overall noise from an image using the noise
reduction slider in this sharpening
or detail panel within the Adobe Camera Raw. If this sounds
interesting to you, then go ahead and
enroll in this course. And I will see you
inside the course.
2. 1 How to use Deatails or Sharpening Panel in Adobe Camera Raw Master Adobe Camera Raw comp f: Welcome to this lecture. In this lecture we'll
be learning all about the Sharpening panel or the Detail panel in
the Adobe Camera Raw. Let's get started. Once we are in the
Basic panel now we can come over here on the Detail panel by clicking
this mountain like icon. Once we are here,
as you can see, the first option we have is off the sharpening and second one
is off the noise reduction. So first of all, we'll take the Sharpening panel. You can see over here we have
the slider for the amount. It determines how
much detail you want. But before we go any further, I would like you to come over here and see an
option over here. It will click this. It's written as
Adobe RGB bit and 16 mega pixel is the
and 240 ppi resolution. And this differs
from image to image. This is my native resolution
of the DSLR camera. And this is the default size, 4928 by 3264, okay? And it might be different for you if you are using
some other camera. If I'll just click
it and you can see this dialog box will open. And from here we can decide
whether we want to walk on the Adobe RGB color mode or different as RGB or
pro photo Arusha RGB. But basically if you are using the Adobe Photoshop
and always ought or Adobe RGB as that gives us the best
result, best result. And next is the depth. And here, from here
we can choose whether we want to work on
eight bit or 16 bit. 16 bit is actually
a very large file. So avoid it, always work on it. And from here we have the option to choose
our resolution. So suppose if you want your image for the
printing purpose, always leave it as default, which is the higher
resolution as for your camera or he or native resolution of the DSLR camera. But if you opt to publish this image only on the web
was no branding purpose, then you can come down all here. You can select to find
eight megapixels on, In three megapixels. Alright? And I will suggest
that you always keep it at the
native resolution, that is, whichever is the
resolution of your camera. Because in future you
may need this file for, even for the printing purpose, all for multiple purposes. And if you have the
highest resolution file, then you can always
come down and always convert to that file
to the web resolution. But if you have the
leveraged solution, it's really hard to
bring in the pixels and make it outfile for
the printing purpose, which requires this
resolution or here of 240 or 300 pixels per inch. But for the lab resolution, it's always the 72 megapixels or 72 resolution
pixels per inch. Alright? So you can choose that and you can decide
if we have also option over here to
decide whether we want to sharp on it for the screen glossy
paper or matter vapor. So it's all for the
re-orienting purpose. Alright, so leave it as it is. And thereafter you want have
one more option that has to choose whether you
want to open in Adobe Photoshop
as Smart Objects. So that means once we
are done with this, I'm editing when will
open this image in Adobe Photoshop that would
be up on as a smart object. Alright? So leave it as it is if
you want and press Okay, so this was basically for
your purpose and let's dive in and told the
sharpening options.
3. 2 how To Use Sharpening Panel In Adobe Camera Raw master Adobe Camera Raw 3 f: So first option, as the
name itself suggests, is the amount of sharpening, that how much
sharpening you want. Before we go any, before we go into the shaft nu or before we apply
any sharpening, it is always
recommended that you assume your images into 100%. Alright, so that way
we would be easily see what sharpening is
doing to our image. As you can see, this amines is really
grainy and very noises since I showed this
image with 400 ISO, because there was a low
light and I don't want to use the flesh too harsh. So this image was
shot with 400 ISO. And if you want to keep the highest quality and
maintain the highest quality, always opt for 100 ISO. And if your camera allows, like in the ethics cameras, which are high-end cameras, they also allow you
to call even low as, as 50 ISO, alright, so always aim for the
lowest possible ISO, any or MAs unless the
situation demands. So in this case, since it was very dark, room on light was not enough. I have to go down to four. I have to increase
my ISO to 400. Alright, That's the result. So we'll take a
look at that also. Alright, so first of
all, as you can see, let me move this amount of
sharpening slider up to 150%. As you can see,
it has sharpened. I amaze a lot, but it has also sharp and lots
of noise and these grains, so it had, it has
made it more intense. So all never go for 150%, always keep it around 50 to 70%. Alright? And this, this also
defends on image to image. Alright? Since it has all his
next option is the radius. So radius is actually determined the area on which
you want to sharpen. If I increase it to l2, L3. And you can see
it has introduced the halo effect to my image are light and this
does not look good. So it is always
recommended that you keep the radius as low as
possible for the people. Alright, but if you are applying the sharpening
on our surface, like the stone texture or
our photo offer landscape, then you can increase
it to up to, I think one or maybe 1.5, but not beyond that. And that also demands
on the mainstream means for the people who wanted to keep it
as low as possible. So I will go for 0.6 or this. Here we have also option
to see the preview. What we have done. It will show us what is default waters before and after we have applied
the sharpening. So if I turn it off, you can see and turn it on. If you are watching in full
acid and you might be able to see the differences where the slightest
difference, alright.
