Make your own herbal tinctures, tonics and tease. I hope you enjoy this course. This course will teach you about the many benefits of using natural herbal remedies to elevate your health toe a new level. This course is not designed to take the place of a physician, so always consult with your doctor before incorporating herbs into your health routine. There are some herbs that should not be consumed with certain medical conditions or with certain prescription drugs. So do your research before choosing which herbs you will be using. Always source your herbs from a reputable source that does not use chemical sprays or insecticides. Look for organic. Growing your own herbs is another great option. Course objectives. Now let's get started on your herbal journey to great health and increase vitality 2. Herbs: herbs, roots, barks, spices, flours and seeds. The following slides will list different herbs, roots, flowers, spices, barks and seeds that could be used to improve many health conditions. I will list the benefits of each herbal ingredients. You can mix an experiment with different blends to make herbal teas, tinctures or tonics from the following list of ingredients. Source these ingredients from natural and organic suppliers or grow them yourself. Lavender made from the buds of the lavender flower known as levin, doula and gassed. If Olia lavender promotes feelings of calm, it's a good drink before bedtime as it promotes rest ful Sleep. Lavender has a distinctive, unpleasant flavour. Lavender reduces inflammation and sues digestive issues. It also detoxify eyes the body and boost immune function metal. Made from the leaves of the stinging nettle plant, Nettle provides great relief from allergies. It has an anti inflammatory property, which can treat sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. Nettle is good for illnesses that cause inflammation in the body, such as arthritis, asthma, diabetes, obesity, cancer and heart disease. The flu in fevers, catnip can speed up the healing of cuts and wounds, and catnip is helpful in relieving cramps in digestive issues. Time Time is a common herb grown in gardens. Time is beneficial for people suffering from respiratory illnesses and chronic diseases. Time is high in vitamins A and C and is also a source of iron, copper, potassium I'm agonies and phosphorus. Time has any oxidant properties making it useful for reducing oxidative stress in the body . Yarrow Yarrow is a flowering herb that grows in temperate climates. It is also helpful during menopause to relieve hot flashes, discomfort and restlessness. Cama meal Cama meal is a daisy like plant. Camomile can help to lower blood sugar, which is useful for people with diabetes. Spearmint Spearmint is in the mint family and his named after its spear shaped leaves. Spearmon is great for relieving digestive issues such as indigestion and nausea. Spearmon is high in antioxidants, which is helpful in reducing oxidative stress and damage caused by free radicals. Spearmint can help balance hormones and women by decreasing levels of testosterone. Rose rose tea is made from fresh or dried rose petals roast. He can help with depression or stress due to the regulation of hormone levels, which affect neurotransmitters in our brain. Rose tea can boost your immune system with high levels of vitamin C. Rose tea is known as a natural sedative, making in a perfect drink before bed. Rose T can help with digestion by re balancing the micro flora in our gut. Calendula calendula is an annual flower from the daisy family. Calendula is helpful in treating urinary tract infections. It's beneficial for digestive upset by increasing the production of bile. Calendula is well known for regulating menstruation. For women, it should not be consumed while pregnant. Oates Straw Oh extra is made from the flower seeds and stems of the haute plant. Oats tries high in vitamins and minerals, making it a nutritious tea to drink oat straws beneficial for hair, nails and skin. It is high in calcium, silica, magnesium, zinc, iron and vitamins. B 12. Holy basil. Holy basil is a green leafy plant native to Southeast Asia. Holy basil is popular for reducing inflammation in the body, making it useful for diseases such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. Holy basil is helpful in treating depression, stress and anxiety because it is a natural adopted gin that promotes mental balance. Passionflower passionflower tea is made from both the vines in the flowers of the Passionflower plant. It is a perennial and grows quite fast. Passionflower has been known to help with headaches and other body pain. Passion flower tea is very soothing and common. It is a great drink, well under stress. Alfalfa Alfalfa is a common