1. Intro - Major Scales And Chords : Hey guys, welcome to my course, the major scales
and chords series. This is going to be the first of a two-part series in this class. I'm going to show you all
of the major scales in the left-hand and the right-hand and playing them
at the same time. I'm also going to show
you how to play the cause of illness skills
in our right hand. So e.g. I'm gonna show you how
to find the C major chord, C major scale, and
a D major chord, D major scale, and so on. I will also be breaking down to you to circle
of fifths and how that works in regards
to learn major scales. So I look forward to having
you on this course and showing you the skills
and the courts. Alright, so I'll see you all.
2. Scales And Chords Explanation: So what is a scale? A scale is basically a family of nodes that
belong to each other. So think of it like
your real fan. You've got your mom or your dad. You got your cousins, your arms, your nieces, etc. Alright, to see a
scale like a family of nodes that belong
to each other, right? So think of it like this, that each family has
its own personality. E.g. you might have a happy
family over here and maybe a family that's a bit more
not so happy over here. So that is how I want you to
approach your skills now to see them as a family,
different families. Also, there are many
skills as well, not just one skill. So you've got major scale, you've got minor scale, you've got pentatonic scales, you've got your blues scales. You've got Asian skills. You've got so many
different scales that are used in all types of music. But the most common scale
that you will find, especially in the Western world, is the minor and major scale. And that's the skills
that you'll find in pop, rock songs, hip hop
songs, R&B songs, etc. So what is a code? A code is basically more than one note
played at the same time. So a melody is when you play
one single node at a time, but codes when you
play more than one OH, at the same time. And the code can be
as small as two notes and as big as Can
not being played. So in order to teach you
the skills and cools, and then they use a tool
called the circle of fifths. And I know you're
probably wondering what is the circle of fifths? So the circle of fifths is
just a tool that is used to show the relationships
between the notes, the tones in a chromatic scale. It also shows their
key signatures, and also it shows you
the major and minor keys and how they relate to
each other as well. This will all be explained
within the course as well. So I'm going to
break all this down to you in the lesson,
so don't worry, it will all become clear when we start doing it. Practically. So enough of the token, we're
going to start right now. So I will see you for
our very first lesson.
3. Circle of 5ths + 4ths Explained : Then you quickly explain
to you how circumfix work. So when we go clockwise, sharps, when we
go anticlockwise, it's gonna be flats or sharps, meaning the hashtags, and flat meaning the
uncoupled to bees. So the circle face or clockwise, and the circle of fourths
or anticlockwise. Let's start with
C as an example. The first five notes of a
C major scale are C, D, E. G is a fifth note
in the scale of C is G. So that'll be the next note in the
circle of fifths. So that's why we go to G
next after the sequence, the fifth note in
the previous scale. So if you go to
G, the fifth note in a G major scale is D. That's what the next note
in the circle of fifths. And if you go to
D, The next note, fifth note in the D
major scale is a HUB. You're now seeing
a pattern. If you noticed on the diagram, C has no sharps or flats. But when you've got
two G major scale, you notice there
was one black node, which is the F-sharp. We go to the D major scale. We noticed the rest
of two black notes, which is the F-sharp
and C-sharp. So what we're essentially doing, so we're adding a
new sharp node. It's the new skills
that were on. Okay? Just keeps adding on. And similar to a
circle of fifths, the circle forced at
flat nodes, right? So still black notes, but
we're calling them flats. So if you notice f
has one black node, which is the B-flat,
which has one flat. Then we go to the next
note, which is B-flat, which is the fourth note
in the F major scale. The F major scales, F, G, a, B-Flat, the
footnote, right? That's why he's got B-flat. B-flat has two black nodes, which is the B-flat, which was found in
the F-major scale. And the new black
note, which is E flat. Okay, so that's what
our pattern works. So if what I just said,
She is not clear who will make sense once we put
it all into practice. So we're now going to start
our very first lesson, which is the C major
scale and cold as well.
4. C Major Scale Intro: The very first girl will go to look at is the C major scale. And as previously mentioned, the C major scale has
no sharps or flats. And I can see next up, I'm going to show you how you
play the scale in our Ryan.
5. CM Scale (Right Hand) : I'm going to show you
the C major scale in the right hand first. I'm going to do it
over to update that, I'm gonna show you
the left hand, the C major scale afterwards. So in the right hand,
it goes like this. I'll play to you
quickly after 41234. And there we have it, guys. So to play this, what we need to do is
that we put our thumb on that C and we go up 123. So 123. Then when we get
to that third finger, we have to go underwater form like this because underneath it, 12341, more time. So it's 123, go underneath 1234. We get to that full finger. We've got underneath
again with the thumb, 123 and under again, 1,234.5. Flee one more time.
So it goes like this. 123, go under, 1234,
go under again. 123, go under 1,234.5. So I'm gonna play this
for the metronome and I would like you to join me. So I'm playing this at
90 ppm off the fall. 123, go under under under. Let's do that again. 123, go under
under, under again. We end there. Okay, and going backwards now
it goes like this. So we're going back with 54321. Now we'll go over with the
third finger, free to one, because over with
the forefinger, 4321, go over with
the first finger. One free, 321. By that. One more time. So
it goes like this. 54321, go over the phone with the third
finger free to one. Now with the fourth, 4321. Now, 32.1 plays with the metronome now and
I want you to draw me just going backwards. 123, go over, over, over one more time. 123, go over, over, over. There, we have it. So now guys, I wanted to go forward and backwards with the scale. Okay. So after 4123, go backwards and hello wasn't
too hard for you. Let's do that one more time. 123, go backwards. And that is how we
play this exercise going forward and backwards
in the right hand. So next I'm going
to show you how we play this in the left-hand.
6. CM Scale (Left Hand ) : I am now going to
show you how we play the C major scale
in the left hand. So after four, I'm gonna
demonstrate this to you, 1234. So to play this one, we now start with my pinky, a little finger, which
is the fifth finger. And we go up 54321, go over with the first finger, free to one over the fourth. 432110 over with
the third, 32.1. Let's see one more time. So it's 54321 over
with the third free to one over with a force
over the third, 32.1. This pace with the metronome. So dry me off the floor
when you're ready. 123, go over one more time. 123, go over, over over n. Rush to go backwards until
you got afford Park, correct. So now going backwards,
we go like this. So it's 123 under 1234, go under one to Frank
Underwood, the farm, 1,234.5. We want more time.
So it's 12341234. Go under 123 under

