About This Class

#MakeItVisible A class about how to use Sketchnotes and Visuals at work.

I'm Mauro Toselli (aka @xLontrax ) and I'm an IT Director and  Sketchnoter living and working in Italy. In 2012 I was looking for a tool, a technique, a methodology that could be helpful in problem solving activities. I discovered Sketchnotes and I had a blast. Very soon I started to use sketchnote in almost any aspect of my life and with great pleasure and satisfaction but the path to make sketchnote welcome in the workplace was just at the begin.

I learned the hard way what it takes to make the use of sketchnote and visuals appropriate for the workplace and, moreover, how to make it acknowledgeable as a "business tool".

In this class I will show:

  • What does it means "Visuals at Work"
  • How to create you own strategy to introduce the use of visuals in the workplace
  • A few visual tools to get the work done

Although there will be a few "highly recommended" assignments, there are no direct, practical exercises requested. However, as a sketchnoter, you will certainly find that in all lessons there will be some "focal points" that deserve to be sketchnoted.

If you are new to sketchnote I strongly suggest to take the free "Sketchnote4Everybody" introductory class to get the fundamentals and a nice base of knowledge about sketchnote.

This class is the first step of a journey and I am confident that, by sharing what I learned and showing a few visual tools from my"Visual Problem Solving" methodology, you will get a clear idea about what to do and how to take the first steps.

As usual I'm always happy to hear from you, just post questions in the Discussion section or you can get in touch with me here, on Twitter and Instagram or through my website.

Born analog in 1963, naturalized digital in 1994. Lifelong learner. In my professional life I have been a shop assistant, a shop manager, an IT teacher, a Technical Director of an IT private school, the italian Berghaus Brand Manager and today an IT Director.

I do love a lot of things. The love for mountains is hardwired in my DNA, I sketchnote for love and for work, I do love cooking as well as coffee and pizza. If you ask me to depict myself in 3 words I'd say Enthusiasm, Passion, Empathy.

In 2016 I did learn about #the100DayProject on The Great Discontent website and I did it. Once finished, I had a bunch of tutorials and I found myself going back to them to draw inspiration and ideas. It was natural to think to consolidate everything in a book. So I did. See full profile