herb. It has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine. Alfalfa is used to treat kidney problems, ulcers and other digestive issues. It is also used to treat conditions such as asthma, diabetes and prostate issues. Alfalfa is high in vitamins, protein, minerals and fiber. Burdock root burdock root tea is made from the roots of the burdock plant. Burdock root can strengthen your immune system, making it useful and cold and flu seasons. Burdock root is used to detoxify and purify the blood as well as increased blood circulation. Burdock root is high in antioxidants, which help reduce oxidative stress in the body. Fennel Fennel tea is made from the dry seeds of fennel. Fennel tea is good to drink when you're experiencing heartburn or digestive upset. Fennel treats inflammation in the body and helps to rebuild damaged tissue fennel is believed to be beneficial to those that suffer from irritable borrow syndrome as it helps to alleviate symptoms. Plantain plantain tea is made from the leaves of the plantain plant. Plantain is a common herb that grows abundantly and is often thought of as a weed. But it is far from a pesky weed, as it has numerous hut healing benefits. Planting tea is helpful for heartburn, diabetes, I. B s and constipation. Rebellious, best known for its role in helping asthma, bronchitis and coughs, it is considered anti spasmodic so that it can relax the muscles of the respiratory system quite effectively. lobelia has a very relaxing quality and can be used in calming anxiety, stress and depression. Marshmallow root Marshmallow root is a flowering herb. It is a perennial plant that has been used medicinal ease for over 2000 years. Marshmallow root is beneficial for relief from respiratory illness, coughs and colds. Marshmallow root aids in digestion and is useful in treating symptoms of heartburn, constipation and ulcers. Marshmallow root can soothe and repair your gut lining. It supports tissue regeneration. Dandelion root. Dandelion root tea is made from the root of the dandy lion plant. Commonly thought of as a weed, dandy Lion has numerous health benefits. Dandelion Tea is best known for easing digestive upset and relief from constipation. Dandy Line has traditionally been used for liver and gall bladder issues. It has been thought to help heal. Deliver Dandelion root may help fight off the flu virus. Chick reroute Hickory route is made from the root of the chick replant. It is in the same family as the dandy light chick. Lemongrass has anti inflammatory properties, making it useful for relieving muscle pain. Peppermint Pepperman is a popular herb used in T from the mint family. It has been used for thousands of years due to its refreshing taste and many health benefits. Peppermint eases, digestive upset and gloating. Peppermint can help relieve feelings of dizziness and nausea. It is helpful in relieving pain due to tension and migraine headaches because it can act as a muscle relaxant. Red clover Red clover is a her belonging to the lagoon family. Red clover is often used to relieve PMS and menopausal symptoms. It helps with hot flashes and reduces inflammation. It has been shown to be beneficial for heart health. It can relax cells in the heart and prevent blood clots. It can also be helpful for irregular heartbeats due to anxiety. Mother War is often used to alleviate anxiety and depression. Mother work is anti inflammatory, making a useful for conditions such as arthritis. Violet leaf violet leaves from the sweet. Violets are often used for tea. Violent leaf is beneficial for relieving coughs and bronchitis. It is known for being soothing with a cooling effect, and when ingested, it can act as a lymphatic stimulant. Violet leaf is anti inflammatory, which helps with reducing pain and arthritis. Older flowers. Herbal Blends: herbal blends for tinctures tonics. NT's making herbal blends experiment with different quantities of each herb. Everyone has very individual tastes. The following recipes will only list ingredients in each blend, so try to blend your tincture, tonic or tea to your specific taste. Sometimes you'll want to add more of one ingredient to achieve your health goals. Therefore, there are no specific measurements. Always check if the herbs you're using our okay for your current health. Some herbs should not be used while pregnant, and some should not be used with certain medical conditions. Always do your research into possible side effects and precautions for each herb you choose to incorporate into your herbal blends. Do not consume too much of one type of herb. Make many different blood so that you have a variety of tinctures tonics antes calming tea Blend lavender nettle lemon balm in skullcap, immune system Boosting tea Blend. Eliud