1. Intro: Hello, everyone, and welcome. My name is ijsing, and I will be your guide as we explore the techniques and tools need to add a glow effect to your projects. Whether you are a big nurse looking to enhance your skills or an experienced designer aiming to add a new dimension to your work. This will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of glow effect. We will start with basics, covering the essential tools and settings in photoshop. Then we will dive into various techniques from simple glow to more complex. Layered effects. Throughout this, I will be sharing tips and tricks to help you achieve professional looking results. By the end of this, you will have the knowledge and confidence to create your own glow effect and apply them to a variety of design projects. So let's get started and light up your design with some amazing glow effect in Photoshop. 2. Selecting the model image: So first of all, what do we need? We need an image in which we will add the Glow effect. Choosing the perfect image for our project is also an art, and every graphic designer needs to master it. So let's find the right image for our project. For this, we will open the browser and here we will search for Pia Perfect. After that, we will open the Pixab website. Now we will search for girl because we need an image of a gir model, holding something in her hand like flower. So there are many images here. Let's find one from this. Perfect. This image looks exactly right for our project requirement. So we will click on this image and from here, we will download this image. 3. Setting Up Your First Photoshop Project: First, we will open protocol. Again. Usually, it takes a bit of time to open. If you want to run Photoshop very smoothly. So you should have at least eight GB of m. It can run with less than that, but you won't get a smooth experience. Perfect. So our Photoshop is now open. Now we will click on new file Air. Great. Now we will select a dimension. I think 1920 by ten AP will be good. Perfect. After this, we will click on Create Perfect. So O sinny blank page in Potosop is now open. 4. Selection and Masking in Photoshop: First, let's get to know some basic things. On the left side. You can see many icons. This is called tool sections, which is very important because we mostly get our tools from here. The second important section is the layers panel at the bottom right. This is also very important. So let's start creating. First, we will bring the image of the model that we downloaded. Perfect. We will place it here like this. After this, we will select the quick selection tool from the tool section because we need to select our model first. We will start from the wooden part that we can see at the top. We will also increase the brush size a bit. Perfect. Now we will slowly select the hand and face as well. This needs to be done very carefully to ensure everything is selected nicely from all sides. So we will carefully select the model, including the hands, and everything else properly. As you can see, our model is now fully selected, and it's looked quite good. The selection is very precise and looks great. Now we will click on the select and mask at the top because we need to refine the edges of our model a bit. Now we will select on white from here, perfect. Then we will select the brush tool and choose the plus icon at the top. And slowly, we will go over the corners where it seems like the selection is not perfect. By holding all to we can remove any unwanted parts. Let's carefully check and adjust the other areas as needed. Just like this. We will also carefully refine the airs because it looks a bit messy air. This is our last chance to fix any mistakes made during the selection. So we can solve them easily. Let's also work on the back side of the hair, where it seems not good and make it look better. Now let's check where else there might be so. It seems like there are some extra parts around the hand that we need too. We will press and carefully remove these areas, especially between the fingers. We have refined the hand very well now. So now we need to check if there's anything else we can fix. It's looked like there are some issues with the s too. Let's carefully refine them. It's not again. We have adjusted one hill properly. So now we will work on other one. Perfect. Both hills are seized, and it's look much better now. Next, let's also refine the hair in this area. It needs some adjustment as well. We need to select the hair very carefully and make sure the background is not selected. Now let's review everything to see if any other corrections are needed. Well, go to the view, click on layers and refine this hair that we see. Perfect. Our model looks very well selected now. After this, we will check the box at the bottom and choose the new layer with the layer mask. Finally, we will click on. Perfect. 