getting started, I want you to know a
few more things about this course so that everything
goes nice and smoothly. So in this course, after governing every
selection tool or technique, you will be either having
task or activities. And basically in the activities we will be working together. So I will show you
the approach to take to this shouldn't solution. And in that task videos, you will be assigned with
some walk and you have to do that work by yourself
and somebody else, ADA in the comment section. And you can also message me on my Instagram or
Facebook handle. The links will be provided and that file attached
to this lecture. And also this course
is best suited well for those who already
know about the layers, panel, Brush Tool, Move tool
and some of his shortcuts. So if you know then then
it is well and good. And if you don't,
then please watch my free tutorials available
on my YouTube channel. And you can also subscribe for more free videos
on Photoshop. And with all that said, let's get started
in this course.
3. Selections and Layer MAsk Explained: All right, So first of all, thank you everyone for
signing up and discourse. So in this first section, we are only going to talk about the basic selection tools. We will start with the Marquee
Tool and the Lasso tools. And these tools are little
very difficult to learn. And I'm saying this because
of their confusing hotkeys and you will know them as we
move to the selection tools. After that, we will move to the artificial intelligence
selection tools like the object selection, Quick Selection, and
a magic one tool. In the next section
we're going to look at some more
advanced selection tool. But before getting into
the wall of selections, Let's first understand why
selections are used and what our selections are also at
our layer mask in Photoshop. So selection is basically an area which you
define in your Canvas. And that area is going to
be subject for your edits. So for example, let me grab my Marquee tool and
let's make a selection, rectangular selection
around this image. So the selected area, this rectangular
box, you can see my canvas is known as
objects of my editor. So everything that
I'm going to apply to this image is only going to
be limited inside this box. And if you zoom in, you can see this dotted lines, black and white lines. So these lines are actually
called matching ends. And everything that is inside
these marching ends are the selected areas or the
subject for your edits. So to show you how
this selection works, let me switch to my brush
tool and let's try to paint. But black as the foreground
color in this background. Yes. So you can see that
I'm painting with black as the foreground
color and nothing is visible in my Canvas yet because on my subject
of adjectives, only inside this area. And now look what
happens if I just try to paint or what
the selected area. So see, my brush strokes
are now visible. And this is because only
the selected area or the walkable area is this rectangular area
which is in my Canvas. So this is a basic walk of selection and there are numerous use cases
for selections. You can use it
retouching photos, you can use it in compositing. You can use it for
removing backgrounds. You can use it in
graphic designing, web design things and
a lot more to discuss, but this is not the
topic for this video, so let me just undo everything. So simply press F2 L to
revert to its original state. And before getting into
the concept of layer mask, I need to explain you a little
bit more about selection. So let me just switch
to my marquee tool. And in the Options bar you can see an option of Federal Hill. So this feather is basically used to blur out the
edges for the selection. So if I just try to
make a selection, let me just make
a selection here with feathers as 0 pixels. And if I just try to fill this selection with black
as the foreground color. So to fill it, you can simply use
your hotkey control backspace to fill it with photo background color or oil wx space to fill it
with the foreground color. And if you want to fill it with the sum of the manual colors, then you can simply
change your foreground or background color or else you can simply right-click and choose the fill option here. And after that you can
choose any color you want. But I'm not going to do that. He also, this is that results. So let me just deselect this end to de-select
your selection by your de-selecting
because you want to walk on other areas
of the image. So if you don't deselect
your selection, you'll walk is only going
to millimeter to this area. So press Control or Command D to de-select or else you can go to select and choose this
option of B select. And there are also numerous other shortcuts available here. So if you want to
learn them all, memorized them, you
can also do that. So here's that result, that feather set as 0
pixels and you can see how sharp this pixels are or
how sharp this edges are. So let me just try to now increasement for
that to about 20 pixels. And let's make
another selection. So this simply click and
drag and make a selection. And let's fill it with black as the foreground color
to press and hold the Alt or Option key and click Backspace or Delete if
you are using a Mac. So let me just again
deselect by pressing Control or Command
D. See that it's edited with feathers
had Tez 20 pixels. So you can see that
these edges now has motor transitions and
there are blurred out. So this is the walk off. And we will walk with federal, especially when we are going to talk about the
selected mask window, we are going to refine
our selections. And yeah, that's
all about feather. Now there are 23 more
things that I need to tell you before moving
to the layer mask. So let me just undo
a several times and so that this selection
activity right-click, then you can see a
numerous option. And we have already seen
this de-select option. After that you have the
options or select inverse. So if you want to
invert your selection, and if you're going
to select everything except this rectangular area, then you can just simply hit the Select Inverse option and
now everything is selected. Accept this
rectangular area also. You can go to select and
choose Inverse option here, or you can pass its hotkeys Control Shift I or
Command Shift I. If you are using a Mac. After that, you
have the options of selected mask that we have already seen and
Select and Mask, although we will cover in the next section of this course, after that data the
options of self-selection. So suppose you are walking
on a large project and you need a particular selection again and again
for some purposes. You can simply see
your selection. You can name it
anything you want. And after that, you
can simply load it by going to this
select option, but that's not the
score for this video. We will learn it
I'm bit more later, especially if you are
following me on YouTube, then you can see this
Save Selection concept in that content
aware scale video. So if you want to know more about this Save
Selection option, then you can go to that video. Now after that, we have the options of Leo
via cut and Layer, Via Copy and new layer. So these options are
basically going to create a new layer based
on the selected area. So the first option here is
going to create new LEA. So this is going to copy the selected area
to your new layer. So you can do it without right-clicking and
choosing this option of Layer via Copy. And you, all you have
to do is you have to simply make your selection
out and after that, select dahlia which you are
working with and simply press Control or Command J and a
new layer will be created. So if I just hide this layer, then you can see
that this area is, I'll just copy it
to your new layer. Now let me just unhide it again and let's delete this layer. Also. Let's load our selection again. So go to Select. You don't have the options of the slack because I have
just deleted this layer. So let me just again make my selection simply click and
drag to make the selection. Now let's right-click. After that you have the
options of layer via cut. So if you want to remove that particular area
from the image, for example, suppose, let
me just deselect it again. Suppose I want to remove this particular area
from this layer, and I don't want this area
to be present in this layer. So I can just n-bit I click, and then I can
just simply select this option of layer via cut. And now you can see a new
layer is created in my Canvas. So if I just hide this layer, then you can see
the empty pixels of white background
in this area. So it has just moved this area portion of
the image from my, from my background layer and just copied it to one new layer. Now let's again
make our selection. And these are very important
thing that you should know till you have the options of Free Transform and
Transform Selection. So let's first look at
their transform selection. I have seen most of
the people confuse between that transform
selection and a free transform. So the transform
selection is going to transform the selection
or the selectivity. And the three
transform option is going to transform
that selected area. So where does I mean
by this is let's hit this Transform selection. And now I can
disinhibit transform the selection to any
shape or any size I want. I can simply right-click again
and choose these options of Scale Rotate, Skew, Distort. And if you are already familiar with this transform options, then you already know
what I'm talking about. And if you don't,
then please watch my free tutorial video available on Free Transform on
my YouTube channel. After that, Let's hit Enter. So we are just
transformed our selection and we have increased the
area of the selection. Now you have the options
of Fourier transforms. So before talking about
the Free Transform, let me just create a copy
of my background layer so that I can show you that
before it enough to results. So press Control or Command G to create a copy of the
background layer. Now that we have an active, let's go to Select
Deselect again. So this is my selected area. And after that right-click
and choose Free Transform, then now let me just increase the size of the selected area to a significant amount so that
you can see the results. So let's hit Enter here, and let's just deselect. So this is the result. Can you look at these areas? These areas are no
increase in its size. So the selected area, I have just increased the
size of the selected area. And if you're still
not getting it, let me just reselect
it again and let's paint it with some colors. So using my brush tool, let's being on black as the foreground color
in these corners. And look what happens if I just tried to transform my selection. That is free transform
my selection. So, so if you want
to right-click and see those options that
we have seen just now, then you need to be on any
of your selection tool. So switch TO marquee tool by pressing N. And now
let's right-click. And by the way, you can
also use the hotkey, that is Control or Command T
to use the free transform. And let's increase the
size of the selection. So can you see the blacks moving toward other sites and
increasing in size? So this is that selected area which is getting
increased in size. So This is the work of
the three transform. And first thing that
we have seen is the bulk of the
transform selection. So if you want to transform
your selection and if you want to nudge it with
some of your subjects, then you can use the
transform selection. And if you want to increase or decrease the size of
the selected area, and if you want to
just simply play with these options of skill or distort and changing
the perspective, then you can work with
the Free Transform. So now let me just move to
the concept of Layer Mask. And first of all, let's select this model. Yes, so that my object
selection tool active, I can simply click on the
Select Subject option. And, and Photoshop has made this selection
for me automatically. And now I can use the
option of layer mask. So if you look at the bottom
right side of Photoshop, then you have a cam Reich India, and this option says
Add layer mask. So if you click it, then you are going to add a layer
mask to your layer. So let me just switch to a different viewing mode so that I can show
you what happened. They also present
on the older option key and click on the layer mask. So in this view mode, everything that is invited, the selected area and
everything that isn't black is the area that I haven't selected in my Canvas or in my list. So using the Layer Mask, I had just mask out
the area that I haven't selected in my LEA and the only area that is
visible it currently is the area that I have selected using the select
subject feature. So let me just again switch
to my normal view mode. And now I can just simply take the selection or take this layer and put on some
other background. So I can just simply
change the background. And this is all what we are
going to do in this course. We are going to see how
to remove backgrounds, how to change background, how to perfectly select those objects and
all of those steps. And we are going to learn some more selection tools
and the advanced ones. And they are going to look at some more use cases
for the selections. And with all that said, let's move to the next video.
4. Activity layer mask and brush tool1: Hello my friends. It's time to get
active and practice the things that we have
learned previously. So in this activity, I want you to walk along
with me and we are going to practice the Layer
Mask and the brush tool. So you have this two images
are attached to this lecture, so please go ahead
and download them. And what I'm going to
do with them is I'm going to just use
my layer mask and the brush tool and
I'm going to replace the sky of this
image with this guy. So, so let's begin. Okay, the first thing
that I'm going to do here is I'm going to just
select this whole image by pressing Control E.
And then I'm going to copy this image by pressing
Control or Command Z. And I'm going to move to this image and we
will paste it here. So to paste it, simply press Control
or Command V. Now, we need to resize this image because it doesn't fit
completely with this one. So hit Control or Command D to enter the transform controls. And after that, just
simply resize it. Give me a moment so
that I can resize it. And let's hit Endo. And let's a local
background layer. And let's place this Leo
been behind this layer 0. Number 2 we are going to do is we're going to select
our layer been. We are going to
create an empty mask. So we haven't mask
anything from this lil. But now we are going to
Moscow sky so that we can be able to see our background sky. So to do it to simply select your layer mask
and not the layer. And with your brush
tool selected, and remember the shortcut to select the brush
tool, yes, it's B. And to remove it, but
we have to do we have to paint it with a black
color as the foreground. So let's set black as
the foreground color. And let's reduce the
size of the brush. And let's keep pretend 100 percent hardness
because first we are going to cover dot top side and this bottom one is
going to take some time. So let's do it with the top side first and just being taught it. But here while painting, don't try to go too
close to the mountains. So I think that this is enough. And now we need to zoom in and we need to reduce
the size of our brush. And it is a very good
activity via unit to constantly increase and decrease the size of your brush, you need to change
the hardness of your brush as well as the
flow of your brush tool. I'm just setting my flow to about 50 percent
and a 100 percent. We'll also walk in this case because I can just reduce
the size of members. And let's see. We have to just click Hill. Let's finish this layer first. You just need to make some
clicks using your brush tool, and that will be okay. So let's just quickly do it. And by the way, if you just accidentally paint
on your mountain, then you know what
do you have to do? Yes, Unit 2 set to white
edge of foreground color and it will just add to your selection and you will
get your mountain bike. So let's switch between
the foreground and the background color and the
black as the foreground. Let's again start painting. So now we need to decrease
the size of our brush. And we need to also
decrease the hardness of your brush because
this edge is not hard, so we need to set
it to about 20 ish. And also I'm going to decrease
my flow to about 5650. And let's just simply
paint over it. Let's zoom in a bit more. And let's paint. I think that I need to
increase my flow a bit more. So let's set it to a piece. And let's see if this works. Yeah, this looks great. And you need to make sure that your edges look
perfect in this case. And I'm going a bit fast because I need to make
this video for you guys. And if you guys know any
other selection method, then please don't use
it because you need to practice your brush
skills and the layer mask. So you can remember
these things. And I'm just going to reduce
the hardness in this area. And let's decrease
the size as well. So let's simply here, I will highly suggest you to
not do something like this. Because if you do
something like this, and if you just accidentally
go inside this election, then it will, then it
will spoil everything. And if you just press
Control or Command Z, then it will remove everything. But you might be thinking
that you can use your History Brush
Tool to fix it. But let me show
you a thing here. If you just redo it and
redo anything in Photoshop, you have to just simply
press Control Shift, Alt Command Shift, zag. After that, if you just simply select your History Brush Tool, then see you can
here see this fall, but then I can blows History Brush Tool is not
going to work on Layer Mask. And even if you
select this layer, then this is not going to walk. So you have to select this underlying layer
which you want to remove. And after there, if
you're just paint with your History Brush Tool, then you will be
able to remove it. So this is the thing that
you need to remember that History Brush Tool
is not going to walk with the layer mask
and walking with it on Leo mask might get
tricky in some cases. So try to avoid it. Now let me just quickly finish
the rest of the things. And so here is that
is all that I got using my brush tool
and the Layer Mask. And I think that all of
you might be able to complete it and it's not
going to be dead heart. So I want you to complete it and I want you to make sure that
your edges look perfect. And I haven't didn't it
in this case because I think that you can do it and let's see how you
perform in this task. And don't forget to share MY of walk on Instagram, facebook, or also in the comment
section has been, and I will catch you
in the next video.
5. Rectangular Marquee Tool: All right, So let's start
our selection Geneva, the most fundamental
selection tool of Photoshop, that is the marquee tool. So to activate the
selection tool, simply press it's hotkey M or else you can select it
from this toolbar section. It is just below the Move tool. And if you're like,
You go ahead. There are four tools available. And among them, the
Rectangular Marquee and the Elliptical Marquee Tools
are the only your soil. And in this video,
we're going to talk about the rectangular
marquee tool first. So let's get going with it. Okay, so in this amazing, Let's suppose you want
to select this gray box or using the rectangular
marquee tool. So first, you have to
decide up point from there, you have to start the selection. And let's suppose
I have decided to start my selection from
this top left section. After that, you'll
have to just simply click and click and drag
to make your selection. I'm taking my mouse cursor towards downward
direction so that I can increase the size of my marching into that is
the size of my selection. And now you can see that
I have just selected this grayish box using that active when the
marquee tool also, let me just be select by
pressing Control or Command D, and let's do it again. So you have to
select your point, you have to click and
drag to make a selection. And you can increase
and decrease the size of the selection
using your mouse call. So let's suppose you have
an release your mouse click yet and you want to tease the position of this
rectangular selection. So what you can do is you can simply hold your space bucky. And by holding your space bucky and along with your mouse-click, simply take it to any other position you
where you want to place it. So let's suppose I
want to place it here. So I can just simply place my
rectangular selection here. And I can simply
release my space bucky now and now
identity is the size of the selection according to this rectangular box and
make a selection overhead. So these are the
two basic things about the rectangular
marquee tool. Now let's look at the
options bar over here. So in this options while we are walking with a new
selection mode. So every time you click and
drag and make a selection, and let's suppose you again
want to make a selection, then your previous
selection will be gone. This is because we are working
on the new selection mode. And let's suppose you want to add something
to your selection. So let me just again make a selection or this
gray box over here. And let's suppose I want to add these two grace walks
also into my selection. So what I had to do it,
I can simply change my selection mode from new
selection to add to selection. And after that, I can simply
select these greece walks. Also. You can see after
making the selection, my previous election is still there and it
is still visible. Let's add this grayish box
also to our selection. And this is the use of add
to the selection option. And let's suppose you only want to walk with this
grayish box here. So what you can do is
you can simply create a mask and this mask
icon over here. And you are only
going to work with this grayish boxes or else what you can do is
you can simply just, let me just delete
this layer mask and in order to delete it, and good at Hugo here, and choose the literally a mask. After that, let's select. So go to Select and you have the option of reselect
or else you can use the hotkey that
is Control Shift T or Command Shift D. If
you are using a Mac and you can simply select the layer which you are
walking in and simply press the hotkey control J or Command J to copy
it to a new layer. And if you just, and if I
just hide this layer 0, then you can see that
I have just copied these three gray boxes
in a separate layer. Now there is a
hotkey available to use this Add to
selection option. So let me just first switch
to the new selection mode. And if you just press and hold your Shift key and
make a selection. But before that, let's make
some selection over here. After that, if we
just press and hold the Shift key and make
another selection, then you can clearly see
that I'm adding something to my selection might
previous election is still in debt over here, and my new selection
is also present. So using Let's Shift key, you can add something
to your selection. And let me just deselect. This is the work of
add to selection. Now let's move to the subtract
from selection option. And let's suppose I wanted to select this rectangular
frame over here, not this rectangular
box complete. So what I can do here is I can first switch to a
new selection mode, and I can simply select this
bigger rectangle first. Let's make a
selection over here. And what I have to do to remove this bluish
washing is I have to select this smaller rectangle and I have to remove
it from the selection. So let's switch to
this that remove from the selection option. And you can see
this minus symbol along with the
Marquee Tool icon. And this means that
we are currently working with subject
to selection option. And if I just switch to this
add to selection option, then there is a plus
symbol along with this, I can mark it to
like an overhead. So let's again switch to the either move from
the selection option, and let's select this
smaller rectangle. So by removing this mushy
area from the selection, we have this successfully. Selected this rectangular frame. And if I just hit
Done Mask icon, then you can see that only this rectangular frame is selected and it will just undo. And let's de-select it. The last option it is. But before we enter
the last option R, Let's see the hotkey for this removed from that
selection options. So you can switch to the new selection option and
you can make a selection. And let's suppose you want to remove something
from the selection. And then even simply press
and hold Alt or Option key and simply see that minus m
will add it to the cursor. And now you can simply click and drag to make a selection and Yuan novel removing something
from the selection like so. Like this, you can clearly see, I am removing this much area from the selection over here. So this is the work of that
removed from selection. Now let's deselect
everything and knowledge. Again, make another selection. And the last option or heard is intersect from the selection. So this option is
basically going to intersect the EDR
between two selection. So what I mean by this is, let's make a
selection over here. And what booting what does that intersection area
between these two selection? Yeah, you guessed it. This is the intersection between
those two sections that are just made. And this is the work of the Intersect
Trump's election and its hotkeys are all
along with the shift. So if you just switch
to a new selection and let me just make a new
selection over here. And again, if you press and hold Alt or Option key
along with the Shift key, then you can just simply use the intersect on the
selection option. And let me just deselect. Now there are three more things about this rectangular
marquee tool, and we will finish this
lecture after that. So let suppose you want to make a square selection using the
rectangular marquee tool. And then you can simply do
it using the mouse click and your mouse and simply
adjust the site. But the better way to
do this is liquid. This is de-selected and
simply press and hold your Shift key and then click and drag
to make a selection. Then see, yet that
aspect to the issue of your selection is going to be limited to one is
to one that is, the width and height are
all going to be equal. And you can also see the width and the
height of values in this small rectangular box
above discuss over here. So this can also
help you to make pixel-perfect selections using the rectangular
marquee tool. And you do need to confuse your cell with the
Shift key that we use to add something to the
selection and the Shift key, the use of creating
perfect square selection. So if you want to add
something to your selection, then you simply press and hold the Shift key and
make a selection. Then it is going to add
something to the selection. And if you want to
transform your selection to a perfect square shape
and you can simply press and hold your Shift key and click and drag to make
R-square selection. Also, Let's make a selection. But this time I'm
not holding any of the shift key or the Alt key, and this is my free
hand selection. And let's suppose I want
to grow this selection, maintaining its aspect
ratio from all the sides. So what I can do is I can
simply press and hold my oil along with
that Shift key. And now if I just resize it, then see it is growing from
all the sides equally. So this is the way
using which you can grow or decrease the
size of your selection, maintaining its aspect ratio. And apart from this, we have already talked about the Feather option and
the previous lecture. And the last thing here is the style auction that is by
default set it to normal. And if you just said
did to fix size, then now you can simply input of fixed size
marquee tool selection. That is, if I just
click and drag, then I can create a selection
whose width is going to be 64 pixels and the
height is going to be 64 pixels as when. Let me just deselect again and let's add some custom value. Let's suppose 1000 pixels and 100 bucks US
as high as well. So let's hit Enter. Let's simply just click
ones in your Canvas. And it is going to make our fixed size selection whose width and height is
going to be 1000 pixels. So this is the walkout
of fixed size. And we have already seen
that fixed aspect ratio. For the fixed aspect ratio, by default, it is set
to one inch to one. That is, we are going to make a square or
rectangular selection. And we already know how to make a square selection without
using this feature. So if we wanted to
make some selection whose aspect ratio is
something like 16 is 2, 9, or 9 is 2, 16, then you can use
this option as well. But I like to keep
it at normal and use my free hand to
make any selection. And with that being said, this is it for this video, I will see you in the
next video we are going to learn the
Elliptical Marquee Tool.