looking at putting both hands together
for the C major scale. So it goes like this. I
play it for you quickly. So after 41234. And that's how you play the
C major scale in both hands. So to be able to play
both hands together, you've got to really
know your left hand and right hand going
forward and backwards. So let me explain
how we're going to do this. So it goes like this. So it's 123, go under, we hit a free in
your right hand. Then continue on for five to go over with the left
hand with the third finger. Then this gives the forefinger. Now in the right hand, we go under with the firm. Then go over now with our third finger in the
left hand on the day. Tim go under now the
right hand on the E, and go over now with the forefinger on the
G in your left hand. Can be completed. Right? That. But if
you want more time, so it's one free go under which
your right hand on the G, we go over the left-hand. Then on the baby go
under the right hand. Over now on D with the left
hand, with the forefinger. Go under now on the E Again, the right hand, on the G, because over with the left
hand, then complete it. Just like that. Alright, so now I want us to

8. C Major Chord Intro: Now to play the C major chord, or we have to do is
take that first, third, and fifth
note of that scale. So the notes will be C as this, the first note in the scale. That will be E. And the next note would be G, which is the fifth note
in the major scale. So that's how we form
the major chord song and show you how
you play that next.
9. C Major Chord : A C major chord with
power from on the sea. First finger on the E, and our little finger
on the genome. And we press it down
like this. Again. 2341 more time. 234. And that's it.
10. G Major Scale Intro: G may just go to the next
scale in the circle of fifths. And that scale has
one black node. One black nodes is the F
sharp, as you can see. I'm going to show you
how it played his neck.
11. GM Scale (Right Hand): So we're now going to look at our next scale in the
circle of fifths, which is the G major scale. So just to note, the fingering is exactly the
same as the C major scale. So it's going to be 1, 2 3, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3, 1 2 3, 4, 5. So like this. So CI, go under with a farm 123. Now your forefinger will
go into the F sharp. So that'll be our only
black nodes going from G to G. Go under 123, go under 1234, and F
sharp again, and five. So all you need to know is
that your forefinger will always land on that black
note, which is the F sharp. Okay, let's do that

with the forefinger. Go under again on
the g123o under one, free, and end on the fifth
finger, which is five. So just have this in mind. We're just going from G to G. So all the white notes
apart from F, which is now turned to F sharp. So we no longer play F
and we play F sharp. So that's the only
difference with a C scale and the G scale is that
we're going from G to G. And we're playing F
sharp as our black node. So we're not going to play
this with the metronome at 80 BPM after 4123, go one more time, 123, go. That is how we pay
the right-hand side, the G major scale. So I'll see you