Marshmallow Root Any seed, digestive aid, Tea blend licorice root spearmint, nettle cam a meal, hydrating tea blend rose petals, licorice root Calendula, chickweed, spearmint, lemon balm, balancing tea blend. Lemon balm, Nettle mother wort, horse tail mug wort and siege cooling tea blend. Dandelion leaf chickweed. How To Make Tinctures: how to make tinctures. Making tinctures from herbs, seeds, flowers, embarks. Making tinctures at home is quite easy. The important part of making tinctures is to source your ingredients from a reputable source, one that does not use chemicals or insecticides on the herbs. Look for organic when possible, or grow your own herbs to ensure best growing practices. Always make sure that before you use a tincture that you research any possible side effects that may interfere with any medications that you're taking. There are also herbs that should not be consumed while pregnant or nursing, although herbs are natural there often just as effective as prescription medications, so they should be treated as medicine and not consumed in large quantities. After you have major tinctures, store them in a cool, dark cupboard. Since tinctures are alcohol based, they have an extremely long shelf life approximately 3 to 5 years. There is no need to refrigerate your tinctures when made with alcohol shopping. List a glass jar with a lid. Mason jars work really well. Cheesecloth. 40% Vodka 80 to 90 proof parchment paper labels. Herbs of choice. A small funnel in amber glass dropper bottle. How to make tinctures. Chop up your herbs into small pieces. Using fresh herbs is best, but dry. Herbs will work to fill your jar halfway with your herbs of choice. Pour the vodka over the herbs and about two inches above the herbs. Use a little more if the herbs or dry. Place the parchment paper over the top of your jar and put the lid on. Close the lead tightly. Label your dry with the herbs and the date. Store the jar in a dark, cool environment for one month. Shake the jar twice a day. After one month, you constrain the liquid through the cheesecloth and funnel it into an amber glass dropper bottle. Alternatives to Alcohol There may be situations where you may not want to use alcohol to make your tinctures. You can replace the alcohol for apple cider vinegar, using the same method as with the vodka. It will only take about 3 to 5 days for the tincture to be ready for use. When using apple cider vinegar, the tincture will only last 4 to 6 months, and it must be stored in the refrigerator. You can also replace alcohol with 100% non GMO organic food grade vegetable glycerin combined three parts of glycerin with one part of distilled water. Follow the same method as with the alcohol. It will take six to eggs, eight weeks for the tincture to be ready. The glitter and tincture will last 14 to 24 months in the refrigerator. Tinctures made with vinegar or vegetable glycerin are not as potent as when they're made with vodka, but they are a good alternative for Children, for pregnant women or for people who need to avoid alcohol. How to consume tinctures Number one. You can consume the tincture by filling a dropper, which is about 1/2 a teaspoon. In placing the liquid under your tongue. Hold it under your tongue for a few seconds before swallowing. You can do this 1 to 2 times a day, about 15 minutes before eating or number two. You can add a dropper toe a glass of filtered water for healthy flavored water. Number three. You can add a dropper toe, a mug of warm water for healthy warm beverage or number four at a dropper to a glass of all natural fruit juice. This can help sweeten the more bitter herbs 5. Tonics and Teas: tonics antes making herbal tonics antes, herbal tonics and teas are essentially the same because it involves steeping the herbs in hot water with tea, she would consume it immediately. Well, it is warm, whereas with tonics you would let the mixture cool before consuming with T. You string the herbs after a few minutes of steeping the herbs in a tea bowl and mug, whereas with tonics, you can keep the herbs in for a so long as you like, making the make sure much more concentrated than the tea. When making tonics, you often use a lot more herbs than in T. An easy tonic is filling a mason jar 1/3 with herbs in pouring boiling water over the herbs until the jars full. Let it steep for at least 10 hours in the refrigerator before straining and consuming. Since tonics air much more concentrated than a cup of tea. Stick to drinking small amounts at a time, such as a shot glass amount instead of a whole cup 1 to 2 times a day. Store your tonics in the refrigerator and consumed them within 48 hours. So share your tonics with family and friends to make sure that they don't go to waste