6. Elliptical Marquee Tool: All right, next up, let's look at the Elliptical Marquee Tool. So being on the
rectangular marquee tool, you can use the hotkey
Shift along with the M key to switch to that
Elliptical Marquee Tool. Or you can simply
right-click or whether marquee tool and select the
Elliptical Marquee Tool. Now this option buyer
is quite similar to the rectangular marquee tool we have seen in that
previous video. By default, our
selection mode is set to new selection and you can change it to add to selection
or subtract from selection, intersect
from selection. And you can also use the hotkeys Shift key
for Add to Selection, OLTP, or subtract from
selection and shift along with the old key for
intersect from the selection. Not only change here is
the anti-aliasing option. And this anti-aliasing
option is going to smoothen the edges
of the selection. So let's keep it. I don't know where you are selecting something using
the Elliptical Marquee Tool. Now in this image we
are going to select this circular saying God using the Elliptical
Marquee Tool. And we're going to do it
in two different ways. The first way is more
sort of people confuse between how to start off from
via to start the selection. My advice, simply
click and drag. And by the way, if
you click and drag, you're going to make our random elliptical
or circular selection. Selection can be so color
or it can be elliptical. It is at random
freehand selection. But while clicking and dragging, if you hold your Shift key, then it is going to
transform the selection to a circular shape so that
when the select here, and let's start
from the beginning. So what we're going to do
is I'm going to simply make a random freehand
selection by simply clicking and dragging
and after that. But I'm going to
do is I'm going to simply use my space, bucky, two teams the position
of this selection, and I'm going to notice this selection to
one of the sites. And after that, I
can just simply increase the size
of my selection. And again, I can press a little DSPs Bucky
and I can again replace it and released us
these Bucky after that. And I can do this until I'm
happy with my selection. And as you can see, I have selected this same board using the Elliptical
Marquee Tool. So this is the Wendy of using the Elliptical
Marquee Tool. The next one Here it is. Let me first de-select and let's make a
circular selection. So the other way to make the surplus selection
is you just first add your shift key and
then click and drag that. It is automatically going to transform your selection
to a circular oven. I have seen many people
confuse between these hotkeys. So let me just tell
you one more time. If you first add your shift key and
then make a selection, then your selection is going
to be a circular selection. But after making one selection, and if you wanted to, again
make ossicular selection, and if you add your shift key first and then make a selection, then you can see that this is adding something
to the selection. The other matter to
make a selection. So color is you first click and drag and make a
random selection. And if you wanted to transform the selection to
a circular shape, but you can do is
you can simply press the Shift key and it is automatically going to
transform to a circular shape. And after that,
you have to first release your mouse click and then release the Shift key so that it remains in the
circular position. But what happens if you
release the Shift key first before releasing
the mouse click? So if I just simply release
my shift key first, then see my so-called selection has taken its original shape. So you have to remember
that you have to first add at least a mouse-click
and then the Shift key so that the shape of the circular selection
remains intact. And by the way, if
you want to make a note of it, you
can also do it. And I'm going to also do two tasks based on
the elliptical and the rectangular marquee tool
so that you can remember these hotkeys for
lifetime, right? The next method is
let me just make a circular random selection. So I'm just simply pressing
and holding my Shift key and I'm clicking and
dragging to make a circular selection now, but I have to do is
I have to announce this hopeless selection to
fit it with the sign board. So what I can do is I
can simply click inside it and I can choose the option
of transform selection. Now I can simply transform my selection to
any shape like so. And I can reposition it or
replace it like this method. And I can also use my arrow keys to perfectly
legitimate sites. And once I'm happy
with the results, I can simply press Enter. So this is the Adobe
for selection. Now at last, let's
suppose you want to select some semicircular
arc quarter circular shape. Then what you can do is I let me just make a
circular selection and we have to remove or
half circle part from it. So what we can do is
we can simply go to our rectangular marquee tool by pressing the hotkey Shift N. And after that we can use the subtract from
the selection options. So I can then hold Alt or Option key and you can see a minus symbol along
with the course. So and then I can
subtract the area, this much area from
the selection. And I can simply press
and hold my spacebar to reposition this
rectangular selection. And I think that I will
be happy with this much. So you can see I have just
selected a semicircular shape. And again, I can also remove another quarter,
so-called from here. And I can select a
quarter circular shape using the electrical and the
rectangular marquee tool. And based on these two concepts, we are going to do to
task we used on the elliptical and the
rectangular marquee tool. So see you there.
7. Marquee Tool Task: All right, it's time to get active and practice that thinks that we have learned in
that previous video games. So you have this PSD
attest to this lecture. And what I want you to do is
I want you to select all of these shapes using your elliptical and the
rectangular marquee tool. And let me show you by selecting one of
these elliptical shapes. So let's move to our
Elliptical Marquee Tool and let me just make a selection around
this elliptical shape. Once this is done,
make sure you have selected them Maki tool, task, and simply press Control or
Command J to create a copy of the selected area and simply move this layer
to our layer one. And this unhide the layer 1. I mean, just make this layer invisible
so that you can see the selection properly
and make sure you don't get any other background color
in your selection. And if you are getting
the background color, then my friend, you have
to define your selection. You have to redo your selection again and let me show you
what I'm talking about. So let me just quickly switch
again to my marquee tool. And let me just make a
random selection and Nia, let me just copy it
and let's move it up the Layer 2 and enable the
visibility of the layer one. So you can see the
blue bag grown here. And I don't want any of
the blue bed clone to be visible in the
selected areas, right? So this is the work
that you have to do and for all of the shapes, so you have to do
the same thing. And then the last shape also. But I want you to
do is I want you to only select this
reddish don't shape. I don't want you to select the portion that is the
bluish portion here. So this is going to be a bit challenging for you
guys and let's see how you perform it and
make sure you only use the rectangular and the
Elliptical Marquee Julia. No cheating is allowed, right? Also, I am going to show you the solution for this
task and the next video. And I'm going to attach this Maki dual task as an
assignment in this course. And you have to do
the similar thing with this task as well. And you have to select
both shapes properly. Make sure this inner
portion is also included in your
selection and you have to just simply remove the
background and replace the background with any other background color
off your choice. Okay, So this is the task. Let's see how you perform it. Just pause the video here,
open your Photoshop, download these two images
and start walking.
8. Marquee Tool Task Solution: Welcome back. I hope that all
of you might have performed well in this task. And I think that
all of you might be able to select this
yellow ellipse, this orange circle,
and the shape as well. But I think that these folks
might be challenging for you and some of you might not be able to select them properly. So, so in this video, Let's see their
solutions one by one. Now, I'm going to
start with this one. So select this layer. And let's grab our marquee tool, and let's change it into
Elliptical Marquee Tool. And after that, what
I'm going to do is I'm just going to make a selection and hold my
shift key and space bucky, I'm just going to reposition it. So then I can make it with the one side of the semicircle. And after that, and after that I will release
my space bucky, and I will increase
this selection from the other side and I will match it with the
other side has been. And let's measure whether
TO peptide has been. So hold your space bucky, and let's move it upward. And this looks fine for me. So first, release your mouse
click, and after that, it relieves your space-bar, and after that, release
your shift key. And this looks perfect
now, but we have to do, we have to switch back to our rectangular marquee tool and by holding your
Alter Option key, Let's remove this portion
of your selection. So I'm just going to
remove this much and let me just zoom it so that we can perfectly remove
the rest of them. So let's just simply hold the
altar Option key and NDS. That's look fine for me. So just simply press Control or Command G. And let's move it
above this layer one. And let's see how we perform and we did a pretty
good job here. So let's hide this layer. Again, select our
Marquee Tool task Leo. And this one is going to
be quite challenging. So we're again going to switch back to our
Elliptical Marquee Tool. And after that, hold your
shift key and then make a selection and
hold space bucky. And let's try to snap it with some side of this
semicircular shape. And we are first going to
select this bigger semicircle. And after that, we will
select the smaller ones. So I think that I have just
almost did this thing. I have to just increase
from this right-hand side. And let's first release
your mouse-click, and let's release my spacewalk. And I think that I need to move my selection a bit upwards. So let's do it with
our arrow keys. And remember one thing
that whenever you want to make slight
adjustment in pixels, then you always have
to use your up, down and right and
left arrow keys. And you add that
stroke fine for me. And now we need to remove
this smaller semi-circle. So what we are going
to do is we are just going to press and hold
Alt or Option key. But in this case, I'm
going to just select this removed from selection or
the subtract from selection, because I have to also hold my Shift key as well
as my space bucky. And holding three keys at a time is bit difficult
for some of you, and it's also difficult
for me as well. So just going to select it. And after that, just simply make selection and press and
hold the Shift key. And let's press our space bucky to move it and let it snap
it to left-hand side. And after that, let's
increase our selection. Let's again hit our space bucky. And we have snapped it
to the left-hand side. Now we need to do now we need to reduce the size or if it's
from the right-hand side. So let's release
our space bucky. And let's reduce its size
from right-hand side, and we are done with it. Okay, so we have done
about 80% of this joke. Now we have to just
use our Marquee Tool to remove this lower
portion from our selection. So let's select our, so let's select
our Marquee Tool. And let me just zoom in a bit. And we need to remove
from our selection. So don't forget to press
and hold Alt or Option key. And just simply make a selection
here and it will remove, and it doesn't
look great for me. So let me just zoom out and let's hit
Control or Command J. And let's see how we
did in this case. So let's see and the aggregate up pretty
good job as well here. So this one is done. So 2w1 and two remaining. Now this one is comparatively easier than this and this one. So, so here we have
to just make us so Kula selection and add a rectangular selection
after making it. And you can also do it
in the reverse order. So let's move to our
Elliptical Marquee Tool again. And let's switch back
to our new selection. And after that,
hold your shift key and make us so cooler selection. And let's hold our
space walkie and try to snap it with one of the sites
of this circular shape. And after that, We need to just
simply enlarge it from the other side by
releasing our space, bucky. So let's see. By the way, if you are facing problem by holding
the Shift key, then you can also release
your Shift key if you want. So I have just released
my Shift key because it is causing trouble
in this case. So I had just to
release it and I have just press and hold my space bucky to snap it
with that top hand side. And now I will release
my space bucky. And now I will fitted
with the bottom sites. So let's do this. And this looks good. So let's release
our mouse-click. And after that,
Let's switch back to our Rectangular Marquee Tool. And we need to
select this potion so better and hold your Shift key so that we
can add to our selection. But before that, let's
just zoom in a bit. And after that, press
and hold the Shift key. And by that it is so cooler
selection is not perfect. And if you want, you can
just right-click on it. And from here you can just
select Transform selection. And you can just transform
your selection a bit. And yeah, that would be fine. So Let's just hit Enter. And after that, Let's
just zoom out and create a copy and place it above this. Let's see how we did
and it's looking nice. So now we are only left
with the last one. Now let's complete it. So in this last one, we have to make Boucher
cooler selection around these sites and we have to add or rectangular
selection as well. So let's first add I was
so cool and selection, so associates to your
Elliptical Marquee Tool. And let's add a circular one and hold your space
bucky. And release it. This looks good. Let's release it and we need to make a circular
one here as well. So, so press and
hold your Shift key. And after their passion, hold your space bucky, to snap it with the sites and
release our space, bucky. And let's grow it from
the right-hand side. Press and hold your space bucky. And let's freighted with
that right-hand side. Now, we need to just make a
rectangular selection here. So let me just zoom in a bit and after that and grab
our marquee tool. And by the way, this
is not looking good. So you need to not
be perfect by using a Maki to it because there are other bet though
methods to do it, and we will learn them as we
move further in this course. But for now you
should always try to a bit inside your selection, because if you just go
outside your selection, then you can see your
background as well. So try to keep your
selection a few pixel inside if you are not able to match it with the
boundary of the shapes. So in this case, I have the same job
and I can spend out ten to 20 millisecond more
on this and I can fix it, but I'm not going
to do it because I hope that you might
have get the idea. So let's do it with this one and concerned holders Shift key so that we can
add to our selection. And let's at this. This looks good, but this
edge is not perfect, but that's not the matter for us because I hope that you
might have get the idea. So let me just simply press
Control or Command J, and let's move it
above this layer. And let's see how we did. And this also looks pretty good. So we are left with
this last one. And this last one is quite easy. We have to just make a
rectangular selection here. And after that, we can just remove an elliptical
room from that site. So let's so let me
just do it quickly. I just need to move it
a bit right-hand side. And after that, this shift to our Elliptical Marquee Tool and we need to remove
from our selection. So I am not going
to hold my oil key. So I'm switching to this
removed from selection and, and I'm guessing you're in
holding my shift key after clicking so that I can get
a perfect circular one. So let's complete this. Use your spacewalk keys To
snap bit with the edges. And that's looking good. And let's just zoom out. Select your Marquee Tool task and bless her and hold
Control or Command J. Move it above. And let's see the last one. And this one is also good. So, so this is that task
and I have completed it. And now those one more table
to complete these figures, please go ahead and
try this on your own. And you have also
this solution PhD are attached to this lecture. So if you want a reference, then you can also use it. And yeah, they're
tick what this task, I will catch you
in the next video.
9. Lasso Tools: Welcome back. In this video, I'm going to show you photoshops and other basic selection tool, that is the Lasso tools. All right, to enable it, you can just simply
press it hotkey L, or you can just
simply select it from this toolbar section
and you can find it in the third option here. And if you right-click on it, then data three last
two tools available. And this regular lasso tool
is just like the pencil. So if we draw anything using
this regular lasso tool, then everything that you
draw will be selected. So you can clearly see here, everything that I draw
will be selected. My canvas. And this regular lasso tool
is basically useful in those cases when you
are trying to make some rough selection
around your object. And by the way, there is
nothing much fancy about this regular lasso tool
and also this Options bar. We have already seen
this selection modes in the Marquee Tool and the
Elliptical Marquee Tool. So this one is going to add to your selection and this one is going to subtract or remove, and this is going to
intersect from the selection. So let me just quickly show you. If you just press and
hold your Shift key, then it is going to
add to your selection, if you're just better at wholly
are all key and then make a selection that it is going to remove from your selection. And if you press both Shift and Alt key and then
make a selection, then it is going to make the intersection of both
of these selections. So these are the selection
modes and this is the federal. And we have seen this
feather in that first video. And make sure you have always
check this anti-aliasing because it is going to produce
smooth edge transitions. And we're going to
talk about this, Select and Mask later
on this course. Does in short, the
Lasso tool is used to quickly pick up something
from your Canvas. And it is not that
precise though. If you use a tablet, then you might get
some better results. And my last word for this
regular Lasso Tool is you are generally going to use
this Lasso tool with some, any other selection tool
where you want to add or remove some large
portion from the selection. That's going to help you a lot or else you might
use this Lasso tool. So while retouching some images, and this is the general
use of this lasso tool. Now let's move to our
polygonal lasso tool. So this polygonal lasso tool is just like a pencil with a scale. So you can just make some straight line using
this Polygonal Lasso Tool. And this works great when
you are trying to select those objects which are
having straight lines. And to select anything using
this polygonal lasso tool, you have to make a closed path. So what I mean by
the closed path, let me just show you, I, let me just select
this much portion. And now if I just want to select this much
portion of the house, then I have to just
make a closed path. If I just go back again
to my starting point, that is from the
point where I started clicking using this
polygonal lasso tool. Then notice this symbol of
the polygonal lasso tool is going to change from
this symbol to this one. And this means that
you are going to make a closed path and it is
going to select this area. So there is nothing much more about this Polygonal
Lasso Tools. The Options bar is also same
as the regular lasso tool, but here comes that touched with them Magnetic Lasso Tool. And this magnetic lasso
tool is really something that can pull out some
really amazing selections. It can select an
object with say, 80 to 90 percent accuracy. And all you have to do is
just drag and lose and lazy outline around the
object which you want to select using your mouse. So let me show you how it works. Let's suppose I want
to select this window. So all I have to do
is I have to just click on one of its corner. And after clicking, I have to
just drag my mouse cursor. I, and I don't have to
click on my mouse cursor. I have to just drag it and make a rough outline
for my selection. And it is automatically
going to be selected, but I'm going to close my bot. So here we go. And when you reach
a starting point, just click here once again
and it is going to select. And after that, the selection
methods are nothing but we have talked about
them earlier, this feather, we have also talked about the interesting
thing here is end of vertebrate remains
the size of the area that Photoshop is going
to look for it at. So if I just increase
my route to 200 pixels, and if I hit Enter, and now if I just tried
to select this window, then look what happens. Photoshop is freaking out and it is not selecting properly, so I have to just reduce my width and it is
selecting last pixels. So I will highly
suggest you do keep your width to 10 pixels and
it is going to work that way. And the next thing
here is edge contrast. And this determines how much of a difference there must win the color or the
brightness value between the object
and the background. So what I basically mean by this is Photoshop is
going to look for that difference in the
color or the brightness of the object that
you are selecting and the background
of that object. So if I just reduce my
contrast 25 percent, then look how precisely it is going to select this
window now, even, even if I am using my most bed, so let just make some
selection and see it is making some very good selections here because I have
reduced my contrast. And, and Photoshop is
picking this contrast. So it is just selecting
this window properly. So, so if there is a good contrast between your
object and the background, then you can just increase
the contrast from here and you can just keep
it to 50, 60 percent. But if there is a
slight contrast between your object that you are selecting in the background, as in this case, my window and this background
color is same, so Photoshop is not
selecting it properly. So I have to just
decrease that contrast. Now this frequency here, just how often
Photoshop is going to add the NGO point
to your object. So what I mean by this is if I just care of ones and
if I just move further, then see photoshop is going
to add that point there. And after that it is going
to add that point here. So this yellow shapes are the anchor point
and this frequency determines how frequently
that Photoshop is going to add the angle
points to my object. And the red are
changing the frequency. It is better to manually
add the angle points. So to manually add
the anchor point, but you have to do
is you have to just click once or you can just click on your own
rather than just dragging. And Photoshop will
add anchor points, and anchor points will
be added to your object. And this is how to manually add the angle points and the NDI. This is the last new option
of this magnetic lasso tool. Now let me show
you a last thing. He'll let suppose
your walking with your Magnetic Lasso Tool and by mistake you Editor
wrong anchor point. So to go back or delete
that anchor point, you have to just press the
backspace key in Windows or that Delete key on a Mac and that wrong anchor
point will be deleted. And you don't have to discard your selection for that
one wronging upwards. So the last thing about this
magnetic lasso tool is if you're just making
a selection using this magnetic lasso tool, and if you find that you don't want to make your
selection anymore, then all you can do it to
revert back to original status. You can just simply press the Escape key and
everything will be gone. So my words for this
magnetic lasso tool is with a little practice
and a basic understanding, you just may find yourself
hopelessly attractive to this magnetic lasso
tool until and unless, you know some better alternative
to select something, which we are going to talk
in the upcoming videos. So with that being said, this is the Lasso
tools in Photoshop. And I will catch you in the
next video where we will do a task to practice
the last two tunes.