1. Introduction: Hello again. My name is Model. Personally, I'm an I D director and a sketch Notre working and living in either. Yes, that's why my accent and my a time, not the time. Very often Acrobatic English And these these make eat visible. It costs about introducing, sketching up and visuals in the workplace. This is my second class on skill share. And if you're new to sketch not, I strongly recommend you take my first class. You will find it in my teacher profile or just searching a sketch Nopa here on skid share. And the name of the class is scheduled for everybody. And you will find everything you need to start a sketch noting But back on discuss in this class we will show Yes, I say we because other than me there are other two characters to people that helped me in this gland at in this class. And I introduced you, tow them in that in a few seconds I was saying Yes. In this class, we will show you what is the visuals. Uses visuals at work and why it is important and how toe introduce it. A simple flow, a trick we learned in our in our part since 2012 when I started skates noting for worker for me was hard and high ever toe invent any kind off pricks toe Make it welcome in the in the workplace. But okay, I, uh I believe the hand toe the one off the other two guys you will meet in discuss. I'm excellent, Rex. Individual pirate. And my job is to jump in the conversation toe. I like underline in make clear son concept and sharing a laugh off to And yes, while morrow discuss cemeteries at home, working hard to do the job. And you are at home working out to take in the class time here with no regret. I know what you're thinking Now, High end over to the third guy of these crew. See you later. Hello. I am I don't know who I am. And, uh, well, I think you can call me the voice. Yeah, I am the one who do they really work? I drove along with you sometimes, and I bring you on the path off having the rial ideas. Okay. You met everyone and, uh, let you start. We dive in head first in the first lesson. What is using visuals at work 2. What is "Visuals in the Workplace": lesson number one. What is visual at work? Very simple. Let me show these. It's work no more, no less. These single centers is the fundamental off. Everything we are doing here, off course cities. And we know that Yuzhin Israel at work is important is strategic and and can do very good. So what way do it in our time a tomb we wore hurt like crazy to create. This slides off the schedule everything and that we do it our out of our goodwill. And we think that is good for the company is good for the organization. Because is three okay, No costs for the for the company and everything. Everybody happy? We are happy because we did our visual. We introduce our result because we believe in the power off visual and it's free. That's good. Okay, womb. Not to really We think free is good, but no, not in the meat. Long term. Ah, good. Well is not a business modern and the businesses made off cold numbers. Something that comes at no cost has no wait. It has no impact, I'm afraid is right. And you remember the time that you may know that a beautiful, huge sketch look depicting goal, the procedures, everything. All the problems and everything beautifully depicted. And you very proudly go at office and you show it the hung wool. Arrive your boss and see. Yeah, you're nice Can way take a selfie with that. So the marketing people can use it on rarest Obama. That eyes good. Okay, then can you make, uh, what we're buying toe or worst? You make the presentation, you draw on your wild border, everything and everything good. Every everybody understood. And there's someone say, huh? Yeah, it's okay. Can we make an excel out of it? Uh, that's insane, right? And why that happened? Because in the not majority. But I think in some organization, churning butter and spending time refining, pixel perfect animated power point or cranking out number with Excel is perceived us work. Because because is measurable. It used some familiar, and the organization approved tours work. Cell point is that I'm not telling that is wrong, but is ah ah, this is it. Okay. We need to make sure that what we do our visual has Wait Here is an example. Okay. Um, our weasel we put our weights competence, ability, expertise. We need to make that it cost to make sure that the cost these bones with some measurable business oriented result that means a more profit and less cost. Okay, at the end of the day's Deasy's the equation, what we need to do is to make our visuals relevant and make sure that people see that what we do create a business oriented outcome again. It can be more profit. It could be less cost in the next lesson. Blessings. We will go to this. 3. Make it Works: okay, we understood. We need to be relevant with our visuals. OK? And to make a great lover relevant, we need to make it works. In the majority of the cases, visuals are pools to make things happen. Let me make an example with visual we can the peaked problems questions and stay mitt and the once they are clearly depicted, we can work on them. And the steel suggestion, solution and answer, but is not enough. At the end of the day, we need to make possible to identify things, to be done. An action to be taken. No. Yeah. No. Yeah, I see. Beautiful. Perfect. I understood. Clear that we do things. Be people on the you do it. Yeah, everything figured out. Go ahead. Go ahead. I e I join you. I join you, you know, meeting Go, go, coming. You can clearly see that making visible is just 1/3 off the equation. The visuals Superpower is to bring barrier on a visible 11 Any kind of barrier. Be trust your visual. You can with a bit of practice that you can really the big that you can really point your finger where the problem is the next step Easy to make a choice. End to take decision to make a Tyson take The decision is not the same thing. For an healthy choice, you need to be exposed toe all possible scenarios. OK, you can just dip, eat one thing and take it for