4. 3 how To Use Sharpening Panel In Adobe Camera Raw master Adobe Camera Raw 5 f: Next is our Detail slider. Here. If we want, we can increase
the details too much, but that is not recommended. So always keep it
around or below. Alright, that way
that works better. Next as a masking option. Let me show you what
is masking light now this sharpening is
applied to everywhere. This masking is the GTO present, alright, so there is
no masking at all. Anders sharpening is applied
to the entire image. But actually, if you want to sharpen your
limits professionally, then you need to apply the
masking on your image. So as you can see over here, if I press Alt or Option, if you're using the Mac, and I click and
slide this slider, you can see it will start
showing me the mask, the actual mask which it
is going to create it. The more I'll take it
towards the right side. That is 100%. It is going to contract
the selection. That means it is
going to contract the area from where the
sharpening would be applied. So basically we need to sharp on the assets and that
way our MAs would look good and that would not introduce the noise or
the grain to the image. I always suggest that
you see and decide what area you want to sharpen all which details you want
to keep in the image. I basically how wide the
skin, as you can see, this area of the skin
now has the black color. That means sharpening
would not be applied to wherever
there is a black color. But sharpening would be applied whenever there
is a white color. So this is how the mask
works. Alright, it's simple. And once I do that, let me zoom into 100% and let
me now show you the result. If I drag this masking back. As you can see, all other skin, there's lots of grain and noise. And moment I take it
to us, this site, you can see now the
sharpening has been reduced only on the edges
and that's what we want. And that is the professional way of doing the
sharpening. Alright? So this is how we
sharpen the image and we can check the preview by
turning it on and off. All right. If you feel that you
need more sharpening, then you can increase
it even further. Alright? So this is how we
do the sharpening, alright?
5. 4 how To Use Sharpening Panel In Adobe Camera Raw f: And now next, let's come
to the noise reduction. Alright, let me zoom
in this image 100%, and now we have the
luminance options. So if I increase this slider, you will see it
would start taking away those grains or
noise from the image. So it is most more
visible on the skin. And sometimes it is
also visible over here. As you can see, these grains, these are visible on the
lighter part of the image. Using this slider, we can In reduce that noise
by take it to 100%. As you can see, how smooth
the skin has become mud. This is not what we want to always keep it
under 15 or light, but it also depends on
the Ministry maize. But basically I never go beyond the 30 or eight or beyond 50. So I think this one is good
and let me see the preview. You can see. Next is a luminance detail that how much detail
you want to keep. Next is illuminance contrast
that if you want to remove the noise from the contrast available
in the image, then you can also increase it. And next option
is off the color. If you want to reduce
some color noise, you can do that as well. As you can see. If I drag it back, you can see slightest of color grains are
available or here. And if I increase it, since this amaze
is not that bad. But if you have taken an
image with the high ISO, which is maybe around
1200 or something, then there would be a colourful grains
are colorful noise. And this color noise reduction slider is very helpful
for that purpose. And it is also the
colored details. How much detail do you want to pursue on to preserve
the more details, then you can take it up to 100%. But if we'll take it to 100
person than it is not going to do anything since you are keeping the details as it is. So always keep it around 50%. All right, and this
is how you can do the noise reduction in
the Adobe Camera Raw. Alright, so let
me just zoom out. And this is the
before and after. As you can see, skin has
also become smoother. And this is also one of the way where you can
make the skin smaller. Alright? So this is how the Details panel in the
Adobe Camera Raw box. So thank you so much.
6. Outrow Part 3 master camer raw f: Congratulation, and thank you for coming so far in the course. In part fourth, we are
