1. Introduction: Hey, guys. My name is Dmitri, and this is my second
class about how to remove objects from images
using Adobe Photoshop. Sometimes there's
a need to delete some objects or even
people from your photos, and there are multiple
ways to do that. You'll need an Adobe
Photoshop CS free or newer, and of course, photos you
want to delete objects from. I will attach photos
that I were using in this class so you can
practice and copy the steps. I will show you the
three main ways to delete objects
from any image. So let's begin. Oh
2. Adding Photo: In previous class
about Face Swaps, I didn't explain how to add
photos to Adob Photoshop, so I will do it now. If you're an experienced user, you can skip this topic and
start with the next one. If you're new to Photoshop, you might find this useful. Since I'm working in
Windows platform, I can only show you how
it works on Windows, but I believe that on Mac, the process is pretty
much the same. I would also like to mention
that all the photos I'm using in this class were
downloaded from pexels.com. You can search for images there and download
them for free. So first method
is pretty simple. You can open picture
in Adobe Photoshop by right clicking the image icon
like I'm doing right now. The second method is to run the program and open
image by clicking File, then open and select your
image and press Okay.
3. Method 1: Content Aware Fill: First method that I want to show you is called
content aware fill. It's pretty much the automated
fill of selected area. Adobe has artificial
intelligence that works pretty well and makes
your life much easier, and I want to show
you how it works. Auto fill works well when
there are similar colors in the image like in this
example. So let's begin. The first thing we
need to do is to make a duplicate layer
of the background in case we mess up and to compare the effect to
the original image. Let's first of all,
delete the ball. For that, we need to
select that ball, then press edit and fill. Make sure to select
content aware in the drop down list and
just press or Enter. Now, just press Control D
to D select and that's it. As you can see, it
looks like there was never a ball
there in the sky. And now let's try and remove
this man from the photo. I will select this man and do the same thing I
did with the ball. By the way, you can press Shift backspace to pop
up the fill window. So now, it looks like a black and white
photo of an ocean, and for such a good result, you didn't even have to spend much time deleting
everything manually. There is Adobe's AI for you.
4. Content Aware Fill Example 2: Okay. Let's do
another example of content ware film which might be useful for photographers. Here we have a picture of
buildings and the sky, but there are
unneeded wires and we can definitely remove
them if we want to. Again, let's make
a duplicate layer, select all the unwanted objects and remove them from this photo. As you can see, AI even managed to save the
trail from an airplane. So now let's remove those last two wires
and check the result. In my opinion, the
result looks very cool.
5. Method 2: Clone Stamp Tool: When there are too much
details in the photo, content aware fill isn't the best option for
moving objects, and for those cases, there
is a clone stamp tool. But first, let me show you how Content Aware fill
handles this example. As you can see,
content aware fill isn't the best solution
in some cases. So here we will need to
use Clone Stamp tool. Clone Stamp tool is
also pretty simple, but it requires some
practice. So how it works. You take a sample from some part of the photo by pressing out click and then just paint it over the parts
you want to remove. In our case, we want
to remove this lady, so we sample any part of this brick wall and
paint it over the lady. To get a perfect result, in this case, we would need
to spend some time on it. I will try to do it first
just so you get the idea. As you can see, the result
is far from perfect, but you get the idea where content every field
doesn't solve the problem, there is a clone stem tool. It's a manual work,
but the result can be very good if you invest
that time in it.
6. Method 3: Patch Tool: The last method I want to show
you is called patch tool. Once again, let's make
a duplicate layer. Hot keys for that
are Control plus J. Batch tool works as
a selection tool. All you need to do is to
select an object you want to remove and move it to the
other area of the photo. It works well when background contains similar
colors and objects. Grass in this example is a
perfect area for the Pat tool. Pattol uses AI, so it softens all the
edges automatically, so you don't have
to worry about it.
7. Patch Tool Example 2: Let's do one more example where patch tool
should do a good job. Let's try and remove a
guy in the yellow jacket. Okay, now there are a few
details left to be done. First of all, that sent now looks like it was
stepped on by someone. We can easily fix it. So it looks a bit more natural. Okay. For that, less detail, patch two doesn't do the work, but that's okay
because we already learned about Clone Step
two that can fix it. Once again, it's not perfect, but if you invest just
a bit more time in it, you can make it
better than that. So there's the before and after.
8. Conclusion: Now you know three
different ways to remove objects
from your photos. I will attach photos I
have used in this class, so you can try it
yourself step by step. And also make sure to apploud your results to the
project gallery. I will be more than happy
to see your results and also don't forget to share this class
with your friends. There are so many cool tricks
you can do it in Photoshop. So let me know if
you like this one, and I will create more
classes for you. Bye.