12. GM Scale (Left Hand): So for the left hand
or the same fingering as I mentioned before, but now we're
adding the F sharp. Alright, so like this,
watch my fingers. So it's 54321, free. Now your second finger will
go into F sharp, 214-32-1321. So just know that your
second finger lands on the F sharp now, right and going backwards. 123-123-4123, then 1,234.5. Let's do that one
more time, right? No metronome. So 123, go 123. Go back. Now at the metronome
after 41234. And that is how we
pay the left hand. So next up is both
hands together.
13. GM Scale (Both Hands): So we're gonna put both
hands together now, and it's exactly the same
finger pattern as C major. Just want to repeat that again. All we're doing now
is F-sharp starting on G and add an F sharp node. So I'm going to
play this nice and slow so you can see what
my fingers are doing. So it goes like this. One. Free, changing your
right hand to the farm, but keep going your
left hand for five, go over your left hand. Free-fed fingers together. Then the second finger in your left hand will be on the F sharp and your forefinger in the
right hand will be on F sharp. Then firms together. Forefinger over in
your left hand. Then under in your right hand with the farm thing is
all the five fingers in your right hand over your left hand with
the third finger. Then end like that. Alright, so you can
watch that over and over as you understand what
I do with my fingers. Yep. So now let's Trump
put this all together. Alright, just going forward. So after 4,123.4 s forefinger on a black note
from over over the left hand. And there we have it. As you should know by now, we're using the same
thing as going backwards, as we use going forward. So like this, I would like you all just to
work on going forward and backwards with the
G major scale. And tight, nice and slow
without no metronome, the whites, you can do that. Then I would like you to
draw me at this point here. Well, I'm going to play
with the metronome going forward and backwards
in both hands. After 4123, go again, 234. And that is how we play. G major scale in both hands
go forward and backwards. So just work on that for me and I'll see you
for our next scale, which is D major.
14. G Major Chord Into: The notes for the G
major chord, our g, which is the first
note of the scale, which the third
note in the scale. And D, which is the
fifth note in the scale. I will show you this next.
15. G Major Chord: The G major chord, our CI, which is the
first note of the scale. B, which is the third
note of the scale, and D, which is the
fifth note of the scale. So when you put your
hands in this position, from on the first note, third finger on
the second row and pinky on the third note.
And press it down. And do that again. 12341.
More time. Okay, great. And that is how we
paid a G major chord.
16. D Major Scale intro: Next scale in a circle of
fifths is going to be. So D has two sharps nodes. These sharp nodes are
going to be F sharp, which we already have played. So our next black node
is going to be C-sharp. And I'm going to show the scope.
17. DM Scale (Right Hand): So for the major now, our new black note is
going to be C sharp. So for the G major scale, we had that one black note, which is F sharp in D-major. We now add another black
note which is C sharp. So for the D major scale, all we're basically doing
is going from D to D, but we are now adding
the F sharp and it's not gonna be F. And C-Sharp, C has now been eliminated
from the scale. So let me show you this
in the right hand first, and we'll go to left
hand afterwards. So we're going to use
the same finger pattern for this scale as well. So it goes like this. Skip F go to F-sharp, go under, skip C, go to C-sharp with the
forefinger. Then repeat it. And we stop there. Let's do that one more time. So your first finger
will be on the F sharp and your forefinger will land on the
C-Sharp on this scale. Okay, so let's do this again. 1234. There we have it going forwards and backwards. Disrupt. Just remember that
your four fingers on the C-sharp and your first
finger is on the F sharp. So there we have it, guys. So you can practice that going
forward and backwards in your right hand and
then dry me to play with the metronome once
you feel comfortable. So after 412341 more time, 123, go. So that is how we play the D major scale in
our right-hand side, I'll show you the
left-hand next.
18. DM Scale (Left Hand): In the left-hand, our
third finger paste the F sharp and our second
finger places C-sharp. There. It goes like this. One more time. Let's go backwards now. Nice and slow. So that's us now play that with
a metronome, 1234, free fall. And that is how you
play the D major scale in our left hand.
19. DM Scale (Both Hands): The D major scale. Both warfare fingers are
going to hit the F sharp. Then we go under
in our right hand. Now second finger
hits the C-sharp, whilst the forefinger
hits the C-sharp. So second finger hits the
C-sharp and the left-hand, whilst the forefinger hits the
C-Sharp in the right hand. To go in and go backwards. How we play it. So just have that in mind that your
four fingers hit the F sharp. And your second thing
when the left hand and your forefinger in a right
hand hit the C Sharp. Alright, so let's put
that all together. But the metronome
off the fall 1234. After 41234234? Yes. Working at scale for me before you attempt
to do the next girl, which is gonna be a major