granted as the the best solution ever. Visuals are the best way to the big the different different seeing different, different ones because is you can consider it an inexpensive way to create rapid prototyping. Okay, just droid just make different. Ah, different option. And the I suggest to state the obvious as well, because sometimes is not so obvious. After the decision, you take action, you need to walk the talk. Okay? Chatting and talking is so easy. You tell me. I love to talk and I'm Italian. I also used gesture toe emphasize all, uh, I'm talking from saying things toe doing thinks is there is a big three, but there is a big difference. So when you decide, you need to do something in that way, you make your visual works. Indeed. His right Every single session off diesel at worker must finish with with list off things toe to toe least otherwise is irrelevant. Is useless is like to teach how to sing toe a fish. It may be fun. I think it would be fun. But who care? I the peak. I make a choice. I decided to follow my choice. I do think I do anything by doing Think I create more profit or less cost for my organization. And I'm ready. My visual are relevant. That's the secret. 4. Map your Strategy: good talk mouth. Good dog. I hear you. But now what about doing something? Could be a good idea. Yes, You read my mind. And I think it's time to make a schedule. We will create in a awareness month. It's, Ah, a map that will be our starting point for the our strategy to introduce the use of visual in our workplace. And I think the perfect guy for this Tasca is I were friend that the voice Okay, I'll dro myself. This gets Notre with the pan in the hand and then Ah, I draw the stakeholder nurse here. That me centered This this not okay, finished. OK, then people in some occasion where visual are half full. Okay, then I add some labels to understand to better understand what? I have a drone. Okay? The communication. And then I add that the arrow for the flow. Now you the only thing you have to do is to add another other label, to name the arrows and ah, to explain how visual works. So not taking in during the meeting s or your boss is happy because you can show what you did. And ah, nice illustration for the presentation or Ah, nice. Beautiful chart for your to embellish the documentation. That's it. It's done. Easy peasy. I'm sorry, but I have to tell you, this is crap. The voice you can do way better. Okay. Okay. What I can do. Okay, I got it. We told that our visual must be relevant for the business. So this is a burgo and we just write it on the opposite party off the off the sheet. So we have these area empty area here. Some people call it the gap. Other people call it the unknown, but in fact is not the unknown. We know everything we just don't see. Okay, So we need to mop and to see. And this is very easy and we will use a tool I call a the Matchstick Bridge. The Matchstick bridge is a visual problem solving toe, and it's really easy and fun toe to use. It consists in creating the bridge by starting to what elements from both side the match steak. Until you can create a structure where the opposite can get in touch to each other in the original pool. Ah, there is Curie where the inflammable had those up or down to identify in a topic in the concept, if there is a flammable hand head and how toe reenter and how toe put it on the on the bridge. But the for this time we have no time to go to go through all the the methodology. It will be topic for another class. We borrow the structure and start creating the bridge of filling the gap from one side and e d odder until they touch in the center. Okay, let me start to add the first matchstick from our side that a human side. Okay, these are my things. OK? You can do whatever you want. Whatever you find Mawr element important than, uh whatsoever. Okay, here is from the business I d efficacy and effectiveness. But the big did I'm with this guy who avoid the leaking and then one more step on the human side. How I think my visual can help to go toward the business for 11 c go, go freely. Keep going. ST. Louis, I need to tell you something. This map is really he's drawing writing As it goes, there were no rehearsal and the map is messy. the map is authentic. The map is truly, really is based on his experience, my experience and the way we do this. Just to give you a really genuine example off what we are going to ask you to do. Yes, because these will be your first assignment. Okay. Sorry for telling you. I just know that was really route, Lex. Last step. We draw in the center. What we think are the main touch point between the two part and one, Stan. No struggle too much. Just draw the matchstick draw. What do you think? Ah can connect. Carry this. This is a warm up, and I think is very interesting. I believe some of you can be puzzled and confused. Really? Don't be. These exercises not meant toe create a beautiful scheduled, but he's main in. The only purpose is to make you think. And I tell you these off the record disease, by far the most important thing you do in this class disease, your strategy. If you follow the strategy, this critical part that you will make a dent in the visual universe. So don't be afraid. Just graham pen and paper and start the exercise and put some effort in it. Do the map rid of the map. The late, uh, I think reflect. And that you will see the final outcome will surprise you. I promise. Whoa, That's not completed. Toe I in the next lesson, I assure you, I will show you some my tips and tricks for making it visible. And I hope they will be off some importance toe. Anyway, do the excesses. Then go. I think Here. Okay, in project and a resource is go there in there on the top, Right? The reason these green bottom creative project hit the bottom and pasta your map. That will be very important for you to receive feedback and also for other people to get inspired by what you do. I look forward to see your map. Thank you. 5. Do something: visuals and sketch not are a wonderful