10. Task Lasso Tool: Welcome back. I hope that all of you are
doing good video Photoshop. And I think that all of you
are getting the concepts that I am teaching you in the
lecture and in this video, I am assigning you
a short task here. So I've warned you to use your Lasso tools that I taught
you in the previous video. And I want you to
select the sky using the Lasso tool and replace
this guy with this one. So it is going to be easy. And let's see how you perform and let me just give you a hint. All these edges are
straight lines. So you can either use your polygonal lasso tool or you can just use your
Magnetic Lasso Tool. So, so yeah, that's it. Nps don't forget to
share your work on the social media
platform like Instagram, facebook, or you
can also show me your work on the
comment section below. And I will catch you
in the next video where we will learn
the quick selection, objects selection and
no magic one tool.
11. Object Selection Tool: Hello friends. In this video, I'm going
to show you how to use our object selection tool
to quickly select people, animals, and objects
in your photos. By the way, this object
selection tool is only present in Photoshop
CC 2020 and above. So if you are using a previous
version of Photoshop, then my friend, it's time for you to upgrade your Photoshop. All right, to activate this, to look and just simply selected from this toolbar section. It is the fourth option here, or you can just simply press it hotkey that is dark blue
to select this tool. And by the way, if you
just right-click here, then there are three
tools available here. And we will talk about
this quick selection in the magic one tool a bit later. So let's just stick to the
Object Selection tool. So we're going to use
our objects selection tool in this case to
select this man out there. And let me show you
a cool thing, Yo, we are going to select this
man in just one single click without even using the object
selection to sort of do it. If you just look at
your options bar, then there is an option
called select subject. And if you just select it, then photoshop will
analyze the photo, end up back ground and it
will make a selection. And the selection is very amazing in 90 to ninety-five
percent of the cases. So if I just zoom in
and look at the edges, hope perfectly it has selected
the edges in this photo. And let me just
show you this ADA. Also very nice. But there is a little bit of problem
with his glasses and we can easily fix it using our Lasso tool is our
polygonal lasso tool. And in this case, I will
Magnetic Lasso Tool is going to help us and we
can even use our pen tool. But I haven't talked
about Pen tool yet. So we're just going
to stick with our Magnetic Lasso
Tool to fix it. And by David days in another
Select and Mask option available here to
refine this selection. And we will Back to
this Select and Mask feature a bit later in
this selection sections. So let's just talk about the
basic selection tool first. And let me just zoom out. And this is the select
subject and it is one of the quickest
end up fastest method to select that subject. And it's going to be best in those cases when there
are good contrast between the background and
your subject and the edges obvious
objectives, very different. So let me just move back to my object selection
tool and let's just dissect because
I will not show you how to use the object
selection tool. So, so before using this
object selection tool, let's look Options bar post. And by this time you might be familiar with this
selection mode. This is the new selection, this is add to selection. This is removed from
selection and it is, and this is in bisect
from the selection. Now this mode is
something new for you. So here by default it is set to rectangle and it is basically used to make some bigger
chunks selection. And if you are trying to refine
your selection after you have made about 90 to 95
percent of her selection, then you can use your
lasso tool to refine it. So let me just set it to a rectangle and make sure
you have always check this and Hans edge feature because this enhanced
edge feature is going to enhance that
selection of your photos. So to select your subject you have purchased to make
a rectangular selection like you did in
your Marquee Tool around your object and you
need not to be perfect. You can just add some
extra spaces because Photoshop is going to use it algorithms to
select the subject. So I have just made
a selection and let me just release
my mouse click now. And Photoshop will take some time and it will
select the subject. So look how good it is. I mean, really the
edges up perfect. So and there's a big
problem with this eyeglass, but we can fix it
in just a moment. So if we have almost
selected 99 percent of this, our subject in just a second using the
object selection tool. Now let me show you how
to refine this selection. So let me just zoom in. And I have told you that Lasso tool is used to
refine your selection. So let's just add this area to our selection
using our Lasso tool. So all you have to
do is this maker, the rough selection
around a subject, around the ADI, which
you've wanted to select. And just close this part, the way you used to doing your lasso tool and just
release your mouse click. Photoshop will calculate
and make a selection. And by the way, I just forget to set it to add to selection. And, and this results
in this thing. So let me just undo
once and let me just hit my shift
key so that it is now going to add to the selection
and north and northeast up plus symbol in the
middle of this coset here. So now if I just select it, then it is going to
add to the selection. And let me just complete
this section and see. Photoshop has now
selected this area and we want to select
this area also selected. So let me just hit my
shift key again and let just make a rough selection
around this area. And some payment
case might arise where you might
not be able to use your objects selection tool to make some minute selection, like in this case, if I
just tried to select it, then Photoshop and pop
up this message for me. And it will say that it could not find an object to select. So surplus egg, this ADR. But we're going to do is, we're going to just
switch back to our rectangular marquee tool. We are going to add
to our selection. And you're just going to grab this area and let's just
select this area has been, and now we are done
with our selection. So this is our selection. Let's just mascot. And let's say I add a solid
color adjustment layer, something from this side. And let's place it
behind NC objects selection tool has done a very good job here and
the edges are very nice. So this is how to select using
the object selection tool. Let's just move to
the next object. So here we have to
select this flamingo. So just change this mode
to rectangular one. And let's hit Enter, and let's make a rough rectangular selection
around this flamingo. And let's raise our mouse key. Wait for some time
and see the magic. I mean, this is really
a very nice selection. And this object
selection tool is a very big enough friendly tool. And as a beginner, you are
going to love this tool. But there are some limitations of this object
selection tool as well. But one of the
limitations I have shown you in this
image, that is, it is not able to select
smaller pixels area where it is not able to
identify any object. So this is one of
the limitations. Also your background
in the subject is going to be different
in different places. And objects selection tool might not work in all the cases. So you don't have to
rely just only on the object selection tool or
the width selection tool. But you would rather have to learn all the selection tools because you never know with selection tool is going
to walk in which image. So with dead, Let's just move
to the third image here. So let me just first use
my Select Subject option. And there are three
subjects in this image. And can you guess which subject is Photoshop going to select? So let us just try and see
which it is going to select. And it had selected all of the three
subjects in this case. But let's suppose I
just want to select this vault and I don't want
to select these two subjects. So in this case is object selection
tool is helpful and basically objects
selection duties, the manual version of this
Select Subject and you have your own choice of
selection of the object. So this is the basic
difference between thus select subject and
the object selection when, so let me just be
select and let's select this watch only using about
optics selection tool. And it did a pretty
good job here. So let me just zoom in and we need to remove this
portion from our selection. So how can you remove this
portion from your selection? You can just first try to
change your mode to last x21. And let me just press and
hold my Alt or Option key because I am trying to
remove from this selection. So the specimen holder, Alt or Option key, just make a rough
selection around here. And let's see what happens. Photoshop just remove this area. Let's just select this area
as well and try to remove it. Don't forget to press and hold Alt or Option key
while using this. And we need to add
a bit of this area, but Photoshop might not add this area using the
object selection tool. But let's try. Let's press and hold
our Shift key and let omega bigger selection so that
Photoshop can identify it. And let's see this walking. Yeah, almost, we have
just almost done this. And this is thus
selection which group 1? Now let's move to this a camera. So, just, so let me just change my mode to
rectangular one. And either really loved this rectangular
selection because all I have to do is just make our rectangular marquee
tool type selection. Our own subject and Photoshop will automatically
selected for me. So let me just simply make a selection and
require some time. And yes, it has made a pretty good selection
here as well, but we need to refine
our selection a bit. So, so now let me show you
how this Maki tool and the Lasso Tools
player helping hand in selection with some
other selection tool. So let me just select
my rectangular. So let me just select my
polygonal lasso tool. And we're going to add this
area to our selection. So let me just zoom in a bit. And let's start from here. Click here once. And by the way, I forgot to add guava selection, so I just hit Escape key
to discard everything. Let's select, Add
Glow selection, and let's click here once. And let's make a point here. Let's move it to
this point as well. Add a bit from this area. And let's just close. And now let us just close
our rectangular Path. And let's see how it performed. So yeah, the bottom
part is done. And now we are going to use our, I guess, Magnetic Lasso
Tool to fix this area. And let me just set it to new selection and we will
see what we are going to do. So I think that I need to remove some areas
for my selection. So let me just press and
hold Alt or Option key. And let me just made
some few clicks hill and give me some momentum that I can compete
this selection. I'm going to, I'm going
to give some time to the selection so that I can precisely match
the details here. And I will catch you in the
other side of the video. And we have just done this area. And by Ofwat, this
shadow is disturbing me, so I am not able to
add this Ada properly. So let me just add
this much area again. And let's see how we did. Any other decks our selection. So this is how to use the object selection
tool along with the other basic selection
tool that we have learned previously to make your
selection perfect. And that's all about
objects selection tool. In the next video, we will
see the Quick Selection Tool.
12. Quick Selection Tool: Welcome back. In this tutorial, I'm
going to show you how to use the Quick
Selection tool to quickly select anything
in your photos and it really stand
out to its name. Alright, to show you the power
of Quick Selection Tool, let's move to this image and we have already done this activity, and we have used
our marquee tools to select all these shapes. So now I'm going to use
my Quick Selection Tool. And with just one single click, I'm going to select each
and every of this shapes. So, so to activate the
quick selection tool, you can either press it hard, keep w. After pressing W, you have to press
Shift W2 Dowell between the object
selection tool and thus Quick Selection Tool. Or you can just simply
right-click here. And from this
option, you can just simply select the
Quick Selection Tool. Now the properties of
this quick selection tool is kind of similar
to the brush tool. You can increase the size of
the quick selection brush. You can engage the end, decrease the hardness as well. And oil you can do is with the same shortcut that we
have used in the brush tool. So you might not face any
problem with increasing and decreasing the
size of this brush and the hardness of
this brush as well. So the important thing here is to select anything
in your Canvas. You can just simply click on the object which
you want to select. This simply click and
drag to make a selection. So let me just shrink down
the size of my brush. You're going to either
use your square bracket keys or you can just use your oil drag technique to
reduce the size of the brush. Now what we have to do, we have position,
make some few clicks. So we can select these shapes. So if you just click here once
and just one single click, it is going to select
this whole shape. And by the way, you have
to make sure that you have enabled this enhance edge
feature in this options, Bob, because if I just disable
this enhanced edge feature, and if I just be selected, then although it has
done the same job, but that ADCs are
no, not perfect. And as this is a simple
shapes so it is working fine. But if you move to some
difficult images like this one, then it is going
to really suffer. So make sure you have
always enable this. And Hans, that's not even
in this quick selection, but also in the object
selection tool as well. So simply enable it. And now we can just select
all of these shapes by just one single click and go. Nes VM selected this seven
shapes in just a few clicks. And we have done the same
thing using our Maki dues. And we have to spend that
on five to ten minutes to select these shapes
using the marquee tools. So now you can feel the power of this Quick Selection Tool. But distinct doesn't means that our quick selection tool is the best selection tool because this Quick Selection
Tool basically select the pixels based
on the border of the shape and the contrast between the background
and the subject. So there's a good contrast between the background
in the subject, then it is going to
select it properly. And if there is a very defined
edge of the shape as well, then the Quick
Selection Tool will work best in those cases. So if you just give
him a moment thing, we have to remove this blue shall come from our select
potential to remove anything, but we have to do, yes, we have to press and hold
the Alt or Option key. And then we can just
simply click here once. And and after making
some few clicks, it will have a more
from the selection. And that is what we wanted in debt exercise if you just
took my mother thing. So we have completed
this exercise in just a matter of seconds. Now let's move to
the next image. So let's suppose
I want to select this model out there using
my Quick Selection Tool. So let me just zoom in a bit. And now that we have used up click and drag
muttered Betty's, we have to just brush over
this model to select it. So first let me just reduce
the size of my brush. And let us just simply brush over the subject which
you want to select. And we will refine
it a bit later after selecting the biggest
chunk of this section. So we have selected about everything now we have to
refine our selection so, so we don't need this part. So let me just reduce the size of the brush
and press and hold the Alt or Option key and telephoto shot
dead in Photoshop. I don't need this much
area in my selection, so just place remove
it and you have to just drag your mouse
cursor in this area. And Photoshop will
remove this area. So it did a pretty
good job here. All we need to remove this
portion from this part. So just reduce the
size of the brush, press and hold the Alt or
Option key and click here once, and it will remove this
area and now press and hold the Alt or
Option key and move. And the move these
areas as well. So just simply
drag and buy them. If you want to improve
this minor areas, then you can use your
magic one tool or the polygonal lasso tool to
improve these areas as well. But I'm not going to show you how to use it because I have already shown you that thing in the Object Selection Tool video. So if you haven't
watched that video, please go ahead and
watch that video first. So. So n one more thing
here is that if you have zoom-in a lot to your image and if we want to scroll to another
section of the image, so all you can do is
simply press and hold on X key and then just drag
your mouse goes outwards. And this square root and Nobel show you and
now, and now beta. But you want to
zoom in this big, this Moscow circle debt point. And after that, just release
your mouse click first, then the edge here, and you will be
directed to that ADR. So now we have to remove this
portion from our selection. So let me just do it quickly. And let me tell you
one more thing. This quick selection tool
is really going to struggle when you are trying to select
this type of ten years, because the contrast between this ten years and the
background is not that much. So this 10-year is
getting the color of the background and
quick selection tool is not able to select the stamp
soft pixels in your image. So make sure you select only those image to practice
the Quick Selection, which has good contrast between the subject
and the background. So we need to add this
to our selection. Let's just add this much of
area and let's zoom out. So we are done with
this selection. Now let's move to
our next image. So in this image, let
suppose I want to select this node book along
with dispense it. And one thing yet is
that this pencil is getting a lot of color
of this background. And if I zoom in, then even I am not able to properly see this
left edge of this. Okay, So if I just tried to use my Quick
Selection Tool here, then say this quick selection
tool is going to struggle. So it's time to use the basic selection to
that we have learned along with this
quick selection tool to make the selection perfect. So let's just deselect
this area first. And if you just notice here, this pencil is a straight line. And I have told you in
some video that if you are selecting an
object straight line, then the polygonal, then the polygon lasso tool is
going to help you a lot. So select the
Polygonal Lasso Tool. And now what we have to do
is we have to just make some few clicks around this pencil and we have
to just select it. So let me just do it quickly. By then I have shown you
something like this in the object selection
tool video as well. But I think that it is
important to show you how to use basic selection tool, again with dark Quick
Selection Tool as well. So this is how to do it. Let me just zoom out and let's just complete this selection. So we have this selected, this much portion
of this pencil. Now we have to select
this notebook, so, but we have to do
is we have to just switch back to our
quick selection tool. We have to set it to
eight procession, make sure it is set
to add to selection. And let's increase the
size of our brush. And after that, just make
too thick lakes around here. And it will select
this whole subject. So now if I just zoom in, then see how perfect
it has done its job. And we have selected this ADR completely using
our quick selection tool. So this is Quick Selection
tool in Photoshop. As a beginner, you are also
going to love this tool. But I will highly recommend you to don't rely on this tool completely because
most of the bigness completely rely on this
Quick Selection tool. They use this Quick
Selection Tool, every photos, but
this is not the case. You have to know
the other tools and other methods as well and
every image is different. So my basic goal is not
to teach you the methods and tools used for
selection, but, but to give you an idea about
which tool is going to be perfect and efficient in
width selection gates. So in this case, we have used our quick selection
tool along with our polygonal lasso tool to
quickly select this subject. And with that, this
is it for this video. I will catch you
in the next video.