20. D Major Chord Intro: The notes for the D major chord, D, which is the first
note of the scale. F-sharp, which is the
third note in the scale, which is the fifth
note of the scale. And I'm going to show you.
21. D Major Chord: D major chord we put
off from on the D, which is the first
note of the scale. Then our third
finger on F sharp, which is the third
note of the scale. And our little finger on a, which is the fifth
note of the scale. Press that down together. Again. 1,234.1 more time, 1234. Yep, so get used to the
feel of that code, right? And I'll see you
for the next one.
22. A Major Scale Intro: Next scale in the circle of
fifths is going to be a. A has free black notes. We have already used the
C-sharp and G-sharp, which is in the a major scale. But we now have a new
black node, which G-sharp. So next up, I'm going to show
you how we play the scale. The notes for the a major chord, which is the first
note in the scale. C-sharp, which the third, knowing that a
major scale and E, which is the fifth note
in the major scale. So I will show you this.
23. AM Scale (Right Hand): So for the a major scale, we're adding another black node. So we already have the F
sharp from the G major scale, the additional C-sharp
from the D major scale, and a new black node is
going to be G-sharp. Now we are free black
notes in a major scale. Alright, so starting
on a right hand first, and it's the same finger
pattern as before. So it's one. She says in Granada,
C-sharp. Go under. Now your third and fourth. Your third finger, F-sharp, and your forefinger
be on G-sharp. Then we start the
whole pattern again. F sharp, forefinger on to shop. So just have in mind that
the first thing we will play C-sharp and F sharp. And you're fulfilling
all play G-sharp note. Alright, let's do that together. Off the 412, 34f sharp, G sharp. There we have it. So

at both your hands together for the a major scale. So it goes like this. First fingers at the same time
on a black note, C-sharp. Go on down your right hand, over your left hand and then your third fingers
on F sharp together. But now your second thing, Gobi and G-sharp
wash your forefinger and forefinger is on
G-sharp in your right hand. Go under oath in your left hand. Fingers together on C-sharp
in your right hand. Then searching this gecko, second and fourth end

26. A Major Chord Intro: The notes for the a
major code are eight, which is the first
note in the scale. C-sharp, which is the third
row in a major scale, and E, which is the fifth
note in the major scale. I will show you this next.
27. A Major Chord: A major code for our family, a, which is the first
note of the scale. Third finger on C-sharp, which is the third
note of the scale. And a little thing on E, which the fifth
note of the scale. And press that down
altogether like this. 1234 and again, 12341,
more time, 1234. So work on that for me.
28. E Major Scale Intro: Next up in a circle
with the Connect. So the E major scale
has four sharp notes. This sharp nose include
the ones we would use, which are the F-sharp,
C-sharp, and G-sharp. New black note now, is that the shot in the email? So I'm going to
show you this one.
29. EM Scale (Right Hand): So now for the E major scale, we add another black note, which is the D-Sharp Lucknow. So we now have F-sharp, C-sharp, G-sharp, D-sharp, and all the same things
as before in both hands. So it goes like this. She shops. So second finger and third finger on F-sharp
and C-sharp go under. Now the third and fourth
finger will threaten, go beyond C-sharp, D-sharp. And that's it. So all your four fingers
will be on a black node. So your second and third
finger will be on F-sharp, G-sharp, and your third and fourth will be on the
C-sharp, D-sharp. I do for you one
more time because e, second finger on F-sharp, G-sharp go under a certain day now on C-sharp and
forefinger and D-sharp, and that's it. Then keep going. That's it. Then go backwards. Forefinger and

30. EM Scale (Left Hand): So now in our left-hand, we put our forefinger
on F-sharp, third finger and G-sharp. Third finger on C-sharp. Second finger on D-sharp. Go again, full finger,
F-sharp, G-sharp. The fat finger on C-sharp, second finger and
D-sharp and firm. And do that again, free, write me talking, nice
and slow off the fall. One to free dough. That's it. Alright, and going backwards from the same fingers. So just work on that for me
in your left hand and dry me once you're ready with
the metronome 123, go. And that's how he

