kind of look at all the different kind of analytics and really understand more so again, with the impressions you can see engagement goes up. Um, in correlation with each other. You can change the date range to see whatever dates you wanna have a look at. Could do. Seven days passed last 14. 21 days for today, 60 days or 90 days. I like to look at the last 60 days so that I can see how well I'm progressing. So you can see around here. The engagement was getting was about to K, and that was my regular kind of engagement. And then it kind of done a sharp jump because I did a little bit more exciting content. But I'm going to talk a little bit more about that later, and I was experimenting obits. That's where you can see these jumps. And then there's a drop back down. And then there's another jump up to four K than the drop, and then it's going back up to five k again. So I've been kind of experimenting in the last month also to kind of experiment with that and see what works and what doesn't work. Then you can see organic opinions and paid pencil. You have been doing mostly organic. Um, on Did you can You couldn't see you can make a difference between organic and paid. I only did a couple of paid pins. I don't really spend that much money on paid, but they are good to drive some traffic to. But most of my traffic is organic. As you can see, you can once you claims your website. The great thing is that you can see how much traffic is going to your website. This is my website and I can see how much traffic is going there every single day. I can also see how much traffic is going to YouTube. I haven't connected my YouTube account, so that isn't on there at the moment. And then it shows other pains on dumb. That's all of the pins that you re pinned and how much traffics going mayor as well. So it's really, really exciting to see the results. Onda be able to create tests. So from this I can see what has worked on what pins have not worked. And with these experiments, I can see Okay, The pins that I used during this time were performing really well on. Then when I went back to my original content, it's kind of dropped, so we're gonna go for that sort strategy that I was using 5. Using High Quality Images: Creating great pins is the key selling point off your website or your products. When you create new pins, you want to have your target audience in mind. Use high quality images on you. Want to use the aspect ratio off to to free. This is really important steps. Eva 600 by 900 picks ills or you could even do 1000 by 1500. Just remember to to free. You should put your logo a website address in your images on make sure that it's a vertical image. This is so important to find high quality images. There's a really great website, this semi good free stock image websites. But one of the ones that I really recommend is unspool ash. They have amazing images on there, and it's all free to use commercially. It's great because they have really high quality images, and all of the images are really beautiful and have a nice theme. I think that they feel toe what kind of photographers can actually upload their products to it. Even though it's a free platform, you're finding really high quality images that you would usually have to pay for, so you can see all of the's images of professionally lit. They're beautiful and they're perfect for any setting. You can just download it and you can choose to give thanks to the photographer or not seeking. Credit them or you don't have to, and that's all within the terms of use. You can use them however you want to, and they have so many images blows off. Topics to choose from said this is a perfect resource when creating your own pins is so important to have high quality images to attract people to click on your pin. 6. Pin Design On Canva: So now we're going to start the design process I'm using Can Va and we have to do search for Pinterest and it will come up with the right size for you. This is the two free size, so to buy free. And that's the best size for Pinterest. Nothing longer and I think, sure, turn off X square. This is the perfect size for your pin to be optimized. So now I'm heading over to my favorite stock image website. This is unspool ash. Um, it's really easy to use. And to find images, I'm going to be creating a pin about properties. So I'm trying to find the most eye catching images. Bright ones, maybe once the bright light, nothing too dark. You want to find some really interesting images, so that's what I'm looking for. At the moment. I'm just trying to find the best images, so I've collected a few, and you can just click and drag them straight into Can va and it will just start downloading them for you. And it's so easy to use. That's why I really love camper. It's simple, and you can just click and drag, so I'm just waiting for them to upload, and I'm going to start adding my text. So this is to text. I've just pasted it here and it's I'm just changing the title around, trying to think off an eye catching title. Just tried to think of really creative ideas of what's going to catch someone's attention. So I've decided that this is going to be my title. Simple steps for investing in real estate and then copy and pasting free times because I'm going to split the text up in three different parts. I'm doing this because it's good to vary the type, phone the colors on the sizes, so I've got the whole in type sentence. But I've broken it up into three parts, and I'm going to find out what would be the best sort of type. Want to use something really big and bold? You want to look for some looking for something that's bold, pretty easy to read on Dunder scrolling through. It's really simple. I'm just trying to decide whether what's going to look good and just try to use your I. It's