13. Magic Wand Tool: Hello everyone. In this lecture
I'm going to teach you how to use the
magic one tool. By the way, this magic
one tool is one of the oldest selection
tool in Photoshop, and I like the other
selection tools like the object selection tool and the Quick Selection Tool
we have seen previously. Let's select this
subject based on the color contrast between the background in the subject and by detecting the
edges of the subject. This magic one tool
select the pixels based on the color and
the tone of the pixels. So what I mean by this is I will show you just in a moment. And before that, let's
just look at this options. Bob, selection, water's
clear to you by now. This sample size is something we have all agreed talk about and liquidous arguing show
you how the sample size work. And the important thing
here, this Doyle went, so I left us see how this sample says and doldrums
affect your selection. So let's just move. Could this be ASD? And let's suppose I have
selected my samples, There's two points and burn. And this manual. And the minimum value of
the dollar wins here, this is 0 and the
maximum value is 255. And with this magic
wand tool selected, if I just click
anywhere at that point, then see its select only
that big cell BIFs. I'll click dawns because I have set my sample
took point sample. So it is only going to sample that point pixel
which I have selected. And though, as I have
set my tolerance to 0, so it is going to only select that particular color
way I have clicked. Now let's just keep our sample
size two points and one. And let's increase our tolerance
to something like Dan. And let me just
deselect this area. And now if I just
click here once, then it is selecting the
bigger chunk of the color because I had set my
tolerance to this ten, and now it is
selecting more pixels. So this is the import took. This is told in SEO, if I just increased my tolerance to some drastic amount like 255, and if I just deselect it, and if I just click
anywhere in this Canvas, then it is going to
select the whole canvas because my tolerance
is very high. So you have to make
sure that you are working with the
appropriate tolerance. Now let me just set
my tolerance to 0. And if I just change my sample size to
three-by-three average, which means that it
is going to look at three by three pixels around
the point behind click. And it will average debt color, and it will select
that color for me. So let's just click
here once and see, even with this tolerance 0, I am now getting a
complete Our column of the selection because my sample sizes
three-by-three average. And now just change it
to add to selection so that I can show you
the other sample sizes. And if it is, change it
to five-by-five average. And now if I just
click here once, then see this column width increases because my
sample size increases. So if I just said
it to 11 by 11, then this column
with all the colors, again going to increase here. So let me just increase
it drastically 251. And now if I just click here, then see the changes. And if I increase my tolerance
as well to about five. So now if I just click, then it is going
to increase a lot. So this is how the sample
size n, the tolerance walk. And I hope that this is
clear to you because this is something
really important, not only on this
magic wand tool, but you might encounter
this sample size and tolerance in other
sections as well. And I'm not going to explain you this concept of this video, so make sure you
remember this thing. Now let's move to this image. Now in this image, let's
suppose I want to select this flower using
my magic wand tool. So can you think of a method where I can
easily select this flower? You might be thinking
that I have to click on all of the colors of this flower and this stem as
well to select this flower. But what I'm going to do is
I'm going to just select the background and
I'm going to invert my selection after
selecting my background. So I'll just set my sample. So I'm just going to set my sample size to
about five-by-five. Average. Sediment told wins
20, 20 something. And by the mid 22 third pays a good starting point
for that tolerance. So if you're a beginner, try to set up a tolerance
to about 20 and 30 and then increase it gradually if this tolerance is not
going to work for you. So let's just click and
see how much ADA selected. And this is pretty nice. So we are left with this area. And this material has been, so in just three clicks, I have selected this
whole bag ground, and this selection is
also pretty good hill, and we have removed this
portion from our selection. So what I'm going to do
is I'm going to just decrease my sample
size to wane simple. Let me just hit Enter and
I'm going to just press and hold the Alt or
Option key so that I can remove my selection. And if I just click here once, and by the way, I have to add that area to my selection because I am
selecting the background. So I have to add the Syria to my selection tool. But
I'm willing to lose. I'm going to press and hold my shift key and then
click here once, so it will be added and it will be better for you to
select this small areas using the basic
selection rule that we have learned and leave the rest 90 to ninety-five percent of the job with this
magic one tool. So we have almost
selected everything. Now we have to invert our selection tool and
invert our selection. You can just simply go
to select and from here, choose Inverse and its shortcut is Control Shift I
or Command Shift I. If you are using a Mac, now it will invert the selection
and let's create a mask. And let's see how we did using a solid color adjustment layer. So the sector to read. And we have done a
pretty good job here. So we have selected this flower. Now let's move to
this image here. So in this image, we have closed select
these four shapes. And we can just simply use
our magic wand tool because, because there is not much
color in this subject. So let me just increase my sample size to
11 by 11 average. Let's see this, how it works. Let's click here once. And though. Let me just press and
hold my Shift key so that it will add
to my selection. And let's add this
also to our selection. And by the way, I can also select the
background as well. But both of the selection will be same in this case because the background in
the subject are all kind of similar type color. So again, rather just
directly select my subject, but I can just
simply select my bed grown and then
inverse my selection. So I have selected
these four shapes here. And this magic wand tool is basically going to help
you Event data only 34 colors in your image
or in the background of the image and the
subject of the images. And really very tough to select, but the bed grown just
contain one do amaze then this magic one tool isn't really a great tool
for the selection. So this is the magic
one tool in Photoshop. And one thing here is
I've warned you to analyze all the images
that we have used, the loud to make
some selections. So, so you have to analyze that whenever we are trying
to select those objects, which has very
defined shapes and a good contrast between the
background and the subject. Then we are using the Quick Selection or the
object selection tool. Whenever there is a selection which can be performed based on the selection of the
color of the pixels. Then we are going to
use the magic one tool. And the last thing
here is that whenever you are trying to
refine the selection, you can either use this selection pools to add
or remove your selection, or you can just use the basic selection tools
to refine the selection. So Soviet dead, this
is it for this video, I will catch you in the
next video where we will do a quick task based on
the object selection, Quick Selection, and
no magic one tool.
14. Task Select Objects: Welcome back my friends. In the previous videos, we have learned about
object selection, Quick Selection, and
a magic one tool. Now it's time for you to do some task and I will
tell you what to do. And I will also
give you some hints about how to do it and
you have to do that. I saw that things by yourself. All right, you have these
two images are attached to this lecture and go
ahead and download them. And in this first image, I want you to select each of
these objects one-by-one. And I want you to output
them to its new layer. And after outputting them
to their unique Leo's, you have to change
the background of this image to any
color you want. So, so for example, let's suppose you have to
select this royal food, then all you have to do is
just make a selection of the cell phone and then just output this mobile
phone to its newly. So do outputted, you
have to just press Control or Command J and it will be copied
to its newly them. And after that, you have to
do the rest of the things for all of these objects
except this bag. So there are four objects here. This is that thing that you
have to do and you have to share me or work on those
social media platforms, or you can just simply share it in the comment section has been. So let's move to our next image, and this is going
to be difficult. So in this image you have to select this bicycle and
make sure you don't use any other dual except those that we have already
learned in this class. There is that rectangular
marquee tool, our lawsuit dues, and
our object selection, Quick Selection and
the magic one tool. So there is a problem
that you might face. You might find it
difficult to remove the background from
this room section. And if you ask me how to remove the background
from this room section, then Ivan simply use my magic
one tool for this purpose. And I didn't refine my selection using this basic selection tool, select the Polygonal Lasso and
all the marquee tool also. So Deselect up bigger
chunk of this cycle using your quick selection or
the object selection tool and the final selection using
the basic selection tools. And for this section, you can use the magic one
tool to remove this colors. And after the NBA
refine this rim area, you have to use your
basic selection tool. So this image is going
to take some time. It might take between
30 minutes to one hour for you to
perfectly remove this, but I don't want the
perfect results. About 90 to ninety-five
percent is enough for me. So so this is what you
have to do in this task. And with debt, this
is it for this video. And if you are
facing any problem regarding this selections, and if you wanted me to
select these objects, then please comment below. And I will make a separate video for this task solution as well. And with that, I will get you in the next section
or the selections. A baby when loans up. At bonds selection
tools like Ben pool, our direct selection tool, our color range, focus area, select and mask and all dead. So, so see you there.
15. Pen Tool Introduction: Welcome back. In this video
we are going to see how do you spend to him for
selection purposes in Photoshop. Although it's
emotional or photoshop uses especially bigness, find it difficult to use pen
tool for selection purposes. The rather stick to that. Easier selection tools
like Quick Selection Tool, Lasso Tool, rectangular marquee tool for their day-to-day
life selections. But trust me guys on this, when you get used to
using the pen tool, you just absolutely love it. And Pen tool is
something which is not only exclusive to Photoshop, it is also present in other
graphic designing and other video editing tools
like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD, InDesign,
Adobe Premier Pro, and then lots of
other tools as well. So this is that time to master the pen tool and let's do
it together in this video, all the way to
activate the pen tool, simply plexus hotkey P
and get distinct clear in your mind that whenever you want to activate our
select the Pen tool, you are not going to
select it from this tool. Last section, you are only
going to use it's hard keep P and get distinct clear that only stands for pen to
learn the properties panel, not plugins, not
pancakes netting. It is only pen tool. Okay. So if I click on
this pen tool section, there are numerous
tools available. We are only going to talk about this pen tool and the
Kobe Japan tool because the rest of them are
either useless or they can be used along
with the pen tool. So let's stick with
the pen tool first and before using the pen tool
makes her in this option. This option is set
to pad because path is going to help you to
make out selections. And we will talk
about this shape in that shaped section
of this course. So let's stick with the part. So a path is basically
a vector liner ship. It is not terrestrial
quantity is a vector quantity and
a basic path is a, a line joining
between two points. So if you make anchor
point and remember, whenever you click
on the canvas, you are going to make an anchor
point using the pen tool. So I've just made
an anchor point. And if I just click on any
other point in my Canvas, then a line will be connected
between these two points. And this line is
called a patent. This is the simplest
path in Photoshop. Now to make selection, you have to make a closed path. So how to make a
close path that we will first make some
proof or random points. And let's close it
and close it simply. Again, click on the initial
point from where you started and then you hold over the point from
there you have started. You can see so-called icon
included in the pen tool. So if you click it,
then you have completed a closed path and now you can make a selection with the spot. So to make a selection, there are three possible
things that you can do. The first thing is
that you can click on this option that says Make
Selection in the Options bar. Then a dialog box will appear. Then from here you can
set the feather radius. And if you don't know about
feather, don't worry, we will talk about it in some later videos
of this section. But for now let's
holistic with a pen tool. So click Okay to
make a selection. Now we have an active
selection in Canvas. Now the other method is, let me just undo ones. Let's right-click any
of it in your Canvas. And from these options, click on this option which
says Make Selection. Now the same dialogue
box will appear. And again, you can set your
feather radius and hit OK. So these are the two ways. Now for the third one,
let me just undo. Now in this Layers panel, click on this option which says, but any British North deal in
your layers panel and then go to Windows and make
sure this part is enabled. Now you can see a work path in this part section, select it, and in this bottom
right section, click on this option to make
a selection using the path. And now you don't get
any dialog box to set the further radius and to add or selector remove
from the selection. But you simply get a
selection out of your path. So these are the
three methods to make a selection using the path. Now that's made some random anchor points using
our pen tool. So I just click here once and I don't have released
my mouse-click get. So without releasing, you're mostly if you click and drag, then you can see some lines coming out from
this anchor point. So this lines are called
the control handle. And using this control handle, you can control the
direction of the next, that is coming point and the previous point and
the angle as well. So, but does I mean by this is, let me set that
direction over here. And let's add another
anchor point, what our canvas, so
let's add it here. It's going in this
trajectory because my forward path is
set to this angle. So if I change my
forward path angle, then I can change that
projectory of this part. And I will show you
how to use how to change that trajectory in the Direct Selection
Tool chapter, because I'm currently using
my direct selection tool, the Pen tool, but that's
coming a bit later. Let's stick with
a pen tool first. So let me just undo
or several time. Let me show you how to mix straight lines
using the pen tool. So to make a straight line speak on your canvas to
add an anchor point, now press and hold
your Shift key and click on any other
point in your Canvas. And it will make a straight
line from these two points. So this is how to make straight
lines using your Canvas. No, not to make the coffee
pot assemblies just Mika, anchor point, click and drag, and you will get a
CocoaPod in your Canvas. So this is how to make the
Copart and the straight lines. Now, let's practice
this pen tool by selecting some shapes
in our Canvas. So let me just undo or several
time and I will show you. Spent doing work. So let me just
unhide this shape 1 and we're going to select this rectangular box
using our pen tool. And we will try to confine our path within this
true boundaries. And let me start
from this point. Let's add an anchor point here. Let's press and
hold our Shift key, and let's add another
anchor point over here. Now one thing I want
to show you here is suppose you have
accidentally click it, any other point, except the point from wherever
you want to click. Suppose you have clicked here, then don't release your mouse click without releasing
a mouse-click. Press and hold your space bucky. And now you can change the
position of this path. So pleased it edits
right position. Now let's add an anchor
point over here. Let's complete this path. Let's add N2 point over here. So we have made our closed path. Now to make the selection, I prefer to right-click always. And let's make selection, new selection because
we don't have any active selection
in the Canvas. Let's hit. Okay, so we have just selected
this rectangular box. Now let's select up another layer over
here. So let's start. Let's add an anchor
point over here. Let me just present hold my shift key and let's add
another anchor point O. Now these two anchor
points that we have added in our Canvas,
other Smoot, other normal anchor
points because we don't have any control handles
for this anchor point. We can't as the direction of done upcoming or the previous point using
this angle points. And we want to go
over this region. So we have to convert this anchor point to a
corner anchor point. And to convert it to a
corner anchor point, we have to use our Convert
Point tool in this section. So to switch to
Convert Point tool, you can use your
Alter Option key. But notice one thing here, I have just lost my NGO points. And at any point of time, if you just lost
your anchor points, then what you can do is
you can simply hover over the corner
points of your path. Then you can see, I can
along with the Pen tool, then click it any other point and you can get
your anchor points back. So I'm saying that
I want to convert this point to a
corner anchor point. And to do it, simply patent hold the Alt or Option key
and click on this point. Don't release your mouse-click, click and drag to get
this control handles. And now we can set
that direction and the angle of the coffee pot. Now let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's click and drag to
make up the bulk of pot. And let's say this
control handle as well. And if I just directly click
on this control handle, then I will be adding a new
anchor point in my canvas. And this is something
that I don't want it. So let me just undo to set
this control handle only. And for this purposes, we have to use our direct
selection tool and to switch to the Direct Selection
Tool doesn't hold Control or Command key B. And I'm going to select it from the toolbar section over here, simply pleasant hotel
controller command key. And now you can see a
white arrow whether your canvas and this is
the direct selection tool. Don't really use your
Control or Command key. Now, simply grab
this anchor point and set it according
to your need. So I have just match
this over this region. And also, let's set this anchor point for
this region as well. Let's take it a bit outside and this is
looking case for me. Also, one more thing is
that if we think that your anchor point
position is not correct, then you can change your anchor point position using this text selection tool. And to change the position, simply switch to the
Direct Selection Tool and grab the anchor point and take it to its desired position. So let's release it over
here and the sloping plane. Now, let me just set this
control handle is when. Now let's add another
anchor point over here. So let's hold our Shift key and let's add anchor
point O here. So we have just done
about 90% of the things. Now one thing is
that we want to end up cough, but what Hill? Suppose, accidentally
forget to get the contour. And that's what
this anchor point, and I had just click add the
closing point and they have just click and drag to set the control handles
for this anchor point. But now I can't get my control handles for
this anchor point. So to get the control
handles for this NGO point, I have to convert it to, but I have to convert it to a corner anchor point
and to convert it, but I have to do, I have
to press and hold Alt or Option key to get to
the Convert Point tool. And then I have to click and drag to get my control handles. So I now have my
control handles. Now I can set this control
handles according to my needs. So let me just press and hold
my Control or Command key. I have now released my
older option because I now have my control
handles with me. So pleasant Julio,
controller command T. Now let's set it according
to your design needs. Let me just take
it a bit outside. Let's set this anchor
point as well. So select this anchor point using our direct selection tool. Double-click over here. You will get the control
handles for this NGO point. Let's set it. Let's take it a bit outside. Let's set this anchor
point as well. And this looking
almost okay for me. But if you notice here, if I just use my
Direct Selection tool for setting this control handle, not only this forward
control handle is moving, but now that what control
handle is also moving. So my previous position is
also getting changed if I just change the control
handle for this anchor point. Now to only change a particular
direction control handle, I have to break this
control handle and I can take it using my
Alt or Option key. So too big a control handle,
simply patent holder, Alter Option key and click on the control handle
which you want too big. Now you can just freely
move this control handle without worrying about the
analog control handle. Now, this is the thing I can perfectly met
this control handle, what this region here, I can match this
control handle as well. So we have made up
part over here. And if you look at the
path tab in your Canvas, then you can see active. But for some reasons, if you want to save your pot, then what you can do
is you can simply double-click over here
and you can name it. Let's name it Test 2. Let's hit. Okay, and I have
just saved my path. Now, let's make a selection
for this path has been, let's right-click
make selection. We have to add this
to our selection. So to edit, simply
switch to this option, Add to selection.
Let's hit. Okay. So we have just made a
selection over here. So this is how to work
with the pen tool. This is just the
basics of pendulums. We'll talk more
about the Pen tool. We will make these
two selections. We will do an activity based on the pen tool in the third
video of the pen tool. And for now, I think this
is it for this video. In the next video, we will talk about the
Path Selection Tool. We will talk more about
the direct selection tool. We will talk about
that point tool. So that video is also going
to be very important. Don't skip that video and I
will see you in the next one.