wake to break the ice. When you reach an impasse, just drop a pen and paper or go to your wife, work web order and the throw something. Make something, and you will see that you will have a result you will ever in effect almost immediately. Now, I need to borrow one of the most famous quarter from the sketch, not handbook, which is the first book brought by the father off the sketch. Look, my dear friend and mental Mike Rohde. Forgive me, Mike, for this visuals at worker is about business, not art. And the now I need to borrow something to gain this time is in a crony, which is S f d seely first. Brock, there's something like this that you know you do toe overcome a M pass and bus and isn't Don't care about gratefulness about the fidelity. Don't care to make something beautiful because they you need just toe shake the tree. The draft has some birth rights like this. Eat. Ah, it is. It has the right to be wrong. Okay, Toby Incomplete and Toby discarded and at least to me has a very important thing. That is the Zio Peppone effect. Here we are. What isn't Theo peple effect. First of all, what is a The pepper? You know your papa is that bar slash restaurant slash diner, which is there since ah forever. Uh, it has the same furniture scenes forever because the same menu sings forever. And it has the same old couple off owner that we're old scenes forever. Okay, you get the picture Now imagine this. A group of people maybe on the what's up group chart that tried toe meet for lunch or for a dinner and the charter He's lazing in people all Yes, it's a long time time No see, we can go out with something together to catch up where we go I don't know. You decide for me everything. It's OK. Before it reached the point that someone say I am a bit we rbz Maybe next time you just drop the zio Peppone bomb. Just propose it. Hey, what about going to Theo? PayPal and off course The reaction is immediately. You can have a serious over directed over 50 if effects Okay, The 1st 1 is the global consensus. Okay, you go in a not the best place ever. But at least you understand the reason true, genuine will to get together. Okay. And you can have a negative co Sessoms and that someone will jump in and say No, no, no. It's your pepper. No, rather than your pepper. We go there. And that is also good because the conversation start again. And this time someone take They take a step a put a foot in the door. Okay. Suggest something End. It is up to you to keep the balls rolling is very easy. Just do something and shake the tree. Oh, okay. Let we make some book everything in that That's perspective And make some order in that in the story Ah, the pepper effect. Well, when you draw the laughter you have you can have a chain reaction and that mainly you will have a tree outcome like this 1st 1 is a positive feedback. All the people are ah, knowledge. What? You have drone and ah, they are They are okay with what you did. And now you need to keep going to our things and ah toe Ah sustain the conversation. The other effect is a negative feedback. Someone disagree? Okay, Someone say something else. And that is also good Because you can start to ask Question. You can start to investigate what? Strong on and that way both the positive or negative. A negative fake backer help you to keep the bulls rolling. Okay? And overcome the blocks. The third outcome that you can have these non no matter what you draw, no matter what you do, you don't have any feedback. People stay cold. Dawn Commander. Anything and there you may have Ah ah, Different problem. Not about the project. They did the topic of the discussion, but it can be a political problem. Ah, in what you're doing. Not you, but the team. The project. The project is stepping on someone. Those okay or can be motivational. Someone in the team has a lot to lose. In both cases, you need to push harder. Toe, sir. Face all the all the blocks away at the barrier. How you can do this? We will see in the next lesson. But meanwhile tries when you when you reach a blocker when you are stuck in a discussion on ah or ah, you have Ah in in bus and ambassador. Just try these. Ah, grab and in paper. Draw something and see what happens to you in the next lesson. 6. Draw the right question: when you use these Russell worker, the most important thing by far is toe. Draw the right question and not the answer. When you get the right answer, everybody agree Your worker is done, That's it is finished. Okay, you get the solution. Just bright it in plain text and refrain toe. Add visuals. Because if you are on the wave off your enthusiasm and you draw something that is just to embellish your answer, it maybe get in the wrong way and that you raise mawr question people, maybe have the wrong interpretation of your with visuals and that you raise doubt. If you get the solution, just write it. Plain text black on white. That's it, Period. He's not wrong is very right. But this soar for fear. Eos who was a straight I was kind of boring sometimes. Okay. And, uh, well, yeah, Let's we do an example. Okay. Imagine you have a problem. You ever a cake? That tastes funny. Okay. And, uh, you were a group with your team and tow Discuss. And to solve this problem now, drawing the cake even if you draw it beautifully. Okay. Very. With Ike fidelity and all the details is pointless. Okay. Doesn't work it, uh, you spend time for nothing. But in this case, if you draw the recipe, it's completely another story. Big A second toe. Look at the ingredients. Okay, one by one. I bet you spot the problem. Okay, on. And now you can solve. The problem you see is this'll is an example off drawing the right question. Okay. The question is, why tastes funny and, uh, throwing the cake is not working. Drawing the recipe it is. 7. Put Pressure: now, I agreed to show you my fab, aerate ever way to use visuals at work when you are in a middle of discussion when you are doing your thing drawing. If you hear creaking, just put pressure on it. Remark. And, uh, when you do eat only