all about testing. There's no salt perfect formula. The key steps is making sure to have something that's eye catching bright and bold so that people can read. It is easy to read, so I decided to go with this text. I've wormed it quite interesting, and I'm gonna go for darker color of red. So that is vibrant. And now I'm going to start working on to the next piece of text and just vary in the different sorts of tight phones. So since it's going to be for investing, I went four sort of like a old English kind of front because it's more like investing's a useful like think of real estate to try and think off the FEMA's well on. Try and get the text match the theme. So I'm just using different colors and just so linked the color to the top color used the same colors, the top text on. I'm just placing the image so I place that behind there. It didn't look good because you couldn't read the text very well, and it wasn't very clear. So now I've used a just an image at the bottom instead, and I'm just trying to find an arrow so that I could show something. This pointing towards what I'm showing. So it's really bold, and I'm just fixing it on the page and just making small adjustments just so that I can see what works. It's all about looking at it and trying to think about the negative space and positive space on your page. Utilizing that utilizing color and all you have to do is that you have to pay attention to your analytics like what I was looking at before when I was looking at my analytics. Realize what pins are doing well and what beans are not doing so well. So it's all about testing on. There's no perfect way for you to make the perfect sort off image. There's only some tips that you can follow. And then once you pay attention to your analytics, you'll be able to see what works the best. So I'm just adding some of thes free little clip art that they have with the transparent background, which is really nice, and I found something I really like, So I'm going to keep this and add some little coin science. It kind of draws people's attention to it. They think, Oh, money housing realist A. It's I catching, So I'm ready. I'm pretty done. It didn't take me long about 10 minutes and I finished 7. Keword Research And SEO: So now we're going to look at a really good S CEO technique. We're gonna use the very tall that's within Pinterest itself, which is the search bar, and here you can find really good keywords. The easiest way is to type your search time into the bar, and it will actually pull up all of these other key words that people have searched for in Pinterest's. That's a really easy way to find keywords. Another tool that I actually use is the tool called keywords. Everywhere is a chrome extension that you can download onto onto your browser. Onda allows you to see the competition on the search volume for each keyword that you type into the search bar, so it's very useful. So we're going to start off by searching for our keyword on the key word that I've chosen is fashion. So first of all, it comes up before these different options, and here along here, you can see, are all the different options or the keywords that people have typed in, and it just gives you all of the suggestions. So these are the first key words that you need to write down make notes off when you're searching for any kind of keyword. These are the key terms that people are looking for, and you can just click on them and then Pinterest will suggest more keywords. So what I'm doing now is that I'm copying paste in that, and I'm going into Google on paste in there into my search bar. I have a talk. Would the key would keywords everywhere on this is what the tour looks like when it's installed. It will bring up all of these different analytics for you. For each keyword. Here, you can see the search volume per month. You can also see the cost per click on the competition on this is what it looks like. You can go over to keywords everywhere you can download. It's 100% free and accurate, and it's really great for any kind of keywords research. This is specifically good for if you're doing S CEO on any think, really so it's a fantastic tool to use, so that's how you would just use it. And I'm just doing home decor and I'm searching and I could see all of the key words at the top. So he concealed the keywords thes are the ones that you want to take. Note off on copy and pasting that search term and then paste in the into Google to see what comes up. So up here you can see how many times per month it's been searched, the cost per click and the competition. So what you're looking for is a search term that has less than 1000 searches per month because you don't want it be too competitive. You also want the competition to be low, so the perfect one is anything between 1000 unless and also something with, ah, high cost per click on a low competition score. That is what you would call a gap in the market and a potential for you to rank high for that keyword. So if you confined so a gold little nugget out there, then that is the perfect key word for you to use. And I called those the special little nuggets and the special little secrets that you confined because you're very lucky if you confined a non competitive keyword that you can rank for, because it means that it's got a high search term and there's no a lot of people looking for a and if it's got a high cost per click, that means that advertisements are willing to pay a lot of money for that. And that basically means that people who are searching for that hi converting customers sido the more a search term course, the more money that some will spend on acquiring a customer for that search term. The lower is the lower converting that customer is, so that's good for sales, obviously. 