31. EM Scale (Both Hands): So we are now going to do
both hands at the same time. So just make note of this. Our fourth finger in the left hand and
our second finger and the right hand
will match together. Our first fingers on G-sharp will match
together in both hands. Then when we go to the C-Sharp, or forgetting who
match on C sharp, then our second and our second in the left hand
and are fulfilled. The right-hand will match
together on D-sharp. Alright, so I'll say
it one more time. So the forefinger on
your left hand and the second finger in your
right hand will match to give our third fingers
together on G-sharp, Then third fingers
together on C-sharp. Then the second thing, gut and your left hand on
D sharp and the forefinger on D-sharp in your right
hand will match together. Let's put up, Let's
play that now. Nice and slow. Starting from E, this one, to free. Fall. Just like that. Now, join me. Good,
nice and slow. On the left hand. The left hand under
the right hand. So do that. So
working out for me. So now we're going
to go backwards. So it goes like this. Right? So now let's put
that altogether are going forward and backwards
with the metronome. But first work on it
without no metronome, then joining
afterwards, once you're comfortable playing it
forward and backwards. After 4123 for and there we have it guys, so working out for me and I will see you for our next scale, which is the B major scale.
32. E Major chord intro: So the E major chord
are going to be E. The first note, G sharp, which is the third node, and B, which is the difference.
33. E Major Chord : A major code for performing the E G-sharp and our
pinky on the bee. And we press that down
altogether like this. 234 and again, 1234 more time.
34. B Major Scale Intro: Next in a circle of fifths,
we're looking at B. The B major scale
has five sharpness. Sharpness includes C-sharp,
D-sharp, F-sharp, G-sharp. And our new black
nodes are sharp, node is a sharp. As you can see.
Someone show you this.
35. BM Scale (Right Hand): In the B major scale, the fingering is different
in the left hand to the right hand is
all the same as what we've done previously
and other skills. But in the left hand is
a little bit different. So I'll show you that when
we get to that point. So for the B major scale, our new black note
is now a sharp. So we had F-sharp,
C-sharp, G-sharp, D-sharp. A new black node is a sharp, which means that we're playing all of the black notes now. Alright, so all
five black nodes. So it goes like this. So feminine, B, second finger,
now, C-sharp, D-sharp. We go to the E. Then second
finger on F-sharp, G-sharp, forefinger on a sharp, and pinky on beat like that and just repeats itself
again one more time. So just know you're paying
all the black ones now. So just think of it like this. All you're playing is
the B and E white note, the rest of black nodes. And, and they're
going backwards. The same way went over. There, you have it. Alright, let's do
that one more time. But with the metronome 123, go more time. There we go. So next up, I'm going to
show you this tanned.
36. BM Scale (Left Hand): So in our left hand,
as I mentioned before, it's a little bit different now. So the fingering goes like this. We start on our fourth
finger for the left hand. The reason why we start
with our fourth finger it, because it helps us to execute
this goal much better. Alright? So it goes like
this for free to one, for finger over 4321, then free to one, then for free. And one to the pinky is not
used at all in this exercise. All right, so in
the B major scale, the little finger
is not used at all. In the left hand. I mean, so let's do that
again in a left hand. So it's 4321, then 4321321, then 432.1. But that Yeah, Then
when we go backwards, it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2 3, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Just like that. So just work on going forward and backwards
with this B major scale, with this new fingering. Then I would like you to
draw me at this point with the metronome 123, go. And again. And that's it. So next up, both hands together.
37. BM Scale (Both Hands): Scale maybe a bit more
trickier in both hands than the previous girls only because the fingering in both your hands are a little bit different. Right? Because there's no pinky and our left hand or more, but in a right hand we're
still using the pinky. Okay. So all the little finger. So to play this makes sure your forefinger on your
farm matched together. Third finger in
your left hand and second thing gotten your
right-hand match together. Second finger in your left hand and third finger in your
right hand mashed together. Firms in both have
matched together. Then the forefinger and second
finger matched together. First together. For a full
finger in the right hand. And second thing got
in the left hand on the beef fat firms altogether. Second thing got in your right hand and first
finger in your left hand. And same as before. All the same. And the little finger and little finger and your right hand and
firming your left hand. Let's do that again.
I'm not going to top It's watch my fingers. After 41234. There you have it. Let's do that one with the
metronome just going forward. 123, go one more time. Then backwards. 123, go 234. So now this go forward and backwards