two things important things can happen. The 1st 1 it breaks. And that's not a failure. That is really good, because you find where the problem is. It breaks and you can start over clean from scratch. And that's perfect. The other effort is if it doesn't break, you understand very clearly where you need to put some oil toe, lubricate relationship and proceed. Er, things and believe me, is very easy to do it with visuals and that you don't need to draw beautiful stuff sometimes just to put words in the right part off the off the drawing of the visual and to use heros toe. I liked the day float how you can do it by using a routine by asking over and over and over a few simple, straightforward, bland questions. With time and practice, you will find that your own right, questions to ask and your own routine. But just to give you an idea, I show you mine. And if you like it that you can use it. I'm no gels. Take a second toe, follow the floor, and imagine asking those questions. And then with the help off the usual Firat and the boys said we we will make an example. Okay, in the next lesson. Now, with simulated I love between me and on the voice it then and the voice well greeted me and asking questions about the problem we have. The problem is, it seems to be that, uh, a new lord off productor In this case, spare parts arrive. And there is, uh, excellent breaks me has a problem toe making space in their warehouse. Just say he can do that. Why? 8. Silly First Draft: the Making Of: Okay, The we're two weeks the next weeks. The next week we will receiver ale, order off new spare part. Okay. Hey, they arrive more or less on Monday or Tuesday. Yeah, we have the weekend in the in the middle and yes, more Messana on Monday. It's, uh, and not, uh of stuff on. Uh, okay, Yeah, Mandy Tuesday. So we have to work in the warehouse. Andi, I think we have Toe York and eyes the, uh, part we have there. And then we need to make some space said to receive the to receive the parts. So when you see this, I see Yes. Okay, but I can't do that. I can't receive the new part on Monday or Tuesday. Simply I I'm not ableto received those parts. Also, because I can't reorganize the every organized the dd the warehouse house. So it's not possible? No, we can't move the despair parts because they arrived and no, I There is no way I can be organizing in one week the the warehouse. So when you say these, I understand that there is no space enough for in the warehouse. Yes, there is no space. And you have a time. There is no time to Yes, there is no time toe that. So I understand that you can't delay in delivery and you can reorganize the space so you don't have space and you don't have time. So you are saying you can tow do that? Is that correct? What is not is not true. I can I can do that. It's it's really is No, it's not true. And what do you think to do about is we? We can't reorganize, but we need to work on the SK You we have no the court. They are not ready and way need to ask. We need to define DD Yes, kur Then toe make that entry to put in the system and then to bring the least And when we have the least hear what I'm saying? You're telling me that you have It's so Lucia this crack when we have they printed the least we can take a couple of days toe reorganize everything to understand way yes, by when to stay could be Could be good if everything is okay. We need to bring the labels. You're these Uh Okay, that's I think, uh, you know Thursday. Friday You're telling me that use different? Yeah. Today Said can be enough for if everything is OK. So we got a solution Thursday and Friday. He's okay. Perfect. I think that way can make it this base. Except yes, it's right. We can make it. Thank you so much. 9. Create Value: I think it was a success. We draw the we did. Our silly first drafter is something that anybody that that can grab a pen and make a mark on her so face can can do. But we ah soor faced the problem. We state the abuse The time that the load off new products arrived at the warehouse is a mess and just by drawing it, writing it black and white and making the guy see what he say's what he stayed it The process, let me say, forced everybody to find a solution and we found a great solution. Now it's time toe create a final visual sometimes is not, is not an accessory is just the DD Graft is just enough. But this time I think we need to make a a final visual toe. Consolidate everything we grabbed. Let me show you an example off a final. Be sure here these I read row what I grabbed in the after I redraw what I think is the problem. I restored the idea on the process off the solution we found and okay, it's readable is understandable, is graceful enough is something again Bring any hang on the wall. But let me tell you, from the business point of view, he has no value at all. Let we take a step back. I show you is live from lesson number two theories. Thing is in a natural what we did, we had problems, some questions, stalemate, and we identified the a solution and what we need the outcome the needed outcome ease to repeat clearly the things to be done in the action to be taken. Okay, so we need to create something that is trackable something that if we show tow our boss, he can clearly understand how we achieve the final goal There's out and how we may be, how we make it end. How we can track the path to the success, I think is better toe go back to our draft and make in a bit off banalities off what we have to before we do it. I want toe introduce you toe the rule number one off my visual problem solving methodology securities. When you analyze the silly for draft, you need toe use it toe, identify the right problem. Identifying the right problem is fundamental because the only knowing the right problem by knowing the right problem, you can find the right solution. Then you wouldn't define their riel barrier. It can be temporary. And in that case you need toe deconstructed, or it can be a constrain. If physical strain is a block, you can overpass it or