16. Direct Selection and Path Selection Tool: Welcome back. Then
now we have made two selections
using our pen tool. And in this video, we are going to complete the
rest two of them. And I'm going to talk about path selection tool and
the Direct Selection Tool. And we will also learn how to use the COVID
jump Point tool. So let's start, let's first
begin with this circle. Let me just so many. And let's fit it at
the center here. Now let's add an anchor
point over here. And let me just click and
drag to get that handles. That is the control handles for this anchor point because
we need a curved path. So I have just get the control
handles for this region. Now, let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's click and drag
and try to match it. Let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's click and drag
and try to match it. So we have done it almost. But see, I have to
justice and go point. I have to take it more towards the left-hand side so that I can put this edge
properly or I can, or as I have to match
this anchor point. So I have to just grab my
Direct Selection tool. And a basic use of the
direct selection tool is to select up part that you
have made in your Canvas. So I have my direct
selection tool activated in my Canvas and it's hard
key shift along with a. So my direct Selection
Tool activity, Let's make a selection over this part using our
direct selection tool. And now you can get your anchor points along with
its control handles. So now you can use your direct
selection tool and change the control handles
and try to match it. So let's do it. And I don't like to prefer this way of using
the direct selection tool, rather what I like to do is
let me select my pen tool. And what I do is I
simply press and hold my Control or Command key and switch to the
Direct Selection Tool. Notice this is a symbol of
their direct selection tool. So I have also talk about this direct selection tool via walking with the shape tool. Also, I think that I have
to fix this point as well. So let's look now at this point. Let's try to take
more take it more towards right-hand side
or left hand side. Yeah, that's looking fine. Let's adjust this
anchor point as well. Currently, I am
recording this video, I'm seeing it as well
as performing group. So it might take more time
to manage this edges, but in real life it
is just a matter of seconds even I can make
this so-called post, but using that to
anchor points only. And I'm going to show you
just after completing that, this four anchor points. So let me just add an
anchor point over here. Let's click and drag. And accidentally,
I have just lost my part from this
region over here. So let me just
again get my butt. If you hover over any of your last other
corner anchor points, you will see this
icon click on here. You will be working
with your part. So let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's click and drag. Let's fix it over this region. Let's complete this selection. Let's click, let's say. Yeah, that's nice. We have just made a
circular selection using our pen tool. So let's make selection. Let's add to our selection. We have to add only, let me just zoom out. So we have our three
selects as active. And now I'm going to
just show you how to make the selection using
the Coleridge appoint two, let me just undo
what several times. Now, select the OCO, which I'll point to
from this section. Let's add 1 over here. Let's add another
point over here. Let's add another
point over here. Let's add another
point over here. And let's close this part. And in just forcing Netflix without setting the
control handle, without using that
deck selection tool. I have just made the spot. And this gulf selection
tool is very useful when you are working
on part like this. So remember, you can also use this gulf selection
tool if you want, but I prefer to use the
pen tool along with this, let me show you how to use
the path selection tool. So I have this selected, my Path Selection Tool from the
stool last section. And by the way, it's hotkeys. Now, to use the path
selection tool, simply click and zag, and you have selected
your part now you can, now you can position your
part to any place you like. And let me just undo. And if you press and hold Alt or Option key and if
you reposition it, then you are going
to copy your pot. See, I have my active part over here and I
have also a part. Or again, if I just
press and hold Alt or Option key and using
my path selection tool. If I just click and
drag and place it here, then I'm going to
copy this part. So this is our main bulk of
the path selection tool. And, and let me show
you how to make the spot with just two
anchor points. So let's see. I'll be able to do it or not. Let me zoom in a bit and let
me switch to my pen tool. Let's add anchor
point over here. But notice I'm currently
on my initial point 2. Let's switch to the pen tool. Let's add anchor 0 Hill. And I want the control
handles for this in Gaborone. So let me just undo, Let's get both of
the control handles. Let, let's just stretch it and let's add anchor
point over here. Let's just statute. And let's try to snap
this side of the circle. Let's use our direct
selection tool. Remember, whenever you want
to set your control handles, use the direct selection tool by pressing the controller
command key, said this tag, said it, said this control handle, and let set it as Ben. So now we have completed
a semicircular path. Let's complete our full circle. Let's add an anchor
point over here. Now we have to set that
control handles for this anchor point as this
anchor point as well. So let's pestered whole our
controller command key. Let's double-click
on this anchor point and you will get the
control handles. Now if I just use my direct
selection tool and if I just tried to set this control handle,
then look what happens. The other control handle
is also going to more. So I have to break this
control handle and break-it. Simply use your
old Option key and click on this handle
and it will be broken. Now, you can use your
direct selection tool. You can set the control handle. This control handle,
this control handle is not going to change. Now let me just again
do the same step for this control handle is when let's break this control handle. Let's say two. Fit this. Let me just change
the position of this anchor point over here. So the, I've just
made a circular path using only two anchor points. And let me tell you one thing. The lesser than a mode of
anchor points you have, the better it is. And this is because when you
have less anchor points, you are going to get
less shaky edges and then you add more
anchor points or whatever. Then you're going
to get more shaky. This and vitally, in
this Options bar, you can see an option which
says auto, add and delete. And if it is enabled, and if you hover over
the pot and then you can see a plus icon
along with the pen tool. So if you click
here are the need, you can add anchor point
over here as well. You can start that action
for this anchor point. You can influence this path
using this angle point. You can add as many
as anchor point as you want in this goal. This is the work of
auto add and delete. And this auto ending
delete is nothing but the ad and go upward and
the delete anchor point. And let me show you how the
Delete Anchor Point in volts. So we have just to add to four anchor points over here now to delete this anchor point, if you just hover over it, then you can see a minus symbol
along with the pen tool. And if you click, get rid
of that anchor point. So you have just moved two
anchor points over here. Let me just remove this
two anchor points as well. See I have just
distorted this go. Now I have to again set my control handles
what this covers bell, but there's going
to be tedious work. Let me just undo
or several times so that I can get my shape here. So right-click over here. Let's make selection. Let's edit to our selection. Now let's select the last
one that is this hardship. So let's start from here. Let's click and drag to
get that control handles. Let me just break
this control handle because we want to finish
it from this point. Now, let's add an
anchor point over here. Let me just try to snap it. Yeah, that's looking fine. Let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's try to fix this. Let's use our deck
selection tool. See how easy it is to use the control handles and
to use the pen tool. Most of people
find it difficult, but it is not. It is very helpful, very easy, very
easy to work with. And you are definitely
going to learn it as you start
practicing the pen tool. And let's add another
anchor point over here. I have to just fix
this anchor point. So Let's break this
anchor point over here. So let's hold Alt or Option D, and let's click on
this anchor point. Now I can change the anchor
point and I can set it. Let's use our direct
selection tool to snap this angle points. And that's looking okay for me. So yeah. Now let's complete our part. Let's click here. Let's use our direct
selection tool. Double-click and use and
said this control handles, Let me just take
this control handle. I have just switched to
my older option gig, that is the Convert Point tool. Let me just snap it, and I have just completed
this heart shape. Now one important thing that
I want to show you here is that you can use your
free transform tools. You can transform it, you can do the distort, you can do all sorts of things using this part and to do it, simply right-click on it and choose this Fourier
transform pad. And now you can
clearly transform it. You can resize your part
to any shape you want. You can, again
right-click over here. You can rotate it. You can just select
distort. Come on. You can distort your part and you can change the
perspective is when. So this is how to use the
transform controls with a path. Let me just undo it. Let's add it also
to our selection. And let me zoom out. So now we have made our fourth selections
using the pen tool, the direct selection tool,
and a convert point tool. And I hope that by now
you might have get an idea about how to
use the pen tool. And in the next video, we are going to do one task
based on the Pen tool, and I hope that you might
be able to complete it. And I will also show you
some of them how to do it. And for now, this is
it for this video, I will see you in the next one.
17. Task: Pen Tool: Welcome back guys. In
the previous two videos, we have seen using
the pen tool and the direct selection tool
for selection purposes. Now, before moving any
further in this course, I have a task for
all of you guys to complete so that you can
practice that pen tool. And this task is
a bit similar to the Marquee Tool tasks that
we have done previously. So all you have to
do is you have to select these shapes
using the pen tool. You have to copy
it and you have to place it above this
color fill layer. And you have to make
sure that you don't get any white background
in your selection. So if you think
that you can select all these shapes on your
own, then go ahead, stop this video here
and come back to this video if you are
facing any issues well, selecting any of the
shape comment below, I will make a separate
solution video for all of the shifts. For this video, I'm going to
show you the selection for this shape over here and
what this shape as well. So let me start with this shape. Okay, so let's
start, let's click it here and let's
add an anchor point. Now one thing that
I forgot to tell you is that if you click and drag and then you can decide the forward
direction of your path. So currently I have clicked
and drag and this direction and my forward exodus towards
left side of this Canvas. So if I add another anchor
point in my Canvas, then, then this will
follow this type of path. But instead of setting
this as a forward path, if I click and drag and said
this has been for what path? The look what happens
if I click here. If I add an anchor point
behind my forward direction, then this will follow
this type of path. So you had to see what you
have to select Indus shape. And according to
it, you can select your forward and the
backward direction. So let me undo or several times. And let's add anchor point O
here. Let's click and drag. I have set my forward
action to this one. Let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's click and drag, and let's try to snap it with the edges. Let me just reposition this. And got weren't using
my space, bucky. Yeah, that's looking
fine for me. Now, let's add another
anchor point over here. Let's say to snap
it with the edges. This one is looking okay for me. Let's grab my direct
selection tool and let's try to fix this over here. Let me just fix
this one as well. Yeah, So far so good.
It is looking okay for me now we have
to pick a shop done across this point so I can either update this control
handle and centers direction towards
this side or else I can just convert this
spine to a normal point, other smooth anchor point. And to convert it, I can just simply press and hold my Alter Option keys to switch
to the Convert Point tool. And I can click on this
anchor point and it will be converted to a
normal anchor point. Now let's add another
anchor point O here, I can simply press and hold my shift key to get
a straight line. Now look what happens if I just click at this angle point. This is not a normal
anchor point. This is a COVID anchor
point and it will follow a trajectory because this one is a
covalent compounds. So I can set this anchor point to be a smooth anchor
point by simply pressing and holding
oil production key and then clicking on it. Then it will make a
straight line over this. Now my path is looking
almost 0 case. Now let's right-click
make selection. That's it, okay, that's copied by pressing
Control or Command J. But before coping, make sure that this shape
layer is selected. Let's copy Control Command D. Let's place it over
this color fill layer. And let me just unhide
this color fill layer and see it's
looking oh case. And you have to do it for the
rest of the shapes as when. So let me show you how to do
it for this shape as well. But I'm not going
to see anything. We are just going to
watch me doing that work. And that remaining shapes
here are the easy ones. So I think that you all are
able to do it on your own. And let's start with this shape. Watch carefully on
my mouse cursor how it is changing from pen tool to direct selection
tool to Convert Point tool. Watch me carefully. So let's just add anchor point over here. Yeah. So I've just completed apart along the shape,
and let's right-click. Let's choose make selection. Let's hit Okay.
Then let's copy it. Make sure the shape data, select it, copy it. Let's place it on my
color often Leah, and unhide my California and
see, it's looking perfect. So I had just made two selections using my pen
tool and I've shown you how to do this task and I'm leaving rest of
them to you guys, and I hope that all of you
will be able to complete it. So the dead being said, I will see you in
the next video.
18. Quick Mask Mode: Welcome back guys.
In today's lecture, we will learn how to use
Quick Mask Mode in Photoshop. So without any further ado, let's get started all the way to activate the Quick Mask Mode. You can select it. I can form this
two last section. It is the second last option. So click on this
icon here and see that change in the
color which you have selected in
your Layers panel. Red color overlays edit
to this layer and this indicate that this layer is
currently in Quick Mask Mode. And by the way, another
way to activate the Quick Mask mode is simply
passing it a hotkey Q, and this will activate and
deactivate or Quick Mask Mode. Now let's see how to make selections using the
Quick Mask mode. So in its default settings, to make selections
simply first switch to the brush tool by pressing B. Now, in this brush to first
increase my hardness to 100%. Now that black edge
of foreground color, if you paint over your canvas by them in
this Quick Mask Mode, there are only these two colors option which are possible. That is the black
and the white one. So I will show you what's the meaning of black and
wisdom, meaning of vital. So if you paint with
black in your Canvas, then everything
which is covered in this red color overlay will be unselected in your canvas and everything apart from
it will be selected. So if I just exit Quick Mask mode by
pressing the queue hotkey, then see everything that
we have painted over using our brush tool is not
selected in our Canvas. And this is the default
mode of Quick Mask Mode. So if you want, you can make changes
to this default mode. So let me first select this by pressing
Control or Command D. Now, if I double-click
on this icon here, then you can see a
new window here. Now you can make some changes in this Quick Mask mode
using this window. So the first option
here says WB, in which you are going to
walk without Quick Mask mode. So if I just select
it to selected areas, then look what happens. Let me just first test, Okay. Now, if you paint using black
as your foreground color, and then everything that is in this red color overlay will be selected and everything apart from it will
be not selected. So just to press my cue hotkey, then only this region
will be selected. And if you want, you can
use the Quick Mask mode, but this setting or else you can use this
Quick Mask Mode, whether its default settings. So let me just
deselect and let's look at the other
options of l value. So the next thing available
there is the color, and you can select
that color overlay all this quick mass
more than you can change it to any color you want. For example, let's suppose
in some situations, while you are working
with quick mass more the background-color which you want to select
is of the same type. So you have to
change the color of the Quick Mask mode and using
this color picker window, you can change it to any color. Let's suppose green,
Let's hit, Okay, now here you can also search
the opacity of the color. And I think that 50% is just fine for the
Quick Mask mode. So let's hit, okay, now, now see the yellow
relatedness for my Leo. And now if I just paint
using my brush tool, then this color
changes to green. So this is how to change that. Or when you are walking with quick mass more and
most other people don't know about it. And by the way, this
Quick Mask Mode is very underrated tool. But let me tell you one thing. If you are having
no band doublet, then this quick mask mode
is going to help you a lot because to make
any kind of selection, you have to just simply
paint using a brush tool. That painting is
going to be very difficult while you are
working with your mouse. But, but it's going to be very easy if you are working
with your pen tablet. So if you are a tablet user then by heart go Photo
Quick Mask Mode selection. And if you add a
mouse user like me, than simply stay away
from the Quick Mask mode. But distinct doesn't means
that Quick Mask mode is not useful for someone who
is working with mouse. But all in all, there are better selection
methods available, except this Goodman's board for, especially for those
who are working with mouse or not with a pen tablet. So one more important use of the quick mask mode
is totally fine. The selections and
women see how to use Quick Mask more
than real life project, but that's going to be a
topic for another video. I'm going to make a task for you guys after completing
the selection section. And in that video, you have to use all of the techniques and tools that I have taught you in
these two sections. And you have to perform
their tasks using the best selection techniques that you have learned
in this course. So I think this is it for
this Quick Mask Mode video. If you're thinking that
they some more into it, then please comment below, I will make a better
expletive video of this week, mass mode, but
that's it for now. And I will catch you
in the next video where we will end up
Color Range and we will also perform some task based on the coloring.
So see you there.
19. Color Range: Welcome back guys.
In today's lecture, we will work with color
range in Photoshop. And again, this
method of selection works like a charm in a lot of cases and we will discuss them in this video one by one. So without any further
ado, let's get started. All right, this
color range walks in a way similar to
the magic one tool, and it is also going to select the pixels based on their color. So in these three images, I'm going to show you how
to use the color range. And we'll start with this image. So to select anything, make sure for SWOT selected. And after that, go to Select and click on
this color range. Now in this new window, you have this first
option of sample colors. Now if you click on
this drop-down option, then here you can see a list of preset colors like
red, yellows, greens. And in some cases, it might be useful, but I'd rather prefer to
work with the sample below, because sampled color I can sample the colors in the image and the shades of red or any of these colors might
not walk in some cases. So at ANOVA with
assemble colors, now the other three
options here are the highlights,
midtones, and shadows. And you already know
that the highlights are the white areas of
the image midtones, other crazy idea and the
shadows are darker areas. Now this skin tone
options might walk in those cases where you're working with skins and you want to only select the skin of any particular moral
person or something. So I'm not going to show you these methods because you can try them on your
image if you want. But I will rather stick with the sampled color
solid selected. And now before moving further, click on the selection
preview and set it to None. And now we're going to sample
a color from our Canvas. But before that, let
me just first decrease my fuzziness to about 12, 13 and that will be fine. So this fuzziness
is basically same as always as we have
seen in the background. It is a tool and
a magic one tool. And if you haven't
seen those videos, then please go ahead
and watch those. Because this coloring is very similar to the magic one tool. But all in all, this fuzziness is
the acceptable range of selection and we
will increase it gradually as we are going to improve our
selection. So let's start. Now. They have to mask
out this camera from this background so that two
possible inverted you can do, you can add a sample, these black colors and this white and this color over here. And you can select it, or else you can only
select this purple color. And you can invert your selection and even mass
carved the scapula easily. So I'm going to walk
with the second way. And if you want, you can select the colors
in this camera. But that second way is
good because we are only going to sample a
particular shade of purple in this case. So let's begin with this
eyedropper tool selected. Click on any point in
your Canvas first. Now, see in this preview option, I would think that is white is selected and everything that
is black is not selected. So if you want to see
it in your Canvas, then you can say peer selection preview
from none to grayscale. And this is the desert, and it's again switch
back to the name. So now what we're going to do is we're going
to switch to this, add to the selection
eyedropper tool now, but we have to do, we have to add the
sample colors in our canvas so that all the background is
perfectly selected. And let's add this
color as event. Let's add the S1. And after making a more rough selection of
the vague ground, switch our selection
preview to grayscale so that you can perfectly
see your selection. Now, we need to add these
areas to our selection. So let's edit the CSS when
it's add these areas as well. And I guess that's fine. Now let's play with
our fuzziness later. Let's see how selection looks. So let me increase
my fuzziness later. And as I increase it, see the areas in our
selection is decreasing. So I guess so I guess this must 33 issue
values, fine, That's it. Okay. So we have selected
everything except this camera. I think I can improve my
selection or this lower region, but I will do it a bit later. So after selecting it, Let's invert our
selection and two inverted go to
Select and click on this inverse option or
you can use the hierarchy Control Shift I or Command Shift H. So let's
use Control Shift I. Now let's add a layer mask. So we have successfully
added a layer mask. Let's add a solid color
adjustment layer. And let's pick a color. Let's place it
behind this layer. So now we need to refine our selection and we need to
remove this edge fringes. So I'm going to show
you how to do it. And let me first fix
this lower region. So select this layer
mask, not this layer. And after debt holder
oiled or Option key and click on this
layer mask again. Now you will be under this more of your layer
mask now you can, now you can use
the Brush tool to add and remove the areas
from the selection. So grab your brush tool by
pressing B after their genes. The blend mode from normal. To overlay and notice an
important thing here, an overlay blend mode. If you paint white
areas with black color, that it is not going
to be affected. And if you paint black
areas with white color, then it is also not
going to affect it. So I have my black as my
foreground color and just try to paint it over this region then see nothing
happens because, because I am currently
an overlay blend mode. And if I switch this blend mode to normal, then
look what happens. I'm able to paint over it. So this is the
difference between the normal blend mode
and overlay blend mode. And we will talk more about blend modes in the
upcoming sections. So if you want to
know more about it and wait for that section, we need to remove
these areas from our selection so that black as the foreground
color to simply paint over this
region and it will be gone. That's looking fine. So if you just
accidentally go inside, then it is not
willing to be painted the DAG because Vietnam
currently overlay blend mode. And this is a very nice trick. And you should shy
to remember it. And let's, let's fix
the city as well. Now we need to add this
area to our selection. So let's flip out background
and the foreground color. Let's add this area. You can set your flow to 100%. And I guess it's
pretty much done. Now again, President holier oil or Option key and click
on our layer mask. Now you will be under
normal doing mode. Now, we need to remove
that edge, fringes enters, remove the edge friend
is my go-to method is first I'm going to
select this object. So prescient holder
controller command key and click on the
Layer Mask Mandela. After that, go to
Select modify, contact. Let's contacted by,
I guess four pixels. And I've said, okay,
after contacting it yet to invert your
selection and to invert it, simply press Control Shift
I or command ship type. Now see of that
crown is selected. Now zoom-in that select your
layer mask nor do I layer. And we're going to just remove these areas from our selection. So change our blend mode from
normal overlaid to normal. And the black as my
foreground color hit Enter, and black as the
foreground color, the simply paint over
these regions and this and this fringes will
be removed very nicely. See how perfectly it is a
moving from these areas. And I think that you
got the idea of how to remove the fringes
and such cases. So I think that I can leave
it here and let me zoom out. Let me deselect this and see
if we have just perfectly as they move the edge fringes or what these regions and
over here as well, and you can do the
rest by yourself. So this was the first case. Now let's move to the UN alone. Now in this image
we have to mask out these flowers from
the background. If you are going to use your quick selection
tool for bow pose, then it is going to
take you ages to select all these flowers and oil less petals and
leaves properly. But, but via going to do
is let me deselect it. We are going to use
our color angel else we can also use
our magic one tool, but I rather prefer to work
with that color range. So let's go to
Select Color Range. And let's set our
selection to you to none because we need
to sample the colors, decrease our fuzziness slider. And let's choose
sample colors at sample one color
over this region. So in this case also
we are going to select our background and we're going
to invert our selection. So I assembled one color
from my background. Now I have to switch to the add to selection
eyedropper tool. Let's add it. And one more thing
here is that if you want to add more colors
to your selection, but you can do is you
can simply click and drag across your canvas without releasing
your mouse-click. And these, AS will be at the colors will be sampled
from your bed count. So it's looking perfect. I can move it here a bit. Let's switch our selection
preview to grayscale. So yeah, that's looking fine. Now one more thing here
that we can do is we can invert our
selection over here. So I just currently
inverted my selection. And now we can also again play with that
for the NES later. And let's see how
our selection looks. And I guess, and I
guess that this value, my selection looks petty. Ok, select said, Okay, let's mask it out and see how beautiful
our selections look, how beautiful it has
mask out the background. Let me add a solid
color adjustment layer. Click on Go Scala and
place it behind this. And that's very nice. So let's move to
the other image. Now in this image
also we have to mask out the background. And this coloring
is not only going to work with these
types of images, but you can also remove the
Apostles from the background. So let's go to
Select Color Range, and this tool is very easy. In fact, most other selection
techniques and tools, so very easy in Photoshop. And if you just try it
for two to three hours, then you are going
to master them. So let's decrease our
fuzziness slider first. You can also try
these things here. I can select the yellow one and it is going to
select the details, but I don't like this. So let's stick with
our sampled colors. And let's add this color. Move to this add to the
sample eyedropper tool. And let's add these areas. So click and drag to
add to that selection. Now we have just perfectly added these areas
to our selection. And by the way, in
all three cases, I have selected my background
rather than my subject, because in most other cases, your bed current
is only going to contain only about
two to three cases. And if a bad ground
is very busy, then my friend, this
technique is not for you. You shouldn't bet of walk with some other techniques
and your background contains only two
to three colors of different kinds
or differentiates, then this method is
going to work the best. So let's switch our
selection preview from then took the scale
and we can further refine our selection using our brush tool and that overlay
blending mode technique. So let's hit, okay, like meters to mosquitoes. So let's click on this option. Let's add a solid
color adjustment layer, not the gradient. When the solid color,
oops. And kin. We need to pick a color. Yeah, I think there's there's took fine. So that's Pickett. And now we need to remove the
fringes from these regions. No one technique I
have already shown you using that contract matter. And in this case, you might
also use that technique. And especially in the
cases where you have hard, I guess this technique is
going to vote like chump. But in those cases
where there are ten years and not
well-defined edges, then the select and mask
is going to work the best. And I'm definitely going to
talk about the select and mask and just do three
more videos later. So wait for that video. And for now, holistic
without contact method. And I think that by
now you guys are able to refine the selection. So I living the threshold
of work to you. You have this tree PhD attest to this
lecture and you Ben, for the refined this images. Or you can just simply download these images
and walk on your own. So for now, this is
it for this video. In the next video,
we are going to do a task based on
this color range. And let's see how you
guys perform on it. And I will see you
in the next one.