8. Hashtag Feed: another way you can get found insert. She's with the hashtag feed The hash cat feed is in chronological order so you don't really need to add new hashtags to old pins. It really only works with fresh content. So you want to use at least around 12 free That is optimal even though you can add up to 20 . But the best amount is 12 free because hashtag the way hashtag sweat some Pinterest is no exactly the same way it works on other platforms. When you search for something on Pinterest, the hashtag is don't usually serve the purpose of getting your pin founding. Search the S e o helps to get your pin founding for search. But what hashtags do is if a person searches for that hashtag then they confined your pin in chronological order. So this means that it really helps fresh content. The one of the ways that I like to find good Hashtags is with a website called all hashtag is really great and you can select random the best or live hashtag life hashtag means ones though being used a lot at the moment, so it kind of detects the best hashtag that you can use, and I like to go through them and see which ones are relevant to me. It gives you lots of different options so that you can find really good combinations of Hashtags and you're not stuck using the same kinds of hashtags all the time again. You don't want to use the whole 20 hashtags, but you just want to choose the best ones. And I find that using live hashtags, let's me know what's being searched the most at that moment, and it's a really great way for me to pick good hash tags that can help me get found on Pinterest. And here you can just see all the different options, so it gives you a lot of different options around whatever hashtag you put in there. 9. Pin Upload And Scheduling : So let's look at how we can upload and create Arpin and also look at how we can use the built in systems for up in. So this is a pin that I just created, and I'm going to add a title. So I had some keyword research. I was doing some keyword research before and I decided on my title. So I was just using the inbuilt tools that the search that really helps you to decide what we're going to be really useful to target those keywords. So I use that as my title. Andi, I am going to be promoting one of my videos on my YouTube channel. So I am just trying to figure out the best g. Woods to promote that and then just typing in how to create Did you two marked in cells photo? And now I'm going to the video that I'm going to promote, and this is the video that I'm promoting. So it's all about social media sales strategy and how you can get great results of that. And I already did s CEO on the description for my video. So it's already done for me. But if he was doing it from scratch. You would just want to use all of the key words, but make them into full sentences and it needs to be something that makes sense. This is a little bit too long, so I'm going to have to edit down the description and try and make it less because you can't use that many words for a peon descriptions. I'm gonna delete the bomb heart because it wasn't so relevant. And I'm adding in some hashtag that I think are relevant. So hashtag sales. And then I'm looking at some of the key words here and doing a little bit more keyword research to see what comes up. And I'm seeing that this hashtag is a good hashtag. I'm going to go ahead and use that and again, I'm going to have another look and see some more hashtags. Which ones are the best ones? The best way to search is just use the search bar in Pinterest. That's the easiest way to search for Weber and or its a good hashtag or search term to use . And I'm just copying and painted that straight into my descriptions. That's all done. So now you have to put your your URL. So I'm just copying and pasting my your l And this is how you can link it out to ever page . So you just pay. So you are elder. You have two options here whether or not you want to post today or were for not you on the post tomorrow. So I've just selected you could select a day and you can pre schedule of your pins right in Pinterest so you don't really need a tailwind or any other schedule up. You can use them for ease. But this is a great tool, and I've been using this a lot with manual pinning and using this toe of use different schedules before, and I think this works extremely well. So I've just scheduled that for that day. And then I put Saito aboard and I pressed pin and now my sketch, my Penis scheduled, and you can go and have a look at it. So when you see one of your scheduled pins, you can see it at the top bar here and no one else could see it but you and it lets you know what date and time each pin is scheduled to go out 10. Creating Boards: So to create a board, what we would have to do issued go to your main page. So creating a board, you could just click this little plus sign where it says create aboard on Deacon, start naming it. So maybe on they mind female leadership, I'm gonna keep this sport a secret. For now. This is for if you want it to be personal and you don't want anyone else to see it. Since I'm doing this for the course, I'm just gonna keep it a secret for now. But for your own ones, you'd probably want to keep it public, and then it would just generate some ideas for year. So with this, you have a little pen, I corn at the top, and this is where you can fill out the description. This is very important. So you want to use the keywords. So let's copy this, and we're gonna go into Google and find out the keywords for female leadership. So we've our tool. We know that the search volume is 80 per month. The CPC is $1.22 the composition is 0.7. So that's quite good. You know, there's a nice search volume. It's not too competitive on its No, um, not competitive enough. And it's also there's there's not