5. Targeted Object Selection and Masking: Now we will go to the layers panel and make the background layer visible. Now we need to make this wooden hat selected. To do this, we will choose the quick selection tool from the tool section. We will do this carefully, especially around the fingers. We need to be extra precise. Grey. We have selected it. 6. Adding a Glow Effect to Objects: Now we will go to the layer section and press control plus J to duplicate it. Perfect, we have made a copy of this. Now we want the background to be a bit darker. So I look like night. That way the glow effect will really stand out. To do this, we will select the background layer. Right click it and choose color look. Great. Then from the absence, we will select a moonlight. This looks really nice, just like nighttime. Next, we will right click again. And this time we will select black and white. After that, we will adjust the opacity to around 30%. Perfect. After that, we will select this layer and we will press Control G to group it. We will I think target. Target will be the good name for it. After that, we will right click on this layer and choose convert to a smart object. Great. Then we will make a copy of this layer. Perfect. Next, we will select the blend mode of this copied layer to lighten. Nice. Finally, we will click on Filter, then Blur and choose Gacian Bl. We will set the blur to five. Again. That looks great. Now we will make another copy of this layer. For the layer below that we set to lighten, We considered changing it to screen. But it became too bright, so we will keep it as lightened. Great. Then we will open the Gaussian blur for the top layer and increase it to 50. Perfect. Next, we will make another copy of this layer. We will open the Gaussian blur for this new layer and set it to one fit. Then click Ok to apply the changes. After that, we will make one more copy of this layer. We will open the Gaussian bar for this layer and set it to around 300, and then click Ok to apply changes. Finally, we will make one more copy of this layer. We will open the Gaussian er for this layer and set it to around 500. And click to apply the changes. Great. You can see that we have a nice glow effect now. However, there is still more work to be done on it. Next, we will select this group and right click and choose saturation. Then we will check to colorize. You can see that everything has turned green. Since we only want it to affect the wooden heat, we will click here. Great. Now only the wooden head is green. We will select the color from here. You can choose any color you like. But now I will choose green and adjust it a bit. A 7. Glow Effect Reflections on Models: Now, we will select this layer, and we will right click here and choose curbs. We will darken it a bit. But whole image is getting dark. We only want the model to be dark. So we will click Hair perfect. Now we will darken the model a bit more. Perfect. This looks pretty good. Now we will select this curve layer from the layer section. After that, we will choose the breast tool from the tool section. Then we will select the black color. We will set its opacity 200. The flow to around 27 and the smoothing 212. Next, we will make the brush sight small and start brushing gently on the face. And we need to do the breast very carefully. We have to use the breast only where there is possibility of light falling. In simple language, we are simulating the light. O Perfect. So we have done the breast work. Now we will go to the layer section, make another copy of this layer and move it and place it below the group. After that, we will click on this icon so that it effect is only on the layer below it. After that, we will click on this layer and invert it by pressing control plus. After that, we will choose the white color from here, then we will choose the breast. Now the opacity will be 69, flow will be 27, and smoothing will be 12. After that, we will use the brush carefully. Remember, we need to use the brush only where there is a possibility of light falling. We are simulating light as I'm doing. I that again, T. I said again. O. O I said again, T. G. We have completed the breast. It took quite some time. 8. Adding Shadows and Ground Reflections: Next, we will create the reflection of this green light. For this, we will create a new layer above the background layer. And we will name it ground reflection. After that, we will select the brush, increase its opacity a bit and adjust to the brush. Again. Then we will start brushing on the ground as I'm doing. D. So our reflection work is done. Now we will create the shadow for the model. To do this, we will go to the layer section, create another layer, and we will name it shadow. Perfect. Then we will choose the brush and select the black color. After that, we will set its opacity to 100%. And we will draw the shadow. You need to do this very carefully just like I'm doing. We will also adjust to the obesity in between. Perfect. The shadow work is now completed. 9. Finalizing Your Photoshop Project: Now we will bring a new image of stars. We will set this image to screen mode. After that, we will adjust this image around the wooden heat and increase its size. And then we will mask it. Finally, we will press control plus I to invert it. After that, we will choose the brush and select the white color, then we will adjust the opacity and smoothing. And also tweak the flow. After that, we will use the brush the entire heat. Great. We have completed the breast work around the head. Now we will open the levels and adjust them a bit. Perfect. It looks much better now. After that, we will also adjust to the brightness and contrast. It looks good now. By the way, let me tell you that creativity is a very big thing. With creativity, you can create many things. For example, today, you have learned how to use the glow effect in Photoshop. You can apply this effect in various ways and create something unique. Let me show you some examples like this elephant image. I applied the glow effect to the elephant's teeth, and here in the deer image, I applied the glow effect to its horns. This is how you should showcase your creativity. Okay. Now we will open the color lookup and choose a good effect from here. This light blue effect is also looks quite nice. You can choose any effect you like. This image is now complete, so we will export it. I hope you have learned a lot from it.