20. Color Range Task: All right, welcome back guys. In a previous video we have seen using the color range
and others quickly wrap up this color range
topic and I have a task for you guys
and it's pretty easy. So, so in this first image, you have to remove
this background sky and replace it with
any sky you want. So let's see how you do it and it's going
to be pretty easy. And if you are having
Photoshop CC 2020, D1 and above them, please don't use the
sky replacement tool because that's not
meant to be done here, you should practice the color
range concept and I will talk more about the
sky replacement and the last part
of this section, but for now, holistic
whether Color Range and let's move to the next one. So in this image, you have to mask or this
model from the background. And it is going to be a good
one for you guys because he has already ten over this region and all
of this one as well. And I think that you have
to also refine the edges. And let's see if you
are not able to do it, then I will show you the
solution for this image. And let's move to the next one. So in this image you have to remove this background
and select this task. Please don't use any
other selection technique except that color range. And one more thing here is dead. I forget to tell you about the
ancient up previous video. So let's see how the range
and color range walks. So let's go to Select,
select Color Range. And let's stick with those here. So all the black areas
in my images selected. And with this highlight, shadow and mid-tones, I can play with the
sliders as when. And if you're working
with sample colors, then the range will be graded. We're good. This one, you're going
to walk with the range. So the range is that range of black or the white is that
it is going to capture. So, so currently as I'm going
to increase my half-inch, everything is going
to select it. And if I just take it to 0, then only those areas which are completely black as
willing to be selected. So this is the vocal
range and let me cancel it because you have to
select it by your own. And I think that the dead, this is it for that color range. And in the next video
we will work with DOD channels as there's going to be very
important as well. So see you there.
21. Channels Selection: Welcome back guys.
In today's lecture, we are going to learn
how to use channels mass for creating
selection in Photoshop. And this old-school method of channel Moscow selection is still very handy
in a lot of cases. And even with the introduction of latest features
like select and mask and improvements in it and some other Photoshop tools
and techniques for selection. Most other photoshop
uses still prefer to use the channel mask
because when everything feels that channels mask might come to your rescue and
gets your job done. So in today's video, we
are going to see how to use it in Photoshop
to get started, switch to this channel
step in the layer section. And if you can't see it, go to Windows and make sure
dysgenesis enabled. Now if you know little
bit about colors, then you already know that
everything that you see in your displays made up
of only three colors, red, green, and blue. And in this channel step, this RGB turtles other
representations of these colors. So this RGB channel
combined a whole, our red, green, blue
and show you the image. And if I just select
only one of them, for example, red, green, blue, then you can see that whites and blacks are
changing in this image. So you might be thinking
that these channels are red, green, and blue, but by
the black and white. Then my friend, this is just a representation
of this color. This is not the actual color. Here. This representation means, for example, in
this blue channel, the more whiter areas are the areas we had a
blue is more applied. And the darker areas are those areas where
the blue is applied. Similarly in this green channel, the more greener areas are the areas where the
green color is more applied and a darker areas are those areas with a green
gullet is less applied. So if I just open my color picker window
to show you this, and if I change that
value for blue color, and if I change it
from 000 to FF, then see my dot and a color picker window changes to the completely blue color. And this is the place where
the blue channel step. And we're going to see that completely white
representation. And you can think of
this representation as the mask representation that we have seen in the
previous video. Where we know that the blackout, those areas which are
not selecting a vita, those areas we just elected. So, so basically in this image we have
to select this grasp and merchandisers
background sky, the sky. So let's see how to do it
using the channels mass. So switch to a channel step. And after that, look
for a channel which has the most contrast
between black and white. So if I just look at
that red channel, then see there is
no good contrast between the black and white. There are more mid tones in this image and we
don't want midtones, so let's switch to
that green channels. And still in this general, so there's not a good contrast between the black and white. And let's switch
to the blue one. And I think that this is much
better as compared to the red and green because we already know that our
sky is blue color. So we can select our sky using this channel step and we
can invert our selection. And we can mascot
our sky using that. After selecting
your channel step, make a copy of it by just
simply right-clicking on it. Just click on this
duplicate gentle, and you can rename
it if you want, but I'm not going to do it. So let's enable this and make sure after enabling
this blue copy, you hide this
original blue layer. And after that, we
are going to increase the contrast between
the black and white. And we are willing to
do it in two methods. So the first one is
using the levels. And in this course I haven't
talked about levels yet, but this is coming in the
next section of this course. So I'm just going to give you
a small introduction about how the levels work and that
will be fine for you guys. So to use levels, simply press Control or Command L. If you are
using a Mac audience, you can go to Image and
adjustments, select Levels. Now in this level, there are three I just mentioned
that you can do. The first one is
for the shadows, does second month it
is for the mid-tones. That third one here is
for the highlights. So the shadows are dark areas. And if you take
your shadows from this left position
towards the Zeitoun, then you're going to make
black things more black girl. And this one is for mid-tones. And it will increase
and decrease the contrast based on a black
and whites in the image. And the third one is for
the highlights there, There's the white areas. So in this image, let's try to make black areas more black. And this is because we already know that we can
easily select our sky. Well while selecting
these grasses. So let's make it, and you have to just play with
these three sliders. The thing about from it. So let's take our
highlight shadow towards the right-hand side. And let me zoom in. So to zoom in simply best
Control or Command Plus. Also you can use your ankles to look at the
edges of your selection. Let me take the slider towards
left-hand side as well. And let's see. And I think that this
motif is looking fine. I can even further refine my selection and
can play with it, but make sure you don't
fry up your edges. You should have a
nice contrast between your edge and a background. And in this case,
it's looking fine. So let me just hit, okay. And now what we are going to do, we're going to just press
and hold our control or command key and click on
this blue color paleo, then everything
will be selected. Now let's move to our
original mixture. Before moving to
our original layer, you just enable this RGB channel and disable this blow copy. You don't need this
blue copy anymore. And if you want,
you can delete it, but I'm just keeping it here. So let's use our layers panel
and select our layer 0. And let's make a mask. Now we have selected
the opposite thing. We have to select our
grass, not the sky. So let's invert our mask by pressing Control or Command I. Now, we can further refine this mask and
you'll find it presser, lawyer, or Alt or Option
key and click on the mask. Now you will be ended this mode. Now, if you are
following this course, then you already know
what we have to do. And by this time, some of you might have
already guessed it. Simply switch to oppress tool, change your blend mode
from normal to overlay. Now, zoom in. Now, simply use your brush tool and you can be into
what these areas, let me set my
foreground color is white and you can just simply
paint over these areas. You can increase your
opacity and flow as well. To paint over these areas. And the great thing about
using overlay blend mode is that overlay blend mode
is going to make black, black and a white more whiter. And it is not going to affect the white areas when you're
painting it with black color. And similarly for a black areas when you're bending
end up bike colors. So this is the mean
and one page of using the overlay blend
mode in such scenarios. So you can take a whole lot of time of yours to
enhance these edges. And I hope that
you might have got the concept by now how to do it. And if we wanted to by heart it, by had it by all means. But you should
remember that you have to practice these
things and you have to know how to end when to use what selection technique and what selection technique is
best for what kind of image. I think that I can
leave it here. I can just simply
import the adult sky. So let me just move
out of this window and to move out assembly class
earlier, older option key. And again click on the mask. Now let's import our
sky to this image. So let's move here. Let me switch to my move tool, that's Thracian hula all. Let's first unlock this layer. Now let's move this image. So placer loader Shift key so that you're going to base it exactly at the center. Let's resize it as well. So let me hit Enter. Let's move it a bit upwards, Let's place it behind. And this is how final
results look like. If you want, you can
enhance these ideas. But for me it's looking or cage and I'm leaving the rest
of them vote for you guys. So I'm going to save it and
upload that PSD file as well. So if you wanted to,
you're going to work on this PSD file to
improve the selection. Or you can download this boat images and
walk on your own. Now let's move to
the next image. So in this image
also we are going to select this trees using our channels and we
are going to replace this white background,
but this back down. And let's see, how
does it look like. So let's move to channel. Let's, let see for
a genus which has the most contrast
between these images. So I guess I think a thread
looks very nice in this case. Or is it clean? Now? Red is looking fine. So, so let me just make a copy
of this red channel by simply right-clicking
on it and select the obligate
China. And let's hit. Okay, let's, let's again use our levels
Control L to enable levels. So let's make dark
things more darker. So let's see. Let me zoom in first so that we don't fly up the
edges of these trees. Let's make it more black. Yeah, that's fine. Let's hit. Okay. Now one thing that we can do here is if you notice
this white background, this white background
has some black on it, and we can remove this
black here as well. So to do it, simply switch
to oppress tool with blend mode set as o allele or you can
simply switches to know, or you can just
simply switch it to normal while walking
with these areas. Let me enlarge my brush shapes. First, let's hit Enter. Let me enlarge my brush
size to this much level. Let's simply paint with white
as the foreground color. And now let's switch our
blend mode from normal. Two OLS so that we
don't go inside these areas and that's simply
paint. Now let's switch. Decrease the size of my brush. Let simply paint
over these regions so that we get a nice selection. Let's work with the edges. So let me just, I guess I can paint it, right. Let me reduce my
opacity to 10 percent. Let me reduce my brush size. Let's see if a painted
with that's looking fine. 30 percent opacity looking fine. We can further refine this edge after adding
the background. So let me just zoom out. Let's make a selection. So press control or command key and click
on this red copy. Let's enable this RGB channel. Disable this red copy. Move to the Layers tab. Let's create a mask
and Walt our mask, invert it by pressing
Control or Command I. Let's add our background image. So let me just take it, use my move tool. Take it over here. Let me hold my shift key. Suddenly is it, Let's
place it handles. And you can see some
add ghosting around this image and you can fix it using your lower lip, then move. So select this mask
and not the layer. After that, use your brush tool and with overlay blend mode. And the black as the
foreground color, simply paint over this regions. And if you want, you can increase the
opacity to a high level. And you can remove these
bright fringes from these areas and that will
be a matter of seconds. Also, I am very zoomed
in to this image, so using this kind of result, and if you'll notice, and if you look at the
original image as well, this image has not
well-defined edges and you are bound to get
this type of result here. So let me just fix these areas over here and I will show you the original image,
how it looks. And I think that you have caught the idea of how to do it. You can either refine your selection in the
Channels tab only or you can refine it after creating a mask out
of your channels. Let me zoom out and I think that this area that I have refined
here is looking fine. So this is how to use that
chance for making selection. You can work with
these areas and remove the fringes from
these areas on your own. But for now, I'm going
to leave this task for you guys and I will catch you
in the next video we are, I will assign you a task can
be used on the channel mask. And let's see how
you perform there.
22. Channels Task: All right, welcome back guys. In a previous video, we
have seen using that Janice mask what that
selection purposes. Now in this video, I'm assigning your task and all you
have to do is you have to first download these two images
attached to this lecture. And after that, you have to
select this grass using the channels mask and place this background with
this background sky. And let's see how you do it. So I'm going to show
you the solution for this task in this video. And if we want to
do it on your own, then please pause this video here and perform it on your own. And if you are not
able to complete it, then come back to this video, see that solution and
hopefully you will have pivot that is r. So let's see
how to do it in Photoshop. All right, So select,
go to channels. Look for a channel which
has the most contrast between the subject
and the background. So I think the blue one
has the most contrast. Let's duplicate it
and let's hit okay? And if you haven't seen in a previous video
of channels mask, then please watch
that video first. And if you are not
going to get anything, if you haven't
watched that video. So I highly recommend
you to watch the video first and come
back to this video later. So let's use our levels to increase the contrast
between the black and whites. So let's take our highlights
a bit towards the left. Let's take our mid-tones. And I think that this
is looking fine, so let's hit okay, now let's see how a selection
looks at this point. So press control or command key and click on the
thumbnail of this blue poppy. And I think this
is looking okay, and now we can mask it out. So let's enable the RGB channel. Let's disable this blue copy. Let's go to layers. Let's create a mask. Let's invert this. So press Control or
Command I to invert it. And let's add our sky so I
have just already selected it. So press Control or Command
a to select everything. That's Control or Command C to copy it. Let's
paste it here. And by the way, if you're
following me on this course, then you are already getting
what I am doing in this. Thanks. So I have just used
my free transform tool. And if you don't know
about these basics, then please watch the
basics of the Photoshop first and come back
to this video data. Solar space behind this layer. And now you can see this white
fringes that this grass, and you can easily remove
it using our brush tool. So all you have to do
is you have to select your mask and not the layer. And then more as overlay, let us zoom in and
I'm going to show you for only one grass 10, and lest you can
do it on your own. So with black as the
foreground color, simply to what these regions
from VIA you want to remove the white fringes and look how nicely it is going
away from our image. And if you want, you can increase and decrease
the opacity. But I think that 50% is
looking fine for this image. So let me just do it
a little bit more. Let me zoom out. And I think that does grasses
looking occasional. If you want to fix
the rest of them, then you can download this PSD and work on
the rest of them. And the ad that said
for this video, I will see you in the next
video where we're going to learn that select and
mask. So see you there.