better you can exploit it. Then you need to consolidate that The solution you found okay. And make it really not just drawing, not just theory. Okay? You need to put eat in the real world, toe, make it actionable. And to make it measurable in a few words, you need to draw something that tell what does what. Who? Sorry who does what and when and how this chain of action bring you to the goal. 10. SFD Analisys: And here we are. And we now analyze that. Were she defense trapped? First of all, we need to identify the problem. Uh, you may think that the problem the guy told us the real problem is the new Lord off spare pass that arrive in the arrival of the next week. But in fact, everybody knows that the real problem is the warehouse. Okay, so this is the problem now. The constraint, DDT, the career, the career ease off course, the arrival off the new off the new part. You can relate. Okay? They arrived. They arrived and that you need to find the space, store them in the warehouse. And so the thing is a cost rain. We can't overpass it. Of course they arrived. They they just left the parts on the in front, off the warehouse, and the track will go, and but we can exploit it. Okay, We can exploit it to make sure toe create a critical path. The week before. The other Bere ear we have is that the guy is long. Greeks say he can do that. You see, this is a very interesting trick when you find a block. When you eat the wall. And a good tactic is to write name. If you write the name, the guy feel a huge pressure and you trigger a you trigger a a reply, you trigger a response. It can be a break breaks okay. And you can start over. Or it can be that he help you to find the deception. And in fact, we found the solution. You see, here there is a lot. The path we need, all the path we need we need to do. Okay, so now we have disease. Temporary. Maria, we can use these. Let me use another color just toe. Maybe a bright. Very. Okay. We have the temporary barrier. We have this constrained that you no way can and never edge toe arrive. The better solution another Sorry. Another constrain we have is the timeline here. We have one week to work on this problem in the end. Excellent. Rex told us that if we follow this path, okay? And we print the labels and we put the labels on all the stuff you have in the warehouse Thursday in Friday for him. What? It could be enough pork for making this base to create too. The host. All the new parts this perfect. Now we need toe draw these in a way that we can use to track all the operation toe. Specifically, they find old operation off the action we need to do and who do all these excellent we to be taken, I think could be a a nice exercise it for everybody if you draw something that if you create your final sketch not your final visual based on what we have, what we have seen here and, uh, share with the class in the next lesson I show you mine. He did it again. Yeah, if you call her a few Sarko chicken Scratch here and there. Or this is the problem you can find the very year now. Let me change the color so you can understand. OK, but you cannot respect everybody. Understand? What? In your head. Okay. And let me apply what we learn so far. Okay? What you deed Tomorrow is yet another silly first draft. What I do now is to take what you need and create a beautiful final. I show you here, there what I did I think it's better I put it on the on the screen. Now we identify the re Ella the right problem, which is the warehouse. It's really mess, not organized. Everything big set up and need to be fix it. Then we identified the career way. Have a couple off string, both tied toe the time to the timeline, which is the delivery data. You can move it, ZESCO, strain the truck arrive and leave the product Hana at the door of your warehouse and then the timeline. We have two weeks the next two weeks to fix everything. Then we have another career. Me that I say I can do that, OK? And if we take these as it is, it's a real problem. But is a temporary Baria because below that there are other problems on other things and the main thing is that there is no space and it's OK and I have no time to make the space By pushing hard. We identified the right solution that is, in a natural, the organization of the warehouse. We need to find the code, organize all the part, and when the part are organizer, we can move them in the right space and make space set for the new part. Okay, Now we need to make it riel toe, create the business. Understandable. Business oriented result One easy to make a least off action. And our So our proceed, er the solution could be actionable and then making measurable. The easiest way is to make a checklist. Okay. And the least off things do end when done just to check it. Dun, Dun Dun, The more detail the better. Then with these two things that we can create who make the who do the things I do OK, do my part. But I need some help and water to do is the checklist End when? How these fall. In the timeline doing this, you will have something that is a program black on white, very clear for everybody to take action and end. You can show your boss and you can say for sure disease the problem We plan toe fix it in this way in this time and everything is under control. I really suggesting to do this. I know that is not everything completely clear for you, but just just e invent something. Make up a scenario. That feat in your, uh in your reality in your real life and share with the class because from what you share and what other people share we or can find very, I think great idea ideas to improve our using a visual at the work base. We really look forward to see your work. Thank you. See you later. 