too much competition on there. This is a perfect one to target. So we have some key words on the side. Andi showing you which one which keywords. I've got the most such results. This female leadership styles advantage off female leadership. So I'm going to go ahead and click on advantages off female leadership, and that has 10 per month. So you want to have keywords off different strips when you're using it to create your titles. So I'm gonna copy that, and they go go back to my board So this board is about and then the copy and paste the advantages on the advantages off female leadership. Okay, so we've got our first key where we got a cute in a title which is female leadership with has 80 per month searches. And then we've got this one that has 10 per months searches, and then we have some more. So this one is 20. Okay, the search William is 20. So I'm gonna go ahead and could come that andi I'm going to. So it's important to use keywords and four sentences as well. It's offensive, Life said. This sport is about the advantages off female leadership. Andi, how Let me paste how bare barriers to female leadership can hold us back and how to overcome, overcome are barriers. So for anyone who is searching for these keywords are board will show up in the top of the results. And you can just keep using more more keywords. You could even spend its little is $11 per day. Or you could spend as much as for today and then you just need to add a lot off your keywords. This is where will your keyword research comes in because you're going to be adding them right here at the bottom. So I'm just adding a few more keywords, and I'm just doing a bit of research and just adding all the key words that I want. So I've done all the keywords and now just press promote, and it is that simple is so easy, so that's going to be promoted. It needs to be approved. Let's have a look at the ad that we just created. If you click right here, you can actually see the ad that you've just created, and we're gonna have a look at that. So this is the ad that we've just created, and it's super simple. Once it's alive, you'll be able to see ALS the results off the ad, and you can see all of these different sections here so you can have a lot of different information about your ad and see understand their performance about it. So they're awesome. Advanced sings that weaken tap into, and you can see here you can choose the gender off the person who you want to target. You can, but I'm just for this advanced the target. All are. You could also choose the age what kind of age group you want tohave so you can really go in and target in the advanced settings, and then you can also choose what countries you want it to be targeted in the language as well. So there's some really nice advanced settings where you can really focus down onto the audience that you want to target and also this off interest that they might have a swell. So it's very, very specific and you can get to talk it the person who you really think is your target market, and you can get really deep into that, which is great. So I'm just having a check crew and looking through. But I'm not gonna select any off those interests at the side. It tells you how big the audience is, whether it's narrow or if it's broad Onda. You can have a little look over here to see the search volume off each search term. So if we typing sales, we can see how many times per month that search term it gets searched and it shows you all of the different search volumes, which is extremely handy. So I'm just typing in different search terms and seeing which ones are the best ones to use . This video is about sales, and it's also about using social media to generate cells. Make sure days easy for people to see what you're all about and understand your boards and consider what your pins will look like in the feeds, not just how we look on the board, but really try to design it so that it can be high converting and also have different pins . If you want to have multiple pins, you can have it link to your book post. So instead of having the same thing over and over again, you can have multiple ones to link toe one block post. So remember to have a buyer personas, or this will help you to target the audience you want to sell to. Don't try to appeal to everyone because you end up appealing to no one when you create your pains, so start from your audience perspective. Create an idea off your buyer persona or your target customer right up in outline or who the buyer is, or who your audiences and why they would like to visit your webpage and how you can help them. And why did they use Pinterest? What are they looking for? What kind of ideas are they looking for and how can you help them make a decision? So that's all of the things that you need to be asking yourself when you're creating your pins and also utilize rich pins. And this comes with once you verify juleps I and claimed your website. You can do some rich pins and rich pins can directly linked to a product or a block post. And setting up bit rich pins is just this really simple two step process. You just have to apply for rich plans. Rich pins make shopping easier. They include the real time shopping prices on availability and infirm. Where to buy your products. So, for example, if you have something around Valentine's Day or Christmas, if you have something that relates to that day and you could do a theme board like a gift guide for him and on this board, you could add a wheelie meat and core, so off gifts for men on that board, as well as mixing in your own products as well. And that's a really great way to promote things on your website so you can have your own boards specifically for your products. And then you can create several rough aboards mixing in other ideas.