23. Select And Mask: All right, welcome back guys. So now the time has
come to show them most advanced selection
technique of Photoshop, that is the select and mask. And trust me guys, the
selection technique is going to blow your mind because
deception techniques already comes with most
other useful selection tools like the Quick Selection Tool, the lasso tool,
even the brush tool and along the debt it has also the select subject
feature that we find here for each of which
we haven't seen till now. And some global refinement, which is going to help you a lot by refining your selection. And we are going to see how
to use them in this video. So without any further
ado, let's get started. So to get started, switch to any of your selection
tool, like in this case, I'm going to switch to
my Quick Selection Tool and in this options, well, you're going to see an
option of select and mask. You simply click on it. And now everything is
transparent and viruses. So because we haven't selected
editing in our Canvas and to see something in this Canvas already all we
have to select something. So to select in our Canvas, we can either use the select subject feature or we can use our
selection tools. The first tool headstock
weak selection tool. The second one here is the
Refine Edge brush tool. And I'm not going to talk about this Refine Edge Brush
Tool in this video because in the next
video we are going to master the hair selections. So we're going to look at this Refine Edge Brush
tool in the next video. And the third tool here
is the brush tool, the photon here is
the objects lecture. The fifth one hears
the Lasso tool, and if you right-click
go in here, then you will see that
last two and up polygonal lasso tool embedded in it. The fifth, sixth 1 other hand tool and zoom tool as obvious. So either you can use your quick selection tool
to select your subject, or you can just simply click on this select subject feature. And Photoshop will automatically select your subject in
this window for you. So we have selected our subject using the
select subject fetal. And now let me show you how
this Quick Selection Tool, brush tool walk in
this window here also, if I just grab my brush tool. Now, this brush tool here, it just like the brush tool, you're working with your mask. So if you are having this plus
symbol in your brush tool, then you are going
to paint your mask with white as the
foreground color. So if you paint with white
as the foreground color, I'm going to unhide the pixels. And if you just present
ruler alter option key, then this minus symbol will
show you in this brush tool. So if you paint with black
as the foreground color, this minus symbol actually means the foreground color is black and you paint it with black, then you are going to
a highly of pixels. So this is just like
the mask window. After the brush tool, you can also use your
quick selection tool. So let me increase the size
of my brush over here. Now you can just simply add
something to your selection, or you can press and
hold Alt or Option key to remove something
from your selection. All like let me just undo. Now or this right side here
you can see some view modes. Now if you click on
this Add option here, then there are some numerous
view modes available. The first one is
the audience gain. And what this audience
can basically do is, so let me show you by changing their
transparency of my layer. So if I just decrease
my transparency to 0, then you are going to see
my background in this case. And as I'm going to
increase my transparency, then the background
is going to be hidden because not only
thing which is going to be visible in this onion skin is the area which I have selected using the select
subject feature. So let me just take it to 100%. The next view mode here
is the matching ends, but not more important
view modes together, I preferably uses the 0011. So in this 0011, you're going to
see some color as the area which you
have not selected. So in this case, the color of what that
area is red and you can choose your type of
color which you want. So let me just hit Cancel. Now if I just turn
down my opacity to 0, then the ground is completely visible because I haven't
selected my background. So if I just increased
my opacity to 100%, then my background
with the completely covered with a red color. And this overlay
view mode is going to help you in a lot
of selection cases. So I'll try also to walk with
this overlay blend mode. Now the next one here, on black, on white. On black and white, you are going to simply a seed those areas which
are not selected as the black one and into
white when the third one, the fourth one here
is the marching ends and this matching, it is going to show
you the selected areas in your Canvas. Fifth one here is
the black and white. And this black and white
feature represents the ADI which has selected and the areas which
are not selected. So in this case, violet
represent the area which is selected and the black represent the areas which
are not selected. So this is the black and whites. And this only option is going to help you
if you are having some bad grown image behind the subject which
you want to select. So let me just skip this
only of ETO for now. Let me just choose the
on black view mode and let's decrease the
transparency a bit. And as you can see, this area is selected
in our Canvas, so we are going to remove
it using our brush tool. So just decrease the size
of your best press and hold the Alt or Option key and
simply paint over this region. Let me just use my
select budgets to use my Quick Selection tool to
refine this AD over here. Yeah, that's looking fine. Now, after that view mode, you have the options of edge detection and a
global refinements. But before using these options, make sure that you have selected
your subject perfectly. And this is because this global refinement
and the edge detection Peter is going to stress
out your machine. Oh Lord, so make sure that everything is
selected properly. And I'm going to define
this ideal where you're using my Quick
Selection Tool. So let me just decrease
my opacity a bit and let's add this area
to my selection. And if quick selection
tool is not going to walk and then simply
switch to the brush tool. You can use the hotkey be
to switch to my brush tool. And let me increase my opacity. Yeah, that's looking a bit nice. Don't worry about the
edges we are going to fix our ideas on. So now my guess that everything
is selected properly. So now we can use our edge detection and a
global refinement vitro. So let me just zoom out a bit so that you can
see it properly. You can use your Zed key
to zoom in and zoom out and you can use
your Spacebar key to switch to the hand tool. So these are the shortcuts
that you already know. Now in this edge
detection option, the Photoshop is going to detect the edge of
your selection. So to show you how this as
detection feature book, let me just switch to my
Refine Edge brush tool and click on this
show edge feature. Now, let me just zoom out and let me just increase
my radius a bit. So now you can see some
edges on this subject. So Photoshop is trying to detect the edges of my subjects. So this radius is going to increase and detect the edges and this will be added
to my selection. So if I just turn off
this edge feature now, then look at the
edges over here. So after I've done it on and if I just turn it
off and languages decrease dot radius
a bit and see how the edges changing as I'm increasing and decreasing
the radius of my selection. And don't. But in
some cases this is going to test out your machine. Now the next option here
is the Smart Radius. And in this smart radius, let me just switch to
this so as feature. So if you just use your
radius option here, then Photoshop is
going to evenly add the radius to all of
the regions over here. So you can see that the VDS is even in all of the regions, but it was just done on
this smart radius option. Then Photoshop is automatically going to check all of the edges. And those edges we
just mood and hard. They'll have a small
radius and those which are having some rough edges
had the larger areas. So you can clearly see
this area over here has, has largely areas and this one over here has smaller radius. So let me just decrease
my radius to 0 pixels. And Smart Radius turned off because I don't
need the radius. And mostly most of
the people during the use this as your
date action video. But vials electron enough hears this is going
to help you a lot. And definitely we
are not going to automatically that Photoshop
select towel here. We're going to use the
Refine Edge Brush Tool. And I don't know why I'm getting more and more into
selection Sophia, the topic for the next video. So let's keep it aside and let's look at our global
refinement features. So let me zoom out and let's zoom into
this portion over here. So if you look at this portion, we have to refine this area
we have so we can refine it. We can smooth out this
mode feature is going to smooth the edge
of the selection. So let me just increase my
smooth feature to 100 and now look at my edge weight for some time so that it can
perform the activity. And you'll see that my ideas
are known as maternal lot. So this is the
work of smooth and let Vida you are going to
blow your edges a little bit. So that may apply of the
little bit Z0 by nine pixels. Is it going to be
enough? I think so. Yeah. As it applies, I don't know. A machine is accessing a lot. Yeah, that's looking fine. My edges here of
various mutants, so let me decrease my smooth
to about third piece. That will be fine. Now the next one here is the contrast and how
this contest will. Let me show you by
switching my view mode from that to black and white. And in this, if I just
increase my contrast to, let's say 100% and
look at these edges, how hard these edges has become. Hoss moved this edges
has become after increasing my contrast
to a 100 percent. So this basically increases the contrast between the black
and whites in the image. The black and whites, I mean, the ideas we just selected and the areas which
are not selected. So let's decrease it again to
0 and switch back to black. And let's increase our contrast so that our edge looks fine. I guess something like this. Yeah, see our edges looking
very nice over this agent. Now the Shift Edge
feature is going to add some edge to your selection or remove some edge
from the selection. So if I just take this shift edge feature
towards the right-hand side, then it is going to add
some areas to my selection and see how the AES is added
to my selection over hill. And it will just take it towards left and then it is going to eat up the a which
I already have. If you are able to notice it, then see my selection has
got a little bit in words. So this basically global
refinements feature is helpful in finding thus
edges of your selection. So I think that I
need to increase the Shift Edge fetal about third base in this
case so that I can have all of my edits
selected properly. And yeah, now I can see my
edges are looking nice. And if you want to remove
this from the selection, and then the one thing that you can do is you
can either take away us, shift edge to some negative
value like minus 20s or 30s, then seen the
fringes are gone or else what you can do is you
can select your subject, you can contract your selection, and after that you can
paint debate those fringes. And we have already seen this mattered in
a previous video. And if you haven't seen
those videos there, then please go and check
those reviews as well. So these are the global
refinement features and let me just zoom out. Now after defining
our selection, we are going to output it, but before outputting it, you have an option of
decontaminate colors. And this decontaminate colors is going to fix the
color of your edges. And we will see how this decontaminate Kellogg
walks in the next video. But for now, just simply switch the output your selection
as a layer mask and hit. Okay, now we have selected our first image using
the Select and Mask. Now let's move to that one and we will wrap
up this lecture. So let me just fed
it to my canvas. Let's go to Select and Mask. Let's use our switch to
this Quick Selection Tool. Let's use our Select Subject features so that everything
is going to be selected. And let's zoom in. Let's change our view from our, let's decrease that
transparency so that we can see the back ground and
this is looking fine. I think that we can
refine this area. Let me switch to on black. That's looking fine.
No problem with that. Our selection is pretty perfect. And if you are on Photoshop
CC two and D2 and D1, then this Select Subject
feature has improved a lot and you can see
that result by your cell. But hope of equity, it has
selected the heroes and all of the edges in this image. So let me just increase
the transparency to 100%. And let's switch to on leg. And let's refine our
selection a little bit. I think that we need to
take away a little bit of fringes and we need to smooth
out these edges over here. So we are not going to do
that here in this video, but we're going to
fix these edges. So use your global
refinements as mucho edges a little bit
feathered your ideas, basically blood outer
edges a little bit. So about 10 pixels is
going to be enough. Let's increase our
contrast a little bit. And if you want, you can shift your edge
towards the left-hand side. So if there is any
fringe and your mAs, then that will be gone. And it's looking
very nice nouns. So yeah, that is all mode. And this is our final selection. And in just couple of seconds, we have selected and refine our selection
using the selected mask. So hit Okay, But
before hitting Okay, Make sure this output is
selected to Leah mass or you can also select it as a
new layer with layer mask, but I prefer to select
it with the lemmas. So let's hit, Okay, so that we have selected two images using the
select and mask we saw. In the next video, we
are going to see how to make one of the most
difficult selections. That is selecting
hills and voltage up in just a matter of seconds. And yeah, see you
in the next video.
24. Hair selection: All right, so now we have these double discretion to a point where we can talk about selection appears in Photoshop saying that previous video
we have learned that Select and Mask feature and
using the DVR going to select the heroes as well
as the body of this model. Very precisely. And we're going to replace this bag ground, that this background, and
here's our final reserves. So without any further ado, let's see how to do
it in Photoshop. So to get started, open this select
A1 dot JPEG image attached to a lecture
and make sure you are on any of your selection
tools and this Options bar click on this
selected mask window. And now make sure you are on the Quick Selection Tool and click on this select subject so that Photoshop get automatically analyze damage and select this object for you. Now after this is done, but we are going to do is
they're going to first select the body of
this model in vanilla. And we're going to select
the heroes in the Anatolia. So in the body we're going to use the global refining features like this mood Federal
and the contrast and the radius as well. If it is going to walk and in the heels we're going to use
the Refine Edge brush tool. So let's start by selecting
the body of the model. And let me just zoom in and
let's see that everything is selected precisely on north. So, so if I just
look over this area, then you can see that this
area is not selected properly. So I can just define
it using my brush tool or you can also use the
object selection tool. So, and we'll just quickly to reduce the
size of my brush. Let's hold the Alt or Option key and let's just
remove these areas. All right, so let me just have a look at all the
other edges and yeah, I guess I think that
everything is looking fine. So let me just change my
view more from audience came to on black
so that I can have a better look at my image. And let's see. However, as detection is
going to walk in this case. So let me just zoom in
or what this region. And let's try to
increase the radius. And let's see the deserts. See out of our edges became a wet this area here,
this is a mean. These invite. I skipped that EDS option in
most other cases. So let's keep it at 0 and we are only going to work with
the global refinements. So let me just increase the
mood to about 20, 30 SSH. And let's increase the
federal little bit about 0.67 pixels or something. And let's increase
our contrast as well. So we have all day
talking about this mood, Ferdinando contrast
in a previous video, if you want to
know about it more than peace was the
previous video first. And now let's remove
this fringes by taking our edge towards
negative value. So let's take the Shift Edge and let's take it to about
minus 20 or minus 13. And I guess that this
is looking fine. So let me just zoom out. And yeah, let's output this, output it as a layer mask
and let's hit, okay. So they are just
perfectly created a mask for our body
and we are going to remove these hills which are not perfectly
selected in this case. So we are going to do now is let's just create a
copy of this layer by pressing Control or Command G. And let's name this
layer as body. And let's call
this layer S here. So in this, select
this layer mask, the layer and right-click on it and click Delete Layer Mask. After that, let's hide this
Healy of all movement. Let's add a solid color
adjustment layer. So let me think that I
guess black will be fine. So up to there, Let's
place it behind this body, Leah and now select
the body layer mask. Not actually. And now we're going to remove this excess hears that
we have selected. There it is, this tree here. So grab your brush
tool by pressing B. And with black as the
foreground color, you can just increase
your opacity all the way up to 100% and flow
to 100% as well. And simply paint
over a dx is area. So let me just quickly do it. Alright, now once this is done in a well your
Helios and such till Quick Selection Tool
or any selection tool and enter the
selected mask window. Now we are going to use the Quick Selection tool to
select those excess tails. So decrease your transparency so that you can see
that background layer. Now, simply use your
quick selection tool to select these areas. There it is, this tree is. And we will further refine
it after this is done. And you're going to also
select the head of the model. That's not a problem for us. All right, so let's
change our view more from audience can to on black and C. This is our selected area. I can just simply decrease
my transparency and now I can remove the excess
areas that I have selected. So being on my quick
selection tool, I can increase the
size of my brush. I can press and hold
the Alt or Option key. And I can simply just paint away these x's areas that
I have selected. And let me just
quickly finish it up. Also you can use the Brush tool to remove these areas as well. So simply grab your brush tool, press the Alt or Option key, and simply just being the way to the moon these areas
from the selection. All right, so now
once this is done, you can use this defined here
option in the Options bar, the certifying hit Options
sometimes walk very well and some time it
produces the results. So you can try this option. So let me just hit
it and let's see the result. How we produce. And yeah, I guess that this has produced a very nice results in these years if you
can see them properly. And this is the excess
areas that this has edit. So I can just simply
move it using the brush tool and accept that everything
is looking fine. So let me just quickly remove this area
using my brush tool. Now once this is done, you can use the Refine Edge
brush tool to look for years and you can refine those
areas which contains here. So let me just switch my, so let's use it and
let me zoom in. And let's start from this area. So such TOO Refine
Edge brush tool and simply paint in these areas. And let me see the result. See how it has added these
areas in this region and you can further add some areas
also using the brush tool. So let me just again
switch to my brush tool and let's add back these areas. And let's continue with our Refine Edge Brush
Tool in these areas. And simply create edge for your selections so that Photoshop
can look in these areas and add some hears according
to the background. Now once this is done, you can also use this
Refine Edge Brush Tool in these inside areas
which contain white in it. It will analyze that
here as well as double background and it
will remove that background. So let me just try using this Refine Edge brush
tool and in this area, and let's look at that as l, see how precisely it has removed that background
in this area. And let's look at that as
I turn this area as well. See it's locking very
nice in these areas. I can also walk
within these areas. Don't vary. We have
when to further refine our heroes after exiting
this Select and Mask window. But for now, just simply
select the hands properly. And I guess that we have just finished the 90% of all a job. And let me just quickly
remove this area and let's exit from the selected
mask window OSU, grab the brush tool and
simply paint over this area. I don't know why it is getting selected again and
again in my selection. It's really annoying. Now before hitting the AACU, but then you have an option
of decontaminate colors. So if you click on this
contaminate color, Photoshop is going
to automatically Canada edge of the
hairs in this case. So see the result. It has automatically colored
edge for our heroes. So before using their decontaminate
colors, is that is it. And after using it,
is that is that. And I guess this is
looking a bit okay. I can just simply to reduce
the amount to about 16. I guess that this is looking
fine so I can read out, go on with this
decontaminate colors, or just simply uncheck
this decontaminate colors. I'm going to show you an option better than this
decontaminate colors, this, and take this
decontaminate colors and make sure you are
outputting to a layer mask. And let's hit okay. So here is our selection, and let's remove this color fill layer and let's add
our background. So make sure this
background layer and lump simply press
Control or Command C to copy that Control or
Command V to paste. And let's place IT band is. And let me just crop
out this excess pixels. So such tool, Crop tool and simply crop of it
these excess areas. Now, there are some scenarios
after using the select and mask that the area
is not selected properly or it is transparent. So you can add back those ideas by using
your brush tools L. Let me just have a look at my selection and it
is looking very nice. So let me just press Control
or Command D to deselect. Now after that we are
going to create a newly and we're going
to clip this layer to our helios to press and hold
the Alt or Option key and simply click on this line between the hair layer
and the layer two. Now this is Calypso. Any
change we're going to apply to this layer two is
only going to be limited to the earlier. Now after that, we
are going to use our brush tool to paint
in this x is outside. Simply grab your brush tool and take a sample from the heel. So to grab a sample, simply press and hold the Alt
or Option key and click to sample and simply
paint in these areas. You can do this thing for the
rest of the edges as well. So let me just
quickly finish it up. You can turn down
the opacity as well. So let's turn it down
to 70 something. Now there is a problem here. If you notice on the
hairs in this area, some of the hairs are
not selective globally, or I may see that Marcia has an electric properly and most
of the hairs are done. So to fix this, you
can simply load your selection and
to load it and press control or command
key and click on the Layer Mask of helium. And now what you can do is you can simply switch
to your brush tool and select the layer
mask of the heat. And with white as the
foreground color, you can simply paint
in these areas. Just simply increase
the opacity up here in this region
like this, like so. Now once you are done with it, you can continue by painting using your best tool in
the layer to select me, just finish it up quickly
so we can move to our next method of
fixing these years. And I guess that this
match is looking fine. So here is that a jury before refining the heels
using the brush tool, and here's the result after defining it using
the brush tool and see how drastically it has
changed the head of our years. So this is looking
very nice now. Now we can add another layer and we can also similarly
pipette to the Helio. And now we can use
the Clone Stamp tool. And I haven't talked about the clone stamp tool
yet in this course, but don't let you get
only going to scratch itself is so select
the Clone Stamp Tool. It will be just right
below the brush tool. You can also press the
Esc key to activate the clone stamp tool
and in this options, but I'll make sure it is
aligned option is unchecked and the sample is set
as current and below. After that. But we
are going to do is we're going to bet some areas. So let me just see what
area that I can pet. So this area over here
is not looking fine. So I can simply take a sample from this region and I can
simply patch it over here. So to take a sample, simply pass a law and you're worried or Option key and take a sample and simply
pet in these areas. Similarly, you can take a sample from L and you can patch it. Now, there is a problem
in this region over here. I wanted to fix this area, just try to take a sample. And if I just want to pin
in this area, then look, this is not producing
any desserts, so, but I have to
do whatever it is. I see this area is not
selected properly. So to fix it, I can either just
create a new layer and I can just simply
clone it or else I can simply select my hair layer
and after that I can use my brush tool to paint
back in this area. So let's use our brush tool
and let's paint in this area. So simply tap twice points
and the RBI done with it. So I guess that this much, of course stamp tool
is 0 case for it. So here's the result before
using the clone stamp tool, and here's the result after
using the clone stamp tool. And I guess that by
this point over here, is it looking nice? So what I can do now is I can simply disable
this layer one. And now what I can do
is I can simply zoom in really very close and I can select the layer
mass of my hill. And after that, I can use the Brush tool and with black
as my foreground color, I can simply pinned bit these X's edge ghosting that
is present in the heels. So you can do it on your own. You can just spend
a whole lot of time of yours to
fix these areas. You can also pay it back
some II as yet unknown, selected properly using
the paintbrush tool. And so this is our initial image and this is after removing
the background. And I think that
for an image which contains a very busy background, a lot of CEOs and a
lot of color casting. This kind of selection
is very nice and we have this done it and just
stuff couple of minutes. And there are a lot of selection techniques
also available for, but for me, the selection
technique is best. And using this technique you can select almost all kinds of here. And also you can further
refine your selection. You can select the
layer mask of Dahlia. You can pin W the excess areas that are
selected or you can just paint back the areas which
you require in the hairs. And that's it for this video, I will catch you
in the next video we're going to do a task
based on the selection of a.