11. My Final Visual: as promised. I show you my final schedule. As you can see, I decided toe create something very actionable something that can be a worksheet where more people can work on it to get let we work through it. First of all, in the top part of the timeline, the timeline is critical. One off the main course train, and I decided it has to be depicted very clearly and have a an important part in the in the usual. The central partner off the sketch up is about the main problem. They warehouse that has to be re organizer toe be able to store all the new the new product . I imagine that the warehouse are for isles for shell. Vanessa and I put a label on them from left toe, right. The story or the water will happen in the in the warehouse. The 1st 1st picture is the warehouse as it is. The second is the action to move all the parts on the right shell best. And the last part is the beater that there are toe share share buzz free toe host the new Linux product. The third part is about the things to do the action to be taken and that as you can see, no visual or drawing nothing. Plain text and in the checkbooks, one least of action for each shells In the lower part, I put the names in different colors. Okay, if excellent breaks will do its part and that we will have a year to other guys Adam and Eve, that will help. Excellent rakes toe do this job. And if they use their color and check all the boxes with Cora with their color, you will You will understand very quickly who is doing what and what has bean done. And now a simulation off How this thing is catching, it can be used while the work is in progress. You can clearly understand who is doing what is very is very, absolutely easy for everyone. Toe understand what is going on and hear how it looks. This case not when the worker is completely done again is very easy to understand what happened and hope did what? Well, I don't know what you think and I be happy if you tell me in the discussion section off these off this class. But anyway, I think this is really cool. And what Barbara did the begin Waas toe listen to me. And to show my mind and tow push me to encourage me toe to say toe express my doubt my problem My, my fear and toe moppet We together made that matter and then we went through the map. We analyze it and we create something extremely useful something that is not just a model de artista. Okay, the that make beautiful sketch not off for everybody to see and stop. That was really inclusive. Okay? And everybody can work on it. Everybody involved in the process can using the Canda can put their marks on what he does and is is beautiful. Okay, At the end of the day, just putting the the check on on the box is something great. Not every day happens that we can really see what what we need. And this is the power off visual that works done in the in the right way. Everybody can use it. Everybody can take advantage of it. Everybody can see what is going on if you print it and hung on the wall. And the boss comes and is happy because it sees that everything is coming together and the problem is not the problem anymore. Because we know what we are doing. And we see Okay, visual is visible. Okay. We made ead visible for everybody. That's the rial juice. That's the rial superpower off visual sub Bork. 12. Wrapping up: Okay, this is the rip up, and I'll try to summarize everything. We we have seen industry in this class. We say that using visual on the workplace is its work at the end of the day, and our visual has to be relevant and for being relevant, day must create the business related outcomes. These outcomes has to be measurable, measurable and because we must we need to make sure it is possible to identify less cost or more profit related toe our visual activity. We say that disease about business, not art. And we introduced the concept er off the silly first draft, which is a tool that is helpful toe break the eyes and to kick start. The activities then can be used to create the final visual. The final visual is something that state the things to be done and the action Toby taken because it's really important that this visual is operational and again he's measurable off course. At the same time, it has to be accessible and inclusive. This in one singer's slide, ease what we did in this glass. I feel that this time I did all the hard work. But well, Aziz usual. He's the tourist. He's the the artist. And all the credit goes toe goes to him. Okay, I e hope I did my my part. Well, I brought you some smile, Doi, and I help it to explain all the details off off this class for me to start to introduce visual at work was I must say, it was hard. And this flow, this path, this college trick to start toe create something very usual and measurable that everybody can say it helps was a They're really a big A big head. This, of course, is the deep off the eyes burger. I leave you with this. I think you had a few idea you. I think I hope you had a few idea. And you can, uh, put in action what you learn in this in this class on. Uh, okay, I hope to see you in the next last. Yes, because there will be next class once again seeing that guy. That guy. My spot was disturbing. Anyway, I joining in hoping that you learn something useful in that will help you to introduce visual in at your workplace and assist usually if you have a question if you want a toe no more war ago, Deeper in some some detail. I'm off course, I'm I'm available. In the the description of the class, I put all my reference. You can reach me on Twitter or Instagram or you can go on my website in the contact page and send me and any mail. And that it is is my second class on disease again with these guys with an acrobatic English and not always perfect recording both in video and and audio. But we did our best toe give you a good time toe make you have fun, but mainly toe share our our passion our belief in Yuzhin using visuals for good. And let me do a bit of marketing here. I You don't know. I wrote a couple of books about drawing and sketch. Not you will see a lot of details. You will find the details in the in the description off the class here. No pressure at all, but just check it out. And, uh okay, I I think we arrived that day and the end off off the glass once again. Thank you very much. I had really a great time, Greta. Merely Joe