25. Hair Selection Task: All right, welcome
back. Membranes. In that previous
video, I have used a Select and Mask feature to precisely select
the heel as well as the body of the model and
a half for that refined the heels using the brush tool
and the Clone Stamp tool. And in this video you have to perform this task on your own. So all you have to do
is you have to force downward these weird images are Destiel lecture and
after that in this first he has Selection Task
1 dot JPEG image. You have to select this
modal NLL is precisely and you have good to place the bag ground with this background. And for that you have
to define the US using all those techniques that I have shown you in the previous video. And in this second image
also you have to perform that similar tasks and replace the background, this image. So if you wanted to do it now, then you can stop
this video here. Audience, you can
sit back, relax, and do some music and
watch me doing the walk. Okay. Hello? Yeah. Yes. Hi. Okay. Hi. Okay. The two to the third. Hi. Okay. Okay. Hello. Okay. Okay.
26. Select Focus Area: So by this time we have
covered pretty much everything we need to know
about selections in Photoshop, except some of the few things that you're really going to use, like the Select Focus Area. But still it is dead in Photoshop and it might
be worth knowing it. So without any further ado, let's use the Select
Focus Area in Photoshop. So but this focus area, we can make selections based on the in-focus AD off enemies. For example, in this image, this hand and this
AI-based over here is in-focus in the
second image also, this flowers is in focus
and the background is blue. And the third image also, uh, we have our subject very defined and the
background is blurred. And you might also have these
kinds of images of your, and you can easily select them using the Select Focus ADR. So one thing that I want to tell you here is that
everything that you are going to do with deselect
focus area you can also do with Select Subject and the
Select and Mask option. But I don't know why this we just still exists in Photoshop. It is just auditing then with the presence of Select Subject and then Select
and Mask feature. But still it's there and
let's see how to use it. So to get started, click on the Select option in the application bar and click
on the Select Focus Asia. So wait for some time
so that Photoshop can use its algorithm to
select this object. And, and yeah, it hasn't made the selection of
this focus area. So in this pop-up window
here you have this option of view and we have already see this view modes in the
selected mask we go. So if you haven't
seen that video yet, then please watch the
video first so you can change your view
mode from marching ends. And this matching end
is going to show you the selected areas
to overlay on black, on white, like invade
and all those sucks. So for me, Let's look at so I think that the matching end is
looking fine in this case. So after that, we
have the options of in-focus range and in this advocacy and I highly advise you to
keep these things, edits auto settings,
so you keep this in-focus range Edwardo and this image noise
level Ed or do SVN, because this thing's works
best with the auto settings. And you can further
define your settings by going to the Select
and Mask window, all by the help of the Quick
Selection Tool window here. So you can use the
Quick Selection Tool, Hand tool and the Zoom
do it in this window. Also. Now, you can
enable this option of a soft bend it and it is
going to soften your edges. And after that you can simply go to the
selected mask window. And now you can further
refine your selection. You can add the
areas which are not selected properly
using the brush tool, other big selection tool
like I'm doing in this case. And you can make some
global refinements. You can increase the
smooth Feather contrast, or you can also use that option if you want some
extra e to be selected. And you can simply choose your output to our selection
or do a Layer Mask. And let's hit okay. So by this, you can make a selection using
this focus area. And let's look at the
other two images also. So in this image also go
to Select Focus Area, not the Color Range. Select focus Area and
read for some time. And yeah, it has selected that
IAS, which I didn't focus. And we can further refine
these areas which are not selected properly
in this window only. So use the object
selection tool to add these areas
to the selection. Or you can remove these areas
also may draw x. Does so. Use your quick selection tool. And I'm not going to do it
all in this video because we already know how to use the object selection tool and all the selected mask features. So There's simply hit Okay, or you can also select
the output to as our layer mask or
a new layer with the layer mask in this renewal. So, so let's say as a layer
mask and let's hit okay, So this is all what we need to know about the
Select Focus Area. This is nothing much magical
that we're learning. It is everything that we
have learned previously. The Quick Selection Tool, selected mask window,
select subject, we have already learned it. So in this image also you can select it using the
Select Subject reach o. So if you hit the Select
Subject to each other, it will take some time and
it will select this object. So let's look at the result of the select subject feature. So here's the result of the select subject to
each other in this case. And let me de-select and let's look at
the result of that. So this is that is edata
Select Focus Area. And if you ask me then for me the select subject feature is better than this
Select Focus Area. But I don't know, buys some be busted leg this focus area. But if you like it, you can
go ahead with this one or you can stick to the Select Subject and that's electron
mass of each. And I think for now this
is it for this video. In the next video,
we're going to do a very interesting
thing in Photoshop. We're going to replace this guy in just a
matter of seconds. So I will see you there.
27. Sky Replacement: All right, welcome back guys. So the ADA protein towards the end of the
selection section. And in this video we
are going to look at a very interesting
automatic feature Photoshop that is
Sky Replacement. And in one single words, this tool is a lifesaver
because before the introduction of the
sky replacement tool and in order to replace any sky, we have to select the sky for us to be able to further
refine the selection. We have to choose an
image of what a sky, and we have to further
refine it using the a brush tool and
all the techniques. And we have to further make it more natural using the
adjustment layers. And it's a whole lot of book. So using this Sky
Replacement dual, you can do all these things
in just a matter of seconds. And I'm going to show you how so without any further
ado, let's get started. All right. If you are in
Photoshop CC 2020 van and above, then it
is well and good. But if you are using
the previous versions of Photoshop, then methane, it is time for you to
update because the sky, the placement tool is only
present in the new ocean. So Photoshop, so
hoping that you are on the latest version of
Photoshop, Let's get started. So before getting started, look at that image and
examine the shadows. So in this image, if you look
at the man standing here, thus share knowledge
towards the side. So that this, I
can conclude that the sun is present just in
the front of decibel link. So I have to look on
the sky which matches the lighting condition
on this image. So to use this guide,
the placement tool, go to Edit and click on the
sky the placement option and wait for some time so that Photoshop
candidate the sky. And yeah, it does it replace
this guy with this one? So you have an option of
preloaded sky is here. You have three for
loops off skies, you have the sunset scenes. And you already know that this
is not a sunset they made, so that's entered skies
are not going to walk. The spectacular ones also contains a lot of shadows in it. Like this guy over here, it has a lot of shadows, so it is not going to walk. So now we have only left
with this blue sky. And if you don't find our desired sky in
the blue skies also, you can for the imported by
clicking on this option, you can look at the three
websites like unsplash.com and look for some great skies that it's going to block
in this condition. And let me see what this
guy is going to walk. The swim that this guy
might walk in decimate. So let me just go
with this guy and, and I think that this
is looking fine. We have to further refine some areas much
that's not a problem. I only want to show you
how this is going to work. So after that you
have an option of shift debt and basically the shift edge is going to expand or contract
your selection. So it is going to expand the
skies beyond the foreground, is going to contact the sky. So if I just take the
shift edge towards the right-hand side
and it is going to eat up the
foreground as well. And if I just take it
towards negative values, then it is going to remove
the skies and it is going to, it is the sky areas. So I just keep it at 0. I think that that will be fine. After that you have an option
of fit and we will talk about this field option
just a moment later, but for now, just skip it. Now after that, if you
have the options of brightness and that
temperature and using it, you can increase and decrease
the brightness of the sky. So just increase
the brightness for this immediate thing that this measure brightness
is looking fine. And you can also increase
the temperature. I think that minus
two Ls looking fine, you can always uncheck our check this preview option
to look at them before and after of the result. And let's keep it at six. And after that, you have
the options of scale. So using it, you
can scale your sky, you can increase the
size of the clouds. You can increase it down. But let's just keep it to 100. Now, you have the options
of flip this guy. So this option is going to
horizontally flip desk. So horizontally flipped
version of the sky. So let me just integrate because this is
not looking fine. Now after that, you have the foreground are
different options. You can tease that lighting
more of the foreground there. There's this ADR, which I
had not included in the sky. So you can change it from
multiply it to screen. And I think that
multiplies looking fine. After that, you can also use the lighting edition and
the colors are strange. You can increase the lightings, you can manipulate
with the colors. But these sliders over
here that only going to produce some subtle
changes and amine gene, these are only made by these
ladies, are rarely seen. And also you have the
options of Henkel zoom tool and the brush tool if you want to fix some areas. But for a moment, let's
just skip it and let it. Okay, So after that, Photoshop is going to create
a folder of Sky Replacement. And in this formula, you have this foreground
lighting and the color and the sky and
the layer mask of the sky, brightness adjustment layer and the temperature
adjustment layer also. Now if you just press
and hold Alt or Option key and click on
the Layer Mask of the sky, then you will be an
additional layer mask window. Here, if you look at the edges of the foreground and now sky, then see this just contain
a bit black in it. And this is because
we have set our field S21 a 100 percent and this is the result
of that per unit. And if you just keep it at DDL, then on this whole way that will be covered
in these areas also. So if you wanted to find some
areas in your selection, you can simply use
your brush tool. You can change up then
more to overlay and you can just simply
paint using it like so. And you can find your selection. But for this image
it is looking fine. So let me just exit this warm. So press and hold the
Alt or Option key and again click on this
layer mask after that, if you have the brightness and the temperature control
adjustment layer. So if you don't
like the brightness in the image and if
you want to change it, then you can just simply
double-click on this option. And after that, you can
increase and decrease the brightness
according to your knee. And you're going to also
increase the contrast also. You can also play with
that temperatures. For me, this is looking fine. Also you have also you can
add your own additionally, for instance, let me just delete this brightness
adjustment layer. And let's add our own
brightness adjustment layer. So click on this
option and click on this brightness
contrast and clipping the desk suppressant
hold the Alt or Option key and click on
this line between these two layers to be clamped. After that, you can play with
the brightness sliders and increase and decrease the
brightness of the sky like so. Now once you are done
with all of this, you can simply
export your image. And this is all we
need to know about the Sky Replacement
Boolean Photoshop. And with that, I will
stop this video here.
28. Activity Master Selection: So finally we have made it. This is the last video of
the selection section. And first of all, I would like
to give you a big round of applause for making it
all the way to the end. Not many people are able to get this achievement in
an online course and you are really especially person and you really mean a lot to me. So getting straight
into that point, this is the most important
video of this entire section. And in this video, we
are going to mastered all the tools and techniques that we have learned previously. We're going to see
which selection tool or technique is suitable
best for an M8. We are going to see that
properties based on which we can extract the subject
from the background, whether it is the brightness, whether it is contrast
or whether it is color, and we will know it. And I will request you to not skip any part of this video. So with that being said,
let's get started. All right, so this is going
to be an activity-based video and basically we are going
to discuss with selection, technique is best
suitable for the image. And starting with
this first image. If you analyze this
image carefully, we can perform 23
types of selection. First, we can replace
the sky of this image. And we have already seen
in the previous video, we have used a sky
replacement tool of Photoshop CC 2020
when and By far, the sky replacement
bools works best. And let me show you that as out of the
sky replacement bool, so it for some time and see
how brilliantly it has it, uh, move this guy over
this area as well. And if you don't want to use
the Sky Replacement dual, I don't know why you don't want be used a sky replacement. Maybe you are walking with some older versions of Photoshop. Then you have to
analyze your image. And what do you have to analyze
is the area that you want to select and the areas which you don't want
in your selection. So in this image, I want this guy and I don't want these green areas and
this green tree as well. So basically there's
a color difference between the sky and
trees and grasses. So based on this, I can use the Select Color Range or I can go with that
gentle selection. And we have already seen all of these things in the
previous video. So if you haven't seen
those videos yet, please go ahead and
watch those videos first and then come back
later to this video. Now suppose instead of replacing
the sky and we wanted to select this tree and we want to place it on some
and Adobe grown. Then we have to first
analyze this image. So let me zoom in
and let's look at the leaves of this image
so you can clearly see that these areas are very grainy and they are
highly pixelated and they really contains a lot of small
portions of selection. So our artificial intelligence
collection tools like the Quick Selection
objects selection or the select subject is not going to work perfectly
in this case. So we have to look for something that will distinguish between the subject and the background, which we are willing to select. So in this case, our subject and the
background sky. So this guy has blue
and white color, and this tree is
clearly green in color. So clearly there is
a color difference between the background
and the subject. So we can easily go with
the Select Color Range, or we can use the
channel selection. And I have already done it
using the channel selection. So I have just looked at all of the channels and I found that the blue has the most contrast between the subject
and the background. And after that, I had just created a copy of the
blue channel and I have increased the contrast for
them or using the levels. And after that, I have used my brush tool and I
have just painted all the areas which I don't want all my selection or I want in my selection
with white color. So currently I have
selected everything except this d. So after
making the selection, I can simply invert my selection and I can further refine the selection using
my brush tool. So here's the final results. See how perfectly I
have selected that three and I have removed
it from the background. So this image basically
shows us that if there's a color difference between the subject
and the background, then we can go with
that Select Color Range and the channels also. But if there is our chances of Select Subject and the Quick Selection Tool
to walk better than it. You can go with their tools
because they are much faster as compared to the
channels and the color range. But with all that said, let's move to the next image. All right, so in this
image days this object, and this object is a
person and we can easily selected using the
select subject or the Quick Selection Tool. And let me just hit it so that we can see that
selection and everytime bases subject in your image just blindly go with the
select subject feature and we have the option
of select and mask and we can further refine
it using the selected mask. But let me just zoom
in and let's look at areas of our selection. So everything here looks
fine instead of this area. So these smaller videos,
you don't want to, to find it using the
Quick Selection Tool. And let me tell you why because Quick Selection Tool
does not do a good job, Leah, and you might not like the work of the Quick
Selection duly us. So instead of adding or removing such areas from your selection
using the selection tool, just go with the pen tool. This is the most professional
friendly tool and I have made 23 videos about the
Pen tool in this section. And I hope that all of
you might be clear with. Usage of pen tool. So let me just quickly
made up pot around the areas which I don't
want in my selection. And after that, I'll simply right-click and choose
Make Selection. And what we want
to do here is we want to subtract
from the selection. If you want, you can set your feather radius to 50 pixel you like
and simply hit Okay, and see, we have it removed these areas from the selection. And then after that, you can simply go to the Select
and Mask window. You can refine your selection. You can play with the
global refinements later. You can use the edge detection and you can also use
that if an edge, but it's shown if there are
some areas in your image, and that's all for all the images that
contains the subject. And similarly in the
third image also, there are not one subject, but there are four
subjects sale. So you might be
thinking that whether selects objectives going to
walk in this case or not. But my friend selects objectives is definitely going
to work because this image has a clear contrast between the background
and the subject. Although some of the ideas
are not well-defined, but selects a deck
will do its job. So let's hit it and
wait for some time. And see it has done
a pretty good job. Now, if you zoom in, there are lot of areas
which we want to find. And if you ask me if you have to find a bigger chunk
of ADI like this 80. Oh hey, you can go with that. Select, subject it to a pretty nice job with
these kinds of idea. But if you want to enhance some smaller regions
like this one over here, all see this one over here. Then you can simply go with the pen tool or the
Magnetic Lasso Tool or these kinds of
tools that we have seen in the basic
selection section. And we have already
seen the pen tool so you can do it on your
own and please remove the background from all of these images and
posterior walk in the comments section
so that I can have a look how you performed it. So following for that
in this next image. This is a black and white image. And if you analyze
this amazed days it clear contrast difference between the subject
and that bag grown. And there are a lot of
methods which we can use, but the channel selection
is not going to walk because RGB channel is
going to look for that red, green, and blue, and there's
no color in this image, so don't go for the
channel selection. In such cases, you can go
with the Select Color Range, or you can go with
the magic wand tool, or you can even go with
that select subjects. So this is the result of the select subject
in this image. And you can refine these ideas using the selected mask window. There are some here as
in this image as well. And you can use that
Refine Edge brush tool. And for that you can also use the pen tool for
refinement purposes. Now, let's move to
the next teammate to suppose in this
image you want to select this decorative
plant and let me just zoom in. So this plan and is
highly pixelated. And if you try using your Quick Selection tool
for such kinds of selection, especially which contains
these kinds of areas, then no Quick Selection
Tool is going to shuttle. So my advice is don't directly go with
the Quick Selection Tool. I have seen many
beginners going only for the quick selection tool for all kinds of this election jobs. But my friend, there are numerous other tools available like the object selection tool. And you can clearly see
these are the objects and we can easily select them using
the object selection tool. All you have to
do is simply draw a rectangular box around the area which we
want to select. And that will be all night for
the object selection tool. Similarly, we can just draw a rectangular box around this object which
we're going to select. And we can refine these areas. We can add this area
using the pen tool. We can use our brush tool in the Select and
Mask window to add these areas edge D select
and let me just zoom out. So here's the final result. Let's hide this layer. So I have just remove
the background from this decorative flower and
here's the final result. So I think that by
now you all might be able to complete
it on your own. And there's no color contrast or brightness difference
in your image. And we're going to use that channel selection
or the color range or all of the selection
then just go by Lee with the pen tool. Pen tool is one of them most
professional favorites, selection tool and
you have to master your pen tool if you want to be professional in selection. So I think with that, I can just conclude
this lecture here. I will see you later.
29. Conclusion: All right, Welcome to the
final lecture of this course, first island to
say thank you from the bottom of my heart for

comfortable with Photoshop, you can specialize
in a certain field, whether it is retouching, compositing, graphic, designing,
web and app designing, see what interests lies in and just give it
your best for me. That's been AB design. Also, if you want to start an incremental Photoshop skills, the first and foremost
thing that you should do is build
your social presence. I have seen many designers
going directly into the freelancing industry without any previous experience
and social connectivity. Trust me 99 out of 100 times this is not going
to walk in straight. You should first start with
crowdsourcing platforms and participate in
contests under your niche. This will not only help
you to gain experience, but we'll also build
your portfolio. You can also connect with people and groups,
end up videos, social media platforms
like LinkedIn, facebook, Behance, Instagram, and showcase
your work there. Once you get decent amount of experience with social presence, then you're going to work
with the other companies, either project-based, part-time or full-time
and also Billy of freelancing career alongside, remember, it's all
in your hands. Never give up and
always keep creating.
